Warriors of a World

Warriors of a World

Warriors from every country in the island continent of Dalaris gather together in times of peace to share their knowledge and work to keep the peace going as long as possible.

3,565 readers have visited Warriors of a World since Blacklight1991 created it.

Introduction

Hello everyone and Welcome! Here's a bit about Dalaris:

It's actually two continents, one smaller than the other, with a total of six countries and dozens of different cultures. I am limiting this roleplay to four players, so obviously not all of these are going to be used, but multiple characters are encouraged.

Regarding technology: I don't mind computers, or machines, but there will be no modern weapons. Blades, staffs, magic, hand-to-hand, anything but guns. Also, on the island, there is no internet, cable, or any connectivity with the outside world. There are two televisions, and they are only set up for movies. There is electricity, but only inside the house, and there are no motorized boats allowed on the island. Of course, there is indoor plumbing, so I'm not sending everyone back to the pioneer days, but please respect these limits on technology, and remember that batteries DO run out.

The situation:

Dalaris has endured generations of war and has finally settled. This new peace, however, is tenuous. Countries and cultures were so segregated, so set against each other, that treaties and agreements have been difficult to maintain. To keep war from breaking out again, the leaders of each country have decided to send their top people from each major field: Education, Engineering/Construction, Merchant, Magic, and Military. The purpose is to promote understanding. No one in these groups are allowed to kill each other, or leave their assigned places unless an emergency requires their specialty.

Each group is sent to the central island, and a house is assigned to each group. The houses are spread apart, and it is a large island, but by no means is one group prevented from encountering another.

This RP is focused on the Military group, where highly skilled fighters were chosen from different disciplines. There will be four players, multiple characters are encouraged, but each character must be approved separately.

ADDED NOTE: If one player has two separate characters that are in different places, the player can choose to post those characters separately.

Your Character Sheet:

Name of Country: (You don't need to know everything about it yet, just the name and a short synopsis)
Name of Character: (Make it pronounceable. This can be a nickname, or a tag if your character likes to be mysterious.)
Physical Description: (No pictures please. If it helps you keep things straight, keep a picture in your own files)
Personality: (This is not to be used IC by anyone. It is purely so that I can understand if your character has enough to them.)
Weapon of Choice: (No modern weapons unless approved)
Other weapons:
General Demeanor: (How does your character move based on his/her fighting style. Quick and bouncy, slow and purposeful? Give a little detail here.)
Other Hobbies and Interests: (This can be knitting, fishing, philosophy, whatever. People are more than just their occupation.)
Background: (Again, not to be used IC unless you reveal it IC. Just need to know it’s being thought through.)

Background is changeable. As characters develop, you may find that something in their background doesn’t work, or needs tweaked a little bit. Please edit your character information when this happens.
Personality can be added to, but once something’s on there, please don’t take it off unless you really need to.
Weapons, even Weapons of Choice (WOC), can be changed. As your warrior encounters different styles and weapons, he/she may find one more suited to him/her. The same goes with the way your character moves. If you’re learning a new discipline of fighting, or your character behaves differently once they’re familiar with the situation, etc. For Weapons and movement, don’t delete this information from your profile. Just underline it, put it in parentheses, or otherwise let us know it’s old before adding the new information in normal font.

Add specifications to your character sheet if you want to, and submit! Once accepted, the only real thing to do is have fun an keep it real!

Toggle Rules

1) Okay, and this one should be obvious: NO GODMODDING.

2) I am going to take rule number one a step further. This is a roleplay involving experienced warriors, fighters of every nation. However: I do not allow guns or any weapon that requires gunpowder, explosives, or modern technology. Blades of any kind, psychic powers (be reasonable), hand-to-hand combat, blunt weapons, etc. are allowed. If you have any questions, PM me. You should get a response fairly quickly.

3) Your character cannot be unbeatable. I don't require that you post your character's weaknesses in the profile, but you will have to know them or figure them out as your character develops.

4) I reserve the right to ban anyone from this roleplay. The only reasons I will do this are:
1, Attacking other players Out Of Character (OOC)
2, continuously breaking the first three rules, which all say the same thing,
3, if you don't post for a long time, you will be given the boot. If you know you won't be able to return, either make your character go somewhere or post it in the OOC to let us know. If your character is in the middle of the action, you MUST take him/her out of it before an absence, otherwise everyone else will have to ignore your character, which doesn't work well for the overall roleplay. There are only going to be three of us, so we might be able to put the RP on pause, but if it's paused too long because of one person that person will be asked to leave. Again, sorry, but I'm not letting the RP die because one person stopped. If this happens, I will kill off, remove, or take over that player's characters and look for a new player.
and 3, Since this is a character driven roleplay, I do get frustrated with people that can't keep their characters straight. I understand that new ideas come and ideas are revised, but once you decide your character is a grumpy, black-haired man that wields a short sword and hates psychics, he stays a grumpy, black-haired man that wields a short sword and hates psychics. This can only be changed through some event that happens In Character (IC).

