Childhood/Family Life:
Hudson is the product of a marriage that had a short expiration date on it. His father, Paul Allen, was an innovator, and the co-creator of Microsoft. He was reclusive, independent, and very work-oriented, which left him with no genuine desire for a family. However, not even an innovative genius like himself could completely escape societal pressures, and after much insistence from his family, he did attempt to date in his late thirties. Hudson's mother, Anastasia, was on the brink of leaving her first marriage to a Russian multi-millionaire when she brushed shoulders with Paul at some charity gala, and well, considering that she was the perfect definition of a gold digger, the stars had aligned in order for her to meet Paul while he was in that mindset. They went on only a few dates before Anastasia locked him in by insuring that she became pregnant with his child. The two married upon her insistence, but Paul ensured that a pre-nup was involved. Nonetheless, once their very-much-expected divorce came, a few months after Hudson's birth, she was still left with a staggering child support check, plus alimony from her first marriage, so Anastasia wasn't worried.

In fact, by the time that Hudson was four, she had found her way into a new marriage that relocated Hudson from London, England, to New York City. This was where Hudson grew up, and now that he and his mother were back in the states, he was actually able to maintain a somewhat-decent relationship with his father. The man wasn't there to witness his happiness when he came home with a perfect report card, or teach him how to play catch in Central Park, but he was there in more ways than just his child support check. Sadly, growing up in Manhattan, this wasn't even really abnormal, so Hudson was never dramatically affected by the lack of his father's physical presence.

When he was thirteen, his mother had twin boys, giving Hudson siblings. It wasn't that Hudson wasn't interested in them or disliked them, but he was beginning to get to that age where he had better things to do than babysit kids that were only half-related to him, in his opinion, so he never developed much of a bond with him. Instead, he was focusing on his teenage years, and it was a good thing that he was, because he had prepared himself to rule the private academy that he was enrolled in. He was the king of his jungle, and he knew from the very start of his college-search process, that he wanted to be king of whatever college he attended, too. Somehow forgetting that he, himself, had dropped out of college, Hudson's father insisted that he attend an Ivy, but he wasn't all that bothered when he set his heart on Fulton. The academic programs were pretty good, and as a former Greek himself, Paul couldn't blame his only child for wanting to go to a school with such a strong Greek presence.

Quirks//Habits//Oddities:
Always looks people up and down | Rarely drinks anything other than water, if it's non-alcoholic | Is constantly on the quest for the best workout playlist

Good personality traits:
Vibrant, Witty, Driven, Strong

Bad personality traits:
Conceited, Selfish, Boastful, Privileged, Competitive

Personality:
Hudson posses a lot of character traits that make him the perfect president of the Beta Gamma Omega fraternity. He's intelligent and responsible, with an academic record that reflects that. He's the kind of guy who's good with his words, in regards to him being able to impress professors, woo his latest chick's parents, and take down some pathetic wannabe challenger with some snide remark. He knows how to organize events, donate money, and do things to make him and his fraternity look like Jesus himself sent him down to earth to do some holy work in his name. Don't get me wrong, though; Hudson is definitely privileged and it's something that frequently becomes apparent after only one conversation with him. A lot of people seem to look past this (to his benefit), but it's easy to collect thousands of dollars of charity money when your dad has a staggering net worth. It's easy to put on that act, that you're really some sweet and innocent philanthropist organization, in order to get away with some brutal hazing and crazy parties. That's the kind of thing that Hudson lives for, and it was a sort of privilege that he grew up with, even before coming to Fulton.

He has this air around him, that speaks to how in love he is with himself, and how he just assumes that people should be, as well. To an extent, it's understandable that a lot of people do like and respect him. He's charismatic and influential, finding it easy to get people on his side and convince them to do his bidding. His egotistical side is, in his defense, a reflection of his confidence level too, and as influential people will tell you, the only way to garner respect from others, is to instill that self-respect in yourself. Hudson thinks that he's amazing and capable and number one, and somehow, that has allowed him to become "number one" in a lot of aspects in his life. He's the kind of person who believes that he can do no wrong, and growing up as a wealthy white male, can you really blame him? Probably, but it's like the world was designed for him to think that way.

Underneath his charming and witty exterior is a darker side to Hudson that not many people see. It's rooted in his competitive nature, his insecurities, and his extreme need to be the best, that he feels threatened by anyone who might even potentially come in his way. That side of him can be ruthless, but physically and verbally, and when alcohol is involved, it's like he transforms into a completely different person. All cards are off the table and the only person he can focus on is himself.

Greatest joys in life:
Success, money, food, liquor

Greatest fears:
Poverty, losing any of his limbs, killing/injuring someone in a car accident, being rejected by his father

Life philosophy:
"If you ain't first, you're last." -- Ricky Bobby

Thoughts on Greek Life:
"What's not to love about Greek life? Well, I mean, I guess if you're not a Beta, you've got a lot to not love. Life as a Beta is the best, though, and you better not believe an ounce of the shit that the other frats are going to try and feed you, to try to get you to join their pathetic excuses of organizations. Who tops the charts in donations each year? Us. Who ends up with the most influential alumni? Us. Whose members are the ones that could bang any girl on campus, not call her back after promising to do so, and would still go down in history as her best fuck ever? That's right - us. So do I have anything bad to say about Greek life? Abso-fucking-lutely not."

Plans for after college:
His father wants him to get involved with the investment portion of his corporation, Vulcan Capital, so that's likely where Hudson will end up, following college. He knows that he wants to live in New York, though, so that may take some convincing to his father, that opening up an office in New York, that Hudson could manage, would be a good investment.

Build:
He stands at 5'11 with a fit, toned, build.

Hair Colour:
Brown

Eye Colour:
Brown

Distinguishing Marks:
None

Style:
Hudson's style reeks of money. That's the best way to put it. Whether he's rocking a designer tux, or a pair of jeans and a leather jacket, you know that it was expensive. He really doesn't mind formal clothing, so he won't shy away from sporting a suit jacket to make an outfit look more professional. At the same time, when leisure calls, leisure calls, and he's comfortable wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt too.

Tuesday, October 4 || 12: 30 PM || Location: South Campus Lawn || Weather: Sunny, partly cloudy with winds coming from the south

It was something about the day that had a certain kind of buzz trickling into each and every vein of each and every student on the campus of the magnanimous Fulton University. Seniors and professors alike would tell you that it was perhaps the excitement of the upcoming Homecoming Week, which would mark the return of esteemed alumnae whose legacies were still felt in the halls they once occupied. Older staff members might say it was the stifling heat of the near oppressive Miami sun, its beams bearing down on each and every individual as they made their way across campus, some wearing less stifling clothes than others. The promise of water rides and cool refreshments for later in the afternoon practically drying tongues with anticipation for the Annual Fulton Carnival. However, as newer and the band of less sentimental students would tell you, perhaps...it was the thrill of the unknown...of the spine-tingling allure of Rush Week. While the Student Organization Fair was exciting in and of itself, there was still something devastatingly seductive about seeing the booths for the competing Greek houses, all of their members decked out in their Greek colors. The synergy of their competitive spirits was electric in the air and there was no telling what could happen before the rest of the day's celebrations...

To be quite fair, it was not like Naomi had left the girls, Xanthe in particular, unprepared. For one, she had specified that she needed to finalize the plans for the foam party, which meant overseeing the yacht docking, making sure that catering was still on, and the other small details she needed to iron out while simultaneously making sure that they had enough snacks and such for those who visited the Alpha Theta Pi. They had been decorating since Sunday and Naomi had had the small menu - yes, she was doing extra and no, she did not give a damn - for snacks planned out back on Saturday. Xanthe didn't have those things planned out. Naomi just wanted to see how she would handle dealing with having to keep track of which of the Alpha ladies could leave duty at what time, greeting and informing prospective members while getting contact information from the ones that really stood out, and keeping up when food started to run out. She had left an hour ago and she had been getting one of the seniors to keep her updated on the sophomore's progress.

