Jamie Higgens

"Selfish people are not very nice people."

0 · 618 views · located in Harlow High

a character in “Who Dares Wins?”, originally authored by MiraMija, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Image
Name: James Higgens
Nickname: Jamie
Age: 14 in Freshman year.
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Gay

Image

Appearance: Jamie is very short, thin and small, so he's mostly just skin and bones. He has big blue eyes that match his hair. He tends to keep down to wearing the simple things, like plain t-shirts and shorts. He keeps to neutral colors that blend in so he could keep himself hidden in the backdrop. He has no physical build, but still wears basketball clothing, like basketball sneakers, shorts, and jerseys. He loves to play and watch, so basketball clothing tends to be his clothing of choice. He never really dresses up more than a nice shirt and dress pants. He can never seem to dress himself neatly. He will sometimes come to school a mess because he didn't give his mother time to fix him up.

Image

Personality: Jamie is a quiet and unnoticeable person. He tends to avert attention away from himself, so he tends to have a hard time making friends, which is fine with him. Jamie isn't one for friends so much. He can be blunt and harsh, but he never means to hurt someone's feelings. He keeps on a passive expression, and never gets angry at anyone. He will tell you straight up if he doesn't like you or the things you do. He will make his goals clear and never avoid a question. He will answer everything truthfully and to the best of his knowledge.

Besides that, Jamie tends to care about people. If he knows you, he will want to make you happy. He wants nothing more than to see that he has made another person smile. He is easily persuaded and gullible, so he can be fooled into almost anything. That tends to get him into trouble more often than not...

[b]Background:
Jamie's life was perfect. Great parents. Great friends. Great school... everything. Until his father died. When Jamie turned 8, his father died in a car accident. Jamie took it hard. He and his father were very close. Jamie didn't get depressed though. He found a different way to deal with it. He became mute. He never spoke. Not to anyone. He slowly lost himself in his little world and has greatly changed. People began to not notice him as he would never talk.

Jamie was mute for almost 3 years before he met Melissa. Melissa was a new neighbor that had moved down the street from him. She was bubbly and kind, and would try anything to get Jamie to talk. After Jamie began to make sounds, Melissa had to teach the poor guy to speak again. His tonsils were tight and made it hard to talk. By the time he was 13, he was able to talk, but his personality remained pretty much the same.

Jamie's lie after his father's death had stayed pretty much the same. His mother thought he needed something new, so she put him into a new school, hoping that maybe.... just maybe... Jamie would return to who he once was.

Jamie tried to push the girl away as she leaned over him, talking to him. All he said was that he didn't want to go out after school today. Now this girl was all over him. She pressed him against the wall, smirking. Jamie guessed she was a senior. He'd heard of the seniors tormenting the freshmen. Jamie didn't really care. The girl leaned in closer to Jamie's face, making him so uncomfortable. Girls made him so uncomfortable. She put a hand on her chest to try and push her back, not realizing where his hand was.
"Well well well. This could be considered sexual assault." The girl taunted as Jamie let his hand slip down to his side.
"You started it. You are older. This could be considered sexual assault. I could make a great case for it. Older girl leans over new kid? Sounds very legitimate." Jamie looked at her with a calm and chilled expression. The girl stepped back with an angry look in her eyes. She new he was right. She couldn't do this alone at least. The girl left Jamie to walk off. He walked off down the hall with an exhausted sigh.
Jamie turned to the corner to see a girl and guy talking. They looked new... he guessed. Jamie looked at them, wondering if he should go up to them and say hey. They looked nice to get to know. Jamie knew he had to make friends. Jamie walked up to them and tapped the girl's shoulder. "I hear your new? Me too. I'm Jamie."

The games were already underway. Seniors stood in small groups, already starting the dares of the day to the freshmen they had picked out, much like a hungry predators. It was all so barbaric, school kids really had nothing better to do than rip each other to shreds. It was more than satisfying to see the upperclassmen lose and fall from their pedestals; the drop in their popularity and the humiliation that came their way was like candy.

