Suzumi stood on the pink cloud overlooking earth. She looked down at the earth a sinking feeling. Was she ready for this mission? There was so much corruption and violence in the world. And a battle with the demons was brimming and ready to breakout on the earth. She was not built for battle like the archangels, nor powerful like power angel. God did create her, however, with a different purpose, to encourage and bring peace to other angels, showing God’s mercy and love rather than his strength and justice. She was greatly interested in humans. Although lacking virtues and righteousness human have the capacity to do so much. Humans are so violent and full of sin yet God gives them the gift of mercy and love. They are so confused, sad, and afraid she thought. Feeling drawn and compelled to go. That was what he was calling angels down for wasn't it? To bring peace back to the world. But at what price? She knew God's rules and the consequences that would come of her were she to break them as well as what life would await her should she become a human. But more than that she didn't want to fail God or anyone else. What if she could not complete the task that the Lord assigned for her? And what's more, was she really willing to face a demon for the sake of a human? But she could not think that way. The Lord has a plan and she was determined to follow God’s will no matter the cost to herself.

She took a deep breath accepting the fact that once she left heaven there was no going back. She felt herself filling with peace and joy as she jumped off the cloud, light and weightless like a ray of light shooting down from the sky. Her long, white like hair flowing in the wind, the flight down left her breathless as she made the decent. Though she was wearing no clothes as all angels except the arch angels she was surrounded by rays of light. “What a rush!” she exclaimed forgetting for a moment the dangers that may await her and the severity of the mission she was expected to complete.

She landed in a tree in a sort of heap a twig getting caught in her hair. As she gently tried to pull out the twig. She noticed an angel below. It was that fox angel she had seen before in heaven. Suzumi admired that angel, Ikaros she remembered her name was, and sometimes wished she could show the same courage. The angel was talking to a rather powerful fox demon. Also with the angel seemed to be a human, and since Suzumi did not feel the aura of an angel in disguise so that’s what he must be. She felt his fear and confusion, and she immediately drew her wings out, sending a calming wave of Christ’s peace. As she was focused on the human, the demon and the angel, Ikaros, seemed to be preparing for a fight. The demon lunged at the angel as Suzumi lifted her wings once more and sent a force-field down to protect the angel from the demon’s fury. “May the Lord shield you from all fiery darts” she muttered as the shield of soft almost invisible light encircled the angel and the human.

The demon bounced off the barrier with force. His anger increasing as he let out a low growl. Suzumi hated violence but she could not just stand by and watch an angel or human get hurt. She prepared herself for battle as the demon paced with fury preparing another attack. She did not know this demon’s powers though the glowing blue fire around him must have something to do with it. She held the force-field strong preparing for his next attack. It was only a matter of time before he spotted her though. She hoped that she was strong enough to fight him. Sure enough the demon looked around and spotted her in the tree letting out the most menacing howl Suzumi had ever heard. The other two also seemed to notice her as well. She prepared herself for the attack, keeping an eye on the one's below. Suzumi knew that if she was to face a battle, Ikaros would surely help and was powerful enough to ward off the demon, at least for a while. Perhaps if they worked together they could defeat him. She only had enough strength for one shield at a time. If he leaped at her she would have to remove the shield from them to protect herself.
The only thing that really worried Suzumi was the human. He had to be protected. As she wondered what to do, The demon made his move.

Ikaros quickly pulled her hand back as the demon twisted in the air and landed away from her. She landed as well, not much disappointed by her failure in grabbing his tail. She had not expected it to be as easy as that...His words were thick with venom as he mentioned her human, striding around them as if he were ready to pounce his prey. What a sick little view it was, Ikaros thought...His words echoed, and humans walked around them as if they wern't there. Which wasn't much of a surprise to Ikaros. She was forcing some of her energy to not only cloak herself, but her human as well, since he may also battle. Hopefully, though, they would not be injured. They may as well not have seen them, but that did not mean their powers couldn't effect them. Perhaps this fight was not the best planned....Not only would she have to keep an eye on Axel, but all of the humans around them, as well...

He continued to speak, but she said nothing in return. She was not here for the luxury of idle chatter. No, she was here for something much more great than that; his life...As he lunged towards her, she folded the tips of her wings over her chest to cast a shield once more; for protection. The result was as expected; the demon being swatted off and thrown back. With his landing came a sickening crack of his spine, but he seemed to be fine, as he writhed himself back to his feet. Yet, even though the result was normal, there was something strange about it at the same time...Her barrier was not what had bounced the demon back...It was someone's barrier...Not hers...

Ikaros could feel the presence of another angel near by. Yet, it was obvious she was hiding...It was Suzumi, wasn't it? She could tell by her aura. But what was she doing here? She was in no place to be in such a violent place, where battles between angels and demons would surly be breaking out. But, none the less, she was thankful for her help. This only meant that Ikaros had less to worry about. Suzumi could focus on protecting the humans, while Ikaros focused on tearing the little fox to shreds...A wry grin formed across her lips as she stepped towards the demon, who was not only slightly injured, but hurt in his pride as well.
"You will regret being here this day, fox...

With those simple and short words, Ikaros pulls her hand up towards the fox. She had to keep attacking him; not giving him the time to sense the other angel while they were at an advantage. She was so close, there was no way the fox would be able to move fast enough to dodge it. However, if he was quick enough, he could cause the blow to hit something less vital than his face. A bright light began to glow and gather within the palm of her hand, until it was so bright that it was nearly unbearable. When, suddenly, a spike of light shot from it straight for him. His legs were now shaking from the power she was slowly sapping from him, and perhaps he was even still a little dazed from the hard fall. Would he be able to move in time?....