With her plans having been laid down in full last night, Naomi had been with the first wave of Alpha Theta Pi members setting the booth up and getting the food to the Lawn where all of the organizations, non-Greek affiliated included, were setting up. Like Naomi, some of the other girls who had helped earlier, especially seniors who needed all the credits they could get to graduate on time, had to leave. But she made it a point that everyone, much like every other Greek organization, had to wear the house colors. While she had made it clear that the girls could wear either pink or green, Naomi had done well with incorporating both colors into her ensemble. Her apple-green dress wasn't one of her most expensive items, not that she normally checked which brands she wore, but her elegance and refinery still stone through with the garment was accompanied by Lily Pulitzer sandals, Hellmuth bracelet from Portero, and Samira pearl-drop earrings. Naomi ran a hand through her hair idly as she closed the driver's side door of her Bugatti Chiron. Just as she made sure it was locked, she noted a few guys from the football team, shirtless, and painted in Fulton's school colors and had to laugh. "This is about to be interesting," she mused to herself quietly and stepped onto the sidewalk and headed to the gate to blend in with the throng of students coming and going.

After checking with the yacht her father had made sure to dock in Miami, Naomi did herself - and Jade - a favor by actually getting food without being prompted. She had drank a small mug of coffee when she first woke up, but stopped at Pasión del Cielo - a place she had found with Chantal - for the largest vanilla latte they had and an empanada. Nibbling on the flaky treat, she got the idea to text Jade a picture of her good deed for the day while simultaneously checking up on her favorite people. She didn't have to rush back to the Alpha booth anyway, after all.

To: Jade
See!? Eating w/out prompting lol! Aren't u proud of me?

To: Zan
Everything good?

To: Kat, Tamara
You guys behaving lol??

To: Chanti

Hudson's attire for the day was a clear representation of his dedication to the Beta house. He wore a crimson colored suit, with a silver tie as an additional tribute to the house. Call it over done, if you will, but there was no denying that Hudson could rock it, even in the Miami heat. Maybe he was conceited and egotistical and way too "much" for some people's liking, but Hudson took pride in the fraternity that he led, and he didn't care if that was known. Plus, if there was any day to make a statement about how superior one's house was, it was today. Though Hudson was sure that any freshman capable of becoming a Beta had probably done some research over the summer anyway, today was technically one of the first days that those freshman would actually get to learn, first-hand, about the fraternities. As President of the Beta house, he needed to make a point that he and his men were serious about pride. The Beta household was the oldest fraternity on campus, and that rich history in itself gave them a reason to be proud of who they were, and what their colors represented. He needed to show these freshmen that they weren't looking for guys who couldn't spend a few hours in the blaring heat in a pair of pants and a blazer, who were too embarrassed to stand out to be proud to wear a non-traditionally colored suit like he was. They were looking for real men and when it came down to it, Hudson was sure that he would be able to pick them out of the crowd before the boys even got close enough to their booth. The majority of these freshman recruits would be Sigma or Kappa material, but the ones who really had potential would be lucky enough to find themselves an exclusive bid from the Betas, and Hudson was confident that not a single one would turn it down.

While he had not been able to man the table during the beginning of the Student Organization Day, due to a ten-thirty business class, he was now reaching the table, and with an entourage of men carrying takeout bags from Red, The Steakhouse, behind him. The Beta guys had done enough on their own, with getting the booth set up and looking superb, to seemingly doing a good job at keeping a decent sized crowd of potential pledges surrounding the table throughout the morning, and now that Hudson was back, he thought that they deserved a little break. And what better way to break, than to chow down on some steaks from one of the best steakhouses that Miami had to offer? Not only was it one of Hudson's favorite restaurants, but dining on steaks at such a casual event portrayed the elegant tastes of the Beta boys, and plus, it was a surefire way to get rid of any of those weird "I don't eat meat" types (who definitely belonged over by the Kappa booth).

In the Betas section, there were two table stationed in the front, where the most foot traffic was, that sported all of the showy banners and information boards and pamphlets that they needed. Hudson had assigned a couple of vibrant juniors and sophomores to be consistently over there, making conversation with the freshman, and instilling in them the exclusivity of their fraternity. Additionally, Hudson had purchased a couple hundred t-shirts from the bookstore, that just had the Fulton University logo on it. They had no affiliation to Greek life or the Betas, but they were a nice touch to be able to hand out, and a little signal to the administration that the Beta boys promoted Fulton pride, over Greek pride, even if that wasn't true. Plus, he didn't want a bunch of losers walking around wearing Beta shirts, so the idea of handing out shirts with their own fraternity on it had been shot down earlier on. Behind that table were a couple of others where some of the other fraternity members sat. Occasionally, if a guy seemed worthy enough, he'd be passed along further into the Beta booth, to speak with seniors and juniors who took down more information on the kid. Those were the tables that Hudson headed to with the food, mostly because they were the ones with the most space on them. After tipping the restaurant's employees who had come to deliver the steaks, he turned to his boys, catching their attention when there weren't too many recruits in the area. "All right, boys, dig in. Red's never disappoints, and after all the work we put in this week, I think we deserve this." He began to open up one of the bags, placing the packages inside on the table, before turning towards the coolers that were by the front table. Kienen was the closest to it, so he nodded at him, catching his attention. "Toss me a water, would ya?" He then turned to Andre, a fellow senior-Beta, and one of the guys that Hudson trusted and valued the most, primarily since he had known him since the beginning of his own time as a Beta. "Come across any good recruits yet, Valentine? I trust your word over most."

"Sim mãe , eu te amo, adeus." Yes mom, I love you, goodbye.

"Oh meu deus, essa mulher pode falar." oh my god, that woman can talk. Andre mutters to himself, buttoning up his scarlet shirt until only the top three buttons are left undone. Hudson had left him in charge of watching the younger brothers while he was in his business class, and Andre... overslept. The call from his mother had woken him up, and she insisted on hearing his plans for the day, and staying on the phone with him until he was at the annual Fulton Carnival. This is Andre's favorite time of year, what with the blazing Miami heat perfecting for surfing and banging bikini babes, and getting pledges for the famous Beta Gamma Omega.

Ah, Beta, his home. Nothing is better than throwing back a beer at the Beta house, especially when it's just him and his brothers. Soon, there would be a bunch of pledges ready for an errand or a chance to prove their loyalty to the best house on campus. Some would drop, as they always do, but the ones that make it through are worthy of the Beta brotherhood. Andre thinks that they've been softer since his pledge years, but with the recent scandals with hazing and chapters being shut down, they have to watch out. Man, the stories he had from his pledge years, he still tells them. Especially the ones about Hudson, pledging with that boy was certainly an experience. This year, being his final year, he would use the pledges exactly how he wanted to. Senior privileges and seniority are cherished principles in Beta house.

Andre still managed to make it to the Beta booth before any of the potential pledges stopped by, but the booth was already set up and he was essentially there now to stand and look pretty. Oh, and make freshmen boys want to be him.

Zanny
12:41 PM
your wish is my command, princess

Hudson shows up with a plethora of to-go boxes from spot Beta's frequent, Red's. It's just like Hudson to bring steak dinners to a summer carnival, but anything that can make Beta look better, Andre can't oppose. Plus, the way the eyes of the potential pledges gathered around the booth popped made Andre feel powerful. "Come across any good recruits yet, Valentine? I trust your word over most." Hudson comes over to him, and Andre smirks at his nickname.

"Awe, you're making me blush." Andre teases the other boy, folding his arms across his chest. The carnival has been going good, and the Beta list of invites for the foam party tonight has been decreasing enough for Hudson to be satisfied. "We'll meet quota, as long as these potential pledges live up to expectations. But hey, if you see Haezia, tell her there's a girl in my bed at home that'd be perfect for Zeta."

It isn't surprising that the Alpha Theta Pi booth is right across from Beta, making it easy for the best girls and the best boys to check out the best organizations, and each other. Andre wants to walk over and talk with Xanthe, and now that Hudson's made it to the Beta booth, he can sneak over. he walks around the carnival so he can sneak up on Xanthe, positioning himself so that he'll end up walking behind her. Just as Xanthe is finishing talking to a pledge, he slaps her on the ass then wraps his arm around her shoulders. "Lookin' all pretty for me, Zanny?" Andre whispers in her ear, taking a look around the Alpha booth. No Naomi yet. But he does see Jade, and winks at her.