"Pierce, snap out of it." The black haired junior looked over to a girl with short blonde hair, someone he actually considered a friend of his. She was dressed nicely, as always, wearing what the school considered to be their uniform of sorts. Dark blazer, skirt, white shirt, tie, and so on. "Don't get off to a bad start this year." Candy warned. "My sister was lenient, but I will kick you out of the band if you get bad grades, mark my words." Pierce smiled and nodded. Her sister, Carly, was wildly different, but they were both good at leading the band. He had no worries, even if their previous leader was out studying in France.

"Don't worry about it." He told her, glancing over to a group of not just freshmen, but new freshmen. "Worry about them. Johnson and Brown are already blood thirsty this year, they're going to be in a world of trouble once their little game progresses." The girl sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "The new kids will live, stop being such a bleeding heart." Pierce made a face at the comment. "Instead, learn how to dress properly." Candy tugged at the end of his jacket, colored dark purple and marked with a few scuffs and stains from use over the year. He wore it over the white dress shirt most of the older students dressed in, paired that with dark jeans and his trademark Dr.Martens. She attempted to smooth some of his hair down but he only swerved away, causing her to jab him in the ribs. "You look like you're apart of a crappy high school band."

The boy smiled and turned the other way, following her towards their first class. "You would know best."

Speaking of Johnson and Brown, the two famous students had just arrived at the school, eying the younger teenagers like a pair of wild animals.

The black haired girl held a dangerous smile on her lips, with the boy in dreadlocks expressing something more indifferent despite his nature. After a quick exchange of words, they approached the group of new kids, one of them standing at either side the group, as if to keep them from running away. Were these students, or velocirapors? This was some serious Jurassic Park shit. "Hello." Renee spoke, laying a gentle hand on a green haired student momentarily before returning it to her side. "I'm sure you know of the customs of this school. Oh, but I shouldn't assume. Richard, would you do the honors?"

The dark skinned boy rolled his eyes, but spoke regardless. "Listen here, we have a very strict system here. It's survival of the fittest, you're not going to get anywhere on money, or looks," He said, poking Nicki's cheeks as he emphasized the point. "alone. We play a game here, If you're nothing more than a coward that refuses to play you're going to stay right here at the bottom." Richard smirked. "Though, I wouldn't mind it, I can always use some more pocket money."

Renee smiled sweetly, but her words were sharp and challenging. "We'll see you kids during lunch break, that's when we'll start. You have time to prepare your mental state until then." She told them, moving to stand next to her current partner despite the obvious tension between the two."Don't you dare think about avoiding us. Got it?" He threaten, his expression looking even more dangerous by the minute.

((Oh and by the way, I linked to pictures for the NPCs i'll be using mostly, in the Character info thread, if anyone is curious as to what these people look like.))

After getting up from the ground thanks to his brother, Sven was letter joined by a brunette girl, "Hey. I'm guessing your new here too". She seemed friendly and had a nice smile on her. Though looking at her, she thought he was older than he, though it was not in his best interests to comment and tell a girl that she was older than she looked. Sven was too kind to do that, and was purely a mistake on his part, not her looks at all. "Yeah", he responded as he gave a thin smile, still thinking of what Devin said until another joined them, "I hear your new? Me too. I'm Jamie", in which the girl turned round before telling the guy who called himself Jamie, Nicki and then answering for him, before asking, "So..hows the year going for you so far?".

Since Nicki and Jamie had both announced themselves, Sven only saw fit to announce himself and answer first, "My name's Sven", his smile widening since he was accompanied with two friendly freshers like himself, "So far, so good", before asking, "Though I think the main question is whether we're ready for the year ahead? I mean, Harlow High is alot bigger than our previous schools". Sven was now freeing himself up, forgetting Devin, and moving on to his usual self.

However, just as things were working out and getting on, he felt someone's hand on him. First thoughts, he feared it was Devin again to stop him making friends, but when he looked up, it was another female, though she looked older than Nicki, and she didn't hurt him as Devin did, so guess it was ok for now. Still, it seemed they was merely here for a lecture rather than a welcome as she watched the guy poke Nicki's cheeks which were not nice at all, as they spoke about a game, and using some pocket money, before telling them that they'd be back at lunch and not to avoid them.

Sven disliked bullies, he disliked those taking the mick. Just when things were going well, they had to barge in didn't they. Keeping silent, he waited till they were gone before he heard Nicki speak up, "Sounds like a great school", obvious that it was sarcasm. Sven was then next to add to her comment, "My brother warned me that Harlow High was different than other schools, but never expected this. Infact, I never believed him, to be quite honest. Still, it gives them no right to push us around....Have any of you heard of this game they spoke of?", looking to them both, and then around incase anyone else had come to intrude on them.

