"I don't want to talk about it."
Ali is sweet and innocent on many levels. Bullied for being gay. Has a great depth for emotion. Empathetic. Soft-hearted and quick to trust. He's also light-hearted, sarcastic when he wants to be, and a very cuddly person. Since the accident, he's been secluded, unrepsonsive and never wants to talk. Ali regrets that his boyfriend died for him, and wishes to join him where ever he is. There is much self-loathing and sorrow.
Ali always has a switch-blade, and a locket with a professionally-made photo of Josh and him.
Alistar knew since he was little that he was gay. His friend Nikki always supported him. He always got beat up, especially more after sixth grade when he came out. Nikki would always defend him, until she moved away from New Arlingdon. He was beaten into a coma soon after he came out, and he met his true love. Joshua Alexander Richards, the eighth grader who'd tried to stop the boys but ended up beaten up himself, had come in every day for a month until those baby blue eyes opened up again. They introduced themselves and ended up coming out to Ali's parents by kissing in the hospital. They stayed a couple until Josh's junior year, when he pushed a freshman Ali out of the way of a speeding semi and was instantly killed. His family has been trying to get him out of his room and start talking again.
