When Arian turned 13, her parents sent her away to various schools, trying to get her away from her siblings, thinking she was a bad influence on them. Within that first year, one of her sisters was diagnosed and died from cancer. She saw her sister the last week of her life, but Arian still hasn't healed. Since then, Arian had stayed away from her family and travels most of the time. Hoping the camp would make Arian more human, Arian's parents sent her to the camp unwillingly.

Arian had spent the long car ride blasting music, trying to keep herself motivated to go to the camp. She could have turned around at anytime and now as she was approaching it in her baby blue Subaru outback, it seemed like a better time then every to turn around. She knew she couldn't though. Her parents would be devastated and probably never let her see her brothers and sisters ever again.

She slowly pulled into a parking space and sighed. Turning off the car, she bounced onto the dirt and stretched. The air was more fresh here, inviting, and something she hadn't been use to. With a yaw, she opened up the back door and grabbed her duffel bag she had practically lived out of for the past week. She unzipped the top part and sorted through her clothes. What to wear, what to wear? Arian realized she could probably change in her cabin but she didn't want to arrive in sweat pants and a tee shirt. First impressions were extremely important to her.

Finally deciding on a pair of khaki short shorts and a floral tank top, she pulled off her clothes, exposing a blue sequined bikini, and slipped into the clothes. Arian was ready. Taking a deep breath, she entered the camp.

"Why are you taking me to camp again? I'm not a kid anymore...it's not like I need character development or anything. I'm almost an adult!"

"You ever think that maybe I want you to go to camp for myself?"

Zephyir grinned as the hair under his helmet whipped in the wind. "What's that supposed to mean?" he asked, "Dear uncle?"

"That I need a break." his uncle replied, looking straight as he steered the motorbike down the highway, "You have no idea how annoying you are."

"Annoying?" Zephyr reached out and tugged the man's ear, "What's THAT supposed to mean? How am I annoying? If I was annoying you could have just said so! And since when was being annoying a crime punishable by sleepaway camp? What if I get stabbed to death by a guy who thinks he's a girl? Then what will you do?"

"Hey! Stop that! Ow!" His uncle suddenly shrank, his ear slipping away from Zephyr's grasp. He shook his head, laughing. "You're just like your mother, sometimes," he said, his voice suddenly younger.

Zephyr smiled impishly, "I learn from the best." After a minute, he added, "You might want to change back. I see a police officer."

His uncle grew larger and returned to his previous size.

"See?" Zephyr said, "What would you do without me?"

After a few minutes, the motorbike pulled up to a large sign baring the words "Camp Keystone". Zephyr blew a stream of air out, ruffling his hair. Sounded like one of those things that was supposed to boost your confidence. Oh well...it was obvious his uncle wasn't going to change his mind. The bike came to a stop, and the older man cut off the ignition and stepped off. Removing his helmet, he hardly looked his age of mid-thirties. In fact, Zephyr guessed that he had shifted to look not a day over 25. He was more like an older brother anyways.

"So are you gonna pose as my uncle, or an older bro?" Zephyr asked as he pulled his own helmet off, ruffling his pitch black hair. His uncle shrugged, "I personally don't think it matters, but I'll let you know. Get your bags, and bike. I'll find a counselor."

Zephyr went for his bike first. As he unstrapped it, he looked around. He noticed a few campers. One caught his eye: a girl with a blue car. His breath caught in his throat, and he turned away. Humming Britney Spears' "Womanizer" he pulled his bike down and switched on the radio as he grabbed for his bags.

Arian stepped into the camp and sighed, sliding up her sunglasses. Where the hell am I suppose to go from here? She observed the space around her and placed her hands on her hips. Then, she finally caught sight of two guys and approached them cautiously. One was lugging around a bunch of energy drinks and another looked like he just got finished with a run. They don't look too threatening...

"Uhm, excuse me..." She gave herself a mental facepalm. What am I doing here? Oh right, trying to 'become human.' Right. "I don't really know where I'm suppose to go." She adjusted the duffel bag on her shoulder and shrugged.

Arian followed behind Athest, trying not to roll her eyes. C'mon Arian, cheer up. You are suppose to be having fun. She took a deep breath and and nodded her head. I can do this. She listened to Athest chat about sign in and blue bracelets. Oh, how exciting. She looked at the guy with the bike and smiled, acknowledging him. She wondered what he was. She tried to guess. Is he a vampire? No, they can't walk in the sun. Arian gave herself another mental facepalm. How crazy am I? Trying to guess what type of mythical creature this guy is. Ugh. She decided she would just follow Athest. No questions. Just listening.

