Shy girl with a passion for sparkly things
She is a sensitive and shy person. She likes to be with her family and friends, who care about her and when she is with them, she can open up and talk and be herself. Among strangers, however, he is nervous and tends to clam up. People are often surprised at how talkative she can be once they get to know her, because she appears to be so quiet and bland at first. She hides her feelings from people whom she does not know well, because she doesn't know if she can trust them. With her loved ones she can be more herself. Her feelings are easily hurt, and she tends to be easily embarrassed. She is sensitive, and her loved ones even tease her about being a little TOO sensitive at times. When her feelings are hurt, she doesn't always let on. She doesn't like confrontations, and she is not the sort of person to throw a melodramatic hissy fit. She just tends to fret over it for a few days, until eventually the misunderstanding is cleared up, or time heals the wound. She focuses intently on whatever she does, so her skills at multi-tasking is less than nil.
Always wears some sort of scarf, and carries a leather-bound journal for her writing and sketching, and a bag of skittles.
Her parents moved to the United States from the Ukraine before she was born. She has an older brother who was born there. Her parents are both very traditional, and as much as she loves them, she is very much a typical American girl, which often puts her at odds with her family. She was the girl who asked all the questions in class and who always had the answer. It may have been wrong, but it was an answer nonetheless. After graduating, she chose to go to college, set on becoming a librarian. However, when she stepped into a Geology classroom, the teacher made her fall in love with rocks and minerals.
It would have been easy to abandon the plans she'd had since middle school, but the stacks of books and helping people and miles of different information still called. So she settled for becoming an amateur mineralogist on her own. When she heard about this program, she simply had to apply. Though not strictly an archaeology fan, she could still appreciate the history, and most importantly, the rocks this history was found in.
