“I think you travel to search and you come back home to find yourself there.”
~Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Image
Race: Werewolf

Gender: Male

Age: Thirty-eight

Nicknames: His name, Albrecht, doesn't really allow for many nicknames besides Al, which he's been called playfully on many accounts. He prefers using it in formal situations unless he wishes to really stand out, due to how abstract the name Albrecht is. His middle name is Felix but he doesn't really use it as a nickname or anything.

Occupation: Currently unemployed, but he's worked as a lawyer for quite a while and built up a decent amount of money

Pack/Coven Name: He's a loner as of now, having not approached his old pack and having been kicked out of a pack he joined after college.

Rank in Pack/Coven: N/A

Height: Six feet, one inch

Weight: One hundred, seventy pounds

Build: Like his brother, Albrecht is muscular and well-built. If anything, he is slightly larger than Axel.

Hair Color: Dark chocolate brown so that it appears black in most lighting

Eye Color: Mocha brown with some hazel

Scars?: Albrecht bears the normal smattering of of scars and lacerations most male werewolves have. As a pup, he was always a rough fighter and stood up to his elders without a fear. For these reasons, he bears many more scars than his little brother. As for his most noticable scars, four claw marks mar his pectorals, obviously from a werewolf, and also bears numerous bite marks and one scratch dangerously close to his eye. The bite marks and claw marks were received after he left town to attend college. The latter was given to him after flirting with a male wolf's mate in a bar.

Brief Written Description: Standing just a mere inch above his little brother, Axel, Albrecht bears basically the same build as Axel. Compared to Axel, he is still larger and more intimidating. His hair looks just about black most of the time, especially because he slicks it back slightly with either hair gel or water. His hairline is receding slightly but this is due to a mixture of age and stress he's experienced. Albrecht's eyes are a darker brown than Axel's eyes, which are a light hazel-like color. Whereas Axel inherited their father's eyes, Albrecht inherited their mother's eyes. His flesh is also tanned very well from sun exposure and an athletic life. A few wrinkles have begun to form around his eyes, also due to age and stress. Other than that, he retains a youthful, attractive appearance. His cheekbones are at an average position, but his cheeks are sunken slightly, giving his face a more chiseled shape. Also unlike his brother, he tends to shave more often than Axel and occasionally keeps up a light stubble when he doesn't feel like shaving.

Clothing Preference: Albrecht dresses in a way eerily similar to his little brother. Like Axel, he's normally clad in flannel shirts with a wife beater or t-shirt beneath. In the peak of summer, he ditches the flannel and wears either just his t-shirt or just his wife-beater (or, nothing, if he feels like it). For pants, it's denim jeans either the normal length or crudely cut to below the knee by himself. He prefers barefeet to anything, but he wears boots when out in public.

Skills:
  • Despite how strong Axel is, it is known by the majority of the pack that Albrecht is the more dominant brother. In spars when they were young, Albrecht constantly forced the younger Wolff into submission. He's retained most of his strength since then, although he can be overwhelmed when attacked by multiple figures, seeing as he fights with more brute strength than with quick, easy blows or strikes.
  • He left Bellingstone to become a lawyer and, therefore, speaks with charisma and ease.
  • In his time away from Bellingstone, he became a talented boater and fisherman. He enjoys water and the ocean a lot and spent much of his childhood by the large lake outside of Bellingstone.
  • He moves quite swiftly and agilely for a man of his build. When he was younger, he used to wait tables in his father's restaurant for this reason while his brother took on cooking.
Quirks:
  • Like his younger brother, Albrecht also has a problem sitting still in most situations. Even while practicing as a lawyer, he was known to use the floor and walk around or would play with the end of his tie under the table.
  • He chews and picks the ends of his finger nails. It's a habit he picked up as a kid and hasn't yet overcome.
  • The more he is rebutted, the more defensive he becomes. It gets to a point where, in a particularly annoying court case, he nearly shoved his face into another man's and yelled at him.
Likes:
  • Water
  • Boating
  • Talking
  • Family
  • Leanna
  • His pack
  • Fighting
  • Being dominant
  • Being barefoot
  • Football (American football), along with most sports
  • Choosing his own path
Dislikes:
  • Cooking (he's no good at it)
  • Being beaten
  • Others telling him what to do
  • Hunters
  • Shoes
  • Suits
  • Being wrong
  • Lies
Fears:
  • Never joining a pack again
  • Being alone for the rest of his days
  • Being killed, especially by Hunters or vampires

Written Description: In the years since Albrecht lived in Bellingstone, it seems he and his brother completely switched roles and personalities, more or less. When he first lived in Bellingstone, Albrecht was the responsible, young man who had a great sense of duty to protect his pack and become the next Alpha male. He continuously beat down his younger brother into a submissive state and was obviously on his way to being one of the Pack's finest leaders. Upon leaving for college, though, he realized that he would much rather experience life outside of the pack.