Kumori prided himself on his speed, even for a fox demon he was fast. He was the King after all and therefor had to uphold his rank. But, these Angels were powerful and something was sapping his strength away. He had spent too long holed up in his shrine, living off measly human offerings. In those few moments, he cursed the Lord of Hell with all his beings, wishing he could rip that stupid red-ape apart.

Not only had the appearance of the second one surprised him enough that he did not calculate the next move of his current opponent, but she was able to charge up a hefty attack before he was able to react. It was too late by then and all he had been able to do was twist is small body to the left a little. Her furious attack left the left side of his body singed and burned...the beautiful white, fluffy fur was a darkened mass of burned skin and black tar. Demon blood was not red liquid like humans, it was thick sluggish black ooze that sloshed through there bodies slow and unnaturally. Kumori has chosen today of all days to don the size of a regular Earth fox, so the attack had left his whole side destroyed.

The noise he made was somewhere between a heart-wrenching cry of pain and a scream of pure, spine-curling anger. Fox Demons avoided pain at all costs, especially pain that left horrible scars like this one was sure to make. They were too much into vanity and this Angels attack was sure to transfer to all of Kumori's forms, no matter how many illusions he cast. The attack blew him across this street and into the side of a building, creating a good sized crater in the brick. His body fell lifeless to the concrete below and he didn't move.

Kumori's purple eyes stared lifelessly to the street beyond, his mouth open and revealing sharp fangs. The blue Fox Fire that always swirled around and in him had evaporated with the attack and in all appearances he appeared dead. His chest did not rise and he lay with the damage side up, showcasing the disgusting oozing burn that marred his pure white coat.

“Animals like to play dead.” He said softly as the fox lay lifeless in the crater, as he lowered his gun. He had ignored every word the fox had said to him, why would he believe him when he could see the fox clearly threw his angels eyes. He never managed to pull off a shot, not because of fear but because of concern, something Ikaros would have felt. Pulling off a shot when only being able to see threw her eyes would have been next to impossible even for him. He didn’t want to hit Ikaros so he chose to let it play out. He walked towards where Ikaros was or at least towards her direction. “I’d like my eyes back now.” He said with a sigh. His first encounter hadn’t been what he expected. He thought he would fight and not be blind, but life was funny that way he supposed.

He had no way of knowing of the other angel’s presence, how would he? He didn’t fully understand what Ikaros could do at least not yet he just assumed the shield was something she did, After all he couldn’t read into her mind… at least not yet. He peered towards the fox threw his angels eyes. it was strange such a beautiful creature was so cruel how ironic. “You should finish him just to be safe.” Axel was no fool, always make sure they were dead, the price of buying another bullet would be worth saving your life after all, or at least how he saw it. “be careful Ikaros I don’t trust this.” He placed himself right next to her and faced the same way just in case she chose to leave him blind.

Kumori had been a servant of the newly fallen Lucifer back when the Earth was much simpler. Humans did not scramble like ants everywhere and create massive cities of steal and technology. It was simpler...easier to scare them back when horror movies didn't take the fear from their minds. The Fox Demon had once terrified the cities of Asia, Kumori's massive nine-tailed fox form would breath fox fire onto whole towns, killing the inhabitants instantly. He could rip humans apart, devouring them in one bite, but as a fox demon, he usually kept to simple illusions to instill fear rather then to put in the effort. The fox would not have taken the title of King or have the right to sit by Lucifers side if he would fall so easily. What Kumori lacked was drive, he had nothing to truly live for anymore and therefor had lost his power and his tails. Humans did not fear something that simply laid around and drank sake.

When the Angel grasped Kumori's last remaining tail, a brilliant flare of fox fire burst from beneath her hand. It did not burn, only a soothing warmth as he was used to feeling daily. The fire surrounded her, almost lovingly lapping at her wings and skin. The Angel was enveloped with the warmth of the fox fire while Kumori's lifeless form remained still on the ground. Once the fire had covered her whole body, Kumori's eyes sprung open. The fox fire turned into a livid lashing mass, his anger seeping into the blue flames. It reached towards him, enveloping his body in the same cocoon, sucking itself away from her and leaving a cold, dry, and empty feeling behind. The fire seeped back into Kumori's fur, instilling the beautiful blueish glow he usually had running through him. The flame had not stolen any power from her, it had mimicked her power and instilled that into Kumori....allowing him enough 'juice' to kick start his demonic body once more.

His left ear flicked and in an instant he was on his feet three feet away, staring with a blank expression at the Angel. Kumori opened his maw and out poured more fox fire, seeping to the ground like lava. He let out a shrill demonic sound, the kind that left your back curling and ears aching. Pedestrians passing by covered their ears, unaware of where the horrible noise was coming from. Kumori's body gave a jerk, a movement that seemed to come from his very core outward. Three more strange twitches latter and his body changed, growing in size exponentially.

Standing before them stood a monstrously sized fox demon, his head towering far over the buildings around them. His eyes glowed blue from the fox fire within him and seeped from his mouth, paws, and fur. On his side the massive black tar still oozed to the ground, creating rivulets on black on the street below him. His fur glistened white where the fire did not burn and the tar did not obstruct its beauty. Behind him, two white tails swung in synchronized movements almost playfully, like a cat waiting for its ball of yarn. Slowly, Kumori's mouth turned up into a grin, revealing his terrifyingly sharp teeth.

