Description

Image

Axel Yagani,16, Male; Weapon
{Nickname}
“Is Axel not short enough for you?”

{Ethnicity}
Asian

{Appearance}
Axel doesn’t have the most intimidating stature. He’s slim and lanky, standing at 5’11, with an awkward body he works well. With dark red hair contrasting his pale white skin, he’s a bit strange looking. On a normal occasion he can be seen with his yellow lensed goggles, though for formal events he sometimes removes them. Usually clad in leather with a video game attached to his hand, Axel has the appearance of a bit of a ‘nerdy scene boy’. To a point, his facial features are almost feminine, with very gentle and non-intimidating edges, though his personality changes his aura.

{Personality}
Axel’s primary mode of living is focused externally, where he deal with things rationally and logically. He lives in a world of facts and concrete needs. He lives in the present, with an eye constantly scanning the environment to make sure that everything is running smoothly and systematically. He is extremely talented at devising systems and plans for action, and at being able to see what steps need to be taken to complete a specific task. However, he can sometimes be very demanding and critical and is easily annoyed when feeling someone isn't meeting his standards. Valuing competence and efficiency, Axel won’t like a person very much if they can’t quickly fix their mistakes.
That being said, he’s actually quite charismatic. Underneath his surface easy going charm and laughter, he has an uncanny ability to perceive people's attitudes and motivations. Pick up on little cues which go completely unnoticed by most other, such as facial expressions and stance, he’s often a couple of steps ahead of the person he is interacting with. This has turned him into something of a flirt when he gets comfortable enough around women.
Of course on top of all of this, Axel is prominently protective of those younger than him, or incapable. Though his meister doesn’t fit into the latter category, he is fiercely protective of her. Though he’s not the brawniest boy, lay a hand on her and you’ll be scared away immediately by a chainsaw of an arm. Even though Reene can fully look after herself, Axel feels responsibility and strong loyalty toward her, outside their weapon-meister bond, probably because of his past. His soul color is green, with swirls of red and black, if you look closely. However, it’s perceived usually as a rather strange colored green.

{Weapon Form}
Devil’s Chain

{Description}
Axel changes into a modern chainsaw when in weapon form. Though it’s his only current transformation, it’s quite versatile in size, types of blade and handle, and can bend and increase in speed to the Weapon or Meisters will. Axels usual large appearance is a shiny metal toothed blade and a glossy red base and handle, while his smaller is a more grungy red and black. Both hold the same powers and capabilities, the only thing that changes is range and looks.

{Theme Song}

~ Personal Background ~

{Biography}
Born into a family with a history of Demon Weapons, it was a surprise when Axel, the eldest of four, was the only child to have Weapon abilities. His parents went out of their way to provide support for him and constantly made clear their intentions for him to continue the family tradition of going to DWMA. However, Axel would have none of that, and instead took to rolling with a gang in the city from the age of ten. He was a rather valuable asset- a quick half transformation to show off his Devils Chain and whatever the gang wanted, they usually got. The small band of teenagers, along with a few younger members, ruled over the worse part of the city. It was a glorious role to most, but one looked down upon by adults and authority figures. Axel developed his smoking habit along with the habit of wearing goggles, to somewhat hide his identity. Despite the pride and glory he felt in the gang, he didn’t want his parents to know the worst of it. They were mildly accepting, thinking their son was just in a rough-and-tumble group of kids.
About two years into his involvement, when sleeping away from home and coming back late was normal, Axels younger sister, 10 years old now, thought it’d be fun to follow him, thinking she might join in on the fun at the same age he had. Axel avoided her in the back alleys until he lost her, then proceeded to the hideout, the same as every other day.
Except this time, his sister was found raped and murdered the next day.
Feeling unbelievably guilty, especially as his family hit financial and depressive ruts, Axel quit the gang and got a job. His former family pitched in bits of money, but Axel began to be a full part help in his family’s financial survival. When his mother passed away at Axel age 14, his father became an abusive drinker. He was fired soon after, and Axel was the main source of light to his remaining younger siblings.(6,9)
He brought home the money, he looked out for them, protected them from their father. On particular bad days, Axel would even deposit the younger ones to his old gang family, before and after school.
When his current girlfriend volunteered to take his siblings into her own home, Axel completely ditched his father. He worked up more money for his new household, his girlfriend and her working parents. He was able to live comfortably, as were his siblings. Even after him and the girl broke up, they remained a nice little family. Axel took to giving money to the young street kids, spurring his protective streak to younger people. The former girlfriends family prompted Axel to join DWMA, and he family accepted and joined.

OTHER: Smokes often, is a bit addicted. Also addicted to video games; is never without one. Even in battles a PSP can often be found in his pocket or boot.

(I have rather high fever right now, though I wont put the blame off. haha. Anyway, point out anything you'd like changed.)

So begins...

Abelie Rizzocelli

The DWMA: Death Weapon Meister Academy. A perfectly symmetrical beauty of a school. Every student at the school has a special quality that allows them to be here. So, at seven in the morning, every students trudges into the school with a passion for training and fighting. The seniors sleep in peacefully, not needed until eight. Rumor has it the time was changed for a certain reaper senior who needed the time to be symmetrical, but who knows. The freshman are ready to pick their partners and everything is set for the day of orientation at the DWMA, some more ready than others. A grand room is set to accommodate the blooming of partnerships and rivalries, friends and enemies. Sid and Abelie Rizzocelli stand at the front of the room, the freshmen advisors and mentors. Below them on a second step are the top six pairs, the models of hard work at the academy, Maka's team and Ox's team. The only thing missing from the grand hall, filled with snacks and tournaments to find partners, were the actual freshmen. But, as the clock struck seven, the Meisters and Weapons came flowing in to meet each other more personally than just talking.

