Weston was relieved to find a nice blue bathrobe that was exactly what he'd wanted. He debated whether or not to get it, since he found that a small part of his chest scar was still visible in the middle of it, but he decided that it was a small price to pay for covering the rest of his chest from her. One measly chest scar was nothing much, and it was right in the middle. Hell, he could probably write it off as some sort of heart surgery if he had to. After that, he found a number of simple articles of clothing - simple pants in a few different colours and some shirts, both long- and short-sleeved in varying colours - and bought multiples of them. Satisfied, he shoved the robe into his safe and put the clothing in the bag that Amira had given him, and then he headed out to their meeting spot, smiling when he saw that she was already there. "And they say women take too long shopping," he joked as he approached her.

Mayelle grinned a bit. She was excited to hang out with her new friends tomorrow. She was curious what Masami meant about exploring an abandoned house, though. "Why would we go exploring an abandoned house...?" she asked curiously. She didn't know much about houses in the first place. She couldn't imagine why a house would be abandoned in the first place, let alone why they'd go inside it if it was.

Adrian blinked and then shook his head at Lorelei when she lifted the covers. "Nah, we just took him out of the bath since his fever wasnt budging much at all and he fell asleep...Micah, fell asleep... in ice water." He said and sighed a little, he was pretty worried, he knew Micah used to get sick all the time when he was younger, but he had never seen him sick before. Micah sleepily looked at Lorelei and then up at Adrian. "Your girlfriends a perv...." He mumbled and finished his tea as Adrian piled some blankets on him. "Shhh..Its fine." He said and Micah just shrugged and closed his eyes.

Amira looked up and smirked. "For most that would be true. But I only wear certain things, so shopping is easy peasy for me." She said with a smile. "You good to go get groceries now or was there something else you needed to get?" She asked, theyd need to get home decently soon after picking up groceries, especially if meat was purchased, so that really needed to be last.

Mari looked over at May and shrugged. "To look for ghosts, duh." She said and then smiled a little bit. "Theyre just a little bit spooky and theres this big one around here thats been abandoned for like over ten years so its extra creepy." She said and looked over at Masa. "How do you even plan on doing that huh. Gonna let us all get spooked and be a hero and lead us out?" She said and pretended to swoon. "I bet Nadia would try to hit anything that came at her, ghost or otherwise." She said, trying not to laugh.

Weston shook his head when Amira asked whether there was anything else he needed to get. "Nope," he replied with a smile. "Just food and then we can be on our way. Did you want to get lunch while we were out? It'd be my treat - if not, I'll make you something at home. You pick. It's the least I can do," he said. He found that he kept saying that, that it was the least he could do...but really, he was grateful to her for putting a roof over his head and for helping him to get situated, and he wanted to repay her however possible.

Amira nodded. "Okay. Uh, lets go ahead and head back to the house after groceries are gotten. Its easier than finding a place to eat at this hour on a sunday." She said and walked with him to the food market and let him go ahead and shop around for what he needed. She ended up buying a couple of things she could carry in a smaller bag, mostly just ingredients for chocolate stuff she could make at home. When he was done she led him back to the house and held the door open for him since he certainly had his hands full and then walked to the kitchen to put her things up and away too.

Lorelei nodded, "Well do as I said and if he doesn't get better let me know, okay? And I am his FIANCEE not his girlfriend, ya sicko." She said and poked his cheek. Dol nodded and when they left she sat next to him and watched him before laying next to him and gently rubbing his cheek.

Masa nodded and looked over at May, "Some of them are so scary and they have ghosts. The souls of dead people.. in case you didn't know and Naddie is a chicken." He chuckled. "She is really cute when she gets super scared... then it gets scary because she starts to swing." He said.

Weston quite enjoyed shopping with Amira. She seemed to know all the best vendors and by the time they headed back home, he had more than enough food to last him a short while. He grinned as she got the door for him. "Thanks," he said, carrying his stuff inside. He headed into the kitchen, setting down his bag on the counter and then setting the safe down on the floor. He figured it would be best to work on the groceries first, so he got to work on putting the groceries away, taking care to put his name on the packaging of anything he could.

Amira put her stuff up and got out of the way of Weston putting his things up too, keeping track of what was his that he couldnt mark just in case. She hung back away from him for a bit, taking a minute to get a drink of water since she was very much into staying as hydrated as possible. She ended up sitting on the kitchen island while she sat there, kind of wondering if Weston could actually cook, and where he learned if he knew how to. She hadnt known many men who could cook more than a few simple dishes.

Weston finished putting away his groceries. He'd already decided what he wanted to cook, having picked up some nice-looking salmon from a fish vendor in town. He'd decided to throw together an asparagus and tomato salad to go with it, knowing that asparagus paired well with salmon, so he gathered together his ingredients and got started, glancing over at Amira as she sat on the kitchen island. He smirked slightly. "You want to watch because you don't think I can do it," he teased in a gentle tone.

Amira blinked and then smirked a little bit. "Maybe. Its not common where I come from for men to cook at all, so its pretty interesting that some men apparently do, considering its considered strictly a womans job where im from." She said and gently kicked her feet while she watched him. "You'll have to excuse my curiosity, im pretty intrigued by your confidence in the kitchen."

