| Race/Species: Dwarf | Hair Colour: Dark brown | Eye Colour: Brown | Skin Colour: Tanned | Trade: Bard/Minstrel |
Appearance:
Standing at approximately four feet and six inches in height, Yoranda weighs only about 105 pounds. She has lightly-tanned skin and her build is slender. She has long, wavy dark hair that comes down just past her shoulders. Yoranda has large, round brown eyes, arched eyebrows, and a petite nose. She, like the rest of her family, sports full lips. Yoranda's outfits are less modest than her twin as her focus is more on style, and she can often be seen in a variety of pieces - skirts of all lengths, trousers with tall boots, blouses, tight-fitting tops, sweaters, anything she wishes to wear. The twins always wear a pair of matching golden rings with green stones in them that their older sister Barynn made for them.
Personality:
Yoranda is perky, vibrant, upbeat, bubbly, and full of life. She has a tendency to be a bit loud and she loves to socialize. She is the type to strike up a conversation with a random stranger completely out of the blue. She loves to sing, and even when not performing, will sometimes just randomly sing for the fun of it. She loves dancing, chatting, and shopping. Yoranda can be a bit naive compared to her sister, however, and it is often Unarelle who will pull her sister out of situations that she's afraid may escalate. While Unarelle is dependent on Yoranda for socialization, it's Yoranda that's dependent on Unarelle for common sense. Yoranda has a tendency to be a flirt and will rarely back down from the opportunity to hop into bed with an attractive man. She hopes one day to fall in love, settle down, and have children, but for now, she is simply living life and having fun.
History/Bio
Yoranda and her twin sister, Unarelle, are tied for the position as the second-youngest of the eight Garmold children. They exhibited opposite personalities even from infancy, with Unarelle being a quiet baby who was easy to care for and Yoranda being a loud, demanding baby that drained all the energy of their parents. From early childhood, Yoranda demonstrated a passion and talent for singing, so her parents decided to enroll her in lessons. Her teachers quickly recommended that Yoranda should train for the bard's trade, and her parents agreed. When the twins were four years old, Yoranda fell ill and Unarelle spent all her time with her sick sister. The healers never could quite figure out what was wrong with her and could do little more for her than treat her symptoms. Eventually, Yoranda got better of her own accord.
Over the years, Yoranda has had several random episodes of sickness. Each time, her twin has been right there at her side. They still do not know what has caused it, only that Yoranda's sickness may be what's given her the vibrancy and love of life that she has. At sixteen, Yoranda became romantically involved with a boy from the settlement. He took her virginity, and while Unarelle was disappointed with her twin for giving up her virtue so early and so easily to someone with whom she knew it wasn't going to last, Yoranda was far from disappointed. Since then, she has dated and slept with a few different men including him - all of them multiple times over a period of time, and she's never been involved with more than one man at any given time.
Now, at eighteen, recent events are causing immense change in the lives of the twins. With two of their older siblings - Barynn and Istrain - having both left Bhagh-Nernwahrum to pursue lives on the surface, other families are beginning to look upon the Garmold family name as somewhat shameful. In an attempt to patch things up with the rest of their colony and preserve their good name, their parents have agreed to an arranged marriage for Unarelle to a young man from a family of high rank. He's had feelings for her for years, but she never reciprocated because she always thought he was an ass. Now, she has little choice. Hoping to save her sister and knowing that she'd easily be able to please the man and be a good wife, Yoranda even volunteered to take Unarelle's place and marry him, but he was insistent that it was Unarelle he wanted.
Frightened and devastated, Unarelle does not wish to marry this man. Yoranda has had to make a hard decision now and she has decided to take her twin and leave Bhagh-Nernwahrum in order to escape the arrange marriage. Their plan is to take all their savings and venture to Veritas Isle, where they know their older sister Barynn lives and they know she will take care of them until they figure out what to do with their own lives.
