Name: Bullet Lion

Civilian name:Keith Jathens

Age:17

Occupation:Thief

Alliance: Just himself at the moment

Appearance:
ImageImage

General Appearance: Keith has a slender build. His hair is naturally flat and has a plain almost bowl cut to it. His hint of bangs are separated by a part in the middle and overall his hair is noticeable brown color. Hidden under his clothes is the physique of a fighter which he had sculpted over many years of hard training. The only noticeable markings on his slightly tanned skin would be faded lines on his right arm. For some reason, he tends to wear a glove only on his right arm. He rarely takes it off. His measurement in feet and inches is a good 5'10 and his weight is surprisingly 158 lbs.

Secondary Appearance: Upon using his mutant powers there are several noticeable changes to Keith's appearance. The most noticeable one would have to be the lion pawed gauntlet on his right arm. This is somewhat a mechanical copy of a feline animals paw, with the arm dawning a yellowish gold color and the fingers becoming a red shade of orange. Another change would have to be his hair. His normal flat brown hair changes to a messy postured up bundle of dark red hair. His eyes also change color, dawning golden bright eyes from their normal light brown color.

Image

Personality: Keith is in all matter of the word, a simple individual. However, he is also complex deep inside. He tends to act differently on the outside than he feels on the inside. Though on the outside he is expressing himself in full stride, but at some points he may be going over bored because he feels he has to compensate for the feelings he keeps inside.

Usually he acts just like an animal. He lives without any rules to go by and walks around the world acting as if everything on it is his. He seems to be a bully to people who think they're big and picks fights with the toughest looking people he can find, just to prove that he's stronger. If they end up losing the fight and Keith deems them unworthy, then he wont respect them, but instead disrespects them in gruesome manners. Though he isn't cruel enough to kill someone without reason, he has been known on occasion to cause a person over needed pain to calm his own nerves. In an essence Keith is a thief. He really doesn't need more than a couple bucks, so he says, but he seems to keep robbing or attempting to rob banks and high class malls. His main goal is to get a rise out of the cops so he can have a little bit of fun and his second is to fulfill his robin hood role. It seems Keith is very lax about allot of things and actually a cool person to those who don't act like they're big in bag. He even sometimes helps people when he's not causing trouble. As it is true that not much angers him, people who get in the way of his main goals or his fun seem to see him angry.

When it comes to the thoughts normal people have about things, Keith grew up thinking that life should be easier then what people make of it, especially since he has powers. Because of these thoughts, he shunned the idea of living a normal life and only wants to quench his thirst of adrenaline. When it comes to money, he'll do anything for money. It doesn't matter how hard or medial the task is. As long as it's not a sexual favor, he usually accepts. He rarely shows actual heart felt care for people, keeping those emotion deep inside of himself, so because of this he gets called a jerk. He doesn't really care what people think of him. Their negative thoughts only make him act more like a beast. It gets so bad sometimes that he feels he has to destroy everything. In his mind, he agrees with what the masses say. He might be a lost cause, but he's going to have a blast being one.

He's pretty cocky and over confident, but one thing he can't do is talk to women. It's almost like his body freezes when he talks to the, so, as a rule, he tends to stay away from them so that he doesn't have to not look cool. His favorite color is red and favorite food is anything he sees. He's not really too picky with food. To some it all up, he comes off as a sociopath in some aspects, but he really isn't one. . . maybe.

Mutant Classification: Beta: Though no apparent changes can be seen with just a glance, if you look closely you'll be able to see the thinned lines on his right arm that were caused from a time in the past, where he tried to absorb energy over his normal amount. Also, you may realize that Keith wears a glove constantly on his right arm. The glove hides a black hole in his hand. Seemingly bottomless. Although hollow and empty, the hole doesn't seem to be a black hole, possessing no suction effects.

Powers and Abilities:Keith has the power of alteration. By destroying an object and absorbing the energy around him, he dawns an altered form that he uses to fight. Little is known about the extent of alteration, but it seems he can only add amour to his right hand and create the energy pockets that line up on his back. In all, he has 3 that set the bar for how many burst of energy he can use.

Strengths and abilities:

Lion Gauntlet: The Lion Gauntlet, as Keith calls it, is created from the matter and the energy around Keith and forms it into a set of both a fine piece of protective and destructive power. The new arm gives him immense strength that allows him to take heavy impacts, such as explosions, cars, and rocks, as well as other things. it's basically a build that turns his arm into a Cannonball. It get's stronger depending on how much Keith destroys when he alters. By punching the ground he can lunge meters into the sky and by landing fist first, Keith can create an uplifting shockwave. Though small in diameter, whoever is around him will feel a small quake. Just don't stand under him when he does it and it shouldn't be lethal.

Bullets(The name he gives to the energy pockets on his back.)

Bullet one- The bottom pocket on his back. It gives him a boost that sends him forwards by educing the rocket effect, in which it dissolves and pushes him in the direction he is facing. He can steer it back lunging his fist in the direction he wants to go. The maximum range on it is 5 city blocks. The further he travels the weaker the effect on impact.

Bullet two- The second largest and also the middle socket on his back. It does the same thing as bullet one, but allows him to travel a whole mile instead of a half. Due to test by those who have experimented on him, he has the power of a bomb of sorts. Though it doesn't create a fire the quake on impact can destroy one city block. Unlike the first bullet, it keeps the same effect until the very end of the range.

Bullet three- The top and largest socket on his back. It allows him to travel three miles. On the completion of the first mile he gets a boost in speed making him break the sound barrier. Thus, the further he travels the stronger the impact. Having never traveled the full distance, little is known about its full power, though it is expected he can take out a small radius of a city, leveling the buildings around him.

Minor ability: Keiths body has allot of sustain and can take a beating. However, he does tend to break his bones every now and then and when he does he doesn't seem to have the nerves to realize it. It can be detrimental to his health should he lose control and not watch his condition.

Weaknesses:

Alteration: having the power that he does, he is capable of much more than he puts out. It matters how much substance and energy he absorbs. However, on the one time he tried to absorb more than his norm, even though he received the power he wanted he lost the feeling in his arm after basically destroying it. The pain was too immense and lasting that he deemed the limit unsafe to pass, in fear of losing his arm completely.

Bullets: For the reason of being safe, he is limited to only three burst of energy every hour. When he fights he has to be careful about using his shots because everyone counts.

Gauntlet: The gauntlet can be broken by one of two ways: 1. He his an object that's pushing forth the same amount of power he is. 2. Someone hits him with a curved spear like object that comes close to the strength as his armor and hits him at a certain angle. The preferred angle of impact would be the top of the bridge between the middle of his middle knuckle and his ring knuckle.

History:

Keith was born to Marian and Jayson Jathens inside the slums of Philadelphia. He was the first and only known child to his parents. Sadly, his mother died before giving birth to him and he was C-sectioned from his mom in order to survive, being born one month earlier than expected. Though his dad loved him, once he found out about his ability, he became violent, beating Keith on multiple occasions to prove that he was still stronger than him, despite his powers. In turn, Keith himself became violent and began fighting people who he deemed fit or annoying. Not to long after turning 15, Keith nearly beat his father to death and left him. It wasn't like he was walking out into the street because he hadn't lived in a home for years.

