Airports were one of Eoin’s favorite places to be. The anonymity that they gave him, the blank stares and bored faces of the staff made him feel immeasurably great. It meant he was in a new place, a new location where no one knew who he was or what he did. Arriving in Amsterdam with nothing more than his duffle and guitar filled his lungs with thrilling ecstasy.

Eoin had learned to travel minimally when he backpacked through the world. A worn duffle packed with two pairs of pants, a few shirts, and a week’s worth of underwear (the only thing he would never sacrifice), and his most essential toiletries always made his passage through TSA a breeze. He handed the customs agent his passport. The man asked him the purpose of his visit.
Work.

His visa? All set.

Place of residence for the time of his stay. Who will be vouching for him? What’s in the big case?

Eoin went through the motions, smiling easily, his weight balanced on his heels. He thought about flirting with the man, but the grunt in his voice indicated that it would be more trouble than it was worth.

The Airbnb he’d found was comfortable. A studio with a kitchenette and a nice view of the town. The sheer white curtains swayed in the soft summer breeze. He kicked his boots off, sliding off his socks. The hardwood floor was cold, smooth and thrilling against his skin. His phone rang.

Eoin laughed at the sound. He could imagine his bandmates up in NYC to a missing lead singer. He could picture Stevie’s wide eyes as he wandered from room to room looking for him. He could see Erin cursing up a storm as she made phone calls; as she called him.

He could pick up. He could be kind and tell them where he had taken off to. But where was the fun in that?

His Instagram Live lasted thirty minutes. In it, he gave the time of day and the weather, then he played part of a song he had written on the plane. He saw Erin’s username on his screen, saw Stevie bombard him with questions. Their fans laughed, saying things like “Oh! He ran away!” and “They can’t find him again lol.”

Eoin could share his location. He could let his bandmates meet up with him or drag him back home. But he needed some time. He wanted to wander the city on his own for a while. His feet itched to go out, to blaze a trail they’d never been on before without anyone holding him back. His father called this his nomad urges. His mother said he was a wild, free spirit that longed to learn. Eoin just wanted to get the fuck out and do something on his own.

There really wasn’t anything much more to it than that.

They’re supposed to be leaving for tour in two days. Two fucking days. That was all he needed from Eoin. To stay put for two days.

He’s got one shoe on and not even a sock on the other foot, his pants are unbuttoned, his shirt is gone, and his hair is a mess. There’s a bottle of Jack between his teeth and a phone pressed between his ear and his shoulder while he glares at the fucking classic coffee machine Eoin made them get instead of the Kurieg Stevie wanted. It’s goddamn rocket science to make it work and he’s too hungover for that shit.

He tells Siri to call again. He’s got hickies across his hip bone which is a shame because he can’t really remember last night but there was definitely a pool involved at some point. What he does remember is Eoin was home when he stumbled in, and gone when Rin woke him.

Stevie threw his phone down when it went to voicemail again and pulled the bottle from his mouth before shouting “Rin!” He saw her cross the apartment and throw her hands in the air. So Eoin wasn’t answering her either. At least it wasn’t some personal vendetta against Stevie. She also wasn’t coming into the kitchen, which meant she wasn’t going to save him from the damned coffee machine.

“Fuck it,” he grumbled, pushed the thing away, and took a few deep gulps of whiskey as he picked up his phone again. He’d just pulled up Instagram when Eoin’s ridiculous username flashed across the screen stating he’d gone live. He gives him a few minutes of not saying where he is (although the dark sky in the window at his side says it’s not New York, because the sun hadn’t set yet at home) before he tags Dua in it asking if she can believe this shit.

Two days. That was all he fucking needed. Eoin was the leader of LSM, not Stevie. He didn’t have his shit together enough to keep the other two shits together.

He crosses the livingroom in a few quick steps and falls on the couch on top of Kasper, who groans under the brunt of his weight, but he ignores it and buries his face in his friend's neck instead. “Eoin took off. Wanna overdose in his bed to get back at him?"

The Drummer for LSOM | Outfitx|x#800000
Erin didn't remember much after they arrived in New York, whether it was due to her slight intoxication or not, she didn't really care. They had managed to get a nice place to stay and that's all she cared about. She knew it was typically against band rules to let her groupies stay with them, but seeing as they'd be needing some people for the festival, and Erin didn't want to be staying with the guys for this long of a period alone, she ended up kidnapping one of her best friends, Hailee. They were already planning to meet up for the festival, but plans changed last minute and she ended up staying with them instead. It helped Erin not only not lose her mind with the guys, but she was a presence she could genuinely relax around and find comfort in. So, when she woke up, to find the other blonde woman asleep in her bed, Erin easily slipped out and let Hailee continue to sleep a little bit longer. There was no point in waking her up just yet.

