The color of ravens and naturally curly, Nomi's curls resemble tight corkscrews and, because of her natural hair remedies, and usually resemble a voluminous mesh of softness. However, she does have a tendency to straighten it, but never for long. She goes between softer curls, her natural curls, and occasionally straight and in up-dos depending on the day.

There are no notable scars on Naomi's body or even the beauty marks her mother has, much to Naomi's chagrin. She has the standard ear piercing some girls' families will force them to get from a young age and she surprised Nana with getting a belly button piercing. As of right now, she has no tattoos and does not plan on getting one.

It's easy to assume that Naomi is just a show off. In a sense, she kinda is. Only she can walk around campus wearing designer brands that most of the Fulton University students couldn't afford with manicures and pedicures that cost a lot more than the cheap ones you get at the corner nail salon downtown. She is an Alpha and a socialite, after all, and so the best of the best is going to be in her wardrobe. She never does not look good and her perfectionism extends even to her fashion. At the same time, it should be noted that she does know how to be casual and does so frequently. But of course, name brands make it impossible to note that.

✦ Always seems to smell like shea butter and vanilla, with just a hint of spice ✧ When angry, she goes from English to Bajan (a mixture of English and Barbadian dialect that not most English speakers understand) and back to English without even realizing it ✦ Very expressive and almost can never control her facial expressions ✧ Typically sleeps in over-sized shirts she's probably stolen from her male friends ✦ She has been diagnosed with a caffeine addiction and must have at least two cups a day in the largest size or else she will start having withdrawn. Headaches, fatigue, anxiety, a lot of irritability, a depressed mood, difficulty concentrating ✧ Dedicates an entire day, once a month, to her hair's moisture retention and only uses natural hair remedies ✦ Babbles and recognizes that she's babbling, even calls herself on it if she's nervous. Naomi can fill the void during a tense situation with simply talking, especially if you get her talking about algorithms or even movies and fashion. It's when she's saying nothing that there is a serious problem. ✧ Stress cleans. Yeah, the girl who will remind you that she can get someone to do it for her cleans profusely when there's a problem she is struggling to solve or can no longer stare at a computer.

G R E A T E S TXJ O Y S

Her number one greatest joy, even above music, is having her Nana. Her grandmother raised her when her father would not and Naomi feels undoubtedly grateful of that unconditional love. She loves spending time with the older woman, calling her every Sunday after church, and seeing her grandmother's face first whenever she gets on a plane ride back to California. ✦ Surprisingly enough, science and technology brings her joy, even more so than shopping. It's what she's most familiar with and in all honesty, despite her denial, it's the one thing that makes her feel connected to her father other than the blood they share. ✧ Spending time with friends because of regardless of their differences, her friends are her friends. She might be the neurotic control freak who hardly lets anyone ruffle her perfect feathers and always has to be doing something, but the one thing she has yet to truly deny is that she likes spending time with her friends, doing mindless things. It makes her feel accepted and it is only with them that she is her most pliable, complicit. ✦ Coffee, all day every day. She has a caffeine addiction, of course coffee is going to be a joy of hers and she has fallen in love with Cuban espresso. ✧Despite saying that she doesn't really have plans for kids, Naomi absolutely loves them! Which is why she's always volunteering with the science department to get little ones involved in the sciences and math.

G R E A T E S TXF E A R S

Being alone: Abandonment ✦ Still not being good enough ✧ Making enough of a bad mistake that she ends up losing someone's confidence in her or love ✦ The day her grandmother dies ✧ Becoming, in any way, the kind of parent her father has been ✦ Not being able: Asphyxiation ✧ Death

P E R S O N A L I T Y

If there is one person who probably has everyone fooled, it is Naomi Malone-Ellison. It is quite easy for everyone to think that she's a neurotic control freak whose probably on crack with the endless energy she seems to have coursing through her veins. Naomi is always on the move - or, to be more exact, she is always working. Always seeking to gain more knowledge and experience, always looking for more solutions and answers to problems. She is always trying to create something or fix something. Naomi is a highly intelligent young woman, a trait she shares with her father, along with a deep love for computer technologies and engineering. She is the type to see a project through, never faltering - even when it means losing out on sleep - and she seems to be able to remain her usually bubbly, amicable self. At least, amicable in the sense that her natural poise and charm sublimates her casual arrogance and occasional bouts of callous hedonism. It's safe to say that despite the fact that she seems to be able to enthrall people enough with her fearless charisma, she can also remind people how she might have become an Alpha. Outgoing and outspoken, Naomi is both an indomitable force and also a controlling one. She has to have control - it's her MO and despite what others might have to say about it, she does control very well. She can be quick on the draw when it comes to comeback and if you ask Naomi, she doesn't technically have to always have the last word, but it's preferred. It usually happens - she doesn't take responsibility for that. And she can be biting. As great as she is with being someone that people at least like on a surface level where she just seems like she's an energetic and really smart sweetheart who can probably gush over schematics but also shopping as well, she also has the capacity to hurt people, especially in defense of her feelings or someone she cares about. Naomi is brutal and can be cruel, and can seem self-serving and entirely cutthroat when she feels the need to be. At the same time, the problem is that she always feels like she needs to be.

Naomi can be a talker just as much as she is a doer, and the issue with her talking is that sometimes, she's not really saying anything. Not what she needs to, anyway. Especially when it comes to her feelings. After all, underlying the fact that this girl will have you thinking that she believes that she's the sweetest thing since ice cream, is a rather low and nonexistent self-worth that sometimes her friends can't see. And that's because Naomi is deceitful - a lot better than most would presume. It helps, when you are trying to read her, that she is expressive. The issue is that she has learned how to compartmentalize to the point that her poker face suddenly exacerbates her expressiveness. Meaning that just as she is swift with shutting a person down and probably cutting it deep for them, she is just as quick in hiding her own hurt. You might have caught the glimmer and you may even try to hold on to that - that one inkling of genuine emotion that Naomi allowed you to see for just a second - but she'll swallow it all down and it disappears as if it were never there in the first place. After years of neglect from her father and a mother that didn't even stay long enough to tell her she was unwanted, Naomi has learned to build up the seemingly arrogant hedonist and perfectionist that most people assume she is. Despite her intelligence and the fact that something like that should be acknowledged, Naomi makes sure that your attention is on the fact that she takes the Alphas to the spa at least once a week and is consistently on social media painting the picture that she is having the time of her life when, in reality, she would rather be with a small group watching movies and honestly, having the familial bond only her grandmother was able to give her. She spends money on people as a sign of affection because that's what she has learned, she seems to act without thinking (though that's debatable considering the fact that her mind moves rather quickly to the point that she has to rely on sticky notes to remember all the smaller details), and she has a long list of part-time boyfriends but nothing actually long-lasting.

Her greatest fear is being alone and yet, even though most assume that she's the easy to read book from a first glance, Naomi is the first person to push someone away. Why? Because she knows that she craves acceptance and affection, particularly because she was never granted it from her half-siblings and father, and she knows that she's possessive. She hates when it feels like she can be replaced and combined with that previously mentioned low sense of self-worth, she genuinely would believe that someone else would be better for the people she cares about. She would rather be the one to push you away and leave you with the memory of a good time, than be the one left behind because you discovered she wasn't good enough. So, she'll push you away - using whatever resources at her command - until you either give up or realize that she really isn't worth it. After all, her father made it clear that she wasn't good for anything other than science. So, she does her work like the good perfectionist that she is, all the while giving you the allusion that she's just another rich girl who blows all of Daddy's money. Larry Ellison does it, why shouldn't she? It's the only way they seem to be able to be on the same page, anyway.

In all honesty, much like going to a school that her father didn't get accepted into, pledging wasn't a thing Naomi came and said she would do. She actually had no intention of doing anything other than her induction into honor societies. She was first approached by the Thetas and would've joined them had it not seemed that, for a second, her Dad was interested in her involvement with the Alphas. Since his first wife was an actual member. So, what did Naomi do? She pledged. He didn't attend her probate or anything like that, but it had been enough, then, to say she had his attention. It helped that she ended up making a few good friends.

F U T U R EXP L A N S ?

Despite being one of the youngest of the billionaire, Larry Ellison's entourage of children, Naomi is the main one who wants to get her father's company, Oracle, back under the family name. At the time, he had selfishly given it away and while the family has majority shares and still sits on he executive board, Naomi wants it under her belt. So, she's planning on going to MIT immediately after graduating from Fulton while working with the company since she was assured a role. She wants to expand and build upon the foundation her father has already set in place, and further the economic success of the Ellison family. Secretly, she wants to build a love for science and mathematics in young girls in Barbados and start a scholarship for girls from developing countries who want to study math and science, and start an internship program with Oracle for women of color since there isn't one currently.

The only children the public is most familiar with are David and Megan Ellison, which is no fault of Naomi's (though, if you asked her and she was drunk or tired enough to say it, she would blame herself), and the only reason that is the case is because, well, papa was a rolling stone and was really good at keeping his affairs a secret. Which, when you think of how flashy Ellison is and how much he revels in letting people see the splendor and decadence of his lifestyle, is just a bit discombobulating. Either way, from what has already been described, it's safe to say that Naomi was a result of the many reasons why Larry Ellison, co-founder and former CEO of Oracle Corporations, could not get any of his four former wives to stay with him. It helped his case when the lovely little Bajan woman he met on a private cruise on his Rising Sun yacht didn't want anything from him at the time. Hell, between the two of them, Dominique was more upset about winding up pregnant with his child than Larry was. And she would've been glad to just never let Naomi be born (which still hurts her more than her father's neglect, if we're being honest) had it not been for the fact that Naomi's legal guardian and grandmother, Anchal, had not stepped in. All Dominique had to do was give birth to the child, Ellison could pay them off so that Anchal didn't have to take his shit to the public, and no one had to worry about the unwanted baby. It just so happened that when Dominique went about her business as a flight attendant and didn't come back once Naomi didn't need anymore breast milk. Anchal was prepared to do with her child just fine, but somehow or another - maybe it was the urging of his then ex-wife Barbara Boothe who had known about his affair with Dominique in the past, which was why she had divorced him in 1986, or even his own abandonment issues from being a sick child whose mother dropped him off to his aunt and uncle with no explanation - but Larry decided to even house Naomi and Anchal. Decidedly, in California and in his Woodside estate. None of his other children could say they had that privilege as Megan and David stayed with their mother, and all of the others were paid off.

But it wasn't like Naomi received any special treatment in residing in the same house as her father. Perhaps it was those same abandonment issues that Larry secretly suffered from that disallowed him to build anything more than a barely existent relationship with her. Naomi and Anchal stayed in one wing of the house and Larry was gone so often that sometimes, Naomi forgot to miss him. She barely even knew when he returned because he was always leaving just as quickly. She had staff members at her beck and call, but it didn't stop her from missing her father. When she would start drawing pictures and learning how to take a laptop apart, she always wanted to show him - to get his attention. And he would just feed her curiosity and love for technology and innovation, but from a distance. And throw money at her - always throwing money. But never his time. He missed countless birthdays, science contests, and lived his life as if he didn't have a young child just wanting to spend time with him. So, her grandmother did the best she could to in order to circumvent the feelings of despair in Naomi, consistently trying to praise her whenever the girl accomplished something like bringing home good grades or learning how to play the piano. As she had intended to be, even without Larry's money at their disposal, she was Naomi's only parent and to this day, Naomi does not hesitate in saying that she appreciates that. But even Anchal couldn't save her from developing a sharp tongue like her father combined with a casually arrogant air sublimated only by a vivacious charm and occasionally humorous way she deflects from people getting too close to her. Couldn't save her from developing her own sense of abandonment when seeing her father make an actual effort with the children from his marriages in public when she was right there and always waiting. Couldn't stop the cynicism that is carefully veiled by endearing babbling, a sharp focus to her studies, and shameless spending of the same money Larry used to shield himself and Naomi from the truth of his negligence.

