Things seemed calm these last few days, Maelthra was rather kind, not sarcastic or violent, at least not in her presence, and it seems like they'd come to an unspoken agreement that hostilites between them would cease. Not only that, they'd gotten to know one another. He told her more about his time before the Shadow King's possession, when he was just a boy, bed ridden, much like she had been. She understood him, and his motivations a little better now. They weren't friends, by any means, but they weren't entirey enemies anymore either and the more she spoke to hij, got to know him and he her, the more blurred the line between them it had become.

"I warn you, Princess," Narissa was saying as she brushed her hair. "I don't know about him, he may be kind now but he is still your enemy," She told her and Clara nodded. "Yes. I know that but he's not the brute I thought him to be." She said softly. "I won't forget what he's done, nor forgive him for them, but he saved me, he didn't have to, he could have laughed while I suffered, which is honestly, what I expected. He could have even since someone for you but no, he took it upon himself to save me," She looked up at her and Narissa'a blue eyes looked dubious. "That means something." She said and Narissa sighed, letting a long of raven hair fall. "Yes, You're Grace but it could all be a rouse for what I don't know I don't trust him." She said and Clara nodded, takinf her hand. "Neither do I, I just believe there is more to him then some sadist." She said and they exited the room.

They made their way to the throne room where Maelthra stood, chuckling as he waved away a sigil that seemed to be floating in midair. Clara frowned. She knew that laugh. He was up to something. “Good Morrow Clara, Narissa. How are you this fine morning?” He said and she narrowed her eyes further. "Fine, What are you up to?" She said and heard a commotion coming from outside the tower. She hurried to the balconey and saw a dark elf dunking a man into a fountain. "What is this!?" She shrieked. "You there, That is enough!" She called to the dark elf befoee turning to the Shadow King. She was beyond angry but a small part of her was disappointed. Just when she defended him, he goes and does this. "You promised no harm would come to them," She spat, hurt playing behind her eyes as she glared up at him before she dashed out of the room, down the hall and outside.

She had to stop, to catch her breath but when she did, she approached the dark elf who backed away knowing no harm was to come to the Princess. She helped the handsome yet sopping wet man to the ground, and kneeled beside him. "By the Gods," She said, as the dark haired man spat out water. "Are you alright?" She asked him, glaring up at the tower. Ooh she would have quite a few words with the Shadow King...She brushed black hair from his face to see it red and flushed. "Did he hurt you?"

“B-but....he’s Valsirian. Oh well she’ll find out on her own. Besides, he’s not gonna let harmless dunking slow him down.” Maelthra said, ignoring Narissa’s presence as he felt that he took two steps forward, then one step back. That annoyed him a tad bit. “First time encountering one of his descendants and he’s already winning. Even the princess saw his light. He thought bitterly.

——

Robin sputtered As his dunking was ceased. “My sober wash is done already?” He asked before getting helped out by a Good Samaritan. ”By the gods.” He spat out water and gave a hair filled glare out towards the castle. “That prank wasn’t nice Maelthra!” He felt his hair getting brushed out of his face, it was for the first time he noticed the woman, and she seemed to be one of the most beautiful things he ever saw.

”Are you alright? Did he hurt you?”

“The only thing that’s hurt Madame is my Pride as a Valsirian warrior, to fall for the oldest prank in the unseelie book.” He said, trying to rub his face dry only to make it even wetter. He groaned in frustration. “Lesson learned though...Maelthra knows I’m here and I need a better plan to get into the castle then just rushing in.”

He sighed, took a deep breath, sneezed, then raised his hand to her. “Robin Azura, at your service. Perhaps you can point me to an inn or something to dry off in?”

The only thing that’s hurt Madame is my Pride as a Valsirian warrior, to fall for the oldest prank in the unseelie book.” The man said, trying vainly to wipe his face dry. Clara clicked her teeth. “Lesson learned though...Maelthra knows I’m here and I need a better plan to get into the castle then just rushing in.” He said and Clara frowned. He was after Maelthra, why? Who was he and was why he after him, or better question, what did Maelthra do to him or his people, which was more likely.

He sighed and sneezed before offering her his hand. “Robin Azura, at your service. Perhaps you can point me to an inn or something to dry off in?” He said and Clara was struck for a moment as she watched the man's face. "Azura?" She said. Where had she heard that name before.

