Introduction

Myself and Shatari came up with this idea together...

Three friends, who have been the Three Musketeers since they can remember. They did almost everything together and been through each other's happiness and sadness. But when one of them dies, what are the other two going to do with their lives now? Stick around and we shall see.

(I know that it is not much but don't want to give every single thing away.)

It was their first day back on campus as people were hugging each other and welcoming everyone back. She stayed off in the distance, looking then turning her head every once in awhile. 'Disgusting.' She thought to herself while grabbing her clutch purse and walked outside along the few steps that lead to the dormitory building. Her ass met the concrete step as she dug through her purse and pulled out a cigarette then pressed it against her lips while lighting it up. She exhaled the smoke through her nose then placed her head in her palm. She didn't start smoking until after the death of her, Christi. She wished that it had been her in the car that night instead of someone who was always positive, motivational and was always there for you whenever you needed her.

Hanna sighed softly as she flicked the remains of the cigarette in front of her, almost burning a girl alive. "Hey! Watch where you throwing those you freak!" Some random girl said then kept on prancing with her friends. Hanna use to be this happy go lucky type of girl, which she uses as a front now. She has turned into this I don't care about you or anything else type of person. She leaned against the concrete barrier and turned her head to look into the two big bulletproof glass of the doors and seen that the hallways were clearing out. "Thank god." She mumbled to herself while snatching her clutch purse up and getting up from the steps and making her way back inside.

It seemed like no one even cared that Christi was dead - Though, it has been a month and maybe people wasn't as close to her like she was. She reached down and grabbed her two bags then walked towards her dorm. When she opened the door, she saw this blonde headed girl there with her back turned towards her. She had the exact same shape as Christi and same color hair and length. Hanna had an expression on her that made her look confused but when the girl turned around, Hanna thought she had seen a ghost. She stood there, frozen and her face was now a pale white color.

The girl extended her hand and waved it across Hanna's face. "Hello..." She said as Hanna snapped back into reality. "I'm sorry I thought you were someone else." Hanna exclaimed while reaching her hand out to meet the girl's, who name came out to be Alison. Hanna then dropped her hand by her side after shaking Alison's then walked over and threw her bags on the bed she had claimed. "Uhmm, I need some fresh air before I unpack." Alison nodded her head and Hanna slowly exited the room.

She had fresh air before going to her dorm room but maybe she just needed some more.

While pushing herself through the double doors, she had seen a guy scale across the yard of the dorms. She raised a brow then squinted her eyes while thinking to herself. 'Is that Ryley?' She knew that Ryley took his girlfriend's death pretty hard and she hasn't heard from him since her funeral. She really wanted to go see if that was Ryley. Finally pushing herself, she walked across the yard as well but then called out. "Hey!" She hoped the male would stop so that she could get closer and study him.

Approaching the male, she reviewed over his features and style then reached up and clasped his face in her hands. "Ryley? Is that you? Are you okay?" She wanted to ask some much more but just didn't know how to at this pointed and time. She dropped her hands back by her side then sighed while waiting for him to answer. "How have you been?" She placed her forehead into the palm of her hand then looked back up at him. "If you don't want to talk, I'll understand." She stated sincerely while locking her eyes with his.

He still couldn't believe that she was gone. Every time that he awoke, he hoped that it had been merely a bad dream. Ryley was well aware that his family was worried sick about him. He'd dated Christi for nearly four years. He'd thought her to be 'the one'. They'd talked about getting married and having a family together. Thinking on it now only caused him a great sadness. He'd refused to speak with anyone since Christi's death, even Hanna. He just couldn't bring himself to.

He'd changed his appearance completely after the funeral. He'd dyed his hair black and had started wearing darker clothing. He'd even started painting his nails a dark color as well as wearing eyeliner quite often. His parents didn't know what to think about his sudden change and Ryley had refused to speak on it. Currently, Ryley was in his mother's car. She'd insisted upon driving him to the college. He suspected that she simply didn't trust him to drive himself and honestly he couldn't blame her. He'd not been acting like himself for the past month.

