Name: Lucas Trent

Nickname: Luke, Lou or Cass

Age: Seventeen

Gender: Male

Written Description: Lucas typically addressed by one of his many nicknames is a height of 5'11 and weighs somewhere around 190 lbs. A good-looking young man the first time he meet the orphan keeper Ms. Morgan she said that he was a heartthrob who reminded her of her first love. While extremely creepy on many levels Lucas had and still does take her words as a compliment. His hair is a natural dirty blonde coloring that sometimes appears more brown than blonde. He use to grow out his hair in the past but now his keeps it trimmed only needing to use a simple brush to maintain it. He's not a real gym buff and can eat like it's no one's business so his physique comes from him having a naturally fast metabolism and being a hyper-active teen. He isn't all rock hard abs and bulging biceps but he is definitely in shape. He's lean but strong. His fair-skin complexion is blemish free and has a light tan to it.

Personality: When it comes to Lucas there is more to him than meets the eye. At first glance he's just a pretty boy with a smile that could make you melt and leave you feeling all tingling on the inside. You would expect a guy who looks like him to be conceited and grade A douche bag but that's far from who Lucas is. All he wants is the people around him to be happy even if he himself is unhappy. He hates his past and doesn't want to think about the future so he just focuses on the here and now. He's all about making the best out of bad situations and having a good time. Since his time in Ms. Morgan's orphanage he has grown as a person and has matured as a side-effect of being around so many younger kids. He never had that good role model to look up to as a child so he tries to be that for the youngsters at the orphanage.

How long have you bee at the orphanage?
Lucas has lived at this particular orphanage for three and a half years.

History
Lucas was five when his parents were killed in home invasion gone bad. His parents had been murdered right in front of him and his older brother Dylan who was seven at the time. What his brother remembers about that night Lucas doesn't know as they have never spoken about it with one another. Lucas's memory of that night is shaken as he can recall only bits and pieces of that night. Some nights when he goes to sleep he was nightmares about what took place that night but the dream is never clear as thing get fuzzy and unclear. He'd been sent to several different therapists as child because of his nightmares and the overall conclusion of those visits were that Lucas suffers from PTSD and has brain has made him repress memories of that night to help him cope with the lost of his parents.

Lucas and his brother were separated after being thrown into the legal system. With the help of their social worker the boys have been able to stay in contact with one another but they were never placed in a home together. Whether it be because of his nightmares, lashing out or some other reason that the family's came up with nothing ever lasted. He would send a couple of weeks in one place get sent back and then put with another family that could work for a couple of months before he was a returned again and it just became a never ending cycle.

Slowly but surely Lucas closed himself off emotional from the families that took him in as he could no longer handle the feelings of rejection and abandonment he felt. He stopped wishing to be adopted and instead started dreaming of the day he could really be done with the system and go out on his own. Now he is just focusing on reaching his eighteenth birthday so that when he does he can leave the world of group homes and foster homes alone and just get a small crappy apartment with his brother Dylan. He hopes that after both him and his brother are out of the system they will be able to reconnect and get to know each other again. Instead of being pen-pals they could actually become like real brothers again.

So begins...

Corey had been in the orphanage for 13 years, and she was the biggest trouble maker of all of them. She liked to sneak out, go to parties, do drugs...anything to get her a little extra attention. She wasn't an attention hog, she just hated how many people were in the orphanage, and how they all assumed they were better than her because they hadn't been there their entire lives. Corey didn't mind, though. She knew all the people here, who's buttons to push, and how to get what she wanted. She was a troubled child, with a rough past and a crazy mind. Being bisexual didn't help the teasing much, either, as she was always either dating a guy or a girl, and never gave much thought to serious relationships. She was always moving from one person to the next, getting bored quickly, and moving on. Oddly enough, though, she was still (mostly) a virgin.

Corey had been sitting on the front porch when she saw a black car pull up the drive. Corey knew the car, it was the car of the social worker who usually brought the new kids to the orphanage. She was intrigued, trying to guess the gender and story of the person, wondering if he or she would even be old enough to understand why they were there. Corey looked around, the other kids enjoying the day outside, and none of them had even noticed the car pull up. Corey jumped off the 4 stairs, doing a bit of a wobble on her landing, and walked over to the car.

"Hello Miss Nash. Who do we have today?" Corey asked, looking into the tinted windows.

"Not now, Corryn. I'll speak with you later. Go back to whatever it was you were doing," Miss Nash told her, shooing her away from the door. Corey shrugged, and walked over to one of the only friends there, Lucas, and sat on his lap as he sat under the big oak tree in the front yard.

"New kid," She informed him, laying her head on his chest. From the minute he had gotten there, Corey had found herself attracted to this boy. He was different, and although she flirted relentlessly with him, he wouldn't take her bait.

Lucas sat in a chair watching an eight year old Evan finishing up his packing. As the younger boy closed and locked his last suitcase he turned and looked at Lucas who could see the tears swelling in the boy's eyes. Today was Evan's last day at the orphanage, he had been one of the lucky kids here who had found a family willing to take chance on him and give him a home. Evan released the deep breath he had been holding in "So I guess this is it. I can't believe am really leaving" as the first of the tears began flowing down the boy's face Lucas couldn't be sure if they were tears of sadness, joy or a mixture of the two. He nodded standing up "Yup. When you wake up tomorrow you will be in your own room in your new home." he gave the boy a hug and as Evan let the rest of the tears come out Lucas comforted him as he had done for others in the past. As the moment of crying ended Lucas grabbed Evan's two suitcases as the boy went into the bathroom to wash his face. Lucas waited by the stairs for Evan to come out the bathroom and when he did the two walked down the stairs to the main office were Evan's new parents sat patiently waiting for their new son. Lucas handed over the boy's luggage to his new father then looking over at Evan the two gave their goodbye hugs and Lucas walked with their orphanage mother Ms.Morgan, Evan and his parents to their car.

As the car pulled away Lucas and Ms.Morgan as he always referred to her parted ways she going back in the house and him going over to the oak tree that was planted in the front yard. He took a seat underneath the tree and closed his eyes. It wasn't like there was much peace and quiet when you had a bunch a little kids running around and screaming around you, but it was a nice day outside and so he just sat back laying his head against the tree bark as he zoned out all those around him. Lucas wasn't sure if he had nodded off but when he had opened his eyes again he found Corey sitting on his lap. "New kid" she stated simply laying her head against his chest. Lucas hadn't even noticed the arrival of the familiar black car the social worker drove. "And just as we lose one another enters" he said now curious on who this new orphan was. "So what's your plan for this one? Are you actually gonna try and make a friend here or just seduce and throw away" Lucas said looking at Corey suspicious. Corey was one of Lucas's best friends at the orphanage which meant he knew he well but her being the wild child of and all he could never predict what she was going to do next.

Zach was in no sense confident, and nor could he be seen as shy either. He was sort of an inbetweener now-a-days, as he wasn't at his best, nor was he at his worst, but he did have times where instead of having "the best of both worlds", he had a time where he was at his best, and another at his worst, but all depended on his mood really.

Sometimes he felt like a juggling ball, seeing as he was juggled between his parents, and then from his biological parents to adoptive ones, then to the social worker, then to one childrens' home to another. Mentally, he felt like he himself was juggling things in his mind which was indeed chaotic. Growing up, he wasn't a wild child, but nor was he a smart kid, and thinking about that, he wondered how things would of been if he held a solid ground then jumping from one ground to another. Not that the thoughts mattered, since they was only that, thoughts, random thoughts.

Since his adoptive parents died, he had been in care for three years, and in this time, he has done some mad things, but in his recovery cycle, he begun by staying close to himself, before opening up a little to others, being fragile at the time, but despite being at this particular childrens' home for a year now, seeing as the other one had him removed when he tried to end his life, he took things alot more calmly, and filled his head with fantasy ideas instead and jotting them on pad to write a better story for himself, which could not compare to the story he was writing himself with every action he took.

Though this was all fantasy, but in reality, when he was away from his room, he became acquainted with others will dwelt there. In the year that he'd been there, he had saw people come and people go, but the thing was, who'd want a troubled boy with a troubled past, and someone that had tried to kill himself....absolutely no-one, and who could blame them.

As he sat up, he heard a commotion from the other kids as they yelled inside to everyone else, "We have a new one coming in! Look! Look!", the young children's voices echoing through the House. So sweet, so innocent. it would be them that go next, while he stands up and walks to the window, looking out to see more people leave. What was the point of getting attached to others, if they only leave you, like everyone else.

Peering outside, he saw the familiar sight of the black car, the car belonging to the social worker Miss Nash. He remembered a meeting he had had with his social worker when he brought up the point of why he should bother attaching himself to others if they only detach themselves from him, though that tended to be the younger ones that tend to go, seeing as the way he was, he wasn't as open and sociable as the older kids would of liked, which is why Zach took things calmly and in his pace.