I’m asking about one House in particular. House Azura perchance?"

Clara looked at him a long moment before she helped him to his feet. "You can come to the castle and dry off, I'll have something warm and dry prepared for you." She said with a grin. "I am Princess Clara Allyrion," She said with a nod. " and I think you can help me." She said and glared daggers at the dark elf before taking the man's hand and half dragging him into the castle. "Narissa," She called and Narissa made a quick appearance. "Find him something warm." She said, appraising Robin Azura, but she had to admit that she let her eyes linger a little longer than needed.

Even while soaked to the bone, he was quite handsome, and while Maelthra too had dark hair and pale skin, Robin had black eyes that where as kind as Maelthra's grey eyes were haunted. "I believe we have something in his size and find him a room, something close." She said and Narissa nodded in understanding, she meant close to hers, but only a matter of protection. "Will that do, Sir Azura?" She asked. " Or should I say, Lord," She asked him. "Does your family still hold power?" She asked, uncaring if Maelthra was around or not.

Maelthra was in the hallway but hid himself around the corner so he could hear the conversation.

”Narissa, find him something warm. I believe we have something in his size and find him a room, something close.” Maelthra bristled at this statement whilst Robin was still reeling from the shock of meeting the actual princess.

”Curse you Cain,” The thoughts in Maelthra’s Head wasn’t his own, but of the Elder Maelthra, showing his anger towards him. ”Give me one good reason to not-“

”Will that do Sir Azura? Or should I say Lord? Does your family still hold power?”

“Sir? Lord? I’m merely just a- Oh. You’re asking about my lineage.” He said with a small chuckle. “I’m afraid I’m quite possibly the last. According to my master, we did something in one of the Civil Wars Of Valsir, whether it was playing both sides or some other thing I don’t know. Almost all completely wiped out if My Master didn’t Spirit me away on the eve of whatever it was.”

Robin shrugged his shoulders. “So there you have it. Not a Lord, definitely not a Sir. Just plain Robin Azura, at your service.”

——

Maelthra was frozen in place at what he heard, whether it was the Elder or the Younger in control of the body none could say as he clenched his fist in what seemed to be a mixture of emotions, as small tears fell out of his eyes before turning and teleporting to the library.

“Four hundred years of happiness... and then fate gives his family Misery, and pain. Cain wanted better! Why?! Why did this happen!?” He sat in the chair and knocked down several books in his frustration. He covered his face with his hands and remained in this position.

Not a Lord, definitely not a Sir. Just plain Robin Azura, at your service. He said and at that moment, Clara could hear a crashing coming from the library. She rolled her eyes. He was in a mood.

"Well, Plain Robin Azura, Welcome to my home," She said with a genuine smile before it faded. "We've just been occupied by the Shadow King, so you're timing is either very fortuitous or very unfortunate." She said and gestured. "Stay as long as you can stomach." She said and sighed. "I have to placate the King." She said and with that she made her to the library, and arched her eyebrows at the books on the floor. "What is the matter with you?" She asked him curtly. "What did these books, that boy, ever do to you?" She said and then held up a hand. "No, What did you do that that boy's family to cause him to seek you out," She said folding her arms over her bodice.

(sorry this is so short)

”Well, Plain Robin Azura, Welcome to my home, We've just been occupied by the Shadow King, so you're timing is either very fortuitous or very unfortunate."

Robin smirked. “Knowing me, and my family history, it could easily be both.” He said with a chuckle.

”Stay as long as you can stomach. I have to placate the King." she left him as he nodded. “I’ll make myself at home. As well as find a way to lay him back for his prank.” With that he waited to be escorted to his room.

——

”What is the matter with you?" Maelthra looked through his fingers at Clara. What did these books, that boy, ever do to you?” before he spoke, she raised his hand again. ”No, what did you do to that boy’s family to cause him to seek you out.”

He chuckled ruefully. “I was only a child during the events in question so I did nothing to him. But to Him, The Azura Clan means a lot of things.” He heaved a sigh before he continued, “You probably heard the tale, a Foe fells The Shadow King. That Foe was one Cain Azura. It’s either he was trained to combat me as per Destiny, to the death if worse comes to worst. Or he’s doing it to try and get some recognition to his name back, as well as work to restoring his clan.“

He dropped his hands from his face, “But it’s a lot more personal to Him then that, which makes it more personal to me. That is a story for another day. Fighting him now would be unsatisfying, and his novice approach was...well, novice.”

