Introduction

In the year 2193, the UGV Sinister and crew arrived at the Guardian Station 11 after a seven month peace keeping mission. They were to make sure the Traft and Borg remained at peace, though tensions were high. While at GS 11, the Sinister was on a week of stand down, while their vessel was repaired and resupplied. During that week, Admiral 1st class Nimitz called the crew in for a new mission briefing. Their new mission was to track down, and destroy an unknown class war vessel that was attacking unarmed supply vessels in route to different colonies.

Everything had gone good until the crew of the Sinister used a highly classified torpedo, a Halo Torpedo. When the explosion of the weapon came in contact with the unknown vessel’s reactor core, everything went horribly wrong. A wormhole was created, and sucked in the Sinister and what was left of the other vessel. The two vessels were taken across the universe to uncharted territory. Once out of the wormhole, the shields on the Sinister were heavily damaged, and the ship had to react quickly to avoid a comet heading right for them. They missed the large rock, but they could not avoid it’s tail. Small debris quickly ripped through parts of the Sinister’s hull, and damaged their reactor core. The nearby planet’s gravity quickly grabbed a hold of both ships and caused them to crash land.

All but one member of the Sinister’s crew survived the crash, and only one member of the crew knew exactly what ship they had to destroy. The unknown vessel had sent out a distress beacon. Now the Guardians of the Sinister had to make a hard decision: Track down and disable the beacon to protect the planet from an invasion, or stand to the side to avoid getting involved with the bipedal race on the planet. Which of the two decisions will they make? Will the crew ever return home? Or better question, will the crew of the Sinister be able to survive?

Trip sat across the table, wearing his Guardian Dress Blue uniform, the really nice one. He smiled a genuine smile at Laya. "What are you smiling about?" Laya asked. Trip slowly got up and knelt down before her, holding a box. "Laya, I'm not the best looking man, I'm not the richest man, and everyone knows i am no angel. I still have a lot of battles with my demons, but if you say yes, then my battles will be victorious, and i'll be the richest man in the universe. Laya, will you marry me?" Trip asked, opening the box to a purple crystal, hand made necklace. With tears in her eyes Laya nodded. "Yes Keenan Lit'ra, I will marry you." Laya answered. Trip stood up and placed the necklace around her neck, and kiss her passionately.......................................Trip scurried off, trying to keep up with his family as the invading forces of the Nevallian fleets spread throughout the planet, shooting anyone and everyone they came across. The sounds of screams, and plasma weapons going off filled the air. Everything came to a quick halt when their escape route was blocked by the invaders. Without care, the Nevallians started shooting. Keenan ran behind some rocks, and watched as his family was shot down. Filled with anger, he jumped out grabbing a Crystallian staff weapon from a dead warrior, he began fighting back. Keenan dropped the weapon as the Nevallian Overlord grabbed him by the neck and picked him up. It was anger in Keenan's eyes, not fear, the Overlord saw. The young lad, barely 8 years old, grabbed the dagger off the enemy's belt and slashed at it's face. As he was thrown to the ground, Keenan was ready to fight again. A large burning sensation followed with tremendous pain

Trip quickly gasped for air when his memory of the shot came back. He slowly looked around and caught his breath, looking at the tremendous damage done to their vessel. He was lucky to be alive, but who else was. Trip slowly stood up, pulling a piece of shard from the viewing screen, out from his leg. He limped around the ship checking on the rest of the crew. Once he got to the engineering department, he climbed through the rubble. "Stella? You there Stella?" Trip called out, having trouble getting through the rubble. His first and foremost responsibility was to ensure that their reactor core was contained and was not going to go critical.

The warm glow of his eyes pinned her to the spot. Those kind, terrible eyes were screaming don’t move. The weight of the stare was almost tangible. No, that’s not right, it was tangible. She could feel the heaviness pressing down on her, holding her in place. His eyes didn’t bother Stella anymore, she was used to them. They almost lived behind her closed eye lids. Her father was gone and she had long since stopped being freighted of him in death….. However, there was something wrong with this dream. The smell of singed hair was overpowering, the strong liquid metal taste in her mouth was too prudent, and the fact that every inch of her body was screaming in agony signaled that something was very wrong. That’s when the sharp reality hit her… This wasn’t a dream.

