Roshia let the snake wrap around her arm before she placed it in a safe spot. She stood back up and dusted her hands "It really concerns me that you would go buttnaked into a snowstorm. I get you are a... uhm brave type, but hey who am I to judge." She smiled. Her eye caught the glimmer of the sun on the water. "Ahh, so that is you littering our island. Glad to put a face to the monster." She walked down towards the river. "Oh you thought I was waiting for you? That is adorable, I was actually waiting for my one true love, but then when he didn't show I realized I was meant to be an independent single woman. Plus I am sure all those women who have tasted you would love you back." She turned around, walking backwards and winked. "Well since you are going to be following me around like an adorable white pupper I will like to set a few ground rules. If I hold my hand up like this," She held up her hand to demonstrate, "That means you have to be very quiet. And always stay behind me when I am shooting. I really rather not have the mayor pissed off because I shot his beloved son... nor would I want your many women to come after me. Also, don't be alarmed by the dragon running towards us. That is Cossie and he is my pet dragon I talked about last night."
Rowan just smiled and shook his head. "Well you're a sassy one for sure...I like it." He said. "Fine, I'll play along..As long as your dragon friend doesnt try to eat me. And that man was a fool, apparently. " He shook his head at the thought of such a boldly wishy washy man turning down a woman like the one standing in front of him. "A damn fool" He rolled his eyes and watched the dragon run up on them. "Well..I am ready when you two are. Lead on"
She smiled and his compliment and blushed. Roshia hoped he thought it was because of the heat. Cossie ran up to her first, before peeking over and looked at Rowan. Then he looked back at her like she had the audacity to bring someone who wasn't her father along. She petted him, "Sorry bud, I just couldn't leave this poor albino elk here all alone and defenseless." Cossie huffed and lead the way towards the bridge. He already knew what to do. They walked in silence for a bit, crossing over a bridge and into the wooded area. "We are going to be a bit far from your precious home, but we will be near the ruins. That is where I like to look for the pebbles and the plants I need grow only around there. Strange, but it is a beautiful site. It is where I go to get away from everything, except Cossie." She smiled and patted the dragon who seemed to smile back at her.
Roawn smiled and shook his head at her little comment and followed her past the bridge and into a heavily wooded area. He followed behind her quietly, careful not to make and loud noises, and never speaking until she spoke to him. "We are going to be a bit far from your precious home, but we will be near the ruins. That is where I like to look for the pebbles and the plants I need grow only around there. Strange, but it is a beautiful site. It is where I go to get away from everything, except Cossie." Rowan nodded. "Theres another small island like this with beautiful turquoise colored stones in one of its lake beds. The look almost glass like, theyre beautuful to look at when he sun sets and hits them just right." He said quietly. "Maybe if prince charming doesnt show up again, you'd let me take you some time to see them" He commented and raised an eyebrow at the woman "Cossie can even come along too, of course" He chuckled.
Roshia looked at him, "That sounds like a plan." On the way to the ruins she killed two squirrels and a rabbit. It was a bit harder to have him around, but it was company and she needed that maybe more than she ever knew. She had placed them in a special satchel Nasir and Elwin made for her so that she could do multiple things in the day and the meat wouldn't rot or smell.
They got to the entrance of the ruins. Roshia bent down and gently plucked some plants and placed them in another stachel before standing up and dusting her hands. "Okay now that we are done hunting for the day, tell me some stuff about you. I know you like to fish and play as an adventurer, but what is it that makes Rowan... Rowan?" She didn't look at him when she talked. Her eyes were on the ground and she stooped every now and again to pick up pebbles.
