Kay has changed a lot from the way she was when she was a little girl. She used to be a chatter box, enjoyed being around friends and family, and always had a smile on her face. Though over the past couple years, she's become the total opposite. She doesn't really say much unless someone talks to her directly or someone makes her angry. She avoids crowds of people at all costs, which is why she skipped school a lot, and she hasn't smiled in over a year. The only emotion she shows anymore is anger, not only for herself but for others too. She's not the kind of person to just stand by and watch someone get hurt, seeing others in pain angers her more than almost anything, and she is most definitely not one to back down from a fight. A lot of people under estimate her because of her quietness, they sometimes mistake it for meekness, but there's not a meek bone in Kay's body.

Kay's father left when she was 5, after having an affair. Since then, it was only her and her mother until she was 12, and her mother finally remarried. The man seemed kind enough at first, and her mom was head over heels in love. Then one night, when Kay was 14, her stepfather slipped into her room. Kay was too scared and confused by his sudden transformation from father figure to monster, to even react until he was gone. She tried to tell her mom, but the woman wouldn't believe it, or if she did, she just pretended to ignore it. It went on for the next year and a half, her stepfather becoming more and more abusive during his assaults. Finally, it was too much for her to handle anymore, she hid a knife under her pillow and waited for him to come in. When he did, she pulled the knife and forced him back out of her room, lunging at him with the knife, stabbing him in the chest, just inches away from his heart. The look in her mother's eyes as she held her bleeding husband was one of pure hatred, not for the man who had terrorized her child, but for the child she had raised for 15 years. Kay couldn't believe it when she was arrested, her mother and stepfather both testified against her, saying that she was jealous of the relationship they had and that she'd had unrequited feelings for her stepfather for years, when he turned her down she grabbed the knife and tried to kill him. Kay couldn't believe the betrayal she was faced from the woman who gave birth to her. She has been in Juvie for a couple months now.