Peering to the left, he noticed the oak tree with Lucas and Corey, before looking back to the car. If it was someone young, then he'd go back to resting, but if it was someone older, then he should at least show himself rather than simply being a painting on glass like those seen in cathedrals and churches, though his painting would not be so colourful. His life was nothing extraordinary to talk about, which is why he tended to avoid it, as much as he know he shouldn't, or he'd never recover. He only had 3 years left, before they begun returning him to the real world. If only he could stop time, or even go back in time, save Soph, and everything would be back to normal. Despite the many years passed, he still remembered her.

It was a week after the fire. A week after the girl had lost everything that meant anything to her. She would remember that night always. The brightness of the flame still burned behind her eyelids and was there every time she blinked. She had been out with friends that night, partying like she did every Friday night the beginning of that summer. It wasn't until she came home that she realized that would be the last night of her normal life. The first site of her home that night was of it up in flames, the fire department had just arrived and was working on putting the fire out.

The investigation that followed that is what ruined what little the girl had left. Apparently the fire wasn't an accident. Apparently her family had lost everything before the fire. Apparently she had lost everything because of the fire. Her parents, her home, her clothes and everything else. Her car was taken away to pay off some of the debts her parents had, and Good Will had given her some 'new' clothes since all except what she had been wearing that night had burned.

It was in that little black dress that she first went to the orphanage. She wore it all the time, only wearing the nasty clothes when she had to wash her dress. She cut 5 inches of her hair off the night before, so short that it barely reached her shoulders. The girl figured that if she had lost everything else, why not her hair too?

Miss Nash, the social worker she had be given to, seemed nice enough, though Aly would never admit that. She hadn't admitted anything. Other than short, clipped answers to the police questions, she hadn't even said anything since that night, nor did she want to. Aly refused to speak or cry and just went through the motions to get her through the day, as she planned on doing for the next two years until she was out of this hell-hole.

Alyson had been showed a blueprint of the set up of the orphanage so she new the basic layout, but that was all she knew, other than the fact that she didn't want to be there at all. She sat, quiet as always, in the car on the way to the horrible place she was being forced to go to because she didn't have any relatives that she knew of.

"Here we are." Miss Nash said, still being friendly despite Aly's lack of responses. She stepped out, one black high heel touching the ground, then the next. Standing up, Aly pushed her sunglasses onto the top of her head to look around and sighed, clutching the purse she had to her chest. The police had been nice enough to let her keep her designer dress, shoes, purse, and sunglasses, but that was all she had left now. She put her sunglasses back on her face and followed Miss Nash into the horrendous, run-down building. There were kids everywhere and the place, although not dirty, definitely was not what she was used to. Kids were running up to her but Aly tried keeping her distance. "Everyone, this is Alyson, I'm sure you'll welcome her." Miss Nash said before leaving Aly in the midst of such chaos. People were shouting their names and saying hi, but she pushed past them to go back out, watching the black car drive away and leave her there, stranded, alone.

Lucas had still been sitting outside underneath the tree with Corryn when he saw Miss Nash leave the new resident to be swarmed by the army of little orphans. He knew that this whole thing had be a little if not completely overwhelming for their newest orphan and he felt that he should go and help her. He was about to go over and make his introduction when he noticed a tall and obnoxious Blake walk out of the house and joined the crowd that surrounded the new girl. If there was one person in the house Lucas didn't like it would have to be Blake and Lucas wasn't the type to dislike anyone but Blake just had that special something that just moved him the wrong way. Lucas decided not to move as he figured Blake would give the newbie a hand but as he saw Blake leave the girl as an even larger crowd grew around her he just rolled his eyes and sighed. He should have known it was to much of hassle for someone like Blake to lend a helping hand to anyone that himself. Looking at Corryn who was still enjoying her sit in his lap he motioned to the crowd "We should go meet over new member" he said lifting Corryn up with him as he got up off the ground.

As he got over to the group he saw that Zach being the nice guy that he was had taken it upon himself to try and disabled the hyper band of kids and get the new girl into the safety of the house. As Blake decided to prance back over Lucas just did his part to help Zach out as he sent kids away telling them to go play with toys and let the girl breath. As he turned back around he couldn't help but chuckle at the sight as Zach kicked a towering 6'3 Blake in a place that no guy ever once to be kicked. Unlike most of the other orphans who would be scared to laugh when something happen to Blake Lucas wasn't intimated by Blake. In truth the guy was only five inches taller than him and besides the guy defiantly deserved the kick and to be laughed at on top of that. Lucas followed Zach and the girl who's name he hadn't managed to get yet into the house leaving Blake outside with the little kiddies.

"I'm sorry about them. They tend to go overboard, though tends to be worse for the new lads who come in, though you want to watch out for Blake since he likes to make people look bad, and make them obey him. Silly, I know, but if there's anything you want to ask, then you can ask" Lucas gave a silent nod in agreeance "Yeah Blake's an ass. Don't worry you get use it." Lucas said leaning against a wall as he waited for the girl to say something. "Oh by the way my name is Lucas." he said with a smile hoping that him saying his name would get he to announce hers.

Alyson knew it probably hadn't been smart to hit anyone, especially not Blake, with her bag. She knew she shouldn't have lost and like that, and if Blake had been even a little nicer, she might have considered apologizing for losing her normally controlled emotions. However, Blake was just obnoxious and she knew they would end up clashing until one of them left because she faught back against people like him. Yes, Aly had been rich and popular, yet she had never been a stereotypical rich and popular person in the fact she didn't find pleasure in other peoples pain. When Blake kept going, Aly actually spit on him. It had only been a few minutes and she was already tired of this place, and mostly this guy.

While Zach was helping her, Aly was thinking that he was the only nice, helpful person there. Although she didn't really know him yet, she could already see the two of them becoming great friends. Of course, Blake just couldn't leave the two of them alone. She heard what he said about her friend but didn't really pay attention to it. The majority of the people here were here because those close to them ended up not to be very lucky, or else their kids wouldn't be in an orphanage. That's why she just brushed what Blake said off. However, the other guys words must have really gotten to Zach, because he kicked him in the nuts. If Aly hadn't been struggling with her emotions, she would have laughed because Blake had so deserved that.

Instead of saying or doing anything, Aly just followed Zach into the house. Another guy she hadn't seen before came in shortly after them, and Zach was talking. Too many things were going on at once and her mind wanted to explode. At some point before getting to the house, she had grabbed Zach's arm again, and when she realized she had been clutching it like it was the only solid thing in her otherwise spinning out of control life, she quickly let go. Her eyes turned to the other guy as he spoke; her eyes were wide and shiny because she was still working on reigning in her emotions again. There was only so much she could take.

"Aly." She said to Lucas with a small nod. He didn't seem too bad either, but she was still in her little shell. The only person she really felt comfortable in even thinking about coming out of her shell for was Zach after what he had done for her. She turned back to him. "Thank you for that." It was the longest sentence she had said all week. "Can I just see my room for now?" She wanted to try to get settled in, and maybe meet the roommate she was told she would have, before anything else happened. Also, she wanted to get far away from Blake and even the thought of him.

Blake Hardie

Since being responsible for his fathers' death after everything he had done to him and his mother, Blake had never lost his touch or determination to stick up for himself. In a way, he admired little Zach's courage to confront himself with the crowd he had assembled and for his little voice to sqeak, to do what he thought was right. However, in such a cruel word, it was truly black and white, this or that, bad or good. The world painted a colourful rainbox to show that despite what has happened, you can easily turn back and do something in your life, but you couldn't change the past. What had happened would be remembered for the rest of your natural born lives and would be engraved in your hearts until it stopped beating. Blake was not afraid to speak his mind, not afraid of the staff who were above him either since he could take them on anyday. As for their stupid penalty system, well, it was pathetic and he broke it everytime, like the curfew. It wasn't hard to creep out a ratty place like this and go pub if you really wanted and have some good times, as long as you had money. Luckily for Blake, he had a nice load of money tucked away in the office which didn't belong to him, but he didn't care. Live life to the full, that's his motto.

This new girl pops up like the rest and just stands there. She mightswell of had her arms open and telling everyone to rush to her and take a piece out of her rather than standing there helpless. Life was tough and Blake was even being easy on her as he could of given her a much more...personal greeting. Maybe he could do that another time, seeing as she had disappeared with Zach inside, as well as Lucas while the other kids crowded round as he told them all to "Back off will ya!", after Zach decided to get nasty. Well, if this is what he gets for being friendly, then like everyone who gets on his bad side, he would pay, and like always, he wouldn't react straightaway, but instead wait for the opportune time to strike, and right now, his weakness was the girl it seemed, since he had left the safety of his room which he had couped up in.