"They are so weird..." Jamie said bluntly. Jamie actually hadn't heard anything anything about this school. His mom just flung him into the school, hoping things would be better for him. Jamie didn't really care. He wanted to leave the school if things were going to get as bad as he thought it would. He pulled out his schedule, since he hadn't remembered it yet. He struggled to figure his place. What class did he have next? "Uh... what class do I have next?" He ask, holding out the schedule.

"Cool." Jamie replied to her. He turned back to the other kid and asked, "What class do you have?" This might just be his little group of friends for the rest of his school life... it wouldn't be all that bad. As long no one would force them to do something they didn't want to.

"My sisters did but well I was in denial thought everything would be perfect....", Nicki admitted. It seemed she too was told a little bit about it, and thought it was something completely different, that everything would work well. However, looking at what's been happening today so far, it seemed her sisters and Devin spoke the truth. However, for him, Devin didn't speak to him about anything about a game, except that Harlow High was different, where boys needed to learn how to big boys, to handle themselves. Most the time Devin just mocked him and put him down, so he saw his warning as another go at him.

Even when he first approached the college, Devin had already pulled him aside, saying, "Welcome...to Hell", before ranting on about how different it was, that it would not be easy, that he was on his own. Why didn't he mention all that before? He's had ever since he came back home to tell him. Not only telling him about Harlow High itself, or the games, but not about his actions affecting him as well. For Sven, though it sounded selfish, it was himself that he had to watch. Devin could watch himself. As for lieing and saying they weren't brothers, it was something else he didn't feel like doing either. As for being alone, well that was completely wrong when he had two possible friends right beside him. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad afterall.

The only thing on his mind however, was the game, and it seemed Nicki hadn't heard much either. Though, she did know a bit more than him, "I remember my sister saying stuff about dares and whatever", and then he remembered what the Richard guy said, "If you're nothing more than a coward that refuses to play you're going to stay right here at the bottom", and then the play on words, "Don't you dare think about avoiding us". Slowly but surely, it was beginning to piece together, and exactly what he was thinking came out of Jamie's mouth, "They are so weird...".

He didn't understand why, but the way they acted, and how no-one out of the whole playground intervened, it certainly looked like it was all official and whatnot. Ah well, they had till lunchtime to chill as normal, as Jamie asked what class he had. Putting his mind back into action, Sven swung his bag round to his front, before opening up and rummaging for his timetable which he then pulled out, as Jamie asked him what class he had after the two of them had said they were doing biology. Looking at the timetable, he smiled as it said the same, "Me too!". The subject was fascinating to see how things grow, though the subject tended to grow on him, especially where his hair was concerned.

"Then we should get to class before we are late." Jamie said, walking off in his own direction. He remembered seeing the class somewhere in that direction, but he could just be going in the wrong way. He hoped that they wouldn't run into any seniors.... And hopefully not that one from earlier. Well.. just as luck would have it, the girl from earlier came up to Jamie and took him by the arm.

"Well. Good to see you again" The girl growled. Another group of girl surrounded Jamie, making Jamie feel very uncomfortable. Him and girls did not mix too well together. Jamie turned back to see Sven and Nicki.

"It's good to see you too...." Jamie replied quietly. The girl looked up and asked Jamie,

"Those your friends?" the girl looked at the group behind her and then back to Jamie. "Ge 'em girls." Jamie sighed, watching the girl walk towards Nicki and Sven. He always got himself mixed in with the wrong people.

Pierce was never good with science, or really, any school subject for that matter. The only reason why he managed to pass classes at all was from the help of his friends and sheer luck. Formulas and essays just didn't interest him, they halted his thought process and every assignment seemed to gruel on for hours if he ever decided to take it seriously. That's why when his chemistry teacher asked him to fetch a video from the biology teacher for her, he volunteered and choose to ignore the look Candy sent him.