Shortly after his uncle left, a camp counselor found him. He listened to the guy introduce himself and list out instructions: follow him, sign stuff, get a bracelet, and started after the guy when he left. The girl with the car followed along, and she smiled at him. He flashed a grin back. Maybe this camp would be better than he anticipated...

Yet another girl joined them. She looked gorgeous: luscious blonde locks, great build. This camp was really looking better. She introduced herself. Laylani....seemed Hawaiian. Zephyr briefly wondered if she could fight well and would appreciate the nickname of "Punch." The other girl could be Judy. He smiled at the thought.

As he followed the camp counselor (Athest, was it? Weird name. Almost like atheist mispronounced) he saw his uncle catch up to him. He introduced himself to Athest as "Avery" and shook his hand. Zephyr smirked. Avery, Alex, once it was Anthony...so long as it was an A name, his uncle always picked it. Avery and Alex were his favorite. Zephyr often wondered why his uncle didn't just go by his real name. Occasionally Zephyr would go by "Jeff" or "Jefferson" but more often than not, he'd use his real name or abbreviate it to "Zeph". Perhaps "Agile" (that's uh-GEEL, thank you) was just too strange a name. Or perhaps he was sick and tired of people pronouncing it a-JILE. At least he admitted he was his uncle.

After the pleasantries and reassurances by the camp counselor, Agile took Zeph aside briefly. He knelt his head close to his ear and said too softly for human ears: "Are you sure you'll be all right?"

Zeph replied cheekily: "You should have thought about that before you sent me off here."

"I'm being serious."

One look at his uncle's suddenly black eyes confirmed that fact. Zeph nodded.

"Yeah, sure. I'll be fine. No need to worry about me. I'm always fine." He smiled widely to prove it and stuck out his tongue. He used to do that all the time when he was younger.

Agile seemed satisfied. He gave Zeph an awkward hug and patted him on the shoulder. "Don't get into any trouble. If you need me, my phone is always on."

"Got it. You gonna be able to sleep by yourself tonight, Uncle A?"

"Just don't get into any trouble."

Zeph gave a two-fingered salute, and his uncle gave a final nod before walking back towards the motorbike. Zeph watched him walk a few steps, then turned around and chased after the departing group.

After Arian received her bracelet and got signed in, it was time to find her cabin. She hoisted her duffel bag on her shoulder and starting walking toward Cabin number 2. She wondered about all the people she had seen so far and where they came from. She actually wanted to get to know people. Then again, she didn't. She also wanted to keep to herself.

Arian walked into the cabin and gasped. "Oh my god." This was bigger than any house she had ever lived in. Sure, her parents were rich, but they didn't really care to show it. She walked through all the rooms, astonished by each, and finally chose one on the top floor. She flopped down on her bed and sighed. I could get use to this.

Arian placed her bags on her bed and sat up. What to do, what to do? She decided she'd take a walk around the camp. She bounced down the stairs of her cabin and walked out the door. Where to go though? She could go toward the water, or to the campfire pit...Nah, the water sounds better. So Arian started walking and thought about the camp. She wondered about the people around her and what their powers were. Maybe people here had crazy powers, then again a lot of them were around her age, so they couldn't have totally mastered their powers.

Arian finally arrive at the shore. She sat down on a rock and sighed. The water was beautiful, she loved it, and started creating little whirlpools in the water.

Arian had been playing around with the water when she heard some kicking. She turned to see two people about to play soccer. She had never really liked soccer, mainly because she was horrible at it, but watching it was a different experience. There bodies moved in a crazy fashion, one Arian decided to try and achieve the pattern with water.

She started with waving her fingers to twist the water. Then she swopped more water over the previous and smiled. The water has begun to dance around her. The air was filled with the dampness of the water and she sucked it into her senses. Arian was happy with the way she way, for the most part. Sure, she was cast out from her family and never got to see her siblings. Nothing could take away from the bright happiness that swayed over her siblings faces though, when she was able to play around with them.

Zephyr sat up as Laylani left. Damn, he thought. He talked too much? Oh well. It wasn't like him to change his habits because of some girl he barely knew. She was pretty hot though.