Erin got dressed and left her room, and immediately knew something was off. She was allowed to sleep without an issue. That was her first immediate clue something wasn't right. She checked Eoin's room, and he wasn't there, as she went to go check on the other's, she could hear Stevie's rapid shuffling about the rest of the apartment and immediately knew what that meant. And not too shortly after she heard him call out for her, sliding across the hardwood floor, she tossed her arms up in the "I don't know either" gesture before speaking, "Fuck if I know where he is. But I do know, I'm about to kill his ass." she groaned, retrieving her phone from her back pocket as she began to call him time and time again. "Hey fucker, it's me, again. Pick up your god damn fucking phone, you useless piece of shit." she groaned into the speaker before hanging up. Tossing her phone onto the couch. "I swear, one of these days, Stevie. I'm just gonna snap and kill all three of you. Okay but where's Kas-" she began, to see him passed out on the couch, "Well, nevermind. Found him." she mumbled, and quickly turned away. Not caring if he had a pulse or not.

Erin took her phone off the couch as she left and checked instagram, seeing that Eoin was online and in a god damn stream. "This mother fucker is trying to kill me, I swear." she said aloud as she looked through the fridge with the stream playing in the backround. There was next to no food in the fridge, meaning she'd have to call some in. Great. She picked her phone back up and sent several messages in the streams chat, mostly grilling Eoin on ditching them in NY and asking where he was so she knew where to go to beat his ass. Which only garnered their fans enjoyment in the chat, as well as Eoin being the vague little asshole that he was. She sneered at her phone before leaving the stream and dialed up one of the local chinese places down the street, and ordered in some food which surprisingly didn't take very long as she heard a knock on the door barely thirty minutes later.

Erin answered the door, tipped the delivery guy forty bucks, took the food and closed the door. She plopped the deliivery bag on the counter-top in the kitchen, taking out two different meals, which consisted of two boxes of fried rice, noodles, and chicken and sauce. She picked up the bag and made her way over to Stevie and Kasper, "Remember that you assholes love me. I got you dickheads food." she grumbled, still barely half awake and handed the guys the bag which contained a still decent amount of food boxes and containers. She picked up the containers she placed on the counter-top and made her way back to the bedroom, but not before getting a few beers out of the fridge. Closing the door behind her with her foot, Erin made her way over to the bed, placing the food on the bedside table. She turned to the woman who was somehow still asleep and smirked, gentle shaking her shoulder, "Morning, sleepy-head. Got some food, and Eoin apparently dipped to god knows where, so...Yeah. That's how this day is going. As if things couldn't be any fuckin' worse." she mumbled, grabbing the food and passed it to Hailee. Who simply smiled as she watched her friend climb back into bed. "I mean, it's Eoin. What do you expect?" Hailee joked.

Erin rolled her eyes as she was passed her portion of the food, "I don't know anymore, honestly. Maybe less of an ass?" she questioned, before taking a few bites of her food. "But I do know, that we have two god damn days before we leave for this damn festival, and if he makes it any harder than it has to be, I may actually kill him this time." Erin stated plainly with a mouthful of food. Hailee chuckled as she turned to look at Erin, and gently kissed the platinum blonde on the cheek, "Oh please. You've threatened to kill him and the other boys countless times. I'm finally starting to question your commitment, Erin." she chuckled. Erin rolled her eyes as a sigh escaped her lips, "You're one to talk. You've threatened to kill me countless times." Erin mumbled between mouth-fulls of noodles and chicken. Hailee couldn't help but allow a grin to form on her face as she ate silently. Erin raised an eyebrow in question, before her eyes widened. "You're fucking disgusting!" Erin exclaimed, playfully pushing Hailee over. "Oh please. Not like you weren't thinking the same thing, Erin." Erin rolled her eyes as she shook her head, "it's a good thing I like you. Now just, fucking eat the food I got you, we got shit to do today, until Eoin who...where who the fuck knows he is, is making us handle alone. Asshole." They still had two days to figure shit out until they headed out for this festival. They had time to figure shit out, as well as find their band leader....Right?

ImageHe supposed he couldn't hold anyone accountable for this breakup, though it probably could have gone better. He'd been so excited about touring in Europe, stoked to be traveling somewhere outside the US and playing music to brand new ears that he'd neglected to mention to Toby any information on the plans. This one had lasted a week, 168 hours filled with sweaty bedsheets, Jameson in coffee mugs, and blackout curtains so they could smother themselves in a cocoon of bliss and fucking.

Kasper had been at Toby's house for the duration of their relationship, only leaving for band practice and to pack his meager selection of loose white tees and skinny jeans for tour. It hadn't been like Toby was grilling him for information, though that was probably because his mouth had been too busy doing other things. So last night when his google calendar pinged him a reminder for their flight information and Toby had seen, the conversation hadn't gone well. He may have made plans with the guy for the following week, he may have promised to be his date to a wedding in two. Kasper'd tried to explain that he'd just been wrapped up in how well they fit together and had forgotten that he'd be gone on a European tour for the remainder of the summer- the whole conversation had resulted in him standing mostly naked outside a slamming apartment door with his clothes and boots in his hands.

