Setting
Kel woke up early to pull his kart to the festival grounds. He found his spot near the main stage and began setting up his equipment. He had three large casks with his most popular summertime brews; a lemon and lavender infused ale, a strong raspberry distilled liqueur and a light mint vodka tonic. In addition to his popular brews, he also had several bottles of the more common alcohols and a few specialty spirits.
He posted his hand-painted sign on the top of the booth so everyone would know that the alcohol came from his tavern. He put a chair down to relax. It was still early so he knew most people wouldn't be drinking yet, but he'd be prepared for when they were.
"Now I just sit back and wait for the business to roll in."
Akayia wanted to ask a few more questions but she noticed another coming up so she just asked, " How much do I owe you sir?"
Akayia leaned her staff against the counter as she pulled out her money bag the clinging of coins heard as she opened the bag.
Elwin had finally got to the cafe when he say a fairy flying about. He tilted his head before smiling and walking in. He say his sister waiting to talk to Atlas but he was talking to some other girl. He looked to the side and saw Rowan, the guy his sister was marrying tomorrow and possibly pregnant for. He gave approval all over again when he say the snowman. He was very pale in contrast to Atlas. Walking up to Rowan he sat down where Roshia was sitting. "So you are the lucky guy who snagged the girl who said she would never marry, lucky you. I am Elwin, Roshia's twin." He said holding out his hand and shaking it. He leaned in and whispered, "I know about the whole situation and wanted to thank you for doing what you did. She was in a real pickle and you literally saved her." He sat back and laughed.
Roshia smiled sympathetically. "I know you were gracious enough to do the wedding cake, but Rowan was wondering if you could also cater? Also, do you know someone who could wed us? I know you have done some weddings, right? I am so sorry for bugging you." She spoke nervously.
Roshia thanked him and turned, hurrying over to the girl before she left the cafe. "Hi! I am Roshia and I was wondering if you happen to be a priest? If not I am so sorry, but if you are could you do me the biggest favor? I am getting married tomorrow and am desperately looking for someone to wed us. I will pay whatever you charge! ." She begged.
Elwin smiled, he was indeed a good guy. He watched as his sister ran towards the girl behind Atlas, "The only one I know is the one at the church, but he does this prayer thing for the summer tomorrow, but it looks like Roshia might have that figured out." He chuckled, watching his sister beg a random stranger, before glancing at Atlas and then going back to looking at his sister.
Akayia just shrugged taking her bag of eats and staff and started for the door. She was about to the door when the lady that was behind her in line came up and spoke to her.
It took Akayia a few seconds to register what all the young woman was asking. "I um well not really a priestess per say... I am Akayia a monk from the Temple of the Four Winds. I have seen others of my order wed people...and I can though I have never done one....In all truth I am barely out of my training. Does your town not have a clergy of it's own more qualified?"
Roshia frowned. "No, our only one is booked for some prayer thing. Sorry to have bothered you." She said quietly before returning to Rowan and saw Elwin. "Oh, hey. Stop trying to steal my man, you have your own." She teased, forcing a smile on. She was officially stressed. Elwin laughed, "I promise I am not, are you okay?" She said nothing, but smiled.
There was a bit of nervousness in her voice but she kept a straight face. "Oh and don't worry about pay my only request is that the wedding can be done somewhere my fairy friend Sylvia can be as well."
Roshia had turned around and looked at the monk girl. "We can do that with you! It is no problem. We are having it by the lake and it is free to have your cute little fairy there. I am sure my mother would die to see her. We haven't seen one since I was a kid. Anyway this is my fiance, maybe we can talk sometime before the wedding tomorrow... or is that too late?" Roshia had placed a hand on Rowan's shoulder gently.
Elwin had saw the face Atlas made, but pretended he didn't see it. He didn't know how to feel about it. When Atlas walked over to him and placed his coffee next to him Elwin smiled. "Hey" He said looking up.
He wondered why there was such a rush for the wedding, especially since no one had seemed to know that the two were even courting. He pushed the curiosity out of his mind for the moment and turned back to Elwin.
Elwin listened and blushed, but nodded. He excused himself from the conversation and walked out with Atlas. He couldn't get the image of him going swimming with Atlas. He already saw Atlas shirtless, but him. He was so white compared to everyone and though he was toned, he didn't feel comfortable being uncovered. "To the beach?" He asked and started to walk towards the beach. He knew a spot that was good and away from the prying eyes. It was one thing in front of Atlas, but in front of everyone else? He shivered at the thought.
Roshia slipped her hand off of him and pulled a seat up for the monk and she sat in the her original seat. "Sure, I am free. Wait, what about your fairy? Go give her what you bought her. We can make this quick. What exactly do you need to know?" Roshia asked, never looking at Rowan the whole time. Her hands were under the table. She played with the ring before pulling if off and just holding it. She was nervous.
"What took so long?" Pouted Sylvia as she saw Akayia.
"I was just asked to do a wedding...." Akayia started
"WEDDING! I LOVE WEDDINGS!" Shouted Sylvia so loud they could most likely hear her inside the cafe and half a block away.
"Yes, yes." Said Akayia with a chuckle. "Now I have to go back in and talk to them for a bit but I got you this..."
Akayia broke up Sylvia's food and gave it to her.
"Thank you! Thank you! " The happy fairy said before diving into her meal.
Knowing Sylvia was lost to her food Akayia headed back into the cafe. "Well she is definitely happy now." Akayia said as she took her place at the table.
Rowan smiled at the monk. "Well I'm glad your little friend is happy now. Sorry she cant come in, but I'm afraid its the rules in the city.."He said before looking over at Roshia, something was off with her. Rowan decided to ask her about it later. Rowan began telling the monk about the wedding venue, time, and the music he had set up earlier, and that it would be a pretty simple, laid back kind of thing.
Ofelia had finished her chores for the day and so she headed inside and took a shower before laying out her pale blue Dress and Jewelry. She tied her hair up into a braided bun and put on simple eyeliner, mascara, and blush and a subtle berry pink lip stick. Once she had gotten dressed and ready to go she put on her favorite fragrance and set out to town. Ofelia was very nervous, she hadnt ever sang in front of this many people before. Upon arriving at the festivals main center, she saw a booth that the local tavern had set up. She decided a drink to calm her nerves wouldnt be a terrible idea. "Hello? Got anything to calm nerves that wont leave me feeling tipsy?" She asked the man behind the booth.
Roshia sat through most the discussion. She talked when she needed to, but she excused herself before leaving and walking out of the cafe. She needed to get away. She wasn't feeling too well anyway. Roshia worked her way through people and headed for the village. She couldn't stand to be in the city for another moment. Just as she got to the lake she hid behind a tree and puked her stomach. "I don't know if it is the nerves or you." She said, talking to her unborn child. She ran her hand over her stomach. She made her way to the tree line that separated her family's property and the public. Roshia sat down behind the tree so no one could see her.