In the large group, a boy in a grey trench coat surveys the possible partners with a large calmness about him. His grey eyes set about finding the perfect partner. Abel, still at the front of the room, surveys the boy carefully. For a new Weapon, he's very calm and collected. Even when a large boy bumped into him, only a swift shake of his shoulder claimed his reaction. Abel would keep an eye.

"Speaking of new partners, your Weapon is arriving today, isn't he?" Abel eyed Sid from her side vision. Was he trying to get her mad, or was he genuinely interested in hearing about her new partner? Before answering, Abel took another look at the students, examining each blooming partnership forming. Each new pair symbolized each new hero, new protector in the world. "Baldur said he was coming in during freshman orientation, because Lord Death wanted us to show off for the new students." Abel added a grin to her words, knowing Sid was usually the one to show off today.

Abel found the kid again. Looking closer, she watches him interact with the other students, seeing them physically relax to the boy's calming, restful soul. She saw his soul's very green color, a healing soul. It was bigger than some of the souls around him, and big for a Weapon.

Hammer Beausoleil

Corbin "Hammer" Beausoleil had arrived at the school in a particularly good mood. He was another Beausoleil melee Weapon attending Shibusen. His name was known well, as the Beausoleil's one of the most prominent Weapon families from France. A blade family is a good ally and the most prominent. Hammer arrived early, only a few lonely freshman stood waiting anxiously to enter their new school. He, on the other hand, was very calm and collected, and tried to relate it to the other students around. His sister Sara would be returning to see him enter the school, taking Kim's place on Ox's team since she was out on a mission for Lord Death. It would be good to see her, after her absence during his past few years. A shiver pulled through him at the thought of bad memories. Never again would he be forced into something by a beautifully wicked girl. The bell bang from the tall, symmetrical building, allowing the thickening group of freshmen to trickle inside the building to find their partners and what exactly Shibusen is. Hammer took this time to find his sister, standing proudly at the front with her partner Alex, and examine people.

He noticed a girl, darker skinned and very closed in, standing near him. Her badge read Meister, but the way she stood told him she probably wouldn't match well. One boy near her, a very open but also secretive soul, seemed to grasp for her soul. Before she could notice his stare, he pretended to flatten out his black t-shirt, also taking measure to cuff his khaki pants so his favorite Converse displayed very proudly. There were other pairs he noticed, a lazy Japanese Meister in the current situation of a conversation with a blue-haired Weapon, judging by their name tags. Another pair was a peppy blonde girl tugging along a red-haired boy covering his eyes with goggles. A very upbeat boy chattered on to a reserved girl. An older man walked through the group to meet the woman upfront.

The girl that peaked his interest was an experienced Meister, from her wearied soul. She looked similar to the blonde girl from before, but older and more mature. She has a fiery red waterfall of hair and a good helping of freckles across the bridge of her nose and cheeks. What had caught his eye were her eyes, the prettiest green and almost fluorescent bright. She is certainly a gem.

Hammer walked up to her with the charm of a millionaire bachelor, his small grin appearing. "Hi, I'm Corbin, but I'd prefer you'd call me Hammer."

His voice was a vocal oxymoron; strong but soft, deep yet light. The rough edges of a waning French accent returning softly to his voice. But it was his eyes that did the speaking. Hammer's eyes showed the want, the need, of having her as his partner. It's set.

Everyone looks so happy. Jacquetta observed the freshman, her arms folded across her chest. They were so bouncy and bubbly, so excited to be at the DWMA. Jacquetta remembered she was like that her first year. She remembered the first time she stepped foot into the magnificent school. She had thought that, from then on, her life would full of nothing but epic adventures. She hadn't counted on the hardships she would have to face or the tragedies she would have to endure. Sadly, she hoped that these freshmen were a little more grounded in reality than she was. Perhaps incidents like what happened last summer wouldn't hit them as hard, then.

Her eyes slid across the room, hoping to stick to someone in particular. She just wanted to get this over with. Jacquetta normally wouldn't be here; she found freshmen to be annoying. But her circumstances were special. Due to the incident last summer, Jacquetta was in need of a new weapon partner. She had been waiting here for a while now, but no one had approached her and she hadn't found anyone worth approaching.

Wait.

A sense of calm washed over her, and she exhaled quietly. What was this? She blinked and shook her head, bewildered, then realized it must be someone's soul. She tilted her head curiously. Jacquetta couldn't perceive or feel souls, but if she could feel this one then someone here must be compatible with her soul. She glanced around casually, but couldn't pinpoint the wavelength. With a small frown, she hoped that whoever this was would come into sight soon.

Hi, I'm Corbin, but I'd prefer you'd call me Hammer." Jacquetta turned and found herself face to face with a boy, maybe a year older than her. His words were simple, but it was the look in her eyes that caught her attention. It was sincere, serious, and frankly rather intense. She inhaled a little sharply. Well, then. That was pretty much decided.

"I'm Jacquetta," she said evenly. "You can call me Jac." Her eyes traveled up and down him. "What sort of weapon are you?" Her accent was Southern through and through.

Reene flitted around from group to group, dismayed to see that most of her peers had already found their weapon partner. She'd been approached by four different people, but upon talking to them Reene quickly realized that none of them were for her. Either they were too moody, too dumb, or too hyper. If Reene was going to find a weapon partner, it would have to be someone who was more of a background dweller. She didn't want her partner hogging her spotlight.

At she thought this, something caused her to halt. It was hard to believe that her mom was actually dead. She'd been so caught up in the excitement of the first day that she hadn't actually thought about it. A fresh round of tears swelled up in her eyes and she wiped at them angrily, determined not to cry in front of all these people. When her eyes were sufficiently dry once more, she focused again on the task at hand. Reene pouted and looked around for someone. All the lazy ones had been taken, too. She'd have to find someone who looked... complacent? She finally found a potential in a red-haired boy wearing goggles. He piqued her interest well enough, so she drifted over to him and came to a stop with a tiny wave and big grin. "Hey there! I'm Reene. Gotta partner yet?" She was incredibly blunt, but Reene wasn't one to beat around the bush. She hated to waste time.

