As a scout, he never leaves home without his survival equipment and binoculars. As a sniper, he always packs an A280-CFE system. The weapon is a core pistol, with components needed to convert it into an assault rifle or sniper rifle permutation. Heβs often in fatigues, but theyβre variants lacking any Alliance insignia, in order to make him an unknown soldier when heβs behind enemy lines. The only reference to his identity resides in a small carving he etched into the grip of his pistol: βDorrβ
His hair is short, dark as Sith robes, but thick as the gas of Bespin. His eyes are large, inviting blue eyes, that can be straight-up piercing when he's out in the field.

In terms of personality traits, the one that stands out most is his patience. He is a kind, spiritual young man who strives to understand others. He mercilessly kills his enemy, but does not hate them. Bennjin holds an almost juvenile enthusiasm. Outside of combat, he's upbeat, and fancies himself a ladies' man. Some wonder if the long periods of isolation has broken something inside, but others donβt really care, because that enthusiasm lifts spirits and boosts morale. Heβs one to crack jokes outside of combat. However, when heβs in a combat zone or out on assignment, heβs cold, cunning, and moves with precision and purpose. Pray for the one who gets in his crosshairs.
He is young, fresh-faced despite the stress of his missions, and only has a few burn scars on his arms and torso from when he was shot by a blaster. The story behind those scars hasn't shown any serious psychological effects, as far as psychiatrists are concerned. "Any fight you can walk away from, eh?" He would cite whenever he tells the story.
In terms of negative traits, he holds a high opinion of himself and the reasons for why he does what he does. He simply sees himself as better- mainly because he's proven to be better than a lot of other people. His superiority complex doesn't get in the way of his work, but being a spiritual, upbeat guy like he is, that comes across as annoying to many others. It's honestly no wonder he's often sent out alone. He prefers to avoid close combat any time he could help it, and is ultimately quite cowardly. The cowardice only multiplied after the Hutt incident, where he nearly died. Until it becomes a problem for his primary role, psychiatric help surrounding that aspect was not prioritized.
Needless to say, mining alongside a Force monk tends to give one... perspective.

Bennjin was born and raised on a small mining planet to a mother and father who worked for the company that owned the rock. The planet was was exhausted and subsequently abandoned when he was six. His parents moved from planet to asteroid for work. The particular mining company they worked for was extracting very specific materials- those that were imported and utilized in the Starkiller Base.
His parents, along with many others, started a riot against the First Order security. However, many were slain and many more were detained and tortured back into subservience. Bennjin's parents were among the dead, while the teenage Bennjin was apprehended and forced to continue working. During that time, his hatred boiled and bubbled within, only lashing out at times and getting severely beaten as a result. On the final mining operation, he was bunked alongside a rather spiritual man who spoke of the stories Bennjin had heard when he was younger. As a child, he heard the stories of the Jedi, and the peace and prosperity they had brought to the galaxy. From the monk, Bennjin learned to let go of that hatred, that the guards that tormented him only did so for a paycheck, that the guards had families, and goals, and purpose. He couldn't bring himself to kill... for now.
A few months later, the Alliance busted into the colony and freed every worker/slave. Bennjin, having nowhere else to go, joined the Alliance, where he turned out to be a born crack shot and scout. While with the Alliance, he heard more tales and legends of the Jedi. Amongst the mumbo-jumbo and nonsense (at least, nonsense to most people) Bennjin took to heart the idea that "all living things become one with the Force when they perish". This idea eased his heart in the context of killing. Thus, it allowed him to accept that he was meant to kill, in order to restore balance to a galaxy held in the iron grip of fear, and threatened by the likes of the First Order.
In his early Alliance career, Bennjin was often deployed to base defence, where his eye for terrain only improved. Soon enough, he was picking out good vantage points at a glance. Shortly after, he developed an eye not for the good, but for the unexpected. He avoided the vantage points any trained solder would think of at a glance, (especially an enemy soldier) and has helped to scatter enemy platoons to the mercy of awaiting ambushes by utilizing some very clever and unique vantage points.
His intuition only improved as he performed in the line of duty, and rapidly became a dependable, intelligent soldier. When his marksmanship reached an almost feared status, the Alliance decided to utilize his skills for covert operations. Bennjin turned out to be quite good at that. His positive attitude, acceptance for who he is and what he must do, and fresh face made few think he was an assassin. The only one who wasnβt fooled was a particularly paranoid Hutt, whose men were the only ones to have gotten a shot off on him, for all the good it did them.
Though he once hated the First Order for killing his parents, much time has passed since then. Now, he recalls the Jedi order and their virtues. Despite not being Force-sensitive, he adheres to qualities of patience and understanding. He refuses to give into anger and hate, and no longer particularly βhatesβ the First Order. He firmly believes the days of the Jedi and balance can return, and that day won't come with fury.
Some would say heβs a wild card who defies orders, but he has only defied orders due to developments out in the field that wouldβve rendered previous orders unfit to perform. More often than not, his intuition has worked out for the better. Even if the results were not ideal, he still walked away from it- which is more than anyone can ask for from such a useful asset. Because of this intuition, Bennjin was considered for promotion. He politely declined said offers for promotion, and thus remained a lower rank than Captain.