Of course, if you're getting close to pushing one of these buttons, I will let you know far in advance.

5) The main purpose of this roleplay is a character building exercise. There isn't really any big bad guy to defeat. There isn't a specific plotline, just a backstory and we work from there. Plot will develop as our characters interact, any World problems will be added later.

6) Not really a rule, just saying that I'm not a babysitter. I expect everyone to behave, and if there are any issues between players, only come to me if you've already tried working it out between yourselves.

7) Metagaming is encouraged. If you want your character to have met another beforehand, contact that player OOC or with a PM and work it out. With people, there are always clicks and groups that grow together, people who have met before (sometimes under less than ideal circumstances) and sparks/intrigue does fly around. If you want to plot with one player to prank another, or work out a plan for chores. I would like to be notified if anyone is planning any drastic decisions, such as creating a main villain, altering the World circumstances, big things like that.

8) Make a note or something that this RP will be played according the the schedules of the players. So far, it looks like weekends are good. I'll change this if weekdays open up.

9) On Post Length: Keep it descriptive. I don't like to see one-liners unless there's a lot of dialogue and you have to wait for another character to respond.

10) Please, and I mean PLEASE, send me a PM if I break any of my own rules. Write it in all caps, underlined and bold. And don't hesitate to PM me or post in the OOC about metagaming, questions on the RP, or just to ask what the hell's going on.

The boat pushed off, quietly making its way back to Aralissya before the sun could set. River stood on the shore, staring up at the two story "cabin" that had been built for this meeting and couldn't help but sigh. He was the first to arrive, by arrangement, and his upper lip curled at the warmly glowing sprawl. Every lamp was lit, and the weather had been wonderful for weeks.

Spring had come easily to the entire Southeast of Dalaris. In a few weeks it would be summer, but River left the lamps on as he ascended the stone steps leading from beach to house. The railings were finely carved with vines and flowers, but his hand didn't touch them. He didn't look down, either, as he walked, but scanned the area, taking in everything he could.

He paused in the middle of the staircase, just before the first landing, and his hand moved almost in slow motion to a large leather pouch on his right side. A flash lit up the greenery to his left, and two bright eyes stared back at him. River smiled at the small wild cat. "Ocelot, aren't you?" he said, crouching as he put the camera back into its case. "Sorry about the flash, I was afraid you'd run away before I could see you."

The cat stared at him for a few moments, then bared its teeth and whirled around to vanish into the darkness.

River smiled, standing again. "You'll like me," he said, then took the rest of the stairs at an easy pace.

He wandered through the kitchen, the common rooms, and found several bathing and toilet rooms. Out of all the bathrooms, only one had an attached bath. The rest were separated. A toilet in one room, a tub or shower in another. The tubs were quite large, built for luxury, and some of them could easily be five to six feet deep, built for soaking injured and hard working muscles. The bedrooms were just as luxurious, each holding two beds, but none of them smaller than queen size. He chose one of the smaller bedrooms with an attached bath, right across the hall from one of the toilets.

His pack, easily the size of his entire body, sat flat on the floor, and he landed in the center of the bed, letting out a sigh of relief as the mattress sank beneath his slight weight. "Oh Gods a bed."

River heard another arrival, but didn't get up, deciding to let the newcomer explore a bit on their own.

Jallin left early from his home and had the boat driver drop him off a good distance away from the actual area meant for them. Jallin got off the boat with a small pack on his back and his scythe in hand, the black scabbard securely attached to his hip. "Go around to the designated drop off and stop just for a bit to announce the arrival of another. I should be able to get there about the same time." Jallin didn't even wait for an answer as he headed off into the vegetation of the island, quickly making his way to the meeting spot.

Just as he had said Jallin had made it the meeting spot as the boat driver got to the docks. Jallin gave a wave to the man and then made his way to the door of the place he would be staying for a while. "I wonder how many others are here already," Jallin asked himself as he entered the building that would be his new living quarters for a while. Without wasted a moment Jallin ignored the majority of the structure and went right for the rooms.

Jallin walk into the room one door down from River, though Jallin didn't know it at the time. Jallin's room was one closer to the kitchen than River's, but it was furnished the same with a bathtub but no toilet. It had no shower in it either but that was okay with Jallin as he preferred a bath anyway, he wasn't as exposed to someone accidentally walking in on him that way. Besides there was no door separating his room and the bathtub so it would be much easier for someone to accidentally walk in on him. There was a sink there and a small bit of counter space, just enough for some toiletries to be place there.

Jallin set his bag down on the counter and took out his items, placing them in an order that allowed each of them to easily be recognized. After he did so he went over to the bed and set his bag with the rest of his items on the ground resting against the side of the bed.

Now that he was settled in Jallin went out into the living room to wait for the others and also relax after a nice little hike through on the island.

River listened as someone started settling in the next room, but when that person didn't come any closer to his room, he stretched on the bed, rolling around to make each of his muscles loosen up. Once that was done, he thought for a moment, waving his bare feet in the air, and rose.

