Description
ROOM V or ROOM 5 is company of mercenaries numbering about 3300. The company itself is the creation of Thomas Jackson, a soldier turned buisiness man. It specifically seeks out and recruits outcasts, and undesirables to fill it's ranks, the only requirements are that the candidate has been trained from a young age, and has no land, title, or family.
The company sends representatives into war torn regions to investigate potential buisiness leads, and if neccessary, secure footholds. The representatives perform contracts until enough information is gathered. The Company is then contacted and if the situation is ripe enough, the entire company enters the stage and picks a side, sometimes several. (often it's the highest bidder, but there are always exceptions).
Being for hire more or less means that every action taken by the company and it's representatives must be for profit. Gold is prefered, but often time payment can come in the form of political favors, personal favors, artifacts and information.
Structure (ranks)
Candidate - lowest rank
Fighter - Basic Faction soldiers who fight on the front lines.
Archers
Swordsmen
Lancers
Light Cavalry
Operative/Representative - Single units who work contracts.
Commander (Commands 4 other operatives)
Captain (Commands 10 other Commanders)
Leader/Founder (Thomas Jackson)
Special Unit
Duelist - A unit whose primary goal during a large engagement is to find and eliminate the enemy command structure. Turning a formerly organized opponent into a demoralized uncoordinated mob. The specific soldiers within the duelist unit are highly trained and specialize in one on one fighting while acting on their own. When fighting in a unit they are a battlefield force to be reckoned with. Typically fighting in heavy armor to protect against arrows, swords and sheilds for close fighting against infantry, and lances for fighting cavalry (since enemy commanders and leaders are rarely on foot).
Once the enemy brain is dispatched the rest of the enemy force is cleaned up by the clients standing forces or the rest of the Company.
There are several rules associated with being a member of Room V
1. All orders from a senior member of company must be obeyed.
2. All contracts accepted must be completed by any means unless payment is forfeited and returned.
3. Members must not be heir to any lands or titles.
4. Members must have no family.
5. Any non-company work (ie personal matters) must be settled either before a contract is accepted or after it has been completed or cancelled.
6. Any greivences against other company members must be brought to the attention of Mr Jackson. You are not permitted to kill or maim any other member of the company except with approval by Mr Jackson.