Weston raised an eyebrow when he heard her words, a little surprised. "Really?" he asked. "Strictly a woman's job? Pfft. I've been to places where men barely allowed women in the kitchens. They figured the kitchen was a place for fast-paced business and barking orders, and women aren't suited to such an environment. Now, I disagree, of course, but I tend to disagree with a great number of ideologies I come across," he said as he worked on preparing the vegetables for the salad.

Amira nodded. "Mhm. Where I come from women raise kids, and cook meals and we do our husbands biddings. Like some kind of weird version of a maid or a nanny." She said and shrugged. "Thats just the way it is, the men hunt and gather and protect, and the women pop out and take care of the children and the clothes making and cooking. Im not a huge fan of it obviously, I left that behind years ago. My tribe would scoff at the idea of a woman owning a business. Especially a single woman." She sighed.

Weston listened curiously, glancing up the moment he heard her say tribe. "Tribe? You mean like the elven tribes in the woods?" he asked, sounding intrigued. "I've encountered a few of those in my travels. They definitely varied. Some seemed quite friendly and opened, but others were much more reserved and almost on the hostile side," he mused before going to start the salmon cooking in a pan.

Amira nodded. "Mhm. I used to belong to one that traveled along the outskirts of the kingdom, mainly only traveling in the dense woods and stuff. They only went into the city if they absolutely had to, and if you were a woman, you had to be accompanied by your husband." She explained. "But I needed to get out of there, it wasnt the life I wanted and my parents were extremely persistent that I marry a man twice my age when I was like nineteen. He wanted to marry me because I looked different than everyone else. And he was high ranking in my tribe, so my parents thought it was a great thing. I didnt, so I left immediately. And now im here." She said with a shrug.

Weston quietly listened. His heart already ached for her from what she'd said. "A man twice your age?" he asked, the disgust evident in his voice. His back was to her as he was cooking the salmon, but it was pretty obvious by his voice what his face must look like. "That's vile. That'd have me marrying...hmm...a fifteen-year-old girl. I don't think that's even legal," he said, shaking his head. "And at nineteen? He'd be old enough to have been your father. It's probably a good thing you left. Now you're here making chocolate and sitting by the fire with wine and good company and excellent taste in books," he told her with a chuckle.

Amira nodded. "Well, it had been in the works since I was seventeen, but things got serious when I was nineteen so I really did have to leave. And it was common for girls to get married around sixteen in my tribe, so I was late to the game already so they were really pushing things by the time I was nineteen. I had no interest in being some mans pet though. So I pretended to be real picky about boys." She said. "And yes actually, my mother and father had me at eighteen, so he was actually my fathers age. Not that that seemed to bother anybody but me." She sighed and then blinked. "Your book was the first I had read. We werent allowed to read books not written by tribe members. They were afraid we'd get crazy ideas about the world and leave to seek these crazy things out."

Weston listened curiously. It seemed horrific to think of women being forced to marry at such young ages. While the salmon sizzled away, he turned around to face her. "Where I'm from," he said, speaking slowly and choosing his words with care "there's only one thing women can't do. Women can cook and clean, or they can hunt and go to battle, but women are not permitted to rule. Something about the royal spirit being passed from father to son, I always thought it was nonsense," he told her, and then, fearing he'd already said too much, he promptly turned back to his fish. "So, is it true? Did my book give you crazy ideas about the world?" he asked with a light chuckle.

Amira listened while he spoke and nodded. "Certain women were allowed to hold high places in the council, but only if their husbands had died, or were away. And then they were to act based upon their husbands previously laid out views. If she were suspected to make a ruling that was based upon her own wishes, she would be removed from the council." She said and then smirked. "It most certainly did. Mainly about women..That and I really hoped that was a real place in the world because I really wanted to visit." She said with a giggle. "When I left, I was so cut off from the rest of the world that I had no clue that women outside of my tribe lived the way they wanted, they arent required to be married, they can work and hold higher positions in society than men. It was a lot to adjust to at first. BUt now living here, the way I used to live seems like a cruel and barbaric way of living." She sighed.

Weston smiled as he listened to her talk. He couldn't help but to chuckle slightly at her comment about his book. "Damn, do I ever wish it was a real place, too," he agreed with a grin as he took the salmon off the heat and began to plate it. "I'll tell you what, though - if I ever find an underwater civilization with merfolk, you're the first person I'll take there," he joked. "In all seriousness though, I try to portray the women in my books the way I see them - strong, and unique, and capable. I'm glad to know that my book gave you crazy views about how women should be," he laughed.

Amira nodded along and then giggled when he said he'd take her to the underwater civilization of merfolk if he ever found one. "Deal. If I find it first, i'll take you too." She said with a smile and then nodded. "I would certainly hope you'd think we were capable beings. We birth children for gods sake." She said and then cringed a little at the thought. She had attended her cousins birthing of her first child and that was terrifying. But if a woman could do that and get up to take care of an infant damn near instantly, they sure as hell could do a whole lot of things. "It gave me such crazy ideas, made me want to go explore and see new things and places, and learn what the world had to offer. And now im here, with my own chocolate shop in a city that floats in the sky above the ocean. Its not quite as magical as an under water civilization...But its pretty close I think."