Shortly after being on his own, he realized that human scientist would pay him money to experiment on him and run test, money he used to buy food and help out the other homeless kids around his neighborhood. It was through these test that he realized that his powers were stronger than he had thought they were and began secretly going out and raiding banks and other facilities that had money. He also accepted some underground jobs which had led him to travel outside of his city. He went to New York to destroy the statue of liberty, bringing back her head for some french contractors that he'd met, but didn't follow through with it, realizing that they were using him to go against his own country. Not only that, but they were planning on double crossing him when he had retrieved the head and were going to leave him out for dead. He barely beat them all, seeing as they also had mutants on their side and decided to lay low for a while so he could heal himself. However, through watching the news he saw the reports on the HMR pressuring mutants. His own kind. He also heard word of allot of the mutants plans to go out and attack the HMR facilities. He didn't really care about the HMR or his fellow mutants, but did see excitement in raiding with a bunch of people who seemed to have powers just like him. He now plans on introducing himself with a bang and destroying everything he can see.

Other information: While using his powers, his hair changes color and style, making it easy for him to stay hidden without having to wear a costume. This may be the main reason why the law hasn't been able to chase him.

So begins...

Niles Cranston

On the busy new York Streets filled with urban happenings, dog walkers, school children traveling to and fro, hot dog stands, businessmen and women, everyone bustling about. There was one that fit into the busy world seemingly well. Niles Cranston, a wealthy young man about town, traveled the city blocks from the nice restaurant that he usually frequented during lunch hour. Now on his return trip to the office he owned he received a phone call. The voice on the other end was familiar and it belonged to the owner of a rival company.
“Mr. Cranston
gosh are your glory days at a swift end.” The voice said mockingly over the phone.

Niles clutched the phone tightly in his hand. “Mr. Roberts? What are you talking about? I don’t have time or the energy to deal with your games.” Niles replied as he tried to remain calm.

“My company was always in your company’s shadow. I gotta admit that you’re a good businessman but nobody will want to buy the jewels they’ll be wearing around their necks, in their ears, or on their finger when they are being sold to them by a creepy mutant!” Mr. Roberts replied.

“What?! You little shyster! What are you getting at?” Niles replied as he stopped in the middle of the sidewalk, people passing him by casually.

“give it up will ya?! I know you’re a pretty boy but you ain’t the airheaded type, and guess what, neither am I! I hired a PI to do a little investigating and he found out your filthy little mutant secret! Your finished Cranston!” Roberts shouted on the line.

Niles rolled his eyes and smirked, “Like anyone would take a second look at, yet alone, believe a twisted little no neck conman and jeweler cheat like you! Stop wasting my time Roberts.” Niles replied in a confident tone. He was about to end the call but Roberts quickly belted out a game changing reply.

“Oh well the House of mutant representation believed me. They looked at me and my information about you for as long as it took. So apparently I must not be that repulsive. HAHAHAHA
.. THAT’S RIGHT I GAVE YOUR INFO TO THE HMR!! And guess what my handsome little devil, they’re gonna hunt you down and lock you away with all the other Mutant crazies. But sisnce I’m such a gracious nice guy, I thought I’d give you a little head start to get the hell outta dodge before the HMR finds you. You can skip town or whatever, but just know that you’re lovely little jewelry company is finished pal. Haaaaaaahahahahaha
.” Mr. Roberts cackled over the phone.

Niles ended the call and looked quite distraught. He trembled at the thought of his life of hard earned success coming to a dreadful halt. “Why
. Why would this have to happen to me? I never hurt anyone
I don’t deserve that. What the hell am I supposed to do now?” Niles said to himself aloud. He backed up not knowing who or what was behind him. He bumped into a young man and the two collided the young man to stumble backward.

“Oh Shit!! I’m so sorry! I- just, I mean I don’t know what’s going on today. My life is a wreak now
I’m already screwing things up for other people. I’M SO SORRY, I should go.” Niles said in a panic after helping the young man to his feet. Little did he know that Keith was a mutant as well.

Evan Prentice and Vernon Yorkshire

Evan Prentice sat in his office at the top of a building he owned. He sat looking over several documents and contracts that needed his signature. Vernon entered the office with a rather bothered expression which Evan noticed immediately. He looked up with a furrowed brow. “Vernon love, what’s the matter? Nothing good ever follows that expression.” Evan asked. He was growing increasingly concerned.

Vernon looked as if he had been holding his breath for minutes. He finally let out a deep exhale. “Correct Evan, it’s not good at all. You remember a month ago when that assistant of Milton Conway, of Conway enterprises flipped you off and you gave him a concussion by punching him out with a fist of stone?”

“Yes, what about it?” Evan replied calmly, waiting for the rest of the news to surface.

“Well Love I told you then that the media was going to be all over that and it would cause trouble. I couldn’t cover that up.” Vernon replied in a regretful tone.

“Vern you know blokes like that just drive me bonkers. He simply learned not to push a man with a bit of a temper. A valuable lesson. Besides I don’t care about the media let them gossip, it’s all they do. It doesn’t matter Love. You worry too much.” Evan replied as he had begun to smile gently in an effort to ease Vernon’s worries.

“No no Love it does matter now. Someone from the media turned photos of the happening over to the House of Mutant Registration. You’ve received a letter today. They want you to turn yourself in for questioning. Evan you can’t stay here anymore. Let’s just go back to the UK. We can manage the company from there and keep our heads down.” Vernon replied, he was afraid for Evan’s future. However he also knew how stubborn Evan was and that he was most likely going to refuse the suggestion.

“They WHAT?!” Evan replied angrily. “No no no
. I will not be tossed off by those sodding HMR bloodhounds just because I gave that little shit a piece of what he deserved!” Evan fussed as he stood from his seat and moved from behind the desk.

“Evan please
We can’t risk making the government anymore suspicious of us than they already are.” Vernon pleaded as he placed the letter from the HMR down on the desk.

“Vernon
The HMR are prejudiced bullies. A bully isn’t the suspicious sort. A bully is a hateful coward that is most afraid of what the bloke with their face under their boot sole is capable of doing if they ever get out from under there.” Evan began to pace back and forth. He stopped in front of Vernon and placed his hands gently on Vernon’s arms. “Sorry love, this just takes me right back to that day you got knocked off that bridge and drowned because of a scared and angry boy who was desperate on vengeance for his sister. Instead of letting life move on as it should, as nature intended, he bloody left you to drown and die. You couldn’t change who you were and you weren’t going to lie to that poor girl by hiding who you were. The same goes for us as mutants. We can’t change who or what we are, and we damn well won’t continue hiding it. Vernon I won’t let the HMR or any other bloke knock the life out of you or me ever again. I WON’T.” Evan said forcefully. He held Vernon close and exhaled deeply.

Vernon returned Evan’s embrace as the two simply lingered in the security of holding one another. Vernon replied in a tired manner, “I see what you mean. It’s never easy for us is it?” Vernon sighed and he nuzzled his cheek into Evan’s shoulder.

“Easy never just is, it’s made. I’ll make things easier. But I’ll need your help. You know I tend to lose myself and get into trouble.” Evan said with a little smile.

“Yes indeed. I wouldn’t let you out of my sight for a second Evan.” Vernon snickered. ”I’ll follow you anywhere, to hell and back if necessary.” Vernon replied as he looked into Evan’s eyes. He meant every word.

Evan looked down into Vernon’s eyes. “And if there is no turning back?” He said in a grave manner. “I can’t promise that we’d survive the storm brewing.”

Vernon placed his hand on Evan’s cheek and softly replied, “Then to hell for good, if necessary.”

