Vlora is a no bullshit kind of woman. She says what is on her mind and regrets very little of what she does. She doesn't like to beat around the bush and would rather just get something done than worry about stepping on toes.

Even though she is a rough and tough woman, Vlora also has her soft spot. She is very family and friend oriented. She takes their safety and happiness very seriously. Another thing she takes seriously is her job which consists of keeping her person(s) safe.

Laughing and joking is Vlora's favorite past time if she isn't asleep or eating. Despite her beat-you attitude, she is quite friendly with other people. She doesn't go out of her way to be an asshole, she just doesn't like wasting time.

Amell had slept at the estate so he could wake up early enough to at least finish the roof. He got up and did what Una had told him to do with his hand before going out and starting on the roof. By the time he had finished it and came down he heard her voice first. “Old men have no damn business being on a roof of a house.” His sister, Vlora, said. A small giggle is what had him turn around. He froze in his spot when he say her. There was no damn way to deny that the small girl standing next to his sister was his ex-wife’s and his daughter. “What is this about, Vlora?” He asked.

Vlora came over with the small girl and smiled, “This is your daughter, Hazel.” She said softly, and Hazel smiled softly, waving a bit. She was scared he wouldn’t like her and he was so large and tall. This was her father. Her mother had married this man and created her. Amell looked at Hazel, “That’s… a very pretty name.” He said softly and Hazel giggled. “Thank you… my mother said you really loved that name so she said she just had to give me that name.” She said softly.

Vlora smiled at the scene, “Hazel, go explore around the lake a bit while I talk with your father, okay?” She said and the girl nodded before walking away. When she got out of ear shot Vlora turned to him. “Okay… so… man where do I even start? So… apparently after Hilda left you she found out she was pregnant with Hazel. Apparently she thought it was best that you didn’t know and I would be fucking furious but…” She sighed and rubbed the back of her neck. “Man how do I say this?” She asked and took a deep breath.

“Hilda passed away, well she was murdered.” She said softly. Amell shook his head, “No… no she isn’t, Vlora.” He said, his eyes watering. Vlora teared up, “I am so sorry, brother… but we have the best people on it.” She said. Amell turned his back on the girl and stared at the door of the estate. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. It felt like he was losing her all over again. “No..” He cried and leaned down on his knees. Vlora rubbed his back softly. She slid the blood stained envelope and handed it to him. “She gave this to Hazel to give to you.” She said softly.

Amell looked up at her, blinking back tears, before grabbing the letter with shaking hands. He stood back up and slowly opened the letter. When he began to read the letter his eyes watered up again.

My Dearest Amell,

If you are reading this it means I have passed and hopefully, you have Hazel. I can’t tell you how much I miss you and how much I still love you. You were my everything and I wish I would have stayed, but it was for the best we separated. There isn’t or maybe now wasn’t a day that passed by where I didn’t miss you.

Hazel is your daughter. She is such a bright girl, Amell. She has such a big heart and she is so kind. She is a perfect mix of you and me. Please take good care of her, Amell. She is our baby. She is the last of me. Guard her with your life like I have. I am sorry I broke your heart. I am sorry for everything. I love you to the farthest star and back.

With love forever and always,
Hilda.

"Fucking... hell..." He growled, clinging to the letter. He was heartbroken and pissed. How in the fuck was not letting him know about their child a good thing? "I still fucking loved her, Vlora... I wish... I could have been there. If I tried to show her how much I loved her... I would have been there for Hazel and Hilda." He said. Vlora hugged him tightly, not knowing what to say.

Hazel looked over towards the porch and watched the two. Was he crying? She thought so. She was sad her mother had passed away too. She didn't know of her aunt or her father or his family. She was happy they found her father. She had been worried he wouldn't be okay with her. Hazel still didn't know.

Amell pulled away, "I don't know how to take of a kid or teenager." He said and Vlora smiled. "I will be here to help. She is a good girl, Amell. Very sweet and curious. I am shocked at how perfect a mix she is of you and Hilda." She said and looked over at Hazel who was looking over at them. She motioned for the girl to come over. Hazel smiled and walked over to the two. She seen that her father had been crying and she could just tell that he was saddened by her mother's death, or well she hoped he was crying because of the death and not because he had to take her in.

"Amell... meet Hazel. She is thirteen years old. She loves books and being sweet and all that." Vlora smiled. Hazel raised a hand up. "It is nice to meet you... uhm..." She didn't know if she should call him dad, daddy, father, Amell, Mr. Amell, Mr. Kawan. Amell smiled softly, "Any form of father or dad you want to use is fine." He said.