"Ge 'em girls." He looked down the hallway to his right, noticing a scene play out before him. It was Renee and her lackeys again. Julia McClair looked exceptionally hostile today, it must be because of the recent drama that surrendered her family. Really, it would have been so much easier for the junior to just ignore this and go on his way, but he hated bullying. Despised it, even. So instead of walking away he approached the group, the sound of his footsteps making the leader look towards him and narrow her eyes. Great, there goes a potentially quiet year.

"Emotional terrorism this early in the morning? Really, and here I thought you were better than that, Johnson." Pierce spoke, stopping only a few paces in front of Renee, but he only kept his eyes on her. A smirk graced her face and she let go of the boy she had in her clutches, and her little rag-tag gang paused in their actions as well.

The blacked haired girl walked forward and brushed invisible dust off of Pierce's jacket. Her fingers lingered and she giggled, her tone mocking. "Don't you have some food stamps to pick up?" She smiled sweetly. "Or did your father spend them all on beer again?" His face didn't change from it's indifferent expression and he spoke without missing a beat. "I'm more interested in your life. What did you test come back as, positive?"

Renee laughed and attempted to pat him on the cheek, but after the first contact he moved away. "Cute." She backed off and glanced back to her clique and the new kids, irritation flashing in her eyes. "I was just going to show the girls our new additions. I'm not going to hurt them. You understand me, right?" The group of girls smiled and moved closer to new kids, circling them once again. Their ring leader looked back at Pierce after wrapping her arm around the blue haired kid's shoulder, as if to show off what power she really did have in the school. "It's just a little show and tell, Hayes."

Jamie watched this new character come in and as he walked down the hall, he some how hoped the kid would save him, and it just so happened he did. The kid stood up to the girl and as they talked, Jamie kept a mental record of everything. He might need it for later, or even to make sure he's dealing with the right people. First impressions are everything. Now when Jamie heard about the food stamps, he got a little concerned. He wasn't a big fan of people who didn't get the same opportunities as everyone else because of their home problems...

Jamie's face turned bright red as he noticed the girl wrap her arm around him. Her chest rubbed against his arm, making him feel so uncomfortable. Girls... girls always made him uncomfortable. Her chest rubbed against his arm... rubbing... he began to feel a bit light headed and really hot. He tried to push her away, murmuring, "Ah... please.... let me go."

The girl held him tighter, and actually put her lips to his ear and licked his ear. The girl's soft lips made his knees go weak and he was almost ready to pass out. "You are just about the cutest thing." The girl whispered.
"No.... let me go...." Jamie moaned. He needed to get out. He was going to pass out soon enough.

The black haired boy rolled his eyes, Johnson always liked to take things as far as she could and it was an absolutely nauseating display. It was clear as day that she wanted him to take the bait, react aggressively, lose his cool in any way. Boy did she like to see people squirm. Instead of doing what she wanted, Pierce pulled out his janky flip phone. The piece of technology was scuffed and had a piece of duct tape holding the back on. Really it was pretty amazing that it was still functional.

He quickly brought up the camera feature and snapped a picture of the scene in front of him. An older student making unwanted advances on a boy that couldn't be older than fifteen, or as he would call it; black mail. "Now it's sexual harassment. Very classy." His tone starting to come off as biting, not being able to completely hold himself back. "Seriously, piss off." Renee pouted, but released the victim, knowing when she was beat. "Oh, anger. I like it." She commented and looked over to her group and gestured for them to back off with a swift jerk of her head. "That high and mighty attitude of yours is annoying. I'm going to destroy you, and the fresh meat too." Her mouth twitched into a smile again. It was obvious that she wasn't giving them empty threats, she was going to do everything in her power to make the school year be a living Hell.

"Okay Maleficent." He pocketed the phone, maybe that photo might come in handy later. He was really just happy that it made Renee back down, as he hadn't planned on actually doing anything with the evidence if she choose not to. "You have a good time in drama class now." She scoffed but went on her way regardless, soon disappearing down the hall with her posse at her heels.

Senior year couldn't come soon enough, the day when he walks into this school without people like her around seemed too far off. Though, they'd probably just be replaced with a whole new group of similar, megalomaniac students. Pierce ran a hand through his hair before returning it to his side, out of all the places in the world he just had to end up here. Well, that's life for ya'. He looked back over to the group the seniors had targeted, who looked mostly okay except for the one Renee had clung to. "Are you okay?" He asked, somewhat concerned. Was this kid going to pass out on them? Hopefully not, the guy didn't need seniors targeting him any more by being known as the boy who fainted on his first day.