While Naomi could safely say that she was never a queen bee in school, she can't say she was innocent and not considered one of the mean girls in her private schools. She was the girl people were scared to like: sharply intelligent and biting with her words and probably one of the most deceiving and meanest bitches that ever were on the inside, but charismatic and bubbly with an expressiveness that alluded to the cynicism and sharp edges underneath. She invoked fear because of her father's name, scrutiny because of her privileged ways, and also attention for not hesitating to just be and seem not ashamed. But she's carried that sense of nonexistent self-worth, even to Fulton where she received a full scholarship because of graduating top of her class with a 5.0 GPA (Larry didn't help by not informing her that he had actually showed up to her graduation). She had no intention of joining the Alphas and being known on campus for anything other than the certified genius (her words, mind you) who happens to yes, be the Little Miss Perfect everyone else jokes that she is. But then Larry looked interested in her sorority affiliation and she pledged, if only for the small amount of attention it garnered her. It helps that she actually has a few people she can actually call friends, which is - in no way - what she can say for the girls she went to school with before Fulton.

Tuesday, October 4 || 12: 30 PM || Location: South Campus Lawn || Weather: Sunny, partly cloudy with winds coming from the south

It was something about the day that had a certain kind of buzz trickling into each and every vein of each and every student on the campus of the magnanimous Fulton University. Seniors and professors alike would tell you that it was perhaps the excitement of the upcoming Homecoming Week, which would mark the return of esteemed alumnae whose legacies were still felt in the halls they once occupied. Older staff members might say it was the stifling heat of the near oppressive Miami sun, its beams bearing down on each and every individual as they made their way across campus, some wearing less stifling clothes than others. The promise of water rides and cool refreshments for later in the afternoon practically drying tongues with anticipation for the Annual Fulton Carnival. However, as newer and the band of less sentimental students would tell you, perhaps...it was the thrill of the unknown...of the spine-tingling allure of Rush Week. While the Student Organization Fair was exciting in and of itself, there was still something devastatingly seductive about seeing the booths for the competing Greek houses, all of their members decked out in their Greek colors. The synergy of their competitive spirits was electric in the air and there was no telling what could happen before the rest of the day's celebrations...

To be quite fair, it was not like Naomi had left the girls, Xanthe in particular, unprepared. For one, she had specified that she needed to finalize the plans for the foam party, which meant overseeing the yacht docking, making sure that catering was still on, and the other small details she needed to iron out while simultaneously making sure that they had enough snacks and such for those who visited the Alpha Theta Pi. They had been decorating since Sunday and Naomi had had the small menu - yes, she was doing extra and no, she did not give a damn - for snacks planned out back on Saturday. Xanthe didn't have those things planned out. Naomi just wanted to see how she would handle dealing with having to keep track of which of the Alpha ladies could leave duty at what time, greeting and informing prospective members while getting contact information from the ones that really stood out, and keeping up when food started to run out. She had left an hour ago and she had been getting one of the seniors to keep her updated on the sophomore's progress.

With her plans having been laid down in full last night, Naomi had been with the first wave of Alpha Theta Pi members setting the booth up and getting the food to the Lawn where all of the organizations, non-Greek affiliated included, were setting up. Like Naomi, some of the other girls who had helped earlier, especially seniors who needed all the credits they could get to graduate on time, had to leave. But she made it a point that everyone, much like every other Greek organization, had to wear the house colors. While she had made it clear that the girls could wear either pink or green, Naomi had done well with incorporating both colors into her ensemble. Her apple-green dress wasn't one of her most expensive items, not that she normally checked which brands she wore, but her elegance and refinery still stone through with the garment was accompanied by Lily Pulitzer sandals, Hellmuth bracelet from Portero, and Samira pearl-drop earrings. Naomi ran a hand through her hair idly as she closed the driver's side door of her Bugatti Chiron. Just as she made sure it was locked, she noted a few guys from the football team, shirtless, and painted in Fulton's school colors and had to laugh. "This is about to be interesting," she mused to herself quietly and stepped onto the sidewalk and headed to the gate to blend in with the throng of students coming and going.

After checking with the yacht her father had made sure to dock in Miami, Naomi did herself - and Jade - a favor by actually getting food without being prompted. She had drank a small mug of coffee when she first woke up, but stopped at Pasión del Cielo - a place she had found with Chantal - for the largest vanilla latte they had and an empanada. Nibbling on the flaky treat, she got the idea to text Jade a picture of her good deed for the day while simultaneously checking up on her favorite people. She didn't have to rush back to the Alpha booth anyway, after all.

"Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she'll conquer the world."
Outfit || Location: South Campus Lawn|| Song: Sally- Bibi Bourelly

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

"Yeah there really is not better sorority to join," Xanthe explained tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. The group of freshman around her all nodded and soaked up all of her words. "I'm sure you have heard all those rumors that we're like rude and all that but none of it is true" She smiled at her fellow Alpha's who were all flitting around the booth making sure it looked great and talking to a few of the freshman who were approaching it. She spotted a girl in the crowd and immediately recognized her. She had partied with her after a film festival in the Cannes.

As the girls cleared out she approached her, "Hey Hun', I didn't know that you decided to come here." Amanda Delorenzo smiled in return and flipped her glossy blonde hair over her shoulder, "Yeah it was like a last minute decision."
Zan laughed lightly, "Well you know that you belong with the Alpha's of course you'll have to be accepted" Amanda winked at her like it was some sort of inside joke and nodded. After a bit more talking she had Amanda leave her information and she walked back over to where some of the girls were talking and setting up.

She noticed one of the Alpha's, Tatiana, snacking on food and she pursed her lips in disapproval. Tatiana had gained twenty pounds over the summer and rather than lose the weight or replace her wardrobe she chose to walk around in ill fitting clothes or in leggings and tank tops. Right now she was wearing black leggings and a tight green tank that wasn't flattering her at all. "Hi Honey, maybe you shouldn't eat any more snacks. How about some fit tea instead? It'll fill you up and you'll lose those extra pesky pounds." She smiled at her warmly before walking away. She didn't think it was a rude thing to say honestly because if she gained a lot of weight she would want them to say something to her. I mean she definitely gained weight when she and Casper broke up. Hell, all she did for like two whole weeks was watch Roman Holiday and eat Ben & Jerry's. Then, like the confident woman she was she lost all the weight, gained a perfect butt, and came back hotter than ever. She pulled out her phone to respond to a text she got from Naomi and send a few of her own.

To: Naomi
Yeah everything is great. Just found a prospect.

To: Kat, Jade
Um project Tatiana starting any time soon? No shade.

To: Andre
Hey make sure you stop by and say hi today.

To: Kienen
Naomi left me in charge with the booth, wish me luck

One of Kat's talents was talking, so events like this, where all that was really expected of her was to mingle, were the ones that she enjoyed most. Most of the freshman passed by made her inwardly cringe, and she was internally point out all of their flaws, or, if an Alpha she was close to was seated next to her, she would whisper them to the girl. One girl passed by with hair that clearly needed some sort of humidity treatment. Another was wearing shorts that were so tight, and in such an unflattering way, that she looked like she belonged on a corner as a prostitute. There was a girl who needed to be introduced to Proactiv, and another who Katherine surmised had to be amazing in bed, because she was so ugly compared to the boy that she was clinging to in a girlfriend-boyfriend manner. All of the things that she picked out about the girls who approached their booth were things that were shallow to notice and become fixated on, but those tended to be the things that mattered most to Katherine. Appearances said a lot about a person, and in Kat's mind, first impressions were important. She seemed to justify the pettiness by reminding herself that she had been a freshman just last year, but she didn't act nearly as embarrassingly as she thought many of these girls were. She had spent a good deal of time getting ready, like always, and certainly was not wearing a t-shirt with "HOLLISTER" boldly printed on it, like the girl who was currently standing in front of her. It took a lot for her not to just roll her eyes at half of the girl's questions, especially since Naomi wasn't around, but she did her best to be pleasant until the girl seemed satisfied and moved on to another booth.

Tired of sitting in an area that seemed to be getting the most traffic, and sensing her patience and attention span dwindling, Katherine got up. She had missed Xanthe leaving by a few seconds, but read her text instantly, as she made her way over to Jade. She hadn't been looking at her phone for a few minutes, so she was only getting Naomi's now, and though she was tempted to comment on how she had been the perfect Alpha all morning, she got straight to the point with her text. She knew that Naomi had to leave for class, which was understandable. Katherine was technically supposed to be at a class right now too, but... well, this had seemed more important. It was a bad mindset to have, especially considering that the Greek societies had a minimum GPA requirement to be involved... and it was one that for her past two semesters, she had just barely reached, but Katherine just didn't care. It wasn't good, and she knew it, but for her academics didn't really matter. They never had. It went beyond her just thinking - and knowing - that her father had enough money to support her for twenty lifetimes. She wasn't intelligent when it came to school, so classes like calculus, the one that she was missing now, not only didn't excite her, but gave her a lot of anxiety too. She hated the feeling that she got when she was sitting in a classroom filled with students who all, at least somewhat, knew what was going on, and she had absolutely no idea. Even when she tried to pay attention and study, it just didn't click with her, so she would become frustrated and give up. It wasn't like she was lying when she justified skipping the class today to herself, by saying that she had a stomachache, because just the thought of sitting through that class over being out here with her girls did give her a stomachache.

To: Naya
I'm getting bored! Where are you?! You're gone, Zan is gone...... :( everyone LEFT me

To: Xanthe
Hoes before bros, Zan!!!!!!!! And Jade will probably go Mom mode if we gossip about Tatiana in the group chat but OMG yes I'm in... Like literally something needs to be done or she needs to be done because she looks like trash

Kat's text was dramatic, and typical of her to accidentally implicate Xanthe for leaving the booth, even though it probably wasn't even a big deal. Her text to Xanthe was more playful, but only because she noticed her then, across the way in the Beta booth. As she sat down in the empty chair beside Jade, her dramatic side kicked in again as she sighed. "Your Little is basically about to get pregnant across the lawn, Jade. Aren't your maternal instincts going to kick in to prevent this teen pregnancy?" Really, Katherine was being playful in the comment, but it was typical of her to want something to be done, only now that she was bored and would actually want Xanthe back by her side to socialize with. "And Naya is really going to hear it from me, because I'm so bored without her here. I really think that she needs to get held back or something, because it's not fair that Zanny is going to get to still have you next year, but I won't have Naomi."

Of course, by the time Naomi made it back to the quickly filling lawn where students were both greeting one another for the first time and conversing like old time friends, she wasn't surprised to see a few of the Alphas spread out in the crowd. Mostly seniors who had taken her example and wore green with pink accents, which made a bright smile flit across her face. It wasn't long for to become distracted by seeing a few STEM majors, one in particular a Beta named Tristan. He was her solace when she had to hang out with the Alphas, a buffer when Hudson served as nothing but a means of distraction before he would be lured away by the swing of hips his hands had not touched before. "Hello, handsome," she exclaimed the second she ran into Tristan, her hands failing to grip his thicker, hardened biceps. Naomi gave a brief squeeze before humming, grinning up at gorgeous green eyes. "Shit, you've worked out, like wow...crazy...hello, Protein World shakes." Tristan chuckled in his grasp; she could feel the tremor of his body in her fingertips and it had her smiling even brighter. "Miss President...you've been by the tables yet?" Naomi shook her head. "Nope, the air is oppressive enough without your brothers' massive egos poisoning my sensitive lungs." She responded and Tristan rolled his eyes, comfortably wrapping an arm around her waist as he led her in the direction of the Beta booth. In the meantime, while they both waved and said hi to a few classmates, Naomi checked her phone only to giggle at Katherine's text with a response. She refused to acknowledge the reasons why Xanthe would leave their booth; that was far too depressing and she hadn't finished her coffee yet.

