Azalea Redwood

"All is not lost, you have just misplaced your hope today. I am sure you will find it again."

0 · 484 views · located in The Forever Gaze Mountains

a character in “Wolf Paw: My Mate”, as played by SoulSurviver233

Description

Full name: Azalea Lucille Redwood

Age: 20

Appearance:

Human form:
Image

Hair colour: Light ash blonde with mid brown streaks.

Eye colour: Pale hazel, but it darkens to a hazel-brown on occasion.

In human form Azalea has some lean muscle mass and stands at 5 foot 7 inches tall with a healthy 65 kg of body weight. She usually wears her black leather jacket over everything, she has a wide style...from humorous t-shirts that say 'bite me' to pretty little feminine ones for special occasions. Her feet haven't grown since she was twelve, so she still wears an old scratched up pair of boots wherever she roams. People are so used to it that they offer her their shoes so she can 'walk a mile' in them and keep them because they are much newer than her current pair. She always turns down their offers however.

Wolf Form:

Image

Eye colour: Usually a darker hazel-brown than in her human form

Coat colour: An assortment of browns, from mahogany to pine in hues, as well as cream and a little dark grey mixed in.

Pack: Shadow Moon

Role: Gamma

Favourite colour: The red of the maple leaves in autumn

Personality

Personality:
Azalea is quite a social creature, although some think that she is quite an odd female, as she wants to be playful more often with others, but many do not enjoy her word games and even more often they do not know the right answers to her cheeky riddles. Yet, she has also been desiring to share her life with another werewolf for some time however it hasn't been panning out very well because she seems to act more like a young cub than a mature adult at times. For this reason, she has not socialised with many of the opposite gender in a while, apart from those whom are long standing friends and understand her fun loving nature. If she is caught off guard she is unlikely to lash out unless an open threat is made against her. She takes her job as Gamma very seriously and is fiercely loyal to those whom she respects and her pack. If you make even the idlest of threats about any of her pack, even if they are the Omega...you should quietly say a prayer that she leaves you intact for Athena's annual mate ceremony.

Likes:
+ water
+ bread
+ a varied diet
+ the red autumn leaves of the Maple trees
+ people who play her games
+ playing her old wooden flute
+ order and the pack running smoothly

Dislikes:
- crowds
- people who don't play her games
- cockroaches
- alcohol
- assumed pre-conceptions of what kind of person she is

Fears:
- lightening/storms/thunder

History

History:

Azalea was born into the pack after a long hard winter in Northern Canada, and many pups did not survive. The first thing she saw was her mother's face...the first thing she remembered wishing for, was to be able to see the autumn garb of her home. She did see it, and the Maple tree was the most stunning of all the deciduous trees. She imagined that one day, she'd fall in love with a wolf that had fur with those colours...but her mother explained that those were not natural colours in a wold, so she agreed that she would settle for a wolf that had at least an orange-ish colour on him.

She grew and climbed up to the rank of Gamma, enjoying it...she was like a quartermaster for a big boy scout group. Making sure there was enough food, water, shelter....all of the more domestic things whilst the Betas and the Alphas took care of the more pressing matters. But now it is mating season, and she is travelling to the very place in which werewolves meet, fall in love and stay in love. She has started to wonder if she will find her mate this year, for all other years she was too far away to journey there in time for the sacred event.

So begins...

Azalea had chosen to leave without breakfast...and through the backdoor of the Shadow Moon house. She had heard all the kerfuffle between the Alpha and the Beta and had decided against making the situation any more volatile than it had been. She yawned and stretched for a moment before deciding that today was one of the days she would prefer to spend in her wolf form. She took a running leap and shifted in mid air, landing as a wolf with browns, cream and grey all over its body. She shook herself roughly before taking off at a run in the direction of a stream that was close to the boarder between the two pack territories.