They rode in relative silence until they were perhaps ten minutes from campus. "Ryley, I know that you said that you were fine coming back to school but no one would think badly of you if you took the semester off." The woman said, her eyes on the road. Ryley glanced to his mother though said nothing. It wasn't worth the argument. As far as he was concerned, getting back to school would be good for him. He still needed to choose his major and once he did he planned on staying busy.

His mother sighed at his silence though he didn't care. His was still feeling Christi's death. In no time at all, they arrived at the campus. His father had already brought his things so the only thing that Ryley had with him was his phone and bag. His mother hugged him and told him to call her when he was able. Only after they'd pulled apart did he get out of the car.

He waved his mother goodbye as she pulled away. He then turned and began walking in the direction of the dorms. Normally, Ryley would have arrived much earlier so as to find Hanna and Christi. Now, though, he was simply doing good being there. Everyone around him seemed in high spirits, being reunited with their friends. He did notice a few odd looks that he was receiving but he paid them no mind. He'd known that his new appearance would come as a surprise to any that knew him.

Just as he was crossing the yard near the dorms, a voice brought him to a stop. "Hey!" Ryley turned towards the voice..the voice of Hanna he'd suddenly realized. He'd wanted to put off seeing her for as long as possible. However, it seemed that wasn't going to happen. He allowed his gaze to rest upon her, simply waiting for her to join him. As she did, she reached up, taking hold of his face in her hands. He very nearly pulled away from her though forced himself to remain standing still as they regarded each other.

"Ryley? Is that you? Are you okay?" Hanna asked. Ryley was silent for a moment, simply watching her. He had no idea how to reply to her questions. He'd been working so hard on keeping everyone out and here was the one person who would be able to see through his lies. How have you been? If you don't want to talk, I'll understand." Of course she was being nice to him. However, he was unsure of how he felt about it. She was a reminder of Christi and honestly he didn't want anything to do with her. "I've been okay. How about you?" He said, pausing for a short moment. He held her gaze and he was nearly certain that Hanna knew that he'd not been okay as he'd said. "Look, it's not that I don't want to talk to you..it's just better if I don't. Besides, I'm a bit behind. I've got to get unpacking. But, maybe I'll catch you around sometime."

It was his way of telling her that he was not planing on spending time with her any time soon. He just didn't think that he could handle being near her. He broke her gaze, feeling a bit bad. She'd lost Christi too and here he was tearing her other friend from her as well. He was unsure of how she was going to react though he he did not think that would change his mind.

She smiled when words finally escaped through Ryley's lips as she answered his question. "I've been good as well." She said with a smile, covering up her hidden sadness. Her ears then twitched at his next words then stepped aside while scoffing underneath her breath. Hanna turned around and watched as Ryley went into his dormitory building. She turned back around and closed her eyes to stop the tears from running down her cheeks. She reopened her eyes then turned back around and stormed into the boy's dormitory building after Ryley. She reached out and grabbed his wrist, hoping that would turn him around.

"Look here, Ryley, I understand that you are upset or whatever but I lost someone to. A friend, a dear friend, okay? So no need for that little attitude of yours." With those words said she turned back around, flipping her hair against him in the process as she left. When she got outside and reached the bottom step, a flow of tears streamed down her cheeks as she sniffled while walking back her dormitory building. She entered her room and found that her roommate was gone.

Hanna leaned against the door for a moment then mustered up a little strength to get up from it and started to unpack herself. She was so angry that Ryley had acted the way he did but yes, he did lose Christi and so did she but you don't see her going around and changing her look and being all.. emotional about it. She shook her head, trying to free her mind of the thoughts implanted there but couldn't. Maybe coming back to this school was a bad idea. She should have just kept on being a waitress at that diner, at least there was less worries.

She sighed softly to herself then scrambled and found her cell then found Ryley's name. She sent him an immediate text, basically apologizing to him for her actions earlier. She sighed while throwing the phone to the side, sitting down on her bed, hoping that he'll at least send a text back to her.