Axel

The only reason Axel slid his PSP back into the side of his boot was that his fingers were numb. That may have concerned anyone else, but to him it was an annoyance that caused his game to end. With a sigh, his eyes continued to wonder the throng of people in the most returning students or freshman, like him. He watched with a chuckle through the slight tint of his goggles as a blue haired boy fell over, sprawling onto the floor.
What an entrance,
Axel himself wasn't one to make such a scene.

Having arrived very early, nearly two hours before anyone else had arrived, he'd had time to wander a bit. He knew the entire outside area of the school, and also what hallways he'd been able to see before being told he wasn't allowed in them until after orientation. He honestly didn't see the point of that. If he was going to be schooled here, he wanted to know everything about it. Aside from the research he'd already done of course.

Now, he continued watching the crowds, noting who seemed to be pairing up with who. He fingered the 'Weapon' tag on his leather vest. He didn't particularly want a meister. He'd never truly been wielded, other then the occasional use of his old gang boys. Often he just changed an arm into the rotating blade of his chainsaw weapon form, and nothing else was needed. So he was quick to realize, but not eager to admit that he was probably behind the other freshman when it came to powers and capabilities.

Axel rolled his leather clad hands and arms up above his head, stretching against the wall he was leaning on. He really owed Kendall. His ex-girlfriend had been the one to take him and his siblings in and provide them with bed and meals for the past year or so. She'd also been the one to convince him to come to DWMA in the first place, to take up his families past again. He wanted to be a role model for his siblings. wanted to be a part of the school, turn into a Death Scythe, yada yada.

Regardless, he'd still turned down his potential meisters. He could be very sociable, but Axel could also be deceivingly introverted.

His fingers snuck down into his boot, fiddling with his gaming system, which rested just above his ankle, snug in the leather boot. He rather liked leather. It made his appearance questionable. Bad boy from the face down, ignoring his lack of obvious muscle and whatever game he was holding. And then one would see his face, which was decidingly gentle, framed by dark hair that made him look very pale, with the sploth of yellow either over his eyes or resting on his head from his glasses.
He wasn't sure where he got the habit to where the goggles. He'd begun wearing them to somewhat hide his identity when he still rolled with his gang but since then they'd grown into a must have in his otherwise black-and-white outfits.

Throughout his thought process, his eyes had still been watching the crowd, simply because he liked to know everything that was going on. He didn't usually dwell on the past like he was; he was more of a present sort of person.

And now his eyes had locked on the form of a younger looking girl, simply because she was coming towards him. He sighed and dropped his game back into his boat, deciding it'd be super rude to pull it out and start playing again now.

The girl was so petite and tiny looking; Axel felt a pain in his chest as she reminded him of his sister, who'd passed away. He automatically felt protective of this girl- she couldn't have been over 14.
She weaved over to him, looking rather hyper and peppy.
Two things that annoyed Axel to no ends, simply because people of the sort tended not to think things through, and therefore would get themselves into trouble.

Her blonde hair danced about her shoulders as she glided over, waving and giving a huge goofy smile.
"Hey there! I'm Reene. Gotta partner yet?"

Axel blinked for a moment, bringing his hand away from his shoe, slipping his PSP into his coat pocket instead for easier access. The girls tag clearly read Miester, and though Axel didn't have a particular affinity for reading aura's, hers practically oozed excitement.
He glanced her over.
He could tell she was looking for something specific, something that had caused her to come over when there was still a decent amount of open Weapons. Axel scanned the crowd, already knowing where most of the free Weapons were from earlier examination. Ah, they all seemed to be rather involved and excited. He was one of the few off to the side, not really interacting. So she wanted a bit of a side show, he was fine with that.
Her eyes were slightly red- irritation, allergies, tears. Perhaps she had sneezed, or perhaps she was emotional.
They also betrayed a deeper side, behind her blunt first impression. She was probably intelligent, probably a story behind her apparent carelessness.
Her bluntness? She was eager to get started in school probably, wanted to quickly find her partner so they could officially begin. Something to prove maybe? Or maybe she was one for schedules, or more likely, one who wanted every second to count.

His through examination had taken less then ten seconds. His attention was piqued in away the other potential meisters hadn't been able to. He wanted to know the facts that were hidden from him. Whether that resulted in them being partners or not, he was drawn to knowing her. Perhaps that meant they should be paired. But then, Axel was new to this. he didn't know. So he just tried to be as socialable as he could.

"Hey." He said shortly, with a small smile. "I'm Axel. Looking for a Weapon?" He swiped a bit of his bangs off the lens of his goggles.

He wasn't sure how well they would get on if Reene was exceedingly like his once over suggested, he wasn't sure how well this would work. But, he was willing to try.
However, this prospect of unknown conversation was irking him. What did one talk about with a meister? A normal conversation, or something of their heritage, perhaps his weapon type? His goggles gratefully covered his slightly panicked look.
Axel inwardly told himself to stop over analyzing everything.
A pinging noise from his pocket actually interrupted his thoughts, and by the time he'd cast a glance at it and put his personal play station away, he was calm enough.

"You're a freshman, am I correct? You look a bit young," He said simply. After all, for all intents and purposess, he was rather blunt as well, but from one blunt person to another, she doubted this Reene girl would care.

"Hey." A small smile flickered across his lips. "I'm Axel. Looking for a Weapon?" With a quick movement, he flicked his bangs out of his eyes and assessed her. A quiet ping caused his eyes to flash down at his pocket, and Reene guessed he must have some sort of game with him. Cool. She liked video games. "You're a freshman as well, am I correct? You look a bit young."

