With this she enjoys wearing mostly a pair of black heels, if not a pair of wedges she swaps from her foster mother. But, sometimes she does let her guard down, mostly on the weekend when she's forced to dress 'decently' around her family for which she is forced to wear nothing tight, nothing sexy, and nothing over modern. Meaning, she's mostly told to wear floral and lightly colored dresses that belonged to Natalia before she got work done. And with this said, they don't allow her to wear hear wedges around them, just flats... But, that doesn't mean she listens to them 100%. Why? Angelina-Liliana Ariana-Francesca Etxeberria-Rivera hasn't always been the way she is now, but to be completely honest she can't remember much of herself before the point of her junior year... Angelina was born in the city of Havana, Cuba to a young sixteen year old girl named Francesca and her older boy friend, Santiago who was twenty one at the time. From the beginning, they never had the approval of their loved ones around them and having a child only made the division between the couple and their families wider. Both came from great and wealthy families and wanted them to lose or hide their child to protect both of their families' reputations in the city and even in the rest of the country. And when they refused, they were cut off to take care of their newborn, Angelina on their own. It was rough the first three years of the young Angel's life, but once she turned four. Her father was given a rather good position in a growing company. The pay was amazing and it made it enough for the couple to finally be able to do what they dreamed of doing together, they were about to least their home out to people while them and their daughter traveled the world.
Her life was amazing, she was an only child seeing that her mother was unable to have another child but, she wasn't lonely. She made friends and connections all over the world even at a young age. On the surface and in Angel's young eyes everything seemed perfect. And by the time she was in high school, everything had fallen into place. She was an incoming freshmen; beautiful, confident, rich, popular, you name it, she was it. Sure she was a bitch, but she had the shit to back it up. Around her sophomore year, things in her house began changing. She could feel it. Her mother and father were much more secretive and often stopped talking whenever their daughter came in a room, thinking she didn't hear them. They were more reluctant on letting her come into either of their offices, and they even refused to let her talk to most if not all of their coworkers. And, when she finally asked them about it. They told her that nothing was going on. And, since they never gave her a reason to not trust them, she believed them wholeheartedly. That is, before she was called down to the main office during her lunch period only to see three policemen there waiting. Now, you see. Angel never did anything bad before her turning point. She didn't drink, she didn't smoke, sure she partied but that was it. So why were three big policemen telling her to get in the car? But, it all became clear when they escorted her into a room where she saw her parents handcuffed and in orange jumpsuits. They finally told her everything. They, along with the rest of her father's 'company' had been fraud and money laundering. Which together can hold a sentence to twenty one years. This completely changed their little girl, well it was the start of the downward spiral. Months went by and everything was building up. Press would ambush Angel everywhere asking her questions from; "Was she a part of it?", "Does she believe that her parents really did it?", and of course "Why do you think they did it?". On top of the press, the attention at school was much less delightful esp. from those who's families' gave her parents' company money. Money that they were never going to get back.
And when all was said and done they summer before her junior year, her parents were sentenced. Her father to twenty years and her mother to seven. And Angel wasn't really there to see it. Fran and Santiago didn't want her to see her parents taken away in handcuffs in person. The last real conversation they had in person was her parents begging for forgiveness and wanting her, no matter what to continue living and wanting her dream. Even if they couldn't be in the front row. In July, since Angelina didn't have any family that she could move into, she was moved into a group home with five other kids all who have had shitty luck as well. During this time, Ariana refused to go by her first name as she finally decided to change herself to who made herself to believe to be her 'real' self. She changed everything about herself that summer; her clothing, hair, car (Mostly because she couldn't afford it anymore), and of course herself. She somewhat left her friends and teammates as she decided to try and new cliche. One of the more... unsavory cliches known as the Animals.