Her hazel-brown eyes scanning the area and her nose constantly scenting to see if there was anyone else. Her pace slowed as she smelt blood, urine and...wolf. It wasn't a wolf she knew, so she kept on her side of the river. Azalea began to slink cautiously through the trees, licking her maw for a moment and then flicking her ears forwards. Her wolf form wasn't the largest around, but she was built for speed and stealth...so if the other gave chase, she would be swiftly hightailing it out of there. But for now, her thirst kicked in and she went down to the stream to drink. She got one good slurp in before she realised that the unknown wolf was still around. 'Oh great...just my luck of the draw...well, I shall be sorely vexed if this wolf ends me before I attend the ceremony tonight.' She thought before she drank more swiftly and then backed away from the stream, sitting firmly in her pack's territory. She let out a yip, it echoed through the trees for a moment and she was given a chance to wonder if they'd play a word game with her...before she thought that she'd heard a reply.

Shaun's ears flicked back as he heard a yip. Grumbling he stood up and, sniffed around smelling a wolf that was not of his pack he walked back to where the scent was. He saw a small wolf, that looked a bit like him in wolf form. He gave a bark, as his tail wagged, much like a dogs.

A howl was heard in the distance, and he gave a louder, much more stronger howl. He was glad that someone from his pack was doing alright. He sat there and waited for her to yip or bark back. He leaned down and took a drink, his eyes trained on her.

Dylan took off into the bush. Jumping over lifted roots and swiftly making her way to her Alpha. She smelt the river, its cool, fresh scent made her feel thirsty and she picked up the pace until she saw her Alpha. He stood proudly and large.

She walked until she stood beside him and saw a young female wolf on the other side of the river.
'is she from the shadow moon pack Alpha?' Dylan asked threw the packs mind link

Azalea turned her head towards the sounds of movement and she settled down on her haunches again as his tail wagged and she licked her maw again. His tail was high....she'd seen it, he was the Alpha of another pack. His louder howl just confirmed this for her. She stood up on all fours and stretched again before going a little downstream and rolling in the cold water for a moment. That would have to do in terms of a shower until she returned to the house. She stepped out of the water and shook herself, sending water spraying everywhere. She then spotted another wolf, it was white, must be another of the other pack. No matter, she was only here for a game and recently her pack had seemed a little fed up with her antics...so she thought she deserved a little play time.

Her playful side showed a little as she lowered her chest to the floor and raised her hind quarters. She was not so prejudiced as to not want to play with another wolf...just because they were in the wrong pack. Her tail waved for a moment before she winked at him and barked back, before sprinting off along the bank of the stream on her side. Her bark could have been roughly translated into a challenge of chasings...or hide and go seek, whichever the other translated it as. Her paws flashed underneath her as she sent pebbles and rounded stones skittering into the stream, creating little pattering sounds. She was content to just...exist. The other wolf was not aggressive or threatening at the moment, so she had no qualms with him...but if he did, she was out of there, quick as a goblin's sneeze.

Dylan watched the other female as she seemed to get playful.
Excitment coursed threw Dylan at the thought of playing. She hadnt done it in some time, but the female seemed to be directing her playfulness at her Alpha. Dylan didnt think about her next actions a she playfully lunged at the she-wolf, wagging her tail and whimpering
'i want to play to' she barked

Azalea slowed to a stop and turned back, coming back to the two other wolves. She looked right at the other female, yipped and wagged her tail. She nodded to the way she'd been heading before she flicked her ears forward, seeing if they were both going to play.

"Well...maybe we can play tonight, before the ceremony? It's in neutral territory." Azalea replied gently and wagged her tail a little, trying to cheer the other female up. "I suppose I could try and put a whisker over your side...if your Alpha won't attack me." She offered with what was likely to be a wolf-laugh.