He was pretty blunt, too, a trait that Reene appreciated in someone. She smiled. "Yeah, I totes need a Weapon," she said in her quirky Southern accent. She tended to use a lot of strange words; sometimes she would even use 'lol speak' to communicate with others, a fact that often got on other people's nerves. "And yeah, I'm a freshie. Thirteen." Her mouth formed a small 'o' and she blinked at him wondrously. "Oh em gee, are you a freshie, too? You look older than me. Then again, you could just look old for your age," she prattled on, not seeming to notice that her talking was a little bothersome to Axel. "Oh... unless you had a partner before?" Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly as she contemplated him. He seemed a little too broody to be inexperienced. From her guess, she would have to say that maybe he did have a partner once, but that partner probably either left him or died. Things like that were pretty common, it seemed. Heck, her own sister Jac's previous partner had died in a battle against a witch! Oh, wait... Jac! Reene's eyes shot wide open in panic. "Er, uh, um," she stammered. "H-hold up one sec, 'kay?"

Her head twisted from side to side frantically, but she could not see Jac. Maybe she wasn't here... but no, she would have to be if she was going to get a new partner. She turned back to face Axel again. "Ne'er mind. It's cool." Out of nervous habit, she began to stroke a piece of her long blonde hair. She knew eventually that she would have to face Jac eventually. As loud and show-offy as Reene was, her presence would not go unnoticed. Besides, Jac had to know of their mom's death somehow. But Reene didn't want to see Reene cry. She wasn't sure how she would be able to handle that; in her head, older sisters weren't supposed to cry. They were supposed to be strong. But it always seemed that, in her family, at least, that Reene herself had to be the stronger of the two.

She couldn't help but slightly resent Jac for running off. Reene had to take care of their mom herself. It was a lot of stress! A lot of pressure! And here, Jac got to socialize and make new friends and be the star of the show. But not anymore. Now, it was Reene's turn to shine. Jac would just have to face the consequences of abandoning her own family, once and for all.

It had taken some time, though Steel’s strength was recovering slowly. There was so much going on around him, that the youth found it easy to get lost, in just surveying the room. The tiniest shock of envy fluttered through his veins when he saw a soon-to-be meister take hold of a male who transformed, immediately, into a hammer. They seemed happy, they were probably a lot like him, eager to meet someone who completed their soul, and made good use out of their own wavelengths. Of course, Steel wasn’t opposed to this thought process, but his own wavelengths were different. Thus far he’d never been too keen on taking up a single weapon, and doing battle against ferocious hordes of baddies. Instead, he preferred his floral suitcase.

Just when Steel found himself lost in studying the crowd, he heard the sounds of footsteps. They were uniform, and sluggish… the sound of someone unsure. The large doors opened up behind him, and their owner appeared. The youth half expected the girl to ask him to move out of the way, yet she didn’t. Instead she made a line directly for the professors, and the box –the boy now learned- contained nametags. “So that’s where they get those from.” Looking down at his own napkin crafted badges, he preferred his work. It was more him. While he couldn’t be sure, Steel assumed now, everyone was all here. Now would be the time for someone like him to begin socializing. Even if he didn’t find a weapon out of this crowd, he could find a friend…maybe.

Slowly the youth moved from the suitcase. Part of him wanted to move to the buffet and slay countless numbers of cocktail shrimp, and that was the part Steel was fighting hard not to listen to. ”Conversation first, then breakfast.” A sour look appeared on the boy’s face. He really wanted to continue being a one-man show, but if he never tried anything else he’d never succeed. It would be harder to get between groups of people, as an assassin-in-training, he at least knew the basics. “First rule of assassins, single out a target.” Scanning the room, the crowds of people would be dissected in a single glance. Some were too busy. Their focus was entirely upon the person they’d bumped into earlier, as much as steel wanted to be worshiped by them all, he’d have to go about it when they had the time to truly see the scope of his greatness. Others, they were just now finding the courage to speak to someone they thought completed them. They too, were out of the question. “That just leaves one.”

Tunnel vision immediately took over; sweeping the crowd from his vision, and making Steel’s entire focus lock onto the perfect target. With renewed vigor, the youth stood and stretched before attempting to break through the crowd. It would be easy enough to move between them if he didn’t rush through this. Even though his wavelength was abuzz at finding the perfect target, his body would do the best it could to remain stoic. Calmly, he’d move behind the pair he’d seen earlier, now the short woman was swinging around the hammer, eager to test out her skills. A look of pure glee was wrapped on her features. Then too, he passed another pair, this one contained a tall boy who might have even spoken as loud as Steel, though he had been approached by a woman eager to find a new weapon.

Finally his own feet, and subtle movements had carried him behind his target. It was none other than the girl who had been late. “Ya’ know it takes great skill to be later than me! “ Somehow, his voice came out calmer than he thought it would. Generally Steel had so much energy that he talked a mile a minute. While his octaves were still loud enough to carry over the crowd, they had enough poise to be useful in a one-on-one situation like this. “Some here, might even think you tried.” A genuine smile crossed his lips, just now, the boy was close enough to finally take a peek at her nametags. ” A weapon? “ His hand outstretched towards the girl. “Steel Nova, I’m the man these chumps are all gonna’ be talkin’ about by the end of the year. They’ll be all, wow Steel’s so brave, and did you see that!? He’s so awesome. “ There was a sense of earnestness about his voice as if Steel truly believed in what he was saying. “So what kind of weapon shows up later than a yet-anointed king? Clearly someone who knows their own greatness, right?” Apparently, this boy also thought being late was something of a badge of honor for those with strength. A single look from the professors could tell anyone differently, but he paid no mind to them. Steel, was lost in his own fantasy.