He looked down, rubbing his hands against his face to hide and wipe the small tear streaks from his face. “You have your answer Clara. Satisfied?” He asked, feeling slightly bitter about the whole morning now in particular.

(Its Alright. That can happen to even me. :3)

Maelthra was an engima, wrapped in a riddle. Was he happy about this, or sad, did he want to die, didn't he? What in the name of the Gods was his motivations. She had no idea. “I was only a child during the events in question so I did nothing to him. But to Him, The Azura Clan means a lot of things.” He sighed and he looked genuinely sad. “You probably heard the tale, a Foe fells The Shadow King. That Foe was one Cain Azura. It’s either he was trained to combat me as per Destiny, to the death if worse comes to worst. Or he’s doing it to try and get some recognition to his name back, as well as work to restoring his clan.“ He dropped his hands and his face looked as though he'd been crying. What in the frozen hell was going on?
“But it’s a lot more personal to Him then that, which makes it more personal to me. That is a story for another day. Fighting him now would be unsatisfying, and his novice approach was...well, novice.” He said and she arched an eyebrow. “You have your answer Clara. Satisfied?"

"It's Princess Clara, and no, not even slightly." She said and gestured for him to sit. She took a seat across from him. "So, This man, Cain Azura is or was Maelthra the first's enemy, the man that brought him down, Robin is his direct descendant but through hard times his families' name has come to ruin," She said and realized that he'd been listening to her conversation with Robin. "Making Robin a little more then inept in regards to battling you now?" She asked and frowned, this was all very confusing. "Why is this a bad thing?" She asked. "You talk as though Cain means something more to you then an enemy, you seem as if he was a friend," She said, leaning against the arm of the chair.
Image

"I don't understand why you are so upset, I mean, if you're enemy is a fool, then that's a good thing, that means he won't be your enemy for much longer." She said and couldn't believe she was having this conversation with her enemy. "What is the problem?"

”It’s Princess Clara and no, not even slightly.” she then took a seat across from him. ”So, This man, Cain Azura is or was Maelthra the first's enemy, the man that brought him down, Robin is his direct descendant but through hard times his families' name has come to ruin, Making Robin a little more then inept in regards to battling you now?"

“Yes, and yes and yes.” He responded. He didn’t want to tell her the full truth, or rather, the Elder Maelthra was trying to make him not tell her.

”Why is this a bad thing? You talk as though Cain means something more to you then an enemy, you seem as if he was a friend." she leaned on an arm of the chair and he heaved a sigh. Gods, this woman was relentless, beautiful, and to the point. He began making the means to not have anyone listening in through the door. “Even enemies can be good friends at one point.” He retorted.

”I don't understand why you are so upset, I mean, if you're enemy is a fool, then that's a good thing, that means he won't be your enemy for much longer. What is the problem?”

“The problem? Everything! I wanted a fair fight, and fate seems to want to make the odds uneven. Do You really want the truth? You won’t like what you hear.” He waited for a response before continuing. “Fine. You know the name Maelthra, but that was the Elven name the Elves gave him at birth. His brother also had an Elven name. Azrael.” He ensured the enchantment on the door was on before he heaved a sigh.

“Lucien Azura was Maelthra the first’s full, proper human name. You’ll never guess what my name was.”

He looked down. “There. That is the hidden truth of the First Shadow King’s Tale. You must Never tell Azura of this. He must find out himself. I was going to tell you, once I knew you were my friend... but I guess our new arrival disrupted that chain of planning. I don’t even know what I am to you, Princess. Your captor? A monster? Something other then a man certainly.” He felt so naked now, in telling her this sacred secret. He rubbed his head in a tired way.

“I wanted to feel human, just for a little while...” he said quietly.

——

Robin was exploring his room a bit, trying to plan out an escape if Maelthra decided to try and kill him. He was wearing pants, exposing several scars and his physique of is torso. “I’m in the Empire, and I’ve no plan to fight Maelthra. The princess has been helpful but she’s as much a prisoner as I probably am... Master, what do I do now?” He asked himself as he sat on a chair by the fire. He stroked his beard in thought.