"Little chicken, do you still want to play?" He asked in a echo like voice that lead off its a deep, sinister laugh. He once did not have a reason to unleash himself, but now this Angel had angered him. Kumori hated getting worked up and only did so when necessary. He had not wanted to take the Angel seriously because he deemed this Satan's problem, but it seemed that he would have to take part in this stupid war.

Suddenly, Ikaros heard the familiar soft foot steps of Suzumi as she approached. It had distracted her enough for the pure light to seep away from the palm of her hand as she looked over towards her. Her childish demeanor and the bouncy way she moved would make believe that Suzumi was naive. But, in all actuality, although young, she was quite smart and not easy to fool. She could see through anyone's soul...But, that did not mean her constant bombardment of questions weren't annoying.

A soft frown formed across her lips, and it seemed Suzumi had realized her annoyance quickly, for she stopped. With a soft sigh, she begins to explain. Why not? She deserved to know as much as anyone else, right? She did help, after all...
"I am fine...I came to attack this demon because he was running ramped in the streets and I did not want harm to come to any humans...He can see demons because I allow him too...It is a long story, but there is a reason behind it..And i do not know the name of that demon, but it doesn't matter now..." With those questions answered, Ikaros returned herself to her business.

Reaching out to grab the tail again, she expected nothing more than to chop it off and take it. But, something else happened...Some warm fox fire bursted to life under her grasp and attached itself to her; growing and consuming her body. At first, she pulled back in surprise, unsure of what to expect. But, nothing seemed to happen...It was warm; so very warm. It made her feel so calm...But it wasn't long before that energy began to thrash in rage and leap from her body to the demon's. The feeling of the fire leaving her body felt so cold; the undesired opposite of what it had felt like when it was with her. A shiver ran down her spine from the feeling, as she leaped back; watching the fox reanimate itself.

But there was no fear in her eyes; no confusion or surprise. Her soft green eyes gleamed with calmness, thoughtfulness; perhaps even tenderness. His shrill screech was somewhat painful to her ears, only allowing her to flinch slightly, before she easily blocked the sound from her ears with her own power. It was apparent; he was very angry...He grew very large, and became a massive powerful being. In fact, he held two tails now. Their fight had apparently brought a deeper strength out of him. As he spoke, she simply smiled softly; tilting her head to one side as some of her soft pink hair fell over her left eye.

"Satan doesn't treat you well, does he?....You crave his attention more than anything, yet he ignores you, because he has no use of you....He demeans you; brushes you aside like you mean nothing, even in all your years of loyalty....Why would you stay, then? Stay with me, instead...I-.. Ikaros thinks for a second of those words, quickly deciding to change "I" into something else..."God...God will love you forever...He will never brush you aside...He will never ignore you...It can be better... Her words, at first, may have sounded mocking. But, as they went on, it was apparent they weren't. Her voice was filled with sadness, it seemed, as she looked up at the fox demon. All of her mockery and fun-making seemed to have blown away in the wind. She was so calm and collected now; so serious...

Such beauty, all put to waste...He could be so much more beautiful...She reaches a hand out to him; waiting for his response. She had it all wrong...She wanted to be a soldier, but she had it wrong...It wasn't about fighting and killing off the demons...That didn't matter, they would only come back again...It was about changing them; helping them come to the light...If he attacked her, Ikaros did not care. She had no defenses up; no desire to fight anymore. However, if he refused....Ikaros knew she would be left with no choice...Would he take her offer, or simply advance in his rampage for a king who cared not what happened to him?...With hand still outreached, she whispered softly. It was almost too soft to be heard, but he could hear it...The demon could hear her soft voice in his head; melodic.
"I will not offer this a second time...Please choose wisely.." She spoke as if begging, and not at all in a threatening way.. He was too beautiful and elegant to kill. Ikaros hoped he would not make her do something she would regret....

As for Suzumi, although she was an angel not much for the way of fighting, she was exposed now. The demon knew of her presence, even if he only seemed to be focused on Ikaros. So, she hoped Suzumi was ready...If it still came down to a battle, she would have to give it her all; whether she liked it or not...

Sukana

'Obviously she highly underestimate us demons.'

Sukana was on her way towards the place were Cecil wanted her to go but the sound of screech filled her ears. It was the sound of a fox demon and Sukana's mind instantly registered who it was. Quickly she followed the sound and soon found herself in what seemed like a battle between Kumori and the same Angel she found nude. Kumori looked lifeless on the floor and if Sukana wasn't emotionless she would have been shocked. But deep down she knew that an angel hasn't taken his life to easy. This is Kumori. The same demon Sukana remembers taken down many cities in a whole night. He was probably just weak.

Just as the angel grabbed his tail, -that she noticed was the last one- fire burst and went from the angel to Kumori. Sukana already what was happening and from the looks of angel. She didn't know. 'Obviously she highly underestimate us demons.' You should know your opponent before going into battle. Pathetic. Next thing you know Kumori sprang to life and was in his bigger form in no time. Sukana looked back at the angel and that's when she noticed another. Not to far next to her. What an unfair fight. Not like Sukana cared though. She would jump in when needed. Most people underestimate Sukana's abilities and that usually leaves them bloodied on the floor.