Ryley left her then and headed off towards his dorm. He didn't even look back at Hanna. He couldn't. He was walking through the long hall slowly. He noted that there were not many people left wandering about. No doubt they'd already gotten to their dorms and were unpacking or spending time with their friends. Ryley was quickly brought out of thought as a hand closed about his wrist. He stopped moving and turned to see who had stopped him. Hanna If course it was Hanna. He could easily see that she was not happy with him. "Look here, Ryley, I understand that you are upset or whatever but I lost someone to. A friend, a dear friend, okay? So no need for that little attitude of yours."

She gave him no time to reply, turning and flipping her hair against him. He did not go after her, simply watching as she left him. He was glad that he was alone. Her words bothered him though he was quick to push them out of his mind. He turned and then continued down the hallway. He was glad that his assigned room was fairly close to the front of the building. He opened the door and then entered, finding his roommate. It was the same man he'd roomed with the year before and the two were fairly close.

Ryley greeted the man and it was easy to see that he was surprised at Ryley's new appearance. He made his way over to his bed and then began unpacking. Taylor was trying to ask him how he was doing but Ryley was quick to make sure that his friend knew that he didn't want to talk about it. The other man left, then, leaving Ryley alone. He was already beginning to regret returning to school.

Now that he was alone, Ryley allowed himself to fully feel the pain and sadness he'd been trying to keep buried. He gently sat down on the bed, placing his face in his hands. He remained that way even as his phone went off, signaling a message. Slowly, he lifted his head and then pulled his phone out of his pocket. He quickly opened the message and then sighed at seeing it was from Hanna. He hesitated, trying to decide if he should even bother in writing her back.

After a few moments, he broke down. He couldn't ignore her completely. He typed up a reply, telling her that it was okay..he understood her reaction. And that he was sorry. He didn't think that she would understand but he wanted her too so badly. He was quick to add that if she needed him(for anything), all she needed to do was let him know. Of course, he was still planning on staying away from her unless he had to be near her.

Hanna had finished unpacking and sat down on her bed, reading through her journal until he phone went off. She reached her arm out and grabbed a hold of it then typed the password to open the phone. It was from Ryley. She read the message then a soft smile curved among her lips as she didn't bother to text him back because she didn't need him for anything - Right now anyway. She sighed a little then raised her eyes up at like five girls entering her room, laughing and giggling. "Uhmm, hey.." She waved a little towards the girls then Alison broke through them. "Oh, everyone, this is my roommate, Amanda." Hanna scoffed and rolled her eyes then looked towards the four other girls. "It's Hanna." All the girls seemed stuck up and snobbish and she absolutely hated those type of people. "Anyways, whatever your name is, are you coming to the first of the year pep rally?" One of the girls asked.

'Are you going to get hit by a bus?' She smiled at the thought then looked up at the girl that had asked her the question. "I wasn't but now, I think I might." She said while looking back down at her journal. "Alison, how rude of you not to introduce us." Alison shrugged her shoulders then leaned in to whisper. "She doesn't seem that interested to know your names." They all nodded as Hanna looked at them. "I heard that. And you are wrong..." She got up off of her bed and looked at them. "I am interested in knowing your names but I don't talk to stuck up bitches such as yourselves." The girls scoffed and looked at each other with their mouths open. "No. She. Didn't." Alison said. Hanna stood there with her arms folded over her chest then waited for one of them say something - But nothing was said or done.

Hanna shook her head then grabbed her clutch purse along with her phone and stormed out of her own room. She was already filled with multiple emotions and now she was filled with anger. She walked outside on the steps and pulled out another cigarette, disgusting little things they are but she didn't really start smoking until Christi died. She puffed and puffed while pacing from side to side as the doors behind her opened and it was Alison. "Whoa. That was really fucked up what you said back there." Hanna eyes snapped towards Alison as she blew smoke into her face and watched as she flailed around like a fish out of the water at the fumes. "You're rude and I want a new roommate." Hanna watched as Alison stormed back into the building and the other girls, came to her aid then stared Hanna down.

She wasn't scared of either one of them. She had been in fights before - Even with a couple of guys.

