Personality: In his family, Gideon was always the crazy one. He got into fights at school, his parents had caught him with girls in his bed more than once, and threw parties whenever his parents left town. Fun has always been his priority and that has never changed. He drinks with his friends until he can't remember his own name, sleeps around to his hearts content, and lives in the moment - never thinking of his future. He tends to be flirty and cocky, maybe even a little arrogant, but he does his best to be a decent guy when sober.
Now, despite his strong dislike for drunken assholes...Gideon is one himself and sadly, he's a bit of an alcoholic. He gets pissy, yells, starts fights, and has been known to put a hole or six in people's walls. He's been held overnight in a jail cell more times than he can count. When he's sober, he's not like this at all. He's really very fun, with a sense of humor, and he doesn't going around picking fights with every man in the room.
There is nothing in the world Gideon is passionate about except for alcohol and parties. He has no direction and is more than happy to keep it that way. He finds it pointless to put all your energy into something when there are so many other things you could be doing, like drinking or going to bars or fucking an endless supply of women.

History:
During the day, Beatrix Hathaway would sleep, smoke cigarettes, drink, and use meth. At night she would play around with men who paid for her company, do more drugs, and drink more alcohol. She cared little about her infant son and mostly pawned him off on the neighbors in her shitty little apartment building. If she happened to stay in on a night, Gideon would find himself bruised and scared and very alone in his room after being screamed out and beat for hours. He swore he would never be like her, especially after his sister was born. He had to grow up fast and take care of a baby before he was even ten years old.
By the time his teen years rolled around, he was stressed out of his mind trying to take care of his little sister, working to pay the bills his mother didn't, and keeping his grades up. One day, in a moment of weakness, he allowed himself to drink from his mother's very large liquor supply. He told himself he wouldn't drink as much as her, but despite that he began drinking frequently - all of his pent up rage towards his mother releasing itself the more he consumed.
When he was eighteen, despite his alcohol dependency, he moved out and took Kayleigh with him - figuring it was better for her to stay with him than with their abusive, addicted mother. While he pays the bills and works hard to buy his sister everything she needs and wants, he can see that he's not much better than his mother. After his long parties, where she's stuck in her room studying with her Ipod headphones on blast, she'd come out and clean up after him and move him to his bed if he passed out elsewhere. One night, he had woken up while she dragged him to his bedroom with vomit on her shoes, and he vowed to never drink at the house again. And he never did, but that didn't stop him from going out and sleeping wherever he happened to drop.
Now, while he drinking has slowed down a bit because of the hours he works, he still drinks much more than the average person can handle.