To: Kat
Be back soon, Kit Kat

To: Zan
Playin hookie already? 4 shame babe

Like always, the Betas were dressed impeccably in their crimson and silver, though she suspected that Hudson was the one who convinced the others to dress up just a bit more than they normally would. The Beta president was the only man she knew, second to their fathers respectively, who would wear a suit in the sweltering heat without it being a requirement. It made her roll her eyes and laugh a little, but the smile fell just briefly when she noted Xanthe and Andre close-by. Because fuck you too, mother nature, her mind supplied bitterly when she couldn't quickly supply an actual greeting to the two. In all honesty, she didn't want to. It would require being more chipper than she already was and she would need another large cup of coffee before dealing with that. Instead, considering she and Tristan were still at a distance, she turned her attention to the Beta booth fully, grinning at Hudson's back. "Excuse me, your Royal Do-Too-Much-ness," she called to Hudson, pulling Tristan along with her behind to the tables that contained food. A few of the guys, seniors and juniors notably, peeked up and grinned at her in welcome, a few stopping to wipe their mouths and wave. Naomi only rolled her eyes at their boyish behavior and pushed Tristan forward, though he kept an arm around her. "I'm returning one of your stragglers." Tristan bumped her lightly while exclaiming, "Hey!" Naomi only winked at him before stating coquettishly, "Don't think I didn't notice you were late, mister. What kind of example are you setting for the babies?" Quickly, as she always did, her attention was back on Hudson and she noted his small plate before smirking, meeting his gaze. "Don't tell me you're already celebrating earning second place to the Alphas in terms of garnering prospective pledges now, Allen. I didn't think you of all people would admit defeat so easily."

Jade was still just a junior, but as a biology major with a psychology minor, her course load this semester was already weighing on her pretty heavily. On top of her school work, she was already beginning to prepare for the MCAT exam and was trying to get together a list of potential medical schools to apply to in the spring. Her sorority had grown so important to her, that it even surprised herself, but in no way could Jade ever put being an Alpha over being a student. That was why she had only just barely made it to their booth on the south lawn by 12:30, an hour and a half after the event had started, and why she knew that she could only stay for a few minutes. After leaving her Development Biology class, she raced back to the Alpha house where she switched her shorts and tank top for a more Alpha-friendly outfit, considering of a pink dress and simple white sandals. Naomi knew that Jade wasn't going to be at the table for the beginning of the event, and just in general, Jade wasn't feverishly concerned about Naomi being disappointed in her lack of presence. For one, they were good friends, and secondly, she was aware that Naomi wasn't going to even be there herself. Jade had no real reason to be in such a rush, but she was, and once she got to the table, she did her best to make sure that everything was in order. Which is what, and unsurprisingly at that. No one would expect for a single thing to be misplaced or forgotten when Naomi was in charge, even if she was only there in spirit for the moment. Regardless, Jade was still able to find something to busy herself with, and spent a good ten minutes talking to a group of girls about the Alpha house, and then the Theta house, when she figured out that they were probably better suited there. While she adored the Alpha house, she knew better than anyone that some people just didn't fit. A lot of the time, she felt like she was one of those people, and she felt like she was doing a good service by promoting other houses to potentially save these girls from spending four years feeling out of place, or trying to be someone that they weren't.

Jade had finished what she was doing around the same time that Xanthe left with Andre, and she had looked up at just the right time to catch his wink, which she responded to with a grin. She was happy to see him, but not so happy to see Xanthe wandering off with him. She loved Andre as a friend, and in her head, that was okay, because she wasn't some pretty little girl like Xanthe, who lived off of romance. When she was with Andre, at least, she thought of herself as her old self - the girl who was too concerned with sports and getting her hands dirty to ever be considered "pretty" by the boys that she hung out with, and that was fine by her because she didn't want to be pretty. And she didn't want to be pretty now, in Andre's eyes, either. So sure, she loved Andre as a friend and trusted him, but she also knew that beyond his personality with her, out playing soccer, was the player version of Andre, and since Xanthe was the picture perfect girl who would fit the mold of the girls he chased, it made her wary. Xanthe and Andre could both insist as much as they wanted that they were just friends, but Jade didn't believe it. Andre was too much of a player and Xanthe wanted that fairy tale ending too badly. There was that over-caring side to her that wanted to get up and go third wheel, but the sane part of her told her that she just had to let them be "friends", though not without sending a response to Xanthe's text first. While she was at it, she answered Naomi's and Lorraine's as well.

To: Xanthe
Be good!

To: Naomi
Barely happy with how late you've been up all week! Sleep deprivation is link to heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and strokes, Mimi!!! AKA sleep is important and you not sleeping gives me high blood pressure!!!

To: Lorraine
Your fave Alpha can't be your fave Alpha atm! Busy trying to persuade kiddies that Zetas are horrible

The text to Lorraine was definitely sent when she was sure that there was no one close enough to read it. For starters, the Alphas were definitely supposed to think, to some extent, that they were above the Zetas. That alone would probably make her friends-with-benefits relationship with Lorraine frowned upon. To top it off, Naomi hated the girl and Jade was well aware of that, which made the whole thing so tricky. It didn't help that Lorraine was pretty bold and brazen and always seemed to like to live on the edge and come close to exposing it, so much that she had Jade's heart racing, but had never actually done so. In a way, it turned her on, but during moments like this, when she couldn't focus on that, she knew that she had to pretend she had no interest in Lorry, or texting her.

Luckily, all of the texts were sent and her phone was set down again by the time that Katherine came over. Almost instantly, she started with her dramatics that never failed in bringing a smile to Jade's face. Katherine was absolutely a spoiled brat who lived in some fantasy world where everything revolved around her, but at the same time, she was endearing and funny and sweet and so genuine that none of the bad things even mattered. "Stop it," she chided playfully, placing one of her hands on Katherine's. "My Little is as smart as they come and she knows that I will personally murder her if she ever gets herself knocked up. Hell, I'd kill Andre too."

Katherine's comment about Naomi leaving at the end of the year was a reminder that she didn't need, but it was probably going to be just as sad for Kat to lose her big. However, it was definitely best that Jade hadn't ended up as Katherine's Big. It was quite the contrast to how she seemed to the majority of people, but with people she cared for, Jade was quite loving. So much so, that when it came to Katherine, she would probably be too tolerant of her sometimes impulsively ignorant comments or her tendency to push her responsibilities out of the way in favor of fun. It wasn't like she treated Katherine like a child who needed babysitting, and she would push that Katherine try to do better in her classes, but if she made up some pretend symptom for an illness she was faking, Jade would probably give in easily, despite being on a pre-med track and likely knowing better than anyone that Kat was faking. She wanted everyone to be happy and healthy and comfortable, but giving in to Kat too much would probably on egg on her irresponsibility. Naomi was actually the best match that Kat could have gotten, when it came down to it, because Naomi was fun and compassionate too, but she was wildly intelligent and knew when to get serious, as well. Without having to act as her Big, it was easier for Jade to be sympathetic to Katherine anyway, so it worked out and she appreciated the relationship she had with Katherine. While everyone knew that Jade's "mama-bear" instincts were only meant with good intentions, she knew good and well that all of the Alphas had their shit together, but with Katherine, she felt like her watchful eye was more necessary, and feeling useful was something that she always appreciated. "You're going to have your own Little to worry about by next year, so you'll be fine. Naomi's going to visit anyway, but speaking of the queen herself, where is she?"

The comments that Andre left Hudson with, about the Beta quota, and more so, having a girl in his bed that would be perfect for the Zeta house, left Hudson chuckling. This was why Andre was his right hand man - he had the sense of humor that Hudson possessed, and was there to keep things moving in the house when Hudson wasn't. "I'll let her know, but before I give her my Zeta stamp of approval, I might need to borrow her for a night to see for myself," Hudson followed up, turning back to hand out some of the food to the other Betas. He was crude and inappropriate, and definitely disrespectful towards whatever Zeta Andre had been referring to, but that was just how Hudson was, and somehow, having a pocket full of cash and an expensive suit on let him get away with it. And really, he wasn't going to complain about that. He missed Andre's quick exit as he took a seat and started on his own food, but had to take a pause when he spotted Tristan coming up with Naomi. As soon as a gulp of water washed his steak down, his smile turned upwards into a smirk.

"Nah, not celebrating anything other than the sheer joy of being a Beta. Plus, I'm guessing that Larry sent in a little dinghy for our party tomorrow. I figured I should give my men a little protein boost, since I'm sure you'll need one of my boys to man the oars. I told you, Princess; you should've let the Allen crew handle the boat selection."
Hudson's father and Naomi's father were competitive in a lot of things, given that their work genres were so closely tied together, but those who knew them on a more personal or social level, at least, knew that both men shared a pride in yachting, and it seemed like they worked almost as hard at one-upping each other in that field, as they did in the tech field. In a move that fit his boisterous and bold personality well, Hudson didn't let up there, though. He paused for only a second, before turning his head back towards the rest of the Betas, as if he had had an "ah-ha!" moment. "Hey, you know what? I think we have enough food to share with you too. Kienen, word on the street is that you know exactly what kind of meat she likes," Hudson was being playful in his opinion, but the knowing laughs and "woooooo"s coming from some of the other Betas, spoke to what he was getting at. "I'd tell you to fetch her something nice and pink, because damn, some of that that pink across the lawn looks good enough to eat, but I think you know Princess's tastes better than most of us, so you pick what you think's going to excite her the most." Andre was gone, so that was safe to say, and it was only safe, in the sense that he too, would know what kind of "meat" Naomi was into. With the way that Hudson was, he would have still made the same comment with Andre in his presence, despite knowing that it was a sensitive topic, and despite actually caring about Andre's feelings. It was just how Hudson was - if he got enjoyment out of it, he was going to do it regardless of who it bothered, hurt, or made uncomfortable. Besides, he liked pushing Naomi's buttons, no matter how brazenly he was acting.

"I think any color is your color in a dress like that." Andre replies, taking a good long look at Xanthe as she heaves his arm from her shoulder. She still pecks him on the cheek for the compliment and grabs a hold of her hand, wary of her sisters and the opinions they may have on her relationship with Andre. She must have known he'd start thinking of a certain Alpha sister in particular, so she asks him how the prospects are going. "The boys are coming in flocks, plenty of legacies to choose from. There's no question on who's getting the best pledges this year." Andre winks at Xanthe, following her almost dutifully when she starts leading him around the carnival. They stopped at the Zeta table, only for Xanthe to express her distaste towards Lorraine, and then walk off.

Andre has nothing against Lorraine, they're actually party buddies most of the time, but he couldn't go against Xanthe. That woman is not someone you want to make unhappy. Plus, Andre wants to keep her happy anyway, because she's his Zanny.

Andre considers just taking them both back to the Beta booth, but once he looks over and sees Naomi walking towards the table, he reconsiders. Seeing Naomi right now would just dampen his good mood. There much else to do at the Carnival, considering the row of Greek booths dominate the activity. Sooner or later, he'll have to show back up at the Beta booth, and Naomi's either going to be there or right across the way at the Alpha booth. "As much as I love you playing hooky with me, minha beleza ruiva, I think I should take you back to the Alphas before Jade scolds me." my reheaded beauty. They make a small circle around the carnival before ending up in the middle of the two booths.