Of course, by the time Naomi made it back to the quickly filling lawn where students were both greeting one another for the first time and conversing like old time friends, she wasn't surprised to see a few of the Alphas spread out in the crowd. Mostly seniors who had taken her example and wore green with pink accents, which made a bright smile flit across her face. It wasn't long for to become distracted by seeing a few STEM majors, one in particular a Beta named Tristan. He was her solace when she had to hang out with the Alphas, a buffer when Hudson served as nothing but a means of distraction before he would be lured away by the swing of hips his hands had not touched before. "Hello, handsome," she exclaimed the second she ran into Tristan, her hands failing to grip his thicker, hardened biceps. Naomi gave a brief squeeze before humming, grinning up at gorgeous green eyes. "Shit, you've worked out, like wow...crazy...hello, Protein World shakes." Tristan chuckled in his grasp; she could feel the tremor of his body in her fingertips and it had her smiling even brighter. "Miss President...you've been by the tables yet?" Naomi shook her head. "Nope, the air is oppressive enough without your brothers' massive egos poisoning my sensitive lungs." She responded and Tristan rolled his eyes, comfortably wrapping an arm around her waist as he led her in the direction of the Beta booth. In the meantime, while they both waved and said hi to a few classmates, Naomi checked her phone only to giggle at Katherine's text with a response. She refused to acknowledge the reasons why Xanthe would leave their booth; that was far too depressing and she hadn't finished her coffee yet.

To: Kat
Be back soon, Kit Kat

To: Zan
Playin hookie already? 4 shame babe

Like always, the Betas were dressed impeccably in their crimson and silver, though she suspected that Hudson was the one who convinced the others to dress up just a bit more than they normally would. The Beta president was the only man she knew, second to their fathers respectively, who would wear a suit in the sweltering heat without it being a requirement. It made her roll her eyes and laugh a little, but the smile fell just briefly when she noted Xanthe and Andre close-by. Because fuck you too, mother nature, her mind supplied bitterly when she couldn't quickly supply an actual greeting to the two. In all honesty, she didn't want to. It would require being more chipper than she already was and she would need another large cup of coffee before dealing with that. Instead, considering she and Tristan were still at a distance, she turned her attention to the Beta booth fully, grinning at Hudson's back. "Excuse me, your Royal Do-Too-Much-ness," she called to Hudson, pulling Tristan along with her behind to the tables that contained food. A few of the guys, seniors and juniors notably, peeked up and grinned at her in welcome, a few stopping to wipe their mouths and wave. Naomi only rolled her eyes at their boyish behavior and pushed Tristan forward, though he kept an arm around her. "I'm returning one of your stragglers." Tristan bumped her lightly while exclaiming, "Hey!" Naomi only winked at him before stating coquettishly, "Don't think I didn't notice you were late, mister. What kind of example are you setting for the babies?" Quickly, as she always did, her attention was back on Hudson and she noted his small plate before smirking, meeting his gaze. "Don't tell me you're already celebrating earning second place to the Alphas in terms of garnering prospective pledges now, Allen. I didn't think you of all people would admit defeat so easily."

The comments that Andre left Hudson with, about the Beta quota, and more so, having a girl in his bed that would be perfect for the Zeta house, left Hudson chuckling. This was why Andre was his right hand man - he had the sense of humor that Hudson possessed, and was there to keep things moving in the house when Hudson wasn't. "I'll let her know, but before I give her my Zeta stamp of approval, I might need to borrow her for a night to see for myself," Hudson followed up, turning back to hand out some of the food to the other Betas. He was crude and inappropriate, and definitely disrespectful towards whatever Zeta Andre had been referring to, but that was just how Hudson was, and somehow, having a pocket full of cash and an expensive suit on let him get away with it. And really, he wasn't going to complain about that. He missed Andre's quick exit as he took a seat and started on his own food, but had to take a pause when he spotted Tristan coming up with Naomi. As soon as a gulp of water washed his steak down, his smile turned upwards into a smirk.

"Nah, not celebrating anything other than the sheer joy of being a Beta. Plus, I'm guessing that Larry sent in a little dinghy for our party tomorrow. I figured I should give my men a little protein boost, since I'm sure you'll need one of my boys to man the oars. I told you, Princess; you should've let the Allen crew handle the boat selection."
Hudson's father and Naomi's father were competitive in a lot of things, given that their work genres were so closely tied together, but those who knew them on a more personal or social level, at least, knew that both men shared a pride in yachting, and it seemed like they worked almost as hard at one-upping each other in that field, as they did in the tech field. In a move that fit his boisterous and bold personality well, Hudson didn't let up there, though. He paused for only a second, before turning his head back towards the rest of the Betas, as if he had had an "ah-ha!" moment. "Hey, you know what? I think we have enough food to share with you too. Kienen, word on the street is that you know exactly what kind of meat she likes," Hudson was being playful in his opinion, but the knowing laughs and "woooooo"s coming from some of the other Betas, spoke to what he was getting at. "I'd tell you to fetch her something nice and pink, because damn, some of that that pink across the lawn looks good enough to eat, but I think you know Princess's tastes better than most of us, so you pick what you think's going to excite her the most." Andre was gone, so that was safe to say, and it was only safe, in the sense that he too, would know what kind of "meat" Naomi was into. With the way that Hudson was, he would have still made the same comment with Andre in his presence, despite knowing that it was a sensitive topic, and despite actually caring about Andre's feelings. It was just how Hudson was - if he got enjoyment out of it, he was going to do it regardless of who it bothered, hurt, or made uncomfortable. Besides, he liked pushing Naomi's buttons, no matter how brazenly he was acting.

"I think any color is your color in a dress like that." Andre replies, taking a good long look at Xanthe as she heaves his arm from her shoulder. She still pecks him on the cheek for the compliment and grabs a hold of her hand, wary of her sisters and the opinions they may have on her relationship with Andre. She must have known he'd start thinking of a certain Alpha sister in particular, so she asks him how the prospects are going. "The boys are coming in flocks, plenty of legacies to choose from. There's no question on who's getting the best pledges this year." Andre winks at Xanthe, following her almost dutifully when she starts leading him around the carnival. They stopped at the Zeta table, only for Xanthe to express her distaste towards Lorraine, and then walk off.

Andre has nothing against Lorraine, they're actually party buddies most of the time, but he couldn't go against Xanthe. That woman is not someone you want to make unhappy. Plus, Andre wants to keep her happy anyway, because she's his Zanny.

Andre considers just taking them both back to the Beta booth, but once he looks over and sees Naomi walking towards the table, he reconsiders. Seeing Naomi right now would just dampen his good mood. There much else to do at the Carnival, considering the row of Greek booths dominate the activity. Sooner or later, he'll have to show back up at the Beta booth, and Naomi's either going to be there or right across the way at the Alpha booth. "As much as I love you playing hooky with me, minha beleza ruiva, I think I should take you back to the Alphas before Jade scolds me." my reheaded beauty. They make a small circle around the carnival before ending up in the middle of the two booths.

"-I think you know Princess's tastes better than most of us, so you pick what you think's going to excite her the most." Andre catches the end of Hudson's conversation, and is already formulating a comment when he realizes just who Hudson is talking to. Between his dinners with Xanthe, soccer with Jade, and... fun with Kat, he's manage to avoid Naomi for the whole semester so far. Even at parties, she just seemed to always be somewhere else. Realizing what Hudson's talking about, his heart tells him to stand up for Naomi, because no one should talk to her like that, not even Andre's best friend. But he can't, because when they make eye contact, he can feel his eyes getting hot. He hates himself for still getting worked up at the sight of her. He has to find a way out, a way not to look like a heartbroken idiot in front of his brothers. Valentine, the brother who can't get over a relationship that ended almost two years ago.

"Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she'll conquer the world."

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

As they approached the Beta and Alpha tables something in Andre's demeanor changed. She glanced over to see what caused it and saw Naomi hanging out the Beta table. She knew that Andre and Naomi did a pretty good job of avoiding each other. She also knew that Andre might go on a girl binge after seeing Naomi and that hurt a little. But she loved the both of them so she knew it was her duty as his best friend and as her sister to stand by them.

She squeezed the hand that was still holding her own, and smiled up at him,"I know this is tough honey but it's going to be okay." She led him back over to the Betas table, careful to keep a smile on her face as she approached them. Keep your head, heels, and expectations high, that's what her nanny Lacey used to say. She kept that in mind as they approached the Alpha table. She wasn't nervous for herself really, it was mainly him. Yeah they were holding hands but she also had a bad habit of climbing into people's laps when she was tipsy. Not just males like Hudson, Kienen, and Andre, but females as well like Naomi, Kat, and Jade. But honestly she just was a toucher and she's also done that sober.

She approached Naomi first, letting go of Andre and going for a hug, before kissing Hudson and Kienen on the cheek, "I would love to chat but I've strayed from the Alpha booth long enough." She said with a wink. She pointed to Kienen and Andre, "I demand to be won a stuffed animal at the carnival tonight!" She added playfully before sauntering off to the Alpha table.