After a brief moment of embrace the two returned to a lighter tone. Evan picked up the HMR letter and scanned it with his eyes. “How about I burn this piece of bollocks, then you and I march down to this listed address and give them that interview they asked for?”

“Haven’t I mentioned how great I am with interviews?” Vernon replied with a silly grin. The two began to laugh lightly.

“God I love you Vernon.” Evan said as the two began to leave Evan’s office. Not long later they arrived at the address to on of the HMR facilities. It was a beautiful office building, however who knew what sort of secrets the build covered up. No one knew how many mutants were being detained in the facility or what was to happen to them. Evan stood in from of the rounded building, and placed his hands on his hips, his blue pinstriped suit jacket rested over his forearms. “Lovely place, shame it’s got a rodent problem.” Evan said as he examined the building and people traveling through it.

“So what do you propose Evan?” Vernon asked calmly, as if the two were in a business meeting.

“I propose you teleport any mutants held inside out of there. While hold off any opposition. Then I will tear this rat trap down around their ears.” Evan replied with eyes fixed on his target.

Vernon looked up to the sky and spoke softly, “Dear lord, keep your eyes on me as we run the edge of hell. Keep us even in the midst of our folly. Amen.” Vernon prayed as he believed that they would need it for what was to come ahead.

Kyle Jean-Claude

"Hopefully I'm not the only one getting sick of their pranks," Jonathan said with a sigh, leaning against the counter casually, still managing to be taller than the Frenchman despite his best efforts to lower his height. He lifted the coffee and drained half the cup, then set it down gently. He ran a hand through his hair, moving it back out of his face a little better. "I feel like I'm getting old myself when I say things like that." He looked to Kyle. "So what does a handsome young man like yourself do all day? Wont you entertain this old geezer with your stories," he joked weakly.

Kyle looked up with surprise in his eyes. He was surprised that Jonathan would call himself a geezer. Kyle found such quirky jokes amusing. Kyle snickered a bit and cleared his throat to formulate his response. His French accent was ever present and only added to his allure, “Well I am no scholar of the English language but you are not fitting the definition of Geezer. But nevertheless it would be my pleasure to entertain you.” Kyle replied as he noticed that the wine cabinet was right next to him and he turn to open it, reaching for a bottle of wine and a wine glass. After pouring a glass he replied to Jonathan with a smooth smile. “Handsome men like me
 hmm
well I for one spend and awful amount of time hiding my alcoholism. I am French you know. Most Americans, like Logan, think it’s distasteful to drink in the morning.” He took a sip of wine and then held his glass up in the air, in a gesture to Logan. “I am French I don’t function without wine in the morning.” He said to Logan from across the room with a sly grin on his face. Logan simply shook his head as he had given up fighting Kyle on the matter.

Kyle wasn’t a true alcoholic but he did drink with the best of them. Kyle took another drink of wine and said to Jonathan, “I do work out a lot. I am a model so looked ‘handsome’ is my job and to keep your age from showing you’ve got to work harder for it.” Kyle snickered a bit. “So what do you have planned for today, if you don’t mind me asking? Mind if an airheaded model tags along?”

Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr

Charles had once more used Cerebro as he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was amiss. He picked up on some activity. Cerebro had begun to log data on the two mutants. “We are going to need to assemble the X-men soon. Multiple hotspots have emerged on Cerebro’s grid. I must monitor the situation before we make a move.” Charles said with worry in his voice.

Erik regretted that they would be sending the x-men once again into the middle of the chaos when all most wanted was to have a quiet moment of lasting peace but today was not their day. “Alright Charles. Just please don’t strain yourself.”

#, as written by Damioa
During the daytime inside of New York, all sorts of noises could be heard. It was a busy city after all and the cars, people, and even the buildings seemed to be adding sounds as if it was a orchestra of some kind. However, it seemed even though there was nothing surprising about the volume of people's voices and also the music that could be heard in different areas, there had seemed to be one person that was almost deliberately trying to single handily take the volume to the next possible level.

"What do you mean you won't feed me!?" The young man with biker like clothing roared. By looking at him you could tell he had traces of both your normal everyday punk, and also, a hint of your common disturbed teenager.

"I'm sorry kid, but it's my policy to not feed children during this time of day. You should be in camp or something. Besides you neither have money or a valid ID." The greasy hot dog stand man said, surprisingly in a calm tone.

"Oh really? Well you just don't know how to make money. I have all of this right here."
"We don't take hundred dollar bills."

The young man wasn't satisfied by that answer. Immediately he kicked over the stand spilling piles of hot dogs all around the concrete streets. Throwing a couple hundreds at the stand owner he smirked, "Well, Guess you can use that money for something after all huh?", before taking a few dogs, a canteen of ketchup and a pack of hot dog buns. In all truth he did pay for his meal. He maybe paid more than he should have, but it seemed the officer on duty wasn't convinced that he was a good stable citizen.

Keith Jathens, only 17 years old had never been arrested in his life, even though he had pulled off all sorts of stunts like the one he did but six hours ago. He was what some would call, an escape artist. He on the other hand just believed that if the cops couldn't beat him, then why would he let them catch him. He had a weird way of thinking. Some of his thoughts even counted his others and where he had meant to just take the hotdogs without paying, it was either his pride or his conscience that caused him to throw away his last bit of money. He ended up ditching the food so that it wouldn't slow him down too.

Walking out of the subway which held the men's bathroom that he was hiding in, he sighed to himself while walking in a zig-zag formation. He hated it. Not only was he in a city he wasn't used to being in, but he was also left without food. Sure he had a place to sleep, but that would only be good until the next month. It was easy enough to say that he was in a stupor of being poor. He wondered if he should try robbing another bank or a store, something which he hadn't done in a long time.

Naaah. That's not even a fun way to make money.

It was true. An act such as that had become so easy to him, he honestly thought about getting a job before robbing another place. He continued in his lost senses until he heard some type of distorted conversation before feeling a pressence on his face which cause him to back up in a kneeling stance. "What the... Watch where you're going." He growled looking up at the guy. Judging from the mans clothing he suddenly created the idea to rob him. He seemed rich enough. Although, the man offered his hand to help Keith up, which not many people did in this day of age, making the boy take back his thoughts. He couldn't do harm to a person that showed him kindness, no matter how rich looking the person looked.

The man began panicking after he helped Keith up and the boy in turned scowled at him. He swiftly sniffed himself to see if he was foul. He remembered taking a shower just yesterday, unless he had slept a day, which he was known for doing. It seemed not to be his smell, but maybe embarrassment, or possibly the man was busy. He didn't know. He did know that right behind them, two cops had pointed at him and he quickly grabbed the mans arm. "Listen. Don't say a word okay?" He ordered not explaining much.

"Sir we're going to need you to come with us." One of the officers said.
"Why? I didn't do anything."
"Article 10: Disturbing the piece. Passage 12: Destruction of owned property. Article 9: Thievery."
"Awe come on, I'm only a kid. Plus I gave the man money so all should be fine."
"You must learn that there are consequences for your actions. . . Hey." The officer said turning to Keiths new "friend". "Aren't you that guy... George. What's that guys name. The one that sells the jewelry and stuff."
The other officer known as George apparently looked up and laughed. "Oh yeah. Niles Cranston. You know, I bought my wife something from your make and well, let's just say, we had a good night."
"Did she cook you meat or something?" Asked Keith in an innocent manner.
"What?"
"Well, when you do something nice for a woman, she cooks you meat right?"
Staring at each other the two officers whispered while doing various head movements. "How do you two know each other again?"
"Uh.... Um... He's my....Brother? Yeah. He's my big bro. You know like we have the same mom.... and dad."
"Okay kid." George said patting Keith on the head. Turning to Niles he winked and said, "Seeing as your brother is both innocent and a little bit of an airhead, we can let him go for this little misdemeanor, but please, give this kid the talk or something."