He reached into his pack while yawning and pulled out a new memory card, replacing it with the other while he headed for his own door. When he peeked around the corner, he had the full card in his mouth and just caught a glimpse of blue clothes as the tall figure headed downstairs to the common rooms. He paused, blinking, then followed eyes wide.

By the time he reached the largest of the common rooms, the man had already taken a seat. The first thing that could be seen was the camera flash, then River's dark blue clothes and the camera in front of his face. He lowered the camera as he lowered his head, hair falling forward, and pulled the full camera card out of his mouth. "I like that color," he said, voice almost too soft to hear. A glimpse of gold could be seen of his eyes beneath the fall of dark hair.

Jallin looked over to where the flash of light came from seeing a male standing there with a camera. "By looking at your clothing choice I suppose it is safe to assume you mean the color blue." Jallin gave a smile and stood up, "Jallin, representative of Canifis, pleased to make your acquaintance." Jallin barely noticed the figure's golden eyes through his hair, a sight Jallin was not used to were he was from. Jallin stood up and walked over to a nearby window a few feet away from the person with the camera. "Nice view huh? I wonder what it looks like in the morning?" Jallin noticed the height difference between him and the one he just met, it made it impossible for Jallin to see the male's eyes from this angle.

"River. I'm from Aralissya." He almost moved toward the window, then noticed Jallin had moved away from him. "Sorry... Should I not have taken the picture?" he asked, golden eyes glancing up for just a second before he lowered them again. He seemed to be staring at Jallin's weapons, but his free hand worked the complex latch on his camera case. He started to put it away, then blinked, head tilting to one side. "More people..."

Nijole at this time were not as peaceful as the surrounding countries. Amos and Shak, brothers, had taken over the throne shortly after their father died and split the country in half. They had completely different ideals and in the end had two different courts. For months they were trying to figure out who to send, but neither of them trusted the other's judgement, thus in the end they decided to send a person a piece. Shak chose his right hand man, and Amos chose a fine woman who had proved herself worthy to their eyes.

Rashad, Shak's second in command, easily finished his packing without much of a hassle. He did not want to take too much with him. He took in a deep breath and stepped out into the open court-yard and closed his eyes. When he opened them their was a beautiful marble white dragon before his eyes. Deep sapphire eyes stared deeply into his grassy eyes, and he reached out to pet his feathered friend. Unlike most of his dragons were scaly, but this one was his favorite, completely feathered and soft. He easily pulled himself onto the long dragon's back and took to the sky. There was no point to take the docks when he could easily fly. He had no clue who Amos would be sending for their side of the country but knew it would be a nice person.

When he arrived he followed the lights and voices, only to find River and Jallin in a larger room. He put his hand up to his lips an coughed slightly, "Am I interrupting something?" he asked quietly, his beautiful emerald eyes scanning the room, taking in every detail, as if everything matter to him. He wanted to remember all the colors and details of everything. "I'm Rashad of Shak, one half of Nijole." He stated calmly, noticing the camera just as River was putting it away. "Pictures..." he waved his hand back and forth. "I'll have to hunt you down if you shot me."

Jallin turned to the newer person to arrive, "A picture is worth a thousand words. When one cannot think of what to say sometimes expression through more digital means is the best way to go." Jallin gave a soft smile to River, a sign that the Canifis native didn't mind a picture taken of him. Jallin then looked back to Rashad and gave a slight nod. "I am Jallin, the one representing Canifis," Jallin set the bottom end of his scythe on the ground, holding the large weapon diagonally behind himself. "River and I have chosen our rooms already. You might want to do the same before you are stuck with whatever is left rather than getting to pick your residence."

Jallin looked back outside, gazing to the sky before opening a sliding door and walking outside. "If anyone needs me I'll be up," Jallin said over his shoulder before jumping onto the roof, giving no sound as he walked to the edge and sat down. Jallin allowed his legs to hand over the edge of the roof as he look over the water towards the docks. Even though he was fully alert of his surroundings it looked as though he was spacing out.

River lowered his head a little more at Rashad's remark, hiding a disappointed frown. At Jallin's words however, he looked up, a few blinks showing that his eyes truly were a rich golden color. And 'he', looked like a 'She'. Before the other could see, however, he flashed a quick smile and lowered his head again, dark hair falling back into place.

After Jallin had gone to the roof, he didn't look at the newcomer. Instead, he turned to the hallway that led to the staircase. "I'm from Aralissya," he said before walking out of the room.
----------------------------------

Outside, a dark form flowed silently over the water. It reached shore at the dock, where the other boats had stopped, and a shadow detached itself from the canoe, pulling it onto the shore and into the trees. The figure emerged from the woods near the house, resolving into a tall, very dark skinned man who looked up at Jallin with black-brown eyes. He stopped walking and just watched for a moment, then nodded. "To meet you, good, it is. Narik'ta, I am."