He'd get his own back, but right now he was going to chill as he put one arm round one girl and pulled her towards him as he kissed her cheek, before pulling a guy towards him with his other arm and doing the same, seeing as they seemed to be the older ones of the bunch round him who were still wrapped around his large fingers. With so many children, there was many choices and despite being a guy himself, even the guys had to be careful round him as the fact he was another guy didn't even protect them either unless they fought back or became more wiser. "Now, if you two can do what I say, I'll....leave you and your mates alone for a week", grinning. A week wasn't much but having fresh air helped, and with Blake out the way, they could be free, though for Blake, his main concern was the new girl and Zach and those that were rebelling against him unlike these guys so he'd naturally leave them anyway. Servants were nice to have around anyway, as it would give him a chance to relax without having to do everything himself, or he could get them to be his pawns.....oh the possibilities! and how cruel he was.

Zach Holsden

He didn't know what came over him when he thrusted his foot where the sun didn't shine on Blake. Most likely everything happening at once was getting to him; with how the crowds were surrounding Alyson, then Blake stirring things up and making her cry, and then his attack on him. Zach disliked how people took advantage of others and then he goes to disgrace him instead to try and get him to stop being protective over the new girl and indeed stir up a good old fight, but it weren't going to happen. Blake might have others round his finger, but he didn't have him, despite how Blake digged into the lives of others and using others to get information as well for him to use, which was something else to be weary about. He couldn't wait till Blake left.....maybe if he got him to do something naughty and have cameras catch him, then he could be sent elsewhere as they'd have proof. Zach was smart when he wanted to be, but right now, he was concerned about making sure Alyson was alright, then hanging around Blake who would no doubt come after him now.

He smiled as he heard Lucas as he turned to him, glad to have someone else supporting him. He wondered why some kids he had asked to move but didn't, before moving a little later on. It seemed that mystery was solved, "Yeah Blake's an ass. Don't worry you get use it...Oh by the way my name is Lucas", as he turned back to Alyson as she spoke in response, "Aly", before turning to him, "Thank you for that..Can I just see my room for now?". Well, she seemed alot better than she was which was good, as before she was clutching onto his arm which he didn't really mind since he could then easily guide her away. Perhaps now she could get some rest now and with the kick he gave Blake, he no doubt would cool off for a bit, before he returns ever more feisty.

Zach smiled, "Sure, I'll take you", to be sure she got there without no more trouble, before he turned to Lucas and tilted his head to the right towards the staircase with a straight face as he asked, "You coming up Lucas?". There was no doubt in his mind that Blake would be in soon, and seeing as Lucas had been helping him, he didn't want Lucas to get the blunt of it when he came in. Despite all he had been through personally, as well as everything he himself he had done, he had quite the big heart so when he motioned him to come up with him, it was more of a request to come up.

Turning back to Alyson, his smile returned, "Come on", as he begun walking up the stairs, glancing there and then to make sure Aly was alright since she seemed to prefer being called that, before explaining, "Your with another girl, her names Jane, so she'll be your roommate". He would say older girl since Jane was older than him, but didn't know if Aly was the same age, though he was guessing younger due to how she arrived but he wasn't sure since she had hit Blake from what he noticed.

Alyson Young

Aly was still trying to take in everything that was going on. Her emotions were still all over the place and all she could think about was how she had never felt this vulnerable or weak. She also knew that that would have to change very soon because she knew Blake, and probably some of the other people here, would take that and use it against her. That was why she knew she had to resort back to being the old snobby popular girl she was so used to being. Honestly, losing everything had changed her, she didn't feel much like being mean, but she also knew that would probably be her best sort of defense in this place. Currently, she was only open to being nice and vulnerable around Zach, she couldn't do any more than that.

Zach's smile seemed to ground her. Her thoughts were all over the place, yet she felt she would be ok because at least she already had a friend in all of this mess. She listened to his interaction with Lucas, and nodded to what he said about her roommate. Jane. that was a nice name. Maybe her roommate would be nice. But after everything that had happened to her, she couldn't count on her luck being that good.

Needing to be grounded, Aly did the only thing her mind could think of to calm herself down again, and grabbed Zach's hand. Her mind was too scattered and she needed to calm it down to pull herself together so she didn't completely fall apart here.

Once upstairs, Aly followed Zach down the hall. She noted to herself where the bathroom was and how many doors before they got to her room. She was kind of surprised when he stopped outside of a room with a "NO BOYS ALLOWED!" sign on it. Was her roommate some little girl who still believed in cooties, cause that's what it seemed. Alyson was just about to open her mouth and ask exactly how old her roommate would be when he opened the door. Standing before them, or at least sitting on the bed there, was a girl who looked at least her age, if not older.

Calling upon her older, snobby self, Aly gave a small cough. "I want the bed by the window, you're going to have to move your stuff." She said. She had dropped Zach's hand when the door was opening, and she knew he would notice the difference in her attitude and her tone, but she really wasn't going to risk letting anyone other than him in to hurt her.

Jane McKenzie

All Jane did was watch the commotion outside. Her bed was placed right next to the window, so it was like front row in a theater. She even cracked the window slightly so that she could hear what was going on.

Honestly, the girl admired Blake. She like his uncaring attitude and how he just did whatever he wanted without a care in the world, for the rules or anyone he may hurt in the process. She just wished she could be like that, and if she hadn't been raped, she would definitely have liked to actually try to join with him in the torment of absolutely everyone. However, because of the raping for four years, she couldn't trust any guy, especially not one like Blake, because she was scared of something happening, especially something she would normally have liked to happen if not for the past.

All of that was why Jay just watched from a distance. She could admire Blake from a distance as well. Heck, she did everything from a distance. That was exactly why it was easy for her to let out a chuckle and not get on Blake's bad list when Zach punched Blake where the sun didn't shine.

When she saw Zach lead the new girl, who's name she hadn't caught, inside, she figured they would be headed up to the bedroom soon. There was a "NO BOYS ALLOWED!" sign on the door, but she figured Zach would ignore it; after all, most people did ignore the sign and just walked right in anyways.

She heard their footsteps coming closer and was closing the window as the door was opening. Glancing over, Jane noticed the blonde girl and her party dress and heels. From the moment her roommate opened her mouth she hated her. "I don't think so. I was hear first, you can take that one." She said, standing up and going over to the people in the doorway, keeping them from entering. "Or, if you want to cause problems, I'll just go get Blake to handle you. You've met him, right?" She knew she couldn't get Blake to do anything, although helping him plot would be fun, she just knew Aly wouldn't know anything about how this place was ran.

Zach Holsden

They had begun to walk up the stairs, with each step distancing them from Blake and his league of followers or pawns, as he seems to see them as. Afterall, Blake didn't have a care in the world, he didn't care what people thought and as a result he felt no shame. He accepted the facts and moved on rather than dwelling on it and was always...so....stuck up. Zach on the other hand could never be like that as he always feels for the others and wants to protect everyone, but the fact is he wasn't strong enough to take on Blake. He even makes the Head Carer and the staff ensure they are a quite a few paces from him and not to get in his bad books as he sure was a handful.

Zach was easy and took things simply. Where Blake was care-less, he was care-ful, and just as he led Aly to her room after taking her away from Blake's grasp, he felt good that he had helped her, even if having her cling to his arm was strange. However, it didn't stop there as he felt her hand grab for his, and to prevent his fingers from getting squashed or the real reason of getting a better hold, he lifted them up so while she sought a helping hand, he would provide comfort and security, even if he wasn't the toughest in the house. He wasn't used to such close-quarters however, as he had often stayed separate and when he become to come out of his shell more, he still remained distant, and now all of a sudden, he had a girls hand to his and he couldn't help but blush a little as he wiped the thought from his mind. She was new and wanted a shoulder to lean on, somebody she could rely on and be her strength, that was all. Lucas would probably tease him afterwards, if not him, maybe some of the other lads but he didn't care. Afterall, it was his personality that drew people to him like a magnet and as such, he was the go-to person for support. Nothing special.

By the time they approached the door, his thoughts faded and his cheeks returned to their usual colour as he got used to holding anothers' hand, before the hand fell back down as soon as the door opened. Zach remained stationary after opening due to the sign, since he was one of those who respected what other people want, as he saw Jane approach and then Aly, if it was still Aly, ask or demand the bed near the window. In response Jane replied with a straight-forward no, "Or, if you want to cause problems, I'll just go get Blake to handle you. You've met him, right?".

Now it was time to go, as he hated to be part of arguments, though he wondered what had happened to the Aly he had saw shedding her tears, where had she gone. Best get out of there before he made himself look stupid. Time to make himself scarce, after he said one more thing to hopefully stop the thought of Blake getting to her so he could be at peace, "I know its not my place", seeing as he was younger than Jane, "but you wouldn't want to do that, specially since he's in a mood", thanks to him but ah well, least she was safe, if she was still there, "and he might not be satisfied with just one as you know....anyway, I'll be going now". He had spent too much time round girls now, as he looked to Aly, "I'm at the end of the corridor if you need me", he mentioned with a smile, before also passing that warm smile onto Jane, hoping that the girls would at least be good while he was there as he turned away and walked down the hallway, beckoning Lucas to come in tow. When they were away from the door and at elast a good few feet away, Zach then looked to Lucas being the older male and asked quietly, "Why are girls so confusing?"....