"-I think you know Princess's tastes better than most of us, so you pick what you think's going to excite her the most." Andre catches the end of Hudson's conversation, and is already formulating a comment when he realizes just who Hudson is talking to. Between his dinners with Xanthe, soccer with Jade, and... fun with Kat, he's manage to avoid Naomi for the whole semester so far. Even at parties, she just seemed to always be somewhere else. Realizing what Hudson's talking about, his heart tells him to stand up for Naomi, because no one should talk to her like that, not even Andre's best friend. But he can't, because when they make eye contact, he can feel his eyes getting hot. He hates himself for still getting worked up at the sight of her. He has to find a way out, a way not to look like a heartbroken idiot in front of his brothers. Valentine, the brother who can't get over a relationship that ended almost two years ago.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

As they approached the Beta and Alpha tables something in Andre's demeanor changed. She glanced over to see what caused it and saw Naomi hanging out the Beta table. She knew that Andre and Naomi did a pretty good job of avoiding each other. She also knew that Andre might go on a girl binge after seeing Naomi and that hurt a little. But she loved the both of them so she knew it was her duty as his best friend and as her sister to stand by them.

She squeezed the hand that was still holding her own, and smiled up at him,"I know this is tough honey but it's going to be okay." She led him back over to the Betas table, careful to keep a smile on her face as she approached them. Keep your head, heels, and expectations high, that's what her nanny Lacey used to say. She kept that in mind as they approached the Alpha table. She wasn't nervous for herself really, it was mainly him. Yeah they were holding hands but she also had a bad habit of climbing into people's laps when she was tipsy. Not just males like Hudson, Kienen, and Andre, but females as well like Naomi, Kat, and Jade. But honestly she just was a toucher and she's also done that sober.

She approached Naomi first, letting go of Andre and going for a hug, before kissing Hudson and Kienen on the cheek, "I would love to chat but I've strayed from the Alpha booth long enough." She said with a wink. She pointed to Kienen and Andre, "I demand to be won a stuffed animal at the carnival tonight!" She added playfully before sauntering off to the Alpha table.

When she came back to the table she approached Kat from behind and pulled her into a hug, "I'm back" She said in a sing song voice. She let go and moved so she was leaning on the table in front of Kat and Jade. She smiled at the girls and tossed her hair over her shoulder. It was getting hot and soon she was going to need a hair tie to get all of that hair off of her. She recently cut her hair to her chest but originally it was hanging down her back. She thought that cutting it would help with the heat but it was still thick as ever and even more annoying because it kept slipping back onto her shoulder. "So what are we gonna do about Tatiana. I swear I'm not trying to be mean but... c'mon she wore leggings to this. The other day she went to brunch in sweats like we went to Denny's or something. We are Alpha's, I don't mean to be mean but you can't do that. " She huffed, getting herself a bit worked up, "If she can't lose the weight she needs to buy new clothes."

As soon as Hudson finished his drink of water, Naomi had to prepare herself. Obviously, because she could tell by the mischeivous glint in his eyes that Hudson was gunning for her and it made Naomi fold her arms over her chest. She leaned her weight on her left leg, her left hip jutting out slightly as she took what Hudson had to dish out...which was, well it was a cute little dig. They were being tame apparently. Real cute, Allen, she thought but did not vocalize, head nodding absently as the Betas let out their respective "ooooohs" at their president's insult. But of course, she didn't have to wait long for him to make more to say because in typical Hudson fashion - and paying homage to the moniker she initially regarded him with - he continued.

This time, his commentary made her eyebrow raise in slightly contempt, a nervousness settling in the pit of her stomach. Andre was close enough, too close. Xanthe had came over and hugged her, which Naomi only returned half-heartedly in her disbelief at Hudson mentioning the one thing she had not even talked with the girls about. Especially when Andre was so near. It was never her intention for him to find out what happened between herself and him. The him in question received a small glare at that point, though Naomi made sure to return her gaze to Hudson soon after. Last she had checked, she had been pretty adamant with the other Beta that she didn't want their little mistakes to get out. But she should have known better - she did know better. Hudson, just like herself, was privy to information others would not know about until the situation had already blown over. She was foolish. As usual. The truth of the matter, however, was that Naomi was not about to cow. Even if her cheeks still felt heated with the shame of her past entanglements and the boys were a bit riled up by Hudson's nosy knowings, Naomi wasn't one to just back down to him and after a beat, a smirk formed on her face. She slid out from underneath Tristan's arm, who backed up knowingly, so that she could step further in Hudson's face. "For one, baby, if I would have left the boat selection to the Allens, I actually wouldn't be surprised that you would manage to find decent accommodations for our event. Mediocre, at best, much like your Dad's net worth," she heard Tristan and a few of the guys hiss out a collective "Shit!" that gave her enough pause to smile before continuing, "but I'm sure it would've sufficed just enough to prove why the Betas have always and will always come second place to the incomparable legacy of the Alphas. And the Ellisons, but...that's just me digging salt in the wound, right? Then again, knowing the many skanks you've dipped, flipped and tricked to stay relevant, I wouldn't be surprised if you did make the time to know all about boat selections. You Allens know all about compensating, don't you?" In that last leg of her first insult, Naomi had taken a small moment to eye Hudson surreptitiously, teasing, and with the faintest hint of trying to size him up as if she had not already done so before. Naomi allowed herself to giggle then and winked at the Betas who felt just a tad insulted, though they knew she was only being playful. Besides, she felt entitled to get back at Hudson for that small dig and the boys were more amused by the show than anything else. Not many people could say they could get one on Hudson Allen, shade extraordinaire.

Naomi hummed thoughtfully, taking just a second to level Kienen with a cold stare before grinning. "I'll leave you gentleman to your meat since that's about the only thing I think we all know you can handle best," she began, a note of sincere belief in her own statement in her voice, and Tristan was the first to indignantly cry "Hey, now!" which made her laugh softly. "But please, do come by the Alpha tent soon, Allen. I'd offer you some Nobu, but I'm pretty sure neither of us want a repeat of that crab infestation you had going for you some time ago?" She turned her eyes coldly upon Kienen, "Or was it you, Fox?" There was a notable difference in her tonality when addressing her drunken blunder: her voice was nothing short of steel and she didn't bother trying to hide her contempt. However, as quickly as the wind could sweep through, Naomi clunked herself on the head softly, taking on somber and apologetic tone. "My bad. It always escapes me which one of you has caught another STD. See ya, babes!" Just a bit satisfied, Naomi turned only to meet Andre's gaze.

Her breath stuttered in her chest because obviously, Naomi was seventeen again and Andre's eyes made her stomach flutter like it did on their very first date. But you ruined that, didn't you, some bitter part of her snapped and Naomi was a bit grateful that she was distracted enough by Hudson and the others to not have seen the display of affection Xanthe probably showered Andre with before walking away. It would have been too much - it would have hurt too much. So, she did exactly what she did when she had decided to break up with him - the guilt and hurt in her eyes hardened until he was nothing more than another Beta to her and all she uttered for him was a brief "Hey, Valentine" before stalking across the way to the Alpha tent.

By the time Naomi made it back to the girls, her favorite three were all together and it brought a much more relaxed smile from her, even her shoulders released the tension she had felt mounting within her being in Andre's presence. It was ridiculous that one person could still have that much power - that he held so much power and didn't even know it - and it made it harder for her to breathe. Her anxiety was rising and the coffee still in her hand was cold now, so she set it on one of their tables. "Hey, babies!" She greeted, quick to embrace Katherine fiercely and give as convincing of a smile to Jade as she could since she was the only one between the other two to be able to read her lies. And she should have been better at being nice to Xanthe since the poor girl did nothing wrong, but Naomi's hackles were still risen, Andre's face was still fresh on her mind, and Hudson calling her out was still ringing in her ears. "And if you're going to another lovers' stroll, perhaps after your responsibilities for the day are over, ok babe?" It was unfair and not right, and Naomi was going to feel horrible later but her smugness overpowered any guilt she could have possibly felt for unnecessarily snapping at Zan. Naomi didn't wait for a response and she knew she was being catty, but she couldn't help herself at the moment. She needed control and the best way to do that was distract herself with the freshman that came over. "Welcome to the Alpha Theta Pi tent. I'm Naya..."

"Didn't she have class or something? I don't know but she better get back here soon." Katherine was on the verge of returning to Jade's reference to Andre, when Xanthe walked over. She was going to casually ask Jade what her thoughts on Xanthe and Andre were, and for a more detailed account on what had happened with Naomi and Andre. She needed reassurance that there was nothing romantic lingering there in either of those cases, to reassure herself that she wasn't a horrible person for having made out with Andre a couple of times. She needed the reassurance mostly because from her own accord, there was something still lingering with both of her friends, and she was a horrible friend. It wasn't like Katherine to keep secrets, especially not ones about hookups since she very rarely interacted with anyone in a sexual manner, but that in itself had made her more nervous about the whole thing. She had hooked up with Andre once over the summer, and that night, she could still brush off as being a drunken mistake. She had consumed enough alcohol that she was able to be convinced into doing cocaine... so she could brush off kissing Andre as being a consequence of the alcohol, too. However, she couldn't exactly use that excuse again, to justify their more recent make out session, or how she engaged almost as much as he did, in the secret flirting. It was so bad, and the worst part about it, was that Katherine wasn't even sure what she felt for Andre. She considered that maybe if she was head over heels in love with him, this would be understandable. She could claim that she couldn't help herself. But with the way that Katherine was, and how years of body image issues had limited her from ever even considering developing any sort of relationship with guys, she wasn't even sure if she was really that attracted to Andre. Sure, she could recognize that he was very attractive and that she was definitely having fun when her face was pressed against his, but was it a thrill that was exclusive to him? Did she need to have fun with a guy who already had romantic ties to two of her closest friends, plus a friendship with Jade. Being involved in this at all was bad news, and Katherine was well aware of it, but she wished that she could feign ignorance on the entire matter. Xanthe's presence quickly eliminated the chance of Kat bringing it up, and Naomi showing up only a beat later sealed the deal.

Although Katherine knew that when Xanthe was shallow, she was doing it more-so out of being blunt and maybe even actually concerned, than being purely petty and shallow like Katherine was, she still enjoyed having someone to gossip with. A smile found its way to Kat's lips as she offered a nod of agreement, and normally she would have been very quick with some snide, follow-up remark to agree with Xanthe, but comments about weight threw her off, mostly because it led to her being very worried that Xanthe probably had these same conversations with other girls, about her. It was foolish and even Kat knew that, but it didn't stop the anxiety from coming back every now and again. "I think she was blaming gaining so much on her thyroid being messed up, or something, but I heard that her dad was indicted on embezzlement charges or something, and like, her whole family's falling apart at the seams." There was barely an ounce of sorrow in Kat's reasoning, and any that was originally there was removed once she followed up with, "But I totally agree. I mean, we could be nice and take her shopping or something."