Returning now after he's built up a decent bank account, Albrecht is far more easy-going and laid back. If anything, his younger brother seems to be the one who's thinking things through more. Albrecht doesn't seem to think that by leaving, he has screwed his chances as Alpha. In fact, he's quite willing to fight his own brother for position as Alpha. He becomes jealous and protective easily, even over things that aren't really his. Despite being more laid-back with rules, Albrecht also is much more aggressive and eager to fight, most likely because he is no longer in a stable position of authority.

Relationship Status: Once upon a time, he was promised to marry Leanna and be her mate. While he still has feelings for her, he also knows that she's Axel's mate now...unless he can reclaim his position as Alpha. As of now, he is single.

Brief History: This life of Albrecht Wolff was never entirely calm or uneventful. Being the first born son of Richard and Laura Wolff in the winter of 1975, Albrecht was already destined to become the Alpha before he was even born. At only three years of age, he was already promised to marry Leanna Romero, the eldest of Jonas and Olivia Romero. Though the two were destined to become the next Alpha pair, it didn't affect their friendship at all. In fact, the two were basically inseparable.

When he was six years old, Axel was born. By then, although he wasn't very strong yet, Albrecht was a very tall child compared to the other pups of the pack. In play groups, he quickly assumed the position of leader while making Leanna a sort of second in command. Axel, on the other hand, became the brunt of most of his beatings and displays of dominance, stressing their relationship to this day. By the time Axel hit puberty and his rebellious streak, the two could be found constantly beating on each other in their wolf forms. Each time, Albrecht came out strong. However, Axel eventually became able to escape less hurt or hold himself for longer in a fight. These fights were a way of the elder Wolff boy whipping his younger brother into the role he'd eventually take on as a subordinate.

When he turned twenty-one and Leanna had turned eighteen, they were deemed a couple and began to refer to themselves as dating. As their relationship deepened and blossomed further into true love, Albrecht also began more and more aggressive to his unruly little brother, constantly fighting with him and forcing him into submission. When he was twenty-nine, Albrecht proposed to Leanna. She accepted and the preparations for the wedding began. In the mean time, Axel had taken up working at the diner, where he was perfectly content working forever. It got Albrecht wondering what he would do with himself to provide for his future wife and pups. What could he do? He had a high school education, but he hadn't attended college of any sort.

Deciding to leave the pack was one of the hardest decisions he made in his thirty years of existence. For months before he left, he slowly tried to detach himself from Leanna, hoping to save her some of the pain when he finally left her. He made plans to leave, to fund an education for himself at University of California with his parents' money, which he would take. Albrecht had everything worked out in his mind...except how to leave behind his love.

Continuously, he put off telling her he was leaving. But, he finally realized that he couldn't marry her when he was planning to leave. The night before they were to wed, he scaled the side of her home and climbed into the window of her room to wake her and tell her what was going on. The entire time, his gut clenched with guilt and fear. Albrecht watched the one person who meant the world to him try desperately to convince him what he was doing was just wedding nerves. For a minute, he almost believed her and might have stayed. But, he convinced himself he was leaving and, as she shouted at him, he simply held her tight and sighed. Even as she sobbed, he held her and told her it would be okay. With a final kiss, he told her he loved her and left her to go fly out to California on his parents' money.

In California, he attended a program in political science for three years, spending his summers earning credits too so he would graduate earlier. His first year at college was stressful, full of studying and cramming. By his next year, he was slowly unwinding and becoming easier going. In his last year, he was just about as easy-going as ever and much more relaxed than he'd been with the burden of a pack on his shoulders. Afterwards, he attended University of Washington for law school. Once qualified, at thirty-seven, he returned to the eastern side of Pennsylvania to practice there for law. In his time away from the pack, he joined countless other packs and even flirted with and dated other women. One woman in particular, who he flirted with, was the cause of a nasty scar that he still bears. With a decent amount of money stored up, he finally decided fairly recently to return to his childhood home and, if lucky, reclaim his love.

So begins...

ImageAs Derek's back hit asphalt from a blow to the gut, somewhere in the vicinity of his kidney—and he didn't have time to appreciate the fact that he had a spare because he was distracted by the sudden and agonizing pain that accompanied it, there was a verbal barrage with Sara's name on it sitting on his tongue like fire. Damn her naivety about other rogue wolves, they weren't all good intentions and she had to of known Derek was coming to get her...He had said he would, why couldn't she have just waited in the bar? If she had, then he wouldn't be laying flat on his back right now, engaged in some fight with an older alpha. He pushed Sara out of his mind as he kipped up--swinging his legs up to his chest before arching his back so that he popped up on both feet. His jaw was going hurt like a mother fucker tomorrow, but he wasn't going to cry about it now, besides, his adrenaline was pumping so furiously he couldn't feel the sting just yet.