Her slitted eyes flew open, as she simultaneously spewed blood from her mouth. She tried to glop air, but each breath racked her body with pain. A low grown left her lips, as she push against the cabinet that had fell on her. Hearing Trip’s call she took another shallow breath before grunting her responds, “I’m over here.” She was glad, to hear his voice, at least someone else made it, she thought quickly. She pushed the thought of the rest of the crew to back of her mind. The condition of Mr. Sinister and the Core had to be her primary concern. From her squatted position she tried to visually survey the room, but Echoing told her what her eyes couldn’t focus long enough to see, Mr. Sinister had suffer extensive damage. She could feel the low vibration of the ship, which meant the Core was still operational, good, but judging by the choppiness she was feeling, what condition and for how long it would work was another question altogether. Standing up slowly, turning to face the directions of Trip’s voice. Stella’s voice barely just above whisper, dripping with concern she turn catching Trip square in the eyes…….“We need to get to the Core Room, NOW!

Trip finally was able to make his way through the rubble that blocked the door. Blood slowly running down the side of his face from a deep gash above his right eye. His violet eyes looked around before finally hearing the soft voice from his friend and fellow Guardian, Stella. "I'm heading that way now. Are you alright?" He said, ignoring anything that his body was feeling at the moment, ignoring the pain in his side, and the aching migraine he had. In a short moment, he was able to make his way to Stella and headed towards the core room. If one thing he knew about Stella, it was the fact that she knew the ship inside and out, and what it "was sick". Trip stopped at one computer and started scrolling through the data.

"Only 14 bots are operational. I'm setting them to repair any damage the ship has taken, starting with the hull." Trip said, ignoring the sparks flying from over worked, and over heated circuits. Once he was done at the station, he went to join Stella in the core room. Their main concern was to contain and if needed, shut down the core. From what he has seen from the bridge to engineering, the ship has taken heavy damage, much more damage than he had expected. Whether or not the Sinister would fly again, Trip didn't know, but he did know that the bots would continuously work until it's repaired.

The door wasn’t responding to her proximity band, Stella needed to manually override it. “I’m fine, she said, grunting as she removed the cover to the door control panel. Spitting out blood yet again, Stella quickly surveyed her bloody friend, the slight glow of her slitted, grey eyes allowing her to see him clearly in the semi darkness of the Engineering Control Room. There was no need to ask if he was ok. Even with his face and side awash in blood, he would answer in the affirmative. Stella know, she wasn’t in fact okay, judging by the blood she kept spitting up, there had to be some internal injuries, it didn’t matter. If they didn’t secure the core, death would take them long before her injuries would. "Trip grab the med pack and quick seal that cut, I’m going to need both your eyes in a second.” She bit out, twisting two wires together. The Core room doors sprung open with a sudden snap, not bothering to replace the panel cover Stella rushed in.

The Core stood the height of the ship. When most effective it worked as one unit. However each section could work independently. It appeared that most of the systems here were still up and running. Stella rushed to the main frame, her hand gliding across the controls. The preliminary scan showed extensive damage, “cura deum tenebris (Dark God Care)” Stella whisper to herself looking at the damage. The upper and lower core were in alarm. Only the middle core seemed to still be working, however the coupling were badly damaged. Trip had set the remaining bots to repair the outer hull first. “Good,” she called “the sooner we stop venting atmosphere the better.” Her eyes never left her work as Trip entered the Core room. “Trip, I need you to kill the power to the lower core, its damaged beyond repair but still trying to operate. Vent the room too, the heat from coils are reaching critical.” She had just vented the middle core and completed a work around on its broken couplings. It wasn’t a permanent fix but it brought them time. “Cura deum(Dark God)” she cursed. Slamming her hands down on the control panel. “I can’t access the Upper Core from here, we have to get up there quick or in 15 minutes, its super ipsum (game over).”

Trip wiped the blood off of his face with his shirt and proceeded to the lower core room. Once he reached the control panels, he noticed they were burnt out. "Stella, the panel is burnt out, I'm going inside to manually disengage the power. The radiation is too high for the suits, but i should be able to disengage them and get out before any lasting effects." Trip called out as he moved towards the door. He had to pry the door open, just so he could squeeze through. Once inside, the energy particles in the air was nearly blinding him. He tried to covered his eyes the best he could while moving towards the power shut off station and start the process. He was done in a quick moment and quickly got out of the room and enacted the radiation doors.