Katherine noticed nothing off about Naomi's greeting, until she made the remark to Xanthe about leaving to go on a "lovers' stroll". It made her wince internally, only because it was surprisingly, yet nonchalantly, sharp and unexpected, and rather than say anything immediately, her eyes quickly fell upon Xanthe to read her reaction. Partly, she wanted to see if Xanthe would be as caught off guard as she was, but she also wanted to see how she reacted to the "lovers'" part of Naomi's comment, if at all, because it would give her at least a semblance of peace if she responded with disgust at the thought of it. When the fear of Xanthe responding positively to that part of the comment set in with Kat, though, she opted against sitting there and got to her feet. "My package from Sephora that I've been waiting for, for like forever, finally got here this morning, and it has all of those Caudalie face masks that I was telling you guys about the other day, so I kind of want to go back to the house now and try one, because I feel like my pores are like, literally on the verge of a mental breakdown." She opted against waiting for Jade of Zan's response, and instead, found her way towards the front of the booth where Naomi stood. When she was no longer in the middle of a sentence, Katherine squeezed her arm and put on her best smile. "Okay, so I love you, and you're totally so pretty right now, and I want to hang out with you all day, but I can feel my pores turning into craters right now, and I have a Caudalie mask calling my name. Am I free to go?" she requested, with dramatically playful batting of her eyes being added in for the extra effect.

Hudson allowed Naomi her moment to shine, and didn't interrupt as she laid in to him, but his smirk grew throughout her playful tirade, despite it barely being noticeable. Naomi was something special, that was for sure, and no matter how low she wanted to get with the digs, they never did much to personally hurt Hudson. Maybe his ego was just that big, that not much could really get to him anymore. Regardless, he got more pleasure than anger out of all of his "altercations" with Naomi, and a lot of it was because he felt a level of sexual tension present. It wasn't something that was strong enough that either of them would probably ever act on it, and that was especially true for Hudson, who valued his friendship enough with Andre to know that he couldn't do that to him. Even if he could convince himself that Naomi would be as easy as he thought. His smirk remained present for the entirety of Naomi's commentary, and though he didn't give in to the sneers of the guys behind him, he did shake his head, in mock disappointment, as Naomi left their booth without offering him a chance at rebuttal. Typical, she's always had more of a "flight" than "fight" instinct. He turned back to the other Betas then, and though his smirk was still adamant, he tried to sound more serious. "All right, all right, she's gone. Let her have her fun, but we all know that if one of us had an STD, Princess would be the first one to know, since she's banged about half of this house. On a brighter note, though, boys; dig in. I don't want this steak going to waste" The retort came once Naomi was already gone, and it was probably better that way, since it wasn't completely true, but Hudson knew that it might have resonated enough in her to piss her off.

He picked up his plate and a full carryout box, and headed towards the front of the tent where Xanthe had left Andre. Although he had taken a moment to briefly greet Xanthe when she quickly left him with a departing kiss to the cheek, he hadn't had a chance to acknowledge Andre since then. Shoving the box into the Beta's hands, he gave him an inquisitive look. "You dog. Don't tell me that you've got both of Naya's most prized sophomores wrapped around your finger. I'll give it to you, Valentine -- you really know how to play the game, and that, my friend, is worth drinking to. I won't let you live it down if you don't bring one of the two, or both, back to the house tonight. We'll bring out our best bottle of champagne and toast to the sweet taste of revenge." Hudson knew that apparently, Andre's friendship with Xanthe was somewhat genuine, and that his hookup with Katherine had been unplanned and unexpected, but still, he felt like behind the layers of sheer attraction, Andre had to be plotting something. At the very least, it was a very pleasant coincidence that he ended up scoring with two of the girls that Naomi was closest with. If there was any good way to get back at someone for breaking your heart, it was to show them that you could and would move on, and with their best friends.

Chantal unlike most of the other Thetas was away from the table. She was great at talking to people when it came to talking about her pride and joy, Theta Chi. She was so busy talking to a group of people that she didn't even have a moment to look at her phone. "Hey, guys! So, you're interested in Theta Chi?" She smiled towards the group of four girl who came up to her once seeing her letters on her necklace, presidential pin, and purse. What can she say? She loved her house. Not to mention it was easy to see what house she belonged to from her outfit and the mixture of powder blues and cream throughout her outfit. From her powder blue romper, cream corset belt and wedges, and matte white nails. When they all agreed that they were interested. Chantal smiled and handed them the pamphlets she had made for the fair. They their colors, powder blue and cream and were covered with photos from last year from bid day to big and little reveal and her personal favorite, their formal. It was the night she was voted President for the incoming year. After working so hard over the past four years, she finally going to get the chance to show Fulton what Theta was made of! "Well that's awesome! My name's Chantal and I'm president of the house. Let me just give a quick rundown of Theta Chi. You may have heard rumors about Greek life from friends or from movies, right?" She raised an eyebrow before the girls nodded. The blonde named Katie was saying how she was nervous how it might be like in the movie when it's all about drama.

"I totally get it. I was nervous when I was rushing too and while I can't talk about all the houses. I can promise you that Theta's not like that. We're about friendship not gossip, fun not drama, and we have one of the best sisterhoods on campus and the friends you make in that house. You'll keep forever." She smiled when she noticed that two of the girls, Katie and Serena smiled as they continued to listen to her and look at the pictures of the girls. Serena looked up at Chantal with her green eyes as she told her that that sounded perfect. Chantal smiled before nodding. "It is pretty perfect. Well, I'll let you guys go and explore the other houses but, I really hope to see you guys during rushing." She smiled as she waved. She began to walk back towards the Theta Chi tent with their large wooden letters leaning against their table. Before getting to their table Chantal looked at her phone to see a text from Naomi. She chuckled as she was thinking the same thing earlier this morning when she was getting things ready for their Theta/Kappa party.

        To: Nomi
Tell me about it! Hey if you have time before the carnival and wanna hang let me know. I still need help picking out what to wear. <3

She sent the message before walking towards the tent and behind the table to see Lex and Pritika. She smiled towards them once another group of girls walked away from their table once they were finished talking to one of the sophomores, Melanie. "Hey, beautifuls. How's the table going? Think you'd snagged some good girls this year?" She didn't see that Pritika just arrived at the table and honestly it was probably for the best. Chantal didn't really like when people were late and she didn't want to have to talk to the girls about it.

Xanthe's return brought a smile to Jade's face, but it faded just a bit when she brought up the topic of her group text from minutes before: Tatiana. Sure, Jade had noticed that the younger Alpha may have gained a few pounds over the summer as well, and she certainly wasn't dressing to Alpha perfection, but Jade wasn't the type of person who would ever want to address that with another girl. If anything, she would want it to be done in a very indirect way, such as inviting the girl to come on her daily jog with her or something. She knew that Xanthe's intentions were pure because she truly believed that her little was far from a bitch, but at the same time, not everyone understood that Xanthe's criticism was almost always meant to be constructive. Tatiana had to be aware that she had gained some pounds, and therefore, wasn't trying to squeeze into those pretty dresses and blouses she had sported the year before. She had to be insecure about it, and Jade didn't want her to feel worse, but at the same time, Xanthe was right - she was an Alpha, and she had a house to represent, especially at an event like this. If Jade could have gotten away with wearing a pair of leggings or workout shorts and a t-shirt, god knows that that was what she would be wearing at that very moment, but she was aware of what was expected of her as an Alpha. So, while Jade didn't think that Xanthe or Katherine needed to be the ones to say something, she agreed that someone needed to do something.

"You two, be nice. Unless you want to just casually take her out on a friends' shopping trip, don't you say anything. Both of you can be a little... harsh, and if that's true, Kat, then the last thing she needs is anyone telling her that she looks like garbage." She brushed a strand of misplaced brown hair behind her ear, her eyes flickering past Xanthe as she watched Naomi approach from across the lawn. "I'll tell Naya to talk to her later, but you two don't say anything. I don't need her accusing you guys of being mean girls." It was interesting how concerned Xanthe was for the Alpha name. It was definitely a good thing, in terms of her leadership ability, and the pride she took in the representation of the Alphas was admirable, but Jade still felt like this was something that Naya, or at least an upperclassman Alpha, needed to take care of. Otherwise, she really felt like Tatiana could be offended. She knew that she would have been, at least, had she been in that position.

Naomi had reached them then, offering Jade a smile that was quickly returned, though she was surprised with how quickly their president left, and more-so, with the biting comment that she left Xanthe with. Really, it wasn't too mean, but it was just not something that Jade expected Naomi to say, and that along, given the topic, made it clear that Naomi was bothered, not so much with Xanthe leaving the booth, but with leaving with Andre. It made her frown, partly because she knew she had to talk to Naomi later about it, but also because she knew Zan had been completely innocent in whatever she had been doing with Andre. Jade, along with a few other senior, junior and sophomore girls had been manning the table completely fine, so Zan's disappearance had largely gone unnoticed. Nothing was crashing and burning, no responsibilities had been neglected. "She's just stressed out, don't take that to heart," Jade reasoned to Zan almost immediately once Naomi and Katherine had left the table. "She's been up late all week." Since Jade had been unable to prevent the comment from Naya, she felt like it was necessary for her, for some reason, to come up with a bunch of excuses for why Zanny had no reason to take it personally. "But what has been going on with you and Andre? I'll ask him myself and he'll tell me," she teased, trying to lighten the mood now. "So no beating around the bush!"

Zan took a bit of a step back from Naomi when she lashed out at her. She bit her lip to hold back the retort that was already forming on her tongue and simply nodded as Naomi walked away. She figured Naomi was just stressed out but at the same time she had received Naomi's blessing when she confessed that she had feelings for Andre and that she might pursue him this year. She was finally starting to have hope in Andre. After months of watching girl after girl after girl hop in and out of his bed she just... she felt like she needed to tell him how she felt and if he decided that he had no feelings for her than he could say so and they could go back to being best friends but if not... who knew?

When Kat walked away she opened her mouth in protest. "God, her too? " She huffed out in frustration, "I walked away for like fifteen minutes, twenty tops, and I was nearby."

Even though Jade tried to make her feel better it wasn't really helping. She knew that Naomi was stressed out, she really understood that, but why did she have to take it out on her? And then Kat just left her too. What was even Kat's deal she just left so abruptly? Zan bit her lip, she tried to think of what she could have done to make Kat disappear too but she couldn't think of anything. I mean not anything she did on purpose but Zan had a habit of being blunt and saying things without thinking, so who knows? She might have pissed her off by saying something.

She was in her own world when she heard Jade mention Andre. She knew that Jade was just trying to lighten the mood but it was a question that she should answer. I mean she told Jade everything so why should she stop now? She tucked some stray hairs behind her ears and sighed audibly, "I mean I don't know. You know we're best friends right? I mean he's been there for me through so much" She paused and glanced over to the Beta tent, only to see he was gone. "Things kind of... changed when me and Cas broke up. It first started with him flirting with me to cheer me up and stuff but then I developed feelings for him. " She looked Jade in the eye and smiled sheepishly, "Real feelings Jade. I know I always think I have real feelings but this isn't one of my stupid crushes. I really care about him. I'm thinking of telling him at the foam party"

She glanced down and felt her stomach tighten, "Something has felt.. off lately though. I thought it was because he still loves Naomi and trust me I know he does but it's like he's keeping something from me. I don't know what it could be though because we face times almost every day this summer. Even if it was for five or ten minutes, he would have told me. " She shrugged and smiled brightly, it was a fake smile and she knew Jade could tell but she smiled anyways, "Doesn't matter I'm probably crazy. Just ignore me, I might not even tell him."