As the officers left Keith let go of Niles arm. "Man those guys are dumb. Do we look related. Hehehe. I wonder what he meant by the talk though. Anyway," He said holding out his hand, "I'm Keith. Nice to meet you. Niles was it? Seems I'm in your debt or something like that so I'm going to follow you around seeing as you might need help with something. That sound cool. I can do anything you want. Listen since you kept quiet like I asked I'll tell you a little secret." Keith looked around. "I'm a mutant. So yeah. I'm pretty much a bad ass. Don't tell no one though. Awe heck. I don't care if you tell. Seriously though, anything you want, I'll do it for you. A rich looking man like yourself might want something. Not saying you have to pay. This one favor's on the house." Keith grinned. "Only one though."

Niles Cranston

The young man seemed to scowl when Niles bumped into him but only momentarily. Right behind Niles and Keith, two cops had pointed at Keith and he quickly grabbed the Niless arm. "Listen. Don't say a word okay?" Keith ordered not explaining much.

"Sir we're going to need you to come with us." One of the officers said.

"Why? I didn't do anything." The young man replied.

"Article 10: Disturbing the peace. Passage 12: Destruction of owned property. Article 9: Thievery." The officer retorted.

"Awe come on, I'm only a kid. Plus I gave the man money so all should be fine." said the seemingly crafty young man.

Niles stood puzzled by the happening. He remained silent as he took in what was going on. It seemed that this young man was in a spot of trouble and needed a helping hand in getting out of it. Niles was deciding what he was going to do. He had his own troubles to deal with but he couldn’t help but rack his brain with how to help the young man out.

"You must learn that there are consequences for your actions. . . Hey." The officer said turning to Keiths new "friend". "Aren't you that guy... George. What's that guys name. The one that sells the jewelry and stuff."

Niles looked a surprised in a somewhat lofty manner as the officer recognized him. Answering casually, “Ah, yes. I’m Niles Cranston.” He replied.

The other officer known as George apparently looked up and laughed. "Oh yeah. Niles Cranston. You know, I bought my wife something from your make and well, let's just say, we had a good night."

Niles replied pleasantly, “Is that so? I’m glad she found my work satisfactory. And that it was worth the purchase for you sir as well.”

"Did she cook you meat or something?" Asked Keith in an innocent manner.

"What?" the officer inquired.

"Well, when you do something nice for a woman, she cooks you meat right?" Keith continued.

Niles stared curiously at the young man. ’How peculiar he is.’ Niles thought to himself.

Staring at each other the two officers whispered while doing various head movements. "How do you two know each other again?"

"Uh.... Um... He's my....Brother? Yeah. He's my big bro. You know like we have the same mom.... and dad." The young man replied quickly.

Niles’ expression was unchanging as if the statement were true. He decided to play along. “Sorry officers, my little brother has always been a bit awkward and prone to misbehave when nervous.” Niles added.

"Okay kid." George said patting Keith on the head. Turning to Niles he winked and said, "Seeing as your brother is both innocent and a little bit of an airhead, we can let him go for this little misdemeanor, but please, give this kid the talk or something."

“Yes, sir. I promise officer, you won’t have any more trouble out of him.” Niles replied with a relieved expression and then looked down at Keith with the scowl an elder brother would give.

As the officers left, Keith let go of Niles arm.

“Nice to meet you Keith. You’re quite a strange one, I must say.” He shook Keith’s hand. “As for doing me a favor
well I’m not sure what to ask of you. Regarding my fortune
well, I’m not sure how long that’s gonna last now.” Niles let out a heavy sigh, the pressure of his predicament once again weighing upon him. “By the way, your secret is safe with me Keith as it is the same as the secret I’m keeping, or at least was keeping up until moments before I bumped into you.” Niles then sat on a nearby park bench. “I’ve just been blackmailed and set up by a rival in business. He gave my name to the HMR and they will most likely lock me away. No one will want to do business with a mutant, he said. He might be right. I’m finished, so Keith I don’t think it would be good for you to get involved with me.”

Niles sat and rubbed his brow. “If only someone would put an end to the HMR. Then no one would have to fear being hunted down by them. Maybe sending them a message via force will be enough. My mentor Emma Frost, said that I should fight for the freedom of mutants. I might get caught but I’d rather get caught fighting for mutant kind then running away. I’m already in the spotlight of the HMR so I can risk getting caught but you’re under the radar for now, and I’d rather you stay that way. So I can’t ask you to help me with my plan.” Niles was concerned for Keith. In the short time he’d known the young man, he’d developed a fondness for him. Niles felt like he was safeguarding his own estranged little brother.

The Kitchen

Vincent grew quite concerned with Ryan’s sudden furry. It was a rare sight for anyone to see Ryan in such rage. He was almost terrifying, ready to rip anything that moved the wrong way to shreds by the looks of him. “Whoa whoa
Ryan buddy it’s alright! Please calm down.” He said.

Fuyumi had begun to approach Ryan and Jean stepped forward but Logan motioned for them not to get too close. Logan understood the kind of rage Ryan was exhibiting, he and Sabertooth often met with such standoffs. It was purely a miracle that the two hadn’t tried harder to kill one another while in the mansion for so long. The two simply kept a mutual distance from one another and that seemed to help a bit. “Look there will be no fighting you got it?” Logan said after Ryan challenged Terra.

Scott stood from his chair ready to break up a possible fight. Things seemed to calm down before he could say anything. Hideki, for the first time, was actually afraid of Ryan. He had never thought Ryan could become so fierce and angry. When Ryan calmed down, and reverted back to his human appearance, his clothes were tattered all over. Hideki called after Ryan as he left the room, but Cain placed a hand on his shoulder, “Let him be for now Hideki. He’ll come back around when he’s ready to. He probably wants a little space for the moment.” Cain said to Hideki.

Jonathan walked back over to Kyle and leaned back against the wall. He leaned in a little closer to Kyle. "I don't trust him," he said quietly.
Kyle took a moment to evaluate Terra for himself. “Yes. I too am a bit, what is the word? Ah, apprehensive. I agree.”
He shook his head and stepped back, turning to Kyle with an apologetic smile. "Sorry 'bout that." He cleared his throat and gave another quick unsure glance to the pair, before finishing the conversation they were previously having.
"How does a walk sound?" He asked with a smile. "I need some fresh air."

“It sounds great to me. A little fresh air will do me good too. Too much too fast. I’m embarrassed to admit it.” Kyle chuckled.

Ororo Munroe

Storm had arrived in the LaGuardia airport that morning from her trip to visit a few friends of the X-men. She caught a cab to the X-mansion eager to surprise Charles, Erik and the others. She unlocked the front door and was greeted with the familiar sights and sounds of students. She could hear the commotion in the kitchen, so she placed her bags down and walked toward the kitchen with a curious tilt of her head. She smiled the whole way there. She quietly entered the doorway to the kitchen as Kyle and Jonathan were just reaching the doorway to head out.

