ImageFor the most part of the night Ruby had been tossing and turning trying to get comfortable in this new place. It wasn’t that it was disgusting or in any way horrible it was simply because she never could sleep well the first night no matter where she was, a friends house, her parents. The place didn’t matter there was just always something that kept her up. In this case it was a small clicking sound coming from the corner of the room. After a long, and stressful, twenty minutes of extreme looking she determined that the little annoying sound was coming from the smoke detector every time the damn thing blinked. She tried to getting to stop but eventually gave up in a huff.

It was around six thirty in the morning and she had her head dangling off the bed flipping through the channels trying to do her best to drown out the annoying click. Ruby managed to get around five sporadic hours of sleep in total due to the annoyance. She was halfway through a show about kangaroos when the television went static. “No.” She rolled to her stomach dropping the remote to the floor.

Sliding off the bed she opened up the curtains letting in the sun. She was on the second floor and looking down spotted the pool and for a moment was debating whether or not she wanted to go for a swim but quickly pushed the thought away when her stomach growled. “Room service it is.” She wasn’t in the mood to leave her room and grabbed the menu from table side desk and plopped on the bed with a huff hardly noticing the television change from the static screen to an outside picture of the resort. Placing the phone to her head there was no dial tone. After clicking a combination of buttons there was still no sound. Frustrated she slammed down the phone and left her room. It was less than pleasant.

It was dark and there were absolutely no lights except if you count the light from the windows at the end of the halls. For a moment Ruby thought about returning back to the room but her stomach had other thoughts. Halfway down the hall she froze as three sirens went off forcing her hands to her ears. “What. The. Fuck.”

Image The ringing of the sirens pierced the silent existence of room 217. Initially, Maria was sprawled across the hotel bed with the covers strewn all about. She was always a restless sleeper. After the sirens though, Maria bolted up to a sitting position. The groggy figure climbed out of bed and made her way towards the windows.

Some fucking resort...

Maria stepped over to the phone to demand some explanation but the lack of a dial tone quickly threw her off. She became less angry and more confused. It was time to go to the front desk and get some answers. Maria shed her nightgown and put on some sweats and a loose fitting top and began to head out.

ImageJimmy laid in his bed thinking about the week to come. His manager told him that he needed this vacation, he was reluctant to go at first but he was beginning to unclench. A couple more of the contest winners were roomed near him, it was kind of strange that they didn't have all of the rooms together. He didn't know any of them but one of them was a blonde woman and the other with darker hair. and Jimmy had got himself up and went to the gym. It seemed kind of strange that he didn't see a single person on his way there or anyone in the gym itself. "Hello? " He said loudly to see if anyone was in the now assumed empty workout space. It was about six o clock when he started jogging on the treadmill. After about 15 minutes he stopped and started jump roping. A few hundred rotations later three sirens blasted through the recreation area. Dropping the jump rope to cover his ears, Jimmy looked around for the source of the noise. "What the fuck......" He said as the noise ended as quickly as it came.

Hearing the door open Jimmy turned around. A strange looking man stood there with smirk on his face. Jimmy was definitely getting bad vibes from this newcomer. "Do you work here?" He said cautiously. The man just smiled, then quickly brandished a knife and charged at Jimmy. Easily dodging the lunge Jimmy put the guy into a headlock and forced him to drop the knife. They tussled a bit until the guy backed Jimmy into a large mirror, breaking his hold on the perpetrator. There was no holding back, Jimmy was now sure this was a kill or be killed scenario. Both of them stood up and Jimmy raised his fists. the man took a few swings and Jimmy returned with few right hooks. They were both now bleeding, the perpetrator a lot more so than Jimmy. The guy took one last lunge at Jimmy and met an uppercut to the jaw. He was down. "What the fuck is going on here?" Jimmy said angrily. As he turned around to leave he heard the guy yet again charging at him. Thinking quickly, Jimmy grabbed a nearby 25 lb dumb bell and whipped around. The solid steel dumbbell met the man's right temple just in time, with a sickening thud. The man yelped and fell to the ground with what could only be a very fractured skull. Jimmy left the gym in a hurry to see if he could find someone, anyone at all. Eventually he wound up in his hallway. The woman with darker hair was now out and standing looking just as confused as he was. "Hey what the fuck is going on here?" He said concerned.

Julia sat at her desk, fingers rapidly typing into the keyboard of her laptop. The screen lit up her face in an eerie, bluish glow, and her eyebrows furrowed as she read over the words, only to press hard on the backspace button, erasing the message. Mackenzie had been so proud to come up with the idea of Julia writing a blog whilst away on her travels, but what had at first seemed like a wonderful thought had fizzled out into a burden. What to write about? There was only so much that she could say about the pretty scenery. Aside from the nice landscape, Julia had seen nothing else to attract her interest. Aside from the other competition winners and the hotel staff, she hadn't actually seen anyone. She knew that the island was supposed to be rather secluded, but really? How was she supposed to write an intriguing piece about the Island's culture when there was absolutely no culture to speak of? Julia sighed, closing the lid of her laptop and placing her head in her hands. "Just enjoy it." She sighed to herself, her eyes slowly closing.