"I won't lie to you and tell you that we're the nicest house on campus. We're not because it's not realistic to sell ourselves as such," Naomi explained to a group of young women, allowing herself to effectively give them her sole and undivided attention the second she was away from her trio. She didn't have to care for the look she knew Jade tossed her the second the words left her mouth nor the taken aback expression on Xanthe's face while she was snapped at. "Being an Alpha Theta Pi is not limited to having the highest GPA in your class, which 75% of our girls have, or even having the best parties on campus, though you will be surprised by whose parties we're invited to in the city because trust - we have far more connections outside of these gates than some of our competition." Dramatic yes, but Naomi paused then, running a hand through her hair as she saw movement from the corner of her eye. Because somebody hates me, she thought, guilty, as she watched Andre storm away from the Beta booth, sliding past people in their groups to get away. It made her frown and she could feel her nails digging into the palm of her hand until the pressure became too much, so her attention turned back to the task at hand. "Pledging Alpha Theta Pi means that you're coming to develop the entire self, emotionally, physically, mentally - all that good stuff. 88% of all Alpha Theta Pi members become CEOs, develop their own businesses and end up with positions in Fortune 500 companies, which is a lot more than the other competitors can promise you. In other words, you become the boss ass bitch you've always wanted to be and then some." The girls giggled at that and Naomi couldn't stop the grin that formed on her face while adding, "It just so happens that you look flawless while doing so. Just write down your information if you want and we'll get back to you soon, ok?" The girl who initially approached her and seemed lead the group, Sophia if Naomi was remembering her correctly, beamed before setting out to write first. Making her first on Naomi's go-getter list.

Just as she was finished, she felt the pressure of someone on her arm, giving her just the distraction she needed to not succumb to the guilt she already felt over Andre's disturbed mood. He had been fine earlier and she was screwing up all over again, like she always did when it came to him apparently - and for absolutely nothing, might she just add - and Kat's subtle perfume wafted up to her nose in the heated air, and Naomi turned to see her Little giving her the most pathetically adorable look she could give. Uh huh, I'm real pretty when you want something, huh," she drawled, raising an eyebrow at the brunette before shaking her head in amusement. "Go. But don't think that I've forgotten that you are supposed to be on clean up duty today." It wasn't like they all needed to stay behind and while Naomi herself would probably oversee that everything was taken care of because that was just the person she was, she wasn't going to force everyone to help. Besides, they probably didn't even need to stay for too much longer. The event would be winding down soon enough and people would be headed off to the actual Carnival. And she would have to actively attempt to avoid Andre later. And Xanthe probably. She peered down at her phone, once Kat was skipping along her merry little way, and gladly responded to Chantal.

To: Chanti
Um yes plz. And pre-game. I need alcohol.

Kat had not forgotten that she was supposed to be on clean-up duty either, today, and that was just one more driving force behind why she needed to leave. Had she showed up to the booth later, she probably would have been fine with staying until the end of the fair and cleaning up, but she had not been lying when she claimed that she was really bored to Jade, earlier. She was good at talking and socializing, and she had done that for nearly two hours already. Now that the thrill of that was done, she didn't want to continue forcing herself to mingle with freshman and do so, knowing that by the end of the event, she would be stuck cleaning up. It wasn't like "cleaning up" in this sense was actually cleaning, more than it was packing things up and carrying it back to the house, but just the connotation associated with being forced to "clean" anything made her want to skip out on it. Plus, she wasn't lying when she said that she was anxious to test her new skincare products that had finally arrived in the mail. There was no one who could make two-day-shipping seem like an eternity quite like Katherine could. It was safe to say that waiting for anything just wasn't her thing. "You're an angel, and I owe you," she beamed in pleasure, blowing Naomi a kiss before scurrying away from the booth.

She was already a few feet away from the Alpha booth when Andre's name flashed onto her phone screen, but even that distance didn't seem safe enough to open up a message by him. Unlike Jade and Xanthe, Katherine wasn't friends with Andre to a point where it would be normal for her to just hang out or even text him, for no reason. They were friendly in person, sometimes to a point where it might have been too friendly for there expected relationship, but they weren't supposed to be texting each other. At least when they weren't drunk, and Katherine certainly was not drunk at the moment. That meant that just seeing Andre's name, and not even opening up the message, sent a wave of anxiety through her, as she quickened her pace, moving away from the Alpha booth, followed by a wave of guilt, knowing that doing anything with Andre was wrong, given her friendship with both Naomi and Xanthe. Naomi could claim that she held no feelings for Andre anymore, and Xanthe could claim that they were just friends, but that didn't change girl code, and how wrong it would be for Kat to do anything with Andre.

However, despite knowing that she should have just deleted the text and carried on with her very innocent plans of pampering herself until it was time for the carnival, Katherine gave in to temptation and opened his message, and found herself chewing on her bottom lip, partly out of anxiety, and partly to resist smiling, at his text.

To: Andre
I can't do anything that's going to get me into trouble... but I'll be over in a min

The whole walk over, she reminded herself of how stupid it was for her to go over to the Beta house, despite everyone being out at Student Organizations events. She knew this spelled trouble, and that Andre probably only wanted her there as a "stress reliever", but something kept her walking down the path towards the Beta house, and before long, she ended up approaching the guy on the front porch with a nervous smile pulling at the corners of her lips. "What can I help you with?" she said, instinctively giggling as she continued towards him.

Jade was acting out of character for the moment, but she would blame Lorraine for it. She was unusually okay with just letting Xanthe walk off, despite knowing that she was upset, after she discretely opened the two text messages that Lory sent her. In her defense, the second one made it hard to resist, so much so, that Jade decided that she would leave to go meet the Zeta. She knew that it was wrong, just as an Alpha, but then as a friend to Naya, especially after Katherine and Xanthe left, but then again, there were a substantial number of Alphas still present. Unlike Zan, Jade couldn't bring herself to just slip away from the booth and text Naya for why she left. Not only did she not want to be rude, when she was the one who was so adamant about how Naya had put too much work into this event, but also because she didn't think Naomi would be pleased with a Big and Little set both disappearing in that manner, with just a text to explain their absence. And though she knew Naomi and Xan were close too, she suspected that she would end up being the one to hear about it, since she was the "Big" in the relationship.

Once Xanthe was gone, Jade found her way to Naomi, who was being the picture-perfect President, as per usual. "Hey Naya," she smiled, again, acting unusually selfish by not taking this moment to comment on the incident with Zan earlier, or how bothered Naya had seemed. "I have to drop off some notes to one of the girls in my Developmental Bio class who was sick today. Mind if I leave now, or will you need me?" It wasn't like she didn't feel bad for acting like everything was okay when it wasn't, but... right now, Jade just really needed a release, and Lorraine always ended up being the perfect answer to that.

Naomi had slid her phone back into its hiding place after a minute to wrap up a brief informational session with a possible pledge when she felt another presence at her side. Her head lolled to the side, almost lazily but definitely leisurely, to meet Jade's eyes before looking away, the same coldness she had showed towards Xanthe earlier returning now that she had read the redhead's text. "You're dismissed," she stated impassively picking up a few pamphlets. "We'll be cleaning up here soon anyway. I'm bored and I want more coffee."

If Jade was going to leave this organization fair early, there were a lot of things that she should have prioritized above it, over Lorraine. She hadn't eaten since eight in the morning, so lunch was seeming pretty appealing right now. She needed to go back to the house and get changed and ready for the carnival. She had a research paper for her immunology course due Friday. Essentially, she had a lot of understandable reasons to leave the carnival, and yet here she was, defying her own morals, and leaving to go mess around with Lory. A Zeta. Thinking about it made her head hurt, but it didn't stop her from giving Naomi a grateful smile, despite knowing good and well that she should have stayed, especially sensing the tension in Naomi's response, and then continuing towards the Zeta house. As she walked, she responded to Lory's text with a playful one of her own.

To: Lorraine
If I make it there in 2 minutes, I expect a reward ;)

Jade was athletic, so if anyone could have made it there in two minutes, it would have been her, but she wasn't going to attempt to run in heels, she it probably took her closer to five to get to the Zeta house. With a quick glance around to asses her surroundings, she decided that there was no one around, and slipped through the back door. It was a move she had made too many times for it to feel awkward, yet it always left her feeling nervous and somewhat dangerous, as she found herself inside the Zeta house. Lorraine's bedroom was only feet from the back door entrance which was nice, and by now, Jade was accustomed with just giving a quick "coast is clear" look, before barging into Lory's room, without bothering to knock. She couldn't risk even a few seconds of being in the hallway, where another Zeta could find her, and as soon as she was in Lorraine's room, she locked the door behind her. "I purposely took longer than two minutes, to give you time to lose the lingerie," she said as her way of greeting Lory, a smirk forming on her lips as she admired the real-life version of the texted image that Jade had sent her. She would pretend to complain about her still being clothed, but she couldn't dismiss the fact that Lory was definitely a sight to be seen.

Naomi didn't look in Jade's direction until the brunette was gone and her frown deepened. Not because she actually cared that three of her girls were leaving since she had already dismissed those who actually needed to go to class, but because...well, it didn't really matter. None of it really mattered and the fact that her mood had been this affected and all she said to Andre was "hello" was disgusting and pathetic. Nothing really new, though, some part of her brain taunted her and Naomi mentally rolled her eyes at her pity party. She was president of the illustrious Alpha Theta Pi and she was actually fucking moping about what exactly? A broken heart? She could be doing so many other things instead of being that sad...shopping...messing with her best friends...someone else...

At the thought of doing someone, Naomi quickly retrieved her phone again to text Lex. Considering she still saw the Thetas at their table, she surmised that the junior hadn't left yet and while some part of her knew that she would only be using her right now, another and more prominent part of her brain questioned why not? They had slept together several times before and it wasn't like she didn't like Lex, which was an entirely different headache that she couldn't face and she would rather screw the girl's brains out. Or make out...like really distractingly make out...followed by alcohol...lots and lots of alcohol...maybe she didn't even need to go to the stupid ass carnival. It had too many memories of her first time hanging out with Andre and Tamara and Chantal and just - no.

To: Lex
What I gotta do 2 convince u 2 b reckless w/ me?

"Start packing," she finally ordered the other Alphas and the girls who weren't distracted by speaking looked up, surprised by the command. When she took on the mantle of president during her junior year, Naomi had left a permanent mark on the girls that alerted them to the fact that she saw things to the end. It was her thing. It came from a desire to never leave a project unfinished and not being satisfied until she at least had the final product in her possession. But this was also a testament to her emotional status, which not all of the girls would be privy to. If she was her usual bubbly self, Naomi was someone to tip-toe around if you wanted to maintain your position and honestly, life. If she wasn't being that, it was even more imperative to not piss her off. And right now, there was a delicate thread that her voice alerted them to and everyone seemed on edge, so Naomi smiled. And if she found some sick fascination in having that kind of power over people, then sue her. She'd still be rich, to be honest. "Relax, I'm just dismissing you to go ahead and start cleaning up and go about your business. I want some down time before the carnival, you guys do too, and we did good for the day ladies. Not like we never have before because ummm, we're great," a few of the girls giggled at the return of her babbling and Naomi forced her smile to grow, "but alas, we've done what we can. We were here bright and early and there is a beautiful bottle of Domaine de la Romanée Conti Echézeaux that is calling my name and that none of you are even getting a whiff of. Now, chop chop!"

Lex had started talking to another bunch of freshman when her phone buzzed for the first time. She ignored it, continuing her conversation about the library and about how, yes, it really did had been named one of the best research libraries in the country. She handed them a bunch of pamphlets, said her goodbyes, and headed back to the table just as Priya arrived.

"Ehh, not much. Alphas are dramatic, Betas are obnoxious- the usual. There seems to be a decent bit of interest. We just need to make sure we don't end up in the shadow of the others," she replied, checking her phone and grinning at the text she'd missed. "Jesus, Priya, that addiction's getting out of hand. We'll have to stage an intervention before long," she said, grinning and jokingly shaking her head.