Rashad' s emerald eyes watched everyone leave the room, not everyone had even arrived yet from all the locations across the lands, but he shrugged his shoulders. If everyone want to be in their own location he was not going to pursue them, instead he could find a musical instrument somewhere and entertain himself for the next couple of hours depending on if anyone else arrives to provide more information on this treaty they were suppose to speaking about. Whether there would be a truce and all the lands stayed the same or not, he would make sure that Nijole stayed as one whole, no matter what the administrator of the south end would have to say. He was not going to split the country up anymore than it already was because he believed in a true, full, operational government that would eventually lead the country as one to greatness.

After a moment of deep contemplation, the dark-haired man, spun away from his position and started down one of the halls, eventually finding one of the bedrooms that he would be claiming for himself. There was another bed in the room, which he figured would be for the adviser that shared his own homeland. He shook his head, disappointed that for their lands there had to be two people to sign the treaty, brother's were very odd, fighting over land because their views were just not on the same page at all. He took in a deep relaxing breath, put his bag on the bed and slowly took out a suite that he would be wearing to any formal meetings that they would have with the others, and then started back out in the hallway.

"There has to be..." he whispered to himself before he came around a corner and spotted a baby grand-piano in the middle of a lovely room. A small smile spread upon his lips, and he was very happy for a small moment as he started toward the piano. He dusted off the top, showing that it had not been played in ages, and then sat down on the seat. His hands gracefully slide over all the keys before he began to play Sleepless Beauty, and just as that began to end it went straight into Rivers Flow in You.

______________________________________________________________________________

A shadow slowly appeared to the side of River, and a woman moved away from the walls. "A photographer?" she shook her head. "What a joke..." she muttered, turning away from him and starting down the hallway.”Where are the other men? I'm assuming they are men... still down grading us women, what a shame..."

River frowned at the woman, then entered his room and pulled a book out of his pack. He moved to the front, extracting a cylinder of cloth, then closed everything up and took his supplies downstairs, back to the main meeting room. He flipped open the pages without looking at them, ending on an empty one, and pulled a soft edged pencil from the cloth cylinder. Without much more preparation than that, he began to draw, progressing through his pencils from softest edge to sharpest, and finally switching to the other end of the cylinder, pulling out soft, powdery pastels while listening to the piano playing upstairs.

Things hadn't gone entirely like he'd expected. River wasn't used to coming into a group that hadn't already established itself. These people really hadn't met before. None of them knew each other, there was no established order, no specific leader. In fact, all of them...

He paused, in the middle of adding a hint of rose to the tip of his subject's ear, and looked up at the ceiling.

"My God. They're all elite."

Anya listened to the shuffling that the stranger made before his footsteps carried him away from her and toward what she assumed, by the echoing sound of his steps, was a larger room than the hallway or bedrooms. She continued to make her way around the halls before she noticed a room with two beds, this must have been the room assigned to her and the other Nijole leader, since they had sent out a message that the country was somewhat split between leaders. She glanced around, hearing the soft clicks of the piano in the distance before placing her little satchel on the far right. Curiosity, took her attention for only a moment, as she wondered whose belongings were in the other bag, but instead of invading, like she would normally, Anya returned to the hallway.

Remember the echoing of the other's footsteps; she headed to the main room, taking in all the details of the wood floors and lovely paints of other individuals who had once signed treaties in this very cottage. Once she found the large room she was happy to see that it was very much open with many places to sit and be comfortable. She skimmed over the bookshelves, still managing to find her way closer to River before plopping down on one of the couches. She folded one leg over the other, very lady like, and pressed her hands gently in the curve of her thigh. A smile came to her lips as she watched River with his work. "Have you met anyone else?" she asked, knowing that she will eventually have to learn about everyone on this little island before signing her name on a paper or peace. "I mean, the other men who are here to sign this treaty to show we mean no harm to one another anymore... right? I'm very curious to know who Shak King of Northern Nijole has sent as his candidate... well?"

"PRETTY!" a young woman's head was suddenly over the drawing that River was working on, her eyes so wide they seemed to pop out as she studied all the color and detail. "It is so beautiful, you are very talented..." she said with a large smile on her face, her hair somewhat falling into her large glowing blue eyes. Sarka crossed her arms and laid her head on it. "I is Sarka.... from Artemidoros. You must be River... and Anya!" She pushed her small frame away from her crouching position to her feet and twirled away from them. "Where are the others, they should be here by now I'd think." She placed her index finger on corner of her mouth as she though with her other hand holding the bottom of her elbow. "Let’s see... we're missing... ummm Narik'ta, Jallin... oh and Rashad I believe. There were a couple of others, but I don't remember their names all too well." She chuckled lightly. "I'm so excited..." she clasped her hands together suddenly and bent over River. "Aren't you... the wars are ending... they are truly ending!" She danced a little more before she noticed a plant to the side of the room. "A Bird of Paradise..." she glided over to the flower and stroked it softly, "pretty," she whispered.

Anya stared at what she assumed was a child and shook her head, but said nothing, not wanting to make anything go sour from here.

