Luca Dante Agani
Nickname
"Just Luca is fine, actually."
Age
Twenty [20]
Race
Werewolf
Powers:
Like most other werewolves, Luca has speed and strength surpassing that of normal humans. He can also transform into a wolf form, of course. As far as his own unique ability goes, Luca's is one that is not particularly noticeable, and he himself never realized until he found himself impervious to his grandmother's attempt to show him something using her telepathic abilities. Outside of the commands and messages from the Alpha, which are there as a result of his werewolf DNA, Luca is, in fact, immune to mental powers, and some physical ones, as well. Mental manipulation, telepathy, illusions, and the like do not work on him. He cannot spread this to others, and cannot control it himself. Luca considers it quite boring, really.

Secrets
Having been raised in Rose City, it would be difficult for Luca to keep many secrets. His general insecurities aren't exactly something he likes to leave out in the open. He also keeps secret his fear of vampires, stemmed by watching his mother and father be killed by them when he was five years old [at which point he moved in with his grandparents in Rose City].
{Cheerful, Goofy, Insecure, Extroverted, Romantic, Loyal}
Luca is known by his peers for being a sort of cheerful, almost happy-go-lucky individual. He's the type who does excellently with pups because he seems to have the energy of one, along with the patience to put up with tantrums and the like. The young man is a big believer in creating one's own happiness for himself, and thus finds it to be a personal flaw in himself whenever he sulks over things. This isn't always the best for his mental state, but for the moment at least, it makes him typically pleasant to be around. Luca is the person that people go to when they want to be be cheered up, or want to get away from tension and the like, because he tries his best to spread any of his own optimism to others as well. His smile is something which is a constant, it seems, though not to the point where it becomes inappropriate for the moment. This is because, while he does try to make others smile, the young man has a sort of sense of boundaries as far as those things go, allowing him to be less annoying than he might be, were he pushily cheerful.
Another obvious facet of Luca's personality is his tendency to be a bit goofy as far as sense of humor goes. He's the sort of person who is a fan of cheesy jokes, puns, and old cartoons that no one really laughs at anymore. It's a more childish side of the man, and is part of the reason why he is so good with children, and has been ever since he was old enough to be considered 'good with kids' rather than just being another kid. If people are obviously seeming sad or having a bad day, his remedy for it seems to always be a corny joke, or a cute but cliche little act of kindness. Even Luca wouldn't exactly consider himself original when it comes to these things, but there is perhaps something refreshing, or at least endearing, in the obvious effort he makes to try and get other people to laugh or smile, if only for a moment.
Still, he does realize his flaws- perhaps to a much greater extent than most other people do, as he spends a good deal more time overanalyzing them. Luca is, to put it frankly, a rather insecure man. Part of the reason for his goofy humor is that he can laugh it off as well if someone pokes fun of it- and can just smile through things, 'typical Luca.' His belief that happiness is something one must work for is prompted by a tendency to become a bit sulky if left to his own devices for too long. Luca needs to keep his mind active and busy to the greatest extent possible, because he otherwise has the tendency to begin overthinking things, especially situations in which he said something stupid, or made a mistake, no matter how small. The things just automatically come to mind for the young man who, for all of his smiles and bad jokes, remains incredibly insecure and overly self-conscious.
Perhaps Luca's most prominent means to keep his mind active is to surround himself with other people, at least to the best of his ability. Well, mathematics might rival this as a method, but his tendency to draw energy from people around him is undeniable. And no, that doesn't mean he sucks out energy from others like some sort of psychic vampire. It means that he feels more alert, more alive, when he is around other people- an extravert, in fact. Thus, the young man doesn't like isolation, or at least doesn't prefer it unless there is a purpose to it, such as exploring an area that is dangerous, and he doesn't wish for others to be in harm's way as a result of him. He is generally a people person, as well, the sort who can get along well with strangers and close friends alike. Even around people he dislikes, Luca can seem as pleasant and sociable as ever.
There is another side to Luca, as well- the side that has a secret liking for romantic comedies and 80s films in which the guy gets the girl and everyone lives happily ever after. He is, in fact, something of a romantic, even if he isn't exactly leaping to admit it. A fan of large romantic gestures and classic love stories, Luca is a sucker for the idea of romance and happily ever afters- he wants his own, honestly. He was somewhat awkward in his youth, and thus never really dated, and this continues to be true at times. Still, that side of him is not completely dormant. Luca is also an incredibly loyal person, who refuses to give up on the people whom he trusts, regardless of what faults they may commit or how they may try to push him away. The pack has come to be family to him, and he'd give his life for every one of them without hesitation.
Luca was born in Rome, but moved to Rose City when he was five years old, and thus views it as his hometown.
History
Luca was born to a relatively traditional family, as far as werewolves go. His family perhaps wasn't completely pureblooded, but both of his parents were werewolves and were considered respectable by others of their kind in the area, even if they were never considered particularly spectacular in any way. His mother was a Delta, his father a Hunter, both from the same pack- and thus, of course they met and, given complementing personalities and interests, the two mated. His parents were very kind individuals, and while they didn't have much regard for humans, they taught him to be kind and tolerant towards them. As a child he would often sneak away to play with human children, for there were not many people his age in the pack- he was one of the only pups at the time. And this all worked well enough, until he was four years old and shifted for the first time. It was a frightening experience for the young lad, despite having been braced for it all his life, and he refused to voluntarily shift for a month or two after that, saying that it hurt. His parents remained patient, however, and life continued to be simple enough. That is, until a vampire with a grudge against the pack caught his parents while they had their guard down, and slaughtered the both of them- while Luca, petrified with fear, watched from a hidden spot. This was the first time he ever shifted voluntarily- trying to attack the vampire, who ultimately laughed at him and let him to live as 'only a child'. This would begin his life-long fear of vampires.
Following the incident, Luca was sent to live with his grandparents in Rose City. His grandparents were fairly similar to his parents in their belief that humans were lesser, but should be treated with kindness all the same. He was sent to a school in the area, and due to continued exposure more to human peers than werewolf ones, he had a different point of view in the situation- he's always seen humans as equal to werewolves in value and werewolf, even if they don't have the same capabilities. At times, he's even envied them for not having to forcibly transform- something which he still dislikes, despite the fact that it is the painless transformation. This dislike probably stems from not being fond of being forced to do anything- even something that he enjoys, for Luca does enjoy being in his wolf form, contrary to what might be popular belief.
As he grew older, Luca was introduced to the pack by his grandparents. As far as werewolf skills go, he was generally considered mediocre, and was hardly the sort of person who would rise in the ranks of the pack, instead content to be useful, but not outstanding. Still, both in the pack and in his school, he would often feel inferior. This was more a result from his school, though, for Luca was the source of some bullying throughout his years. He was stronger and faster than his human peers, but never looked it, and was a nonviolent sort, who ended up allowing himself to be abused, primarily verbally. Besides, he had his pack, and he still had those human friends- people who shared his love for math, American comics, and the like. This was his group- he had two separate homes, in this way. When he graduated, Luca quietly resolved that he wanted to become a teacher, after being inspired by a kind and brilliant math instructor during his latter school years. It is in pursuit of this that he currently studies math at a university in the area.
In the pack, he remains average at best, and is an omega perhaps for this reason- he has no skills that lend him towards other positions or roles. Still, he has come to be content in his lifestyle, even if he is not always content in his own skin. This alliance with the vampires is something which set him on edge at first, due to his fear, but Luca fully intends to make some attempt to face his fears- not all werewolves are bad, and not all humans are bad, so he is trying to not judge every vampire based on that one murderer. Still, he's likely to be a bit jumpy around them for the beginning.