Dylan wagged her tail, the proposal of playing was getting her excited. She took a big whiff of air trying to calm down then smell of the water and the trees making her feel peaceful once again. She looked up to her Alpha, giving him big pleading eyes
'can she please Alpha?' Dylan questioned, pleading him to let her come over even for a shirt while. Dylan whimpered and bowed down, laying on her belly waiting for her Alpha to answer

'How dare she speak to me like that, like i am HER beta, her grandfather am have been Alpha until my father challenged him for the land so his pack could get more territory, but her grandfather and his pack lost giving my family claim of this land, she is lucky i even made her my Beta' Luke growled and ran faster. His long black legs carrying him towards the stream that ended his territory and went into someone elses.

He was now close enough to smell the river. He also caught the scent of his beta and gamma plus to unknown wolves.
He saw the back of his gamma and walked over to her, domanance in his stance as he saw two other wolves on the other side.

One looked to be another alpha and the other one....
was beautiful

Her pure white fur glistened with water coming from the river, her tail wagging playfully as she lay on her belly and her silver eyes held amusement. A strange urge to go and play with her coursed threw Luke but he ignored it as he stood beside his gamma, now fully in the view of the other alpha

A pleasurable shiver ran threw Dylan as she saw a huge pure black wolf step beside the female. He seemed to have an aura of power around him that only a powerful Alpha would have. She whimpered and stood by her Alpha incase anything were to happen.

'but why do i feel if we were to fight i would defend him?'

When both Alphas gave the all clear, Azalea gave a joyous yip before watching the white wolf and her own leader run off. She turned her head to face the male, and gave him as cheeky a smile as she could in her current form.
"You are so kind as to let me have a chance to play today. Would you like to play chasings with me?" She asked before boldly stepping over onto his side of the boarder, her tail in the position that one would expect a Gamma to have. She ventured so close that he would have been able to see the diamond shaped smudge between her eyes, right at the base of her muzzle. being built for speed rather than brute force would work in her favour today....or so she hoped.
"Come and get me...if you can~!" The mottled femme flicked her tail over his nose for a moment before sprinting away across the stream and back into her comfort zone, hopefully with that strong and handsome-...ah...with the non-enemy male in tow.

Azalea smelt the white female, her alpha and her beta on her side of the border and she leaped once showily before keeping her pace up. She turned her head to see if he was following and she realised that he was being a little hesitant. She looked back in front of her and made a surprised noise when moments later he went sailing over her and almost rolled into a tree.
"Oh my goodness, are you alright?" She asked, stopping short and then trotting towards him as he stood up and shook himself off.

She stopped short again as he ran towards her and she doubled back, heading for his territory instead, so he had more of a chance of catching up and such, besides...she had always been curious about how the other side lived. Her tongue flopped out the side of her mouth and she looked at him for a moment, her brown-hazel eyes searching for something before she blinked and she turned back. She trotted away until she reached the stream and took a little bit more of a drink before splashing through it. However, her stomach chose this time to growl at her and she sighed, stretching slightly for a moment before she sat just inside his scent markers.

"They will not harm her, if you do not harm me...this is a peaceful play session...but on a more serious note, should I be wary of any places in your territory today?" She said, staring at him again for a moment before looking down as her stomach demanded something more than water for sustenance. Her tail wagged from side to side as she smelt his scent more thoroughly, it was a scent that was so vague...but she knew it so well. It only came around once a year or so, something to do with autumn? She shrugged it off before flicking her ears toward him and getting up. "You know....you'd think that my Alpha would be tired of his Gamma trying to find playmates, he had as of recently. On that note, I should introduce myself. My name is Azalea Redwood, what about you?" She licked her nose once as she waited for his reply, her tail still wagging.

Shaun chased her feeling much more confidant in his territory, he knew where everything was. He clawed a tree near the stream on his territory. Looking down at her he gave a wolfy smile, "I am fine.. never better... I needed a good tumble actually." He barked, his ears flicked as he heard her stomach grumble, he trotted over to the buried hare and dug it up.