"It is nice to meet you, daddy." She said and he took her hand softly in his and shook it. She step forward and hugged him. Amell blinked and softly hugged her close.

Gamaya (outfit) was worried about Amell. Rationally, she knew he was probably fine - he'd seen a doctor, Unarelle had cleaned and bandaged it well enough, but it was still worrisome to her that he hadn't shown up for work. He was a hardworking person, after all, and the only thing she could think was that something must have gone wrong. She headed straight for the lake house, figuring it was the most likely place for her to find him. As she neared the house, she spotted him on the porch with a woman and a young girl. She looked like a kid, though she was still much taller than Gamaya was. "Amell!" she called out gently as she got closer, breathing a sigh of relief. He wasn't hurt. He looked fine. She couldn't have been happier. She slowed to a stop when she reached the porch. "Thank god you're okay. You didn't show up for work. We were worried - I was worried... but apparently you're just babysitting? When did you start watching other people's children? I feel so betrayed," she told him in a joking tone, smiling and shaking her head before looking at the women. "Hi, there," she said politely.

Amell blinked when he heard his name being called and looked over to see Gamaya coming. "Shit... totally forgot about Barynn." He sighed and blinked. "Did she just say I needed to be babysat?" Vlora asked and Amell groaned. Hazel smirked a bit but stayed quiet. "Gammie, this is my sister Vlora, Vlora this is Gammie. She is my boss' baby's momma's sister. Great cook. And this here..." He said and looked at Hazel who looked up at him with a soft smile. She knew this might be hard for him, "Hi, Gammie. I am Hazel. Amell is my father, but he didn't know until today. I am so sorry for keeping him here when he had responsibilities elsewhere. I assure you we didn't mean to worry anyone." She said softly.

Amell blinked in surprise at how well she spoke in a situation like this. She sure did remind him of her mother and his chest tightened. How was he ever going to get over her with a daughter who was so much like her?

Gamaya blinked when Amell introduced the woman as his sister. She recalled him saying his sister was coming, but she hadn't expected it to be so soon. When the girl introduced herself as Amell's daughter, Gamaya's brown eyes went wide in surprise. She looked up at Amell, and then back up at Hazel. "Oh, wow," she said softly. "No, no, it's okay, sweetheart. The important thing is that your daddy's okay," she said. How old even was this girl? Should she talk to her like a teenager, or like a kid? She didn't even know. "Hazel, is it? That's a lovely name," she said before looking back at Amell. "I'll....tell Luther and Barynn that you won't be able to come into work today. I'd offer to watch her while you go to work, but I'm sure you've got a lot to process and talk about," she said. She couldn't believe that he was as composed as he was after having just found out he had a child.

Hazel giggled, "As long as it is okay. Daddy, can I go look inside of the house now? I can hurry and pick a room for myself and Auntie V and I can start to think of ideas while you two talk." She said softly. Amell was still a bit weirded by being called daddy but he smiled softly, "Of course." He said and Vlora waved at Gammie. "It was nice meeting you, Gammie. I am sure I will be seeing you around if you can be so worried about him." She smirked and walked in with the young girl. "Ahh yeah, thanks." He said. "Uhm... I might be out for a few days. I need to figure out... some shit... and uhm... get to know her a bit more, you know? She has been through..." He cleared his throat and looked away. "My ex-wife passed away... uhm pretty tragically and... it uhm it has hit me pretty hard on top of not knowing I had a daughter, you know?" He was trying his hardest not to show any kind of weakness. He sure in the hell didn't want to cry in front of Gammie.

Gamaya smiled a bit when the girl so readily called Amell daddy, waiting while he gave her and Vlora leave to go look at the inside of the house. "It's nice meeting you too, Vlora," she said with a smile before they left. When Amell spoke, she listened, her brown eyes widening when he said that not only did he have a daughter he didn't know about, but her mother had also died. "Oh, Amell," she said softly, stepping forward and putting a gentle hand on his arm. "I'm so sorry to hear that. I won't tell Luther your reasoning unless you want me to. That...should be yours to tell him," she said. "Do you need a hug...?" she asked, able to tell that he was much more broken inside right now than he was letting on.