When she came back to the table she approached Kat from behind and pulled her into a hug, "I'm back" She said in a sing song voice. She let go and moved so she was leaning on the table in front of Kat and Jade. She smiled at the girls and tossed her hair over her shoulder. It was getting hot and soon she was going to need a hair tie to get all of that hair off of her. She recently cut her hair to her chest but originally it was hanging down her back. She thought that cutting it would help with the heat but it was still thick as ever and even more annoying because it kept slipping back onto her shoulder. "So what are we gonna do about Tatiana. I swear I'm not trying to be mean but... c'mon she wore leggings to this. The other day she went to brunch in sweats like we went to Denny's or something. We are Alpha's, I don't mean to be mean but you can't do that. " She huffed, getting herself a bit worked up, "If she can't lose the weight she needs to buy new clothes."

As soon as Hudson finished his drink of water, Naomi had to prepare herself. Obviously, because she could tell by the mischeivous glint in his eyes that Hudson was gunning for her and it made Naomi fold her arms over her chest. She leaned her weight on her left leg, her left hip jutting out slightly as she took what Hudson had to dish out...which was, well it was a cute little dig. They were being tame apparently. Real cute, Allen, she thought but did not vocalize, head nodding absently as the Betas let out their respective "ooooohs" at their president's insult. But of course, she didn't have to wait long for him to make more to say because in typical Hudson fashion - and paying homage to the moniker she initially regarded him with - he continued.

This time, his commentary made her eyebrow raise in slightly contempt, a nervousness settling in the pit of her stomach. Andre was close enough, too close. Xanthe had came over and hugged her, which Naomi only returned half-heartedly in her disbelief at Hudson mentioning the one thing she had not even talked with the girls about. Especially when Andre was so near. It was never her intention for him to find out what happened between herself and him. The him in question received a small glare at that point, though Naomi made sure to return her gaze to Hudson soon after. Last she had checked, she had been pretty adamant with the other Beta that she didn't want their little mistakes to get out. But she should have known better - she did know better. Hudson, just like herself, was privy to information others would not know about until the situation had already blown over. She was foolish. As usual. The truth of the matter, however, was that Naomi was not about to cow. Even if her cheeks still felt heated with the shame of her past entanglements and the boys were a bit riled up by Hudson's nosy knowings, Naomi wasn't one to just back down to him and after a beat, a smirk formed on her face. She slid out from underneath Tristan's arm, who backed up knowingly, so that she could step further in Hudson's face. "For one, baby, if I would have left the boat selection to the Allens, I actually wouldn't be surprised that you would manage to find decent accommodations for our event. Mediocre, at best, much like your Dad's net worth," she heard Tristan and a few of the guys hiss out a collective "Shit!" that gave her enough pause to smile before continuing, "but I'm sure it would've sufficed just enough to prove why the Betas have always and will always come second place to the incomparable legacy of the Alphas. And the Ellisons, but...that's just me digging salt in the wound, right? Then again, knowing the many skanks you've dipped, flipped and tricked to stay relevant, I wouldn't be surprised if you did make the time to know all about boat selections. You Allens know all about compensating, don't you?" In that last leg of her first insult, Naomi had taken a small moment to eye Hudson surreptitiously, teasing, and with the faintest hint of trying to size him up as if she had not already done so before. Naomi allowed herself to giggle then and winked at the Betas who felt just a tad insulted, though they knew she was only being playful. Besides, she felt entitled to get back at Hudson for that small dig and the boys were more amused by the show than anything else. Not many people could say they could get one on Hudson Allen, shade extraordinaire.

Naomi hummed thoughtfully, taking just a second to level Kienen with a cold stare before grinning. "I'll leave you gentleman to your meat since that's about the only thing I think we all know you can handle best," she began, a note of sincere belief in her own statement in her voice, and Tristan was the first to indignantly cry "Hey, now!" which made her laugh softly. "But please, do come by the Alpha tent soon, Allen. I'd offer you some Nobu, but I'm pretty sure neither of us want a repeat of that crab infestation you had going for you some time ago?" She turned her eyes coldly upon Kienen, "Or was it you, Fox?" There was a notable difference in her tonality when addressing her drunken blunder: her voice was nothing short of steel and she didn't bother trying to hide her contempt. However, as quickly as the wind could sweep through, Naomi clunked herself on the head softly, taking on somber and apologetic tone. "My bad. It always escapes me which one of you has caught another STD. See ya, babes!" Just a bit satisfied, Naomi turned only to meet Andre's gaze.

Her breath stuttered in her chest because obviously, Naomi was seventeen again and Andre's eyes made her stomach flutter like it did on their very first date. But you ruined that, didn't you, some bitter part of her snapped and Naomi was a bit grateful that she was distracted enough by Hudson and the others to not have seen the display of affection Xanthe probably showered Andre with before walking away. It would have been too much - it would have hurt too much. So, she did exactly what she did when she had decided to break up with him - the guilt and hurt in her eyes hardened until he was nothing more than another Beta to her and all she uttered for him was a brief "Hey, Valentine" before stalking across the way to the Alpha tent.

By the time Naomi made it back to the girls, her favorite three were all together and it brought a much more relaxed smile from her, even her shoulders released the tension she had felt mounting within her being in Andre's presence. It was ridiculous that one person could still have that much power - that he held so much power and didn't even know it - and it made it harder for her to breathe. Her anxiety was rising and the coffee still in her hand was cold now, so she set it on one of their tables. "Hey, babies!" She greeted, quick to embrace Katherine fiercely and give as convincing of a smile to Jade as she could since she was the only one between the other two to be able to read her lies. And she should have been better at being nice to Xanthe since the poor girl did nothing wrong, but Naomi's hackles were still risen, Andre's face was still fresh on her mind, and Hudson calling her out was still ringing in her ears. "And if you're going to another lovers' stroll, perhaps after your responsibilities for the day are over, ok babe?" It was unfair and not right, and Naomi was going to feel horrible later but her smugness overpowered any guilt she could have possibly felt for unnecessarily snapping at Zan. Naomi didn't wait for a response and she knew she was being catty, but she couldn't help herself at the moment. She needed control and the best way to do that was distract herself with the freshman that came over. "Welcome to the Alpha Theta Pi tent. I'm Naya..."

Hudson allowed Naomi her moment to shine, and didn't interrupt as she laid in to him, but his smirk grew throughout her playful tirade, despite it barely being noticeable. Naomi was something special, that was for sure, and no matter how low she wanted to get with the digs, they never did much to personally hurt Hudson. Maybe his ego was just that big, that not much could really get to him anymore. Regardless, he got more pleasure than anger out of all of his "altercations" with Naomi, and a lot of it was because he felt a level of sexual tension present. It wasn't something that was strong enough that either of them would probably ever act on it, and that was especially true for Hudson, who valued his friendship enough with Andre to know that he couldn't do that to him. Even if he could convince himself that Naomi would be as easy as he thought. His smirk remained present for the entirety of Naomi's commentary, and though he didn't give in to the sneers of the guys behind him, he did shake his head, in mock disappointment, as Naomi left their booth without offering him a chance at rebuttal. Typical, she's always had more of a "flight" than "fight" instinct. He turned back to the other Betas then, and though his smirk was still adamant, he tried to sound more serious. "All right, all right, she's gone. Let her have her fun, but we all know that if one of us had an STD, Princess would be the first one to know, since she's banged about half of this house. On a brighter note, though, boys; dig in. I don't want this steak going to waste" The retort came once Naomi was already gone, and it was probably better that way, since it wasn't completely true, but Hudson knew that it might have resonated enough in her to piss her off.

He picked up his plate and a full carryout box, and headed towards the front of the tent where Xanthe had left Andre. Although he had taken a moment to briefly greet Xanthe when she quickly left him with a departing kiss to the cheek, he hadn't had a chance to acknowledge Andre since then. Shoving the box into the Beta's hands, he gave him an inquisitive look. "You dog. Don't tell me that you've got both of Naya's most prized sophomores wrapped around your finger. I'll give it to you, Valentine -- you really know how to play the game, and that, my friend, is worth drinking to. I won't let you live it down if you don't bring one of the two, or both, back to the house tonight. We'll bring out our best bottle of champagne and toast to the sweet taste of revenge." Hudson knew that apparently, Andre's friendship with Xanthe was somewhat genuine, and that his hookup with Katherine had been unplanned and unexpected, but still, he felt like behind the layers of sheer attraction, Andre had to be plotting something. At the very least, it was a very pleasant coincidence that he ended up scoring with two of the girls that Naomi was closest with. If there was any good way to get back at someone for breaking your heart, it was to show them that you could and would move on, and with their best friends.

