Queen Ea of Akasia

She is way older than she looks.

0 · 879 views · located in Akasia

a character in “Witch Cocoon”, as played by Aniihya

Description

Name: Ea of Akasia
Age: 222, appears 25-ish, has been queen for nearly 200 years.
Gender: Female
Role/Occupation: Queen/Witch
Appearance: Image
Clothing: Usual clothing is like in the picture, a black miniskirt, a white button down shirt with a black tie, tends to wear thighhighs and flat soled shoes outside of palace or when doing business. On special royal occasions, she wears a black bodysuit like garment and a white hooded robe over it. More casual clothing includes skirts, blouses and cardigans. Beach wear is a blue bikini with a blue choker and a blue short sleeved plush hoodie.
Jewelry: Usually a plain black choker without a pendant, no matter the occasion.
Likes: To spy on the witches to be, cake, meat, tea flavored soda
Dislikes: Prejudice towards all witches (understand some of the concerns though), greedy relatives, smug nobles
Alignment: Neutral Good, stays in power by being popular and favorable.
Personality: Quite level-headed. She tends to consider all possibilities and chooses the ones that result in win-wins and do the least harm. She spoils the witches to be intentionally as it will influence their later personalities for the better. If attacked by someone, she will deal with them based on the type of belligerence (power hungry nobles trying to coup her end up being killed whereas unhappy citizens are immobilized and questioned why they are unhappy to see if a deal can be made). She often treats the witches to be as if they were her daughters (luckily relationships dont switch polarities after transformation).
Background: Ea was the first daughter and second child of Ruskan of Akasia. Her father was a brutal tyrant. When her parents found out she would become a witch, they kept her within palace grounds. While her father treated her well and spoiled her, everyone else only looked down on her. The anger built up in her and she took it out on small animals she could find in the proving grounds. When she turned 16, she transformed into a witch and all of a sudden her anger and hate was gone and she felt compassion and empathy. This made her realize how bad her family was. So she plotted and trained for years, so that she could one day overthrow her father, even if she had to do it alone against everyone else. When she was 23, it was time for her to overthrow her father after he ordered the slaughter of rebelling serfs. Her magic was strong enough to make the guards tremble. When her older brother, the rightful heir to the throne, stood in her way, she offered to spare him if he helped her actively or through inaction, yet her brother attacked her to which she immobilized him and snapped his neck. Of her nine siblings, only two sided with her and the others stood against her. When she finally faced her father, he told her that she would be the downfall of the nation and the system kept it prosperous. She replied to him that only the nobles and the land owners were prosperous while the rest of the country suffered and his end would lead to the end of their suffering. She immobilized him and had him taken to the dungeon where he would await public execution. On the day of her coronation, she proclaimed that she would change the country for the better and the first step towards it would be the execution of a tyrant. Her father was decapitated before the eyes of his former subjects. Soon she eliminated the caste system, outlawed involuntary servitude and slavery, made education a right for all and granted every citizen a plot of land. While things went upward the following years, there was an attempted coup. She spared the lives of the conspirators and sent them to work as farmers hands for five years with the pay farmers hands would earn, so that they would learn the life of the peasant. Then there was unrest because of nobles abuse of power, to which she turned the system into a parliamentary monarchy with her remaining head of government while giving every citizen no matter if man or woman, peasant or merchant, the right to vote a parliament, a council and a provincial governor. The unrest ceased and her popularity rose, but there was still the widespread prejudice towards witches and still undocumented killings of new witches and children destined to be witches. So one day, she outed herself as a witch and banned the killings. Many were at first outraged but then came to believe that with Ea as a good example, not all witches were bad, so local governments began to send witches to her to be checked and tried if they would contribute to society. The evil witches that tried to attack her were overwhelmed by Ea and either killed or exiled. The good witches were offered jobs as teachers, soldiers or even as part of the royal guard. At the time, she also began to seek out the children destined to be witches and took them in for study and mentoring. Over the next 190 years, the nation developed far beyond the other nations and many military campaigns were done to expand the queendom into an empire. Of the other nations, their archaic unjust systems were abolished and adapted to Akasian standards. Now the nation is modern and still prosperous and Ea has lived to be very old, yet through a means of her own research, she has found a way to stay youthful and yearns to live to the ages of fabled sorcerers. Maybe she can manage to be an eternal empress at this rate.

