Kurtis had a big grin on his face as he exited his trailer and headed towards backstage to drop the box of things he was carrying. He was going to have quite a bit of fun at tonights performance, but he knew that he would have to watch himself and not get too excited. The last time Kurtis was really excited for a show, he sawed a lady in half and refused to put her back together until he sawed her into 9 different pieces. Needless to say, many people were very unnerved, and he was pretty sure the RingMaster wasn't happy about it. Never the less, he had a wonderful show lined up tonight, and he was dressed for the part. He put on a black and white striped top hat, with jacket and pants to match with the pinstripe theme. This was his a little more eccentric look, since looking like a warlock in the middle of nowhere wasn't the most appealing. Now a guy that looked like he had a stripe complex, that was interesting, at least to him anyway.
He dropped all of his equipment off, which included 2 swords (No stabbing this time! Phew...) and a very large, venomous spider. And that was just for the opening. Then he had some fruit, his classic saw and sawcut box, his shrinking box and he even felt like bringing out his silhouette moon (light is cast on it, and the person behind looks like a shadow.) He was so giddy for tonight's performance, he didn't even badmouth a single person, make any wise cracks or even taunt the clowns while he was there. That was rare.
He then, breaking the protocol of not showing an actors face before the performance, proceeded through the main tent (the big one where everybody is sitting, if you weren't sure) towards the main gate where the Ticketmaster was standing. He had two reasons, really, for going to the entrance. The first was to scout out possible people he could ask to go on stage. He didn't want to be unprepared, and just ask any random person, No, he had to pick a variety of people, some that looked like extreme logical people, while others he needed people about his own age or younger that were still amazed by illusions. The second reason was to ask the Ticket master a series of serious questions. The first was about that Cadenza character, which Kurtis was getting bad vibes off of, and the second was mandatory for him:
He had to ask how graphic he was allowed to go ever since that incident, which had been quoted earlier. Ever since then, he had to ask how violent and graphic he could go, and even how illegal he was allowed to be. It was a real pain in the ass, but he had to, since his levels of giddiness sometimes exceeded the legal limit, which ended him doing something... illegal. You know, fraud, kidnapping - wasn't his fault the last time he made somebody disappear, they were really snotty - the works.
He passed a teen girl whom he had heard of before, and instantly picked her for one of his acts, and then passed a two teenagers (they would be Kaylee and Sara.) who seemed very enthusiastic. A small smile crept to his lips and he remembered their faces for later. He finally made his way to the Ticketmaster, and tipped his top hat to him before asking in a dull question, which he had to say quietly enough that the crowds couldn't hear him "So, how graphic am I allowed to go tonight? Are there a bunch of 4 year olds like that last time which I will apparently 'scar for life'?" His tone was so bored, he almost felt himself getting tired.