"Play adventurer?" Rowan scoffed. "I dont play, Ive been into some of the oldest runes around the Island, searched most of them, though theres still a lot to see out there, I collect little trinkets and such that i find. Theres just something so interesting about learning the way that the old inhabitants of the island lived. The things they believed in, you know? Its like a trip to the past sometimes. Occasionally I'll find things that are too big to take home, like old statues, wood carvings and such. I even got to find an old burial tomb. Didnt mess with that though, thats some bad Ju-Ju im not getting myself into....Anyways...I'm not sure what makes me who I am, i just live the way i want to and be who i want to be for now. Ive never really put much thought into why i am the way I am. Though I suppose i run around in the ruins so much because i spent a lot of time as a child locked up in the house. I was sick so i couldnt go out. But now that im well i do what i want..I guess." He shrugged and looked around at the ground and the surrounding ruins. "SO, what makes you...You?"
Roshia listened, picking pebbles as he talked, and occasionally looked at him. Lorelei was a sickly kid, that is why she is so into medicine and the such. She bit her lower lip, thinking, feeling bad for the man next to her. "That is a good question. I thought I knew at one point, I mean... I think a good part of it is still there. Wilderness is what makes me me. I can run through the trees like wind in the leaves. If I am by myself... or a more experience hunter... I can be so quiet that I wonder if I am there at all. I have a fighter spirit too I guess. I used to stand up for my twin brother until recently." She hadn't paid attention to where they were going when she looked up she notice she was in a place she never been before. She turned around and looked at the pale man next to her. "You remind me of my little sister, I mean she is pale, but she has some color to her. When she was a kid she was sickly too. Our sister Ameria had to make so many herbal medicines and stayed by her a good portion of the time. When she got better she followed Ameria's footsteps. She is a curious little girl who has accomplished much in such a small amount of time." She smiled softly, "To be a bit honest, I am a tad bit jealous of her."
"Well, I was born this pale, A lack of pigmentation they call it, along with an auto-immune disease that kept me from meeting even my own grandparents until i was around six years old...I'm glad to hear your sister is doing well now, but why are you jealous? Youre a skilled hunter arent you? Give yourself more credit for that, not everyone can do things like you do. I certainly cant" He said. "Is that why you were at the tavern? Something happened with your brother?" He asked cocking his head slightly to one side as he looked at her. "You dont have to tell me if you dont want to" Rowan walked forward, he knew where they were. He lead her through the trees to the edge of the island they were on and sat down and pointed across the way where you could see a waterfall, flowing right off the side of a very tiny island that floated about a mile away from them.
Roshia smiled softly, ""well now look at you. You are hopping around like never before...and" She looked back, "you have a bunch of women chasing after you." She sat down next to Rowan and Cossie flopped next to her. "Thanks...and it is more like brothers. Some things happened...and my twin caught something that was happening and... I cut my twin off last night. Might not seem like much, but for a twin it is like cutting half of yourself off." Roshia looked at the breathtaking waterfall. It was beautiful. Her green eyes shined with the light.
"Nah, most women just wonder what there parents would think if they brought me home, and those that do chase are after my family name, since my father is the mayor its a social class thing. I tend to ignore it though. "He sighed. "Ahhh i see, well i cant offer any words of wisdom other than that i guess everything happens for a reason. And we cant change things that have already happened. Alll you can do is move on and live the best you can with the decisions you make. No use in dwelling on it forever, i guess. I dont know what its like to have a twin though, so im not the best source of comfort i suppose." He said as laid back in the grass with his arms stretched out. "But either way, if you need a new place to escape to, you can always come find me and we'll go somewhere, ok?"
Roshia nodded, she agreed with him. She watched him lay back and decided to do the same. "I give your advice skills an eight out of ten. You tried, little one.' She giggled. "I have met one of your fangirls before. My twin brother makes clothes and he was making a dress for the daughter of some fancy smancy woman and he dragged me there for support. The girl was horrible, but once she saw me it is like she forgot how to talk. I think it might have been because I glared at her, but either way. Her and her friends wouldn't shut up about the mayor's son. Handsome this, talented that, and if they were to marry you everyone would know them. At a certain point I tuned them out, but...honestly I don't know where I was going with that. Maybe that I have heard of you before." She stopped talking and made grass angels.
