Name: Terra Skylark
Age: 16
Gender: Female
I was: Gaea, Earth Angel General in charge of the Western Front.
My wings were: as most angels are, white and beautiful. However, I was not to receive the gift of flight for they were too small; spanning only two feet. Most would mock me for my flightless wings, but I called them fitting for the Angel of Earth. How would I protect the Earth from the sky?
Personality: Terra is just as the name suggests, strong and down to Earth. She thinks things through before she acts and often times comes up with simple solutions to complicated problems. The people at her school consider her talents almost godly, and, said almost as more than a joke, they call her "The Tactician." Terra is the captain of the chess team and has never lost a match; however, their is a downside to her powerful mind. Terra thinks almost twice as much as the average person, and because of this has a hard time saying what's on her mind. Usually by the time she decides what she wants to say her chance has come and gone. This has led some people to call her a push over and she gets walked on a lot because she can never bring herself to voice her opinions.
Because of this problem, Terra has slowly drifted away from most of the other students. She's grown close to books and even became her school's student librarian. If you want to find her you'll probably see her the library with her nose buried in a book. Terra says books are her best friends because, "They don't ask you to hurry and don't expect a response. All I have to do is read to escape into another world." Aside from reading, Terra has taken to helping the gardening club care for the gardens they've grown on the school roof. She even has one of her own and the other students wonder how Terra can grow them so well. She doesn't tell them that she can almost understand what they want.
Bio: Terra was born on March 21, 1993, the spring equinox, to a mother who died while giving birth, and a father, William Skylark, who never stopped blaming Terra for his wife's death. Though he still raised her, Terra spent most of her days fending for herself. Terra's father broke down big time; he stopped caring and rode unemployment as much as he could. Whenever he did have a job it wasn't long. He made constant mistakes and ended up getting fired within a few weeks. Terra felt as if she were living alone. Then, when Terra turned 13 her father finally went off the deep end. Terra came home from school one day and found him hanging above the downstairs stairwell from a rope attached to the above support beam. To top it all off he left a note blaming her for everything.
Two days later she was taken to an orphanage. Terra became aloof and distant. She already didn't say much, but she almost stopped talking altogether; a few words at best. Still, it wasn't long before she was adopted by her step-mother, Alisha Carter. It was a rocky road, but Alisha (Called Ally by Terra) dedicated herself to taking care of Terra. It's been three years and Terra is finally starting to open up a bit.
I: don't fight. I don't need to. The mind is the greatest weapon. There are other ways of destroying an enemy than physical confrontations.
How The Angel died...: A cool breeze blew threw narrow canyon, accentuating the mood of the night. The once strong figure on the ground now lay cold and motionless. She felt a growing pool of a warm liquid growing under her chest and dripping down her legs and she knew it was her life blood draining away. Her vision was blurring, falling out of focus as the angel gazed up at her attacker. "V-ventus.....it was...you? The...spy?" The cold figure above her just laughed as he knelt over her fading body. "You may have been a great tactician, but you were always to naive Gaea. Too trusting. You saw the smoke and the bodies and yet you still refused to see the bigger picture," Ventus gloated. "I almost feel sorry for you."
"B-but.....w-why? It....d-does," Gaea was interrupted by coughing up her own blood. "I-it....doesn't make....sense." Ventus smiled, "Of course it does. I was so sick and tired of you generals lording your power over us, but I found a way to gain power of my own. I've been promised strength beyond measure for this." Is that....it? Gaea's mind couldn't rationalize it. All of this for....power. "They," She coughed again, her vision blurring till she couldn't make Ventus out anymore,"will...n-never....giiiive you...w-what....w-w-wasss...promised," Gaea told him and Ventus' smile faded. A small smile grew on Gaea's face as the light faded, "I....forgive you," she told him, raising a hand to caress his face. "I only regret....I have one life....to give." Then the world went black and the angel's hand slipped from his face. "I don't need your forgiveness!!" Ventus cried, a few tears forming in his eyes. "I don't.....oh god, what have I done." Then the night gave way to desert rain, as if the sky itself were weeping.