So begins...

"Witches who are against me? Witches can think what they want. It only gets serious, if they make an attempt on my life or harm the innocent. Most that have tried to kill me are either dead, cannot use magic anymore or have been turned. Probably the hardest and least violent option is to turn a witch from an enemy into a loyal follower. But usually they were rogues who fell under the radar like the one from the village a few days ago. Killing a witch is really more of a last resort. But those are really just those why decide to actually attack me. Most of those whose take issue with me just avoid me." Ea said. "And what do you mean everyone without magic?"

Lack of realization from Queenā€™s side left Cole baffled, for a good minute he kept opening, and shutting his mouth, before words came to him.

ā€œIā€™mā€¦ I truly thought you knew, that there is a notable conflict between the witches and those without magic, I mean mostly afar from the capital, but it still existsā€¦ā€ He paused, wondering whether to continue or not.

ā€œā€¦ it saddens me to say, but it seems there are many who disagree with you, at least when it comes to treatment of those who do not wield the power your kind does. Iā€™ve seen witches toying with villagers - witches who thought it would be fun to burn a manā€™s cart, where he stored food or simply things he ought to trade, to make a living.ā€ He decided to leave out things such as Covens, and the opposing factionsā€¦ maybe nations would be a better word, at least for some.

Ea listened to Cole and said: "That is truly concerning. I take it the people are afraid to speak out against the witches? I am not all seeing, so I cannot know of rogue witches without anyone to report it. I maybe should have then assigned loyal witches to search for the rogue witches. I cannot have them ruin the reputation of other witches. We can discuss this further on our way to the village."

After a brief pause: "I sort of didn't tell the whole truth. We will take a portal to a place where I need to pick something up and from there we take another hours train ride and then the bus. I will expect that Raina will probably head to the village anyways and try to hide nearby as far as I know her."

She headed back towards the palace.

Mayu was waiting at the palace for the queen. She was already dressed in the old style outfit she selected. It was a black bodysuit with a blue kimono-like robe over it and a long blue hooded cloak. The bodysuit had a high collar and a hood she could pull over her face to conceal it during bad weather or in old times during battle. She had black gauntlets that were fingerless.

People werenā€™t just afraid, they thought that speaking out against the witches would do nothing, or worse ā€“ lead to them suffering further. Stupid, it was stupid, that after already being threatened, they were afraid to at least try, but at the same timeā€¦ it somehow made sense.

One would rather suffer what is known, then worsen the situation, and discover something new. Loyal witches may indeed help, and Cole will certainly remind Queen of their discussion ā€“ if she were to forget due toā€¦ unexpected events.

When it comes to what she said laterā€¦

He wasnā€™t surprised at the latter thing, that Queen mentioned ā€“ small change, is what he expected after Rainaā€™s words. He also agrees with Queen, that Raina may still try to follow them, silently ā€“ as an observer most likely.

At the end...

Thoughts were thoughts, and conversation came to an end, all that was left ā€“ happened to be tagging along with a Queen.

They arrived at the palace finding Mayu fully garbed standing next to their luggage. "Mayu, you didn't need to wear that now. Well I guess it would beat arriving in modern attire and having to change outside of the village." Ea said. She then went into a nearby room and changed. When she came out, her attire was similar to Mayu's but slightly more grand. A black bodysuit with black gloves and a high collar, a long black furisode style robe with a white underrobe and a white hooded cloak. She also had a black hood she could cover her face with. "When we get to the village, I should cover my face unless in personal audience as it is per tradition." Ea said.

What the two witches wore, was truly elegant, and certainly far superior to anything he could afford, but one thing came to his mind, something that may at least be enough ā€“ a simple white robe, with a bit of gold at the sides, and arms. Gift from aā€¦ coven that specialized in healing, supposedly they gave it due to how valuable the trade was with him, but he knew well that the reason was much simpler.