"Stella, the power is shut off, and radiation doors are closed. The lower core is shutting down." Trip said as he slid down the wall to catch his breath. The heat in the core room was high, and radiation as well. He reached up above him and grabbed the med pack and pulled out the laser sealer, a small device that could close open wounds and lifted up his shirt. He had to do something about the gash on his side, it was starting to bother him more than anything. He slowly began to seal the gash. Ever since Trip was 8, he's been able to withstand a lot more pain than normally, and that was due to what happened on his planet. After sealing the would, Trip gave himself a shot that would counteract the radiation exposure. "Stella, hows things going on your side?' Trip asked as he sat there for a few to relax.

Her chest was burning as she ran out of the main engineering room headed to the upper core room. The pain from her side was almost unbearable, she grit her teeth blood as blood pooling in her mouth. Stella’s eyes widened in horror at the destruction all around her. Bots lay in heaps on the ground. She also caught sight of what was most certainly blood. Whose was the question? All of which had to be pushed had to pushed to the back of her mind. If she didn't make it to the Upper Core room nothing else would matter. Running full out, spitting blood with each gut wrenching jolt to her body, she listen to Trip report on the condition of the Lower Core.

The upper core was at critical and without knowing their whereabouts dumping the core was out of the question. The room had to be vented and fast. Stella could see clearly into the dark room, the main turbines was blocked, also the computer consoles was crushed that’s why should couldn't access them from main engineering room. Stella hard wire all the controls sending them to the main control room. The easy part was over… taking a deep breath Stella went into the core room. Her thick flesh began to scream at the intense heat, blister began to from on her arms and face. Stella had to push and pull heaps of broken core pieces out of her way, hands in agony from the heat of objects she moved. Once she made it to the turbine she wedged a piece metal piling under the ceiling joist that as blocking the cooling vent’s fan. Used it as a fulcrum she used her back to help lift and move the joist out of the way. The fan slowly began to move. She had seconds to get out of there before the fan reached full speed. Relief washed over her as she rushed to the door, the core was stable for the moment. So caught up in thought, she hit her already injured side. Stella cursed in agony, “Cura deum(Dark God)!” she made it to the door just in time to hear Trip’s question, "Stella, hows things going on your side?" She never heard the “Help" fall from her lips as, she fell face first to the floor.

Trip slowly pulled himself up and headed to the main control to check the status of the upper core. Seeing that it was slowly returning to normal, there was still something he had to do. His fingers flew over the controls and within a few minutes the upper core slowly shut down. He wasn't sure how long the fix would last, so he deemed it necessary to shut down the whole core. Trip started to move around to find out where Stella was and to see if she needed any assistance. Once he made it to the upper level, he saw Stella laying on the ground. There was a med kit just a few feet away from her, and so he grabbed it.

"El stay with me!' Trip said softly as he pulled the med kit apart until he found the pain reducers. He pressed it against El's neck and injected it into her blood. Hopefully it would ease the pain just enough to get her down to the healing chamber in the med bay. Trip wrapped one of Stella's arms around him, and slowly picked her up. He didn't know what condition the med bay was, but hopefully it didn't sustain too much damage. He slowly dragged Stella down to the med bay, to get her treated for her injuries, which he expected to be worse then his.

Stella’s eyes slowly opened the stark white of room amplifying the brightness of the light. Squinting she allowied her eyes to adjust as she gazed around in confusion. She was in Med Bay, but how? Panic took her until her eyes settled on Trip, allow a wave of calmness take over. -taking a shallow breath- her mind still compensating for her bodies injuries. Feeling no pain, -she took a deeper breath-, while opening the healing chamber doors. Stepping out of the chamber, feeling the smooth floor beneath her feet, breathing out again she asked, “Are you alright?" Pausing as her eyes scanned his frame. “Is everything stable?” Running her finger across her face and arm the -sighed- the healing chamber had done its job well, even the blister were gone. “Thanks…" she said with a smirk, tilting her head slightly, “I’d say you dragging me up here, makes us even.”

Stella took another deep breath as she turned, walking over to the console, her finger absently calling for status reports. She could ask the computer for the status of the other, but she didn’t want to hear cold, matter of fact responds that would follow. So breathlessly she inquired, “Are we the only survivors?” Lowering her head slightly praying for her shipmates. “I saw a lot of blood Trip…A lot.” She turned her head catching Trips eyes, searching his face for the truth of his response.

