The captain shook his head slightly, not wanting to say it before cracking under the stare of his friend. "I was wondering how to fillet a mer." He replied, though he wasn't completely proud of what he was thinking. Most pirates loved hunting down mers, catching them, selling them, even eating them if they needed to, but Beckett never had. He wasn't one to cause harm on such things, but if he needed to, he would. "I'd say we head out to the Coral Sea, let them find us, and we hook 'em. Harpoon 'em like we do with sharks." He finally added, frowning again. "Only if yer willin' though. They're yer pod, yer family. I won' do 'em any harm, less you agree with it. Not like I want my men to drown being torn apart though.

Sidney stared at Beckett for a few moments, a deep frown growing on his face. "They're no family of mine.", he replied. "But despite that, we're not going after them... I just finished telling you that they thrive on attacking ships. This one would be no different." He stood up, going over to stand by Beckett. "When I was with them, they never once failed to bring down a ship... and I.. just couldn't risk you Beck.", he murmured with a small sigh. "You're important to me... and if anything happened to you... hell, I'd go bury myself and suffocate in the sand."

The man chuckled for a moment and smiled a bit. "Sidney, I'd do anythin' for you, you know that. Just don't go buryin' yerself in the sand. The tide would probably save you anyhow." He said, giving another chuckle. "We'll avoid the Coral for now, but when I get more ships, I'll be makin' mer on a stick." He said, shaking his head a bit. He was happy to know that he was important to the other man, it was mutual. The fact that he didn't want to risk him was a kind thought, but that still didn't make him dislike this pod any less.

Sidney grinned a bit and shook his head. "I think you'd end up liking mer on a stick, actually.", he replied, resisting the urge to say something along the lines of 'this mer, your stick'. "Mer... are known to cannibalize one another...", he stated, quickly clearing the sexually charged thoughts from his head. "So I know the meat is pretty good... ever had shark?", he asked, looking up at his captain.