By then Kumori should have noticed Sukana's presence but probably couldn't see her. She would like it to stay that way. She narrowed her eyes at the angel that was offering something to the great wolf demon. She looked up at the demon and awaited his answer. If he choose light, she wasn't going to make head on telling he-who-shall-not-be named. He would already know. And that would literally put hell on earth. Kumori isn't dumb enough to do something like that. And once he-who-shall-not-be-named found Kumori, he would be dead. That would be his death wish. Sukana stayed back and awaited his answer like the other tow angels and human -who she noticed along with the angel-. This was going to be interesting.

Kumori stared down at the tiny Angel below, his luminous eyes piercing into hers. What game was this chicken trying to pull on him? Bringing up Satan only serves to further anger him, why would she continue to bring him up? It was true, his longed for his masters attention as they once had been long ago, but he knew that it would not be so anymore. Satan had grown too powerful and Kumori had grown too weak. He was of no true use to the Lord of Hell anymore then a fly was to a lion. But God? A demon could never serve Him. Kumori was born of the darkness, taken from his mothers nest when he was only a kit to live the life of a youkai. He had been nurtured from kit-hood to cause mayhem to the lives of humans, no God would accept him after that. He had been worshipped by humans like one but he knew that he could never actually be one. He was forever indebted to Hell and Satan, this Angel was just a naive optimist.

Kumori huffed, a billow of fox fire poofing from his nostrils. That is when he noticed the new Angel that had appeared and his eyes narrowed at her presence. Reinforcements? So this little devious chicken angel had not meant a word she had said. How could she spout about wanting him to join her but then send for another to attack as well. Kumori let loose another high pitched screech, a few of the windows on the buildings surrounding them shattering. He leapt forward, aiming to land right in front of his current angelic opponent and shove her to the ground with his paw almost delicately. He lowered his face, eyes blazing into hers.

"How can one being have the attention of want to love so many and still take on more?" The massive fox demon seethed, "No God will ever love a demon, chicken wings. It is a fact. I have been around long enough to know so. We demons can pretend to be Gods, but a God will never accept us"

Kumori suddenly felt the presence of another demon nearby, his ears swiveling to find there location. He did not want to take his attention from his opponent again, in fear of another scaring attack, but if another demon was hear then that could bring more...

Ikaros made no flinching movement with the second high pitch squeal as it shattered glass across the area. Humans could be heard panicking and screaming; quickly making there way out of the location. This served fine, for her. If they were out of the way, then she had nothing to worry about, besides Axel...As he leaped towards her, she, still, made no movement. She allowed the demon to push her down onto the ground.

Laying silently, Ikaros stared up into his eyes. Her large, white feathery wings were out stretched. Her soft green eyes glimmered against the light of the day as they looked at each other. Listening to his words carefully, she thought silently to herself. If he were to attack now, she would definitely be injured. There was no way she could avoid an attack. But, it wouldn't be enough to kill her, for sure. It would take much more than that...Yet, knowing this fact, Ikaros was not afraid. She would hold onto that last string of hope in order to save this demon if it meant being harmed. But, if he left her with no choice...Well, that was another matter...

She could also sense the other demon approach. At this feeling, a soft frown formed on her soft lips. No, she was not afraid of it. Surly, her angel friend could ward off the other demon long enough. Yet, still, she knew why the demon was there. If it could, at all, it would try to falter any progress she made with this demon; to keep him trapped in his despair with Satan. She needed to rely on Suzumi to take care of that, while she focused on this one...

Reaching out with a hand, ignoring the hot blue flame which was wrapped around the fox's body, Ikaros allows herself to run her fingers gently through the fox's fur; not taking her eyes away from his for a moment. She wanted him to feel the eternal love God could provide through her.
"God has an eternal love...He loves all...He loves even you...He even still loves Satan, through all of his rebellion....He would take you in his arms in the blink of an eye if you would allow him...Wouldn't you want that?...Don't you want that love? To know that someone truly cares about you?...You are so lonely...Aren't you?...I can change that....God can change that...Let us love you...Surly, you have no joy in the life you live now...But we can give you joy...Please..."

Ikaros pleaded with him; her eyes showing genuine concern, as she allowed her fingers to continue to stroke his fur. The fire was hot, and even with her angel abilities, it still burned. The skin on her hand began to peal and bubble. But, this did not bother her. Angels healed much faster than humans, and even so, Suzumi could heal her without issue. The pain did not matter to her. All she wanted was to prove to this demon that it didn't have to be the way that it was. Yes, if he turned his back on Satan, Satan would come after him...Satan would send demons to destroy him. But, God and all the angels would surly protect him...However, the choice was his alone...Would he be willing to fight off angels for Satan, who cared not for him? Or fall into the loving arms of God, where demons would then come after him? Which enemy did he fear more?....

Her hand began to feel numb; the fire burning away a lot of the feeling. In fact, a few splotches of her blood that had not burnt up tainted his fur. Her eyes caught the sight; viewing it as a lovely red rose on the pure white blanket of snow. It was beautiful...Although all that was burning was her hand, being that she was touching him with it, the heat was also effecting the rest of her body; sweat beading on her face. Was this what the flames of hell might feel like? She was glad she never had to endure them...

Sukana

'Let's hope he does the right thing and claw her throat out.'

Sukana was growing tired of watching the meaningless battle. They seemed to be having a discussion rather than actually fighting. When Kumori pinned the angel down, a thrill of excitement coursed through her veins. 'Let's hope he does the right thing and claw her throat out.' Sukana violent thoughts were raging at that moment but unfortunately, he just spoke some words about no being true to her word and other things. His ear perked up looking for the location of the demonic presence he scented. She could have pouted at how he didn't knew who she was. Every demon had their own distinct aura. Sukana's smelled more like fresh blood. Something Sukana needed at the minute.