Trip looked really tired when Stella came out of the chamber. The core had stablized and wouldn't be a problem any more, the bots were quickly repairing the outter hull, and Stella was healed. Trip had cleaned himself up after he searched the ship for more survivors, which he only found two. Four out of eleven, that was a big loss for them. He had placed the last two survivors in cryostasis to keep them alive. The gash over Trip's eye had been clean, but was still open, though it wasn't bleeding, and his side had been stitched shut. Trip gave a soft smile seeing Stella climb out. "Good to see you about." Trip said softly while sitting on the floor, leaning against the medical panel. While he was waiting and after he got cleaned up, Trip had gather what he could for their travels. "The other ship has a beacon going. We need to get there and shut it off. We don't want to attract any unwanted guests to this planet. I did what i could for the ship computer, before the coils blew, it couldn't figure out where we are. Trip explained as he tried to relax and get some rest.

It wasn’t lost on Stella that Trip hadn’t said anything about the others that meant it was bad. She turned and leaned against the computer console, her forehead knitted in contemplation, “What do you mean, we don’t know where we are? That’s impossible.” Turning back to the controls, Stella brought the computer back on-line “Even with limited power, Mr. Sin should be able to ascertain our location easily.” Stella look on in amazement as star map, after star map zoomed across the computer console. “It’s was true.” Disbelief evident in her voice her chest heaving in shock. Quickly looking back at Trip, then back to the console, activating voice commanded. “This is Major Stella Yveltal Identification Override AD24576, I’m routing power from all unnecessary areas and half of life support.” Looking back at the controls as the system came up, “Your right Trip we have to disarm their beacon, but what about our own? Spending the rest of my life here isn't on my to do list, We need information.” Shaking her head. Taking power from life support was risky, but the planet must be hospitable, if it wasn't they would have died on impact.

Computer, I need planetary readings, and start a short range scan of this solar system, we need some idea where we are. Also let’s bring up the outside cameras. If this planet has any life we need to know, what we are up against.” The scan would take some time, however what was left the external cameras can online immediately, looking up at the screen, a whistle left Stella’s lips, they were from the looks of it surrounded, activity everywhere. This planet was inhabited, and hostile from the looks of it. “I think getting to that beacon is going to be tougher then we thought.”

Trip slowly pulled himself up, being careful not to rip open the stitches on his side. He leaned on the console and looked at Stella. "Well if a strange ship crash landed on your planet, wouldn't you be a little hostile?" Trip said softly. He slowly moved over to the equipment he managed to find that was undamaged. He grabbed a box and opened it, revealing his armor. Slowly Trip began placing pieces together to make it easier to carry. His black Crystallian staff weapon was leaning against the wall. He grabbed another bag and began filling it up with supplies. "We should wait until night fall and then escape. Since we're in a desert, we should only move at night, it would save supplies. Rest during the day. I'm estimating it would take 1 month to reach the other ship. Not to mention Stella, I don't recognize anything in this system. The computer didn't either. We will find a way home, don't worry." Trip said as he finished up his kits and set them aside.

Once his stuff was set to the side, Trip started walking down to his quarters. He wasn't sure how bad the radiation and sun was on this planet and wasn't going to take any chances. Once he pried open the door, Trip climbed through and began looking for his contacts. While in his search, he found a photo of Laya, and all of his parents' notes from their archeaology digs. It didn't take too long for Trip to find his contacts and put them in his eyes. The contacts caused his eyes to trun from their normal violet color to being green. They were specifically designed to protect the sensitive eyes of Crystallians, like his.

-Chuckling- “Well... to be fair, it’s better then the welcome than we received on Zolha 4. They knew we were coming and still shot first.” After watching the inhabitants position themselves further, Stella look down computer console, reviewing the general readings further, “Air breathable, current location desert terrain. It’s roughly 3600 miles to the other ships.” She turned and listening to Trip as he assessed the situation, folding her arms across her chest. The idea of actually leaving Sinister wasn’t sitting well with her. It was a foolish thought, but her blood and sweat were a part of this ship. Leaving him on a strange planet unprotected made her feel physically sick. Returning her full attention to Trip she could hear his annoyance at her second guessing him. –Shaking her head lightly- She decided to leave it. She trusted her shipmates more then she trusted her blood family, but this situation was dire. They needed as much information as possible.