"Thankyou." River smiled, pleased with the small girl's praise. He was a little surprised she knew his name since it hadn't been listed, but showed little sign of it. "It's wonderful," he said once she'd stopped to examine the flower. "Narik'ta, I believe, is outside. Jallin is as well. Rashad is upstairs playing the piano. He's quite good."

River's soft voice relayed the information as he watched Sarka behind his shield of dark hair. "Where are you from?" he asked.
---------------------------------------------------------
The black-haired woman laughed, a full throated sound that had the entire crew of his vessel turning to look. They should have been used to her brashness by now, but even after three full weeks of travel it was difficult to get over the fact that she was just like them. A bit more schooled, a little better at speech, but just as hearty as any old fisherman he'd had the pleasure of calling friend.

The captain looked down at his poker hand, then over at the spread she'd laid out on the table. Full flush. "Lady take me," he murmured, tossing his cards down and resting his head in his hand. "By the gods I've never seen such a bluff."

She scooped up her real prize from the middle of the table, leaving the small pile of copper coins, and tucked the water filled vial between her breasts. "Play again, Captain?"

He looked up at her, dark skin, dark eyes twinkling with good humor. She'd beaten him nine hands out of ten, but she wasn't holding it over his head. "No, Salvia, I think a man should know when to surrender. Any more and I'd have to start cutting out my pockets."

"Captain," the cabin boy said, rushing into the room. "Land's spotted. We should be there within the hour."

"Good," Salvia stood, downing the last of the rum in her cup and striding out into the beautiful evening air. "Captain, I believe this is the first boat ride I've actually enjoyed."

"Was that because you didn't need teh put up with fancy garments or 'cause won us out of all that copper?" one of the men asked.

"Mmmm...." Salvia thought about that, then grinned. "Both."

Keizer Shosolas

The Caravel came into port early in the morning and had moored itself at the captains orders. The crew spent a few hours getting everything ready for bringing the ship further into port for docking and they did so with speed and efficiency. Keizer had been awake before there arrival and was still in his cabin, Seeing that being out aboard the ship put many of the other passengers in an uneasy state. He had opted to keep to himself and requested that his meals where sent in, As not to upset anyone.
He had spent half the night and all that morning knelt down in the center of the cabin, Meditating on the events to come. Feeling in himself a deep conflict of interest, Feeling that if the treaty did not holed he would be all to happy to fight for his home. But on the other hand if the countries managed to solidified there agreements for a permanent peace, They may be forced to adapted there own ways to there neighbors relief.

His concentration was pulled away when two knocks rang from the cabin door. "Keizer-sen.." A voice called out nervously. "We are going in to dock now." The voice was cut short when the be approach bells began to ring out over the morning air.
"Thank you" Keizer replied as the body behind the door quickly scrambled away. He picked up his satchel and threw it over his shoulder, Resolving to sling his rolled mat under his left arm. Adjusting it slightly as his weapon and gauntlet slightly protruded from the front. He slid the door open and made his way from the cabin towards the starboard side and look over towards land. As he moved, He caught slight glances from the rest of the passengers dismissing them as he made his path.

But as he looked down the bow of the ship, He could see that the ship was advancing on another that was heading to the docks as well. It shape and size was reminiscent of an older war vessel he had seen a decade before, But it had been stripped to a civilian cruiser now. However something did catch his eyes, A woman standing on the ships port. She was exiting one of the cabins and could be made out quite well in the sun.
Her skin and hair detailed enough about her even without either of them trading words. Keizer slightly stared at her as his boat made its way to the side of her's and he ended up having to look higher as the ship was almost twice the size of his vessel.
There he stood and watched until he could lock his gaze with hers, Only ending to bow his head towards her in a sign of respect.

The dock was little more then a hundred feet off now and pretty soon the linemen would be toeing the ships in.

Salvia watched the oncoming vessel as the rest of the crew began to get nervous. By the time the giant of a man at the side of the boat nodded to her, the fishing crew was completely silent.

"Ah... ma'm," the captain said, stepping up to her. "I'd liek it if we don' get too far close to that there crew. Egnorda's not exactly the friendliest of folks, if'n ye hear me."

"That's fine," Salvia said, touching her brow in a salute to what she assumed was one of the warriors she would be living with for the next few months. "I'll get off here, just toss my things on the dock. Nothing in there's too fragile."

"Here?" the captain asked as she took off her boots. And without further explanation, Sylvia dove into the water, making a leisurely swim to shore. She pulled herself out of the water just as the warrior's ship reached shore and stretched her arms toward the sky. Then she waited until the fishing vessel came close and caught her two large bags as they were tossed off the boat.

"Full waters to you," she called.

"Fair skies," came many a call in return. Despite her skill at gambling, the crew had come to like the unusual woman. She waited until they were done gifing their farewells before turning to the other vessel to meet her fellow arrival. "A wonderful evening, don't you think?" she asked, giving him a half grin. "I'm Salvia, from Nareese." She held out her hand in a soft fist, meant to symbolize a lack of "claws," or lack of aggression, towards the man.

