Priscilla frowned when he said that he should have stayed dead. She shifted somewhat so she could face him better and she gazed towards him. "Listen to me, James. You should not have stayed dead and I don't want to hear you say that. I lost my entire family, and I miss them all dearly - even my little sister, who was frankly a terrible person. There were days when she was alive that I wished her dead and I would give anything to take those thoughts back now that she actually is gone. You may be a worse person than her and you may have done terrible, horrible things, but you still have value and importance and people who love you. I don't see you as a bad person. I see you trying to right your wrongs and trying to be a better person. Some days might be harder but I believe in you, and as long as you'll have me I'd like to stay by your side to help you and support you and to remind you that you're not alone and you're capable of doing good things."

James dropped his hand from her hair and frowned, "I am sorry, babe... I didn't mean... it was just a thought." He said softly and leaned up and kissed her softly. His hand traveled to her hip and he smiled softly, "If it makes you feel any better Garnet really wants to see you. She needs to know who her daughter has been smitten with and who I am apparently dating. Since I can't date whores and sluts and all that jazz. I don't know. I think she was more intrigued that you would wait for marriage... then said something about how she should have waited but then she wouldn't have her own baby doll." He sighed. "Most of that was my fault though... and she asked me not to knock her up, but stupid me wanted to do what I want and I missed most of Ebbie's tummy months." He sighed.

Priscilla was relieved that he recognized that it was just a thought, leaning in and kissing him back softly. When he said that Garnet really wanted to see her, she giggled a bit. "Well, I assure you, I'm certainly no whore or harlot of any sort. I'm a perfectly respectable young noblewoman with morals befitting a lady of my age and position," she said proudly, smiling at him. "I see no reason for Garnet not to approve. And besides, I'm pushing you to be a better man, because I know you can be, and I'm excited to see the man you're going to be," she said, kissing his nose softly.

James smiled a bit and chuckled, "Yet so naughty, hmm." He said and barely tapped her nose, scared he would poke it right off her face. He stood and sighed, "I guess your naughty time can wait." He smirked and winked at her before disappearing into his room and sliding on a short black sleeve shirt and walking out. He eyed her and shook his head, "Damn... you are so lucky I can't grab you." He smirked.

Priscilla laughed a little at how gently he tapped her nose, moving so he could stand up properly. She waited while he went to get changed, gazing up at him appreciatively when he came back in. "You know, I don't know how you look so handsome all the time," she said softly, getting up and walking over to slide her arms around his waist. "It's funny... all the suitors my parents brought me were respectable gentlemen and they were supposed to be the most handsome bachelors from around but even when they dressed their best and did their hair and were on their best behaviour, none of them were even half as attractive as you are without even trying," she said with a giggle.

James blinked and shook his head, "you are going to make me swoon, Prissy. Stop." He joked and smirked before gently slapping her ass, but it came out to be like a regular slap. "You are supposed to be a good girl, yet you are over here complimenting me like this. Whatever am I going to do with you? Am I blushing? I feel like I am." He sighed.

Priscilla jumped a bit when he slapped her ass, giggling afterwards. "Look at you, already figuring out how not to hurt me. Good job," she said with a smile. When he asked what he was going to do with her, she laughed a little. "Blushing and swooning? Isn't that what you're supposed to have me doing?" she asked softly. She gazed affectionately up at him, her grey eyes sparkling cheerfully. "I'm glad to have met you, James. I'm fairly certain that I'm...not who you anticipated for yourself...but you're not who I anticipated, either, and I enjoy what we have," she said.

James looked down at her and smirked, "Oh good, I am learning. You better start running, gonna master this and then you are going to be all mine. Gonna be fun." He smirked and then gently rubbed her cheek when she said that she was glad that she had met him. "I didn't anticipate being with anyone, Prissy. I was okay with being a single dad for life." He said softly and kissed her. "I enjoy what we have too, babe. Very much." He said softly and kissed her once more before walking to the door. "Come on, you gonna make me late." He smirked.

