Amira listened as she munched away at her food, about the cooking classes. "Oh I never took any classes, you start learning to cook at six where im from. You have to be well able to prepare meals for your future husband. Twenty years of cooking is pretty much what I owe any skill in the kitchen i have to." She said with a giggle and then smirked at him. "It is a hit, especially around here. All youd have to do is mention that you could cook and youd have like three girlfriends instantly." She said partially joking about the last part.

Weston chuckled slightly as he heard her words. "I was never taught to cook. It wasn't necessary," he said, but quickly shut up before saying anything further. He glanced up when she commented that cooking was a hit around here and he smirked. "Three girlfriends? Damn. I'd be doing well for myself," he said with a laugh. "Maybe it's time to renew the search for love," he said, though he knew fully well that he wouldn't.

Amira blinked. "It rarely is for men." She said. When he started talking about renewing the search for love she giggled a little bit. "Maybe you'll have better luck than I have. Dating is exhausting" She said with a little bit of a sigh before taking a sip of her water. She hdnt done super well dating wise previously, and was currently on a break from even attempting going on a single date again. Weston would be quite popular with the ladies though. So hed likely have no trouble finding a nice girl.

Weston smiled a bit, shaking his head when she commented that he might have better luck than her. "Somehow, I doubt it," he murmured before focusing on his food for a bit. He knew that relationships were a bad idea for him. He didn't trust people enough to have a functional relationship. Even his friendship with Amira was a tentative thing. He was quite fond of her, and he found they were getting along well, but he also knew that he wasn't about to turn around and tell her his life's story or anything like that.

Amira shook her head. "Not with that attitude mister." She teased though she understood the pessimistic attitude towards the whole deal. She munched away until she was done and then when he was too she collected the plates and took them to the sink and washed them up. She got them washed up and put them up to dry, swaying as she did. "So, did you have any place else in the city you really wanted to go to?" She asked, looking back at him.

Weston chuckled a bit at her comment, though he didn't really have much else to say about the matter. He could tell that she was only teasing, and he had a feeling that she understood where he was coming from, to a degree. She probably didn't quite have the same issues he had, though, but that was for the better. She was a great girl and would make some man very lucky one day. He was a broken and damaged man who probably couldn't do the same for some woman. He followed her to the sink as she took the dishes to wash them and he shrugged slightly. "I don't know," he replied. "Is there a library? I almost hope there isn't. I might lose track of time and never finish writing my next book," he laughed.

Amira nodded. "Unfortunately for you, there is a library." She said and giggled a little bit. "I go about once every couple of weeks and pick up a few books." She said and then dried her hands off. "There are at least three book stores in the city as well." She said and smiled up at him. "Your book needs wont go unfulfilled I promise."

Weston laughed when she said that there was, indeed, a library. "Well, damn," he said with a shake of his head. "There goes all my productivity. I should probably see how much writing I can get done before I let you show me the library," he laughed, gazing towards her. "And while I'm at it, I should write my old publisher and see about shipping some new copies of my book up here. I need to bless the local bookstores if there are three of them in town," he continued with a chuckle.

Amira smiled a little bit and nodded. "They certainly would benefit from having at least a few copies of your book here. This city, its different from everywhere else. The people are different here. It should sell a lot better, especially with me peddling it off on people like I do." She said and leaned against the counter.

Weston laughed softly, grinning over at her. "That explains why it was so well-read when you showed it to me. You said you'd read it twice and I couldn't figure out how reading a book twice could weather it so much," he teased with a grin. "And everyone you've had read it...they liked it?" he asked, genuinely curious. He hadn't had a lot of positive feedback where the book had been published, so hearing what the people here seemed to think of it was amazing to him.

Amira nodded. "Well seven of the nine people really liked it, and out of the other two one of them really really liked the story but questioned the ending and the other person was my ex who is honestly not the book reading type." She said. "So I count it largely as a win." She said with a smile. "Pretty good reviews if you ask me."

Weston raised an eyebrow when she commented that somebody who'd read his book had questioned the ending. "The ending?" he asked, sounding quite surprised. "What's wrong with the ending? It's conclusive, it leaves behind no more questions - I had to rewrite that part four times just to please my editors," he said.

Amira shrugged. "They wanted more mystery. More left to the imagination." She said and moved from the counter a little bit. "She normally reads mystery and romance novels though, so she's more used to cliff hangers and mystery to usher in a new book later on." She said with a little bit of a smile. "I wouldnt pay too much attention to it, everyone else liked the way it was so."

Weston smirked slightly. More mystery? That was pretty much the opposite of what people usually wanted from him. "I never was good at writing the mystery stuff," he said with a shake of his head. "Don't get me wrong, I love to read it, but when I write something I like to cover every base. I don't want loose ends. If I want to do a sequel eventually I usually can, but I also want it to be good enough to survive on its own," he continued, smiling. "I still can't believe you've read my book. It actually feels surreal. You're going to have to introduce me to some of these friends who have borrowed it," he added.

Amira laughed a little and shook her head. "It was only the one lady who thought that. Two of the girls who read it work in my shop, so you can meet them if you ever come to visit, see all treats ive got hidden away there." She said with a smile. "On second thought, i'd never hear the end of them talking about me living with the author that wrote that book they like. And then oh my, Amira's living in the same house as a man. Theyre very silly women." She said with a giggle.

Weston couldn't help but to grin when Amira commented on all the treats she had hidden away there. "Don't tempt me," he teased with a laugh. "I really, really want to come see that shop of yours, but I'd just buy all your goodies and your other customers would be sad. We've been over this," he laughed. He smirked slightly when she commented that she'd never hear the end of it. "Well, if that's the case then maybe I do need to stop by," he said with a smirk. "Gotta level the playing field between employees and boss, after all."

Amira smirked. "Dont tempt you? Oh but I have chocolate croissants, and salted caramel and chocolate tarts, not to mention truffles and chocolates galore. Thats not even counting the chocolate covered fruits and candies." She said and then huffed. "Weston nooo. Theyll ask about you constantly because you're, well. You and all that." She said and made a motion with her hand at him. "The gossip will be so real."

Weston smirked as he heard her listing off all the things she had at the shop. That sounded absolutely divine. "Ugh. Now I want all these wonderful chocolate things you make," he told her with a laugh. "You've got no choice now, Amira. You have to take me to your shop. You don't even have to mention right away to them that I'm Weston Page, I can just be your lame new roommate Wes," he told her with a laugh.

Amira smirked. "Oh my. My lame room mate Wes. Totally going to work mister. As long as you tell people im just your boring room mate Mira. Cant have the people you meet turning into chocolate addicts like you." She said and shook her head. "I will take you tomorrow when the shop is actually open and you can try all of the things." She said with a giggle.

Weston burst out laughing, giving her a quick nod. "Deal," he said to her. "I mean, assuming they agree that I'm lame. I've been told before that I'm quite handsome, though, so hopefully they don't get too caught up on that," he said with a laugh. When she said that she would take him to the shop tomorrow to try the things, he gave a quick nod. "That would be excellent," he said before his gaze shifted towards the staircase. "I should probably see about getting some writing done. Can't fall behind on that second book when I now know I have so many adoring fans here," he laughed.
