Element/Type of Magic: He has the element of fire, and knows how to use it in many more various ways than most fire mages do. He doesn't use this much for violence since he's not the violent type of guy, but he will use it if or when needed. Kai usually uses his fire just to light wood for heat, or to light candles, or just for light in general, but it's rare to see him using it in battle. Another type of magic he carries is a strange ability to make himself look younger than he really is, explaining why his age differs to much with his appearance.

Appearance: Kai has a very strange appearance, especially since he's really 87 years old. His hair used to be a black, but he dyed it later on in his adult years, resulting in it being blonde and just hitting his shoulders. His bangs sometimes covers his blue eyes, being slightly messy since he doesn't take care of himself very well. He wears dropping blue or green earrings on both his ears, something left by the past guild master onto him. His clothing is a very loose white shirt, a blue jewel necklace dangling near the opening, and a checkered salmon and grey jacket that he leaves hanging, rarely putting his arms through the sleeves. Below that is just black dress pants and fancy black shoes. In some way, he looks a bit like a professor or a very significant person when he really thinks of himself much lower than that.
Kai stands at exactly 5 feet and 9 inches, being a bit short for his appearance, and even for his actual age (though he'd look like an actual grandpa). He's not the strongest or fastest person you'd know, so there's nothing too special about his build or body unfortunately. It's one of the things he's so envious about youth since he no longer has that, even though he looks like a young man. Physically, he may look young and healthy, perhaps even athletic, but mentally, he still moves like any old man would.
Kai also thinks of himself as an old man, seeing how he is 87 years old, despite him being in such a young body. Whenever he's asked to do something like sprint far to get something, or help someone in some way, he's unable to do it, making up the valid excuse that his 'old man instincts' were kicking in again, which really was true. He had barely much strength physically, and usually watches all these hyper activities the guild takes part in from afar, or doing a small part so he wouldn't strain himself although he really does want to try and get more socially active like he used to when he was a child.
He never thinks of himself as someone of importance or high rank, even though he really is. Kai's always putting others in front of himself first, especially since the guild is his only family, and doesn't like it when he is given too much respect. When he does get too much respect, he feels as if it's out of fear, or because he's found as very important, so he feels as if he's getting too much credit for such small things.
Finally, Kai has a very protective part to him. He's always caring about his family in the guild, and if they were to get hurt in any way, or be threatened, he'd become darker and more violent than anyone would expect, even though he's a pacifist. This is when Kai decides to use his magic as a full fledged Mage, and go all out on defending what he cares for most in the world.

Bio:Kai grew up in the guild ever since he could remember. He didn't have a seriously bad childhood, being raised around his family and loved ones. He never learned much about violence, and his parents only taught him about the positive sides of being a Mage, not the darkness and evil that it could cause. He was always playing with fire, most people trying to stand a bit further away from him because they thought it was dangerous, but he had complete control over his usage of fire ever since a few days he began to learn the amazements of fire magic. Kai also got used to using a magic that his mother used to make herself younger, and she taught him it when he became a teenager. He never got enough time to master it until he was an adult when he used the spell, and got stuck with his current appearance ever since then.
Unfortunately, his mother and father passed away from old age, and it obviously bothered Kai more than anything, him being depressed for a year or so. It's then when he learned about the darkness of certain types of magic, and where he entered a quiet state where he talked to no one and opened up to no one. Luckily, this was only for a year until the guild master of Fairy Tail took him under his wing as an apprentice as a Mage, and a guild master although he never told Kai that until he was on his death bed. When he died of old age, Kai decided not to be saddened, and instead looked forward to taking on the job his teacher prepared him for, and continuing on his work as a kind and forgiving guild master.