Priscilla giggled when he said that she was going to be all his. "I'm already all yours, though. You don't need to figure out the strength in order to keep me," she said softly. She smiled up at him when he said that he hadn't anticipated being with anyone and that he enjoyed what they had, kissing him back both times and nodding. "Good," she said softly. She nodded when he started for the door. "Of course, of course," she said, grabbing the nearest cover-up of hers and pulling it on since her dress didn't cover her shoulders. She grabbed his hand once she'd fastened the shawl in place, smiling. "Let's go," she said.

Priscilla gently took Ebony from Garnet, watching her go and then nodding when James said for them to go. She carried Ebony and walked back to James's house with him, gently cuddling and cooing over Ebony as they went. She felt bad that he'd gotten mad at her. Maybe next time she just wouldn't say anything. Garnet's language had been crude and lewd, she'd acted so smug about her certainty that Priscilla would, in fact, sleep with James before marriage, and she'd just generally been unpleasant. Priscilla didn't care for her, but she wouldn't say so to James again. "Okay, sweetest baby in the world, here we are!" she cooed as they got back to James's house.

James opened the house and watched her walk in before walking in too and closing the door. He walked past her, "I am going to my office. Don't disturb me." He said and walked off to his office. Ebony huffed and screamed before rubbing her face in the fuzzy thing and giggling.

Priscilla nodded when James said he was going to his office and not to disturb him. "Okay," she replied softly before turning her attention to Ebony. "So, sweetheart, looks like it's just you and me for a while. What do you want to do while daddy's busy?" she cooed, carefully shrugging the jacket off her free arm before switching Ebony over to the other side so she could take the jacket off her other arm, hanging it back up where it belonged. "Hmm... we could go have some tummy time. You can get your little neck and tummy muscles all big and strong," she said. She headed to Ebony's room and grabbed a little play mat, taking it into the living room and setting Ebony down on it, sitting down beside her.

Ebony did the superman when she was laid on the mat before laughing and doing baby things. After a while and when the sky got really dark James left his office. "I am going out. I will be back later." He said and walked out, leaving her with Ebony, and heading for the lake island.

Priscilla enjoyed playing with Ebony on the floor, though she was worried that James was really mad at her. She looked up when James said he was going out, nodding. "Okay. We'll be here," she told him. She played with Ebony a while longer before giving the baby a bath and getting her ready for bed. She took the bassinet to the guest room with her so Ebony would be close by, not sure when James would be back, and then she herself changed into a basic white nightgown and went to bed for the night. She slept quite soundly, getting up whenever Ebony needed something but always managing to get back to sleep quite promptly, and when morning came and the sun peeked in through the window, she was sound asleep on the bed, her curls splayed out all around her on the bed and a peaceful look on her face.

James didn't come back home till late in the night, right when the sun had just peeked up. He was tired and just wanted to sleep. He got out of his clothes, just staying in his undies before going to bed and falling asleep. He didn't sleep long though, getting back up just five hours later. He growled and wanted to go back to sleep but his body told him no. James got up and walked out of his room and into the kitchen before making coffee.

Priscilla fluttered between asleep and awake. She was hungry, but she didn't want to leave Ebony alone, nor did she want to take the bassinet with her to the kitchen to find food if there was any risk of waking the baby. She stayed lying in bed, figuring that eventually the baby would wake up and once she did, she'd get up to tend to her and she'd take care of herself as she did. She was a bit disappointed that she hadn't gotten to spend time alone with James last night, having been planning on giving him a nice surprise since he couldn't touch her without risking hurting her, but there would always be another chance. She drifted back off to sleep, rolling over on to her side.

James came back home, Garnet in tow. "Prissy!" He called out. Garnet sighed, he had told her what Priscilla said and had to give him credit for acting like an adult right now. "I would call you daddy, but I know how much you like it." She huffed and James smiled, "can you tell Prissy to call me that more?" He asked and Garnet laughed, "Uhh she thinks I am crude and lewd and a bad momma... which by the way, do I get to punch her for fucking saying that?" She asked. James thought about it, "Maybe."

