Likes: To spy on the witches to be, cake, meat, tea flavored soda
Dislikes: Prejudice towards all witches (understand some of the concerns though), greedy relatives, smug nobles
Alignment: Neutral Good, stays in power by being popular and favorable.
Personality: Quite level-headed. She tends to consider all possibilities and chooses the ones that result in win-wins and do the least harm. She spoils the witches to be intentionally as it will influence their later personalities for the better. If attacked by someone, she will deal with them based on the type of belligerence (power hungry nobles trying to coup her end up being killed whereas unhappy citizens are immobilized and questioned why they are unhappy to see if a deal can be made). She often treats the witches to be as if they were her daughters (luckily relationships dont switch polarities after transformation).
Background: Ea was the first daughter and second child of Ruskan of Akasia. Her father was a brutal tyrant. When her parents found out she would become a witch, they kept her within palace grounds. While her father treated her well and spoiled her, everyone else only looked down on her. The anger built up in her and she took it out on small animals she could find in the proving grounds. When she turned 16, she transformed into a witch and all of a sudden her anger and hate was gone and she felt compassion and empathy. This made her realize how bad her family was. So she plotted and trained for years, so that she could one day overthrow her father, even if she had to do it alone against everyone else. When she was 23, it was time for her to overthrow her father after he ordered the slaughter of rebelling serfs. Her magic was strong enough to make the guards tremble. When her older brother, the rightful heir to the throne, stood in her way, she offered to spare him if he helped her actively or through inaction, yet her brother attacked her to which she immobilized him and snapped his neck. Of her nine siblings, only two sided with her and the others stood against her. When she finally faced her father, he told her that she would be the downfall of the nation and the system kept it prosperous. She replied to him that only the nobles and the land owners were prosperous while the rest of the country suffered and his end would lead to the end of their suffering. She immobilized him and had him taken to the dungeon where he would await public execution. On the day of her coronation, she proclaimed that she would change the country for the better and the first step towards it would be the execution of a tyrant. Her father was decapitated before the eyes of his former subjects. Soon she eliminated the caste system, outlawed involuntary servitude and slavery, made education a right for all and granted every citizen a plot of land. While things went upward the following years, there was an attempted coup. She spared the lives of the conspirators and sent them to work as farmers hands for five years with the pay farmers hands would earn, so that they would learn the life of the peasant. Then there was unrest because of nobles abuse of power, to which she turned the system into a parliamentary monarchy with her remaining head of government while giving every citizen no matter if man or woman, peasant or merchant, the right to vote a parliament, a council and a provincial governor. The unrest ceased and her popularity rose, but there was still the widespread prejudice towards witches and still undocumented killings of new witches and children destined to be witches. So one day, she outed herself as a witch and banned the killings. Many were at first outraged but then came to believe that with Ea as a good example, not all witches were bad, so local governments began to send witches to her to be checked and tried if they would contribute to society. The evil witches that tried to attack her were overwhelmed by Ea and either killed or exiled. The good witches were offered jobs as teachers, soldiers or even as part of the royal guard. At the time, she also began to seek out the children destined to be witches and took them in for study and mentoring. Over the next 190 years, the nation developed far beyond the other nations and many military campaigns were done to expand the queendom into an empire. Of the other nations, their archaic unjust systems were abolished and adapted to Akasian standards. Now the nation is modern and still prosperous and Ea has lived to be very old, yet through a means of her own research, she has found a way to stay youthful and yearns to live to the ages of fabled sorcerers. Maybe she can manage to be an eternal empress at this rate.