He'd handled that by going to the closest dive bar, getting shit face drunk, and jerking off the hottest blonde he could find in the graffiti-covered bathroom. He remembered making promises in hushed tones into a sweaty neck, he remembered saying his number somewhat correctly, and he remembered deciding that he should walk home instead of calling an Lyft. Usually, shitty nights like that resulted in him crawling into one of his bandmate's rooms, either vying for a warm body to grab onto or at least the floor next to one. Instead, he'd fallen face-first on the couch and crashed hard.

Kasper woke up to a welcome weight and hot breath on his neck, the groan that escaped him blooming from his instant killer hangover. Stevie was whispering something about overdosing, or at least a bed to do that in and Kasper's head hurt so much he didn't hate the idea. As a reply Kasper pulled Stevie in front of him and rotated against the back of the couch, hiding his face between thin shoulder blades and mumbling something about a raging lesbian bull in the room.

Said bull was loudly complaining about shit he didn't have the mental bandwidth for- no one here ever pretended to have the ability to control Eoin and he didn't know why they were surprised by the shit he pulled. Erin quieted down after that, or the pulsing in Kasper's ears from his headache was too loud for him to hear her over. Either way, Stevie wasn't moving from the spot he'd been forced into and that was really all Kas cared about at the moment. He was sort of serving like a heat pack to a body that felt pummeled inside and out- but Stevie was pretty used to Kasper's clingyness when he looked and smelled like he'd bathed in whiskey.

He must have fallen asleep cause next thing he knew was the sweet, delicious smell of grease and noodles and heaven. Erin was already out of the room by the time he'd managed his eyes open, but still called out a "I'll love you forever" anyway. She knew, he wasn't worried. Most mornings her boys weren't even functional till she wisped in and magicked the coffee into being.

Stevie was already breaking his cheap chopsticks in half, the chinese food in front of them making Kasper want to throw up and eat the entire bag at once. Kas grabbed his own utensils and twirled the biggest messy bite out othe nearest takeout container, still reclined back against his couch sanctuary as he shoveled the noodles into his mouth.

The food was what he needed. Maybe also a PBR to quell the headache, but for now this would do.

"So... Eoin took off?" He mumbled around another bite, "You guys actin' like that's a shock. He'll probably show up at the airport irritated that you guys are freaking out or some shit. Or maybe he's dead in a ditch somewhere" Kasper adjusted his spot on the couch, sitting up so he could be closer to the takeout and therefore could more efficiently shovel food into his mouth.

"Toby broke up with me" He announced morosely, his tone signaling that Kasper thought that was much worse than their singer disappearing right before a huge tour, "I forgot to tell him we were leaving I guess. But, you know, we probably work if he'd tried"

Stevie had a mouthfull of food when Kas looked up at him for a reply. The bassist cast him a look, snorted, and swallowed his mouthful of noodles. "Sure Kas. If Toby tried"

Kasper glared back at him as he slurped a noodle into his mouth, "Listen no one ever faults me for not trying. Its probably better im single for Europe anyway so I guess fuck it"

"Sooooo, should I start calling hospitals are somethin'? Give the police his description in case a body turns up?"

ImageAmsterdam had always been too crowded for Alice’s taste. The cobblestone streets were too narrow, the stairs too steep, the people too comfortable with tight spaces. Her passport was English but her preference for big open roads and large spaces was a result of becoming accustomed to American luxury. Her first time here she performed at some random coffeeshop for a Rasta-fest that opted for small scattered performances in local businesses rather than multiple proper concert stages arranged at one venue. It was way before she even met River, still just some girl with a guitar and a piss poor producer and manager.

River had made it his personal mission to make her fall in love with Amsterdam. He’d only vacationed here once, brought along with his best friend's family because they could never imagine a vacation without him. River had loved every minute of his time spent in the city and had been beyond excited to make her love it just as much. It was easy for him to make her love the city. Her love for him spilled into everything he touched. Suddenly she didn’t mind if the pathways were narrow, it meant she got to stand closer to him; steep stairs was just an excuse to put her ass at the perfect height for River to smack; tight spaces meant she could stand against him, pushing herself into him.

They’d rented a houseboat along the canal in the Jordaan district, just beyond the canal ring and surrounded by every world renowned museum in the area. It still had that too-small feeling that Alice felt in Europe but between the Dutch charm and her own personal Adonis in their bed the place had grown on Alice.

The festival circuit could be exhausting, the people lived at a different pace. It was fun in small doses but it could grow to be tedious without breaks in between. River was the one who suggested they arrive early and make a vacation of it, though Alice was pretty sure he was just keen on having her all to himself. It was fun to dive into someone else’s life, live in their home and go to their local market. She could imagine a life like this for them; on a houseboat eating pastries from the Nutella cafe and drinking coffee in bed.