When the angel put her hand on the white coat of the fox demon Sukana knew how dumb that angel was. The coat of a fox demon in it's final stage was always aflame. Now the angel seemed to make no attempt to take her hand off. 'Angels, idiots in wings and glory.' Sukana thought and watched as the once hands of a pure hand slowly become a bloody mess of flesh, torn skin, and blood. It was traveling its way up Kumori's coat getting soaked up. Someone needed to snap her neck before Sukana did it. She was actually getting impatient.

Axel had remained ideal for a time only watching the huge fox. Perhaps he wasn’t just full of hot air, but none the less he was still a big headed fool. In a way though so was he. What was he doing out here exactly? The thought had yet to cross his mind but why was it he was involved in any of this at all? Why should humanity care about the squabbles of those of the next life? Angels, demons, it was hard to explain but he was having a hard time figuring out the difference. They were all so ignorant and oblivious as to what a human even was, or at least the way he saw it. Ikaros had shown him this to be true she knew nothing of human emotion up to this point, and from what he was getting from her she didn’t understand it either. He assumed the same for any other angel but of course he had yet to one. This demon was hardly different if anything his idea was even shallower then that of the angels. Lower beings were what he got from him, in a way both races shared that aspect, just in their own way. Ikaros, did she think that of him truly? Did she think him to just be a chore, a child to protect? The thought angered him who the hell were they all to come here and act so high and mighty.

Axel snapped back to reality as the fox pounced on Ikaros. In instinct he raised his gun to fight once more, of course this time he had the ability to aim. Despite his better judgment he chose not to fire, what was she doing? Trying to alter his side? Interesting that she would attempt such a thing. He kept his gun aimed right for the foxes head his finger firmly on the trigger waiting for a moment to fire, a twitch, a sign, anything that would show some sign of an attack, and he would fire on this outside creature, This thing that did not belong in this world.

Axel let out a sudden breath as he felt as though the group was being watched. He lowered his gun just an inch as he started to look around the area. The feeling was so strange to him similar to what he felt about the demon threw Ikaros, but it was different. Another demon maybe or perhaps he was just being paranoid this connection with Ikaros had been a bit much to take in and it was starting to take its toll. He was so tired all he wanted to do at this point was sleep. He brushed the feeling off and returned to the task at hand waiting to fire.

He had not had another being touch him in such a gentle way in centuries. Kumori hummed, his fox fire burning hotter and brighter because of his content emotions. He closed his eyes for a brief moment, his head pushing against her hand in a genuine show of comfort. The Fox Demon did crave attention, she was right, as fox demons were created to seek attention. Their power grew from the fear and respect of humans and if humans forget about them or cease to fear them, then their power wains. Kumori's life went downhill after he lost the attention of the almighty and powerful Lucifer.

It was all Satans fault, everything. The loss of his tails, his shrine, and now this. An Angel trapped beneath his paws was petting him and he liked it. Kumori reopened his eyes, his piercing gaze resting on her own. He could feel the blood from her hand running into his fur and it made her touch even more pleasurable. The massive fox swished his double tails in an elegant ark, fox fire streaming behind them as they moved.

What was the worst that could happen if he followed this Angels advice and allowed himself to travel with her? Satan had already renounced him, so he was not a loss to the Lord of Hell. God could not accept him, but then Kumori did not want to be accepted by God. He wanted power and maybe a different tactic then fear needed to be employed. This Angel spoke of love and joy so earnestly, maybe that is what will return his tails to him.

Kumori flared the fox fire brighter then ever, momentarily turning into a burning white light of flames. He made sure to not allow them to burn the Angel but instead offered her the same warm and comforting feeling that he felt when touched by them. The flames flicked into a column that stretched far into the sky and then evaporated as fast as they had appeared.

The fox demon now stood in his humanoid form though with a single tail and ears atop his head. He gave the Angel a kind smile and pointed at her with his fan that had appeared from no where.

"I accept. But don't think I will bow to you or your God so easily. I do not like it I will go back to my shrine without a second thought" He spoke in a sharp tone, but his face revealed a hint of hesitation. He had no idea what he was doing anymore and for the first time in centuries he was taking a risk. Kumori had settled himself into a routine and these Angel's had disgruntled him. he was unsure of himself...but if this was his chance to grow in power once more, he would grasp it.

Kumori took a deep breath, a frown instantly marring his features. His ears pinned back against his head as his eyes searched the shadows around them, realizing for the first time whom that demon that he had carelessly thrown to the back of his mind was. Sukana was here and if that were true...she was not going to like his rebellion. He was about to use his fox fire to disappear form the vicinity, but he hesitated and looked towards the Angel. Crap, his new found allegiance to her was going to be tougher then he thought. Kumori remained where he was, muscles tense as he prepared from Sukana to reveal herself. Surly she saw that he had noticed her, he did not feel like calling her out to him.

Ikaros sighs softly with relief, closing her eyes as the warm flames fill her once again. They were so calming and beautiful. It made her more happy, though, to know that her words had lulled him into security. This was her chance; her chance to turn a demon to the Lord. What a wonderful sight that would be....As he transformed back into his human-like form, she sat up. Pushing herself up from the ground, she brushed away the dirt and sweat with her uninjured hand. Yet, at that moment, her hand was already piecing itself together. Needless to say, however, it still stung with pain. Yet, she showed no sign of this on her facial expression.