Aleta was sitting in the back seat of a dark blue car, in the drivers seat her social worker, Maria Carter, was driving towards the orphanage, her home. Seriously she didn't think she be back here again but trouble just seemed to follow her. She had her headphones in her ears and was looking out the window when she felt a few taps on her knee. Looking over toward the front she saw Maria was trying to talk to her, with music blasting through her ears she could't hear anything. After a few minutes she decided to take her head phones out with a smirk to her face "Sorry Ms.Carter what did you say, had music in my ears", she heard a sigh come from Maria, the woman was shaking her head. "Aleta, you only have a couple years until you are on your own. You need to start growing up, we won't always be there to pick up the pieces" she heard the sterness in the womans voice but dismissed it by putting her headphones back in her ears and listening to the song Perfect by Pink.

15 minutes later she felt the car stop, she opned the door grabbing her bags she looked to the orphanage and whispered "home sweet home". Maria didn't stay long and soon she was left along again to walk up to the house. She saw many kids in the front yard, one she recognized, even though she has been gone for almost two years, she didnt change much, she often died her hair crazy colors, her hair no was black with teal highlights, and she liked to keep it long with layers. As she got closer she gave a sly smile to Blake "Hey Blakey 'member me" she gave him a glare, remembering the many arguments they got into when she was last here, how he tried to show her whose boss and she spat at him and walked away. "Thought you woulda heen out of here by now" she whispered then walked off towards the house. She heard many of the kids whispering Leta's back, ReI-Rei (which many of the little kids called her), wonder what she did this time...the same old shit, different day she thought to herself as she opened the door and headed upstairs to her old room but before she got there she ran into Zach and Lucas. "Well guess whose back boys, two years to long eh? How you two been, anything new?" she asked as she went to the door where the sign "No Boys Allowed" taped to the door. "I see Janey is still here, will be good to get back into the norm" she tried to hide her emotions, putting up a fake appearance, yes she was kinda happy to be back but she was also sad because she knew she will never trully have a mother and father that cares for her, a slight frown formed on her face as she got thinking but quickly put her emotions back away and put on the fake smile once again

Lucas took Zach offer to follow him as he escorted Ally to her new room, it's not like he had anything better to do at the moment. After everything that had happened outside Lucas hoped that all drama would be over at least for the rest of the day. As soon as the three reached Aly's new room however it was clear that the drama going on in the orphanage was far from over as the two girls Aly and Jane immediately got into a cat-fight over the bed by the window. Lucas knew better than to get involved in an argument between girls as it never ended well for the guy, unfortunately Zach didn't seem to realize this as he for reasons unknown to Lucas decided to get involved. Leaning against the door frame he watched the three individuals conversant as he just stood in the background quietly observing all. Once Zach had said what he needed to say he made his leave and motioned for Lucas to follow which not wanting to stay in the war zone Lucas did following Zach into the hallway.

"Why are girls so confusing?" Zach asked as he turned and looked at Lucas which Lucas couldn't help but chuckle at the question. "That is one of the few questions that no man will ever have the right answer to my friend" Lucas said ending his response with another chuckle. He was about to head back downstairs when Aleta one of the orphans that last time he checked had been adopted out of this place spoke to him and Zach. "Well guess whose back boys, two years to long eh? How you two been, anything new?" Lucas shrugged "You now how it is around here. Kids come kids go and sometimes old friends return" he said with a smile "Nice to have you back Leta." Hearing Aleta voice in the halls brought Jane out of her room and the two old friends embraced each other which made Lucas smile. Even in an orphanage it was possible to meet people who actual cared about you and who you could form a real friendship with, Aleta and Jane were a good example of that.

When Blake joined in on the upstairs conversation Lucas couldn't help but let out a sigh of annoyance, why did this dude always have to show up were he wasn't wanted. Of course in true Blake fashion after the incident with Zach outside he had went through the trouble of acquiring minions who stood directing behind looking like wannabe bodyguards. Lucas's attention was quickly shifted from Blake's new found pets to the drama unfolding in the girls room. He walked into the room just in time to see Aly tossing Jane's things out of the window, leaning against the wall Lucas looked to Jane to see how she would react. Aly however didn't give her a chance to as she left the room immediately afterwards and disappeared down the stairs and out of the house.

Lucas turned and exited the room leaving Jane and Aleta only to find the second round between Blake and Zach going down. He wasn't sure what was going on with this house today but it seemed everywhere he turned something bad and if he was being honest quite interesting was happening. Lucas just watched as everything yet again began to unfold. He hadn't been paying much attention to Zach and minions but as Aleta walked out of her room and made her way downstairs Lucas followed not wanting to miss a second of what ever was about to happen. It didn't take long for Aleta to locate Aly and the second she did she grabbed the blonde teen by her dress and went straight to the threats. Lucas was a second from going against his better judgement and pulling Aleta off of Aly when Aly spoke on her own behalf making it clear that she wasn't about to be pushed around. As the girl freed herself from Aleta grip she headed back into the house and Lucas knowing this fight wasn't over just yet he followed behind Aly.

Jane

Jane watched what went down between Blake and Aleta, still curious as to what her only real friend was hiding from her. She was just about to leave and help Leta torture the poor blonde witch when Blake stopped her. It was one thing to have him in her room, that she was getting better at, but when he put his arm around her, her insides cringed. They all knew her adoptive father used to rape her, that had easily gotten out in the open; however, they didn't know his friends would pay to rape her as well, which really left her scarred far more than she was ready to admit.

When Blake threatened to kiss her, it was too much for Jane. Yes, she knew he would keep his promise if she resisted, but at the same time her nature made her resist being so close to someone, especially someone like Blake. For a second, Jay stood there in silence, her gaze on what was happening outside the window but her mind on the guy so close to her. It was reflex to punch her arm down and hit Blake where the sun didn't shine for the second time that day.

After she was safely away from him, Jay was able to think more clearly and calm down a bit. "I am so sorry Blake, just don't touch me." Everyone there knew she hated being touched, especially by a guy, and she also knew that was exactly why Blake usually tried to touch her because he was the type of person to play on a person's weakness.

Alyson

When the younger blonde followed Aly into the house, she was unsure of what to think. Part of her wanted to tell her off because of how mean everyone else was being, but then part of her was thinking the girl really didn't seem that bad so wanted to give her a chance.

Since she took too long to respond, the girl was already talking and then leading her up to Zach's room. Alyson was in shock. All she could manage was a small "Thank you" before the girl, who said her name was Alice, told her to get moving before they both got into trouble. Ducking inside the room quickly, Aly locked the door so no one like Blake or anyone could get inside. Although Aly was still extremely close to tears, the tears were held at bay by Alice's nice act, and being with Zach.

it wasn't until then that Aly finally looked and saw Zach. "Alice helped me get up here." She said softly, sinking down to the floor, careful not to show him her thong since she was in a rather short dress. Her eyes, for the first time since entering his room, looked up and found his. She wasn't sure how much longer she could take this place!

As Alyson entered the room that Lucas, Zach and Blake all shared seeing as they were the oldest in the orphanage he could hear the sound of the door lock. He felt the desire to press his ear to the door and hear what was going on but obviously that would have been the rude and wrong thing to do so he just went back downstairs. He was on his way out the front door when the sound as Ms.Morgan's voice made him stop short. She called the seventeen year over "Giving the new .. and well old faces coming into the orphanage I want to do something special for dinner tonight. Here take this and head down to the store for me. When you get back just leave the things on the counter." the woman said giving Lucas a list of groceries and the money to pay for them. "Where do you want me to put the change?" he asked knowing that when you put things down around here they went missing for ever. The woman shrugged "You keep it. Pay for the help" she said turning around and walking away. Lucas wasn't about to argue being given money so he just turned and walked out the house.

Lucas was walking down the block when he felt someone's hands on his shoulders followed by the weight of someone jumping on his back and a giggle. "Hey there Lukey. Haven't seen you in a while" a smile grew on his face as he figured out who the person was by the sound of her voice. "Yeah I know Cassie. Sorry but orphans don't get many privileges." he said as he continued walking down the block with the girl on his back. "So am gonna be seeing you and Corryn at the party tonight?" she asked curiosity. Lucas wasn't even aware that there was a party going on tonight but if he could sneak out of the orphanage tonight he was defiantly going to be there. "If you can get me the address I will try to be there" he said as they got to the front of the supermarket. Cassie jumped down off of Lucas's back and walked with him into the store.