Axel

Axel couldn't help the twitch in his lips, smile growing slightly at Reene's quirky was of speaking. It might become a small annoyance to him, but it was something childish and innocent that made him like this girl.

"Yeah, I totes need a Weapon, and yeah, I'm a freshie. Thirteen." Her face took on an expression of wonder. "Oh em gee, are you a freshie, too? You look older than me. Then again, you could just look old for your age.Oh... unless you had a partner before?"

She talked a lot. But Axel supposed it would be a balancing trait. Though he could be charismatic, it was more his style to lay low and keep tabs on everything happening. She blinked at him in an awe and contemplating way, and Axel debated how to answer. He didn't really want to dwell into his past, or make it seem like he was incapable. Despite the fact he had limited knowledge on the workings of 'Meisters and Weapons', or at least, what they did in the Academy, he was more then experienced with his Weapon form. However, he'd never had anything akin to a meister. If he ever had the need to go full out weapon form, who ever happened to be with him in the gang would 'wield' him.
He opened his mouth to respond when the little blonde's expression turned to one of panic.

"Er, uh, um," she stammered. "H-hold up one sec, 'kay?"

He watched her quizzically as she twisted her head side to side. Looking for someone? Past arrangement? He perked himself onto his toes. Already being tall, this gave him a pretty well look at everyone in the room. Hm, who could she be looking for. Perhaps he'd lend assistance. After all, he knew the general whereabouts of every person in the room. Speaking of which, he mentally updated his map of the room with a few new faces, and changed others locations. He liked having a vague idea of everything that was going on around him.

He settled down again and rested his eyes on Reene, who'd given up her little search. She was now stroking a piece of her hair.
Axel took in her new state silently. The hair thing, probably a nervous habit. She looked a bit worried, but also there was new fire in her eyes.
The older teen contemplated this, then told himself to stop. He obviously had a connection to this girl the other meisters had failed to provide. Therefore, if everything went smoothly, he would find out everything he wanted to know under her terms. No need to keep over thinking, exaiming and reading into everything she did.

He noticed a few other groups had even begun to transform, test out their weapons. Axel balked for moment. His own weapon form was a rather large and powerful chainsaw. He honestly couldn't picture this little innocent girl wielding him like that. He made a note to make his blade shorter, his handle smaller, at least until he was sure of her strength.

"Alright, well, to answer you're question, I'm 16, but yes I am a freshman," He enunciated slightly on the proper term of the word, sure Reene would get the hint and correct some of her grammar so it wasn't as much of a bother to him. He could live with her normal speech, but would always be mentally straining not to correct her, so a few gentle nudges couldn't hurt.

"I'm starting my schooling a bit late, as I was, ah, otherwise preoccupied before."
There, that sounded good.

"I've never had a true partner before. It's been more of a whoever's convenient type of commitment." He paused, then decided to dive right in. He didn't like the unfamiliar territory this conversation had him in, but, better blunt then nothing.

"If you considered a possible partnership with me however, I can promise I'll do my up most to protect you."
That was a given of course. Axel held strong morels to keep safe anyone younger than him, or less able.
"Though I may not have all the experience some others do, I'm a fast learner, and I feel we'd do well together."

That much was true. Being around Reene's wavelength was chaotic, but in a good way, a strong way. Like getting dropped into a hurricane and having momentary panic, before you stumble into the eye of the storm and find a paradise.
Then he made a slight face.
"However, my Weapon form.. it's well... I'm a chainsaw. A rather large one at that." His face clearly showed his doubts at her capability to handle him. Even if their souls matched nicely, it didn't mean they were a perfect match.
"I can transform if you'd like? I can always go into my close range form as well, it's smaller. Oh, and also, perhaps after I can help you find who you were looking for. I have a general image of everyone in the room."

Axel was quiet then, waiting for Reene's reaction. He couuld be charismatic, sure, but that didn't mean he liked to talk so much.

(My laptop will not let me tag Reene for some reason ._. Sorry bout that)

"Well then, Miss Jac, you have yourself a weapon." Jac smiled widely at him, then noticed a girl coming up behind him. She had her eyes fixated on Hammer. As Jac raised her finger to point, the girl tapped Hammer's shoulder and then leaped on him.

"Awh MY BABY BROTHER GOT A MEISTER!" Baby brother? Jac's eyes widened. Well, she could kind of see the family resemblance? She blinked and watched the two, not sure if she wanted to get involved. But then, she didn't have a choice, as the girl turned to her and pounced. "You're so cute! You can call me Big Sis, my name's Sara!" Jac balked for a moment, not quite sure how to react. Cute? She most certainly was not cute! She was fearsome!

"Uh, okay... Big Sis." Jac tried out the foreign words and frowned slightly. Reene used to call her that a lot. It felt strange using that for someone else. "Nice to meet you, Sara. I'm Jac." She grinned. Her eyes trailed Hammer in a panicky way as he went out in the hall. Then she told herself to relax. It would be fine. Sara reminded her a lot of Reene; she knew how to handle Reene. "So, like, what grade are you in?" Sara looked about her age. "I've never seen you before?" At that moment, Hammer came back and smiled at her. She returned it, then looked back to Sara questioningly.

In her head, though, she was contemplating Reene. She hadn't called them in a while. Perhaps she call them later tonight, to check up on mom and Reene.

"Alright, well, to answer you're question, I'm 16, but yes I am a freshman." She noticed how he emphasized the word freshman and made a mental note to say that from now on. Reene knew that some people hated the way she talked; it was what came with being as 'derpy' as she was. "I'm starting my schooling a bit late, as I was, ah, otherwise preoccupied before." Reene nodded. Guess he don't wanna talk about it. "I've never had a true partner before. It's been more of a whoever's convenient type of commitment. If you considered a possible partnership with me however, I can promise I'll do my up most to protect you." He seemed a bit uncomfortable; Reene guessed he just didn't like to talk so much. "Though I may not have all the experience some others do, I'm a fast learner, and I feel we'd do well together."