“Ah, Hi there Kyle, or should I say Marvel Boy?” Ororo said pleasantly with a smile.

“STORM!!” Kyle exclaimed. “That was a really long Holiday you took.” Kyle added.

“Yes, a much needed one. Northstar sends his love Kyle.” Storm replied casually. “Jonathan, have you grown taller now?” Storm asked as she had as she embraced him, being sure not to touch his exposed skin.

“Oh! You went to see Jean-Paul?! No wonder you didn’t want to leave. I wouldn’t have either.” Kyle replied with a smirk. Kyle had the biggest crush on Northstar. It was Northstar who was responsible for Kyle’s referral to the Xavier Institute.

“I didn’t say I didn’t want to come home. I could never stay away from here. Besides Jean-Paul isn’t the only one I went to see. I also met up with Dazzler and Gambit. Everyone they send their love.” Storm said with a gentle smile.

Hideki was so excited about Storm having met up with Dazzler. She was like another mentor for him, in different ways than Logan was. Like Dazzler, Hideki shared many of the same light based abilities but his were plasmatic in nature rather than only light. Dazzler had taught him a few things on her visit to the mansion some time ago. They also shared common ground as they were both popular singers. Hideki loved the Disco Dazzler.

“Storm noticed Jean among the usual crowd. Jean had left before Storm had took her holiday and she hadn’t expected to see Jean back so soon. She was very glad that Jean looked well. ”Jean! I didn’t expect you back so soon!! I’m so glad, and I’m sure Scott is too.”

Jean rushed over and gave Ororo a big hug. Scott smiled proudly at Storm’s comments. “It’s great to have you back Storm.” Scott said as he as well gave Storm a hug. Storm was like another family member of his. Her not being around was like having a sister not present at home. He was always concerned and waiting for her safe return so that things would be as they should at home.

Logan couldn’t retain his smile, “Ororo it’s about time.” Logan said trying to mask the excitement in his voice.

“I missed you a lot Logan.” Storm replied as she walked over to him and hugged him.

Vincent approached Strom and embraced her. “You always could sneak up on me. My telepathy never works well with you. I tricked myself into believing that I would have been able to sense when you were going to arrive home.”

“I guess I win then.” Strom giggled. “You’ve been treating Philip well I assume?”

“Yes, considering how much of a trouble maker he is.” Vincent replied while looking Philip up and down with a smirk.

“Shut-up
Vince.” Philip replied trying to contain his snickering. “Hi Storm.” He added.

Storm greeted the others warmly and then looked about to see a few unexpected faces, Sabertooth, David North, Agent six, as well as a few new faces. “Well, well, it seems I’ve missed a lot.” She said as she placed her hands on her hips.

“Yeah
There’s a lot we’ve got to get you caught up on Ororo.” Logan said. An explanation followed.

Keith raised an eybrow in question when Niles questioned how long his fortune would last. The guy really looked stressed out. “By the way, your secret is safe with me Keith as it is the same as the secret I’m keeping, or at least was keeping up until moments before I bumped into you.” The man said sitting on one of the nearby benches.

"What happened? I'm guessing it might have something to do with you're secret huh?" Keith asked slouching beside him.

“I’ve just been blackmailed and set up by a rival in business. He gave my name to the HMR and they will most likely lock me away. No one will want to do business with a mutant, he said. He might be right. I’m finished, so Keith I don’t think it would be good for you to get involved with me.”

Keith looked up at the sky and simply let out an 'Oh', almost as if he didn't get enough reason not to be involved. Though from one standpoint it would probably seem as if he didn't care. The next words from Niles mouth gave him more of a sense of excitement. So I can’t ask you to help me with my plan.”

Keith chuckled into a fit of laughter as he stood up and hooted for his good luck. He only caught enough of what Niles said to register that violence would be involved and based on the setting of the actions, it was probably going to be illegal. He turned around grinning the way a kid grins before playing a new video game. "Sounds fun. I don't mind joining you on this escapade if you like. No in fact I'd be kind of bummed out if you didn't. When it comes to destroying things like buildings and such, I'm sort of a demolition guru. Though I can't say people wont get hurt. Hehehe. So what's the plan boss? Are we just going to walk into the place and let loose? Or are we going to fall from the sky like wrecking balls?" With his mind made up, Keith was determined to get in on some of the action. If the man didn't want him to help then it was already too late. By the time Niles spoke, Keith had made up his mind to stalk him for awhile to see what interesting things might happen around him.

Vincent Xavier, Philip Klein

Vincent stood awaiting Ryan’s answer however before Ryan replied his mind spoke leagues before his mouth did. Vincent had not intended to read Ryan’s mind but it was as if Ryan’s extreme emotions yelled to be heard without Ryan’s approval or knowledge.

Instead of feeling relieved, Ryan stiffened. Vincent hadn't sounded caring to Ryan, he had sounded condescending and uninterested. Ryan felt such anger with Vincent. His turbulent thoughts raced back to the situation in the kitchen. Where was this concern when Terra and Canaan walked through the door?! Ryan thought furiously. His mind was screaming at him and at Vincent. Ryan felt so betrayed. Vincent didn't want to be on Ryan's side when everyone else was around, but now, now that it was convenient, after someone else had probably pestered him, now Vincent was reaching out to him? Ryan felt disgusted, not only with Vincent, but with himself. Vincent was his brother. Vincent loved him. He had since he'd met Ryan nearly eleven years ago when Ryan had first moved into the Mansion when Ryan was six years old. The two had grown up together. Why would Ryan ever feel like he couldn't trust Vincent? What was some piddly little argument between brothers such as they? Why couldn't Ryan forgive him? It's not like it really mattered to Vincent anyway. The last time Ryan had brought these worries to him, Vincent had shrugged them off. The last time they spoke privately, though the larger concern was Ryan's ability to transform, they'd gotten completely sidetracked by the idea of Ryan possessing a human form. Though Ryan was grateful for that, it hadn't been what he'd wanted to discuss in the first place. Even more frustrating, they had been interrupted by Ace's Shadows before Ryan had a chance to talk to Vincent about his more pressing concerns, namely, the Leviathan.

Vincent was suddenly hit with a rush of emotions coming from Ryan. He felt a sudden pang in his heart. ‘Whoa
what’s all of this rage and anger?’ Vincent thought to himself. However, before Vincent could address the sudden rush of emotion that shot through him like a bullet through the heart, Ryan would soon give his reply.

Ryan sighed, looking up into his brother's eyes, his golden pupils glinting in the low light. Did Vincent even want to know? If so, why should Ryan tell him? "I'm fine Vince." Ryan lied effortlessly, a toothy grin on his face. "I was just a bit... surprised. I mean, come on, the last time I saw Terra we tried to kill each other. You trying to tell me Logan and Sabertooth, who hate each other, don't have minor scuffles from time to time?" Ryan's logic was sound, his facial expression was completely calm, even relaxed. So, where was this coming from? This calm, collected, effortless lying? Ryan never lied, let alone to Vincent, and yet, he couldn't stop. "I'm fine now. Terra lives here now. Just like me, this is his home. Who am I to refute that? Besides, just because we've fought in the past doesn't mean we have to be enemies forever. That's not conducive to anything productive at all. I just didn't know he'd come here on invitation. You should tell me stuff like that!" Ryan joked. Smiling, he even managed to laugh lightheartedly. Playfully, he punched Vincent on the shoulder. "I appreciate your concern Vince, really, my brother, I do. That being said, I'm fine. See?" Ryan finished his question with a smile, he even did a little twirl so as to facilitate a quick once over on Vincent's part. That smile of his, was his famous smile, toothy and white. It was a smile that refuted all argumentation. It was a smile that closed the subject, if only for a little while.