The first party Lucas had snuck out to go to was with Corryn. He had caught her sneaking out and she had made him a deal that if he promised not to rat her out he could go with her. That is how there whole friendship started and since then Lucas had made a habit out of sneaking out and going off to parties. To this day he had yet to get caught by Ms.Morgan and he wasn't sure if it was just good luck on his part or if he was just really good. Lucas and Cassie walked around the supermarket picking up the items on the list and dropping them into the cart. When they got to the checkout Lucas paid for the groceries and stuffed the change in his pocket. When the cashier handing him the receipt Cassie took it and asked the cashier for a pen. After receiving the pen Cassie wrote down the party information on the back of the paper then handing the pen back to woman behind the register she handed Lucas the receipt "Let's hope you can get out tonight" she said with a sly smile.

Cassie walked with Lucas back to the orphanage helping him lug the bags "home". Once outside she house she gave Lucas the bags she was holding and then gave him a small hug and kiss on the cheek. "Try and get out tonight Luke. I really wanna hangout tonight" she said walking away. Lucas watched her walk away and once she about half way down the block he turned and walked across the yard into the house.

(OOC: Just to put things into prospective for Aleta. Jack is currently outside to help Leta, later joined by Alice after delivering Aly to Zach. Just so we know where charries are. As for the rooms, Blake wouldn't be one to share)

Blake Hardie

Time flew ever so quickly. He could still remember the year before as if it was yesterday. Not alot happened you see. The same thing happened with prospective adoptive parents coming along to visit and then taking away the youngest child. Sometimes an older one would get lucky, only for them to come back just like Leta did. If the kids of these forsaken orphanage didn't get it yet, then there were too much involved in that fantasy land of theirs. They could try and hold onto their dreams, but the thing was, they lived in reality and not their world where they could fly with the birds and sleep on clouds where angels played their harps. Life was not so great. Dreams do not come true. Once your time has come, it has come, and every passing moment is like a fleeting dream.

Blake was no poet but the words sounded like cymbals crashing, waking them all up to the reality. Everyone had a secret, some of them a dirty little secret, some that could be shared, some that were kept private. Either way, what happened had happened, and if it wasn't Blake that digged it out, then surely it would be a future employer. They all had to learn and in a way, Blake was helping them for when they leave this place. There were worser people than him around. Take Zach for example. His attack sure came to a surprise since he's usually standing by, occassionally stepping in, but kicking out and successfully getting its target, why some other person would have beaten him up already. Still, as long as Blake was the King of the Castle, then that's what mattered. He continued to rule here. It was his turf, and each knew their place, even if there were those who didn't like it. They'd learn.

Blake knew that Jane wasn't keen on having a guy round her. However, she had to get used to it. They'd be plenty of guys once she leaves this place who would occassionally put an arm round her. Boy, won't they be in for a cracking time, especially since he knew that she wouldn't hold it in for long and then hit them where it hurts like she did to him. She had to pay, she really had to pay, as he waited for her to yell at him, but instead there was silence before she then spoke, "I am so sorry Blake, just don't touch me". Blake however was the type to take pain and not show it, instead revealing a smile, "You know, your kinda cute when your angry...", before straightening his smile, "But seriously now, you can't reject every guy can you?".

Deciding to take a few more steps, Blake stepped forward as he continued speaking, "As I keep trying to tell you all, this world is cruel. You can't dream your problems away like some, and you can't avoid your problems either. Your bound to run into more guys once you leave here you know...Sure you have Leta now, but they'll soon split you up, as they have split up countless others", laying a finger on her cheek to stroke, before turning around and leaving her before she got a chance to aim at him again, peering out the window to see Leta outside with his minions guarding outside. A smile re-appeared.

Zach Holsden

As he looked out the window and watched all that went on below, how Alice kept her word and spoke with her, and then Leta pushing her to the wall. If only he were stronger....if only he were the way he was before, before everything went wrong. He had the belts, he had the training, and would surely of put Blake in his place, and not upset her, and now she was getting attacked by all sides. Just when he was thinking about rushing out, neverminding what happened, he saw Aly strike back with the same fire she had when she struck Jane. She had come to the orphanage so calmly, so friendly before being broken by Blake's antics and now he was totally confused. It was why he asked Lucas why girls were confusing. "That is one of the few questions that no man will ever have the right answer to my friend" was his response.

Lucas was such a friendly guy and helped Zach out. Like Zach, he too despised Blake and how he affected the rest of the orphanage. If Blake was brought down, then perhaps the orphanage would return to being free again and not so restricted and having minions like Alice and Jack to do what they are told by him, when they should all be free. When he looked back out the window, Aly had gone and only Jack and Leta remained. Where had she gone? Was she ok? He hoped so as Alice weren't there, and she was honest to her word, but like him and everyone else, they were trapped.

Just then, all suddenly, the door behind him swung open before being slammed shut again. Zach turned away and immediately saw Aly as she looked to him, "Alice helped me get up here", which made him smile to see Alice hold up her end of the bargain. Looking out the window again, he saw Alice back outside so it didn't look suspicious. She would be safe now. Give everyone else some time to calm down before going back out, as he turned round back to her as their eyes met. Inside his head, he deliberated on what he should do. It had felt strange when she had held onto him and held his hand before, since he had kept his distance since Sophie.

However, what she needed now was cheering up, just like what he had when he was down. As such, he approached her and sat against the door so he was next to her, putting his hand tentatively on her shoulder, feeling all shy, "Are you alright...?", he asked for starters. He didn't see himself as a counselor but all the counselling sessions he had, they first wanted him to express his feelings first before they begun the recovery, so he'd begin by seeing how she felt first.

Blake Hardie

Just when someone thinks they know somebody, the best thing to do is to do the unexpected. Never show your weakness. Make your weakness your strength. Do not be predictable. The unexpected and strength will undoubtfully install fear and respect with little to worry about, and having such would show superiority, superiority that Blake had. Knowing what to do to make someone tick is also useful, especially when there are those who rise against the established authority. In Blake's eyes, he had mastered it all, or at least passed to a high standard and not far off from perfecting them.

He did not care if there were those at the orphanage that hated him. So what if his experience was not as bad as others. He would not, under any circumstances, allow himself to fall even more. If it meant treading on many to avoid falling, then that is what he will do, and besides, having the power felt great. All he had to do was mention how he'd love a cup of orange juice and one of the younger kids would get him one. He was like a King, each knowing that he would do something if he was not pleased, and by today's events, they saw Zach and Alyson being the top of his hitlist. The fact that Jane had kicked him where she shouldn't of, perhaps she too knew that he would do something, but even after he had pulled away, she simply sat on her bed and said not a word.

No reaction, yet it seemed by her sudden movement that he seemed to of got a reaction. Afterall, she was quick in biting back earlier, but now she was silent as a mouse. In a way, he wished he could hang around these guys for a little while longer. He only had a year, and then the stupid guys who think they have all the answers, will try to convert him to be acceptable to society. The thing was, it was society that threw him away in the first place and been rejected by many from society, so why should he bother forgiving them and living among the heartless crowds. If no one was there to take him for who he is, then he would stand his ground. That was his strength, remaining undeterred. However, if these younger idiots kept dreaming or avoiding it all, they'd be in even bigger trouble or lose the person they truly are if they don't accept it when they leave this place. This wouldn't last forever, as Blake's time drawn closer and closer to an end.

Leaving the window, he turned back to Jane, taking note of how she were positioned and how silent she was, and said, "You need to be strong Jane. Your 17 now, and only have this year and the next left here, before you must face the world as I will. Time....sure does fly when having so much fun", grinning. He walked back over slowly till he was beside her, but did not face her, "I hope you will learn your lesson before it is too late, as you won't have me putting you in your place when the year is out. You'll be the oldest then, yet here you are asking for trouble to come to your door", smirking, afterall, he was trouble, "Keep trying to push guys away will only make them want to push themselves to you more....".

He turned slightly, as his thumb gently rode down her cheekbone, shortly followed by a peck on the cheek by Blake's lips, before he stood back up and immediately moved aside, approaching the door and ripping down the sign she had up there. "Accept what the world is like, and you might just have a chance at surviving it...", he exclaimed with his eyes glaring at hers.

Afterwhich, he left the room and headed downstairs to see what would be for dinner today, only to see Lucas enter. He had interferred along with Zach, yet he had done the right thing to stay out his way. He'd give him that. "Need help with those bags Lucas? I'd hate for them to break you down", not helping himself to give a smirk as he reached the bottom of the stairs, before his smirk straightened, "but seriously now, is there...anything I can do for you?". If it wasn'y by strength that Blake got what he wanted, or mind games like he had given Jane, doing the unexpected also could work. Maybe he could see what Lucas felt about the new gal, not to mention how he was the one who pushed more people away since Zach's still so young and naive and stupid, yet he was her knight in shining armor it seemed. Maybe he could get Lucas on his side....not that it was needed, but would take away somebody to defend Zach.