The problem? Everything! I wanted a fair fight, and fate seems to want to make the odds uneven. Do You really want the truth? You won’t like what you hear.” He bellowed and Clara just looked at him. "Tell me, I don't like what I am hearing now, what difference does it make?" She said plainly.
“Fine. You know the name Maelthra, but that was the Elven name the Elves gave him at birth. His brother also had an Elven name. Azrael.” He said before turning his attention to the door, and with a bright glow of his eyes, he went on with a sigh.

“Lucien Azura was Maelthra the first’s full, proper human name. You’ll never guess what my name was.” He said and looked down. Clara blinked as what he said sank in. Her brow shot to her head.
She knew his name.
A monster? Something other then a man certainly.” He said and against she blinked, why had that suddenly been his response. A friend? To her? Why in the frozen hell would he want that?

“I wanted to feel human, just for a little while...” He said softly, so softly she barely heard it. Clara understood then. He was confusing because he himself was confused and now she understood why. She stood and knelled before him. "Cain wasn't your enemy, was he?" She asked him softly. "He was You, before Maelthra's curse, Cain Azura was your name and Robin Azura is your descendant. "

It made sense now, why he was hurt to hear that his family, his mortal family had fallen to ruin and that his descendant in his eyes was a fool. He wanted a fair fight because he wanted to be defeated by one of his own. Maelthra was a curse on his soul, and he had been doing his bidding but it wasn't something he seemed to want to do...not anymore atleast. It was the mortal that wanted to befriend her and the monster that threatened her. He was truly in a battle for dominance of his own soul.

”Cain wasn't your enemy, was he?" Maelthra looked up at her in confusion, yet slight acknowledgement. ”He was You, before Maelthra's curse, Cain Azura was your name and Robin Azura is your descendant."

“That, is the first of two truths Clara.” Maelthra said, as his eyes started to turn a darker brown, his voice took on a world weary tone, as if the voice wasn’t The Shadow King’s at all, but an older wiser man. A brief image flashed to show the spirit of said older man within the younger male.

This was Cain Azura, known to the elves as Azrael Gryphon Rider, the First Lord of the Noble House of Valsir, House Azura. “Your insight serves you well Princess. For this, you have given me enough control to speak to you for a short time.” He said, before pausing to let her respond before continuing. “Lucien never forgave me for defeating him, ruining his ambition. I promised our Elven Mother who raised us to never hate him for what he became. But he made no such promise for me.”

“Upon my death years after his defeat, he prevented my spirit from going into the afterlife, melding our souls into one for a plan of his own reincarnation.” He continued before sighing, heavy, as if filled with regret. “The second truth is the more complicated step in this, concerning Lucien’s illegitimate bloodline, created in a fervered bout of womanizing. He wanted a strong body of his own bloodline to return into. Thus there is not one, but two affected by his Curse. An innocent that had nothing to do with either of us. This body is that of Lucien’s own descendant, a Boy by the name of Galen.”

Cain gripped his hands in small anger. “He is the one who needs freedom of the curse more then I ever will. If there was a way, I’d be able to drag Lucien with me, but at this point I fear for young Galen’s life if The Curse is broken. I had hoped one of my descendants would do so, but the news of the decimation of my house, has struck a blow to me, one that has me questioning why fate robbed the happiness and peace I won for my home so long ago.”

He sighed looking down in sadness. “Robin, Galen, and you are my last hope it seems. Forgive me if I ask too much of you when I say, I need your help Clara, for many reasons.”

Clara was taken aback by the sudden appearance on the older man, the true Cain Azura. “Your insight serves you well Princess. For this, you have given me enough control to speak to you for a short time.” He said and then told her his story, “Lucien never forgave me for defeating him, ruining his ambition. I promised our Elven Mother who raised us to never hate him for what he became. But he made no such promise for me.”

she listened to his tale with a heavy heart. Galen was the face that the souls, three it seems, wore. Her heart broke for him.