Priscilla was in the living room with Ebony when she heard James come home and call for her. She scooped up the baby and grabbed the letter, knowing that even if he was still upset with her she wanted him to read it. She went to meet him, faltering slightly in the doorway when she saw Garnet before putting on a polite smile. "Hello," she said softly. "I'm guessing you're here for this little one?" she asked, bouncing Ebony a bit. She had the letter in her hand and was trying to smile despite being worried. As intimidating as James could be, right now she was glad that she had him because she had a feeling that once he saw the letter she'd feel much safer about its contents.

Garnet saw the falter and smirked a bit. "Yes... kind of... no well yeah. I miss her and it is my turn to have her, but James wanted me to come." She said and walked over and took her baby who squealed and laughed before resting her head on her shoulder. "Who is a happy girl? Yes you... my precious child. Yes, momma did miss you but I know you had lots of fun with Prissy, huh? Yeah, I know she is such a good girl too." She cooed. James watched and looked at Prissy. "I was gone most of the night, I didn't come in till right before sunrise. Instead of going do something stupid I decided to talk to Lor who I knew I could never hurt." He said and Garnet bounced her baby and listened. "I am sorry, Prissy... for grabbing you like that. I could have handled it a lot better and the only reason we had Ebbie last night was because Garnet was scared I would do something regretable and if you had Ebbie... I wouldn't be so stupid... which was probably smart of her. I don't like you bad mouthing Ebony's mother and I hope I never catch you saying such things to Ebony... I would leave you in a heartbeat, Prissy... I am serious. Garnet has something to say now." She said and Garnet sighed.

"Look, I like you a lot... though you can come down on your high horse a bit. I was joking, mostly, about the whole James thing. I was more hoping that James wouldn't do something stupid and take it from you... as much as you trust him, him and I know that he slips and when he does it can be a hard one. I am just really scared he hurts you... you are a good girl... and I know how he can be. If you really think he can be better, and maybe he can... he has potential." She smiled at him and he smiled back, "then be prepared for him to lash out when he has his lows... because he will have them. I am not sure what all you know about his past..." She said and looked up at him, he nodded, "But it is a very dark one... what he did with Yora was nothing compared to what he has done. It was bad enough that his own mother didn't want him to see his daughter... but I am the one who makes that decision and he might be bad but he isn't a bad father. I know he will give his life up for her... and well... he is his best when she is around... which is why I kind of shoved Ebbie on you two so fast." She said and looked at him and he gave her a look.

"Jesus, okay DAD." She huffed, "I just came to say sorry for coming off so strong at first and then you know... trying to save you from James. Though you calling me a bad mother is something I think I deserve to punch you for... or maybe kick you... like I said I never fought before... so I don't know which one will hurt." She said.

Priscilla gently handed Ebony over to Garnet, looking at James when he said he was sorry and said that he didn't like her speaking badly of Garnet. It was certainly fair, and she gave him a smile before looking towards Garnet since she apparently had something to say. When Garnet was done, she nodded, but when Garnet commented on her calling her a bad mother, she blinked. "I... wait, what? I never once called you a bad mother," she said, shaking her head slightly. "I was...quite uncomfortable at your place yesterday because just the lewdness and vulgarity of the conversation was far from what I'm accustomed to. I particularly didn't like..." Priscilla shifted uncomfortably, glancing away. "I didn't much like that you commented on my breasts. That...was uncalled for. But I did understand and appreciate that you don't want to see me get hurt by James and...I understand that I'm taking a risk choosing to be with him, but James makes me feel...so wonderful. Like I've never felt before. And I'm in love with him, and I want to be with him, and I want to see the kind of wonderful man I believe he can be," she said softly, a rather giddy smile on her lips. She held on to the letter a little nervously, looking at James. "And James, you should know I would never say anything bad to Ebony - about either of you. I mean... I may poke a little fun when I can, like when I told her that her mummy dresses her better than her daddy does, but I would never say anything bad. Really."