Jamie tensed as the boy took a picture of the scene. Was he going to put it up on the internet? That would be really bad for him... it would mean that Jamie was an easy target. Today was not a good day. This was going to be worse than his old school. He couldn't go through with this... but he didn't want to tell his mother. When the girl let go, a feeling of relief swept through Jamie. This kid was his hero. And as the kid came up to him, Jamie couldn't help but wrap his small arm around him and thank him. "Thank you...."

Jamie let go and stepped back. He smiled weakly at the kid and looked back at Nicki, who looked worried for being late to our first class. Jamie said thank you again and then asked him, "Where's the biology room?" He needed to know. They needed to know. Jamie didn't want to get lost. Nope. Not with the chance of running into another senior.

Alyssa Novak

Alyssa cursed under her breath as she hurried to where she'd planned to be about twenty minutes ago. Her shoes clacked along as she went, but she never rushed. She was the kind of person who took her time somewhat, and never looked to be in a hurry. As she reached the door, she stopped, running her hands over her hair fixing it into place, and straightened out her outfit, pulling her shorts down a bit, and adjusting her shirt. She sighed, and moved out of the way of a few freshmen leaving. She bit her bottom lip, feeling a bit guilty for being so late. She rubbed the gloss off of her lips by accident while doing this, but she ignored it and moved forward. She opened the door fully, making her way inside.

A few freshmen remained, seniors, and a a junior or two. She didn't really know. Two of the freshman were near a black haired boy, and they were talking about some class or finding their way around. He seemed helpful enough. She walked up to him, and smiled at him a little. "Hi.." She started, "I'm Alyssa," she paused, debating what to say. "Novak, I sorta came late.. Which I'm terribly sorry for.." she apologized. She held her bag over her shoulder, and pressed her nail into the strap of it, waiting for him to reply.

His body had tensed over the boy's casual touch. It wasn't that Pierce wasn't used to physical contact, it was just that he wasn't exactly expecting it from the guy, he hadn't really seemed to enjoy it earlier. Then again, having a stranger all over yourself couldn't be that comfortable to begin with. The touch was brief though, and the previous anger he felt was starting to melt away, being replaced by his usual calm. "No problem." He said. "Johnson's a real pain." She always had been, even when he had first met her when she was a sophomore. Even then she was wiggling her way into the lives of those around her, already taking part of cruel games with those much older than her. She really didn't know when to back off.

The older boy was beginning to feel awkward, this social contact wasn't supposed to last so long, he had planned it to be quick but it was dragging on anyways. School wasn't exactly his ideal place to do some socializing, the environment was all wrong. The entire building bothered him, it was lined with rules and expectations that didn't sit well with him. He largely prefers contact outside of the building's white, brick walls. "I'm headed that anyway, so I can show you guys where it is." His chemistry teacher was going to be mighty pissed off that he was taking so long, but she'd get over it. After all, he was Pierce Hayes, what did she expect? He wasn't exactly known for his speedy deliveries.

Just when he was about to turn around another person had approached him, someone that was clearly around his age but she was also someone he didn't really recognize. Perhaps she managed to duck under the radar all these years? Though, he quickly looked over her outfit, she certainly didn't seem like the quiet type that people overlooked. She sent him a smile and introduced herself, talking on afterwards. Did he look like a teacher or something? "Pierce Hayes." He might as well be polite and give out his name, at least act like a normal human being. The boy stared at her for a moment, his blue eyes not once leaving her face, as if trying to place something. "So," He started, rubbing the back of his neck and completely unaware of what she wanted him to say. "Did you need something?"

"Then we should get to class before we are late", Jamie stated before walking away to presumably get to class. He didn't seem to look like he didn't know, and looked confident, so Sven followed until a group of girls surrounded Jamie, before the leader of the girls then sent the other girls towards him and Nicki, "Ge'em girls". Thought she had said we have till lunch, and now potentially miss their first class if they were not careful. Not to mention being boxed in by a load of girls who were not around you for you, but simply to mither you....it certainly was not in Sven's plans. Least he wasn't on his own as he had Nicki beside him. He felt more sorry for Jamie until a black haired boy approached them and stopped them. Sven took a breath of relief.