“Robin, Galen, and you are my last hope it seems. Forgive me if I ask too much of you when I say, I need your help Clara, for many reasons.” Clara was again taken aback. She nodded quickly. "Yes, Of course, whatever it is, if it's within my power I will you and Galen and Robin," She said but hadn't the slightest idea how. She had no magick, she barely surivied her owm birth, what was it that she could do she didn't know but she was will8ng to try. Galen was a prisoner to the Shadow King as much if not more so then she was. "Tell me what I need to do,"

”Yes, Of course, whatever it is, if it's within my power I will you and Galen and Robin. Tell me what I need to do.” Cain smiled a gentle smile.

“Dear dear young lady. You’ve made my old soul fill with hope.” He said, “The first thing you need to do, is find a way to form a secret rebellion for your people. You need to get Meiran out of Lucien’s Control. Second, you must find a way to separate Lucien from Galen. If I am correct in my suspicions as to his identity, Robin’s Master owes me a life-debt. He is a reclusive Fae, who lives alone ruling a small band of simians, if anyone might help find a means, it’s him. You must get to know Robin, he possibly has a way of contacting him. He’ll also serve as your contact for the Eastern Kingdoms. To hear from you is a crucial step for the council.”

Cain heaves a sigh, “Whilst you do that, you must try to coax Galen to speak to you more. He’s the one who helped with your illness.” He instructs. “Show him more to the world than what Lucien forced upon him. Care for him whenever he’s in control, have him Meet Robin. But only tell Robin of Galen. He might react negatively if he knows of me in the early stages.”

He waited for an acknowledgement before continuing. “And that’s it for now. When we’re alone like this in this library, just say my name if you feel confused or need advice for another step, or wish for knowledge in general. As Long as Lucien is unaware of our plan, the advantage is ours.”

“Whilst you do that, you must try to coax Galen to speak to you more. He’s the one who helped with your illness.” He said and Clara felt her chest tighten a bit but it wasn't her illness. That night changed everything. “Show him more to the world than what Lucien forced upon him. Care for him whenever he’s in control, have him Meet Robin. But only tell Robin of Galen. He might react negatively if he knows of me in the early stages.” He said and Clara sighed. This is would be harder...Caring for Galen wouldn't be hard she already did but doing it outside of Lucian's control and knowledge that's even harder. She nodded still.

“And that’s it for now. When we’re alone like this in this library, just say my name if you feel confused or need advice for another step, or wish for knowledge in general. As Long as Lucien is unaware of our plan, the advantage is ours.” He said and Clara sighed. "I will do my best," She said and took his hands. "Thank you," She said and got the feeling he was about to leave so she stood up and picking up the books, Maelthra knocked on the floor. When the vision of the older man faded, she turned to him and tried to see if there was a way to tell the difference. " Yule is coming up," She said as she set the books back. "It's a festival, If you want to keep the people's spirits up and perhaps lift your own, we should celebrate," She said, Lucian mightnot give a damn, but Galen might. "I celebrate my birthday the same time too."

Cain faded, leaving Maelthra with a blank look, as if he was thinking. ”Yule is coming up.” Grey eyes looked towards her. ”It’s a festival, If you want to keep the people's spirits up and perhaps lift your own, we should celebrate," He slowly tilted his head in curiosity. ”I celebrate my birthday at the same time too.”

“When I celebrated my birthday, Mother and her friend Sera, a dark elf, would make this tiny cake for me, and little trinkets when I was younger. Sera gave me a sword when I was older.” Maelthra said, as if trying to add on to the conversation but not sure what to say. “Do people have fun on these festivals? What do you do with them?”

Obviously, this was Galen, who was genuinely curious.

Robin did a quick equipment check, still shirtless as he decided to wait until he was for sure dry from the dunking he received. “Sword, check, knife, Check. Jerky.... not check. Guard must’ve taken those. Gonna have to ask the princess for food later.”

He looked out a small window in his room. “And I’m much too high up for a simple climb down so that escape route I can cross out.” He muttered, stroking his chin in thought. “This requires planning, Careful planning. I wonder if the Princess is okay?”