Isla listened as she talked and when the couple came in and her boss said she was up they came to her and asked about getting things for the new puppy they got. She smiled brightly and gently scooted the puppy off of her foot. It just laid there and slept as she took them to the aisle they needed to be in and asked questions to better suit their needs. When it was all said and done they had a counter full of things and she rung them up just like she was showed and waved goodbye saying she hoped to see them again and thanks fur stopping by.

Vlora had gotten a job while she was here with an Uncle Q. She was to patrol the streets and keep people safe. It seemed like an easy job and she had time to see the city. She had been sweeping a spot when she saw some man creeping from the other end of the street, staring at a man in a suit. She hurried over to him and smiled. "You are being followed and you look like a man who couldn't fight to save his life, so pretend you are my boyfriend, okay?" She whispered.

Lanissa stayed near the cat condo, stroking Soup and watching while Isla helped the customers. She was doing a great job, and Lanissa was certainly impressed. She walked over to the counter when it was time for Isla to total up their purchase, watching the girl go through the price tags and put it down on the form. She figured it was best to keep an eye on her first couple transactions, just to make sure she did everything right, but she had faith that Rhyanid had taught her well and, sure enough, the girl did quite well. Lanissa smiled when the couple left. "Good work," she said.

Bastian was walking home from his office when an attractive young woman came over to him. He blinked when he heard her words, a little taken aback, but he nodded. "Very well, then," he said, hesitating a moment before gently grabbing the girl's hand and resuming walking. "I apologize, I'm not certain to what extent you'd like me to pretend, but I've always found hand-holding to be a very clear indicator of a couple being romantically involved," he said.

When her boss told her good work Isla beamed and smiled up at her. "Thank you. At the old job you had to work from the bottom up so I started with the gift shop and it is pretty much the same way down there, just instead of pet supplies it is stuffed fishies or shirts and mugs." She giggled.

Vlora was happy the man didn't fight her and blinked at how proper he sounded. He sounded like he was from some rich family and she mentally sighed. "So, suits, what do you do? The hand holding is fine, but we should chat more so that it looks like, ya know, we a couple. Oh and the name is Vlora. I patrol the place for Uncle Q. Just started, anyway again...what is it that you do?" She asked.

Lanissa grinned at how excited Isla seemed to be about doing well. "I rather enjoy the mental image of stuffed fish," she said with a laugh. "I have some orders to put in, so I'll be in the office working on that. Rhyan will be in and out. If you need anything, feel free to grab one of us," she said, giving Lanissa one last kind smile before heading into the back room.

Bastian looked over at her when she asked what he did, smiling a bit. "I'm a lawyer. I own the De Larousse law firm," he replied. "Vlora is a very pretty name. It's unique. I've never heard it before," he remarked. "My name is Bastian. Bastian De Larousse," he told her.

Isla nodded and smiled. The day went by well and she only had to get Rhyanid once throughout the whole day. When she was done she went to find him again since she couldn't find her boss and spoke softly. "It is the end of my shift, is there anything you would like me to do while I am here?" She asked softly.

Vlora listened and looked back to see if the guy was still following and he was. She mentally sighed and smiled, "Oh a lawyer. Your kind is a pain in my ass sometimes." She giggled and leaned into him a little bit. "Thanks, my momma named me and all. So... props to the old woman." She smirked and blinked. "Bastian" She let his name roll off her tongue. "That's a sexy name. Too bad ya gay, ya know? Now hold on... I don't want him following you to your fancy smancy house." She stopped him and huffed. "If you don't go away my boyfriend will kick your ass creep!" She yelled, sounding like the girl who would be a victim instead of the one who was going to kick ass. The man walked out and smirked, "Oh really?" He chuckled. The man was about Bastian's height if not taller and a lot more built. He had a shaved head and lots of tattoos on his arm.

Rhyanid was in the back at the end of Isla's shift, writing out some price tags for new merchandise. His mother had stepped out for a few minutes to grab some coffee, and he looked up when Isla came in and asked if there was anything he needed her to do while she was still there. "Nope, not that I can think of. How'd you like your first day?" he asked with a grin, setting down his work and leaning back in the chair a bit so he could look at her and be mostly level with her.

Bastian raised an eyebrow slightly when Vlora said that lawyers were sometimes a pain in her ass. "I certainly hope that doesn't mean you're a woman who likes to live on the wrong side of the law. It would be a shame to have to write off such an attractive woman," he said. He had to fight back a slight smirk at her response to hearing his name. He was about to correct her when she said he was gay, but then she called out the man who was following him. He blinked, turning to see the man, and then he looked at Vlora. "I do hope you know what you're doing."