Vincent’s gentle smile increasingly became sorrowful. Vincent couldn’t believe that Ryan felt so hurt and upset with him. Ryan was now lying something that was quite foreign to him. Ryan no longer trusted Vincent, which hurt Vincent more than he could express. Ryan was battling with something big and Vincent was being barred from helping him. It seems that Vincent completely misconstrued Vincent’s concerns when they had previously talked during the shadow crisis. Vince tried very hard to keep from looking as destroyed emotionally as he felt.

Ryan turned on his heel and walked back to the kitchen, waving to Vincent as he left. "Thanks Vince," Ryan said jovially as he left. "I'm just fine. I promise."

Vincent watched Ryan depart and he simply stared in silence, trying to wrap his head around all that was going on with Ryan. Philip left the Kitchen in search of Vincent and he eventually found him standing alone in the hallway. Philip had passed Ryan along the way and simply gave Ryan a jovial smile and a casual wave as he passed him. Philip had tried not to make too much of what had happened with Ryan in the kitchen. He wasn’t a fan of being overbearingly worried. He knew things had to run their course, but he also desired for Ryan to know that he was there for him in whatever capacity he needed.

Vincent seemed highly saddened. Philip approached him and placed his hand on Vincent’s arm. “Hey Vince, what’s the matter? You look like you’ve lost a child or something.” Philip said jokingly. Humor was his way of lightening a dark mood.

Vincent looked up with weepy eyes. “Ryan
he’s so hurt and angry right now. I don’t know how to help him. It hurts so much to see him that way. I was concerned when he was so enraged in the kitchen, it wasn’t like him to be so vicious, so I asked if he was alright. However I got a huge hunk of his mind right before he responded
and it was so angry, all the thoughts he had of me. He doesn’t trust me, or much of anyone else right now. He’s struggling with something he calls the Leviathan yet he wouldn’t tell me about it.” Vincent said with a depressed voice.

Philip pulled Vincent close and replied ”He still loves and needs his big brother. Maybe there was a lot more happening in the kitchen than we realized.” Vincent shed a few tears quietly and just as quickly attempted to pull himself together. He stepped back from Philip.

“Thanks Philip. I needed to hear that. You’re my hero you know.” Vincent replied as he wiped away the tears that had previously fallen. A smile began to return to Vincent’s face.

“Ryan simply needs time to remember the love that never left him. He will in the right timing. He might push us away now but it doesn’t mean we leave him. We simply give a little space and an open doorway to the home he has in our hearts. So this Leviathan
is it like the Phoenix?” Philip asked.

Vince pondered for a moment. “No I don’t think it’s quite the same. Jean’s power took on an alternate persona thus creating the Phoenix. This is different. I think this is more physiological in nature, but Ryan’s mind seems to be personifying some physical phenomenon. I won’t know for sure until I can speak with Ryan regarding what’s going on.”

Philip replied with a smile. ”Ryan is strong and a good kid. He’ll pull through this. We’re all here to help him. No worries Vince. Come on let’s go check on my father in law. He’s been missing all morning.” Philip gave a silly grin. It was true, the professor had been missing all that morning which was unusual.

“Yet another very good point.” Vincent replied. “He’s probably locked himself away with Cerebro again.” Vincent replied. He was feeling a little better but Ryan still worried him.

Frenzy and Stinger

You certainly can love! I's great to see a fellow mutants knocking about this place! Say, don't suppose either of you could point me in the direction of Charles Xavier's institution for Higher Learning? I was hoping I could have a chat with the fella.", Robert replied cheerfully .

Frenzy and Stinger looked at one another in surprise. Frenzy turned to the man and replied, “You’re in luck sir. We happen to reside there at the moment.” She turned her head to look at Stinger briefly, “In fact, we’re going home right now.” This was the perfect chance for her to put a stop to Stinger’s shopping spree. Turning her head back to the man she smiled pleasantly. “If you don’t mind coming with us, we can show you the way. I’m Joanna Cargill, by the way. This is Wendy Sherman. I go by the codename Frenzy.”

Wendy cut in adding, “I go by the name Stinger, due to my electrifying skill set. So what might your name be mister tourist?” She asked. Wendy was very curious about this guy’s powers. After obtaining the man’s name Wendy asked, “So what is it that you do, power wise that is?”

Joanna hailed a cab and the three were off to the X-mansion. They arrived and entered the front door. Joanna said to Robert. “If you don’t mind with Stinger while I find the professor, it shouldn’t take long.” Joanna then turned to Stinger, “Please behave Wendy.” She said knowing how Stinger had the tendency to cause trouble.

“What am I gonna do?! I mean really Jo
!” Wendy replied as she folded her arms and rolled her eyes. After Joanna headed down the hallway, Wendy turned to Robert and spoke with an upbeat tone. “So, let’s go meet the X-men shall we? They’re a really tacky bunch but interesting nonetheless.” She liked to poke fun at the X-men.

They entered the kitchen where most people were gathered. David looked up and immediately poked fun at Wendy. “Well if it isn’t Static Cling. I see you’ve picked up a sugar daddy.”

Wendy immediately frowned in sheer annoyance of David. “Shouldn’t you be off getting plowed by Sabertooth or chasing after girls leagues younger than yourself?” She rebutted with a rather satisfied smile on her face.

David gave a sarcastic smile and looked over apologetically to Memory. Sabertooth, however, interjected. “Now now Wendy. Let’s not be a jealous and bitter old biddy. Besides I’ve heard more than my share of bickering today.”

Stinger was about to respond when Scott stepped forward toward Robert. “He there. Sorry about those two. I’m Scott Summers of the X-men. What brings you here.” Scott introduced himself in a friendly manner.

Niles Cranston

Keith chuckled into a fit of laughter as he stood up and hooted for his good luck. He turned around grinning the way a kid grins before playing a new video game. "Sounds fun. I don't mind joining you on this escapade if you like. No in fact I'd be kind of bummed out if you didn't. When it comes to destroying things like buildings and such, I'm sort of a demolition guru. Though I can't say people won’t get hurt. Hehehe. So what's the plan boss? Are we just going to walk into the place and let loose? Or are we going to fall from the sky like wrecking balls?"

Niles looked over at Keith and smiled lightheartedly. He was inspired by Keith’s energy. “Boss huh? Okay then, I guess there’s no stopping you from helping me. I do like the element of surprise. I’m sure they have guns or something to stop us with. But I’ve got my defenses. Sounds like you’ve got your offense covered. So you know, I can create explosive diamonds and control them at will. It seems that between you and me we’ve got a lot of firepower so we should be good. Let’s fall from the sky like wrecking balls. I like the sound of that.”

Niles created a platform of crystal and the two stood on top of it. He levitated the platform high into the sky above the building. Looking down at the roof of the building Niles spoke. “I can blast an opening for us an lower us down, or do you have another plan?”