"Filho da puta..." Son of a bitch...

Hudson's words register in his head, and he shoves the to-go box, no matter how tempting, back into Hudson's hands. Andre storms out of the Beta tent, feigning anger so none of his brothers will realize he's actually about to cry. He brushes his palms against his eyes in frustration. Crying is for the weak, that's what his father always told him. Even at Jordan's funeral, he couldn't let his father see him cry. Andre can feel his cheeks heating up, and the familiar feeling of embarrassment he experienced often as a kid. No one was friends with the shy "Mexican" kid. This is a feeling he hasn't felt in a while, and Naomi brushing him off like that, calling him by his damn nickname, it hurt. But even worse, being with Kat and his little thing with Xanthe, it would look to Naomi that he was purposefully trying to hurt her.

Kat
1:07 PM
hey are you busy? it's okay if you are but i just really need you right now.

Right now, Andre doesn't need to yell at his ex-girlfriend or talk to Zanny about feelings. Right now he needs a girl who wants to kiss him. And the only girl he really wants right now is Kat. That night in Manhattan, she doesn't remember any of it. But he remembers walking her out to her Uber, both too drunk to really stand up properly. He remembers getting in her Uber and making out the entire way home. And he remembers being in his bed at the hotel the next morning.

He pulls out his pack at Menthols from his shirt pocket and lights one once he gets far enough away from the carnival. Smoking was also a nice stress reliever, other than sex. He takes one deep inhale and lets it go, relishing the nicotine in his throat, before he starts flicking the ring on his middle finger. His grandfather's, a Rocha family heirloom. His grandfather used to tell him it was worn by princes, pirates, politicans, and Andre Rocha, who would be the best soccer player that ever lived. He died before Andre gave up on that dream, two years before he would lose Jordan too.

Andre takes the short walk through campus to greek row, and stops short at the Alpha Theta Pi house. He assumes that Kat would be going there, considering she probably skipped class to be at the carnival. He should hang out on the porch, but he jogs over to the Beta Gamma Omega house just across the way, sitting on his own porch and smoking his cigarette.

Zan, after having a good cry, had gotten herself together. The first thing she did was pick up the broken frames and scoop them into a dustpan to be disposed of when she got back. She walked over to the mirror and and gazed at herself. She looked... sad and it kind of annoyed her. It wasn't the first time a man had let her down and it wouldn't be the last but it would be the last time she gave a guy that everybody told her was no good a chance.

She got her supplies to make her a sexy storm of anger and hurt and got to work. First she blew out her hair and curled the ends so it framed her face nicely. She skipped all the makeup and instead went for mascara and cherry lip balm. She slipped on some sexy expensive lingerie and pulled on a strapless blue top with white jeans that hugged her shapely behind more than some of her slinky dresses. On her feet she slipped on black heels and she wore a choker around her neck that was tied into a bow at the front. She sent a text out as she got her things together.

To: Naomi, Jade
We need to talk NOW

To: Hudson
I know you know. Who else does?

She slipped out of the door only to be met by Andre at the door. Part of her wanted to scream at him and hit him and part of her wanted to sob and have him hold her until the pain was gone but, besides the flash of hurt that appeared in her chocolate eyes when he called her stunning, she hid it well. All her life she had been the pretty one. The girl you want to keep on your arm. She wanted him to be different so bad.

She heard him talking but it was like she was drowning and everything was muffled. He took her hand and she let him and it felt so good then that she almost felt like she could ignore the fact that he was in love with Naomi; the fact that he hooked up with her best friend; the fact that everybody would know; the fact that he would never love her like he loved naomi; the fact that she would be humiliated, again.

"You mean a lot to me, Zan, in more ways than one. I want..." Her eyes flashed to his face, searching for something, anything to say that he was going to tell her the truth. But it wasn't there. "...to prove to you that I can be loyal, so we can start something here, something real. I'm going to stop sleeping with other girls, and I'm only focusing on you, Xanthe. I want to make this work, I want to make us work."

Her breath caught in her throat and she felt like somebody had physically hit her, it hurt so bad. She smiled sadly, She leaned in and kissed him gently on the lips, call it a parting gift. "I waited so long to hear that." She said before sliding her hand out of his, "But did you decide this after you hooked up with Kat or after you lied to me all summer?" She stood up and slid her purse of her arm , "Or maybe you decided this when you saw Naomi and realized you still loved her. So what am I your second pick? You can't have the queen so why not take the princess? That's what you love to call me right?"

Hudson could only shake his head and watch as Andre stormed off, but his smirk didn't falter, even slightly, when the box of takeout was shoved back into his arms. "Someone forgot to tell me that it was Valentine's 'time of the month'," Hudson scoffed playfully, as he turned back to the rest of the guys in the booth. Most of the bags from Red's were empty now, with guys finishing up at their respective tables. With a long glance to his left, he noticed that the Zeta and Sigma tents were slowly being shut down, and though Naomi was still manning hers, in a way that instantly brought a smile to Hudson's face, he figured that it would be time for the Betas to call it a day sooner than later, too. He acted unfazed by the heat, but wearing a suit outside in Miami for longer than necessary would become unbearable to anyone, and Hudson was no exception. Andre running off like a thirteen-year-old melodramatic girl who had just been told that there was no chance of Justin Bieber marrying her had put a damper on his mood too, though again, he didn't let it show. He knew that Andre invested himself into things that just weren't worth it, and that was fine, because everyone had their flaws, and his thing with Naomi was somewhat understandable. Somewhat in terms of Naomi being someone who even he would find to be hard to get over, but somewhat not when considering how long ago the pair had broken up, and how that whole breakup had went down. So yes, Hudson sympathized for Andre's situation more than he showed, but at the same time, he didn't feel guilty about being brash about it at this point. If the wounds had not healed already, they never were going to, and Andre was going to have to live with it without throwing an immature bitch fit every time Naomi came around.

"All right, Betas. We did good today, now let's get out of here. Any freshman who shows up this late isn't worth our time, anyway. Davenport, make sure that any tables and chairs we borrowed from the SGA find their way back to them. O'Reilly, deliver any extra steak to the Physics department's teacher lounge with a verbal notice that these are gifts from the Betas. I've got a class with Professor Bush this semester that I need to ace. Russo, oversee that there's not a single piece of trash left behind once everything's gone, and Carter, Jackson and Peterson, you take care of bringing anything else back to the house. The rest of you boys can go back to the house now. I was thinking that our pregame tonight would be Betas only, but since Andre's clearly acting like an Alpha today, maybe I'll invite a couple of them over, if I feel like bestowing them with the gift of our company."

Hudson was ready to leave as well, but he wasn't a bad President. He wasn't just going to stand there and look pretty, and he also wasn't going to leave and start his pregaming like he wanted to do. Instead, he began to help to dissemble their tent and hand off things to the other guys, to either be carried back to the house, or returned to the school, if it had been borrowed. With that many guys working on it, it didn't take long for the space that once held their booth to be spotless, and about twenty minutes after their cleanup process began, it was over. As he left the lawn with the last of the boys, he was tempted to leave Naomi with a parting remark, but after their back-and-forth earlier, he decided against it, in favor of recharging enough that he'd have something good for her later that night.

He had taken the extra Fulton University shirts that he had purchased from the bookstore, and was headed to Professor McAdams' office, who headed the community outreach club, in order to offer them to her as something the club could donate to the homeless on their next outing. On his way there, he received a text from Xanthe that caused him to raise an eyebrow. You wouldn't expect it from her sweet demeanor, but Xanthe could be a fiery little one. He wondered what her text was about, but genuinely had no idea, so he answered, and sticking to his famous "stir the pot" personality, he screenshotted it, and sent it to Naomi, along with some text.

To: Xanthe
Considering that I know everything, you're going to need to be a little bit more specific there, Little Red.

To: Naomi
And you think that I'm crazy for saying that your girls are obsessed with me, hmm?