They were saved!......or not as they left them, "That high and mighty attitude of yours is annoying. I'm going to destroy you, and the fresh meat too". Ohhhh dear. Brother will be pleased that he got himself in trouble already. Just his luck. Maybe he could tell them he was Devin's brother and therefore to leave him alone, but he couldn't, he'd just not live easily at home. Why won't things work out for him, as he then frowned again. Not only that, but then the bell went and he heard Nicki curse, before he heard Jamie ask "Where's the biology room?", as Nicki revealed a map. At least someone knew where they were going. However, he really didn't feel like having another barricade of seniors.

His frown then returned to a smile as the guy who the girl called "Hayes" offered to show them where it was, meaning, they didn't have to worry about no seniors blocking them again. However, he got the feeling from what the girl said, that his helping had dragged him into it, and the last thing Sven liked to be was trouble for others, which caused him to sigh again. Sometimes, he was just too good for his own good, as he then briefly looked up as a girl came to them...well rather Hayes, introducing herself in which the Hayes guy responded with his name, Pierce, followed by Nicki introducing herself to Alyssa.

"I'm Sven", deciding not to go with the surname introduction which would link him to Devin, but yet brought forth a warm smile nonetheleast. Afterall, they would of been in a worser position if it weren't for Pierce's help, but the words that "Johnson" had said still kept bothering him, and he couldn't help it. So to get the feeling off his mind, he then spoke his mind, as he turned to Pierce, "Thank you for helping us", with a smile which then begun to fade, "I hope we weren't much trouble...I hate to be a bother.....but your going to be alright though, aren't you? as she said you too", with his head down feeling all guilty. Maybe if he had walked in another direction, he may of avoided it all, and Nicki would of been out of danger too, and possibly in class right now.

Sven then looked up again, "Are they really allowed to do all this stuff?", glancing at Nicki and then his watch, "and can we walk and talk....first impressions and all....not that we haven't done a great job at that already", as one corner of his mouth tugged at his own comment....

It was a normal day in Harlow Highschool, except for the fact that all of Sherry's close friends were gone for the day. It was one of the days that the chess club would be out of school to compete in some fancy tournament. It was a well known fact that nobody joined the chess club to actually play chess, but you did it to have a day off. Sherry's friends had urged her to join, but she refused, saying that she didn't want to miss any schoolwork. Sherry was probably the best procrastinator in the world, and joining the chess club would only give her a greater chance of styaing up till 12 at night.

Besides, now that her friends were gone for the day, Sherry enjoyed being the smartest girl in the class. Nobody seemed to raise their hand in biology except for her, so every two seconds Sherry would be answering another question. Right before Sherry could open her mouth to answer a question on cell structure, Nicki Coal walked through the door.

"Sorry we're late." she said, walking to the back of the room to sit at one of the two availabe seats. Sherry didn't know Nicki all too well, but she considered her okay. She had gotten some great shots of her at lunch, but that was all.

Sherry also noticed the other two classmates that had appeared. The boy with the blue hair was Jamie Higgens, a queit boy, and the other was Alyssa Novak, who seemed to be a really random and rebellious girl. There was another student who walked in. It was a new kid with messy hair, tan skin, and golden eyes. Sherry had a feeling he was related to Devin Amilio.

There was one thing that Sherry particularly liked about this kid, and that was his hair. It was green, Sherry's second favorite color. She knew she would have to get a picture of it later. Sherry was doing a challenge in which she would take a picture of something every day for two months. She had gotten a picture of Jamie Higgens with his blue hair and matching blue eyes, and now she would get a picture of this guy with his green hair.

Sherry looked around the classroom. There was only one seat available, and a small chance that this boy would get it. The teacher would probably assign him a new seat or something. Sherry was sitting in the middle of the class, so there would be a small chance that this kid would sit next to her. She got a rubber band out of her pencil case, stretched it out, and started to write.

Hey new kid! the name's Sherry :) Just wanted to know if it's okay to get your picture during lunch.
it's for yearbook club.

The last part was an obvious lie. Sherry used the yearbook club excuse for whenever someone caught her pointing her camera at them. She had gotten in trouble with the seniors one time, and after using the yearbook club excuse, they left her alone.