Julia woke up very suddenly at her desk, her eyes snapping open as her slumber was shattered by the blare of an alarm. "What the-?" She glanced at the clock on beside her. 6:45 AM. She stood up, her back slightly sore from sleeping in a sitting position. She clamped her hands to her ears in an attempt to drown out the siren.

A loud knock sounded at the door, and Julia sighed in relief before moving to open it. "Ah, hi... What's going on? Is there a fire or something?" She looked up at what she assumed would be a member of the hotel staff, only for her gaze to be met by a middle-aged man with a clean-shaven face and, most notably, a knife in his hand. Julia's eyes widened, and in a split second, she tried to slam the door shut. His leather-clad foot barred the door's closing, and he pounded against the door, pushing her back. "Who are you? What do you want?!" He walked towards her, a small smile on his face as he brandished the blade. Julia stepped back, eyes wide with fear. "Get out! What are you-?!" He lunged towards her, and Julia let out a small scream, leaping aside as to avoid being stabbed. As he moved to follow her, she grabbed the thing nearest to her -the desk lamp- and swung it hard at his head. The bulb shattered on his face, causing him to swear profusely, rubbing at the shards nearest his eyes. Julia then spun around, running out the door. "Oy! Get back here, you bitch!" She heard him yell after her, only for her to grab the desk chair as she left the room, slamming the door closed and jimmying the chair under the handle. The door rattled as her attacker tried in vain to open it, and she stepped back, hands shuddering, her voice barely a whisper. "What the hell is going on?"

Image After the alarms went off Ruby headed down the hallway figuring she would head to the main desk to maybe get some answers about the total bullshit that was going on. However after only a couple of steps a man stepped out from the staircase. She recognized him from yesterday they had arrived at the same time and she was pretty sure he had a room next to hers.

“Hey, what the fuck is going on?”

Ruby couldn’t help but look at him completely dumbfounded. “Your heads bleeding.” She pointed out, it wasn’t like a gash or in any need of medical attention but nothing else had come to mind at the time. ”Um,” She put her hand up realizing she hadn’t actually answered his question. ”I mean, I don’t know well. Although you should probably stop that bleeding. Cut on the head, lots of blood vessels...” She dragged on at the end as she stopped herself from rambling on. The slam of a door took her attention next as she turned around to see another woman barricade her door. ”What is happening? Why is your door shaking.” She finished as another door opened up revealing another one of the resort goers. "Well I doubt you have any idea what's happening." she spoke to the new woman.

ImageDylan woke up at six o’clock after sleeping the entire time since he got to the island. The boat ride over was more of a car ride down a bumpy mountain and left him feeling rather sick and not in the mood to do much of anything that first day.
As he stood to his feet he cracked his knuckles and headed to the bathroom. He was still not feeling one hundred percent but it seemed like polar opposites when compared to yesterday. He took a couple of aspirins and washed his face with a wet cloth. Leaving the room he slid on his shoes and his black zip up sweater and left his room for the dining hall. The walk there was rather sketchy as almost all the lights seemed to be out. Except for a select few at the ends of each hall but he managed to simply shrug it off thinking perhaps someone flipped the switches and no one put them back on. It was early in the morning and seemed like a pretty good reason.

Making his way past the main hall he started to get a creeping feeling that something was going on. There was no one to be seen. However he went back to the reason being it was early and maybe he just happened to get there when someone just left. A rather shitty excuse but he wasn’t asking any questions.

Dylan entered the dining room which had the window curtains fully drawn and was letting in the beginning of sunlight, granted it wasn’t a whole bunch. He grabbed a cup from the serving table and poured himself a cup of coffee. Something was off though and sticking a finger in the cup revealed that it was cold, almost freezing. “Fucking great.” He moaned placing the cup back down on the table. All he wanted was a quick wake up that he hoped would be his morning coffee but instead was three louder than life alarm bells going off and he must have been directly underneath one as it damn near deafened him.
It took him a minute before his ears stopped ringing and the sound of a door grabbed his attention. A man came out of the kitchen and figuring he was one of the workers he called out to him. “Hey man what’s with those fuck off alarms? You guys start a fire in there or something.”

“Or something.” The man said with a smirk.

”What do you mean ‘or someth-” Before he could finish his sentence a knife was imbedded into the wall he was standing behind.”What the fuck.” He looked at the man again who was brandishing another knife and winding up. ”Shit.” He managed to utter before taking off in the opposite direction. Taking the first set of stairs of he took off down the hallway only looking back for a second as he rounded the corner running directly into the back of another man and falling backwards to the ground. “Oh shit.” He looked up at the man who lucky was in a group with several others that seemed to have no idea what was happening either.

