Personality: Rogue is a complex woman as on the one hand she is a strong willed and confident woman who will not take any crap from anyone. But on the other hand she is insecure and lonely due to her inability to touch another person. She generally covers up so as to not accidently touch someone and hurt them. She can be fun and flirtatious and at these times she is a typical southern belle.
Powers: Rogue possesses the superhuman ability to absorb the memories, knowledge, talents, personality, and physical abilities (whether superhuman or not) of another human being through physical contact of her skin with the skin of the other person. (Sometimes she also duplicates in herself outward physical characteristics of her victim.) Due to unknown factors Rogue has permanently absorbed certain superhuman powers from Ms. Marvel which are:superhuman strength, endurance, stamina, flight, and physical durability
Weakness: Rogue cannot touch another human being without temporarily absorbing that person's memories, abilities, and superhuman powers (if any) and rendering him or her unconscious. Remnants of the personalities of victims whose memories she has absorbed remain buried in her subconscious indefinitely.
History: Rogue was born in Caldecott County, Mississippi to Own and Priscilla. She was raised speaking English and French which was common in the bayou. At some point during her childhood her mother dissappeared in strange circumstances and Rogue was then under the care of her aunt Carrie, but that did not work out well as Carrie was a strict guardian and Rogue a rebellious child. At some point during this time Rogue met a young man called Cody Robbins who was the first guy she got close to. Unfortunately this was the time when her powers first manifested, when she kissed Cody she absorbed his energy and he ended up in a permanent coma. This traumatised Rogue and she ran away from home unable to deal with what she had done and what she now was.
It was after she had run away that Rogue met Mystique who became a subsitute mother to her, Mystique took her in and comforted her. Though unbeknownst to Rogue Mystique was using Rogue's bitterness, lonliness, envy and despair to turn her against humans and eventually was successful in getting her to join the Brotherhood of Mutants. Rogue stayed with them for a time using her power to absorb other mutants abilities to further the Brotherhoods goals. It was during this time that she absorbed the powers of Ms Marvel, though she ended up with them permanently which was not intentional. Ms Marvel ended up in a coma and Rogue could now fly and had super strength as well as Ms Marvel's other abilities.
It was after this that Rogue began to develop problems, it turned out that she did not just absorb powers from other mutants but also their psyche. These pysche stay within her own mind and had begun causing Rogue trouble making her feel like she was no longer in control of herself or her powers. Driven to gain help that she did not feel she could get from Mystique she turned to Professor Xavier, he used his abilities to seal these pysche away giving her peace. After that she realised that she did not want to aid Mystique or the brotherhood anymore and severed ties with them, choosing instead to join the X-men.