If Derek Hale had been an ordinary werewolf, be would probably have backed down at this point--held out his hands and said something placating in an attempt to avoid exposing werewolves to mankind...but Derek Hale was not ordinary. He was a hot headed, alphic, testosterone driven male with his mate on the line(Supposedly). His eyes had gone feral, he was breathing heavily, and he was fighting for control. Werewolves could smell subtle differences in different emotions, and to a born werewolf who'd had his entire life to memorize the distinct flavors of the olfactory-emotional spectrum, he knew exactly just how enraged Albrecht was...but it hardly rivaled his own temper. This older alpha was fighting because Derek was fighting, Derek was fighting for his lover-for his claim.

ImageA truly ferocious growl that rattled his bones ripped its way from his throat as he swung on Albrecht with enough force to send the man flying backward into Sara's vehicle, signaling the car alarm. The dent in the frame cast by Albrecht's body was no small thing. His sensitive canine ears picked up a sickening squelch and the crunching of bone. Nothing dire, barely a scratch by Were standards but still. He moved to advance on the downed dog before the flash of a camera phone lit up his face. His pupils contracted, trying to adjust to the light, giving him enough time to register just was what happening. He paused mid-stride to look out over a formed crowd with the cell phones whipped out, taking video, gawking like the spectators they were.

After Axel dismissed the pack meeting and left for the diner, she presumed, though he rarely consulted her on anything he did, so truly he could be anywhere, Leanna returned home. Usually, when she had some spare time, she headed down to the diner. Her shift didn't start 'til early evening, but there was always something to do there, be it sorting the books, ordering supplies or even a little help with customers. She even tried to use being there for work as an excuse to spend a little time with Axel, in the hopes of improving their always slightly precarious relationship. However, following recent events, the last thing Leanna wanted to do was spend time with her mate, especially if that new waitress he'd been flirting with the previous day was working. Besides, she was far too stubborn to go and see him. It would feel too much like she was trying to please him. This morning at the pack meeting she'd allowed her anger towards Albrecht to get the better of her and she'd agreed with Axel with so much vigour that some may have even deemed her behaviour sycophantic. But she wanted Axel to know she was angry at him for what had happened with Cat at the diner yesterday, so going to work wasn't an option.

However, Leanna could not just spend the day sitting around the house wasting time simply to spite him. She set about cleaning the kitchen in an attempt to fill her time. But the inane task was not enough to keep her mind off all the things that were troubling her. Albrecht was back. Was he really going to try and reclaim his position as Alpha? How could she bear to look at him every single day and have all those memories flood back to her? With him gone she was only just able to banish him from her mind, but now he was back, she could hardly manage to avoid seeing him, let alone thinking about him. And Axel. Their relationship had always always given Leanna cause for concern, but over time she had simply come to terms with the truth and tried to make the best of it. But between the new waitress, Cat and Axel's apparent utter lack of concern for flirting with her right in front of Leanna and Albrecht and all the feelings seeing him had dragged to the surface, her issues with Axel were weighing even more heavily on her mind than usual.

Eventually, Leanna hurled the cloth onto the surface, no longer able to continue the menial task. She immediately went to her bedroom and changed into a pair of black leggings and a tight fitting white t-shirt. She pulled on a pair of sneakers, scraped her hair into a high ponytail and left the house, locking the door behind her. She launched in to a jog the moment the key was in her pocket, her feet pounding against the side walk. Leanna had always found running helped take her mind off things, and it still proved to be correct. The moment the wind was whipping past her face, tousling a few loose strands of hair, she felt better. She was not as naive as to say her worries simply evaporated, but at least she could cast her mind elsewhere.

That was, until she reached the bar. She paused at the edge of the road opposite it in preparation to cross the road, when suddenly, she saw Al. Leanna froze. Albrecht was stood beside a car at the curbside. Directly in front of him was a man Leanna didn't recognise, but who obviously wasn't pleased with Al. His stance was aggressive, as though he was squaring up for a fight. Near the pair stood Sara, looking a little more than nervous. Leanna stood and watched their exchange, rooted to the spot. Even when the 'walk' sign showed and everyone else crossed, she didn't move, not wanting to stay, but unable to walk on by. She watched Al respond aggressively to the man before turning to Sara and asking her something. Sarah kept her eyes fixed to the floor in such a reticent way that Leanna wouldn't have known she'd responded, was it not for the slight movement of her lips. Then, in horror, Leanna watched the man stand up over Al in a predatory fashion, and it was then that she realised he was in fact a wolf. In one swift movement, he shoved her former fiancé in a gesture that more resembled a punch.