“Let’s just stay here forever,” She whispered into the curve of his neck one morning, his arms squeezing to pull her in closer. He layered on kisses anywhere he could reach, eyes still closed tightly and unwilling to open for the new morning. River hummed in agreement, tucking her body against his and pulling the large duvet over both of them more.

The lazy mornings were Alice’s favorite, drinking coffee in bed looking out onto the canal basking in sunlight. They'd find ways to prolong leaving bed, one always pulling the other back in. Her body was a religion, his temple between the divine of her thighs. Alice craved the warmth of his skin, that contact of their bodies pressed against one another as she wound her hips against him...

Eventually Sampson would grow restless and begin to scratch at the door, begging to be taken on a walk. They might have never left that bed if it wasn't for him, though admittedly they probably wouldn't have to lock themselves away in the bedroom to fuck if they didn't have the pomeranian around to stare at them so damn intently. It was impossible for them to go anywhere without him though, he was a fixture in Alice's presence - hell, in the band's presence. He even had his own instagram account, both official and fan-run.

While Alice loved the damp and grey mornings, the sun warming the dew off the boats porch and the empty streets around their canal, River loved their nights. They’d gone out a few times during their stay, but River had mostly wanted this vacation so they could have a few moments of togetherness before the mayhem of the festival.

He kept their wine supply full, sometimes jumping off the boat in the middle of the night to grab another bottle from the twenty-four hour market nearby. Their canal was right next to a party district, so from their little pocket of warmth on the water they could hear the echoing sounds of bass and yelling. It was almost a welcome noise, a reminder of how comfortable they were in this moment. River had no interest in finding the source of the music, too wrapped up in the curve of Alice’s hip in his hand, or the cocoon of her hair around him when her mouth held his captive.

The boat had a few of a canal bridge, so the two would sit on the deck wrapped in blankets, Alice tucked in Rivers lap and Sampson curled against their chests, drinking wine and sharing a joint and watching the drunk tourists till the early hours of the morning. It was the kind of comfort that made River want to go get his guitar, but he also knew trying to write in the moment would ruin it. Instead he kept his mind as present as possible, letting the wine loosen his lips and hands so he could at least try and catalog every second.

It has almost started to feel like home to Alice. She'd looked forward to their routine. Amsterdam had in fact grown on her, much to her own chagrin. It was meant as a vacation but it felt closer to real life than they'd been in a while.

The Festival circuit tossed them city to city with little respite in between. Funny to think there had been a time where it all seemed so glamorous to Alice, now she'd do anything to just be able to live out her days peacefully on a house boat with River and Sushi Sampson.

“I don’t know if I could manage going back to one of those trailers after this,” She said to him on their last night, sitting on the back of the houseboat sharing a bottle of wine under the moonlight.

“Why doesn’t every trailer come with a shop for wine and weed 20 feet away,” He agreed with her as he reached for the bottle between them, foregoing the glasses because neither of them wanted to do dishes, “They should add porches to those things, and softly lapping whatever. Better yet just have all the artists stay on the canal.”

“I mean....can we?” Alice asked, her face twisting with speculation. “I don’t know if there’s anything in the contract or something that mandates we be on site.”

“I…” He paused and glanced at her, blowing into the wine bottle for a deep whistle as he thought, “Why didn’t we think of that before? I can’t believe we were gonna leave this little piece of heaven for a party trailer in the middle of some field. I guess they think it’s easier and free but we don't have to at all.”

River grinned at her and leaned forward, handing back the bottle as well as an overly excited kiss, “So are you saying I convinced you of Amsterdam?”

“Mhm, you know no one likes a know-it-all,” She smiled, her hand gliding across his jawline and gripping at the hair at the base of his neck pulling him back into their kiss. His hand had already moved to the small of her back, Alice pivoting herself against him. He gripped her thighs, leading them around his waist. The blanket fell from around her as he stood up, Alice wrapping her arms around his neck to steady herself. She leaned in, running her tongue along the side of his neck then biting his earlobe gently, River moaning beneath her.

Sampson yipped at their feet, jumping to get between them. Alice couldn't help but laugh as River tried to shoo him away, backing them into the bedroom.

"He probably needs a walk...." Alice said with regretful realization.

"He can wait." River grunted, slamming the door behind them.

Charisma and confidence were a perfect duo for D4NGER, but Yusuke Kujikawa, the man behind the mask...not so much. Nerves and nausea suited him far more due to the simple fact that he couldn't currently stomach anything more flavorful than a bowl of porridge. Renewing his passport had been arduous process requiring him to take the metro, interact with the woman at the kiosk, and force a smile for the camera. It took far more social energy than he was ready for, but he knew that it would be the least amount of social activity he'd have for the next week. Cheers were already pouring in from all over Japan (and Utaite twitter) due to being one of the first acts to come from YouTube. There were a few Twitch streamers here and there, but most were one city acts or openers rather than headline acts. He felt like a minnow swimming with sharks...

...And that was enough to make him puke all over again.