"If ya's don't mind leftovers... here's some of mine." He thought to her once more as he dropped it by her feet. Sniffing around he rolled his shoulders, "Just stay away from my cave...unless...I invite you there." He smirked as an Amber eye rolled over on her and in a cheeky tone he added, "I only invite the ladies I wanna impress and mate with." He snorted and laid down stretching out happily.

Sniffing her he found she kinda smelled like the pine trees after it rained. "Call me Shaun... Shaun Blackheart." He said standing up, placing a paw over his torso as he did an impression of a bow. He was Alpha, but he did have manners.

She returned the wolfish smile and a slight giggle passed through her mind link, straight to his.
"You need a good tumble in the morning?" She teased before he went over and dug up something and then laid it at her paws.
"Haha, all I get are left overs once I come back to the house for food. I'm always out somewhere checking our food stores." She replied before she laughed at his cave comment through her tenuous link to her. She wasted no preamble in eating the remains of the hare and once done, she licked her maw before responding to his slight teasing.

"I don't think my Alpha would allow his Gamma to do anything with you, however I wonder how many females I would smell if I went there with you." She replied smoothly, her human voice coming through now. It was gentle, and lilted slightly with her speech pattern, as though she had learned a prior language before English. "I guess I'm not impressive enough for your tastes my good sir, although...being a little lighter on my feet, means you have more of a game on your hands, rather than in your cave." She teased him before he laid down and stretched out quite happily.

She caught him sniffing her and she grinned a little.
"Well Shaun...would you like to see my other form? Because I'm sure I'll be able to play hide and seek better if I can climb trees and such....don't you agree?" She said lightly, batting at his ear with one of her paws in an acknowledgement of his bow. "And who knows...maybe I'll figure out why you seem to think you're the hottest thing around here if you shift back too..." She said before looking at him sidelong from the corner of her eye.

He agreed to shift and she nodded as he mentioned that he was a virgin.
"Not to worry, I'm sure everyone is waiting for their mate. I am too." Azalea replied before she sat up a little and watched him transform from wolf, to man. A very deliciously hot man, and she hadn't been a fanatic about piercings, but on him they were perfect. Her eyes darkened for a moment as he crossed his arms and smirked, leaning against a tree.

"I'm sure others could give you a run for your money in that category." She teased lightly before she stood on all fours and shifted in a matter of moments, she was very good at it you see, going from one form to the other. Her fur retreated and her muzzle changed back to human features, paws to hands and then her tail grew smaller and smaller, being reduced to a tailbone. She looked almost like a pixie, her features fine and gentle, her light blonde and brown hair gleaming a little as she stood up. Her eyes were a lot lighter this time however, almost a gold-hazel. She stood at 5'6", dark jeans and a non contracted band tee with a dark leather bomber jacket.

Her hair almost blocked out one of her eyes from sight, so she tucked the offending locks away from her face.
"Now...still think that you're the prettiest thing on this side of the earth?" She asked with a laugh, before winking at him.
"So, who hides first?" She questioned, tilting her head to one side with a soft smile curving her pink lips upwards.

The moment Shaun left, she did too, immediately shifting and rocketing through the forest, leaping over the stream. She came to a stop in a spray of dirt and ground cover as she surveyed the scene. The white wolf, although now healed, still had blood stains on her neck and Azalea's ears drooped a little. She'd taken this chance, forgetting all about the more volatile members of her pack...she stared at the two young wolves for a moment and sighed.
"I take full responsibility for this, I wanted to play, so I shall take their punishment, whatever it shall be. But girls, this is not out of kindness that I say this, nor foolishness. And to both Alphas, they are young...rather as I should have definitely known better. Forgive me." She said before laying down and rolling onto her back.

"Are you alright my dear?" She whined out at the white wolf, turning her head to see how the other female was doing. She saw her bonding well with the Beta and the Alpha. After thinking that she had been showing her belly for a long enough time, she got up and went to the white wolf, licking the blood off of her fur. She felt it was the least she could do.
'You shouldn't have had to be keeping an eye out for them...I am sorry that this has happened.' She whispered into the white female's ear before she moved away a little to give everyone room to check on both the white wolf and the two wolf sisters.