Zach Holsden

As he looked to her after taking a leaf out his counselor's book, he noticed that she looked away, so the best thing to do what let her have her way. He could remember himself on the floor with his legs glued infront of him, fastened by his tied-up arms, with his head buried beneath them, refusing to see or acknowledge anyone. No amount of counselling would take away his pain, but it did help calm him down, to help him move on. His circumstances were alot different to hers, as he just kept his face down as he wanted nothing, unlike Alyson who had asked, or rather demanded the bed near the window. He knew he shouldn't of got involved and now had glares of Jane as a result, he just didn't want things to get out of hand and now she had been through a virtual hell of a first day. As a result, even he had been pulled in, but right now, he didn't care. They have no right, and shouldn't have a right to break down a newcomer in such a way, when they barely got to know her.

He knew she wasn't alright, but didn't have a clue what to say or what to do. Sure he could be friendly and help someone get around, but comforting someone and getting close to someone as a result was totally different, especially since the last person he did close to had passed on and left him forever. However, he had to be strong. "I'm...alright...", she replied, no doubt trying to be strong also, even if she didn't sound like it and not with a tear as clear as crystal. "Honestly....I feel like I've just been shoved off the top of a 30 storey building, pushed by a truck into railroad tracks where I was hit by a train going full speed, then shoved into a hospital where, instead of giving yo something for the pain, they pur salt all over your wounds. That's how alright I'm doing".

Quite descriptive, and with each description, it wasn't just words, but with all words, he pictured it. It was all true since she had come with arriving from her past which must of been terrible to come here, and then being thrusted into someone and Blake making her feel unwelcome, before the whole fiasco in Jane's room because she wanted to sleep somewhere that she felt safe no doubt, and then Leta threatening her. His arrival wasn't as bad as her's, but he did feel for her, and didn't know what to say. Nor did he want to get close to another girl, but she needed it more than anything as he moved his left arm round her to hold her and pull gently towards him as he spoke softly and sincerely, "..and so, you close your eyes, you cry, for you have a heart, and your tears erase the salt from your wounds, and then you rest for tomorrow's another day", continuing her story.

Zach couldn't help but be emotional also, as he felt useless not so long ago when Leta had pushed her to the wall, but then again, it was that thing about girls that he'd never understand that Lucas told him of. He wasn't shedding tears as she was, but could probably tell by looking into his eyes that he was sad, before he spoke up again, looking towards the window to prevent her setting him off due to the way he was, "I'm sorry.....about everything. It's probably best now to keep a low-profile while everything settles down, especially on the first day", seeing as everyone wants her, "I can help you, and Lucas will too. He's alot stronger than me....but if it really gets too much, then tell me, and I'll ask Ms Morgan ask Miss Nash about a transfer for you. No-one deserves to put up with things like this everyday, since you must of been through something terrible to get here in the first place....I'm...sorry", losing the words to speak. This wasn't his thing. Sure she had changed totally when with Jane, which is why he told her to have a low profile, but whatever she's been through, if it all kept up, she'd maybe have a restful time in another place, though he would prefer her to stay. As well as not letting Blake win. He only had a year to go. He just had to toughen up is all....

Jane

Taking in what Blake said, Jane just thought about it for a moment. He was right. She had always known he was right. She just didn't know what to do about it. Jay hated being weak and the rapes that had happened had really been her only weakness. Other than that, society and her life had toughened her up. Everything else in her life was under control, yet she was weak when it came to guys because the guys in her past taught her not to trust them, and that left her weak.

Jane tolerated the stroking of the cheek. It was hard not to, but she resolved not to say anything. However, at the touch of his lips on her cheek, her mouth opened automatically to protest; she held it back and bit her tongue instead.

Until Blake left, Jane was biting her tongue, thinking over what he had said. She wanted to get rid of the only weakness she had, and be completely strong, yet it all went back to she didn't know how to be strong.

Making up her mind, Jay got up and followed Blake out of the room. She heard him talking to Lucas and was surprised by his offer to Lucas to help him. Wow, so Blake could be helpful? Instead of interrupting his only form of niceness, the girl decided to brush past him, her shoulder making contact with his and she held her breath the entire time, and went outside to see Leta, as well as get the belongings the blonde witch had thrown out.

Alyson

All of her thoughts were complete chaos. Every time her eyes closed, even just blinking for a second, she could see the bright redness of the flames that had surrounded her house a week ago and the echo of the screams she could imagine as her parents rang in her ears, even though she knew whatever screams there may have been were long gone by the time she had arrived on the scene.

When Zach finished her sentence, her mind was brought back to where she was. "There's no where to go to cry. It'll only be used against me, and they don't need any more ammunition." She said, whipping her cheeks to try and dry them a little bit. But she did know life would go on, and she would go to sleep and wake up to the same hell-hole. But it would be different. The night after the fire, she had woken up thinking she would find out it had all been a horrible nightmare, and she'd be in her luxury bed in her designer pajamas and everything would be as it should. Now it wouldn't be like that. Reality had set in. Gone were the parents who literally gave her everything she could ask for and now all she had was one guy who seemed nice and everyone else pitted against her even though she hadn't done anything yet.

Then Alyson heard his advice. She would love his help, and Lucas', she'd love all the help she could get, accepting it would be the hard part. "As horrible everything here has been, the only exception being you and slightly Lucas, I don't want a transfer. I won't give them that satisfaction; I can't let them win." Aly said since she really was stubborn. "I can't let them know they're getting to me. It's just...after losing everything...I still see the flames behind my eyelids, every time I blink. I wake up sweating as if the flames were around me, surrounding me as they did everything I held dear." Aly had to pause to breathe, and remember he didn't know why she was there, or that she used to be rich, or any of that. He didn't know her, and maybe when he found out who she really was, he wouldn't be so nice to her anymore. "When will it get better?" Aly asked, once more drying her face to get rid of the still falling tears.

Re-entering the orphanage as he walked through the door Lucas mind was on the party tonight. Sneaking out was always a hard thing to do when they a bunch of light sleeping little kids who always seemed to show up at the wrong times. Ms.Morgan usually started putting the youngsters down right after dinner then she would turn in leaving the oldest kids to drop when ever they dropped. He always waited till everyone either fell asleep and resided to their rooms for the night as he didn't have to worry about anyone catching him.

Seeing Blake getting to the bottom of stairs as he came in got Lucas out of his own thoughts for the moment. "Wow, just my luck" he said with a sigh as he closed the door behind him. "Need help with those bags Lucas? I'd hate for them to break you down" Lucas rolled his eyes before giving Blake a look of suspicious. For as long as Lucas had been living in this orphanage he knew Blake to be a lot of things but helpful just wasn't one of them. At least not unless Blake was looking for something in return in which he should already know Lucas would want no part in.

Unlike every other child in the orphanage Lucas had no fear of Blake. Of course like everyone else he knew better then to cross Blake as he knew he couldn't compete with Blake's evilness and manipulating mind games. However Lucas was definitely not afraid of Blake. As Blake's smirk turned into a more serious expression he added "but seriously now, is there...anything I can do for you?" Lucas looked at him with his 'you can't be serious face' before just shaking his head "Thanks but no thanks Blake."

Making his way to the kitchen he stopped by Ms.Morgan office to let her know he was back. She nodded telling him to just leave the stuff on the counter to which he gave a nod of his own in reply. Going into the kitchen he put the groceries down hopped up on one of the counter tops. Lucas liked to cook and when Ms.Morgan cooked she would often let him help her as it got the job done easier and quicker. Helping cook the meals also always got Lucas the first plate which was good when you lived in a house full of hungry little kids who would eat you out of house and home without a second thought.

Blake Hardie

Blake is a man of principle, a man of his word. What he said he would do, he would ensure that he will infact do. One's word was there bond, and having Blake's word was indeed listened to, due to the fact he keeps to his word. Blake had told Jane that if she should resist him as he put his arm round her to take a view outside, then he would kiss her, and that he did. Sure he had a few tricks up his sleeve, crafty in his ways and pretty much devious, but he was a man that could be relied upon, and if he said he'd do something, others would know that it would come to pass at some point. It sure came to a surprise when Blake kissed Jane, yet she said no word when she could have done. He knew quite a lot about the residents of the Orphanage, digging into their past, exploiting their weaknesses, being an adversary for them all. The greatest challenge however would be once he is unleashed to the wider society.

However, right now, his attention was on Lucas, rather than Jane, whose shoulder had slid past against his own before moving towards the exit. It made him curious where the new girl was since he didn't see her outside, though it could all wait another day, or he'll be too expected. Maybe use a new tactic tomorrow. Not to think about right now for tomorrow was another day. Right now, his attention was on the cocky Lucas, who he knew would probably not stand with him, but perhaps would be willing to take a stand back or cause some friction between the opposition. As expected, he denied his help, "Thanks but no thanks Blake".