Keizer Shosolas

Keizer looks down at this woman swimming off the bow of the ship and gives her a slightly solemn look. He drops his things to his side as he reaches down over the edge of the ship and locks his hand around the base of hers. He takes care when lifting her out of the water, Making sure not to jerk on her limb too hard.

"Keizer of Egnorda.." His deep voice slides out under the sound of the ships bell as he cleanly lifts her over the railing and plants her on the deck. Letting go of her he reaches down and reacquires his things as the men on the dock snag the mooring lines, The ship beginning to slow to a halt as the lines are tightened and tied down.

He looks her over for a moment as her cloths are now thoroughly drenched from her dive. But it didn't seem be causing her any troubles in the least for the time being. He just looked back up at her and gave a slight smirk.."Strange.. I wasn't expecting to catch anything this close to shore." Trying to do his best to make a comical comment, But it is ruined when a young deck hand approaches him.
The man bows heavily and addresses him.. "Keizer-sen we are now docked, We all bid you welcome to Heart Island and may the queen watch over you." The man doesn't raise his head as he nervously backs away and turns, Running off to his other duties.

Keizer doesn't even pay the man much attention, Not even when he leave because he keeps his body turned towards Salvia. He just exhales with a slight sigh and speaks.. "I guess time waits for no one.."

Salvia chuckled at his joke, unperturbed by the way the deck hands acted around him. Many of the people of Nareese did the same sort of thing around the highly regarded warriors. At first, she'd grated against the treatment, but over the years Salvia had come to enjoy startling them out of their subserviant manner by revealing her rather roughshod nature. The fishing crew had certainly been taken aback when the 'solemn warrior' had turned out to be a woman that could drink, talk, and gamble them under the table.

"Time has a mind of her own, and I suspect a strong vindictive streak," she winked. "Good to meet you, Keizer." She'd been startled to be drawn aboard the ship, but relaxed quickly enough, her Kavichi safely secured across her back. She took in the scene for a moment, then turned her attention back to the man. "So, what do you think about this little venture?"

Sarka, engolfed by the beauty of the Bird of Paradise flower, almost did not hear what River had to say to her. Anya, on the other hand was startled by the simple fact that Rashad was one of the many people she would be bunking with, and it happened to be her older brother. She pushed away from the couch, just as Sarka moved away from the plant to face the man with the drawing.

"Ah..." the little girl clasped her hands together and chuckled. "My apologies, I do love nature much, it often takes my attention with out my knowledge. I'm the Fey Spring Sarka from Artemidoros, at your service." She brushed some dust off her pure white dress and then ran her hand through her bobbed blond hair. "I can't wait to meet everyone, this is going to be so much fun."

River blinked as Anya moved, forgetting to hide his face. Again, 'he' looked like a 'she', a beautiful young girl. For just a second, golden eyes stared at Anya, wondering why she'd been startled by his words. Then he remembered and lowered his head, hair falling back into place. He pulled the page off, showing a sketchy, but artistic drawing of Anya's brother, pale hints of color throughout the pencil details. "You look like him," he said, glancing over at the older looking woman, then down at the portrait of Rashad. The page drifted to the cushion beside him. "Are the two of you related?"

On the next page, River only made a careful outline, noting small details without making his subject identifiable. Sarka's words made him smile. "That's alright. Nature makes me forget myself sometimes, too." He flipped that page over, then began another sketch, this one quickly resolving into an image of Anya. "It's not too often you meet one of the fair folk in Aralissya." Instead of Anya's current expression, however, River drew the one he'd noticed when he'd rattled off the names of their fellow cabin-members. River's voice never wavered, never hurried. He seemed in an ocean of calm as he drew, working on Anya's startled expression and following the two conversations easily. And at the same time, he seemed asleep, moving with careful, precise movements that went undisturbed by the arrival of two large boats at the shore.

The vessels didn't make much disturbance. Even when one became filled with calls of farewell, it could barely be heard past the trees that surrounded the estate. What could be felt, however, was a flare of power and magic from the opposite end of the island that all but shook the ground itself. The various schools of magic had finally met, and even though that was little of the Warriors' concern, it caused quite a ruckus over the entire island. River didn't even flinch, and his pencil never faltered.

Keizer Shosolas

Keizer arches his neck a bit when the boat begins to slide against the pier, Shortly coming to a halt thereafter. He looks towards the main house up the walking path and slightly grits his teeth with the idea of this whole venture.."So, what do you think about this little venture?" He hears Salvia speak behind him.

He returns on her question.. "This is a prime opportunity for the disconnected lands within Dalaris to grip tightly at the reins of progress and usher in a new era abundance.." He finishes his statement only a moment before a wave of magical energy rippled over the entirety of the island, Creating large jagged waves in the water that crashed up the shore. To which he just turns and looks at her with a cynical glare.. "But if you want my opinion?.. This is one missed bless you or a left up toilet seat from becoming an international incident... so its safe to say I'm not holding my breath."