Dylan cuddled into the two wolves that surrounded her. Feelings of warmth circled threw her body and she loved it. She whimpered when the cream colored wolf moved away.
'please stay' she whimpered, she didn't care if she was acting childish, she haven't felt like this since her parents died. The two wolves that attacked her crawled over on their bellies joining the little circle of warmth they all had created.
'we are so sorry' they whimpered at the same time.

'its alright no physical harm' Dylan said calmly. Though there was no longer any physical harm she still felt torn inside at the thought of her parents. She hadn't thought of them in years.

The only time she had ever talked about them after they died was when she became so depressed her Alpha got worried. Thats when he pulled her into his office and helped her with the pain. She have done anything in her power from that day forth to please her Alpha. Even now as he stood protectively watching she left like a little sister to him. The warm feeling spread at the thought and without realizing in she fell asleep welcoming the comfort it now brought her.

He snarled and sat down, he didn't know why this young wolf would take their punishment. He looked over at Dylan and sighed, I told you to be careful! His tone was full of supressed anger, but mostly concern for her. Standing up he walked over and nuzzled her. Everything will be allright... Do you want to go home? He looked back at Azalea and shook his head, I do not wish to punish you... but... it is up to your Alpha who gets punished and how they get punished. He paused and motioned around with his face. I am not in my territory. I will respect his role as Alpha. He gave the black furred wolf a firm nod. He stood back up and gave another snarl to the twin wolves. He sat down and watched everyone else. He would not leave until someone got punished for harming one of his pack, even if he had to harm someone himself. Which wolf made the attack? He asked firmly.

When Dylan shot up out of her spot between Azalea's Alpha and Beta, the mottled femme moved and sat right in front of Dylan. With all the growling and snarling, it was giving her a bit of a head ache. She stared right at Shaun, and held the stare...she knew she shouldn't have, but she was determined that if anyone had to take the fall for something, it would be her.

"There doesn't have to be pain. Just no more playing for a long looooong time. Everybody wins, no blood being spilled, no noses out of joint and we all go our separate ways for a bit. Brute force is not always the answer, and I will protect these girls to the death." Her voice only quavered when she barked out the word death, She meant no disrespect, but the more she stared, the more she knew that she could very well die here. Look away....do it! A voice in the back of her head whispered, and she pushed it away, blocking it right out as she continued her staring at Shaun.

(ooc: Okay...seriously Hayden? No acknowledgement of Azalea and her actions...at all? this has happened like....3 or 4 times now and it's not cool, I mean...she's not even getting grizzled at for staring at Shaun?)

Azalea snorted as her Alpha preached at them, still staring at Shaun before she sneezed and had to look away. His words washed over them and she sighed as he said the two girls would be punished later.
"The two girls won't be happy when they go to see their mate, with any sort of punishment hanging over both of their heads." She grumbled in her mind, unknowingly also grumbling it aloud as she stared at the forest floor. It was times like these that she hated her Alpha, so much arrogance and confidence in such a young man. He was short sighted, couldn't he see that the girls would likely be imagining what their punishments would be, even through the mating ceremony? It would likely cause them to be in a fearful mood, and any mood other than a joyous one, was not something that Azalea stood for.

(ooc: It's all good :) )

Azalea smiled at Ember before trotting over to her and nuzzling the brown wolf gratefully. Up until now she'd felt that she hadn't really had a voice in the pack, but she'd been heard by at least one other whom agreed with her.
"You know...I reckon I should have been a massage therapist, to get rid of everyone's pesky pains." She said in a half serious tone before she jumped as the Alpha spoke to her through the mind link.