Oliver Cassidy and Erika

Erika face twisted into anger, but then smoothed just as quick. A gun firing was all the push she needed. Erika drew in breath and let her power lace her voice with poison, the words corrupting the minds of those around her into doing her bidding.
"Please," she called looking to the side, her voice distorting into something sinister, but soothing, "won't anyone help us? Won't you save us?" Four terrified people around her suddenly stiffened and lifted their head to the ceiling as if given an electric shock, then ran forwards in front of the two of them shouting to the guards to not hurt those "innocent people".

Just as a gun was fired, an overweight and balding man in a suit ran in front of Erika, then dropped. Blood seeped from the bullet hole in his chest. She looked down at his body, hands shaking. This was the first time her power had ever been used to kill someone. She pulled her eyes away reluctantly to the office workers making a wall between the two mutants and the guards aiming their way.

Oliver was impressed with Erika’s power. However he did not foresee the particular mechanics of it limiting its effects. When the hypnotized man took the bullet and died it did indeed shock Oliver. He felt somewhat sorry for the guy but he’d rather it be that man than himself.

"Have any kind of plan?" She asked Oliver over the calling of the people she had manipulated. "This was your fault after all," she finished with obvious venom.

“Don’t you worry Ms. Seems we’re lucky to have run into each other. I can allow you to control this whole room. Give me a second.” Oliver said with a wink. Oliver looked up to the ceiling and concentrated. Thick vines broke through the ceiling and formed a sort of patrician between them and the security men. The vines quickly sprouted flowers of a strange sort. They opened and the air filled with spores. These spores were littered with pheromones. “Try your power now. Anyone weak willed and nearby should be all yours to control. Hell, we’d probably be able to simply walk out of here.” Oliver said with a confident smile. “I’m Oliver Cassidy. Thanks for helping me. I really didn’t mean for any of this to happen but I don’t handle being tricked very well.”

The building suffered massively from the plants exponential growth. More of the spore emanating flowers grew outside the building and more citizens were inhaling the pheromone spores. They began to head into the HMR building as Erika called to them.

Kyle Jean-Claude

Kyle looked around and noticed that Jonathan had suddenly left the kitchen. He was curious as to what had come up. He stepped toward the door to find Jonathan however Hideki grabbed Kyle’s arm and spun him around to face him. “I can’t believe you Kyle! Both Colossus and Jonathan?! You’re a total slut you know.” Hideki fussed.

Kyle rolled his eyes at the fussy Japanese boy. “I am no slut. I am simply flirting with Jonathan. Besides Piotr and I are in an open relationship. I haven’t cheated on anyone nor am I going to. You’re just annoyed because you’ve bot not shot with Logan. Too bad you’re not a cute Japanese girl instead of a cute Japanese boy.” Kyle taunted his friend.

“Hey! I’ll show you cute!!” Hideki huffed and created a bright flash of light that stunned Kyle’s vision.

Kyle flinched and rubbed his eyes wildly. ”AAHH! I HATE when you do that!! Ah
”

Hideki huffed, “Serves you right.” He noticed Ryan had returned. Hideki was very concerned about his friend. He walked away from Kyle who was still struggling to see, and approached Ryan. “Hey Ryan, are you okay? I was a bit worried about you earlier. If you ever want to talk about anything I’m here for you. I’m not all knowing like Professor X but I think a friend with a good listening ear can help just as much. If the two new guys to the mansion are trouble, I’ll take your word for it and be watchful. Honestly I didn’t know Cain had invited them here either.”

Piotr Rasputin

Piotr watched all that happened in the kitchen. He liked how eventful the X-mansion was. There was so much life there. However he did miss Russia, his original home. He looked over to Cara who was also from Russia, giving a smile he decided to chat with her a bit. He walked over to her and smiled “Morning Conrad Black.” He said with a chuckle. He knew she would appreciate the joke. Being around her made him feel slightly closer to home. “You’re very noble for speaking your heart without reservation. I admire that about you Cara.” He said in a more thought filled and pondering tone.

“I can blast an opening for us an lower us down, or do you have another plan?” Niles said above Keith. Of course many of the walking pedestrians were stopping and taking pictures while a few began hastily walking off in the opposite direction of where they once stood. This made the boy chuckle at the thought. The thought of having an audience that was. He liked people to watch him in action. He also liked seeing their reactions to his power.

Stretching out his right arm he snapped his fingers in the direction of an empty patch of sidewalk. On cue, a line appeared, almost as if it had dented the concrete before the whole patch of sidewalk began crumbling almost to a nearby persons feet. On the instant it stopped the concrete imploded before disappearing and swirling in many particles which traveled towards Keiths outstretched arm. His bowl cut hair raised and turned from brown to a dark shade of red. His red lit up gold and his arm split into three. Light separated the division and the particles created gold rings around his arm to somewhat close the gap. After that, the rest of the particles rested on his whole arm and fused into an orange, gold, and red gauntlet that left his hand looking like a lions paw. Clenching his fist, he forcefully brought his hand to his face before the last of the particles created three talon like objects on his back. While all of this happened his own life force created a dim light that surrounded his whole body and picked up wind that pulsed his clothing. However, once his transformation was complete, the light vanished.

All this time Keith had been oblivious to the uproar of panic he had started. The civilians, besides a few that wanted a new video for their own vlog and some young teens who were gawking at the sight had all started running in all various directions. Keith flashed a grin that looked more like a diabolical smile than anything at this. He loved disturbing the piece as he had learned the phrase behind it a long time ago. It was fun. At least for him. He raised his fist high in the air before slamming it down on the ground, punching the concrete before his feet with all his might, not only causing a fissure the ground beneath and causing a small quake in the area, but launching him in the air at the same time. He flew up in the air like a human cannon, shooting past Niles before slowly stopping his ascension and begging his decent. "I think I'll just smash the rooftop!" Keith yelled as he passed the man and flew downwards with his arm in front of him. The sound was explosive upon his impact. Upon contact the only thing that could be seen was dubree and smoke created by the dust of friction. It was almost as if a missile had just hit the building without the fire. Keith had been left in a kneeling position and stood himself up, his arm hanging down. He looked around and saw that he had caused a few people in the building to be thrown the opposite directions of him, but as far as he could tell, no one was dead. At least not yet.

Looking towards Niles as the dust cleared up, he yelled over the now apparent screams of those around them. "So what's next? Are we going to just destroy the building, or are these people fair game as well?" He rose his hand curling it into a fist and aimed it towards a random nobody who was hugging the corner while breathing heavily.

Piotr Rasputin

Cara’s smile receded back to a small upturn on one side but she did not seem to shift from her good mood. “Perhaps but it has not made me the most popular girl in the mansion.” She said gesturing at the others in the kitchen. “I have fought with almost all of the people in this room at some point in my life and those I haven’t are those that are either too young to have seen the battles between Magneto and Xavier or didn’t join until after I came here.” She took a sip of her coffee before continuing. “I am not welcome here Piotr and as every day goes past there are times when I wish I wasn’t rescued that day.” She had turned more solemn now, her coffee once more occupying her thoughts. “I was not meant to be one of the X-men.”

Piotr listened, his smile fading into a sadder expression. He was a little pained to know that the X-men had not shown Cara the sort of kindness that he had received. He had a realization that it is difficult for even the noble X-men to break bread and forgive their once enemies. It was a testament that guests such as Victor, David, Stinger, Frenzy, Agent Six, and Pietro weren’t hitting many bumps in the road when it came to being around the X-men.