Her eyes scan across her friend as he secured the last of his items, and headed towards the door. “I’m not worried, but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t concerned." Eyes looking down at the white floors "We are Dark Gods know where, surrounded and this is a level three, uncharted planet. You know what that means? We have to disable our home beacon, as well. We’re alone out here Trip…. Our training doesn't leave room for worry, but I am really, really concerned.” Stella turn back to the console, her request barely above a whisper, “Computer disable the homing beacon.” Running her hands across the computer console lovingly, she made her way over to the remaining supplies, gather them together. “Computer how many life forms on board?” 4… Tears ran down Stella's face as she left sick bay reciting the Deinococcus Radiodurandian death rites fir her lost comrades.

Trip grabbed the last of the stuff from his quarters that he would need, it wasn't much; a picture of his loving fiancee, his parents' archeaology notes, and a couple spare sets of contacts was all that he needed. He returned to the med bay in which everything was gathers and started moving things towards the air lock, which was a hundred feet away. He thought a bit while he was moving the stuff, trying to figure out how to get past the inhabitants of the planet. The only way he could think of doing so, was either by causing a distraction, or taking some of the guards out. There wasn't much he could do from inside the ship. Trip was a weapons expert as well as a Crystallian warrior, who has been trained for battle, even though he looks nothing like the part.

"El, how many inhabitants do we have sitting around the ship? Not to mention you need to get your stuff together. Make sure you have your armor and rifle. We don't know what to expect on this planet." Trip said, but with a voice that sounded a bit more like ordering. He stopped for a moment and thought. " Computer, This is Major 2nd Class Keenan Lit'ra, override code DTR0271Z. Shut down all systems, lock everything down in exactly two hours. Recall all bots to their hanger. Do not accept any other authorization code but mine for anything further." Trip ordered the ship. With the captain out, and first officer as well, it had come down to Trip taking charge, and he wasn't going to allow anyone access to their ship or computers, there was no way he'd allow it. Trip looked over at Stella, he felt her pain but there was more important matters. "Stella, there'll be time later for mourning, right now we have to protect this planet, especially since we'll be on it for a while." Trip said, kind of sounding cold, but in times like these, that was the way he was.

Stella entered her darkened quarters, easily seeing her way. Moving first to her armor cabinet she collected and packet her black and silver lined armor, then laid her rifle across her bed, next to her pack. She silently continued reciting the death rites as she quickly collected the rest of her things. After changing into traveling wear she kneeled in front of the large chest that sat at the foot of her bed. Digging straight to the bottom she retrieve a long, square, unwrapped package and quickly add it to her pack. Her mother had surprisingly gifted her two things when she left Nibiru, the unopened gift and her father's long knives. The feeling of what lay unopened in her pack was both a beacon, burden and puzzle. Quieting those intruding thoughts, this place these unknown people mattered now, the rites she wove were for those gone and for the journey head. Once they left Sinister, all their thoughts had to be focused on their mission, to save this nameless planet. The words never slowed as she grab and unrolled a packet of knives, their black blades quickly disappeared around her body. Placing her father's long blades in their holder, she collected her rifle from the bed. With one last look around her quarters, she grabbed pack, and headed for the door stopping only to grab a picture of her family, as she made her way back to med bay.

Trip was calling out to Stella as she stepped back into the Med Bay. She fixed him with a perplexed stare, at his commanding tone. Allowing her pack, complete with armor and rifle to slide to the floor, she finished reciting the death rites. -Shaking her head she said, “Guardian, you seriously underestimated my ability to multitask.” She leaning over attacking a dampener to her pack. Their armor was relatively light but the extra lift would help, they would need all their speed and stealth to get off Sinister alive. Stella tossed a dampener to Trip, “This will help a little. It’s my personal design.” Moving towards the console, she stopped short, annoyed as Trip continued to bark orders. Stella struggled to reign her temper in. He was still hurt and in full savoir mode, getting angry wouldn’t help matters, they had job to do. However at Trip’s last command, her eyes flared. With quiet fiery, her words were low and direct, “Never presume to order me ever again, I took the oath and know my duty well. Our fellow guardians deserved those rushed rites and more. Being surround as we are, there is no guarantee we’ll have a later.” That was the truth, these being still greatly out numbered them, no matter how primitive. “Now.... there are approximately 200 inhabitants out there and it can be assumed more are coming. We aren’t completely surrounded, yet, at last inspection, there are gaps in their perimeter.” -Sliding her hand over her blade handle, thinking “There’s no way we're getting off this ship completely unnoticed. Maybe If we keep to the shadows and stay low in the trench carved by Sinister, we could take out a few guards and make our escape?"