At his spoken words, she gave a slight nod. It was understandable; the desire to want a free escape from something which may be uncomfortable. But, she knew the demon would find no harm in staying with them. Only good could come from his decision, and she was much too glad that he accepted, anyways, to make an objection. But, it was at the same time she noticed his nervous features. It seemed the presence of the other demon bothered him. Stepping close to him, her soft green eyes peer curiously towards the shadow where she sensed this new demon. The soft feathers of her wings gently rubbed against the fox demon's arm as she pointed a delicate finger straight at the girl demon.

Although, wanting to get to know the fox demon a little bit more, it was obvious that would have to wait for a more appropriate time.
"You there! Demon...Have you come for war or peace?... Ikaros asked this, but was already much too sure of her answer. The offensive aura the women demon gave off showed her apparent distaste for the situation. This made her wings tremble, slightly, at the thought. To just barely escape a fight only to walk into another...What a shame...Her eyes also seemed to examine Axel, for a moment, as she waited for her answer.

He was very silent, strangely enough. But, she could hear his thoughts...And they disturbed her. Did he really believe that she cared so little of him? Perhaps that had been true when she first arrived but...It was much different now...The connection she had with him was deep...She did care about him, on a personal level...He was like...Well, as any human would put it, he was like family; someone to cherish and love and protect. She hoped dearly he could sense these feelings from her, for she did not want him to go on believing such things. But, if he couldn't, then the explanations would have to wait until later. There was trouble amongst them...

Ikaros wondered, also, could Axel really stand strong against a demon? All he held was that gun, was he any good with it? Even if he was...Surly it would be difficult to hit a demon with such a petty weapon...She would have to be sure to keep him safe...Luckily, in the fox demon's squabble with herself, he had taken to attention to Axel. But, that did not mean it would happen again...Things were beginning to get complicated...Not only had she a fox demon to protect now, with the grace of God, but a human as well...What were she to do?...

Satan gripped the edge of his throne tightly; his knuckles turning almost white from the hard grip and his thick black claws digging into it deeply. His long, snake like tongue slashed out in anger as he let out a mighty roar; his hoof smashing against the ground and sending the land of Hell trembling in his rage."How DARE you, Kumori!? How DARE you turn your back on me so easily!? I WILL destroy you! I will eat that tender fox flesh from your rotting bones!

Satan growls, emitting his rage to all of his demons. He would send every demon he could after that pathetic little fox, and drag him straight back to Hell! His first thought, especially, went to Sukana; being that she was so close. He made many promises of glory and praise if she were to bring Kumori back to Hell with her, and many horrific curses and tortures if she, too, were to turn her back on him. He would not lose his armies to these pathetic Angels! This pathetic God! He WOULD be God! Ashy smoke bellowed from his nostrils as a deep rumble of anger echoed through Hell.

At that moment, every demon felt an ice cold chill of fear run down their spines....

Sukana

"He would like to speak to you Kumori."

Sukana watched in amusement as Kumori easily turned his back from he-who-shall-not-be-named, so easily. This wanna going to end badly for him. The nervousness that was clearly written over his face showed that he knew that she was there and was afraid of what she might do. Sukana didn't have to do anything because he-who-shall-not-be-named kept taps on all his demons. High class to lower class. Sukana started to walk away but the sound of the angels voice brought her to a halt. And not too long after did the sound of he-who-shall-not-be-named called into her mind. He wanted her to bring Kumori to hell. If she did she would get praised. If not tortured. A small amount of breath escaped her lips usually know as a small sigh.

Sukana turned around and walked into the clearing where the angels, human, and Kumori stood. Completley avoiding the angel's question she made her way over to the fox demon. If you could call him that now. "He would like to speak to you Kumori." She was going to give him the chance to come with her, because she didn't really have time to fight a lower class demon like himself. Her human form was swallowing in the cool air the trees provided. Making sure she was in this form for awhile.

Surprisingly, the touch of the Angels wings did not repel him as he would have thought they would. They were comforting and warm, like his fox fire was. He still saw them as chicken wings though, but he no longer felt the urge to rip them to shreds like a fox in a hen house.

Kumori gritted his teeth as the demon, holding himself back from lashing out at her. He took a deep breath and smirked at her, flicking his tail back and forth playfully, "I have no interest in Him anymore, so He will just have to wait until I have time to answer his call"

The fox demon knew his words were not the best to be spoken allowed, Satan was more then likely paying attention now. It was strange, that now that he had renounced the Lord of Hell he was getting the attention he craved so much. It was enough to make Kumori almost giddy. So all he needed was a little rebellion to get his masters attention. He could do that, he could destroy everything Satan had worked so hard to build up. Maybe he would even get an appearance from the big guy, or maybe he would just sit, seething on his thrown.

The call Satan had sent out had hit him as it did any other demon, enough to make him tremble slightly, but because he had severed his allegiance...well, he no longer longed to answer the call. Satans words terrified him, but they also excited him. How long had it been since he had heard his name spoken from Lucifers lips? How many years had he wished to be called by his master...He would not be dragged back to hell as Sukana wished him to be. He would not give her the pleasure of being on Satan's good side, and he would not give Satan that power over him.

Sukana

"In pieces."

After Kumori's words, she was directly in front of him. She brought her hand up and grabbed his neck lowering his head to hers. Her cold skin on his hot body made sickening sizzling noises. Like a hot pan being rinsed with water. Sukana felt no affect but she couldn't say the same for him though. "I don't think I gave you an option." She said her voice was soft and light but as every demon that knew Sukana, it was everything but on the inside. Her blue eyes bore into his lavender ones. Until finally she released him of her grasp and turned to the angel.