She rested the cigarette against her lips then leaned down and grabbed her cell phone, texting Ryley. She asked him if he was going to the first of the year pep rally and also added that she was going and would really love it if he was there as well. She sent the text then flicked what was left of the cigarette away while pulling out another one. Hanna kept on pacing from side to side as she saw people making their way to the pep rally, a few band members walked in front of her. She looked at them with disgust then stuck her tongue out at them. They did nothing but laugh at her and just kept on walking. She shook her head then checked her phone to see if Ryley had text her back or not.

Ryley rose from the bed and then continued to unpack. He took his time, putting his things where he wanted them. If he wasn't going to be spending time with Hanna, he would need to find someone else to be around. Which was easier said than done. When he was finished, he ran a hand through his dark hair. His phone sounded suddenly and he quickly picked it up. He looked at the message, seeing it was from Hanna. He quickly replied to her, telling her that he was going and that he would possibly see her there.

He placed his phone in his pocket and then headed out of his room. He made his way towards the pep rally. He was greeted by a few more people and so Ryley was forced to act as if everything was okay. He entered the building and it was easy to see that most were already there. He had no idea where he should stand or sit. He easily spotted Hanna and debated about sitting with her. However, he was quick to shoot that down. Taylor suddenly appeared next to him.

"Hey man! Come on. You're sitting with us." the taller man said. He quickly began pulling Ryley to the other side of the building. They took a seat together and Ryley found himself surrounded by a few people that he'd only ever spoken to in passing. They seemed glad for him to be with them and he was glad that everything seemed to be okay for now.

His gaze fell to Hanna, watching her steadily for a few moments before the pep rally began. Everyone around him was quick to get into a good mood and was happy to be there. Ryley was trying so hard to act as if everything was okay with him. He was trying to ignore Hanna. He was certain seeing her and spending time with her would only cause him more pain in the end. Something that he didn't need right then.

At one point, he even had a smile on his face. Something that he'd not allowed to happen in some time. However, it didn't quite reach his eyes. A sign that it wasn't a real smile. He was certain that most would not notice. He feared, though, that Hanna would and try to speak to him of it. Taylor was trying to get him talking and Ryley allowed him to succeed. He began speaking with those that he was with, happy for the distraction.

Hanna shrugged her shoulders as she got up and headed towards the designated area where the pep rally was commencing. Her eyes lowered to her phone as she pulled it out and read the text from Ryley. A small smile started to form among the corner of her lips as she bumped into someone. "Hey, watch where yo..." The boy stopped then looked at her as she raised a brow and the smile immediately left her face. "H..H..Hanna?" She was frozen when this fellow spoke her name as she couldn't even get a few words. "Y..Y...Yes?" She responded as the male laughed and hugged her and she rose both of her delicate brows now. "It's me! Johnathan?!" Hanna eyes widened when he said his name. It was her old friend from diapers. "Hey. Are you going to school here?" She asked while opening up out of her feelings a little bit. "Uhm, no, I'm visiting my girlfriend, Alison."

Her lips quirked to the side and she rolled her eyes a little before departing herself from Johnathan. She didn't even bother saying bye or see you later because there was really no point at this time. She huffed through her parted lips as she entered the building then she saw Ryley as she squealed silently to herself and walked towards him. She was instantly stopped dead in her tracks after some freakishly large male called his name and Ryley went to go and sit with them.

Hanna sighed softly then turned away while taking a seat all the way in the back. Of course, she was sitting by herself until Johnathan sneaked up behind her. "Hey. Why did you wonder off?" He asked her and luckily the pep rally began and it was too loud for her to hear him but she unfortunately did and responded. "No reason. Where's your girlfriend?" She asked while not even making eye contact with him. His index finger rose up and pointed to Alison, who was a cheerleader for the university. 'Figures.' Hanna thought while nodding her head. "Ah." Johnathan then leaned towards Hanna. "Where's your boyfriend?" Her gaze snapped towards him. "Don't have one and don't want one." She got up from her seat and left the pep rally then went to sit on the buildings steps, pulling out a cigarette and immediately started puffing and blowing out the smoke.