At their president's arrival, Lex nodded. "Yeah, everyone I've been talking to has seen genuinely interested in Theta. I got a good few pamphlets handed out, and a few people have been back a few times to ask more questions and so on. They seem like a nice bunch. One or two seemed like potential Alpha candidates, though," she called, before Annabelle appeared from nowhere and startled her a little.

"Girl, I was one of the most obnoxious freshmen known to humanity. But yeah, we didn't look twelve, that much I do know," she replied, scanning the crowd. On seeing familiar coloured hair, she waved a little, hoping Kara would spot her. She did, and made a beeline for Lex. Things had been quiet ever since she'd arrived, and then everyone seemed to want to talk to her at the same time. Not that she minded, but holding five different conversations at once was difficult. She excused herself, before picking up some more pamphlets, shoving her phone in between them, and edging her way out to Kara.

"Some of them are alright. You've just got to find them at the right time of day and hope that they haven't fought with their boyfriend in the past two weeks," Lex joked in response to Kara's question. "But, I have to admit, they throw a decent party. But if you looking for non-bitchiness, then," she spread her arms dramatically. "You know where to come. Just, you know, don't get in any debates with half the sorority. But you know that by now," she added, still grinning. Her phone buzzed, and she glanced at the screen. Naomi. Lex didn't even have to read the text to guess what it was, or even what it was looking for, but she still grinned up at Kara apologetically. "Sorry, gotta answer this," she said, quickly unlocking her phone.

She bit her lip as she read it, trying to keep her face as blank as possible. God, their relationship was so messed up. But at the offer, Lex couldn't bring herself to refuse. Everything was so complicated. Keeping things normal seemed like the best way to stopping them from getting worse.

To: Naomi
Buy me coffee at some point and I'm yours. Give me a time and a place and I'll make sure I'm there.

She grinned up at Kaa again, once again her usual smile on. "Sorry, had to be dealt with," she explained, glancing around and raising an eyebrow. Everyone else seemed to be packing up and leaving, so she cast a glance back at her own table. She was willing to bet that the others were going to start preparing for the party. And she kinda wanted to leave as well, but didn't want to abandon her sisters either.

Zan, after having a good cry, had gotten herself together. The first thing she did was pick up the broken frames and scoop them into a dustpan to be disposed of when she got back. She walked over to the mirror and and gazed at herself. She looked... sad and it kind of annoyed her. It wasn't the first time a man had let her down and it wouldn't be the last but it would be the last time she gave a guy that everybody told her was no good a chance.

She got her supplies to make her a sexy storm of anger and hurt and got to work. First she blew out her hair and curled the ends so it framed her face nicely. She skipped all the makeup and instead went for mascara and cherry lip balm. She slipped on some sexy expensive lingerie and pulled on a strapless blue top with white jeans that hugged her shapely behind more than some of her slinky dresses. On her feet she slipped on black heels and she wore a choker around her neck that was tied into a bow at the front. She sent a text out as she got her things together.

To: Naomi, Jade
We need to talk NOW

To: Hudson
I know you know. Who else does?

She slipped out of the door only to be met by Andre at the door. Part of her wanted to scream at him and hit him and part of her wanted to sob and have him hold her until the pain was gone but, besides the flash of hurt that appeared in her chocolate eyes when he called her stunning, she hid it well. All her life she had been the pretty one. The girl you want to keep on your arm. She wanted him to be different so bad.

She heard him talking but it was like she was drowning and everything was muffled. He took her hand and she let him and it felt so good then that she almost felt like she could ignore the fact that he was in love with Naomi; the fact that he hooked up with her best friend; the fact that everybody would know; the fact that he would never love her like he loved naomi; the fact that she would be humiliated, again.

"You mean a lot to me, Zan, in more ways than one. I want..." Her eyes flashed to his face, searching for something, anything to say that he was going to tell her the truth. But it wasn't there. "...to prove to you that I can be loyal, so we can start something here, something real. I'm going to stop sleeping with other girls, and I'm only focusing on you, Xanthe. I want to make this work, I want to make us work."

Her breath caught in her throat and she felt like somebody had physically hit her, it hurt so bad. She smiled sadly, She leaned in and kissed him gently on the lips, call it a parting gift. "I waited so long to hear that." She said before sliding her hand out of his, "But did you decide this after you hooked up with Kat or after you lied to me all summer?" She stood up and slid her purse of her arm , "Or maybe you decided this when you saw Naomi and realized you still loved her. So what am I your second pick? You can't have the queen so why not take the princess? That's what you love to call me right?"

Chantal listened to Lex with a growing smile on her face. She loved hearing that people were interested in their house. But she did chuckle when Lex talked about two possible Alpha candidates. The president scoffed with a smirk. "Oh please. Knowing Nomi, she probably sniffed 'em out the second they walked away from our table." Chantal was joking, of course. She adored Naomi but she did make her fair share amount of jokes at the house just like she did with Theta except she didn't let her sisters continuously tear down Naomi's house and girls. (No shade though) Chantal looked at her phone to answer the message from the Alpha President.

        To: Nomi
Well something happened to you.... But, lucky for you I'm amazing and I have wine for days and a bottle of Grey Goose with our names on it. It'll be a throwback to freshmen year babe!

When Annabelle showed up to the table, Chantal laughed at her question about the two being so nervous when they were rushing and if they all looked like children. When Lex said they didn't look twelve Chantal had to go for it. The sarcastic comment was too easy. "Yea, Lex. A pain in the ass then, a pain in the ass now and you two were a little underdeveloped when you guys were their age." One of the sophomores who was starting to set up, Poppy started to laugh before covering her mouth to stop her from snorting. A student from England who still wasn't used to be around so many snarky and sarcastic girls. "Talli, c'mon that was cruel." Chantal opened her mouth in defense. "Oh, c'mon! They know I'm kiddin'. 'Side look at their beautiful bodies and faces to match if I may say so myself." Poppy just chuckled as she packed up a box of now empty cupcake trays and serving trays. "Here let me help. The sooner was all get this stuff packed up the sooner we can get outta here." Chantal began removing to table covers and put them in their large trash bag they had under to table. Looking at their table the only things they needed to do was toss their garbage, take the sign down, and return their paisley printed letters back to where they belong, the chapter room in the Theta Chi house. Chantal reached for the sign seeing that she was the taller of all of her sisters and reached for one of her letters. "Pops, if you could toss that trash. That would be awesome. I'll take one of the letters back if one of you get the Chi. But, other than that what do you guys have planned until the carnival?"

Katherine didn't object to Andre's assumption that she was uncomfortable with their hookups and that they should stop. As the conversation had progressed, she had actually only grown more uncomfortable with the idea that he was sitting here, sharing his feelings with her. It was about her best friend, so it was understandable in that respect, but it became clearer now, that Kat appreciated Andre when they were drunk. When none of this feeling and emotions stuff started coming up, because not only was it something she didn't want to delve into with Andre, but with anyone, in general. Katherine wasn't ready to emotionally open herself up to anyone in that manner, and she felt uncomfortable with someone doing it to her, too. "Okay, well... good luck then," Katherine offered, and though it sounded unsure, she meant it genuinely. She took a few steps towards the stairs leading off of the porch before turning to him with a lighter smile. "Just know that if you screw this up, you're going to have the entire Alpha house ready to kill you," she teased, though it wasn't completely a joke. If Andre did manage to hurt Xanthe, especially knowing how into him she really was, he wouldn't get away with it. That was a fact, more than it was a joke.

As she walked back towards the Alpha house, she decided that it was easier to feel less guilty about everything, now. She had only made out with Andre on two occasions. On one, she had been close to blackout drunk, and on the other, she had been far less drunk, but still drunk. It didn't mean that it wasn't wrong, especially since she could still be flirty with Andre on completely sober ground, but now it was probably done for good, and she was fine with that. That was why no-strings-attached hookups were good and fine with her. She didn't need any emotional investment, especially if she wasn't even ready to take it very far physically. When she got into the Alpha house, she first stopped in her bedroom, where she changed out of her dress and into a sports bra and leggings. It wasn't a look that she would leave the house in, but she needed to be comfortable as she got ready for the comfortable, and once she had her face mask on, she knew it was much easier to relax in that attire, over a dress. She didn't notice that across the door, Xanthe's door was shut and she was in there, or else Katherine definitely would have went over to socialize, despite looking part-alien with the green face mask sealing away her skin. She didn't notice, however, and instead, opted to just relax in bed. She had some time before she needed to actually get dressed and ready for the carnival, and she wanted to treat her face for at least twenty minutes, anyway. As she pulled up Netflix on her computer, she sent out a couple of text messages to relieve her boredom.

Hudson could only shake his head and watch as Andre stormed off, but his smirk didn't falter, even slightly, when the box of takeout was shoved back into his arms. "Someone forgot to tell me that it was Valentine's 'time of the month'," Hudson scoffed playfully, as he turned back to the rest of the guys in the booth. Most of the bags from Red's were empty now, with guys finishing up at their respective tables. With a long glance to his left, he noticed that the Zeta and Sigma tents were slowly being shut down, and though Naomi was still manning hers, in a way that instantly brought a smile to Hudson's face, he figured that it would be time for the Betas to call it a day sooner than later, too. He acted unfazed by the heat, but wearing a suit outside in Miami for longer than necessary would become unbearable to anyone, and Hudson was no exception. Andre running off like a thirteen-year-old melodramatic girl who had just been told that there was no chance of Justin Bieber marrying her had put a damper on his mood too, though again, he didn't let it show. He knew that Andre invested himself into things that just weren't worth it, and that was fine, because everyone had their flaws, and his thing with Naomi was somewhat understandable. Somewhat in terms of Naomi being someone who even he would find to be hard to get over, but somewhat not when considering how long ago the pair had broken up, and how that whole breakup had went down. So yes, Hudson sympathized for Andre's situation more than he showed, but at the same time, he didn't feel guilty about being brash about it at this point. If the wounds had not healed already, they never were going to, and Andre was going to have to live with it without throwing an immature bitch fit every time Naomi came around.

"All right, Betas. We did good today, now let's get out of here. Any freshman who shows up this late isn't worth our time, anyway. Davenport, make sure that any tables and chairs we borrowed from the SGA find their way back to them. O'Reilly, deliver any extra steak to the Physics department's teacher lounge with a verbal notice that these are gifts from the Betas. I've got a class with Professor Bush this semester that I need to ace. Russo, oversee that there's not a single piece of trash left behind once everything's gone, and Carter, Jackson and Peterson, you take care of bringing anything else back to the house. The rest of you boys can go back to the house now. I was thinking that our pregame tonight would be Betas only, but since Andre's clearly acting like an Alpha today, maybe I'll invite a couple of them over, if I feel like bestowing them with the gift of our company."

Hudson was ready to leave as well, but he wasn't a bad President. He wasn't just going to stand there and look pretty, and he also wasn't going to leave and start his pregaming like he wanted to do. Instead, he began to help to dissemble their tent and hand off things to the other guys, to either be carried back to the house, or returned to the school, if it had been borrowed. With that many guys working on it, it didn't take long for the space that once held their booth to be spotless, and about twenty minutes after their cleanup process began, it was over. As he left the lawn with the last of the boys, he was tempted to leave Naomi with a parting remark, but after their back-and-forth earlier, he decided against it, in favor of recharging enough that he'd have something good for her later that night.