When I celebrated my birthday, Mother and her friend Sera, a dark elf, would make this tiny cake for me, and little trinkets when I was younger. Sera gave me a sword when I was older.” Maelthra added and Clara smiled softly. “Do people have fun on these festivals? What do you do with them?” "Galen," she thought before turning to him. "Well, Yule celebrates the coming of winter, a festival to give thanks to the Gods for an easy one, or protection against the harsh one. We give offerings to the gods in regards to these winters. It lasts one week, with dancing, singing and music and food. " She explained with a genuine smile, one he'd likely not seen before and then blushed. "But since my birth, it's become somewhat of a gift giving holidays." She said genuinely bashful. "Father claims it was my idea but I was a mere toddler at the time, perhaps 3 for 4, but he said that I saw while the people came to celebrate my birthday and gave me gifts, I was saddened that the other childern, all of them older then me, didn't get any so I gave them my gifts, from then on, everyone gives gifts to one another one the last day of Yule, which was the day I was born." She said and bit her lip. "I don't even remember all of that." She said with a shrug. "It is expected that the royal family be among the people during this time, a way to show that we are at the mercy of the gods, we aren't above them, during Yule we are all people, " She said and looked him in the eye. "Human," She said and shrugged turning back to the books and began running her fingers over the spines until she found what she was looking for. "Ah, Here." She said and removed a book, which was more of a tome, that she needed two hands to carry, she placed it on the table beside him. "This is a history of Yule traditions, and our gods." She said and dusted off her hands. "I have to check on our guest but you read up, and perhaps think of the gifts you plan to give." She said. "They must be handmade," She said patted his hand. "Good luck," She said ducked out before he could call her back. Oh she hoped Cain was right.

She made her way to the room where Rob8n had been given and still lost in thought about Yule and memories of kt, she forgot to knock. She entered the room and was struck by the sight of bare skin, firm muscles and scars. She swallowed, blinked and looked away. "Oh! Forgive me, I should have knocked." She said, her tawny brown face flushed. "I-I cane to see if you needed anything, I-I'll be going," She said and turned to hurriedly leave, her heart racing.

Maelthra listened with large interest and nodded every now and then, Grey eyes gleaming with wonder at the thought of it. He even listened to how she started a new tradition at a young age and shrugged. ”I don't even remember all of that." He raised an eyebrow at that statement but went with it. ”It is expected that the royal family be among the people during this time, a way to show that we are at the mercy of the gods, we aren't above them, during Yule we are all people, Human.”

“Tell me more.” Maelthra said, “please?” ”Ah, here.” she pulled a book from the shelf and placed it on the table.

”This is a history of Yule traditions, and our gods." She told him. ”I have to check on our guest but you read up, and perhaps think of the gifts you plan to give. They must be handmade. Good luck." with that the Galen persona of the Shadow King was left to read the book.

——

Robin heard the door opening and realized he was still topless. “Dragon’s Teeth!” He hissed quietly to himself as he grabbed his shirt. ”Oh! Forgive me, I should have knocked. I-I cane to see if you needed anything, I-I'll be going."

“Sorry, I should have put on the shirt sooner.” Robin said in apology, “I didn’t mean to startle you.” He pulled on the article of clothing in question. “I didn’t want to get any of your clothing wet by any wayward wet spot. You can come back in if you wish, I was only going to ask for maybe something to fill my stomach? Been eating nothing but dried meat for the last week heading towards this city.”

As if it heard what he was requesting, Robin’s own stomach began to grumble. He looks down, his cheeks reddened slightly from the embarrassing sound. “Well at least something agrees with me on that front.”

”You'll stay here tonight, I'll see you to the inn in the morning. Good Night Mister Azura.” Robin nodded. “Please, just call me Robin. Mister makes me feel old. Good night Princess.”

——

Night was silent. Even Maelthra, who at times slept so hard, all three personas slept. However now, Galen was wide awake. He was studying a small book on handcrafted items to make for Yuletide; Lucien was halfway disgusted with the prospect but it seemed he raised no complaints as it placated Maelthra’s subjects further. The light shuffling of feet caught his attention as he got up and decided to investigate.

——

Robin stirred at his door opening and opened his eyes to see Clara in her nightgown, opening his window. A strange wintry chill filled the air as he heard her say something. ”The Winter King comes.” the wind picked up and shard like snow came cut at the princess.

“Your highness!” He said as he got up and pulled her away from the window, sending her towards the bed. His attention then turned to the window as he closed it after a few moments, his hand getting cut a few times from the snow.

“That was nasty.” Never before had he seen such snow as this.

”Winter King? Who would that allude to?He thought. His attention then turned to Clara. Was she Ill? He had to try and wake her. “Princess? Are you alright? You were pretty out of it.”

