Naomi was sitting in the living room, staring at the TV. They only had a couple home videos of Samantha, but Naomi has a habit of watching them, one after the other, repeatedly. She sat on the couch, her legs crossed, watching the TV, seeing the face of their beautiful baby girl. She sobbed quietly, tears running down her cheeks, a hand resting on her stomach. On the table, there was a bottle of sleeping pills next to a bottle of vodka, she hadn't taken anything yet, but kept them within reach.

When she heard Scott's voice, she tore her gaze away from the TV, looking up at him, her eyes widening slightly, glancing at the pills and alcohol sitting on the coffee table. "Scott, I'm so sorry," She cried harder. She knew it wasn't fair to him, trying to kill herself, but she just missed their daughter so much, wanted to hold her in her arms once more.

Shane hated lying to Jacelyn, he'd lost his job a week ago, but hasn't been able to bring himself to tell her. So instead, he goes about the day like he normally would, leaving the house 'for work' on time, but he always ends up at some bar or convenient store, getting alcohol. He knows the drinking isn't going to help him find another job, but it accomplishes temporarily getting his mind off just how much of a screw up he is.

When he pulled up to the house, he checked his reflection, making sure he didn't look like he'd been drinking, popping another piece of gum into his mouth to help cover the smell on his breath. He'd started drinking early that morning, going from the house straight to buying a bottle of whiskey. He'd been sitting in his car all day, just drinking. Though he made himself stop a few hours before he had to be home, hoping to sober up enough to safely drive home and cover up the fact that he'd been drinking at all.

Shane was surprised when he opened the front door, Jacelyn's squeal causing his head to pound. "Hey," He said, mustering up a small smile for her, running a hand over his face. "What's up?" He asked curiously, wondering what has her so worked up and excited.

Naomi was quiet for a moment, trying to control her sobs, once she got them down to sniffles, she nodded her head slightly and picked up the remote. Though, she couldn't stop herself from watching for a few more moments, before finally shutting it off.

She took a deep, ragged breath, as she slowly got to her feet and let Scott lead her upstairs to their room. "I miss her so much," She cried quietly, rubbing her stomach where she'd felt most connected to their daughter. She didn't understand why this had to happen to them, why they had to lose their beautiful baby girl.

When Jacelyn mentioned going out, his first thought was about how much money it was going to cost them. "Suit? I need to wear a suit? Where are we going? And what's the occasion?" He asked a little nervously, though did his best to keep the nerves from his voice.

Shane hated that he had to be so conscientious of money now, they were never rich, but they always had enough to go out and do pretty much whatever they wanted without having to worry about whether or not they'd have enough to pay the bills. Now though, he's not so sure if a night out was worth them possibly losing their lights. "Can't we just eat in? I love your cooking baby." He said, smiling at her.

Naomi nodded her head slightly when Scott offered her a drink. "I love you too," She murmured, wiping the tears from her cheeks. on some level she knew it really wasn't fair to Scott, what she was doing. He lost just as much as she did, and now she was trying to leave him too. This made her feel even worse about everything. He was an amazing man and an even more amazing husband. She should be happy, just being with him, but now it just felt like something was missing. And that was their daughter.

Shane mentally face palmed when Jacelyn looked at him hurt. "No, baby, you didn't do anything." He said, placing his hands on her upper arms, rubbing them gently as he looked down at her, his forehead resting against hers. "I'm sorry. It was just a long day at work." He lied, hating that he was lying to her. "I'm gonna go take a shower and get ready to go out now, ok." He said, kissing her softly on the lips before taking a step back. "I'll be right back." He said, turning and heading up the stairs, mentally trying to figure out how he can juggle their finances around to make sure that all their bills still got paid.

Naomi looked down at the glass of alcohol her husband passed to her, just staring down into it. Honestly she didn't really feel like doing anything, she never did anymore. She never seemed to have the energy to want to go out and do something. "I don't know babe. I'd be alright just staying in." She murmured quietly taking a small drink of the alcohol before quickly downing the rest of it.

Shane quickly slipped into the shower and washed up before getting out again and drying off. He walked into their room, the towel still wrapped around his waist as he rummaged through his closet. A quiet sigh escaped his lips as he ran a hand through his hair, still stressing about how he was going to cover everything and not let on that he'd lost his job. He didn't want Jacelyn to worry and he was supposed to the provider for the family, he can't provide if he doesn't have a job. He quickly got changed into his suit before heading back downstairs to see if Jacelyn was ready to go, really hoping she might change her mind and decide to stay in instead.