Naomi was panting when she officially pulled away from Lex, the need for air much more intense and harder to ignore than it had been some minutes before. Not that it mattered much because Naya could seriously dive back in and who the hell would blame her? Lex's mouth was sticky sweet and warm, the rich bitterness from the coffee Naomi managed to fetch still on the girl's tongue. Naomi hadn't hesitated in parting from her sisters with orders barked out to each individual before going about her own way. First, it was back to her car for the bag of clothes she had brought out of her sorority house in case she ended up - like she still planned to do - getting ready with Chantal. Then, to get the coffee for her very secret person and then here, where the only thing separating herself and Lex were the clothes Naomi really just wanted off, but that was just her being needy and impatient at the moment.

Breath still coming out quicker than normal due to their intense make-out, Naomi sat up from the girl lying in the bed, knees on either side of the Theta as she straddled her. A grin curved her lips lazily as she noted the disheveled hair fanning out on one of the pillows. She took in slightly darkened eyes that stared back at her, hot lust melting through the icy blue she was used to. She could see a small patch of pale skin from Lex's neck blooming a bruise and the self-satisfaction that thrummed through her riveted Naomi to her core, even as she faintly remembered that she wasn't supposed to leave any marks. "Told you I'd make it worth your while," she smugly exclaimed, running a hand through her own tousled hair while the other hand reached over to grab her incessantly vibrating phone.

Lex grinned up at Naomi, still panting a little. "Don't recall saying it wouldn't be," she replied. She knew that she should probably check her own phone- but honestly, she was enjoying her view. These moments were rare enough, so it was generally worth enjoying them while they lasted. It was only then that she became aware of the faint aching in her neck, and her hand immediately went to it. "Oh my god, you bitch," she said, genuinely shocked for a minute. But as she stared up at Naya, she was completely unable to stop herself from grinning again. "I am actually going to kill you one of these days, I swear to god," she sighed, running both hands down her face, but still grinning as she pulled them away. Naomi managed a distracted, but very pleased with herself smile, over her phone. She knew she would need to meet with Chantal soon; neither she or her fellow president liked being kept waiting for too long. But Hudson's text, followed by Xanthe's, were enough to keep her from giving all of her fucks to the wind in favor of being further distracted by the brunette underneath her. Or, at least she thought they were enough of a distraction until Lex's indignant cry.

"Hmmmm," Naya hummed thoughtfully, typing out a quick response to Hudson and point blankly ignoring Xanthe's demand for attention in favor of setting her phone aside. "But are you really complaining right now?" She held herself up, just for a moment, so that Lex could sit up more, and then comfortably settled on the girl's lap. She couldn't help the softer smile, the one that made her entire body relax, that formed on her face when Lex played with a curl that stubbornly refused to stay straightened. "You know, I really should get my revenge," the Theta commented idly. Naya's smile just made Lex's own smile widen. She knew that she was probably needed somewhere else, that she should probably be someone else- but damn, she knew that she didn't want to go. She knew in her heart of hearts that this wouldn't end well, that it was a messy situation- but she'd never liked anything to be simple, had she?

To: Hudson
keep me posted, if u can

Naomi knew that, for one, she shouldn't be here. The only Beta she had allowed herself to lay hands on was Kienen and that had been a bad idea, but this wasn't any better. This was more complicated, more trouble for herself and just plain more - a lot more than the travesty of her and other people. But two, she and Lex shouldn't be this damn comfortable and here they were. "Revenge away," she purred, her smile growing into a Cheshire grin and eyes glinting with a hint of a challenge. "But fair warning, I'm a really competitive bitch and this here...this is you declaring war and I don't care how distracting your hands are...I don't play fair." Lucky for her, Lex didn't always play fair either when they were like this and there was always a tried and true method in shutting Naomi's babbling. "You know me so well," Lex replied. "I never could resist a challenge," she added, before leaning in and kissing Naya again, pressing herself against the other girl. Her hands moved to Naya's hips, pulling her closer. Kissing Naya was like a drug - one that gave the best highs, that was stupidly addictive, that you didn't realize you were craving until you gave in. The withdrawals probably wouldn't be fun - but it was hard to focus on that right now. All she could think about was how she wished that time wasn't their limiting factor, how she wished she could just stop time right there and then and just stay in the moment of peace and happiness for hours.

Naomi giggled out a breathless moan against Lex's lips when the brunette surged up to kiss her, arms twining around the other's neck and fingers digging into soft dark brown strands to press her head forward, giving Naomi just the right leverage - and Lex aided in shifting Naomi's body even closer - to dominate the kiss, at least for now. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly given how well one knew her, she didn't always demand control in this aspect of her relationships. Much more fun this way. Plus, she liked challenging Lex in this arena, like when she would tug the other girl's luscious lower lip with her teeth slowly. Always a great response to that. So great of a response - thrilling too - that any of her wrong-no-stop faithfully turned into yes-God-more. Naya's immediate response to the kiss was enough to take some of her breath away, It was a stimulant like no other, making Lex almost hyper-aware of the energy in her nerves and of exactly how alive she was. Her body and mind were perfectly in sync, crying out for more, more, more. Naya's teeth on Lex's lower lip only increased the sensation, and Lex moaned a little as she did so. She broke away as Naya's phone vibrated, but moved to the other girl's neck, her lips skimming the gorgeous bronzed skin there. "Someone's in demand," she murmured playfully. "Then again, I expected nothing less from Madam President," she added, before kissing her neck properly. Naomi's rolled her eyes, breathing out a sigh - partly out of pleasure, but definitely out of frustration, as she retrieved her phone again, this time to see a message from Jade. She giggled out another sigh at the sucking pressure Lex applied to her skin.

"For a second there, I almost thought that sounded like respect, Pearson," she replied playfully, allowing herself to smirk as she rolled off of the brunette. As much as she would have rather continued what she was doing, she knew Chantal would kill her if she was dissed just for Naomi to have a little fun with one of her own. What she definitely knew was that she was not dealing with Xanthe and whatever the girl wanted from her. Not without alcohol in her system. Which was the reason why she messaged the two Alphas and then Chantal. "As much as I would rather be doing this because this is soooooo much more fun, not to mention pleasurable for the both of us, I apparently have to be a good friend," she stated and slid off of the bed. She wasn't leaving the Theta house, so she didn't bother to slide her sandals back on. Instead, she picked them and her bag up, glancing over her shoulder at Lex with a teasing glint in her eyes. "I would say try not to miss me too much, but we both know that would be just a bit too difficult for you." She should have left it at that because, umm wrong move Naomi, but she couldn't feel too bad when she ended up leaning over to peck Lex on the lips one more time before securing all of her things and slipping out the girl's door, texting her people as she went downstairs. More people would have required tact and while what she had with Lex was supposed to be a secret, Naomi also didn't feel the need to sneak. She was usually here for Chantal anyway, and she was headed to the house's living room where she usually met the other president.

To: Zan, Jade

Zan jogged up the stairs to the Alpha house, stopping to wave at a few girls who were hanging out on the porch on her way in. She walked briskly to the kitchen and stored her leftovers in the fridge, leaning up against the counter to respond to texts she had received earlier the first one she noticed was from Hudson, the other was from Kat and she just couldn't deal with that. The rest ranged from fashion questions, requests for advice, and nagging texts from her family. She sent a text she knew she'd regret after that then she headed upstairs to Jade's room.

To: Hudson
About Andre and Kat? Their little summer hookup?

To: Andre
Do you have feelings for Kat too?

She did a quick knock but walked in before she got a response. "I'm going to ask you something and I need you to be totally honest with me." She said as she walked over to the chair resting by her desk. She sat down and crossed her legs, she was pissed but always poised, before she continued, "On my way back from the booth I overheard Andre and Kat talking. They didn't see me and Kat doesn't know because I only confronted Andre but.." She took a deep breath to prevent herself from getting emotional.

Zan was quick to cry and that wasn't really a big secret. She often tried to fight it because she hated getting caught looking vulnerable, as it was not in any Alpha's nature to let others see your flaws, but most of the time a few tears ended up spilling either way. "Andre and Kat hooked up and.. I feel like I was the only one who didn't know. For God's sake even Hudson knows. I feel like such an idiot. Then to make things worse he finally tells me that he wants to be with me."

She ran her hands through her hair in frustration, "I wanted to hear him say that for so long and he finally says it today?" She abruptly stood up, "And you know what the worst part is? Neither of them was going to tell me. I explicitly heard Kat say that it had to stay a secret. How could they do that? I talked to both of them everyday all summer, they could have told me at any time."