"I'm borrowing your pet for a while." Sukana said. A fight would be unnecessary and pointless at the moment. Sukana would have predicted it either way. Sukana doesn't prance into a battle that wasn't needed. Unless the angel had a thirst for blood and sweat, then Sukana can put on a show for a while. But for now, she had a task "I can assure you that he would be back," Sukana started and looked down at the floor and her eyes flashed a crimson red before the earth crumbled and crack until a bottomless crater stood before them. She looked up and met the angel's eyes again. "In pieces."

When his head was pulled down to the she-demon, his pupils narrowed into thin slits. He ignored the pain that was brought from her hand on his neck, the icy touch burning his skin like he had touched dry ice. Oh how he would long to reach his claws into her eye sockets and rip her damn blue eyes from their place. He barred his fangs at her when she directed her attention to the Angel, disliking how she so easily dismissed him. He may not be classified as a demon no longer, but he was still the Fox King.

At the word 'pet', Kumori let loose a hiss of anger. He was no pet, especially to this Angel. He would have leapt forward at her, had she not created a sink hole straight to hell between them. He glared at it, then at her, trying to decide what she was trying to accomplish. Did she think it would be so easy to simply force him back to hell? He was not going to simple follow her, and Sukana could not defeat him! He smirked at her, his teeth glimmering in the light of the fox fire that glowed from his eyes.

Just as he was about to leap across the hole and rip her throat out, the Angel grasped his hand. He blanked, freezing up instantly. Kumori was not used to touching and if he did make contact with another being it was out of anger, not....protection or caring. He almost ripped his hand from her grasp, but...well he let it be for now.

As she spoke, he rolled his eyes at her words. Yes, yes, he had chosen to renounced Satan, yadda yadda yadda. This Angel surely liked to repeat herself. It was when her voice took on an almost demonic tone that his ears perked and he glanced at her, surprise written all over his face. So Angels could get dirty as well? Interesting. He looked back towards Sukana as the little Angel at his side let loose a ferocious power onto the area, the air around them seeming to have a mind of its own as it whipped by. He narrowed his eyes, his claws elongating as he prepared for Sukana's attack.

Kumori's brows raised as the demon backed off, unable to hold her form during the Angels bombardment. He held back a grin, happy that the Angel at least was of some use to him. Maybe he had choosen right after all, see as the demon seemed practically weak compared to the girl at his side.

When she stepped forward to plant a kiss on his cheek, his head reared back at the burning icy touch of her lips. He hissed at her once more, ears pinned back and tail puffed out. Oh, that was it. Kumori shot his clawed hands out to grab her, missing by a hair of an inch as she leapt into the pit. He almost leapt after her, but the tug of the Angels hand around his stopped him. He glared down into the pit as it pieced itself back together, a few seconds later resembling just another part of the road.

Kumori gritted his teeth and ripped his hand from the Angels, pushing his hair back from his forehead with frustration. He scrubbed his face, then slowly turned around to look at the Angel. Yes, right, okay...he needed to figure out what had just happened. He was no longer a demon, maybe not even a King, and he had banded wit this little chicken.

"Well. This is all your doing, chicken wings. What next?" He finally spoke, his voice laced with accusation. He knew it was not entirely her fault, he had chosen it willingly, but Kumori was not one for plans and this situation seemed to need one.

Axel watched the vents unfold and as the demon left from them he lowered his gun and his gaze. What could he have done? He saw how quickly she moved even if he managed to hit her he wouldn’t get away unscratched. He looked at Ikaros and how she acted when the fox was put in danger. Someone who had just been an enemy? It didn’t make sense to him none of it did. In over his head was an understatement, he knew it to be true. He turned to his weapon and holstered it as he turned from the scene and started walking off. He didn’t belong here.

He didn’t say a word to any one he simply left and headed to his home. Not really walking distance at this point but he didn’t mind he needed the time to think any way. He contemplated what it was he should do for a time. Ikaros was… odd. Something he had caused in a way, or at least he thought he did. This connection was a mistake, he thought, something that never should have been. He should of died today, he should of never left that ally way and had that been the end of it. Funny sense of humor this god she loved to mention so much had. To show him what he wanted most but to make sure it remained out of his reach. There was nothing he could do about any of this, just sit and watch as he always did.

His mind went blank as he finally arrived at his apartment complex. He stopped just shy of the door and just stood there almost empty. Same old place, he thought to himself. He couldn’t find himself able to move for a time, he simply stood there watching the door. As if expecting that when he walked threw he would suddenly wake up back in his bed in his normal and boring world. In fact when he woke up he knew it would be no different, angel or not. He had no place there among angel, demons, god and Satan. It wasn’t his thing, it never was, he had no place fighting some holy war it wasn’t his business. Let them kill each other for all he cared let them act as though they are guardians of humanity or the end of it, he didn’t care. They could think what they like in the end it wouldn’t matter. Let them be done with it and the world go back to the way it was.

He was snapped out of his trance as a young woman walked in front of him and to the building entrance. She raised a brow at his standing there and he recognized her as one of the room owners from further down the hall. He gave her a friendly smile and waved. “Long night.” He said as to explain himself. She smiled and waved back before walking in. He let off a light sigh and spoke gently to himself so no one could hear. “And life goes on.” He walked in a moment later and went to his apartment walking in and flopping down on the bed. How tired he was he simply passed out and drifted off to sleep forgetting his troubles and the new world they had presented its self to him that day. He would deal with it later, what he would do about Ikaros. He would figure it out in the morning.