He jumped to his feet and walked around the camp. It really was huge. He broke out into a fast run, and felt just inches away from taking off the ground. He loved running like that. Eventually he got to a treeline. Eyes wide at the size of the pines, his Cheshire Cat grin plastered on his face again, and he kicked off his shoes. Barefoot, he kicked off the ground and grabbed at the trunk. A couple yards above the ground, he scrambled up the tree. About halfway to the top, he brought his claws out. He noticed it took a bit more effort than usual to do so, but he brushed it off as not being entirely focused. As he neared the tip of the tree, he lowered his age so his weight wouldn't collapse the thinner branches. This, too, took more effort than he was used to, but again he paid no mind.

Finally reaching the top, he exhaled deeply for the first time since he started climbing. He clung to the highest branch like a monkey, smiling like crazy, and he started laughing at his achievement, eyes sparkling. He could see the whole camp from up here! It was great! A light breeze flipped through his hair, and he stared at everything below him hungrily. He noticed a lake where several campers seemed to have congregated. He saw a couple people playing soccer almost directly below him, and another girl literally playing with the water. He thought about yelling to see if they could hear him, but decided against it. Instead, he sat contentedly against the pine needles, imagining if this was what Christmas ornaments felt like.

Arian was playing around in the water when the trees above her started to feel a little beat. She glanced up to the trees above her and sighed. Stupid people. She could already feel the tree start to bend. She stood up abruptly and started to run. She knew the tree could withhold his weight, but the subtle cries from it weren't helping her to slow down. She ran faster, trying to reach the top of the hill sooner, and when she did, she looked up to see a boy.

"Uhm, excuse me?" She tilted her head to try and see the guy's face. "Could you come down here please?" She scratched the back of her head. Wow, this is embarrassing. What am I gonna say to him? How about, hey I can feel what nature feels and this tree is crying? She smacked herself in the face.

Zephyr's ears perked when he heard a voice directed at him. He swiveled to see where it was coming from, and pinpointed it as it asked for him to come down. It was the girl with the car from earlier. Why did she want him to come down? Did she want to talk to him? Had he done something wrong? Or was she interested in him? What if she wanted to beat him up? It wasn't too far-fetched of an idea. Once he got beat up by the new kid for no reason at all.

Eventually his curiosity got the better of him, and he slid down the tree. He reached the ground in a few minutes, and jogged up to the girl, retracting his claws. He was a bit out of breath since he climbed down rather fast, and when he was close enough to the girl he put his hands on his knees and ducked his head, panting. When he caught his breath, he looked up. "Yes?" he asked, managing a small smile, "Did you want something with me? I hope it's something good, because I climbed down that tree so fast it threatened my health."

Arian anxiously looked at the guy who she could swear had claws before, and tried not to roll her eyes. "Uhm, yeah. I..." She racked her brain for something that didn't sound completely insane and sighed. There's nothing but the truth I guess. She took another deep breath. "I just wanted to tell you that you were hurting the tree." She shyly walked toward the tree and grazed her hand over the claw marks. The bark shook slightly as it mended together. She smiled and rubbed the bark. There ya go, poor tree.

Arian turned back toward the guy and shrugged. "Don't worry it's fine now. I'm Arian by the way." Well, that's that. She smiled and started walking off, trying to think of things to do.

He was hurting the tree? Ridiculous! He was about to say so when he noticed her putting her hand over his claw marks. Feeling a bit sheepish, he held his tongue for once and watched as she healed it. She turned towards him when she was done and shrugged. "Don't worry it's fine now," she said, "I'm Arian by the way." Before Zephyr could introduce himself, she up and left. Really? What was up with these people just abandoning him? Maybe he was fine with it the first time, but not the second. He followed after her, walking rapidly until he was in front of her, then turned around and walked backwards.

"So, Arian? I'm Zephyr, but you can call me Zeph and...well, I'd actually just prefer Zeph." He put his arms behind his head as he continued travelling in reverse. "Where are you going? What cabin are you in? Do you want to do something together? Am I ugly? I must be, since people keep trying to get away from me. Was that your car earlier? Why do you drive? Am I annoying you?" As if on cue, he felt a stump halt his moving foot, and he fell over backwards. He manged to catch his fall with his hands and ended up doing a handstand. He flipped back to his feet and held up his hands. "I'm okay. In case you were wondering." He smiled.

Arian was a little surprised when she heard the rush of words come after her. She smiled at Zeph, attempting to answer his questions, but never receiving the chance. When he finally stopped, after a crazy handstand, she uprooted some vines and gently placed them over his mouth. Maybe now, I'll be able to answer something. She smiled and took a deep breath. "I don't really remember everything you just said, but I'll do my best to answer you, okay?"