Sherry let go of the rubber band, and it snapped back into it's normal shape. Once the kid got a seat somewhere, she would use her rubber band archery skills to shoot it over to his desk. Sherry hoped that he knew to stretch the rubber band, as that was the only way to read the message.

"I hope we weren't much trouble...I hate to be a bother.....but your going to be alright though, aren't you? as she said you too." The hand that had been on the back of his neck found itself being dug back in the pocket of his jacket. There was no denying that because of his actions that he was going to get shit from the older students, but that wasn't really a problem to him. He had made his own choices, so he would suffer the consequences, it was better than being another bystander. "It's fine, they would have came after me soon or later." Pierce shrugged, that was true, it was never long before some senior decided to try and outwit him somehow to gain popularity by 'defeating Pierce Hayes'.

On the other hand, he doubted that Renee herself would've target him so quickly if he had just stayed out of it. "Are they really allowed to do all this stuff?" The group started walking towards the biology room, forming somewhat of a protective pack. This school was starting to seem too much like the African savanna to him. "No, but the teachers don't notice, or care for that matter." He told the boy that had an interesting shade of green for his hair, which he now knew was named Sven. An unique name for a unique boy. "Besides, they can't really do anything about it." As soon as both parties became involved you didn't want the adults to notice, lest everyone gets punished because of the behavior.

Once inside the classroom Pierce walked over to the man teaching the class, who sent the student an exasperated look. They weren't really on bad terms, but Pierce had given the man a bit of trouble the year he was in the class; he used to be quite the smart ass, and at times he still was. The junior retrieved the video and didn't waste time sticking around, soon making his way out of the classroom. Though before he left he sent the younger students he had met a lazy wave. This could either be described as a good thing, given his reputation around the school, or a bad thing, like a parent embarrassing you in front of all your classmates. Pierce however didn't really care which way it was taken as he didn't stop to think about it.

The boy closed the door behind them, leaving the class to resume their studies, and continued to go on his way down the hallways. They were probably going to be excused for being late, seeing as freshmen, not to mention new kids, got lost quite easily. Plus, the man that was teaching the class, Mr.Gordon, would probably assume that it was Pierce's fault that they were late in the first place. Holding the video, he headed towards his own class room. If he was lucky, the chemistry teacher wouldn't be so angry with him.

Jamie scurried to the back of the room and sat in an empty seat in the very last row. He hated the front... He felt like it was too much attention. Yuk. He looked up at Pierce as he just stood there. When he gave a small wave, it made Jamie smile a bit. He waved in reply, hoping that maybe theyd see eachother again. Hopefully... Jamie liked him. He was nice enough. An interesting character he was. When yhe kid left, Jamie sighed and turned his attention to the teacher, who was clearly not happy with the groupnof kids walking in late.

"It's fine, they would have came after me soon or later", was Pierce's reply, as he wondered if he would of been better of if he had not intervened, though it seemed it made no difference. Pierce was not even a freshman, couldn't be, especially since he had a responsibility to get the food stamps for a teacher, and no freshman would do that when they are just starting and are occupied with making sure their work is done, and that they make the right first impression, which so far for him, he wished he could change.

Then again, it seemed the whole affair that takes place was something that occurred all the time, and could not change whatever they did, "No, but the teachers don't notice, or care for that matter.....Besides, they can't really do anything about it". It was true, and if they were those like Johnson who seemed to enjoy it, if teachers were involved and they were punished, then it'll just make it worse, wouldn't it? Sven sighed, seems all he had to do was just do what was expected of him and do his best, yet it still didn't seem yet. Then again, if he could show these seniors whose boss like what Pierce was doing, which annoyed Johnson, then maybe they'd leave him alone. Besides, it was only their first year...maybe next year would be smoother. Though that's probably what Pierce thought aswell.

At least, they had now reached biology as they said bye to Alyssa, as Nicki apologised on their behalf, "Sorry we're late" as she moved to the back in one of the two empty desks there, followed by Jamie to no doubt take the remaining empty desk at the back, which left him alone once Pierce had left. With all eyes on him, he turned slightly so his eyes were on the lecturer whose eyes looked back, "You must be...Sven Amilio, I presume? You can take Ruby's seat since she's not in today. We'll get you fixed up, but you'll need to make sure you do the work to catch up. Understood?", before returning to his lecture notes, to begin again once Sven sat down.