Reene grinned up at him. "That's okay. I don't have much experience, either." She was thrilled that this was actually working out. Reene was scared that people would be scared away because she was so hyper. She looked at him curiously when he made a strange face.

"However, my Weapon form.. it's well... I'm a chainsaw. A rather large one at that."

"Oh. Em. Gee," she muttered softly. Her eyes lit up and she bunched up her shoulders, trying to keep her excitement contained.

"I can transform if you'd like? I can always go into my close range form as well, it's smaller. Oh, and also, perhaps after I can help you find who you were looking for. I have a general image of everyone in the room."

"Yesyesyes!" she gasped out. "Transform! Also, don't worry," she said with a strange yet knowing smile. "I took martial arts back home. I'm stronger than I look, seriously." Then she shook her head at the next part. "Oh, it's fine. I'm not really looking for anyone." Lies. In reality, she wanted to start shifting a little left. A loud shout had drawn her attention away from Axel for a second, and with a panicked pang she recognized her sister's head of flaming red hair; she only hoped that Jac wouldn't look this way. "Should we move over a bit?" she asked casually, taking a few steps right. "Don't wanna get in anyone's way."

((Hey. I just realized. Red + Green = Christmas colors. BEST. SOUL. COLORS. EVAR.

Also, it's cool, Jen. ^ ^ I understand.))

Axel

Axel chuckled slightly at Reene's obvious excitement, slightly disbelieving at her 'strength' but deciding to trust her. He could tell she was lying about not looking for anyone, but he wouldn't press. Instead, he followed her suggestion to move over some. Despite the fact that no distinct area in the room was less filled then another, seeing as each pairing of people and groups were a decent distance away from each other. Again he didn't question. Though his rotatory blade was controlled by his own will, or, he supposed, his meisters, he didn't want anyone close.
"Warn me if I'm to heavy," He said simply, zipping his PSP safely in his pocket. It was a wonder the thing didn't break, though he'd only transformed fully once or twice while it was on his person. If it broke he'd be extremely pissed.
He threw that thought out of his mind and transformed, falling into Reene's hands as a gleaming red chainsaw.

Axel had feared something cartoonic- that she get a hold of him and fall forward immediately from the weight. But she handled him well, and Axel pondered the belonging he felt as she tested out his maneuverability. He wasn't eager to fire up his blade, but Reene seemed to want to, so he opened the channel in their resonating souls so she could control the power and speed to her hearts content, with a little influence from Axel.
Then it hit him in surprise. Was this was it felt like for souls to fit together?
It wasn't a jagged fit like Axel had felt with his past few wielders. While they had simply held him, and directed him, with most minstrations done on his own, Reene was like a perfect fit- The perfect, and favorite party combo in his video games.
Axel denied that comparison, not liking how absolutely nerdy it sounded.
After Reene had had a few moments with his usual form, a nearly 2 1/2 foot saw with the large blocky handle, he swapped smoothly into his most used shorter form. Only about a foot long with a smooth black handle. Of course, his different sizes could be adjusted with a bit of concentration, but personally, Axel was happy with the low effort and comfort in his current forms.

Once Reene had had her fill, Axel transformed back, hastily pulling out his PSP and holding it up, checking this way and that for any sign of damage. When it was okay, he was momentarily distracted by his notifications bar, administering a few potions to his characters before dropping it at side length where it landed snuggly in his boot, and obviously well used maneuver.

He smiled a bit at Reene, actually quite pleased with the potential she had to be his meister.
"Well, I suppose, if you're up for it, i'd say we have compatibility to a certain extent." He meant this is a good way , a great way, it just came out wrong. He threw out one leather gloved hand. "Partners?"

Sara looked her over, trying to put her name to a memory in her head. "I'm a senior, if that-" Immediately, Sara's eyes shot open wide and a look of recognition crossed her features. "Oh, you're Jac Marston! I thought you already-Oh!" Her partner, whom Jac knew to be Alex, jammed his elbow in her ribs with a pointed look. Jac's smiled wavered slightly. Brooklyn and Alex had been good friends, and they hung out quite frequently before she died. She had gone with Alex to Brooklyn's funeral with him, even though they hardly knew each other. "Well, if what I think is correct I started four years before you. It's good you're with my brother, he's a Hell of a hammer when he's not all mellow and shit." Jac's eyebrows raised for a fraction of a second at Sara's language, but Jac herself had a bit of a potty mouth. At least she knew she could safely cuss in front of this girl. She wasn't sure about Hammer, though.

Hammer thankfully returned before the situation got too awkward, and Jac breathed a sigh of relief. Sara flicked his nose with her finger and then drifted off to who knows where. "She's the only blade in my family so she thinks she special. I think she's special, all right," he explained with a wink. Then he offered his hand out for her take, and she glanced at it distrustfully for a moment before deciding it was okay. She let him lead her out into one of the long hallways. He leaned up against a window and peered out for a moment, then slid down slowly. "Jac, what's it like to have a good partner?" His demeanor had suddenly changed, and Jac blinked at him curiously.

Jac leaned against the wall and let her gaze wander up to the ceiling. "It's... nice," she said quietly. "Like having a best friend. No, more like a brother or sister. You're really tight. You can completely trust them." She glanced sidelong at Hammer and considered the astounding compatibility of their souls. "Though Brooklyn and my soul didn't resonate quite as strongly as ours do."

Hammer was quiet, and then when he spoke he had an expression of pain and nostalgia. "You know, I used to have a partner in this little group. Her name was Daisy. Daisy was horrible to me, now that I think about it. We even went through Soul Rejection. You're nothing like her, Jac, and I hope you never will."