'I know, I know...you Alphas get to have alllll the fun, staring at each other and all. Please don't kill him, there's something, like a tenuous sort of feeling. Like you and the white wolf I guess, and she really is a sweetie.' Her slightly teasing reply came straight back to him and she shook herself a little before he addressed the rest of the pack. She made a relieved noise and then nuzzled him back lightly before she watched him do it to all the others.
"Careful...or people might think your pack is a harem." She yipped with a laugh before padding over to Shaun, her tail swaying from side to side before she stopped right beside him.

She gave him a wolfish grin as he began to trot off and Azalea followed him to the creek.
"Why don't we play a game of your choice, as a sort of....consolation prize?" She barked gently, sitting beside him as he laid down and she leaned down to nip his ear playfully. She went from serious to playful in a refreshingly short amount of time, she was a wolf that was young at heart, but had the wisdom of a few added years. "So...haven't found your mate yet ? I haven't either...I was always hurrying to get back in time in past years, and missed it by at least a few days. So this year, if I still don't have a mate, I'll just stay up north until death I reckon." Azalea knew that she was over sharing, but there as still that tenuous connection...like the Japanese peoples notion of a red string of fate. It was real and it sure as goodness was real.

When the white wolf came over to her and wagged her tail, wanting to play tag, she laughed a little and nodded her head.
"Looks like Dylan made our decision for us Shaun. Nice to meet you Dylan, my name is Azalea Redwood." She said with a wolf-smile and she wagged her tail, standing up so she could hear the rest of what would be going on with the game of tag.
"Oh no, we have 15 seconds! Up, up! We gotta run!" She nudged Shaun's rump with her nose and then skittered away with 12 seconds to go...straight into Shaun's territory.

Azalea followed the other two and noted the amount of autumn leaves on the forest floor. She stopped for a moment as they came to a small clearing, she spotted an old badger warren just peeking out from under an old maple tree just outside the circle of trees where the others were intent on hiding. She rolled in a dark patch of mud and then dived into the warren, a breath of wind conveniently pushing leaf litter up and into the mouth of the warren, hiding it from view. She laid down in the cramped space and waited, not long to go now. But as she started to feel confident that she was not going to be tagged....she heard the familiar sounds of a badger returning through its tunnels.
Sh-Shaun...badger...and I'm practically in its living room! She thought to him hurriedly, fear making her flatten herself as much as possible. Badgers could kill an unwary wolf, and she had been silly enough to not check how old the scents were...but there just hadn't been enough time.

Azalea grumbled a little through her tenuous link to his mind as he gently grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and pulled her out of the hole.
I had 5 seconds to hide....what did you expect me to do? Hide behind you? I think not! Though I am grateful for the rescue. She replied before he pointed his snout to the real old badger's hole and she poked her tongue out at him as he lounged in a tree. She backed into the hole this time and her backwards movements caused leaves and such to build up and block the entrance from sight and mute her scent trail a little. You know I could have jumped up into a tree, but my climbing skills are horrid in this form. She added before flattening herself down and lying in wait for the plan to be set into motion. Hey Shaun...I usually don't like blokes with piercings, but you ain't too bad. She told him through the mind link, closing her eyes to listen to the sounds of the forest. The cool earth beneath her, the magnificent tree above her....she felt completely at home here, despite being in someone else's territory.

Azalea awoke with a bewildered snuffle as she realised she wasn't at the pack house. She was in the dark...and underground, she could smell the damp earth and rotting leaves that had come into the hole before her. She scrambled out and found herself alone, but shook the clods of dirt from her fur before putting her nose to the ground and starting to track the others.

She wasn't sure what had happened or where they'd gone, but she was intending to find out for sure. The mottled femme slowly made her way deeper into the other pack's territory, assuming that she was still allowed to be there. She eventually found Shaun's familiar scent and went from there onwards, so intent on finding him that she didn't realise she was walking into a tense situation. Her hazel brown eyes rooted to the ground just before she bumped right into the wolf that she was tracking, freezing on the spot for a moment before she sat and looked around.
"I apologise for falling asleep....what happened?" She asked through her slowly strengthening link to Shaun.