"Yeah i hear about that alot. It would be different if my dad wasnt an important political figure, and if we didnt have a lot of money. Its more of a status thing than a looks thing, Ive met women who will laugh at the way i look to my face and then act all swept off their feet and in love once they learn who i am. I cant stand shallow people like that. Theres more to people than their looks and their wealth. I'm glad youre different. Unless youre playing me, which i mean, that would suck serious dragon berries, but it wouldnt be the first time" Rowan closed his eyes and rolled onto his side facing Roshia. "Its kinda nice just to have someone to hang out with, who doesnt expect anything from you" He kept his eyes closed and listened to the wind blow the grass and the birds singing.
Roshia listened, looking up at the sky, and watching the clouds roll by. He had turned on his side, facing her. His eyes were closed and he looked so peaceful... like set snow. Smiling she whispered, "The only thing I expect from you is wearing clothes when it snows." She closed her eyes then. She found her new favorite place. She could bring her camping gear and camp with Cossie when the village was becoming too much for her.
Elwin walked with Atlas not really saying anything. His mind was on what he could write in the letter to Roshia. It seemed like no time when they got to the village. "I bet your little brothers been going nuts waiting for cake" Atlas chuckled. Elwin looked up and smiled, "Probably, they are lovers of sweets. Kind of funny since my sisters like them, but won't eat a lot of it. I remember stashing sweets from my brothers and saving them for later. I am sure they will love it." He laughed at the memory. "Did you need to take Roshia's cake to her house first?" He asked quietly. Elwin nodded, "How about you go over to my parent's and I will be there in a bit. Want to write her a note by the cake." He pointed towards his parent's house. "Just in case you forgot." He smiled before walking towards Roshia's house.
Elwin hoped she wouldn't be home. It would be awkward if he just walked in and there she was. He had peeked in the window and saw nothing. Slowly opening the door he looked around, "Roshia, are you here?" He asked. Waiting a few moments he decided she was still out when he placed the cake on the table and searched for a pen and paper. It took a lot longer than he would have liked, but he found one and sat down to write.
Dear Roshia, my dearest twin,
I have no words to describe on how sorry I am for hurting you last night. It was uncalled for. I wish I could have explained it better to you when I could have, but I was so afraid of making you angry that in the end I made you hate me. It is the worst thing to have you completely cut me off. What I wanted to do, and maybe save was a bad word, was protect you the way you have protected me all my life. I knew that if you continued down the road with Nasir that it would end badly. Father had a hard time accepting me and I was afraid of what he would do if he found out that you and Nasir... anyway, your secret is safe with me. I know you can't trust me, I have become the thing you hate the most. I stabbed you in the back while you stood in front of me to protect you, but I am so damn sorry. I never wanted you to get hurt. I never wanted any of this to happen. I just wanted you to be safe and to not experience the hurt I had to endure... and yet I did just that. I was the one to hurt you the most. I know it is selfish to ask you to forgive me, so I won't. I baked you a cake and decorated it with your favorite flower, I did it all by myself and I promise it isn't poisoned, Atlas showed me what to do. I hope you enjoy.

He placed the note next to the cake and whipped the tears that rolled down his cheeks before leaving the house. He closed the door, trying to compose himself, and walked over to his parent's house.
Atlas wandered over to Elwins parents house and waited for Elwin since he didnt figure it would take super long, and he felt weird showing up at Elwins parent's home alone since he was still technically a stranger. As he waited he hoped that Elwin wasnt having a super hard time with the note and that Roshia would accept his letter and gift of cake. "It was a pretty tasty cake" He thought to himself. Atlas sat down in the grass in the shade near the home and waited for Elwin to come along. When he did, he got up and knocked on the door and waited for an answer.
Elwin got to Atlas and smiled, "All done, you ready to go in?" He knocked on the door and his mother answered.
"Elwin! It is great to see you and you brought your friend again." She gave him a wink and let him in. They walked in. "What brings you two here? Missed me already?" She joked.
"We brought cake for you all." He said.
"CAKE!" Agis yelled from his room. The sound of feet hitting the floor echoed and he ran into the kitchen.