D4NGER's last tweet had been a picture of the sun barely rising as they ascended into the sky, his stomach rumbling all the while. He made sure to pack a month's worth of clothes, his equipment, and extra cash; however, he neglected to bring any type of sedative or anti-nausea medication so the twelve hour flight consisted mostly of the flight attendant reassuring him that was in fact, fine that he needed another paper bag. Granted, that was after the person next to him complained about the odor wafting from his first bag. When asked why he didn't simply go to the restroom however the answer was simple: he was stuck in the middle. He didn't want to be that guy who constantly went back and forth from his seat to the aisle.

So he waited, always a minute or two after the person in the aisle seat left before he went to the bathroom and eventually settled on falling asleep to a movie and listening to old mp3s on his Zune, a gag gift from his sister on his tenth birthday. Despite being seemingly obsolete, it held power far longer than his cellphone and had a variety of animal stickers to remind him of their pet-filled childhood. Even without his family attending, he could pretend that they would be there.

When they finally landed, Yusuke stumbled out of the plane and towards the shuttle area, his mind still piecing together his itinerary. The fresh air blew away his nausea, the song birds swept his grogginess and the waft of fried food stirred his appetite.

"Mag ik een bestelling met vis?"

The words came out just shy of a whisper.

"Oh! Don't worry, I can speak English too. What would you like?"

"F-fi"

"I'm sorry. My ears are not very good anymore. Can you repeat?"

"F-fish..."

"Oh! You want an order of fish!" The vendor grabbed a small, paper tray before placing four pieces of fried cod and handing it over to him. "That will be three euros."

"T-thanks you very much."

He forced a smile as he walked away from the vendor and sat on one of the benches, nibbling one of the fried cod pieces. He supposed that the vendor wanted to give him points for trying, even if his accent was painfully thick and his volume was well...low to say the least. Despite going to school, listening to guides, and interacting with his English-speaking fans, it was no match for conversing with real, actual foreigners in person.

Why couldn't this be online?

He would have time to use a translator. He could type instead of speak. He turn off his camera if need be and he didn't have to worry about all the unknown factors ahead of him.

"Miauw."

Yusuke raised his head to meet an orange tabby staring at his lunch. Though it made no move to pounce its eyes were clearly fixated on one of the pieces he was holding. He dangled the fish forward, beckoning for the cat to come closer, a smile beginning to tug on his face.

It was comforting to know that at least the animals spoke the same language.

ImageImage If you had asked either of them before if they thought they would one day be travelling overseas to play their music at a festival that hosted a crowd in the thousands? They would have laughed and said ‘No way man.’ But neither of them were laughing now. This was as real as it could get. They were a week off from the festival still but the decision to travel early came easy. Neither had ever been outside of the usa before, and really only Pippa had a lot of experience in travelling. Courtesy of her parents dragging her to and from distant relatives houses for the holidays. Cody rarely left state, until their recent rise in popularity that is. So the chance to travel, see new things, experience new adventures. That was enough for both of them to empty their savings and hit the road. Yeah, not the most responsible adult thing for them to do - but, they never claimed to be.

“I hate planes,” Cody said, for what must have been the millionth time. “If we were meant to fly, we’d have wings, this is unnatural.”

Pippa groaned, head flung back hard into the headrest of her seat. Maybe if she did that hard enough a few more times she’d knock herself right the fuck out. It would be a welcome distraction from the discomfort of being smooshed into the window seat (Cody refused to be that close to the clouds, whatever the hell that meant) struggling to find a comfortable position between the flailing of Codys ridiculously gangly limbs and the reclined seat of the asshole in front of her. She was practically scrunched into a ball, and still every once in a while Cody would twitch and jab her with his elbows.

He wouldn’t stop moving - couldn’t maybe. He was visibly sweating despite the Ativan he had popped prior to the flight. So much for anxiety relief. His legs were continuously finding new positions to be in without his full awareness. Feet tapping out a maddening rhythm as he tried his best to distract himself from the whirling in his gut.

Pippa was lucky enough to start dozing halfway into the flight. She must have truly fallen asleep at some point because the next thing she knew she was being shaken awake by Cody, who seemed far less jittery than when they had boarded.

“How the fuck do you sleep like that?” He questioned, as she blinked blurrily up at him. Face twisted into a scowl as she watched him contort his body into a similar position to what she had been sleeping in. “Your spine must be made of gelatin.”

“Shut up,” She laughed, pushing him back as she stood. People had already started to file one by one off the plane. “Come on, I want to get some real sleep in a real bed.”

Thankfully, with a little bit of help from an actual adult in their lives - Cody’s much appreciated, and very thoughtful mother - they’d manage to get a good deal on a hotel stay. The Ambassade Hotel was even nicer than the pictures had suggested. Cody had never dreamed he would stay in such fancy digs. It was close to the airport too, which meant there was very little issue getting there and getting checked in. Once they finally got their bags up to the room he had shaken off the nervous anxiety from the flight and no longer felt as if he needed to take off in a nervous sprint.