Trip kept an eye on the cameras and assested the situation for a moment. "I think it's best for one of us to sneak out through the torpedo tube and take out the guards at the air lock. That way the other and can out of the air lock with all the gear and get away." Trip said, then moved everything to the air lock to get ready. Once he was done moving his gear, he checked on the cryo pods, they had their own power source so they'd be safe from the complete shut down for the ship. He thought for a moment and looked to Stella. "I'll do it, just be ready when it's all clear." Trip said, he rather place himself in danger then ask someone else to do it.

Trip grabbed his staff weapon and headed towards the torpedo room. There was a lot on his mind at the moment. He stopped at the lower torpedo tube and opened it up. He took a few deep breathes before continuing on in the tube. It took a few minutes before he got to the end and pried open the door. he peeked out to make sure it was all clear and then slipped out. Trip slowly moved towards teh air lock, keeping close to the ship and shadows. He knocked out the guards that posed a threat to him.

“Sounds like a plan.' -Pointing to the screen “We’ll have a limited amount of time between patrols so we’ll have to be quick. Unless…..” -biting down on her lip- “We’re not leaving unnoticed, so let take one of those.” -Zooming in on the moving vehicle. “We can take those two out quickly.” Stella had Sinister scan the vehicle to get a basic idea of how to operate it, sending the plans to both her and Trip’s communicators, along with a maps and other general information.

She was checking her communicator, when Trip said he would go out first. “Fine. Take the guards clothes too. We can get them to stop without much effort. I’ll sneak up, from behind and we can take them out quickly and get out of here. ” As Trip climbed out the torpedo tub, she shouldered her pack and shut down the lights in the bay. Moving to the airlock, she grabbed the extra packs and waited on Trip’s all clear.

Trip quickly took out the guards near the air lock and knelt down to the manuel control panel. After a minute or two, Trip had the air lock open just enough to get the stuff and Stella out. "El, let's go, quickly." Trip said quietly as he reached up to grab his gear. THe vehicles weren't too far away, and they had just enough time to load their gear and get out. Once he got his gear in the vehicle, he made sure the air lock would seal again and wouldn't open again unless it was fixed.

"Did you figure out how to work one of these?" Trip asked as he climbed into the passenger seat of the Humvee. He pulled out his tablet like device and looked at the terrain they would have to cross to get to the other vessel. He only wished they were able to get a birds eye view of the site, to see how many inhabitants as well as Nevallians had survived the crash.

With a click of the hatch Trip came into clear view. Stella began tossing out the supply packs. -Jumping down out of the hatch, Trip pointed towards some vehicles just a few feet away. Grabbing her pack and supplies they rushed towards the vehicles. -Looking over the vehicle it wasn’t the small jeep that had been circling their craft. This one was bigger but once inside the basic driver design looked the same. -She ran her hand down what had to be the drive shaft. 'Yes! This should be it." -Sliding one of her knives out of sleeve and used it to start the vehicle.

“I almost got it... one second.”she said. -A quick test of the pedals, stirring wheel, and the gears, she had the basic concept. Turning the wheel to the path with that was the clearest, she floor it, watching Sinister get smaller and smaller in the rear view. At present they were headed east away from there crash site. They couldn't keep this vehicle long, they would need to change soon. -Glancing at Trip working on his tablet, she could tell he was trying to figure out their next move. “Trip, I downloaded the last scans of the planet from Sinister. They aren’t complete but they may give us something to go on.

Trip looked at the time and then to Stella. "Sinister has three minutes before complete shut down. I have enough time to get a probe up to orbit. Hopefully it'd work. If it does, we'll be able to have a birds eye view of any place on this planet, as well as early detection of any vessel that comes towards this planet." Trip said as he worked to get the probe working. It didn't take him more then sixty seconds to active it. He typed in the launch code and heard a blast from the distance. "Probe reaching 35000 kilometers. 90 seconds before it reaches it's orbit. Unfortunately, it's the last probe we have and the Sinister has completely shut down." Trip explained. He was reviewing the last scans the vessel took.