It could work, but the sign of hourglass with herbs right beside it at the back, and chest is bit problematic, besides it wasnā€™t originally meant for men, and so it would be strange to have it. Not to mention the possibility of the sign itself giving wrong impression ā€“ as if he was the representative of the said coven.

Maybe I oughtā€¦

ā€œTruly astonishing. Now, I understand the need to be an incognito person. Though if I may interrupt the thoughtā€¦ sadly I lack anything that would be elegant enough to accompany you, expect for one robe, that I find inappropriate to use since I have received it from... a troublesome source if I may say so.

Wait, this sounds far too fishy, besides... Ah, the memory! Queen did say that the clothes would be made for us, if we lack them.

(OOC: Sorry I was so sick that I wasnt really able to leave my bed.)

"If you don't find the one you have to be appropriate, I am sure we can quickly find you an outfit you can wear to the ancient village." Ea said. She called two employees over to help out Cole with finding something decent. "I recommend a standard outfit and a cloak. It can get cold in the ancient village, especially at night. The socks also need to keep you warm." Ea said.

Assistance with appropriate clothing would be ideal, and most of all interesting ā€“ If not for the queen, he would never know how important it is to have warm clothes when traveling to an ancient village. Which from his personal experience is extremely important, for he would do anything to avoid another unpleasant feeling he once endured during his travels to a colderā€¦ place.

ā€œYes, thatā€¦ I thank you my queen.ā€ He bowed lightly, still wondering how coldā€¦ would his fingers end up being, if he went with what he thought of wearing.

(OOC - Well, could be better, also again sorry for such a late reply)

"Just follow my tailor into the other room to get you an outfit. And once you got something fitting, we can set off to the ancient village." Ea said. The tailor opened a door and offered Cole to go ahead.

"Don't worry about us, we are patient. Take your time to find something warm and decent." Ea said.

All of a sudden the Illian king showed up with his diplomats in tow. He was a fat man with smooth facial features. "I hope I am not interrupting. I, king of the Illian isle, am absolutely astonished by your nation and would offer my country to become a vassal to avoid war and in exchange for infrastructure development so that we can have the leasures you have here." The king said.

"Of course, the only conditions are that you as a vassal have a national income tax of 3% as tribute. In exchange, you get stimulus, infrastructure improvements and protection. Is there anything else?" Ea asked.

"If you have one of these so called chain restaurants as a maid cafe, can you maybe have one open in my capital?" The king said.

"I don't think we have a maid cafe chain but I can send someone to help set up a maid cafe in your capital. Now please, we will be leaving for a week for a maturity ceremony. If you wish to discuss further matters we can arrange a meeting." Ea said. The king then answered: "Of course, your highness. I will try to get in contact without within the next three weeks." The king then happily marched away.

(OOC: I just had to insert an earlier non-player character.)

Tailor was a truly helpful person, with a great taste ā€“ that is sadly wasted on Cole, or ratherā€¦ that is what Cole thinks. For Being presented with outfits far moreā€¦ ceremonial, than what he had ever wore made him feel bit overwhelmed. Well, so overwhelmed, that when his sight rested on a ceremonial white robe, with golden attachments and strangeā€¦ golden strings coming out of the waist ā€“ he picked it.

With the simplest words - This one. - Words that left the poor tailor baffled for a minute or two.

ā€œOh, that, I believe it shouldnā€™t beā€¦ā€

ā€œIā€™d still like to wear this one.ā€ He interjected, leaving tailor speechless for another minute. But...

Tailor finally nod, refraining from telling thatā€¦ robe is meant for a priestess. Robe that shouldnā€™t be even hereā€¦
Minutes later he managed to wear the robe, but it was a strange feelingā€¦ way to strange. Well, I wonā€™t know how good it is, unless I go out and ask them ā€“ and with this thought, he went to ask the Queen and Mayu for an opinion. All while neglecting the protests of the poor tailor, who still could not believe robe meant for priestess somehow fit him.

(Well, about your part... bit unexpected, but kay, and here's a bit of craziness from my side - just for fun, and due to what is written about the character ^^)