“Jesus, I bet the room service is killer here.” Pippa said, as she dropped her bags to the floor and flopped face first onto the bed. All of the energy had drained out of her and now all she wanted to do was curl up and sleep for the next twenty four hours.

Which is in fact what she did.

They didn’t really leave the hotel room for the first day. Pippa too jet lagged to function and Cody just basking in the fact that he was on solid ground. Eventually though the call to the streets hit and they both took off to see the sights. For the most part they stuck together, visiting a variety of touristy places and buying a boatload of kitschy souvenirs. Their most frequent stops were to a variety of coffee shops though, where they would sit for a while, sipping hot chocolate and indulging in other activities. And if, at night, they chose to go the route of harder partying - well, what happens in Amsterdam stays in Amsterdam.

Eoin lay on the leather sofa in the waiting room when his bandmates burst through the room. He could vaguely hear them in his sleep, somewhat conscious of the smell of leather, music instruments, and cheap beer that they brought along with them. He could hear their shouts of recognition, sense their touches and shoves. But his dream had him too deep in its grasp. Or the remnants of it anyway.

He could not tell whether he was still asleep or not, but the images behind his eyes made him doubt awareness.
Eoin was in the Underworld. He was a shade, something minute compared to the great creatures that surrounded him. He was in a dungeon. He was fighting, struggling. There was a deity beside him, a son of Hades and a minor goddess. Was he the god of compassion? Or maybe he was the god of torture because he protected and looked at Eoin with Stevie’s wanderlust eyes.

This deity version of Stevie had all of his beauty with none of his light. The Underworld cloaked him in dark grays and stone shades. The blush of his cheeks, the painted sunburns and flower stickers, gone beneath a smear of alabaster.
“Father!” dream-god Stevie shouted.

He caged Eoin against the dungeon wall, pressing him hard between the sharp stones and his body. A massive shadow grew and grew, the form Hades preferred in this ghastly nightmare. It consumed everything, cloaking it in impenetrable darkness. Eoin watched as his body became nothing more than burned bones.

Burned bones...burned bones…

That image, a charred body behind a celestial creature, made him open his eyes.

His band loitered around, half ignoring him, half wanting to pounce him with murderous intent. Eoin said nothing. His breath was shaking, and his hands felt sticky gross. He reached for the bottle of beer that he’d left on the floor beside him. He stopped when he spotted it on Stevie’s hand, going directly to his lips.

God-like his ass. The kid was nothing but a beer stealing punk.

“That has a laxative in it,” Eoin said. “European food constipates me.”

He sat back and watched chaos ensue.

The night Eoin had up and disappeared Stevie had nearly taken Kas up on his offer to start calling hospitals, but when he'd finally dragged himself into the shower, the hot water had revealed a note in the mirror - Amsterdam. He'd left them like a jackass, couldn't answer their calls or talk to any of them like a normal person, but at least he was technically where he was supposed to be.

It made his life easier but only marginally. He found their paperwork, visas, everything they actually needed tucked neatly away in a messenger bag Eoin had left in Stevie's suitcase. He managed to get them through the airports, customs, and in a cab (and when he pointed out the condoms in the back with a wink in Kasper's direction, he also managed to ignore Erin's eye roll) that led them straight to their missing leader.

Stevie had been the first to push at Eoin's sleeping form, because as a group London State of Mind wasn't exactly quiet and he wanted to make sure he wasn't dead after all, but Eoin would come to the way Eoin did everything - whenever he wanted.

“That has a laxative in it.

"You're a fucking liar," Stevie said, not even sparing his friend a glance. He was sorting through their ID's so they could get through the security for Madness, and tossed Eoin his. "Or at least you better hope you are because sound checks will be a bitch without Lead. Get your ass up, we've got to check in."

***

Madness was huge. He'd read online that the festival covered 78 acre's but he'd really had no idea how much land that was until he saw it. There were two giant stages, complete with large screens for the crowd who couldn't get up close, and what was probably a mile long tented area that would house food, drinks, general merch or other necessities. Outhouses covered the outer perimeter, and trailers were sat up for the bands to use between sets, to sell their merch, and to give interviews.

Stevie had never been in a place so fucking big, and people weren't even there yet. Just security, managers, and other musicians doing sound checks on stage.

"Jesus," he whispered as Eoin signed them in, handing back the passes they got with their face and band name on them. He recognized Alice and River not far from them, and gave a two finger salute in greeting. He'd known they were coming, just as he knew Davi and Dua would be there, but there were plenty of names he didn't recognize.

"How many people we expecting to show up?" he asked the guy with the clipboard who looked Important.

"200k or so, if last year was anything to go off of," the man answered, and Stevie felt like he might vomit.

Erin didn't know what enraged her more when she and the other bandmates were told where their leader went. The fact he left for Amsterdam early, or left without saying a god damn word. Gonna fucking kill him, she thought to herself. Of course Eoin would pull some fucking stunt like this. He had a knack for pulling bullshit regardless, but even then it was a new low for him and she was going to let him hear it whenever they found him. Precisely with her hands around his neck. Would be a nice touch.