Isla looked at him and smiled. "I liked it a lot. It was fun and I got to know the layout pretty well. The people were kind enough to be nice on my first day." She giggled. Isla just wanted to go get her son and go home. "I got to see exactly what kind of fish the store has and I was looking at the tanks they have here, but the ones I need seem like there are going to need to be shipping in from my island." She said softly and wished she had stopped talking.

Vlora blinked, "Oh no... not a clue. First time patrolling, remember? Was hoping you could fight." She smirked and rolled her eyes before shaking her head. She walked up to the guy and smirked before saying she was the one who actually knew how to fight and by the end of the whole thing the man was on the ground screaming. She made a big X on his cheek. "Now I know who to look for. Go." She said and the man ran off. She turned back. "Shit, guess I do know what I am doing, Bastian... or suits? Hmm... I like our name a bit more so, Bast it is." She smirked and put her knife away before walking over to him. "Shall I walk you home, M'lady? Since you have made it very clear you can't fight. I don't mind walking pretty ladies home." She smirked.

Rhyanid smiled, listening while she told him about how her first day had gone. He blinked when she mentioned that she'd need to ship fish in from her island, and then a smirk came to his lips. "We've got plenty of space, you know. If there are more fish that are suitable to be pets that you think we should carry, we could probably order them in from your island," he said. "You'd have to talk to my mom about that, though. She handles all the ordering, especially for things like that."

Bastian frowned when she pointed out that it was her first time patrolling, but then much to his relief, she went and fought the man anyways. When she was done and she sent him on his way, he breathed a sigh of relief, adjusting his tie as she turned around to face him again. "I suppose I'd be a fool to turn down an attractive woman offering to walk me home, would I not?" he asked. "I should first correct your earlier statement, though. Your assumption about me was incorrect. I am, in fact, very much heterosexual," he said with a smile.

Isla blinked and laughed, "Oh no, I meant tanks, though your exotic fish supply is low to none, but I don't blame your mom for carrying them since people who buy the fish here are usually beginners or parents looking to give their little kid their very first responsibility though that kind of saddens me because fish are just like a cat or dog." She said softly. "The tanks I need are going to be almost floor to ceiling so... I am sure your mother doesn't need to get those." She smiled. "Thanks though..." She looked around and smiled, "Well I should get going. See you tomorrow." She said softly and waved before hurrying and disappearing.

Vlora smirked, this guy was funny. She liked funny. When he told her that he was straight but said it so properly. "Do you always talk like that?" She asked as they walked. "Like... it is called GAY." She laughed. "It is okay, you are a closet gay. I support you, either way, kid." Vlora let him lead her and she looked around. "Oh man... these big houses make no damn sense unless you have like twelve kids." She said.

Rhyanid chuckled when she said that she'd meant tanks and not fish, nodding. "Ah, got it," he replied. He smiled when she commented on their poor stock of exotic fish. He rather enjoyed the way that this girl knew what she was talking about. "I'm definitely going to want to see these floor to ceiling tanks when you get them," he told her. "I'll see you tomorrow. Have a good evening," he told her when she said goodbye, waving at her before she was gone and then getting back to his tags.

Bastian blinked when Vlora asked if he always talked like that. "Always talk like what?" he asked her. He raised an eyebrow when she called him a closet gay, shaking his head. "I'm very much not, thank you. My interest is in women," he said. He walked with her, glancing over at her when she commented that the big houses made no sense unless you had lots of kids. "I've always thought that, myself. I grew up in a large home, but I was an only child. It made little sense to me, but it seemed to make my parents happy, so I never questioned it," he said with a shrug. "Mine is significantly smaller since I've no family to house."

Vlora looked at the man and let him talk more before she laughed, "Oh man, boy... I can't. You are so proper in your speaking it is just... quite fun." She laughed. "Ahh, so you are right on a good track of mind then. So, Mr. De Larousse," She said in a fake French accent. "Do you always walk home alone like this at night? Seems kind of dumb for a man who can't fight to be walking alone." She said.

Bastian looked a little surprised at her when she laughed, raising an eyebrow when she said he was proper in his speaking. "Well, I was raised in a wealthy family and I am highly educated, so I would be inclined to assume that such factors contributed to my speech. Different accent, different vocabulary, different speech patterns. That's all there is to it," he said with a shrug. When she asked if he always walked alone at night like this, he nodded. "I do. I've not had an issue, I keep to well-lit areas, and there are usually guards and patrols about. It is a rather unfortunate necessity when I work late," he said.

