Leliana sighed heavily and stared out of the window trying not to listen to her mother drone on about the latest ball that was to happen.
"Leliana! Are you listening to me?" her mother snapped. Leliana glanced at her mother before going back to the view of the rose gardens.
"Not really," she admitted. Leliana's mother stood up and smoothed down her dress, "Well if you don't believe I'm worth listening to then you can spend your time doing something useful," she glared. Baroness Montague was a perfect example of a lady. She walked with her head held high, she spoke clearly and with perfect diction, her hair was never out of place and she was always clean and presentable. The baroness wanted only one thing from life and that was to see her only daughter be married off to a man of high station. She cared little for love and even less for her daughter's desires. Ever since she had caught her daughter skulking about in the fields with one of the servant boys four years ago she had kept her daughter on a very tight leash.
"I want you to go and study your tenses, you've been very sloppy with your perfect and imperfect tenses of late," she scolded.
"Which language?" Leliana asked.
"French, though it wouldn't hurt to go other the Latin while you're at it." Leliana stood and curtsied, "As you wish Mother." Although she spoke politely and smiled brightly Leliana's voice held a barely concealed layer of venom. As rgid as a board she walked past her mother and out of the drawing room. As soon as she was away from her mother's fiery gaze she relaxed. She gathered up her skirts and started sprinting to her room.
"Sorry Martha!" she called apologetically to the dumpy maid who she had nearly knocked over. As soon as she was in her room and had slammed the door behind her she started undressing. She stripped down to her petticoat, a simple white dress with pink ribbons sewed on at the hem. It went down to her ankles and covered her bosom respectfully but going out in such a simple attire would still cause a lot of commotion. Leliana cared little about what others thought of her however and so she slipped on her riding boots and quietly slipped out onto her balcony. She knew she would get in trouble with her mother later but she did not care.
Leliana descended down the wall with practised ease, clinging to the thick ivy that grew all the way up the side of the manor. As soon her feet touched the ground she started taking the pins out of her hair until was no longer coiled around her head like a sleeping snake and instead flew free of its cage flowing in the wind. Lifting the hem of her dress so that it didn't trail in the mud she started running towards the stable. Giving a quick nod to the nervous groomsman she leaped onto the back of her horse Gregoir. With a click of her tongue the horse leapt from its stall and soon the two were flying across the fields with Leliana's hair streaming behind like a banner of liquid mahogony. It was unthinable for a lady to sit astride a horse like a man especially without a saddle but Leliana cared not one bit about the rules of society.
Her father would laugh and refer to her as a free spirit but her would mother would burst into tears whenever she caught her daughter acting out of turn.
"You'll never get married! Do you want to end up a poor spinster with not a penny to your name?" she would always say. To which Leliana would respond, "I care not if I am as rich as a king or as poor as a beggar. As long as I have my freedom I shall be happy!"
Leliana refused to be married, or at least to any of the suitors her mother picked out. All were shallow beasts who cared for nothing but a vast dowry and an heir. Leliana was through with it and decided that the only way to be free of her mother's tyranny was to flee her home and perhaps venture to London. Perhaps, from there she could take a boat and venture to see new lands and meet new people. People who did not care for money and beng the at the top of the social ladder. People who knew material goods were nothing compared to freedom, love and happiness.
Today was not the day to go on an adventure however but soon. Soon Leliana would gather the bare essentials and set out on an epic journey going wherever the wind would take her.
Gregoir slowed, panting heavily and Leliana slipped off his back giving him a hefty pat on the neck. She approached the lake with confidance. It was here that she could truly relax and be herself amongst the tranquil surroundings. She climbed the oak tree that had been her throne since she was but a little girl. The branch had practially molded to her shape from the number of hours that she had sat here merely gazing out at the lake deep in thought. Sometimes Leliana would even bring an easel and paints and spend the day painting landscapes picture or portraits of the local wildlife. It was while she was sitting on the branch that the strangest thing happened. Leliana was transported to another time and place.
It happened so abrubtly Leliana didn't even have time to yell. A birght light suddenly flashed, blinding her with its intensity and she fell from the branch and collided with cold, hard concrete. Leliana was knocked out and remained unconcious for several hours.

After taking a few steps to regain her footing she watched as a light grew a few feet away shining in the air. It looked as if the space around it was being sucked into a tiny black space. Before Hattie could approach it a mass fell through, a woman, and slammed to the ground. The light disappeared in a flash, leaving behind yet another victim.
Shaking her hand out to gain his attention as she slowly stepped toward the girl she called out to him, "Hey Signore, it looks like we have another one here, though she might not be so lucky. Fell right out of the damn sky. And look, she said lifting up a piece of the woman's strange clothing, "she got blood all over her pretty pretty dress. After wiping her hands on her knees she stood and stepped away from the girl, "She's all yours, I don't do well with... she looked back over her shoulder at the woman, "...floozies. I'll go find the bambino and meet you there."
Her hips swayed as she walked away from the girl and Dom. Looking back she tossed Dom a little wave before leaving his line of sight.
"By the way, the names Hattie."

It didn't take long for her to find the mound, and the boy. This one was dress like a pirate. Hattie stifled her laugh as she stepped around the corner, "And what the hell are you supposed to be?"

"By the way, the names Hattie." Ace overheard voices. He got up, and someone stepped around the corner, "And who the hell are you supposed to be?" Ace looked at her. Strange, where was that strange Dom man? Maybe he was over there. Ace looked at her, "I'm Ace, Ace D. Portgus, do you know what's going on here?" He ran towards her, and looked around the corner, to see Dom standing over a woman with a dress covered in blood.

"Do you know what's going on?" Ace felt like panicking again. He looked around, Luffy was gone, he didn't even notice when Luffy left, "And have you seen my monkey? He better not be dead..." Ace said looking back at the mound to make sure he didn't leave Luffy there. Maybe Luffy fell off when he was running away from the creepy monster, was he eaten? Ace usually wasn't afraid when Luffy wandered out on his own, but this time, they were in unknown territory, and he was worried sick.