He had taken the extra Fulton University shirts that he had purchased from the bookstore, and was headed to Professor McAdams' office, who headed the community outreach club, in order to offer them to her as something the club could donate to the homeless on their next outing. On his way there, he received a text from Xanthe that caused him to raise an eyebrow. You wouldn't expect it from her sweet demeanor, but Xanthe could be a fiery little one. He wondered what her text was about, but genuinely had no idea, so he answered, and sticking to his famous "stir the pot" personality, he screenshotted it, and sent it to Naomi, along with some text.

To: Xanthe
Considering that I know everything, you're going to need to be a little bit more specific there, Little Red.

To: Naomi
And you think that I'm crazy for saying that your girls are obsessed with me, hmm?

She didn't answer Lorraine's question about how much longer they had together, because while she knew the answer was "not much longer" she didn't want that to be true. If there was one thing that was very true about the Zeta reputation, it was that they knew what they were doing in bed. Back in the Alpha house, they would attribute that to the fact that the Zeta girls were constantly moving from one guy's bed to the next, so them having experience should have been a given. However, here in Lorraine's bed, Jade couldn't even think to be that petty. She was feeling too grateful for how good Lory was and how nice and peaceful it was here, in her bed, and too relieved from any of the stress that had been bothering her lately. Of course, the moment that she rolled over for just long enough to check her phone, the stress came flooding back, because she read Xanthe's message about needing to talk to her and Naomi, and it seemed urgent. There was another message, one from Katherine, about wanting help with homework, but that one was too mundane to result in any extreme feelings. She rolled over, onto her stomach, and propped herself up with her elbows as she quickly sent a text back to the group chat.

To: Naomi, Xanthe
I'm omw back to the house as we speak

She wanted to send one privately to Xanthe, too, and tell her that if it was something that just she could handle, to follow up with Naomi and tell her that she didn't need her help, since Jade didn't want Naomi being bothered with anything unnecessary. However, she also knew that Zan wouldn't have requested to talk to Naya too, unless she actually needed both girls' attention and opinions, so she withheld the text, and instead, slipped out from underneath Lorraine's comforter. "I'm sorry, Lory, but I have to run. The girls... need me back, and you know that me being here this long already is asking for trouble." She smiled down at Lorraine apologetically as she scrambled for her clothes, which were now scattered around the floor of Lorraine's room. "But don't worry, you don't need to pretend like you hate me. Be true to the world, and show how much you love and honor the Alpha house. I'll keep on pretending that I hate you, but you acting like we're better than you won't be anything unusual," she insisted teasingly, her smirk growing more playful as she glanced back at Lory's face. With her dress zipped up, and her sandals slid onto her feet, Jade was ready to go, but she didn't leave without offering Lorraine a parting kiss, and one more apologetic smile, before saying, "I'll see you at the carnival." The urgency of Xanthe's text didn't even allow her to feel the need to send Lorraine out of the bedroom to do a "coast is clear" check, before Jade cracked it open, peeked out, and then scurried towards and out the back door.

Her heart didn't stop racing until she was a good distance from the Zeta house, to a point where there was no way of telling that that was the specific location she had come from. She got lucky, she warned herself, since as she headed towards the Alpha house, she passed more and more Zetas who were on their way back to their own house. If she had stayed, even just a few more minutes, it would have been that much harder to leave undetected. Luckily, the Alpha house wasn't far away, and that was especially true considering that the Tory Burch sandals her sister had sent her, insisting she wear with today's dress, were digging into the side of her feet in a way that promised a huge blister if they didn't come off in the next two minutes.

As she approached the back of the house, she answered Katherine's text, and another text to Xanthe and Naomi, as well.

To: Katherine
If it's homework that's due tomorrow, you're not going to the carnival until it's finished. Start doing it now, I'll get ready for the carnival quick and then come help you.

To: Naomi, Xanthe
Home, I'll be in my room if you girls need me?

Jade headed in through the back door and quickly made her way upstairs to her bedroom. It was one of the smaller rooms in the house, but that was by choice. As an upperclassman now, she could have taken one of the larger rooms, but the smaller rooms allowed for her portion of the housing fees to be smaller, and that was all she really cared about. Her bedroom offered her as much room as she needed, anyway, and when it came to her closet, it was probably actually more room than she needed. As she looked through her clothes rapidly, she knew that she wanted to wear something casual. However, her version of casual differed from the Alpha's version of casual, so she had to make a compromise, and chose an outfit that nearly completely consisted of hand-me-down items from her sister. While they were hand-me-downs, with the way that her sister shopped, most of those "hand-me-downs" had only been worn once, by the older girl, and a lot of them, not even at all, and only called hand-me-downs because she wanted an excuse to buy Jade clothes, to make her a proper Alpha, without seeming like that was directly what the clothes had been purchased for. She spent only two or three minutes brushing her hair out, again, and retouching her makeup slightly, since really, Jade didn't care about how perfect she looked that badly. The Miami heat meant that makeup and hair needed a slight touch up, but she wasn't going to worry about it, too much.

Naomi was panting when she officially pulled away from Lex, the need for air much more intense and harder to ignore than it had been some minutes before. Not that it mattered much because Naya could seriously dive back in and who the hell would blame her? Lex's mouth was sticky sweet and warm, the rich bitterness from the coffee Naomi managed to fetch still on the girl's tongue. Naomi hadn't hesitated in parting from her sisters with orders barked out to each individual before going about her own way. First, it was back to her car for the bag of clothes she had brought out of her sorority house in case she ended up - like she still planned to do - getting ready with Chantal. Then, to get the coffee for her very secret person and then here, where the only thing separating herself and Lex were the clothes Naomi really just wanted off, but that was just her being needy and impatient at the moment.

Breath still coming out quicker than normal due to their intense make-out, Naomi sat up from the girl lying in the bed, knees on either side of the Theta as she straddled her. A grin curved her lips lazily as she noted the disheveled hair fanning out on one of the pillows. She took in slightly darkened eyes that stared back at her, hot lust melting through the icy blue she was used to. She could see a small patch of pale skin from Lex's neck blooming a bruise and the self-satisfaction that thrummed through her riveted Naomi to her core, even as she faintly remembered that she wasn't supposed to leave any marks. "Told you I'd make it worth your while," she smugly exclaimed, running a hand through her own tousled hair while the other hand reached over to grab her incessantly vibrating phone.

Lex grinned up at Naomi, still panting a little. "Don't recall saying it wouldn't be," she replied. She knew that she should probably check her own phone- but honestly, she was enjoying her view. These moments were rare enough, so it was generally worth enjoying them while they lasted. It was only then that she became aware of the faint aching in her neck, and her hand immediately went to it. "Oh my god, you bitch," she said, genuinely shocked for a minute. But as she stared up at Naya, she was completely unable to stop herself from grinning again. "I am actually going to kill you one of these days, I swear to god," she sighed, running both hands down her face, but still grinning as she pulled them away. Naomi managed a distracted, but very pleased with herself smile, over her phone. She knew she would need to meet with Chantal soon; neither she or her fellow president liked being kept waiting for too long. But Hudson's text, followed by Xanthe's, were enough to keep her from giving all of her fucks to the wind in favor of being further distracted by the brunette underneath her. Or, at least she thought they were enough of a distraction until Lex's indignant cry.

"Hmmmm," Naya hummed thoughtfully, typing out a quick response to Hudson and point blankly ignoring Xanthe's demand for attention in favor of setting her phone aside. "But are you really complaining right now?" She held herself up, just for a moment, so that Lex could sit up more, and then comfortably settled on the girl's lap. She couldn't help the softer smile, the one that made her entire body relax, that formed on her face when Lex played with a curl that stubbornly refused to stay straightened. "You know, I really should get my revenge," the Theta commented idly. Naya's smile just made Lex's own smile widen. She knew that she was probably needed somewhere else, that she should probably be someone else- but damn, she knew that she didn't want to go. She knew in her heart of hearts that this wouldn't end well, that it was a messy situation- but she'd never liked anything to be simple, had she?

To: Hudson
keep me posted, if u can

Naomi knew that, for one, she shouldn't be here. The only Beta she had allowed herself to lay hands on was Kienen and that had been a bad idea, but this wasn't any better. This was more complicated, more trouble for herself and just plain more - a lot more than the travesty of her and other people. But two, she and Lex shouldn't be this damn comfortable and here they were. "Revenge away," she purred, her smile growing into a Cheshire grin and eyes glinting with a hint of a challenge. "But fair warning, I'm a really competitive bitch and this here...this is you declaring war and I don't care how distracting your hands are...I don't play fair." Lucky for her, Lex didn't always play fair either when they were like this and there was always a tried and true method in shutting Naomi's babbling. "You know me so well," Lex replied. "I never could resist a challenge," she added, before leaning in and kissing Naya again, pressing herself against the other girl. Her hands moved to Naya's hips, pulling her closer. Kissing Naya was like a drug - one that gave the best highs, that was stupidly addictive, that you didn't realize you were craving until you gave in. The withdrawals probably wouldn't be fun - but it was hard to focus on that right now. All she could think about was how she wished that time wasn't their limiting factor, how she wished she could just stop time right there and then and just stay in the moment of peace and happiness for hours.

Naomi giggled out a breathless moan against Lex's lips when the brunette surged up to kiss her, arms twining around the other's neck and fingers digging into soft dark brown strands to press her head forward, giving Naomi just the right leverage - and Lex aided in shifting Naomi's body even closer - to dominate the kiss, at least for now. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly given how well one knew her, she didn't always demand control in this aspect of her relationships. Much more fun this way. Plus, she liked challenging Lex in this arena, like when she would tug the other girl's luscious lower lip with her teeth slowly. Always a great response to that. So great of a response - thrilling too - that any of her wrong-no-stop faithfully turned into yes-God-more. Naya's immediate response to the kiss was enough to take some of her breath away, It was a stimulant like no other, making Lex almost hyper-aware of the energy in her nerves and of exactly how alive she was. Her body and mind were perfectly in sync, crying out for more, more, more. Naya's teeth on Lex's lower lip only increased the sensation, and Lex moaned a little as she did so. She broke away as Naya's phone vibrated, but moved to the other girl's neck, her lips skimming the gorgeous bronzed skin there. "Someone's in demand," she murmured playfully. "Then again, I expected nothing less from Madam President," she added, before kissing her neck properly. Naomi's rolled her eyes, breathing out a sigh - partly out of pleasure, but definitely out of frustration, as she retrieved her phone again, this time to see a message from Jade. She giggled out another sigh at the sucking pressure Lex applied to her skin.

"For a second there, I almost thought that sounded like respect, Pearson," she replied playfully, allowing herself to smirk as she rolled off of the brunette. As much as she would have rather continued what she was doing, she knew Chantal would kill her if she was dissed just for Naomi to have a little fun with one of her own. What she definitely knew was that she was not dealing with Xanthe and whatever the girl wanted from her. Not without alcohol in her system. Which was the reason why she messaged the two Alphas and then Chantal. "As much as I would rather be doing this because this is soooooo much more fun, not to mention pleasurable for the both of us, I apparently have to be a good friend," she stated and slid off of the bed. She wasn't leaving the Theta house, so she didn't bother to slide her sandals back on. Instead, she picked them and her bag up, glancing over her shoulder at Lex with a teasing glint in her eyes. "I would say try not to miss me too much, but we both know that would be just a bit too difficult for you." She should have left it at that because, umm wrong move Naomi, but she couldn't feel too bad when she ended up leaning over to peck Lex on the lips one more time before securing all of her things and slipping out the girl's door, texting her people as she went downstairs. More people would have required tact and while what she had with Lex was supposed to be a secret, Naomi also didn't feel the need to sneak. She was usually here for Chantal anyway, and she was headed to the house's living room where she usually met the other president.