Keizer proceeds to step off the boat and head up the docks towards the main building, Keeping a large stride in his step as if sensing something could be amiss should he not show up quick enough.

Salvia chuckled. "My thoughts... well, not exactly, but close enough." she followed him off the ship, keeping up with his long legged stride easily. Without being touched, the Kavichi fell from her back into her hand, and she carried it loosely in her right fist.

As she walked, Salvia thought carefully about Keizer's words and the situation at hand. So far, there were three humans, four non-humans, and one that no one was really sure about. At that, it was bad enough. The two Drago mixed bloods were probably going to be at odds, considering they came from separate halves of the a country that was teetering on civil war. Salvia had no clue what the representative from Aralissya was, but considering their high non-human population it was a safe bet to say he wasn't normal. Then a Fey she'd never met before. No one in Nareese had been around the 'Fair Folk' as they were called, except the occasional tree sprite or dryad that decided to relocate.

And Narik'ta. She knew she was going to be at odds with the quiet, serious warrior if they couldn't get past their last encounter.

"Have you met anyone here?" she asked.

Anya stared down at the drawing of her sibling and then took in a deep breath. "Yea I'm his half sister on our father's side actually. Demonic blood doesn't run well with the Elvin folk, but some how he managed to woo my mother with his charm and looks. Though before our happy family was brought together he had another wife and child in the mountains with a dragon society, the people up there call themselves Drago because they can easily become one with dragons, I never cared for them much, but my brother took good care of me." She turned her head away from him.

"You say that as if you still don't care much for him," the girl's voice became strangely calm and older, her eyes deepening as she watched the half-breed before her eyes. "Do you hate him that much?"

Anya crossed her arms, "Not exactly," she stated with a calm voice. "But I don't see eye to eye with him either." Just as she finished her sentence the piano music began to fade away slightly, as if he had heard her voice from that far of a distance over the deafening tune. The woman took a step away from the main door, having the feeling that she would be confronted any moment before dissipating before their very eyes.

"Wow!" Sarka watched the smoke wash away as if the wind had taken the woman from their vision, even though the air was very still. "This will be..." Her eyes lit up. "There are others here!" Her hands clapped against one another as she realized who one of the new arrivals were. She had met him a while back during the war among the countries. "Keizie!" she shook her head. "How could I forget your name in my vision... that doesn't make sense..." and then she was off, out of the house and down the path waving her hand over her small body when she saw the two in the distance. "KEIZIE!"

Keizer Shosolas

Keizer was making his way up the stone laden walkway towards the main house, The wind was beginning to blow slightly carrying the sea air up from behind him. He drew in a deep breath as he moved doing his best to take in the scent of the world around him and remember it as best he can.

Fully aware of Salvia as she followed in his wake, She began to remark about his earlier words and speak slightly more frank to him as they walked on. Though he held no ill will towards her, There was just an air about his demeanor that he didn't want to carry on this more then it should go. But he stopped in his tracks when she voiced her next question to him.. "Have you met anyone here?"
He turns sharply in place making a quick whiff of air as he spun and allows his things to slide off his shoulders to the ground. He held up his hands in a stopping motion towards her.. "I'm going to be frank right here.." He said as he lowers them back to his sides. "Do not mistake my willingness to talk as a open friendliness, I have stepped upon every land but this one in the name of war and up there.." He points a thumb over his shoulder towards the building "I expect to find those that know me as such. This whole island has vast preconceptions about my people, Unfortunately in my condition.. they are all true. If I meet anything thing up there.. its going to be more trouble then its worth.."

"KEIZIE!" Keizer's could feel his spine involuntarily straighten.. "Sigh..Speak of the Devil." Salvia could see that he winced his eyes shut and leaned his head back slightly taking a deep breath and then turns around. "Sarka~... Why did I not think to see you here." He put on a sharp toothed smile as she drew closer and he moved to greet Sarka with an outstretched arm, As his large form seemed to literally dwarf the girl in size.

"I don't like this any more than you do, Egnordian," Salvia said, more of a sarcastic tone to her voice. "But I'd rather not have all of Dalaris in war because no one was willing to get over their petty prejudices."

"Keizie!"

The childlike voice made her pause, and Salvia watched as the young woman, probably the Fey she'd been expecting, came running for the gigantic man. Sarka, the girl, or... woman's name was. Salvia had a hard time thinking of the girl as someone around her own age and experience. Behind her, though, following at a more sedate pace, was a young man, dark hair hiding most of his face. He walked with his head down, posture suggesting someone who was either habitually shy or regularly beaten, and she couldn't see his eyes, even though she knew they had to be looking up from beneath that almost black hair.

He froze for a moment, so still he almost blended into the landscape, then straightened up and was suddenly another being.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
River smiled at Sarka's enthusiasm and rose from his seat, tucking his tools and sketchpad safely away in one of the drawers of the side table, then followed her, berating himself softly.