Samara had just been given a week break from work. And she had decided with all the hard earned cash she had saved and put away she would use a little from Hamilton Airport to go to The Island that was highly recommended. She was at the moment in her hous packing her suitcases. She was bringing some important stuff. Her laptop, camera, jeans, dresses, tops, jackets and bathing suits, swimming gear. She was really excited for this trip since she needed a break from work and life. She had life before her and she wasn't going to sit around not using it. She was going to grasp it and live it.

She just finished packing all her suitcases She was wearing a grey top and some black pants and some shoes that clashed well with the outfit. She grabbed all her suitcases and packed the car up.

She drove to the airport and got her tickets and passport in hand. She boarded the plane and sat down in peace. She wasn't much of a stay-awake-plane-flyer so she normally fell asleep while the plane moved. And luckily she did the entire flight. She was exhausted and was quite happy she got some well deserved rest.

When they got to the Island she grabbed her bags and went to the hotel. She went to the front desk and went to her bedroom. She was very happy that she got there, in one piece. She jumped on the bed and went back to sleep.

ImageJimmy, looked at her, now realizing that he was bleeding. "Oh yeah, I'm used to to that. " He said. He got injuries like that a lot being a boxer, they didn't really bother him all that much anymore. Just then the blonde girl who was rooming next to them came racing out of her room. Having quickly barred her door with a chair. "I assume there's another killer in there?" He said to her. Just then a new person came up from behind him. Whipping around ready to fight again, Jimmy realized it was another confused tenant just like them.

The blonde girls door was now violently beginning to rattle. "That's not gonna hold him forever" He said to her. Now noticing that they had all kind of gathered near his door. He opened it and stepped in. " I recommend that you guys come in and we can figure out a plan. " His shirt now had blood on it and had intended to change it. After cautiously checking the bathroom, he confirmed his room was empty. Throwing off his now ruined shirt he went over to his bag he grabbed a new t shirt. It was just a plain black shirt. After doing that, He looked to them. "Does anybody have any idea what the fuck is going on here? He said to the crowd.

Julia's door shuddered as the man on the other side shoulder barged it. The chair creaked beneath the pressure, its wooden legs bending slightly as they threatened to break.

"Upon hearing a new voice, her head snapped to the side to face the speaker, terrified it might be another psychopath. But instead, it was a red-headed girl that spoke to her. After a brief second, Julia recognized her as one of the other guests. ”What is happening? Why is your door shaking?” Julia just shook her head, trying to stutter out a reply, "Guy.. with a knife... he.."

"I assume there's another killer in there?" Another voice joined them, and Julia turned to see another one of the guests. Her eyes widened when she saw the blood that stained his head. Julia found herself lost for words, and so the man said coolly, "That's not gonna hold him forever." She glanced back at the door, which pounded again, as if on queue. The man suggested figuring out a plan, and so, eager to escape the lunatic currently trying to escape her room, Julia stumbled after the group of guests.

Image barely took a few steps outside her room before noticing three other guests, one covered in blood and another completely panicked. The blonde had a right to be panicked though as she was visibly trying to bar the door shut with a chair--a chair that was starting to collapse after repeated blows from inside her room. The man with the blood on him seemed to try to take charge of the situation. He seemed capable, but he was bleeding from the forehead.

This is quite the clusterfuck.

Maria recognized these folks from the cruise over to the Island and figured that all the guests could be in serious danger. In the confusion, she managed to pick out the words "knife," "killer," and "fuck." It didn't take much assessment for her to decide that she would help the others in any way she could. Spotting a fire extinguisher in its case on the wall, Maria moved over and grabbed it before following the rest of the group into the room.

"Hey," she shouted. "When we're ready to confront him, I'll spray him. That should disorient him long enough for Conan here to take care of him."

ImageDylan watched as the chair bent and cracked from the force behind the door but couldn’t help but think if the one that was chasing him was still on his trail. Before he could mention the potential of the second attacker the brute he had run into directed everyone into his room, and why not? The guy looked like he could take someone on. He even looked like he had just been in a fight too.

Scrambling to his feet he followed the small group and listened as a plan was set out. It was solid enough yet he highly doubted that they would simply get off that easy although it was still a good chance. And to think he was hoping it would be another boring gig.

“I’ll get his back if there’s any other lunatics out there.” Dylan was capable although he was definitely more of a scrapper than a heavy hitter. Failing to fully mention that he may or may not have led another to them, of course he never actually thought he would run into any one else while he was trying to get back to his room. Especially this early regardless of the alarm.

ImageRuby followed the others into the guys room along with the rest of the small group that had formed. She still wasn’t entirely sure what was going on but wasn’t about to stay like a deer in headlights when someone mentions a killer. She stood in the back and listened as the other woman readied a fire extinguisher. She stood back and let the man take charge, she truly didn’t want to have anything to do with leading anyone, she hated the thought. She didn’t hate many things in life but she could say that one of the top things on her list was leading anyone, hell anything. No matter the task.

”So what, are we gonna do a countdown or something?” Her curiosity pinged as everyone else was getting ready.