"Calm down, boy. Bel and my husbands are in the fields and won't be back for sometime, but they will be so happy to have cake when they get back. Thank you so much." His mother said.
Rowan laughed at Roshias little comment. "I cant promise you that it wont happen" He said rolling over onto his back and laughing some more. He sat up and looked at the sky. "Ahhh I've got to be getting home so I can go back to work, c'mon, I'll take you back to where we met so you know the way home." He said as he stood up and held out a hand to her, helping her up off of the ground. "Let me take you to the pond with the pretty stones sometime, okay? Maybe in a couple days...We'll go at sunset so you can see how the setting sun makes the stones glow in the water" He said as he walked along with her. Eventually they made it back to the spot where they had met earlier in the morning. "Well I guess I'll see you around huh?" He said.
Roshia smiled and grabbed his hand. They walked and talked."I would love to go to this place of yours and maybe, if you keep littering the land.." She smiled and waved as he walked away. She made her way back to her house and saw the cake, then she read the letter. Her hand gripped the letter before throwing it in the trash and grabbed a fork before going ham on the cake.
Rowan said goodbye to Roshia and began his walk home, thinking about the day. "Man...I really need to litter the land more often." He chuckled to himself. He got back home, showered and got dressed and then began his usual days business in dealing with festivity planning and dealing with annoying people who wanted to have his family name.
"Its good to see you again, Mrs. Keavaris" Atlas said as he greeted the woman and entered the home. He chuckled as Agis yelled about cake and ran into the kitchen. "Yes, cake! Are you ready?" Atlas asked Agis as he set the cakes out in their boxes on the table. He counted them out, making sure he had all of them. "Yup, theyre all here. Theres a few different flavors, so just pick whatever you like, the boxes have the flavors written on top. Oh and I brought the list for your husband" Atlas said to Elwins mother.
Elwin looked at Atlas, "I can put that in his study and mom can let him know when he gets back." He said as he got the list from Atlas and left to go to his father's office and placing it on his desk before returning. "Well we wanted to deliver the cake. I will show him around." Everyone said their goodbye, Agis tried to with a mouthful of cake and the walked out the door.
Atlas stopped Elwin before they walked too far from the house by grabbing his hand and stopping. "Elwin, I'd love to stay and get shown around, but I have to go back and open the cafe, I'm already a little late, which is fine since no one that lives in the city is up this early...But I really should be going. I had fun with you this morning, we gotta do that again soon. Next time we can do something of your choosing okay?" Atlas smiled then flashed quite the evil smirk before pecking Elwin on the cheek before stepping away. "You better come visit me at the cafe!" He said as he flashed a huge grin at Elwin before he turned and jogged away down the path leading up to the city. He ran back to the cafe and opened everything up, ready for the day ahead of him.
"I am so sorry, I completely forgot." He said, blushing. He was embarrassed. Elwin nodded he was going to wave Atlas goodbye when he got a kiss on the cheek. He froze, "S-Sure." The blushed fire haired man watched as the guy he was crushing on jogged away. His hand covered the cheek that Atlas kissed and smiled before walking to his house.
Elwin took his coffee with delight. "Ohh, coffee. I needed this like you wouldn't believe. I am going to have to pay you later." He took a sip and smirked up at him. "I look forward to spending the day with you there. Just... expect stares. People aren't as friendly as I would like them to be." He said softly.
His mother open the door, "Today is just full of surprises! Come in come in." She ushered them in. "What brings you two love birds here? I actually welcome you all with open arms. It has been real busy. Everyone is out and about. Just me here..."
"Ahh i wouldnt worry about it, let them stare. Theyll wake up dazed and confused on the ground if they try anything physical." Atlas said. "Its nice to see you again Mrs. Keavaris" Atlas said with a smile. "I brought treats for the family, cookies for the kiddos and chocolate truffles for the adults." He said as he walked in and set the treats down at the table. "How has everyone been?" He asked once he had gotten the boxes of goodies out.