Sven eyes closed as soon as he said "Amilio", but to confirm what he said, he nodded. Now the link between those who knew Devin, and him, would be established. It was the last thing he wanted, and now like many brothers, they'd be compared with by their elder sibling. For him, Devin wasn't one that worked, and then the professor remarked about catching up on work. He was not Devin! Nevertheless, he took the seat of the desk he had pointed out at, collapsing onto the chair and pulling his bag down before grabbing his stuff.

Out the corner of his eyes, he saw something flash, before a laggy-band was in his sights. With his books and papaer and pens on the desk, he then picked up the laggy band, glanced above him and around him with the odd smile there and then to be friendly. The question was, what was the laggy band for, except for holding stuff, so he decided to assume it was a gift, stretching it and placing around his books, though when he did so, he noticed some ink. Curious, he brought the books near him to read, while his right hand wrote the date on his paper and begun writing the work in note form, before using his fingers on his left hand to widen a bit more, where he saw a note.

The message read, "Hey new kid! the name's Sherry :) Just wanted to know if it's okay to get your picture during lunch. It's for yearbook club". Though he didn't mind having a photoshoot, he was still worried about lunch itself. The question was, who was Sherry? so to remedy that, he simply laid both hands on the table with thumbs up incase whoever Sherry was, was watching him, before he returned to his original sitting posture after a few seconds had passed to return to work, seeing that he now had Devin's bad working example to override.....

After Biology finished, which seemed to drag longer than expected, probably due to the fact that he spent a longer time in the lecture hall compared to outside where he had been confronted with all the seniors. It wasn't that Biology was a lesson that dragged, but being the new kid, being related to Devin, having all eyes stare at you, trying to buckle down, it all added up in the end. At the end of class, he heard all books being slammed shut and a whole commotion erupted in the packing, before one-by-one, his fellow classmates all dashed off to their next class. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't leave so quick as Mr Gordon cornered him to give him the catch up, and still having the "expecting what was to come" look. There was Devin earlier telling him not to mess things up for him, when he was messing up things for him. It annoyed him, yet he didn't show it, keeping his cool.

As he packed things away, he felt a tap on his shoulder, as he then turned around, seeing a young blonde female whose hair was in two ponytails with a wide and cheery smile splashed over her face. Was it that this girl was being polite, or maybe too polite, or too excited. Then again, he was like a new discovery now, and how excited scientists get when they discover something new. Not that Sven was something new, it was probably his hair as usual, always his hair, or something to do with Devin. With her smile, it couldn't be anything to do with Devin which was a good job, as long as word didn't spread around the school that he and Devin were related, or Devin would go ape at him if he done anything wrong.

"Sven right? I would shake your hand, but i'm holding all these books...I'm the one who sent you the rubber band message. Glad you figured it out! We can meet by the entrance to the cafeteria and then we'll get the yearbook photo taken care of and stuff, if that's okay with you". Gosh, the girl really did speak fast. Sven blinked a few times to get adjusted to the speed while watching her lips to get what she was saying. Without thinking, Sven simply nodded quickly too, before she then left his side and towards the door before turning back around, "It was nice meeting you! welcome to Harlow!". Sven blinked again before raising his hand to wave, "Thanks".

It was all he could say since the girl left, leaving Sven to rub the back of his head to get the gist of what had just happened, and then realised that he'd just accepted meeting her at lunch. Wasn't that the time that those seniors were supposed to be onto him. Swinging his bag over his shoulder, he then mingled in with the other freshman, and then, taking the girls' approach, rushed to the next class, hoping he was going the right way, and whenever he saw seniors spot him, he'd enter the nearest classroom and ask for directions. By the time he was back out, the ghost was clear and he was off again.

He hoped that time would go slowly as it had in his first lesson, but unfortunately for him, the lunchbell sounded, and it was time to go outside. He wasn't sure where Nicki would be since girls had their own PE lessons from the boys, so he told Jamie where he'd be and to meet them after he got the yearbook photo sorted, which Jamie told him that he had one too, before heading to the front of the cafeteria, looking around for Sherry, and hoping and praying he wouldn't be preyed upon while he was alone...