Vlora listened to him and shook her head. He was a good looker and speaker. Not her type at all, maybe to play with, but that was about it. The fact he called her attractive multiple times fueled her ego a bit. "Ahh well... when do you normally get off? I am going to be the normal patrol around here so you might see my face more often. Might as well walk a pretty lady like yourself home. I like to think I am great company." She laughed.

Bastian chuckled a bit when she asked what time he normally got off, looking over at her. "I get off when my work is finished, or when I decide that I am finished for the night. That is the joy of being your own boss, after all," he said. He raised an eyebrow when she called him a pretty lady, shaking his head somewhat. It was emasculating, that was for sure, but aside from the misandry she wasn't altogether unpleasant. "You're welcome to accompany me home any evenings it may be suitable to do so. I cannot, however, guarantee that I'll be leaving work at the same time each night. There are days I'll be gone before nightfall and there are nights it'll be past midnight before I leave."

Vlora listened as they walked and she looked up at him. He was interesting though she wasn't too keen on a man who couldn't defend himself. How could a man who looked like that and own his own firm not defend himself? Either way, him just talking alone was something to keep her interested. "Huh, well I do sweeps randomly from like seven at night to three in the morning so... if I see you I see you." She said. A part of her wanted him to keep talking because she just couldn't get over the fact that he was so damn proper. Vlora stayed quiet for a bit and blinked, "So what kind of lawyer are you? Family, Personal Injury, Bankruptcy, Criminal, or General Practice?" She asked.

Bastian nodded when she said she'd see him if she saw him. "That seems a fair assessment," he said. Part of him was somewhat hoping to run into her more often now that he knew she'd be out and about. When she asked what kind of lawyer he was and then listed off types of lawyers, he blinked and looked at her. "I'm uncertain whether your extensive knowledge about lawyers should concern me," he chuckled. "I typically work as a criminal or civil defense lawyer. I also have the added work of owning and running the firm itself and, with that being said, there are other lawyers working for me who handle other types of legal matters - the family, the injury, the bankruptcy... it would be a safe assumption to make that our firm can handle anything our clients may need," he explained.

Vlora blinked before laughing, "Hmm, should you be concern that I actually know what I am talking about? Let's see... hmm maybe." She laughed a bit more. "I used to work as a bodyguard. So the people I would beat the shit out of when they attacked liked to sue sometimes. I have dealt with my fair share of lawyers. Most of them were old pruney men or very uptight women. I never seemed to get a really good looking lawyer." She sighed. "Probably for the best, they probably would have been homosexuals." She teased with a smirk. When he finished talking about his firm she nodded in approval, "smart... so your firm will have business coming in... given if you know... they actually know what the hell they are doing that is." She said. Vlora smirked and looked at him.

Bastian listened as Vlora talked about getting sued when she worked as a bodyguard, shaking his head. "It will never cease to perplex me that people sue when they are obviously in the wrong. If you attack a guarded individual, you're liable to get hurt. I do benefit from it, though, so I suppose there's little use in complaining," he said with a shrug. He blinked when she said any attractive lawyers she met would likely be homosexuals, he blinked. "Given your earlier assumption about me, would it be a safe guess that your current implication is that I'm an attractive lawyer?" he asked with a slight smirk. He nodded at her comment about his firm knowing what they're doing. "Oh, the lawyers working for me are excellent at what they do," he said.

The vocabulary and way the man spoke made Vlora smile. It wasn't every day she heard shit like this. It also didn't help that he was good looking to boot. She really hoped she would bump into him again on one of her patrols. Vlora would definitely take him to a tavern for a drink since she didn't technically have to keep walking the whole shift. Usually, she would give it her area a once over. Go to a tavern for a bit and repeat. Unless it was a night for just walking and one trip to the tavern. When he asked if she thought he was an attractive lawyer she laughed a bit. "Ahh, nice to see you can put two and two together. You might just be a semi-good lawyer." She said. "Yes, I do find you rather attractive, Mr. De Lerousse." The man was a kick and she couldn't wait to tell her brother about tonight. It would get a kick out of it too and then tell her to be nice to the man, but she had been. She was very nice to him. When she started seeing smaller houses she blinked, "You like in something like this." She said and pointed to a house. Vlora had hoped this wasn't his house, it was rather ugly and she didn't think she could refrain from making a comment.