Jac's eyes widened slightly. What in the world was he doing with a partner like that? Jesus. "I won't," she promised sincerely, now turning her head to fully look down at him. Eventually she just hopped up on the sill and sat next to him, arms wrapped around her knees. As she tilted her head and contemplated him silently, she felt a sense of familiarity. She had seen him before, somewhere. She was sure of it. She frowned slightly and was about to comment this when he suddenly turned to her with an intense look.

"Wait." He leaned in and examined her face closely. Jac leaned back slightly and blushed, returning his look with an inquisitive one of her own. "That is you! You saved me from a Kishin Egg, when I was with Daisy."

Jac's eyes widened as he pulled back and grinned at her. "Omigosh! That's where I know you from? I remember that mission..." Mad Soul Beausoleil. That was the mission she and Brookyln had been assigned to, a couple months before Brookyln died. She remembered encountering the pair that had tried to defeat the Mad Soul Beausoleil on their own. They were pretty juvenile. They went through Soul Rejection; that was how bad their compatibility was. She tilted her head and contemplated Hammer. If they had met sooner, she wondered if he would have already been a Death Scythe. Strange how things worked out sometimes. She grinned at him. "Well, then, we're not total strangers, are we? Good."

"Warn me if I'm too heavy," Axel said lightly, tucking his PSP away safely. Then he transformed and fell into Reene's hands in the form of a shining red chainsaw. Reene gasped in pure delight, a wide grin spreading across her face.

"Whoa!" she murmured, swinging the chainsaw around lightly. Silently, she urged him to fire up the blade. To her delight, the blade began spinning faster and faster and louder. A giddy little giggle escaped, and soon she was all out laughing. She sounded and looked insane (which, in truth, she kind of was.) She tried to ignore the strain on her muscles as she swung the blade around and over her head. She was strong for her size, sure, but that wasn't really anything compared to other people. She sighed quietly with relief as he turned into a smaller, less chunky black-handled version. "Sweeeet!"
After a few minutes, she finally let Axel change back, albeit reluctantly. She'd been having a little too much fun wielding him. She grinned at him, pleased with how well their souls resonated. It was perfect. But, then again, she'd never had a weapon before. She would just have to guess that they would work well together.

"Well, I suppose, if you're up for it, I'd say we have compatibility to a certain extent." He tossed out his gloved hand, indicating he wanted her to shake on it. She assumed that his words were blunt, but that he genuinely wanted to pair up. "Partners?" Reene gladly stuck her hand in his, her shake surprisingly delicate for someone so loud and rowdy. She wasn't generally rough with people she had just met.

"Definitely! Can't wait until we get to work together!"

Axel took Reene's hand gently and shook it lightly with a wide smile. "Nor can I. And I promise, you'll never come to harm if I can help it, no matter the battle. Never again will one be hurt because of me." Reene blinked at this, filing the information away for later. Obviously, he blamed himself for someone else's misfortune. The guilt weighed heavily on his mind. She would ask about that later, if he ever felt comfortable enough to talk about it. A little self-consciously he pulled his goggles back down over his eyes. Then he ran his fingers through his hair and glanced casually about the room. After a moment he sighed and looked back down at Reene. She gave him a tiny grin.

"You're short." Reene giggled but decided to ignore that comment. Yeah, she was pretty short. "What do you suppose we should do now?" His lips twitched up into a slight smile. "Shall we make some friends?"

"Yeah!" Reene agreed enthusiastically. A moment later, though, he was distracted again, his eyes flitting about. She watched him curiously, and when his attention fixated back on her once more he shrugged apologetically. "Sorry, I have a tendency to... over analyze. Don't take it offensively please." Reene shrugged nonchalantly.

"'S cool. Same thing with me." She started to say something else, but then a new voice rang out over the crowd with a strong hint of authority.

"Hello freshmen, welcome to the DWMA." A woman had stepped into the middle of the room. Reene observed her with interest. "My name is Abel Rizzocelli. I made my partner a Death Scythe as you will do in your years here at Shibusen. Now, there is good and bad. You will make friendships here that will last throughout your whole life, and you might even partner with the love of your life. A true connection between Meister and Weapon is what someone can die from." Reene frowned. Well, that took a dark turn. "You need to be able to protect yourself. My partner almost died to save my life. Weapons, and Meisters, literally and truly die for each other. There are pairs right now fighting for their lives. But if you truly love your partner, it is all worth while. Now, please start moving into your dorms and pick your missions in the morning."

Jac had been paying rapt attention to Abel's speech, but Hammer's next question startled her back into reality. "Wha--? Move in?" She looked at him, astounded. Then she shook her head with a small laugh. Right, here that was normal. Of course, in the south, that would be a different matter. But here... things were different. "Yeah, yeah, that'd be cool. You wanna move in tonight, or do you need a bit to pack yourself up?"

"Oh..." Reene turned and grinned sheepishly at Axel. "Y'know, I never actually thought to get an apartment here... so, I'm kinda homeless." Her eyebrows furrowed and she grimaced. "Um... if it's not too much of a bother, mind if I stay with you? Or something. I dunno."

Jac's eyes seemed drawn to something in her peripheral, so while she waited for Hammer's reply, she let her gaze drift slightly to the right. With a jolt, she spun wildly and gaped. "Oh. My. God." She watched the little blonde girl chat rather casually with a tall, red-haired boy of maybe sixteen years. The girl seemed to be talking about... moving in with him? "Aw, Hell naw!" The words were out of her mouth and Jac had stormed up to Reene before she quite knew what she was doing. "Reene?! What the Hell are you doing here?"

Reene's own tawny eyes widened with absolute surprise. "Uh--I--uh," she stammered. Jac shook her roughly and Reene yelped. "I--I'm attending this year! I'm going to school here now!"