"Stupid. You can't let them see your face, idiot. Stop looking up." He made himself shrink, slinking down the stairs after Sarka, then froze at the deep male voice coming from the bottom of the stairs.

He raised his head just enough to see and couldn't keep it up. River froze, and his hands trembled for a moment as he recognized the giant. The Egnordian. That wasn't possible... But it was the same man. Built like a brick road, tall as a sycamore with grey hair tied back in what River knew was a long braid. Probably longer now that almost twenty years had passed. Hazel eyes. That River remembered well. The same color as one of his best friends, oddly enough.

He took a deep breath, straightening up and raising his head. when his hair didn't fall out of the way, he relaxed a little, allowing himself the luxury of falling into that easy stride that had become so natural over the years. The mental coronet was on his head, and even though his face was hidden, River was still royal.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Salvia felt her hand tighten on her Kavichi as the stranger approached, suddenly feeling as though every step he took was dangerous. No... Prince. That was almost as bad. Royalty. What the hell was Aralissya thinking, sending a royal to this powder keg.

The dark hair never parted, but enough could be seen through it to know that he had strange, yellow eyes. "River of Aralissya," he said calmly, with an unmistakable air of authority. "Good hunting to you all."

The Fey’s eyes sparkled when the man recognized her, and she took her his hand in her own. “You don’t look as beat up this time. Feels like your injuries have all healed properly.” Her inspected him with a careful eye, never letting her childish voice escape her. “Keizie, I’m glad to see that you are all well and good. It has been so very long!” She jumped up and down for a short moment then noticed Salvia and waved her hand slightly. “’Ello, I’m Sarka of Artemidoros… Fey-kin.” She stated to the woman then turned her attention back to the man just as Anya stepped out of the shadows from the forest.

“Keizer,” her eyes narrowed, a dangerous look from the woman who seemed to recognize the larger man. “I see you made it through the wars, Rashad will be delighted by the news… unfortunately,” She did everything she could not to draw her own weapons on the man and take him down. The things she had witnessed during the war made her blood grow cold at the thought of him still living.

Instead of going for her blades, Anya’s hands went through her hair, pulling it up in a very loose sloppy pony-tail to expose her high-cheekbones and narrow chin a little more, her beauty never failed her, but in this instance she was not even thinking about her beauty, but about comfort. “I suppose I should not be surprised that your people sent you to make peace, even though I’m sure your face is the most recognized out of all the leaders in the house. Be sure to say hello to your friend… Rashad, he’ll be pleased to know you’ve made it through the war without me killing you,” she swung away from the group then completely froze when she spotted Salvia. Her body refused to move a single step forward, she remembered that face, knew it well as if the deepest banks of her memory would not forget that face. She was saved quickly when River came out of the house and spoke in a clear tone.

Once again her body was her own again, and she shook her head to step away from the group. Though Anya really just wanted to walk away from Salvia to rid herself of guilt, and away from Keizer so that she would not kill him, she could not seem to move toward the cottage, instead she was curious to know what would be said out here on the path.

“Keizie… you know Anya and Rashad too? Oh goodie we can all be great friends!” the little fey smiled, her hand never leaving the larger man’s.

Keizer Shosolas

Keizer held on to Sarka's hand and patted it with his other as he greeted her, Though he was genuinely happy to see the little lady. He was quite aware of the certain troubles that where bound to follow her around. He smiled at her knowing that his appearance wasn't very striking, Especially since she was the fey and had the look of a living sapling from the deep woods. But his first talks with her where a good selling point for the justification for this trip to him.

He turned and looked to Salvia still holding the frighteningly wide smile.. "I must say.. unexpected, but a welcome occurrence all the same." His attention was garnered quickly when he heard his name slide out on a familiar voice.

"Keizer"

He turned slightly towards the voice to see Anya standing there near the edge of the walkway sticking close to the shadows. She stood there eying him as either a potential target, Or a person in need of a meal and bath. He couldn't tell which from where he was, But he was most likely banking on the first guess.
“I suppose I should not be surprised that your people sent you to make peace, even though I’m sure your face is the most recognized out of all the leaders in the house. Be sure to say hello to your friend… Rashad, he’ll be pleased to know you’ve made it through the war without me killing you,”

He gave a small smirk as he turned to fully face her while still holding Sarka's hand lightly.. Oh that's alright and its good to see the crown can do without you for the time being, Maybe now he can learn to make his own breakfast.. And don't worry about anything." He lifts the edge of his shirt slightly to show the side of his abdomen showing an X shaped scar.. "You should still have that kidney I gave you.. Right?"

His poking and prodding was interrupted when he looked over the group to see a severely unexpected familiar face, Despite the effort he put into concealing it.
"River of Aralissya," The name itself peaked Keizer's already spiked interest. "Good hunting to you all." He added afterwords.

Keizer looked over the small group and stared back at the younger man.. "And may your bounty be grand..heh.. River." His words not lessening the decisive fact there was a strange air to the moment.