But all that really mattered was that within a few days, they were already boarding a plane for the Netherlands. Which only really involved Erin being on her phone with earbuds in, music blasting her eardrums out as she drowned out the other bandmates. If she wasn't allowed to get intoxicated, she'd replace that manner with music. There were few things that helped her headaches that the boys caused, and that wasn't drugs or well...Other finer things in life anyway. It was music. She barely noticed how fast time seemed to go by as she scrolled mindlessly through instagram, Twitter, and spent a lot time looking out the window as she sat next to the window seat, and Hailee sitting right next to her. And the boys well, she didn't care where they were. Not until Hailee ended up taking her phone away and left her with nothing to do until she was given back her phone. The landing could have been a little smoother but, they had finally made contact with the ground and that was all she cared about. One step closer to beating his ass, she thought for a moment. And it surprisingly didn't take very long to find their long lost leader. Passed out on a sofa in the waiting room.

Erin followed closely behind Stevie as they walked in, watching as the boys conversed as Eoin finally woke up, looking like absolute hell. "Welcome back to the land of the living, dickhead." she muttered, accepting the pass that Stevie was handing out. Of course Stevie was taking over for half of Eoin's work, Erin shook her head. "Thanks, Stevie." she said softly, before putting her earbuds back in, losing herself to the music for a bit longer as the band got in line and passed security. The venue was fucking massive and was like nothing Erin had ever seen before. She didn't know if it was the smell she got off of Eoin, or the alcohol they had, maybe both, but she felt a small pit form in her stomach for a moment. She never really played for this large of a crowd before. It was a weird mix of excitement and nerves that coursed through her veins.

It was only when she saw the man in charge of security mouth the words "200k" that she felt her legs give out for just a moment, before swiftly recovering as she felt Hailee support her. Managing to catch her for a brief moment. The two girls exchanging a small nod before continuing on, "Did he just say 200k?" Erin repeated. Feeling her throat close up for a moment. Cottonmouth was a bitch. "That is what the man said, 'Rin. You gonna be able to go out for this?" she heard Hailee tease. Erin groaned as she rolled her eyes, if they rolled anymore they'd be rolling out of her head. "Of course I am. Just...Didn't think the venue would be this massive. Jesus..." Erin looked around, trying her best if she could see any familiar faces, she doubted it. But she saw a few faces in the amassing groups of performing acts. River and Alice, who she gave a small nod and smile to; and plenty of others. Erin knew a few of their more 'friendly' acts had to be somewhere and she was admitedly excited to see them. But for now, she kept her cool and proceeded on with passing through security checks. She did have a reputation to uphold after all.

Between the lingering effects of drugs and alcohol from the night before and dehydration, her head felt like it was filled with gravel. Every attempt to string together a thought was grating, never able to slip through the cracks. It’d grown to be the norm for Dua while they were on tour, it was the pace of the lifestyle. If she managed to get any sleep it was never longer than a few hours, always waking up as she cusped into sobriety.

Slowly she took stock of her situation, details slowly returning to her. They were in a hotel, the same one they’d been in for the last couple nights. Last night they’d played a gig for the European leg of their tour, tonight they played at the Festival. She slept with….her eyes drifted to the bed around her finding it empty – no one? Or they left.

She rubbed the sleep from her eyes, pushing herself upright.

“Davy!” Dua called out, propping herself up against the headboard.

“Look right next to you!” She yelled back.

Dua looked over to her nightstand where there was a glass of water and a mug of steaming coffee. She took the water, chugging it with desperation so that it spilled out over the sides and across her chest until it’s contents were gone. Slamming down the glass with satisfaction, she reached over for the coffee leaning back into the bed with contentment.

“Thank you!” Dua shouted through the door.

Davy turned up her music a louder, no longer concerned if it would wake up Dua. She’d already ordered room service for them, demolishing most of the French toast and strawberries with mascarpone. Davy never indulged enough to require too much of a recover time, not like Dua. She’d grown to love her morning routines from her skin care to her breakfast. It was essential when you were on the road to maintain some sort of routine, that bit of normalcy to keep you grounded.

“You have your bags packed already?” Dua asked as she walked into the room pulling over an oversized sweatshirt. She grabbed some pieces of fruit from the room service tray, sitting across from Davy with one leg tucked under her so that she could rest her elbow on her knee. Her sister was already made up, obviously waiting for Dua so they could leave.

“Ana already had it done by the time I woke up.”

“What an angel, that girl deserves a raise.” Dua laughed. The two shared an assistant but that term never gave her the credit she was due. Davy liked to think she was the one watching over Dua, Dua liked to think she watched over Davy - the reality was both of them would be babbling infants if Ana wasn’t around to take care of them.