Jac grit her teeth. "You mean you just up and left Mom behind? What is wrong with you? We need to talk." Jac glanced up at Hammer and Axel, then smiled pleasantly. "Give us a sec, 'kay?" Then she proceeded to drag Reene into the hallway none too gently. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be taking care of Mom at home."

Reene glared at Jac with watery eyes and yanked herself away. "Yeah, well you know what?" she spat bitterly. "She's dead. Mom's dead."

Jac was so stunned that she stumbled backwards a few steps. She stared unblinkingly at Reene, then whispered, "No. When?"

Reene sniffled harshly and wiped at her eyes angrily. "Two weeks ago."

"Wh-why didn't you call?" Reene shrugged silently. Jac repeated the question, but Reene refused to answer her. "Answer me, dammit!"

Reene finally met Jac's eyes with a cold, stony glare. "I didn't think telling you over the phone was right, 'kay? Besides... it was either you move back home or me come here. Seeing as how you're too selfish to come back and I wanted to come here anyway, this was the better option."

"I was not selfish for coming here," Jac snapped. "I'm training to be a hero. To make Mom proud."

"She didn't care about that bullshit, Jac," Reene practically shouted. "She just wanted you home. And you abandoned her. And me."

Jac looked down at her feet. "Go home, Reene. You don't belong here. You'll get hurt."

Reene laughed bitterly. "You don't have power over me anymore, Jac. Mom's gone. We're on our own. We're the last of the Marston Legacy. But you know what? I think I'll take a different path than you. I won't run away from it." Then she turned sharply on her heel and marched back into the room, straight up to Axel, without a word. Jac followed silently, took Corbin's hand, and silently led him out into the hallway.

Reene sniffled and looked at Axel. She laughed mirthlessly. "So... about the living situation. What do you think?"

Axel

The red head's attention was grabbed as a woman stepped up and began a speech. She radiated authority, and Axel felt compelled to listen to what she had to say. When she was finished, he looked down to Reene to discuss living circumstances. He had arrived in the city half a week ago and had already read up about DWMA's boarding rules. He preferred to live his own way, therefore had purchased a cheap but homely apartment. It was two bedroom, 1 bathroom, a living area and kitchen- and had already been converted to his particular style of dreary black and leather, and the few gaming systems from home he could afford.

"Oh..."
Axel raised an eyebrow at Reene.
"Y'know, I never actually thought to get an apartment here... so, I'm kinda homeless."Um... if it's not too much of a bother, mind if I stay with you? Or something. I dunno."

"Of course you can crash with me. I have a guest room-"

"Aw, Hell naw! Reene?! What the Hell are you doing here?"

Axel stepped back slightly in surprise as a fiery red-head stalked over. However, when the new girl shook his new partner, he stepped close to Reene and glared at the red-head girl. He shouldered halfway between them, pointedly leading the girls hands off the shorter blonde with his own leather clad fingers.

"I--I'm attending this year! I'm going to school here now!"
"You mean you just up and left Mom behind? What is wrong with you? We need to talk."

The new girl smiled pleasantly at Axel, and a boy who had trailed behind, who Axel assumed was her partner. He was reluctant to let Reene 'talk' with this girl after her initial display of roughness, but by the way she had said 'Mom', Axel figured they were relatives.

"Give us a sec, 'kay?" The red-haired girl proceeded to drag Reene into the hall, in a way that made Axel grind his teeth and stifle a growl. Really? He'd vowed to protect her and she was already being manhandled... womanhandled. He was tempted to stalk out of the hall and make sure she was alright, but, family matters were best kept between the family. Instead he turned to the boy the red-head had come over with.

"I'm Axel, the blonde, Reene's weapon," He said simply, still eyeing the door. "You're girl won't harm her, right?" He turned to glare at the boy through his goggles. "Please say she wont, because honestly, I wont react nicely if she's hurt on our first day."
Axel sighed and ran a hand through his hair, before sticking it out for a handshake, shrugging apologetically. He was concerned about Reene, but, they did seem to be related, and the girl had said she was tougher then she looked. He couldn't help feeling responsible for her like this, but that didn't mean he had to be a jerk to the boy.

"Sorry. I don't like this situation... I hope we can be friends or allies in the future though."

He diverted his attention as he spotted Reene and the red-head walking back in. The petite blonde stopped by his side, whereas the red-head led the boy away. Reene mentioned something about their living situation, but he was otherwise occupied.

"You're not hurt? No injuries?" He scanned her body, looking for any sign of harm. Instead he spotted a familiar sight in her eyes. He'd seen that look on too many people. So she was physically alright, but mentally distraught.

"What did she say to you? Who was she?" His voice softened. "Please don't cry,"

He was never one to like tears. After his sister had died, that was all there ever seemed to be. Tears from his family, tears from the neighbors, tears from students, teachers, even his gang would tear at the sight of him. They all pitied him so- but that didn't warrant their tears. That just made him cry as well, made him weak, unable to protect anyone.
Even when the tears had nothing to do with him, Axel couldn't help but feel helpless when one cried in front of him.

"Look," He tried, stooping slightly to talk more personally with her. "I live pretty close to the school, have a guest room, you can decorate it as you want. Home away from home."

A few of the pairs standing near were watching them after the scene the red haired girl had made. Axel didn't like the attention. He wasn't good at this 'appealing to emotions' stuff. Sure, he was charismatic, and could read most people like a book, but Kendall had jokingly called him a schoomzer on autopilot. He knew the ropes but was essentially a programmed robot. When it came to playing emotions he was dreadfully inadequate.
He considered what his siblings had always liked when they were upset, and offered Reene a small smile.

"I'll get takeout later too!"
He considered mentioning that his apartment housed a few others, that they could perhaps be friends with. Then again, Axel hadn't bothered to meet them, or even see them for that matter. He'd been to busy getting to know the city.

"Let's get your stuff?"