She slowly unraveled the vines and smiled. She tried to think back to what he said. "Uhm, you said something about a car...Yes I have a car because I don't really have any other way to get around." She shrugged. "Just like most people I guess." She stepped away from Zeph and let the vines return to their original places in the ground. "What were your other questions?"

Zeph found the vines completely unpredictable. Despite his uncle's threats to forcefully close his mouth, he had never acted upon them. This girl sure was different. The dragon boy was starting to like her a whole lot more.

Her answer about her car left behind a stone in his mind that refused to dislodge. Ignoring her request for a repetition of his previous questions, he continued pressing the one about the car. "You could always bike. Or get a motorcycle. Or walk. Or even rent out a private jet," he replied. He was about to argue that they were less dangerous than riding in a car when he heard a voice on a loud speaker asking for them to report to the bonfire. Distracted from the car to the prospect of a fire, he looked eagerly at Arian. "What do you think we'll be doing? Do you think we'll be eating? Marshmallows? Hot Dogs? I've always wanted to roast a hot-dog over a bonfire. Hey, let's go together, okay?" He didn't wait for an answer, and instead grabbed the edge of her sleeve and tugged her along as he walked.

Arian was about to protest but decided against it. Oh well. She also wondered what sorts of things would be going on at the campfire. She shrugged at Zeph and took her sleeve back, walking along next to him. "I don't really know how to do any of those, plus I love my car and find driving a lot easier." She thought about roasting marshmallows and hot dogs. Yummy, I haven't had any of those in a while. "I could go for some campfire food. I hope we don't have to go through any of those stupid ice breaker things though. I hate those. Everyone feels so awkward." She sighed. She really did hate being put in that position. Do they think we don't have social skills or something?

Arian listened to the camp advisers intently. Not that she cared so much, but there wasn't a lot to do. She glanced around at the people surrounding her, wondering what each held underneath. She doubted any of them were seriously dangerous but she knew better than to automatically trust someone. Especially in a camp like this one, where no one really knew anyone. She wondered about the curfews and why they were so strict. Sure, she was at a camp, but what could be so dangerous about a forest or staying out too late? She sighed to herself, bored, and started playing with the ground below her. She started with making grass grow faster, then decided to have a little more fun and mess with the roots under people's feet. Yes, it was an immature thing to do, but she wasn't one to be bored all the time.

Arian leaned back against a tree and sighed. She was getting bored. Even messing around with people was getting boring. She was about to sneak off when she saw Nick go out and find the missing kids. She rubbed her temples and took a deep breath, desperately wanting to punch someone. I can get through this camp. I'll just get through it, and show my mom how I can't be human...Simple.

Arian watched the people around her. Some were chatting nicely while others were a bit, withdrawn. One guy looked seriously down. He had just walked back to the bonfire from somewhere and had his head down. She approached him slowly, wondering if he was dangerous. She sat down next to him though and asked softly, "Are you okay?" He was covered in head to toe dark colors and she smiled at this. He looked pretty cute, but sad or something.

Justin looked up. " I'm fine its just that i need something to do around here, something that doesn't make me feel bored like crap and that i can't do anything". ((Wow here I was waiting for someone to reply! Sorry!))

Arian shrugged next to the guy and smiled. "Well, I'm Arian anyway." She rubbed her fingers in front of her stomach. "I can...communicate with...nature I guess." She figured sounding stupid would help with how he was feelings. She decided seeing other people act stupid always made her feel better, so why not this guy? She rubbed her temples. God, so stupid.

Arian sighed and smiled toward the guy next to her. He seemed like an okay person, not exactly a happy one, but not one who would bite her head off either. Not to mention he is gorgeous. She listened to Nick discuss things about the camp and tried to block him out. She hated having to feel like a child being told what and what not to do. When he finally released them to their cabins though, she was relieved. She turned her head to the guy and smiled again. "Do you know who Justin is? I'm suppose to be rooming with him."

Arian had just stepped out of the shower when she heard the wake up call. Quickly brushing her hair and putting on a little makeup to make her bright eyes pop, she ran into her dorm and started looking for clothes. She found a cute outfit, perfect for the first day at camp. Making sure to pack a couple extra necessities into her bag, she slipped on her boots and headed to breakfast.