She knew that she left out the whole Andre loving Naomi thing but that was something she wasn't going to discuss. If Naomi was going to find out about that, it wouldn't be from her it would be from him. She could only assume from the way he was talking about how basically no girl compared to Naomi that he'd probably try to get back together with her. "Why does everyone think I'm so stupid. I know I can be a bitch sometimes but did I really deserve this? I would have been mad at first but, as long as it was a one time thing, I'd eventually move on from it."

"But they lied to me" She crossed her arms over her chest and bit her lip to stop crying. The last thing she wanted to do was cry some more. It was bad enough her nose and lips were red from crying, she wasn't going to cry any more for either of them.

Andres "Valentine" Rocha / senior nursing major
Image
Image
outfit / Beta House / drunk and pissed off

"You can't have the queen so why not take the princess?"

The smile he plastered onto his face drops the moment she lets out the first "but". Zan's words are like a knife in his chest. She knows everything. And he knows Zan well enough that, if she ever found out what he did, and how he still feels about Naomi, she would never give him a chance. It was a selfish idea, but he wanted her. And his heart wouldn't let him stop now. "Zan- wait I- No!" Andre pulls at her arm but she slips away from him. He had everything with Xanthe, and he had to ruin it. But right now, his distressed mind can only blame one person. It isn't Hudson, or Kat, or even Xanthe herself. No, he blamed Naomi, like he always did. And like he always did, he immediately looks for a way to forget.

Andre walks back over to the Beta house, trying not to cry, trying not to scream, trying not to do anything to make anyone believe that the great Valentine was defeated. He could lose himself in everything else, like he always did.

First, he needs booze. No, more than booze.

To: Hudson
What can you get from Parker? Nothing is off limits.

But booze would have to do for now. And he would have to find someone to sleep with. Andre was going to give it all up, for Xanthe, but there's no need for that now. He knows his best friend too well to hope for the better. He walks over to the kitchen, opening the door that led to the famous Beta Gamma Omega wine cellar. He had a locked freezer that had "Valentine" in bright, bold letters on the front which held all his alcohol; his good alcohol. If he was drunk enough, he would let Xanthe raid it for whatever she wanted. Hell, he'd done it sober too. He almost kissed her that day.

He immediately pulls some old rum from the back of the freezer and takes a big swig, relishing the burning in his mouth and the cough that scratches up his throat, begging to bring up whatever just came down. He did that two more times before he could even look at the text he got from Xanthe. Unbelievable. If she had let him explain, she would have understood that he didn't have feelings for Kat. Andre's a flirt by nature, and he's never kissed or done anything with Kat without the influence of alcohol. And the Naomi thing…

To: Zanny
Obviously fucking not.

Andre only texts people like this when he's drunk, especially someone he's so close with. A few more swigs of the rum and the fermented drink has him almost to the point of swaying. He locks the freezer up and grabs a beer from the fridge in the kitchen, going out onto the back porch and brooding there.

Zan bit her lip as she got borderline scolded by Jade. She was listening to what she had to say and she appreciated Jade's honesty but at the moment it was the last thing that she wanted to hear. She was pouting and licking her wounds and it was childish.

She nodded when Jade said she was going to deal with it for her and she was especially appreciative for it. "That would probably be best."

She was going to head out when Tamara walked in, well barged into, Jade's room. Jade gave her a look and she immediately composed herself. That was one thing she really liked about her and Jade's relationship. They had an almost telepathic bond that allowed her to fall in line when she went too far or when the time was right. Naomi was on Tamara's heels and it was obvious by the way that she was acting that she didn't want to be there. In fact she actively avoided Zan's eyes and that made Zan a bit uneasy. Her phone buzzed in her pocket and she inhaled sharply when she saw the message was from Andre. She knew almost instantly he was drunk just by the way he responded and she frowned at the thought.

To: Andre
Are you drunk? I'm so mad at you but I'm still here if you need me. As usual.

It was true that she wasn't closest to Naomi but they were very similar which made it really easy for them to read each other. It was true when she told Andre that she was the princess to Naomi's queen. It was one of the reasons she never minded being called Naomi's little prodigee, or the red headed Naomi, or even mini Naomi. Those were titles she never minded having because it wouldn't be terrible being the next Naomi.

She shrugged at Tamara and Jade, "I should get going soon too. The carnival will start soon and I'm not even wearing makeup. Which I obviously need today" She added pointing to her face. Her nose was still red, her eyes were kind of puffy, and her lips were plumper than they already were usually and they were.

She hugged Tammy on the way out and smiled at her weakly, "Babe, you have to tell me about your trip later." She was about to leave when Kat walked in and just for a second time kind of stopped. She clamped her mouth shut and glanced at Jade apologetically before murmuring, "I have to go", and briskly exiting.

When she got back to her room she applied concealer to her the red blotchy parts of her face and mascara to her eyelashes. She had really long ones so she never wore fake ones but she did apply a lot of mascara to thicken them. She added highlighter at the top of her cheekbones before sitting on her bed and pulling out her phone again.

To: Cam
Jade didn't know but she's talking to Naomi for me

Does Naomi know?

"Professor McAdams, really, it's no big deal," Hudson continued as she led him out of her office. The shirt donation had went better than he expected, especially since his English teacher happened to be in the same office as Professor McAdams was in, and seemed impressed by his generosity, as well. "My Beta brothers and I are ready and willing to help whenever you need us, and donating these shirts to your outreach program is the least we can do."

"Well, we'll definitely keep you in mind then, Hudson. If you and the boys are free next month, our community outreach team is going to head out to the city's streets one night to distribute clothes and food to the city's homeless population. We could always use so extra muscle to help us carry the donations around."

"Just give us the date and the time and we'll be there," Hudson smiled, and though in the back of his mind, he was rolling his eyes at the idea of being guilted into volunteering to help the homeless, his charm had clearly won him some points in the Professor's book, and she continued to thank him until he eventually left her office.

It was only when Hudson was back outside that he retrieved his phone from his pocket, to see that Xanthe had texted him twice, Naomi once, Andre once, and a couple of his Beta boys had sent him a few as well, letting him know that they were starting to pregame. The Betas received answers first... because that was just how it went. He sent them his approval for inviting over some girls and cracking open the liquor early. Betas weren't like Sigmas, but that didn't mean that they didn't know how to have fun. The only difference, really, was that the Betas did it with class. After he answered his boys, he responded to Andre, who was a Beta too, but fell into a category of his own today.

To: Andre
Idk if he sells Midol, man. Maybe go to CVS for that.

Hudson knew that he was being a jerk by furthering the joke that Andre was acting like a PMSing woman, but he couldn't help it. He was cheeky when he needed to be, and Andre playing the bitch card during their senior year wasn't going to fly. He either had to get over Naomi or fuck her, but crying whenever she came around wasn't going to work with Hudson. It wasn't like Hudson didn't suspect that something was off, by Andre's text, though. When had Andre ever actually wanted to do more than drink? Hudson couldn't think of a time, and that alone, was a bit perplexing, but again, he just blamed it on Andre being dramatic. He was sure that if he got something from Parker, Andre would back out last minute anyway, so Hudson resisted texting the Sigma. He used Parker for marijuana, and cocaine on the rare occasion. Maybe some Adderall now and again. He wasn't addicted to any sort of drug, so it was only on a whim, when he wanted it. Other than that, he had no reason to speak with the Sigma, so he wasn't eager to reach out to him.

To: Naomi
Your little got with Valentine over the summer when we were at 1Oak. It was no big deal, just some fun induced by the rich man's drug ;) or else I would have let you in on the secret earlier. With how that night went and how gone your girl was, I thought the secret would die with her that night, tbh. Now you know, so don't say I never did anything for you, Ellison.

In the moment, he opted not to answer Xanthe's text. There was no extreme reason behind it, but more than anything, he figured that he owed Naomi an answer, and no one else. Hell, he didn't even owe Naomi an answer, but behind their rivalry was some sort of friendship... whether either would actually call it that, or not. Xanthe, however, was just a sophomore. She was a nice sophomore (in looks and personality), and Hudson thought of her as a friend, but she wasn't someone that he had to report to, with anything. He wasn't trying to be mean or even prove a point, but sometimes relishing in the power of being able to go ghost mode, without any consequences, was nice. For no other reason than "because I can".

