Image

Prince Cornelius Waldau, third of his name, is the Uncle and advisor of King Edmund Waldau, fourth of his name. The Forty year old Prince was the brother of the late King Caspian Waldau, second of his name, and the brother-in-law of Queen Zirva I Waldau. Cornelius is incredibly loyal to his family, his King and his Kingdom...but under his skin he is a treacherous snake, and showed King Henry of Gamorra exactly where King Caspian was heading, and watched with a smile as the Arcadian King's head was thrown from his body. Unfortunately for Cornelius, the Arcadians won the war and killed King Henry, leaving Prince Edmund to take the throne of Arcadia, a throne that was promised to him by King Henry if the war was won. Cornelius is currently the Battlemaster of Arcadia, and is always trying to find the perfect time to strike down King Edmund and proclaim himself King.

So begins...

A Royal Arcadian horn sounded off in the distance, signalling the arrival of the Arcadian Royal Family; The Waldaus. Townsfolk collected in the town square, led by Prince Cornelius III Waldau, who had been reigning over the Kingdom whilst Edmund was away, traveling around his Kingdom after the declaration of a treaty between Arcadia and Gamorra. Cornelius stood ahead of the crowd as the Royal Guard rode into the town square, circling the marble water fountain as the Flagbearer approached the water fountain, closely followed by King Edmund and his Personal Bodyguard. Edmund removed his helmet and revealed the long, black hair and finely chiseled jawline, which rested a finely-trimmed, full beard. The King's clothes were hidden beneath armour made of fine-steel plates, molded together and his initials and some lucky symbols chiseled into the steel. He dismounted his horse and watched as Prince Cornelius, the Flagbearer and his Royal Guard all knelt towards him.

"Rise all," Edmund said, beckoning for Cornelius to rise first, which his Uncle did. Edmund chuckled and unstrapped his gauntlets, before handing them to his Flagbearer and beginning to walk through the parting in the crowd, which had been made by the townsfolk themselves out of respect for their King. Cornelius walked ahead of Edmund until they passed through the crowd, from which he fell back to walking next to his nephew and King.

"How did the journey go?" Cornelius asked, holding the top of his longsword as it rattled around in his red-leather sheath. He was getting on in the world, and would probably never sit in the throne as the true King, but it only troubled him on the inside.

"You don't need to worry about that, Uncle." Edmund replied, heading into the Castle, unstrapping his breastplate and boots, before handing them to the Flagbearer also, revealing a long, crimson robe with gold symbols and a black undershirt.
"All you need to worry about is organizing a meal between the Gamorrans and us."

"Whatever for, Edmund? We've signed a peace treaty with them, it doesn't mean anything." Cornelius replied, taking his council seat next to the throne as Edmund did the same, taking his greaves off and handing them to the nearby maid, who had been gifted with the rest of the King's armour from the Flagbearer.

"Cornelius, we must celebrate the first time of peace between our two Kingdoms in over 100 years!" Edmund replied, leaning his elbow on the arm of his throne and taking his crown.
"Plus, it's time we had a feast in this hall."

King Edmund IV Waldau sat upon his Iron Throne, his feet resting upon the left arm of his throne, awaiting the news about his offer for a feast. Edmund's left hand was resting upon his steel sword, which was digging into the stone floor of Castle Arcadia. As the Gamorran messenger pushed open the doors to the Throne room, flanked by the Arcadian Royal Guard and Prince Cornelius. The Messenger knelt at the foot of Edmund's throne, who beckoned him to rise without looking at him, before lifting the steel sword onto his lap and running his palm over the blade.

"AnnaBeth sent you?" Edmund asked, looking down at the messenger. Edmund and the rest of Arcadia knew the young King was cocky and big for his boots, but the civilians knew that the King had been spoiled from a young age, and knew that their King would put his cockiness aside on the battlefield.

"Yes, your grace." The messenger replied, handing Edmund a scroll. "She has already started her plans and is bringing her entire guard and her family."

"Excellent! Get this man a prize, Cornelius! Preferably something cheap." Edmund cried, hopping up from his throne and catching his steel sword by the handle as it was thrown from his lap, before swinging it around in glee.
