personality

xxxSome things were meant to be broken...Imperfect. Chaotic. It was the universe’s way of providing contrast. There had to be a few holes in the road. It's how life was, and this was very much true for people as well. Coren Somerhalder was such a being. He was a faux braggart, a loser wolf, and a charming bit of hard luck bred in a pit in Seattle.

history

xxxTrauma was not what had happened to people, but what they held inside in the absence of an empathetic witness. Before this point in our story, time had been a wave, almost cruel in it's relentlessness as it whisked Coren's life downstream, a life which he had had to constantly strain to keep from breaking apart. It wasn't until Lauren Silverstein had inadvertently shown him the light, plucked him from the river and plopped him onto dry land did he understand what it meant to do more than just tread water. He was free of Adam's control, free to find himself and that's what he did. He discovered who he was outside of all the horrible nasty things his father had done to him, outside of the manipulations Adam had woven for him to fit into, outside of his role of an outcast among those who should have been friends; and the result was this. Most people carried their pain around inside them their whole lives, until they killed the pain by other means or it killed them. But Coren, he had found another way; a way to use the pain. To burn it as fuel, for light and warmth. He had learnt to break the world that had tried to break him...finally. All he ever wanted was for everything to be okay. He didn't even wish so much for fantastic or marvelous or outstanding...He would happily settle for just okay, because most of the time, okay was enough. He was slowly figuring out how to be okay.

So begins...