Kumori flicked his attention to this new Angel, finally noticing her presence. He had sensed her earlier in his true from but had been too wrapped up in what was happening to pay her much mind. He stared, his peircing eyes taking her in as she spoke of protection. Him? Needing a Guardian Angel?

The fox burst out laughing, his tail swinging back and forth with mirth, "A-are you joking?" He managed to ask through his laughter, "You think I need your protection, little Angel?"

As if to further emphasize his point, Kumori stepped towards the blonde Angel. He grinned at her, forcing himself into her personal space and leaning down close to her ear, "I don't know who you think I am, but just because I may not be a demon any more does not make me anymore powerful. I can still hold you down and pluck each of those delectable feathers from your wings, one by one..." Kumori reached behind her as he spoke, running his claws through her wings delicately.

"Do not underestimate me, Angel" He purred into her ear, smirking as he took a step back and returned to a normal proximity.

Ikaros was not surprised when the demon melted into her true form and finally decided to retreat. It was much expected, even with her tough words. Demons naturally feared the Lord and his Angels. She was not much in the mood for playing with her, anyways, and also slowly released her energy as her body calmed. She was, however, surprised as the fox suddenly yanked his hand away from hers; quickly looking towards him with an almost hurt and confused expression. She had only did it out of protection...but apparently, he had not appreciated the gesture...

At the fox's question, she simply remained silent. Her eyes were glued to the grassy ground below. The grass was so green...She could even see some of the water droplets on the blades of grass that hadn't been dried up by the fox fire. Such beauty...Nature was so beautiful...All of these things, even the demons, were God's creations. He molded each of them from love...Why did it have to be this way? And Axel...She felt him leave, but did nothing to stop him. She wasn't sure what to do. She could sense his emotions; lost, confused...depressed....They all attached themselves to her like a heavy rock that weighed down on her heart.

What was she to do? Was she a bad guardian angel?..Yes, Axel had remained safe, but it was obvious he felt out of place...How could she possibly make him feel any different?...A few stray tears ran down her pale and perfect cheeks, as she finally looked up at the fox. Her soft green eyes were filled with sadness; so watery that they sparkled beautiful against the sun's light. Her sad expression was like a child's; something you looked at and instantly felt heart-broken, yet thought, at the same time, how cute and innocent that child looked at that moment. It was like watching a child have heart-break for the first time. That first pain...That first sadness...It was something like a sweet and sour candy.

Ikaros had never felt this sadness before...This loss of hope...This feeling out of place...It felt as if her heart were being ripped from her chest. She parted her lips to speak up to the fox; not sure what she was expecting to say. But, that was when Suzumi spoke up. Both of their attention was caught by her, as they glanced over. The fox did not seem to take a liking to this either, for he laughed wickedly and stepped forward, giving a small threat before running his dangerously sharp claws against her wings. It was then her silence was finally broken, as the tears had finally stopped falling and all that remained were the dry streaks on her cheeks.

"She meant nothing by it, Fox....We know you are strong...But there are many more demons than you, including Satan himself....We only wish to help you....Though you need not a guardian angel, that doesn't mean we can't watch over you....Come, Suzumi....Perhaps we should rest for the night....I'm sure the Fox will be fine until morning... Ikaros mentions this, as she slowly walks past the two. She does not make eye contact; she can't. Her mind was too fuzzy with thought...She was so tired...All of these emotions, they were surly wearing down on her...How she wished she could take back her actions and have stayed in Heaven...Then she wouldn't be feeling this way...All she wanted to do was close her eyes; sleep and not have to think anymore. No, angel's did not need to sleep, but she wanted to so badly at that moment...Just to have a moment to get away....

Her wings shutter, as she nods a curt farewell to the two. The sun was beginning to set and night was approaching...She had important business to take care off...Stretching out her wings, she thrusts herself off of the Earth and soars up into the sky. It isn't long before she lands at Axel's apartment, where she slowly walks to the door. For a moment, she stands there, as he did; staring at the door as if it held some answer to the universe...And then, she melted into the wall and into the building...The rooms were dark; it was silent....He had already gone to sleep...This realization only drifted her into a deeper depression, as she spotted him in bed. Yet, she made no motion of awakening him....Instead, she only silently moved to the living room to lay on the couch. The couch was soft...Definitely not as soft as the gentle clouds of Heaven, but ok, none the less....

The thoughts, that night, only seemed to continue to haunt her. For hours, she lay there on the couch, with her wings cramped up, rolling around and mulling over what had occurred during the day. Eventually, she had to force her body to simply go to sleep; closing her eyes tight and allowing nothing but blankness into her mind. Just a moment...Ikaros just wanted a moment away from it all....and soon, she had her wish....

Satan let his long claws click against his throne's arm impatiently as he watched the events unfold. Although, quite dissatisfied with them, he was happy to notice that at least one of his demons had remained loyal. Yet, she had still failed to bring back Kumori. And this did not make things much better...As she appeared in Hell, the familiar hot flames licked at her feet as if greeting her. His large, fleshy wings stretched out menacingly, as a low growl trembled from within him.

"And what do you think you are doing, Sukana? You dare return to Hell without Kumori? Or...have you come for something else? Did the Angel frighten you so easily?" He asks, the mere boom of his voice causing the dried and cracked barren land to shake and shift. He waits for her answer eagerly, narrowing his glowing red eyes; which appeared as mere pits of molten rock. He hoped she had a good excuse for her failure....