James sighed, "but saying you feel sorry for Ebony because of how Garnet is... was rude. You owe her an apology too... and Garnet swear to god don't call me dad." He said and she smiled. "Don't act like one and I won't, shit." She said and Ebony made an O shape with her mouth and looked at him. He tried hard not to chuckle. "I don't need your sass too, kid." He said and gently poked her cheek. When he turned back at Priscilla he smiled, "And you need to lighten up. Not everyone is going to be on your high horse. I am sure Garnet won't talk about your breast anymore..." He said and she nodded, "but calling people crude and lewd because they live differently is childish and I already have one kid... that I know of." He said and Garnet shook her head. "Dear god, James." She said and he shrugged, "Protections can break and you know... people don't want their kids knowing I am their father." He said and she sighed. "James... don't let her meet your guys or their wifes if she can't handle me talking about her breasts. They are going to tear her to shreds before they even leave. Hell, they gave me trouble for being me... and I am crude and lewd." She smirked.

Priscilla nodded when James told her that she owed Garnet an apology. She could certainly see why they would feel that way. She frowned when he said she needed to lighten up, but gave a small nod. A part of her wondered if he really loved her for who she was or if he loved her for the idea of who she might be once he was done changing things about her, but she tried to push it aside. She frowned at Garnet's comment about not letting her meet his guys or their wives, wondering who these people were and why they would tear her to shreds, but Garnet was probably right that it was best she not meet them. "Garnet, I'm sorry for what I said. I don't think you're a bad mother at all... I was just uncomfortable with all the vulgarity I had to hear yesterday, that's all. It was far from polite conversation and in the future I just...ask that we not stray so far from polite conversation. At least when I'm around, that is - and really, I'm not around often. I have my job, and I've other commitments outside of spending time with James. You likely won't see me much," she said.

Garnet nodded and looked at James, "I have to go to my shop and run errands... so I have to go. Say bye bye, baby girl." She said softly and Ebony made baby noises before screaming and looking at her father. "Okay okay, jeeze." He smirked and kissed her before watching Garnet walk out. He sighed, Garnet had a point. He couldn't take her around his business partners and their wives, maybe he just really wanted her for her v-card. When he looked back at her he saw the letter. "What's that?" He asked.

Priscilla waved at Ebony, giggling a bit at how angry she was about wanting James's attention. After Garnet left and James looked towards her and questioned her about the letter, she sighed. "I took Ebony with me earlier to pick up a couple things from my hotel room and they said a letter had arrived for me," she said, holding it out for him to take and read. "I wrote to the family I was staying with before I came here and I told them that I'd settled in, gotten a job, all those good things... I didn't say anything about you, not yet. But anyhow, they wrote back saying they were glad to hear from me, but...there's more," she said, clearly a little nervous.

In the letter, the noble family with whom she'd been staying said that a woman had come around asking about her. Apparently she'd visited Priscilla's paternal grandmother first, and her grandmother had directed her to the noble family that had taken Priscilla in after her parents had died. According to them, this woman was a royal knight from a far-off kingdom and when they'd asked why she was asking about Priscilla, she'd said that she was her sister. They said that she was certainly not Henrietta, though she did bear some physical similarities to Priscilla, but they knew she had no sister but Henrietta. She'd been very short with them and they were suspicious, but she'd been intimidating and they'd reluctantly told her where Priscilla was, which was why they were writing to her: to warn her that this strange woman was coming to the islands to seek her out, so she'd be ready to run, hide, face her, or whatever she chose to do.

James blinked and took the letter before reading it. He pressed his lips together to keep from smirking. "Okay then... well... you may have a sister. Nobel men are known to cheat... I have seen many in my profession... well before I took over my father's fucking throne. If she is asking for you, maybe meet her. Get it over with..." He said and handed the note back to her. "A knight though... maybe she won't be so... sensitive." He said and walked past her and to his office.