Oh shit, Leanna realised, people were beginning to stop and stare warily. The unfamiliar wolf growled viciously and his eyes flashed angrily, his features becoming more animalistic by the second. Albrecht recovered himself and responded sharply to his assailant. Then, out of nowhere, he threw a punch at the man's face before kneeing him in the stomach. What an idiot! Leanna thought angrily. He'd been back in town not one full day and he was already fighting with strangers in public places, attracting attention to his hidden identity. Leanna knew she couldn't leave it a moment longer, she had to intervene, as much as she hadn't wanted to go anywhere near Albrecht, his stupidity was about to expose them all. She crossed the street as the other wolf pulled himself back on to his feet. He growled in a way no human could before landing a blow to Albrecht that sent him flying back into the car, leaving a dent in the body of the vehicle and God only knows what damage to Albrecht. Immediately, the car alarm went off, and any remaining person in the area who had still, somehow, been oblivious to the events instantly turned towards the source of the noise. Leanna was nearly at Al's side when the man took a step towards him, but he paused, turning to look at a crowd that had gathered, filming him.

Leanna's hand closed around Albrecht's wrist. He hadn't hit the ground, but his body was pressed against the car. She grabbed him, her grasp surprisingly strong for her small stature, dragging him sharply to his feet.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" she shouted at him, her brown eyes flashing with anger towards him. She began to march away from the scene, her hand clasped around his wrist, nails digging into the skin leaving tiny, red crescent moons in his flesh. Suddenly, she stopped, doubling back on herself so she was at the unknown wolf's side.

"And I don't care who the hell you are, but I am the Alpha Female in this town and there will be no public fighting between wolves!" Her voice was low enough not to be heard by the spectators, but her tone still conveyed her biting fury. She then turned to Sara, eyeing her. She didn't say anything to the woman but simply fixed her with a look of disapproval mixed with pity, before turning on her heel and beginning to march away, hand still holding onto Albrecht tightly, like an errant child who was expected to run away at any moment.

Albrecht smirked arrogantly as Derek hit the pavement with a rough growl. His fists lowered slightly as his naively let his guard down before the younger wolf. Perhaps it was because he didn't give the other man the benefit of the doubt, but it was truly because he had grown cocky in his old town. Being gone so long had certainly scoured his self-confidence. But, now he felt in charge again and like an Alpha wolf, though he still was not. Unfortunately, he didn't seem to realize that Derek felt the same way.

Before he could react, a growl erupted from Derek's throat and caused Al to suddenly swung his head around to look at the other male. His fist collided with Albrecht and sent the older male flying into the car he'd been trying to fix earlier with a sickening crunch and the accompanying cry of bystanders. The car of this guy's girlfriend. Smooth moves, Skippy," he couldn't help but think, though pain radiated through his body. He groaned in pain and curled up into a ball slowly as his bones mended themselves. Heat seared in the extremes of his body and then all throughout his form until he felt he wold die. Then, it stopped, and he pulled himself up right, though still sore.

His eyes honed in on Derek and he was ready to fling himself off of the car in full wolf form when a hand gripped his wrist. His blood suddenly stopped boiling as he looked to the side and locked eyes with Leanna. She pulled him roughly to his feet and he staggered for a moment, certainly surprised that she'd lifted him off of the car.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" she yelled. Her eyes shone with a rage he hadn't seen before or, at least, in ages.

"Leanna, I-" he began, but she gripped his wrist tighter and began to drag him along like a misbehaving hound. His eyes narrowed and he snarled briefly before suddenly calming. Leanna trudged off from the scene but, as if sudden remembering something, stopped and glared at Derek. Al nearly tripped over the smaller, female wolf.
Image
As she lectured the younger male, Al smirked behind her at the male, giving him a look that seemed to say "I-told-you-so" even though he had been guilty of fighting too.

"See you later, kiddo," he snarled as they walked off, letting Leanna walk him away like a kid who'd been running off to the candy aisle in a grocery store. Once they were a block away, though, he suddenly stopped and reached for his other arm. Putting an arm tightly, but not painfully so, around her upper arm, he pulled her in front of himself and looked down at her.

"I can walk by myself, Lea," he teased, smiling down at her in way that was both friendly and affectionate. "Sorry about that, though, sweetheart. That kid seemed to think he owned the town. I know Axel would have been P.O.'ed about it, but I couldn't just let some young, hormonal boy walk around like that." He smiled still and then, slowly, he frowned. "So, what happened at your pack meeting today? I'm out of the telepathic loop, but I couldn't but notice a bunch of wolves growling at each other this morning. I, uh, assume Axel was talking about me..."