A smirk swept across his face, "Don't say I didn't offer...", as he followed him slowly as Lucas popped into the office, before moving to the kitchen as Blake followed, positioning himself in the doorway. His eyes followed Lucas as he put the bags down and then sat on the counter. Leaning his head against the doorway, he then spoke up once again, "Now whose being a rebel......making yourself comfortable where food is prepared. It's gunna have to be cleaned now.....Not saying your dirty or anything, as you have a nice be-hind", as one corner of his mouth tugged into a smirk, seeing as he had no preference over male or female, infact he had no preference at all being a blank canvas. "Not that it matters...what I think. However, should you really be right here right now? Shouldn't you....be with the damsel in distress? Shouldn't you....be the guy that she runs too? Hardly seems fair, seeing as your the one that ruined by little welcome party....".

Zach Holsden

If only. If only. Two words that have been engraved in him for many years. To think what would of happened, if something else was done that what was done. One could only wish, and remain a dream, or a nightmare. Afterall, if his parents' relationship only worked out, he'd be with them, but then he would never of met Soph, but if he never met Soph, he'd never of learnt how to love, to have feelings, and remain living under the roof of parents who didn't seem to show much love, if any at all. Some things just had to happen. The events of the past helped build up the character that people were in the present, with every decision being important, as one difference could mean that the future could be changed.

However right now, the future was pretty much unclear, the past unchangeable with much pain, and now the present mattered, and a hard present it was after such a past. To be about one's wits as much as possible, and to be careful what you do. As much as he wanted to make her feel better, she saw even doing that was futile, "There's no where to go to cry. It'll only be used against me, and they don't need any more ammunition". Couldn't things be changed. If only. If only. "As horrible everything here has been, the only exception being you and slightly Lucas, I don't want a transfer. I won't give them that satisfaction; I can't let them win....I can't let them know they're getting to me. It's just...after losing everything...I still see the flames behind my eyelids, everytime I blink. I wake up sweating as if the flames were around me, surrounding me as they did everything I held dear....When will it get better?".

Zach was a good listener, but being such also meant that he was quite empathetic. He did not know why she was here, but knew she had been through something bad to be brought here as he had, and as such, did not deserve the treatment she had recieved. However, by the short time they had known each other, she seemed confident enough round him, despite the running tears that fell, to reveal part of her past which he easily filled in after she described the flames and how she lost everything. It certainly was something terrible, and though everything he knew wasn't burnt down literally, piece by piece, it felt like all he had was consumed till he had nothing, and thinking about it, he too had tears in his eyes that fell down, which had turned away slightly to be able to gather his thoughts to be able to think straight.

It was then that his hand covered hers, not only to comfort her, but also somebody to hold, even if ever so lightly. He had done the same after one of the seniors in the orphanage had saved him when he tried to end his life as he saw nothing left of it. He didn't care what others thought and the fact he was another guy, but after he had been rescued, it was hard to free the guy from his grasp since he was holding him for dear life. However, he had made it through successfully thanks to him, restoring him when he felt ever so low. Having someone by him helped tremendously and right now, she had no-one. "I don't know when it will get better, for I don't have all the answers, but what I do know, is how to persevere. It took me awhile to be able to do it, but I managed it in the end. What I held onto, was my principles, and they are what have kept me going, to do what is right and not change what makes me, me".

Feeling more stronger and passing that strength through his hand, he turned to face her, even if he had his own tears staining his face from thinking about it all, and said, "I might not be the strongest, but I sure will not stoop down to their level, nor be as heartless as Blake can be. I admire your strength to go through all this, and maybe the way I've been doing it is all wrong, but I refuse to fight fire with fire. If inside tells me to cry, I shall cry. If inside tells me I should do something, I shall do, but I shall not turn into a robot or try to hold it in and cause more pain and despair. If I fight, I fight with a heart and not without one, even if I fail", even if inside he felt he was the biggest failure of them all.

Zach was similar. Sure he didn't have her same experience, but he had dreams of his former home, his former love, before Death came and took them all away. However, he had spoken plenty about such things back when he had regular counselor visits to help him get back on his feet, and right now, he was supposed to comforting her and not the other way round as he took a deep breathe and attempts to suck back that which wished to escape from him. However, now was the time for strength as his eyebrows narrowed and face went stern, as his left hand held her shoulder, "It is not a crime to have a heart, regardless of how they see it, for it will be them that will struggle in life once they leave here. However, I shall do what I can to help you, and if I cannot, then I am positively sure Lucas will too", offering a warm smile to console them both.

"Now whose being a rebel......making yourself comfortable where food is prepared. It's gunna have to be cleaned now.....Not saying your dirty or anything, as you have a nice be-hind" Lucas rolled his eyes at Blake words, "Haven't we been over this already Blake. Your just not my type." Hopping down off the counter Lucas started to unload the groceries when Ms.Morgan came he wanted to get straight to work. Not only for the reason that he was hungry but also because the quicker they got through with dinner the faster everyone would be off to bed and he could sneak out and go to the party Cassie invited him to.

"Not that it matters...what I think. However, should you really be right here right now? Shouldn't you....be with the damsel in distress? Shouldn't you....be the guy that she runs too? Hardly seems fair, seeing as your the one that ruined my little welcome party....". Again Lucas rolled his eyes. He knew everyone at the orphanage had had bad things happen to them in the past I mean if they all had perfect lives none of them would be there but he just didn't know what the hell had happened to Blake to make him such a dick. "I ruined your welcome party? Blake I may have ruined something but a welcome party wasn't it." As he finished unpacking everything he turned and looked at Blake in the doorway "Blake your the kind of guy who for some odd reason gets some kind of sick pleasure out of hurting people. I don't understand why you do what you do and honesty I don't care why you do what you do. Just leave me the hell out of it."

Turning his attention back to preparing dinner he put away the now empty plastic bags and once done with that he wiped down all the counters and took out the pots and pans they would be needing to cook the food. Just as he set the last pot on the stove Ms.Morgan came into the room "Well hello there Blake, I can't suspect someone will be saying to help us cook all this food now can I?" she asked as she walked over to the counter where Lucas had set out the groceries. "Lucas I swear you were and still are one of my best kids here," she said looking around at everything "okay well you can get some water boiling in those two pots over there and I'm gonna get chopping o these onions."

Lucas finished setting the table in the dinner room where all the food had been set out. There were already kids lined up right next to the door frame waiting to rush in and get some of the good smelling food. Ms.Morgan and Lucas always made the smart decision of setting their food aside because once these vultures smelled food they were ready to devour. "Okay guys come and get it!" the second after the words left his mouth the table was surrounded by hungry orphans. Lucas couldn't help but laugh as he went into the kitchen where Ms.Morgan was waiting and handed him a plate "Thanks for all help Lucas," she said with a smile as she handed him the plate. "Anytime Ms.Morgan," he said as the two of them walked out of the kitchen.

Getting upstairs to his room he found his door to be locked he sighed as he knocked "Guys dinner is going on downstairs but you better move fast if want any of it." Not being able to eat his food in his room as he normally did Lucas headed back downstairs. In his searching for a place to eat he located Alice and Jake along with another new face. Today they were getting a lot of new orphans so it seemed. "Guys dinner is going on in the dining room. If you wanna eat you better move fast," he said looking at the Alice and Jake. Then turning to the new girl he said "Feel free to go eat to if hungry. Am Lucas by the way."

One week ago was all it had been since Aly had pranced around with a seemingly endless amount of money. She had all of the clothes she could possibly want in a closet bigger than the room they were currently sitting in. However, even with all of that, she had never really had a shoulder to cry on. Just as it was here, crying was always a weakness before. The blonde couldn't remember the last time she had sat there and just and bawled her eyes out like she was now; she also had never realized how great it would feel to have an arm around you as you cried. Even in all of the crappy places she had been to in the last week, Aly was really thinking that Zach was like her guardian angel in this hell.

And here she was, opening up completely to this guy she had only known a few hours, like some pathetic weakling. No, that's what the old Aly would thing. Just because she had to be that witch around everyone else did not mean she would resort back to being like that all the time, especially when someone as sweet as Zach was around; she could never bring herself to really be mean to the only person who had given her a reason to smile since she arrived, especially knowing that he must have been through a lot in his short life as well, yet he was putting all of that aside to help her. Zach alone was showing her why she had wanted to change her witch-y ways to begin with.

However, Alyson still didn't know if she could just get past everything that had happened in the past few hours, let alone in the past week, to be able to do everything Zach was suggesting she do. Zach may have been through it all before and seemed willing to help, but that was still a lot for such a broken up girl to do. Yes Zach was amazing, but she didn't feel she had it in herself.