“I was thinking,” Dua continued. “What if we swapped ‘Astrology Bitch’ with ‘Kinda a Girl’? We could keep the transition but I felt like at the show last night people had higher energy with Kinda a Girl. I don’t know if that song is more popular here or not - I guess I could ask someone the metrics but I don’t really have the energy or bandwidth to do that. I just think it’d be better to end that leg of the set hype so when we’re setting up for ‘Battle Me’, when people hear those first few notes they’ll be ready to - are you even listening to me???.”

Davy had already been sucked into her phone, her lips twisted upwards into a mischievous smirk. She watched intently as the number of likes rose on her image, a slew of comments building underneath it. There was only one person she was waiting to fall into her thirst trap however, Davy waiting for that username to show up in her notifications. She hadn’t even noticed Dua was talking to her until she heard her sister raise her voice, Davy looking up with a sheepish expression.

“Sorry,” Davy slid her phone back onto the table.

“Are you stalking Erin’s page again? You two are obviously into each other, even your fans ship it. Why do you keep playing coy?” Dua rolled her eyes, walking into the bathroom to run the shower.

“Not that I expect you to understand anything beyond instant gratification, but the chase can be just as fun as the catch.” Davy’s words were drowned out by the sound of the shower. She didn’t need to hear her younger sister, she knew her well enough to guess what was said. Something mildly insulting most assuredly. She closed the door behind her and stepped into the shower.

“Hurry up!” Davy hollered through the door only moments after.

“I literally only just rinsed the shampoo from my hair, can you chill?” Dua shouted over the water, making no effort to rush herself. They weren’t going on until late afternoon, sure it was fun to arrive early and hang out with the others - but there was always the afterparty. Pippa’s face flashed in her mind, Dua suppressing her smile even if no one else was around to see it.

“Trina just texted me, Pitchfork just asked if we could squeeze in an interview one hour from now.”

“Fuck,” Dua mumbled to herself before shouting back. “Okay - I’ll be right out!”

_______________________________________________________________________

“Oof, that was rough.” Dua scratched the back of her neck and Davy and she pulled themselves into the backseat of their ride.

“It wasn’t so bad.” Davy lied, linking her arm through Dua’s.

“They’re going to think I need therapy.”

“I mean - you do.”

“Shut up.” Dua flicked Davy’s nose, the two sinking into their seat. They both pulled out their phones, each taking the opportunity to dissociate and slip into their virtual lives. Davy checked her instagram again to see if Erin had liked her photo yet. Dua sent out a couple texts to Jasper and Pippa asking when they’d be at the festival.

The festival had become like some horny summer camp for the artists. It was toxic and exhausting and exhilarating and hilarious all at once. London State of Mind seemed to be at the center of it all, the band collectively seemed to be fucking the whole roster - or at least from the outside looking in. The fans loved it, steadily stocking the instagrams of the stars piecing together the puzzle. They got more right than people gave them credit for, much to the industry’s chagrin.

“Here we are.” Said their chauffeur from the front seat after a while, the two looking out the window. The guards waved their driver through the side entrance, rolling into the lot for artists and staff. Davy squeezed Dua’s arm in excitement, the two looking at each other with a shit-eating grin. As many shows as they performed, it never stopped being exciting.

“Oh look, London State of Mind is here!” Davy said, pointing to Eoin and Stevie in the distance. Dua nudged Davy knowingly, letting the implication lay between them wordlessly. They both knew who Davy was really excited for.

“Come on - let’s catch up.” Dua teased, grabbing Davy’s hand and pulling her out of the car. Ana had already coordinated the set up of their trailer and equipment, it was all smooth sailing from here until they were due to go on. Might as well have fun in the meantime. Dua jogged after the band, dragging a semi-reluctant Davy behind her. As they approached Stevie and Eion, Erin and Jasper came into their line of sight. Davy squeezed Dua’s hand reflexively, trying to slow them down. The last thing she wanted to express was further interest. Dua rolled her eyes, waving her free arm and shouting after the group. “Hey - wait up!”

Beautiful! Absolutely love! Reserved for you <3

Re: Welcome to the Madness Music Festival

Hello! I have a bit of free time so I would like to reserve a slot for a singer instead of a band!

Their stage name would be "D4NGER" (yes all caps) and the general concept is that D4NGER has been an utaite for several years, gaining fame on Nico Nico Douga before posting some videos onto YouTube. They've been a largely enigmatic figure because they hide behind a drawn persona and in the rare cases that they stream, they wear a mask.

After an invitation and some encouragement from their friends, they decided to attend the festival and perform on stage for the first time.

I haven't picked out an FC yet, but please let me know if this works or if anything needs to be changed!

Welcome to the Madness Music Festival

"Welcome to the Madness Music Festival"

Please make your reservations here - refer to the rules if you're not sure how.
I'll provide a CS if ya'll need one but as long as you have all the basics and - if I haven't written with you before, it shows your writing capabilities - then it's all good, I'm not picky about how it looks.
Other roles can be open.