Neither of the texts Andre received put him in a better mood. Hudson is being a bastard, as always, but calling out Andre on his emotions is what Hudson does best. He's Andre's wake-up call when he lets his guard down. Still, he wouldn't give Hudson the satisfaction of being right or calling him a bitch. And Xanthe… she was still exemplifying why he liked her so much, and it irritated him so badly. He couldn't even be mad at her, and he didn't have any right to. He really didn't have a right to be mad at anybody except himself, but he wasn't ready to blame himself for this mess.

To: Hudson
Fuck you Allen.

To: Zanny
I don't need your help.

There is one person he could get something from, but he'd never talked to her sober. At least, not as much as he does drunk. But, today is a day he wants to forget, and with the persuasion of the rum in his stomach, he decides to text her anyway. Somehow, through one of their drunken conversations, he got her number.

To: Lorraine Callaway
Do you have anything? Loud, molly, I don't give a fuck. I'll pay whatever. I know your little keeps a stash and will give for a price.

He knew that, if Lorraine didn't have any, Camille Roux certainly would. She came around sometimes when Andre and Zan would hang out, and Andre remembers the night she lost her bid to Alpha because of Hudson. They're more acquaintances than anything, and if Zan knew she supplied to Andre, Cam would be in trouble too. But there lies the problem: Andre doesn't give a fuck who Zan's mad at at this point.

And in all honesty, he could probably raid a stash from one of the younger Beta brothers, but he didn't feel like leaving one of his brothers empty-handed for pre-game tonight. Andre made a deal with himself: he would get so shit-faced that no one would matter except the pretty girl that made it up to bed with him tonight. That involves three things: more booze, whatever drug he could get his hands on, and finding a girl.

Andre brings out four more beers and starts chugging.

Naomi's narrow-eyed glare on Katherine didn't let up, even in the face of Katherine's wide-eyed fear. It would be enough to surprise the other senior Alphas in the house and those that had come before them. While Katherine was probably the most likely of the younger Alphas to receive chastising from the ones who had been around longer, Naomi rarely snapped at her unless the girl uttered something unnecessarily petty and mean, or unless she took her gossiping and speculating too far. Even when Katherine would try to get out of doing homework or going to class, the most Naya ever did was gently (and by gently, there was probably playful tones combating against tight grips the taller girl wouldn't escape) pull her back in the direction she needed to go or at least compromise. Others said that she was the girl's enabler; Naomi always believed that she was simply still allowing her to have free reign over her life with enough leniency to take on the big sister role she was given - without coming off as controlling. And that was hard for Naya. But she always managed it and she always tried to understand it. Bernard Arnault was a talented man, that much was true. But from the second they met, Naomi knew that he wasn't exactly that great of a father as he was a businessman, and so perhaps that was why Naomi excused Katherine most of the time. Why the slender brunette received a chastising, "Kit Kat," every other day as opposed to a sharper, maternal tone that one would get from Jade.

At the moment, however, Naomi was trying to remember all the reasons that she could not shake the common sense Katherine obviously lost somewhere on a New York nightclub's floor into the girl...at least, for her own self-preservation. Which totally wouldn't help, but it kept her from vocalizing her ire in such a way that she simply ended her friendship with the girl. And surprisingly enough, for Naya, it had nothing to do with Katherine having touched Andre, not like with Xanthe. Liar, her brain was quick to correct, and okay, so maybe there was that, but it was more. It was the fact that Andre touched Katherine. She could have learned to deal with his flirtationship with Xanthe and even possible actual relationship. Fine. Nothing a good glass of pinot noir couldn't have fixed, or at least made her more receptive towards. But he had went after her Little and that felt like more of a slight than anything and the fact that Kat really wanted to convince her that the two of them only kissed -

"And that's it? That's honestly what you're expecting me to believe," she demanded, voice still cold and equally as harsh as the warring feelings and turning gears in her head. She barely even waited for an actual answer before shaking her head, thinking better of herself and the situation. Let it be known that Naomi had some kind of restraint because while her hand shook in anger, it rose to cut the girl off before she could respond. Because again, what she could say could actually hurt Katherine and while Kat could mindlessly say and do shit, Naomi didn't want to. Not when her anger was geared towards a person who wasn't even in the vicinity for her to lash out on. "Vous ferez bien de rester loin de moi en ce moment, Katherine. Je suis sérieux." (You will do well to stay away from me right now, Katherine. I mean it.) Didn't bother reassuring her - like she always did - that nobody hated Katherine and how could they? But how could Naomi support anything right now? After...after this?

She didn't wait for Tamara or Jade to offer their sage advice or commentary, just turned on her heels without another glance at any of the girls and headed to her room. Luckily for Tamara, since she would've ignored the Spanish girl if she had tried waltzing in her room only to find it locked, Naomi didn't even touch the door nor the lock. Instead, she grabbed the first thing that she saw - a photo frame with her and a few Alpha sisters and hurled it against the nearest wall she could find. Because Andre made it fucking personal - there was no other way around this! He was still hurt by Naomi breaking up with him; he had to be. He was still angry and like the asshole that he was - the same asshole she actually defended when the Alphas laughed about how he was hoeing around after being dumped - he came after her Little. Forget about the fact that he obviously had a faux Little of hers wrapped around his fucking finger - no, he had to cut deeper and Naomi had every right to end him. It was the only logical course of action. She didn't even bother looking at the bottle of vodka anymore; she needed to be sober for the next few hours. Or at least, have a clear head. She might not want sobriety later in the evening. But she did reach for her phone, ignoring other inquiries about her outfit and the time she was leaving in favor of reaching out. She could have simply ignored Hudson, honestly could have. He wouldn't have even been in his feelings. That was just how they could be. At the same time, she wasn't...too angry to not acknowledge that at least he would have told her the truth.

Tuesday, October 4 || 6: 55 PM || Location: Fulton University Annual Carvinal || Weather: Sunset, still humid with light breezes

There was something about carnivals that brought out one's inner child. The whimsical surge of energy combined with various food stands packed with every sugary, fatty and downright delicious delicacy coating the sticky sweet air everyone breathed. Screams from passengers aboard rides echoed all around, little beeping noises from won games filled people's ears. The playful ambiance of such events welcomed couples holding hands, students and even families, all searching for a little bit of fun after a long day. Carnivals were places to have fun, to relive just a small piece of one's childhood. It was also a place where anything could go and perhaps, where certain rules no longer apply...

"Oh come on, Cunningham!" Naomi goaded, bending over to retrieve the white ball she missed in picking up from beside her Aquazurra sandal-clad feett. Once it was in her head, she quickly went back to the skeeball war she and Chantal had been in engaged in, playfully glancing over at the other woman before grinning. "Don't tell me that's the best you got." She laughed along with the overseer as they continued their rapid fire competition. The two had decided that the person would win the best three out of five. So far, they were neck and neck, which was as annoying as it was thrilling. It was a decent distraction, particularly after the day she had been having.

The truth was that, despite the fact that she was having fun with one of her best friends and even managed to get something on her stomach to give herself the much needed edge to get through the day without either passing out or killing someone, she wasn't actually calm. No, that was the point of finding games where she could expel as much energy and tension without actually finding Andre and punching him in his throat. Especially after his text. Naomi bristled at the thought and threw a ball just a little too hard, and it bounced off of the rim of the highest points she could have scored, which further made her upset. Who said she could tell him what to do anymore? Was he actually serious? How about the person who still could barely stand being in her presence for more than five seconds without storming off at some point? How about the person who text her continuously once they broke up because he wasn't ready to let go? How about - ?

Naomi scored two balls in the second highest point-giving hole and beamed. Andre pissed her off and she had really, really forced herself not to just dump all her things, find her way to wherever he was, and curse his ass to the fathomless pits of hell. She was impulsive enough to do it and literally hopped off her bed earlier with the desire to go after him. It wasn't until she had gotten another text from Chantal that she plopped down on the plush bed, took some breaths and then drank some water to clear her head. But that had not been enough to center her. Hell, playing carnival games with her bestie wasn't enough. It was just...satisfactory enough...at least until she felt less inclined to cut her ex. It came to a point that the game was over and, unsurprisingly considering her train of thoughts, Chantal won and Naomi playfully rolled her eyes as the Theta president picked out her prize. It was perfectly fine with Naomi. She had a pair of goofy sunglasses and a teddy bear to Chantal's first stuffed animal. They were bound to match up in terms of how many prizes they would win anyway.

"Look at you keeping up with me!" She cried dramatically and picked up her Angry Bird toy, and hugging it with one arm while her glasses fell on the top of her head. "Where to next? Or are you still feeling a little lush?"