As Zach wiped her tears away, he confirmed that Aly could never be mean to someone so amazing. Hearing his words about him her letting out her feelings and him feeling worse if he let her push him away, Aly looked up and into his eyes. This time, her hug was thought out. True, Aly had been used to hugging her friends and some guys at parties, but Zach didn't seem like he was really all that comfortable with physical contact, let alone hugs. However, Aly also felt that for some reason, he didn't reject hugs from her, he embraced them. "I don't want you to give up on me, and I would be stupid to give up on you because you are a hundred times better than they are." She said as she held him, trying not to get too many tears on his shirt.

Then Zach was going was going on about how people in the orphanage didn't usually keep in touch after they left, and all Alyson could think about was how much she hoped and prayed that she would stay in contact with Zach, though no one else of course. Well, Lucas didn't seem too bad; he wasn't mean to her at least, but he wasn't exactly the most helpful, like Zach had been. Maybe it was the saying everything that was on her mind up to this point, maybe it was something she just had no control over, but Aly once more found herself opening up to him and speaking her mind: "I hope we stay in touch when we leave here." She had broken the hug by then, and had turned away, yet when she spoke those words, her eyes found his once more. There was a loneliness in her eyes that was echoed in Zach's eyes, a pain that could not be put into words, only understood by those who had been through similar pain. Yet it seemed Zach's pain went beyond just losing everything he loved as she had. One day, Aly only hoped he would open up to her as she had opened up to him, but of course it would be when he was ready.

"I want to be there for you too. You've been nothing but kind to me and I want to help you at least a fraction of what you have helped me, I just don't know how to do it." Aly said honestly. She wanted him to feel as comfortable around her as she had some way found herself to be comfortable around him.

However, the moment was kind of ruined as a knock was heard on the door. She heard Lucas' voice say something about dinner. "You go ahead." The blonde said to Zach. "I'm not all that hungry. I'll just go to my ro--..." Aly cut off. No, she couldn't just go to her room. As far as her roommates were concerned, it wasn't even her room to go to, and Aly wasn't really ready to face them right now that she had finally cracked and hadn't yet put herself back together. "I'll go get some fresh air. Hopefully out side will be safe while everyone is preoccupied with food." She said before unlocking the door. "Thanks for everything Zach, you'll know where to find me." She said before ducking out of the room, trying to be discreet as she went outside as quietly as she could.

Blake Hardie

It was indeed hard to discover who the real Blake was. Everything about him expressed an urge to fight him, to oppose him, for he himself was always asking for fights, always asking for opposition, making it seem that he enjoyed such. If such were so, it was truly mind-boggling as to why someone would prefer people to continue to hate him, as if he thrived on hate, or was there something deeper within Blake's dominating and oppressive nature that caused him to be the way that he was. He has a sort of 'can't be bothered, couldn't care less' sort of attitude, but the question was if he truly was bothered, if he truly did care, merely conveying the wrong side of him, or was Blake just Blake, the big bully who enjoys making people's lives unhappy and thereby giving himself satisfaction. It seemed to be the latter to define who Blake was.

Blake didn't care what people thought of him, but when people start opposing him, when people start making foolish actions, he makes sure they regret such. However, the ones that seem to be able to stand on their own two feet and appear to be the 'Mr Wise Guy' as Lucas was since he seemed to be unaffected by Blake's dominance, it was such that did annoy him, hence the reason that he aimed to try and cause a divide between him and Zach, to have him be the 'Knight in Shining Armor' since Blake could admit being the unbothered guy he was, that Lucas looked alot more fitter than Zach, so if he could get Lucas to pull Alyson away, then fragile Zach would be at his mercy.

He was aware that Lucas did not care a toss about him, and he was aware that he felt nothing towards him either, "Haven't we been over this already Blake. Your just not my type", though such didn't stop him from pretending. Afterall, if he didn't like him and he complimented him, then such would make him sick, right? In some shape or form, Blake still was in control despite the opposition, while Lucas continued to act like the good boy and doing his told like a little angel when there was more to Lucas, Blake knew, especially hanging around with Cassie he noticed while he admitted intruding on his not-so-much which only made him smile, before Ms Morgan came in and shortly after, Blake made his exit to let Mr Goodie-two-shoes have his time with a woman old enough to be his mother. However when someone says, "Just leave me the hell out of it", it is all the more reason to ensure he is in the middle of it.

For now, he decided to give Lucas his one-to-one time with Ms Morgan, before he entered the dining room and filled up two plates, one for himself and the second one for himself or if he was feeling generous. Though he'd love to rule the roost on the Dining table, Alice and Jake came in and told him that this new girl, Sasha had arrived, so he decided to meet her himself. Once outside, he noticed Lucas and then the girl with a cigarette. Nice, someone with style for a change rather than these prancing about princesses. "You probably won't get anything for awhile with the vultures in there, so have got a plate for you", as Blake handed Sasha food that would at least last the day before everyone went to bed, such probably was an act of kindness but she seemed hard-ball and had enough rabble to tease, so he may of found an ally.

"I'm Blake by the way, the eldest here, so if you need anything just let me know, and since it's quite a nice day, we mightswell eat outside if you want to join me, or can go in there with the little kiddies", before motioning her to come with him if she wished, and then choosing to sit at Lucas and Cassie's tree, meaning that if Lucas wished to make a scene then Lucas would be the baddie this time. However, looking past the scene, he noticed Alyson from earlier come back outside, but she wasn't his priority now, he'd get her back for welcoming him with a bag across his face for sure, so to move Lucas away, his eyes motioned him towards Alyson so that Mr Goodie-two-shoes can go see how Alyson is doing rather than getting in his way. Lucas may not wish to follow Blake's orders, but it seemed a move Lucas would make anyway and show this Sasha who was truly in charge here.

Zach Holsden

Though Zach remained an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on, despite going through his own troubles, denying that he could not adjust to life so easily and pretending nothing happened when it did, he did understand that adjustments took time so he was not expecting Aly to suddenly be at ease straight away. Aly had said before how she essentially had everything, but such did not matter, for everyone here had lost something or someone, something had happened to bring them all here, no longer having anyone to take care of them which is why it was left for them to take care of number one as Blake tended to do to make sure he was ontop, or to learn there was more to life and more to do, as such experiences had made Zach more caring of others. Zach was admittingly like Blake in his adoptive family as all he ever wanted was Soph, but then when Soph left, his whole life dwindled and he pushed all care away and wanted no one near, and such remained until he learned to accept and open up.

Hearing other people's worries were the last thing on his mind back then, but the fact what he learnt was that they were all here for a reason and that despite differences, they should all stick together. Blake made things difficult by him making himself the guy in-charge and wanting things to go the way he saw it, and such wasn't fair, especially Aly's welcome which was no welcome at all, all because she weren't feeling so good which was expected, yet Blake preferred to exploit weakness and make people bad which wasn't nice at all. Aly didn't feel strong enough to stand up to them and instead opting to be the same way she was with Jane and Aleta, but such wasn't fair, and it was that what wanted Zach to help her.

Hugs was certainly a thing of the past, since he accepted no hugs since Soph's death and since the death of his adoptive parents that followed, he accepted no-one so it startled him when he got one from Aly, but he could not push her away, he would not push her away, no doubt the time he spent isolated and slowly adjusting back into reality had helped him to be more open that he could accept others, and now as Aly gave him another hug, it was more accepting as he felt her pain and he wanted to help her as she told him, "I don't want you to give up on me, and I would be stupid to give up on you because you are a hundred times better than they are", making him smile since despite her breaking down, she seemed alot more at ease, as he told her that she wouldn't have to put up for them for long, before saying that she hoped to keep in touch for him when they leave, which Zach felt would be no problem to keep up since they had already created a bond of sorts, as she let go of him.

"I want to be there for you too. You've been nothing but kind to me and I want to help you at least a fraction of what you have helped me, I just don't know how to do it", she then told him, which made him smile, before Lucas knocked on the door and spoke about dinner, but what Aly did not realise was that she had already helped him, but at least she felt better, before she decided to go outside, "Thanks for everything Zach, you'll know where to find me", before she left and once again he was alone in his room which he had kept himself in for a loooong time since he came here, before he then shared his room with Lucas. At least Lucas was cool and he wasn't a big meanie like Blake was.

Composing himself and checking himself in the mirror to make sure he looked okay, he then went out his room and went straight to the kitchen where Alice and Jake was but no sign of Blake as Zach sat down with his plate and asked, "Where's Blake?", concerned about Aly once again. Jake turned to him, "He's outside", causing Zach's eyes to sharpen, "Then I better go out too", as he went to stand up, before Alice grabbed his arm and pulled him back down, "It's alright Zach. Lucas is out there too so it's alright. Besides, we got a new girl in now. Her names Sasha, and Blake seemed more interested in her, but she'll be alright I think as I spoke to her before and she seemed the type to have a level-head on her shoulders".

Zach smiled and nodded, since all seemed to be alright, as he begun eating his dinner along with everyone else, this time feeling more confident, alot more.