Trip propped his feet up on the dash and leaned back. He started to relax some. His body was still healing from the injuries. It was going to take a few days to a week or two until he's fully healed. "Keep going until dawn and then we'll find a place to stop. You alright with driving for a while or should i take over?" Trip asked his fellow Guardian.

“No I’m fine, the chamber completely rejuvenated me.” Stella’s mind was racing, her thing was machines, but beings were a different type of machine entirely. What was important to different species could vary wildly. However one thing was constant… War, or Military configurations. They knew something had exited that ship, but how they would responded to it depended on this planet, and from the looks of it they weren’t accustomed to visitors from the stars. Her mind was moving a million miles a minute. What were their advantages and how could they use them to save this planet and themselves?

Dawn in Sweetwater...

It had been a thriving town… Once. It was a relic now. A place on the North American map that time forget. Stella didn’t know any of this as she watched the few early rising inhabitants. They were very similar in looks to them, their eyes being the biggest outward difference. People watching, however wasn’t why she was there. Need drove her. They needed a place to hide. The night had been anything but uneventful. Stella had spotted 3 low fly aircraft searching for them. It had been easy to avoid them with her night vision but It would be impossible to hide in the hot light of day. The abandoned shed she found only 2 minutes into town was perfect, at least for the moment. Glancing down at her translator, she sighed. It had yet to pick up any known language. Frustrated she shoved it back into her pack, as she pull herself from the ground. With one last look around, she began sprinting back to the Humvee. They needed to be in that shed before daybreak and that wasn’t far off.

As Stella backed the vehicle into the shed, the problem that nagging her since spotting the third aircraft... How did they manage to stay so close? Jumping out of the vehicle she secured the shed doors. Looking over the vehicle, a cold reality slapped Stella in the face, this was a military vehicle, they were being tracked. She moved swiftly to vehicle snatching the back door open and pulling out their supplies “Trip, Trip, we've got to move. They’re tracking us!” the insistent hiss, crack from her lips. How close they were now was a mystery, they needed to be away from this vehicle and soon.

Trip slowly woke up and looked around. He had fallen asleep sometime during the night, exactly when, he wasn't sure, but he needed the sleep. He climbed out of the humvee and stretched some before he started packing things. "Do you know how far away they are?" Trip asked, taking his gear out of the vehicle and stacked it against the wall. He pulled a bottle out and took a sip of water. He sat down and pulled out his 'cigarettes' and lit one up. He grabbed his tablet and pulled up a live feed of the area around them. "Hmm....small town, not much around, maybe a vehicle or two that we might be able to grab. I don't see any forces just yet. We might have enough time to grab a vehicle and get to a different hiding spot. Wait....There's an old abandoned building on the north end, if we can make it there, we might be able to hide there for a bit." Trip informed as he smoked.

”I saw 3 low flying aircraft last night, and they were close. The first time I thought little of it, but by the third time, I know it was not accident. There's only one way they could have been that close, they have a tracker on us.” -Looking at the vehicle quickly, she looks down and begins rummaging through her pack. “It has to in the vehicle. If I had more time I could find it but time is something we don't have.” -Finding her goggles, she placing them on her head and repack her bag. Moving to the door, she opened it a crack while listening to Trip. “Humm, I saw that building earlier, while doing recon of the area. It’s not abandoned. That’s the thing with this area, things look empty or abandoned and they aren’t. Look south, that building is actually empty. Speaking quickly to Trip, “Get ready to move, I’ll be right back with transportation.” -Pulling her goggle down over her eyes, she moved stealthily out into the half-light of morning.

Trip stayed close to the door, his eyes keeping a look out just in case someone were to come at them. He knew Stella knew what she was doing, and wasn't really worried about her. Trip knew that besides him, she was the best scout and warrior on the crew. He believed it was because of the way they were, but would never know for sure. Trip lifted his tablet and zoomed out, he just wanted to see how far out and the strength of the military. While trying to look, his tablet started acting funny, and tried everything he knew to get it running right again. Trip had two thoughts, one, maybe the probe was damaged from the crash, or two, the inhabitants were using technology to block signals. Which one it was, he wasn't sure.
