Setting
Ofelia, the dragon trainer, operates her dragon ranch here.
She took a swig from her drink and waited a moment to answer. "Second to youngest sister, Roshia. She is marrying Rowan. Two people who denied people left and right... end up marrying each other." Haera laughed. She took another swig and looked at her. "Didn't fancy you for a wedding type."
Elwin and Roshia waited behind the treeline for Atlas and Ameria. "Where are they?" Roshia asked,
worried. Elwin had not the slightest idea, but he was wondering why Atlas was taking so long with Ameria. That doubt that had seemed to disappear suddenly arose. He was about to say something to Roshia when Nasir walked by. "Hey have you seen Atlas and Amaria?" He asked, but Nasir didn't even look at him. He looked conflicted. Roshia and Elwin looked at each other, worried more now than ever.
Elwin saw Atlas walking towards them, but the way he walked seemed different. There wasn't much bounce to his step. Then he saw Ameria walk by with a smile, giving a small wave and then heading out to the group that was waiting for the bride. He pulled Atlas aside and whispered, "What happened?" He asked. Roshia looked over to the two, worried on her face. She was willing to hold the wedding up to make sure Atlas was alright.
Natilia paused to take another drink. "I didn't come to town for a wedding though I was hoping to get up a group of able bodies...take up where me last group fell behind...or it be more accurate to say fell below...damn ruins broke right though to the sky whole damn party fallin to the blue..."
Natilia sighed almost looking sad " I found a new way in them ruins though...a safer way...."
Natilia looked to the ground "But probably bad timing now with the whole town comin out for a hitchin."
Natilia looked at Haera all serious now "I am invited to this shindig right lassie?"
Elwin stared at him for a moment, still clearly worried. No one talked about recipes for that long, but it was clear he wanted it dropped. "Ah so you are going to be busy... well maybe another time and no... no you didn't hold us up." He spoke softly, looking down at the ground. It took a moment before Elwin looked up, "You should go get a seat before it starts. I will be holding her train when she walks." He finally said.
Roshia and Elwin got ready, the band had begun to play. Roshia slowly walked down the aisle, like any other bride would do. She felt nervous and like she was going to puke again. She looked around, all eyes on her, but then her eyes landed on Rowan and she wanted to laugh, because it was just like him to look over the top Mr. Fancy. Elwin helped her, holding the train so it wouldn't completely drag the ground. He smiled, looking at everyone, but landed his eyes on Atlas. He was worried. They got to the front and Elwin hurried to Atlas. Roshia smiled and took Rowan's hands, her's shaking. They said their vows, slipped rings on, and kissed. Roshia was a mess. She hadn't really actually kissed Rowan since that god awful night or good night... she really couldn't remember the details. Everyone cheered and walked with them back to the village to celebrate.
Roshia was glad that part was over now she just had to hide the pregnancy for a few weeks. Couldn't be that hard right? She met his parents and loved how happy go they were. She only ever met the Mayor once, so it was nice not to have to feel so formal around them. His mother was precious and reminded her of her own. Her parents came walking up, well her father did, her mother ran. She congratulated them and so did everyone that was there. When the party started to settle down she pulled Rowan to the side. "So uhm, congrats on getting married. You did great up there, didn't look too nervous. Just a little pale." She laughed softly. "Also want to thank you for the gift. It is beautiful. I appreciate it and you doing this. You are a great man and I love that about you." She blushed.
The wedding was beautiful and he wished he could have been one hundred percent there, but he was so worried about Atlas.
He had zoned out once it started. He knew what something was going on and he was hiding it from him, which he said he wouldn't keep things from him. Once the wedding was over Elwin grabbed Atlas' hand and dragged him off into the trees away from the village. "Atlas, please tell me what is going on. You are zoning out... what is keeping you away?" He asked.
Elwin slipped his hand away. "You said you would be honest with me, so what is with this bullshit?" He was getting pissed. Why couldn't he be honest. "You sure wasn't worried about it earlier. You only started to act like this after you stayed behind... with Ameria... what happened with her? And I mean the damn truth, Atlas." His voice was shaking along with his hands.
Elwin went quiet for a moment. "Right, well. You did you part here. You can go on home and finish those reports. I will bring your box of stuff later." He didn't want to stay and continue this with him. If he didn't want to talk about it that was on him. He was right, he had his sister's wedding to attend to.
She blushed. They hadn't been very touchy with each other. His hands were warm. People were watching which just made her blush even more. "I am glad my mental pain turns you on so much. I will remember that for later." She laughed. Then she tried to get him to blush, "Your lips are very soft... and addicting." She wasn't lying though. Now she wondered how many people he had kissed before her, but she pushed the thought aside.
Roshia was okay with hiding in his chest and dancing. She was actually enjoying her wedding. She couldn't believe that she had gotten married... and pregnant, not in that order, but still. Rowan was the guy every girl wanted and she could see why. Though she couldn't care less about his, their, last name. She inhaled him, he smelled sweet. "I am glad you know how to dance, it would be ashamed for the mayor son to have two left feet." She whispered into his chest. She could hear his heartbeating, even with the music playing.
She laughed, totally understanding where he was coming from. "Ah, I know all about that. My family had to brag me into going with food. I should make me an award that says "Won the Unwinnable" I mean... nevermind, forget I said that." She blushed and pulled away from him when the song ended. Some of the people had left or was in the process of it. "Uhm... what do we do after this?" She whispered.
She was going to suggest staying at one or the other's house but was interrupted by his mother. She covered her mouth to try and not laugh. The woman was a blessing. "You heard your mother, we have to consummate the marriage." She smiled brightly and watched as his parents walked away. "Your home or mine?" She asked.
She giggled, "Oh man... I don't if I can say no to being checked on and cookies. It would make me feel like I was a kid again." She took his hand and brought her to her own home. Cossie looked up for a moment before getting up and heading to the guest room. "Glad to see you too jerk. He is still mad that I got married. He will learn to love you." She said turning to him and froze, realizing that she was in her home with her husband.