Unaware though, Robin was being observed by Galen, who luckily enough in his little prank earlier that day, disguised his voice from the Valsirian with the sigil, yet never saw what he looked like. This means Robin never saw his face either. But right at that moment, Galen cared for the safety of Clara, as he knew this was her sleepwalking aspect of her illness. Yet also, he felt a twinge of something as he observed Robin.

Jealousy, perhaps? He wasn’t sure yet but he watched Clara more then Robin, and that distracted his own feelings for the moment.

Clara awoke with a start, gasping, her heart raced and her body ached, and was dotted with little bits of ice she looked up to see the handsome face of Robin Azura, gazing down at her.“Princess? Are you alright? You were pretty out of it.” He said and she suddenly remembered her dream. With a starlted sob, she threw herself around Robin. "It was horrible!" She cried, gripping to him tightly. "This...thing, demon with white skin, it--he..." She shiviered and not from the cold and buried her face in Robin's chest. "I know it was a dream but..." She looked up at him, tears in her eyes. "It felt so real." She said and looked around. She was sleepwalking again but the cold should have woke her. She looked at the window and the snow that fell, hail rapping against the window.. "The Long Night, Winter is coming..." She whimpered softly before becoming racked with hollow coughs. She wheezed and coughed. She'd never experienced a Long Night, the last one happened nearly 20 years ago...the day of her birth.

Robin didn’t expect Clara to throw her arms around him, but let her do so nonetheless. ”It was horrible! This...thing, demon with white skin, it--he...“ she buried her face in her chest.

“It was just a nightmare princess, just a mere dream. It can’t hurt you.” He said, trying to calm her down.

”I know it was a dream but...” she looked up at him tears in her eyes. ”It felt so real.” she then looked towards the window and seemed frightened. ”The long Night. Winter is coming.” She then suddenly became wracked with hollow coughs. Robin looked in alarm and then realized.

“A winter child.” He murmured, as he eased her onto the bed. He then went to his pouches to try to find something that’d help and pulled a strange scented stick from one of his pouches. “Master’s incense, what luck!” Robin onto the bed, then lit one of the candles in the room, before lighting the strange stick on one end.

The eavesdropping Maelthra took a deep breath and backed up a bit, now feeling greener then an Orc. It should be him helping Clara! Not some other handsome bloke!

“Breathe in deeply as best you can, let the scent fill your lungs, and clear them.” Robin instructed calmly. Robin hoped the scent of medicinal plants found on his Master’s home would work as best as any treatment. “Your lungs are stressed. This’ll help them relax.”

”Must think of promise.. must resist urge... to attack him.” Galen thought, finding that he felt more in control then ever before, for it seemed whatever Clara was frightened of in her dream disturbed Lucien.

But what would disturb the mind of Maelthra, First of his name, to make him withdraw in the recesses of his own memory to try and glean anything from it? What makes the first Shadow King react so?

"A Winter Child," Robin said before setting to rummaging through his things. Clara, still wheezing and coughing, watched him. He knew what she was. How did he know? Before long, before her vision began to swim, he set fire to a plant and the smell struck her first. Eucalyptus, but in incense form. “Breathe in deeply as best you can, let the scent fill your lungs, and clear them.” Robin instructed gently and Clara tried, wheezing before cough so hard it hurt her chest. “Your lungs are stressed. This’ll help them relax.” He said and she nodded obediently and tried again.

After a few tries, she was able to breath deeply enough that she could fel the tingling of the plant. Her coughs ceased but she still wheezed, a little. "Tha-Thank...You," She said between ragged breathes. She felt dizzy and impossibly weak. The ice that had embedded in her skin long since melted but it left her cut and cold. She looked up at him. "You know... what a... Winter Child... is," She said softly. It wasn't a question. She lay back, she had no strength to leave to her chamber and frankly, she didn't want to be alone after that awful dream. The thought of it nearly made her whimper. "I am the... only one... to survive...in recent... history," She said quietly. "But I suppose... I don't need to... explain that... to you?" She said and lay her head on the pillow. "I am sorry... I don't think I... can make it... to my chambers... I don't... have the strength." She said and could barely keep her eyes opened ."Do you mind...staying with me...?" and before she knew it she was fast asleep.
