Overall personality:
Satomi is your typical take-no-crap sort of girl who believes strongly in the equality of men and women. She is a strong-hearted young woman and so she won't often bite her tongue and stay quiet when she's upset, although she's typically not a very aggressive person at all. The only reason she would have for being verbally or physically aggressive is if a man is being very sexist towards her or is a sleaze ball who's only interest is her body and what she's willing to allow him to do with it. Despite this, while she usually hates people who appear to be dark and mysterious, she will swoon over men like that and is not at all shy about it. At the end of the day though, she judges the men she dates based off of whether they show respect, caring qualities, trustworthiness and a kind heart, all of which she is happy to return.
As for Satomi's attitude, she can appear quite sarcastic and witty at times without being too rude about it. Her parents and childhood therapist claim that she uses humour as a defence mechanism but that's not the case at all. When you grow up surrounded by drama and then go from being barely noticed to being centre of attention, you kind of have to develop a sense of humour just to get through it all without ripping your hair out and having some sort of mental breakdown. When it suits her she can actually be sort of playful and flirtatious.
Much like the rest of the world's population of unfortunate children, Satomi's parents got divorced early into their marriage, except her father couldn't even wait for her to be born before signing the papers. She knows now that it was probably out of fear which is sort of understandable but that doesn't mean she forgives him for leaving her and her mother to cope on their own for the majority of her pathetic little life. Up until she was around 14, her mother had brought home many men who claimed they could handle a woman with baggage, and each one became abusive, manipulating her mother until she was left with bruises and scars. At the time Satomi could only sit back and watch. After a while her mother realised the errors of her ways and stopped bringing men home, after Satomi was so emotionally damaged by the events she'd witnessed that she had to attend child therapy.
And, as if that wasn't bad enough, she then had to handle the pressures of becoming more physically developed, which of course attracted the attention of some guys in her school. When you go from pretty much not being noticed to having most guys stare at you like you're walking around butt-naked, it takes a bit of time to get used to. Satomi still sees her therapist every once and a while because she becomes stressed often, both with home life, boy troubles and difficulties with her school work.
Other:
+ She has a lot of pets; Salt and Pepper (rats), Ruby (Westie) and Jinks (black cat).
+ She's a virgin.
+ Occasionally she will see her father but is completely oblivious because she doesn't know him.
+ She lives with her grandmother.