Piotr replied with a gentle smile, “You and I have fought before and I have no ill feeling towards you Cara. You are my friend. You fought us because it was the right thing for you to do at the time. I fought you because fate put us at odds. I never considered you my enemy though, it was the cause that I fought. We may not always agree on causes but I think we can agree that you and I can be friends no matter what divides us. You will always be a part of the X-men. I believe some of the others would feel an emptiness somewhere in their hearts if you left. I would.” Piotr spoke sincerely.

Piotr knew that Cara knew how it felt to be on her own. He knew how that felt as well. He had his sister who lived back in Russia. He lived to provide for her, but now that she is a young woman able to look after herself, he was free to look solely after himself. He joined with the X-men full time to fill that void, to help others as his nature spurred him to do. However Piotr feared that Cara’s isolation came for reasons entirely different from his. Cara could use someone to hold onto her, someone to let her know that she was at home, at peace. Piotr placed his hand gently on Cara’s shoulder.

The Kitchen

Scott listened as the guest replied. "The names Robert Ashdown, nice to meet ya Scott, and it's no problem, all folks argue after a bit. After all i'm British, we enjoy taking the mickey out of each-other. Anyways, i'm here to meet with the professor, Charles Xavier. I'm just nosy tourist is all,and proud mutant like the rest of you bunch! Just hoping to just, well, talk about how to get through everyday life round stranger that hate you."

He looked into the distance for a few moments before snapping out of it and asking; "So which X-man are you, eh? Let me guess, the fella with the lazer eyes?"

Scott looked a bit surprised. “Why uh
yes. I am. I didn’t know that I was known publicly.” Jean snickered nearby at Scott’s reaction. He was displaying a shyness that was rare to see on him.

Logan stepped forward and flashed a casual smile as he introduced himself. “Welcome, I’m Logan. So you’re English huh? You should enjoy chatting with the ‘Novelist’ over there. He’s from around your neck of the woods.” Logan said as he nodded toward Aiden O’doherty.

Aidan replied in an annoyed fashion. “It’s ‘The Author
’ and you should be nicer to be lest I bring 1,000 tons of gravity down on that spectacular adamantium skeleton of yours.” Aidan wasn’t the one to be mocked without consequence.

Victor stood in the kitchen and picked up a fresh apple that sat on the counter in a pile. There were several of them. He took a clean bite from it as he scanned the room. He noticed Logan had not ceased to watch him the whole time as if Victor was going to spontaneously attack someone. He snickered to himself at the fact that Logan couldn’t get over his trained inclination to ever be on watch when Victor was around. Victor looked over to David who seemed to be watching Ryan and Memory. It seemed that Ryan was definitely not North’s biggest fan. Victor subdued his own grin as he watched North pick up on Ryan’s unspoken tension toward him. North hadn’t uttered a word since his spat with Wendy but Victor knew him more than well enough to know when that man was deep in his thought processes.

Victor stepped closer behind North and whispered casually into his ear. “He’s only a kid. Besides you were trying to do the ‘noble’ thing and not fuck around with the little hottie. Don’t go back on your word now. I might think less of you.” Victor then took another bite of the green apple.

David turned partially with a rather sarcastic smirk. “I do Not go back on my word.” David replied his voice slick and cold as black ice. His disposition lightened just as quickly as it was darkened. “Don’t worry your handsome mug about it.”

Soon Jenifer tapped Victor on the shoulder to which he turned around slowly. He saw the young lady had caught the attention of the tourist. "I need to talk to you, by the way." She said as she turned back to him.

Victor smirked a little. “Sure blondie. I’m here when you’re free.” Victor figured that she wanted to discuss her little sister. He wasn’t sure exactly what she was going to say. He wasn’t really worried though. He supposed that he would tell her that Annabelle was simply in good hands.

Niles Cranston

Looking towards Niles as the dust cleared up, he yelled over the now apparent screams of those around them. "So what's next? Are we going to just destroy the building, or are these people fair game as well?" He rose his hand curling it into a fist and aimed it towards a random nobody who was hugging the corner while breathing heavily.

Niles looked around at the damage the one attack caused. “Wow
he really is a wrecking ball huh?” Niles thought to himself. “Only attack people if they are hostile. If they’re not, don’t hurt them. I just want to send a message not become a mass murderer. The building is our target.” Niles said to Keith. He formed several large floating and sharp crystals that launched into the walls and soon exploded causing the wall to be destroyed and part of the building structure collapsed.

Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto

Charles received a almost panicked transmission from cerebro. There were several mutant attacks about the city. The general public was in danger. Six sites were urgently in need of interference from the X-men. Charles turned to Magneto who stood behind him. “Erik
we must assemble the X-men at once! Mutants become so panicked that they have begun to attack several of the HMR sites. It seems the government’s recent moves have caused serious uproar.” Charles carried a look of worry as he knew that this was only the beginning of a long and difficult path for everyone.

Before Erik could respond, Vincent and Philip entered the Cerebro chamber. “Ah, there you two are! I knew you would have locked yourself away in here
Philip was worried. He’s such an awesome in law don’t you think? Oh, and Ororo has returned home! I was so surprised to see her! It’s always so tricky to telepathically sense her presence.” Vincent said in an obliviously upbeat manner as he entered the chamber with Philip. But he could feel the tension immediately afterward. “Wait, what’s the matter?” he asked. Erik turned around slowly with a heavy disposition. He was quite frustrated with the constant struggle for peace with mankind. So much effort only to hit so many setbacks. Erik explained the situation to Vincent and Philip.

Frenzy knocked on the Cerebro Chamber’s doors and entered upon their opening. “Good Morning Professor Xavier, Mr. Lehnsherr, Vincent, Philip. I hope I’m not interrupting anything important. This morning Wendy and I met a mutant from out of town. He wanted to meet you Professor, so we brought him here. I hope it’s not too much of an inconvenience.” Frenzy spoke politely. She wanted to give Charles and Erik a good impression of her. She took joining the X-men seriously and wanted to let them know that she respected them honestly and was appreciative for being accepted.

“Actually it seems my meeting with our guest will be brief and under unfortunate circumstances this time. There is trouble that needs the X-men’s assistance in quelling. I will have to assemble as many of us that are able and willing to assist. I am most grateful that Ororo has returned when she did. Joanna can I count on you as well? The X-men would greatly benefit from your strength and wisdom.” Charles replied.

Frenzy was pleasantly surprised that he asked her personally to help the X-men. “You and the X-men will always have my assistance. You need not ask in the future Professor X.” Frenzy replied with a proud smile.

Erik placed a hand on Vincent’s shoulder, “We must make haste. Things are getting worse with every passing moment.” They all headed toward the kitchen.

Professor X, Magneto, Vincent, Philip, and Frenzy entered the kitchen where most of the X-men and guests were gathered. Charles walked over to Robert and with a pleasant smile. “Welcome Mr. Ashdown. I am Charles Xavier, and this is Erik Lehnsherr. Welcome to the Xavier School for the Gifted. I would like to continue our meeting at length however my attention is needed elsewhere at the moment. You are welcome to remain here, or if you wouldn’t mind lending a hand in the matter that would be greatly appreciated.”

Xavier turned toward storm and greeted her with a bright smile, “Welcome back Ororo. We’ve missed you.” Charles wanted to say more but it would have to wait.

Erik spoke for all in the kitchen to hear, Charles telepathically transmitted Erik’s message to the minds of all that were in the mansion and not present in the kitchen. “X-men, friends, and guests, we are in great need of assistance. There are currently six attacks on HMR sites across the city. We shall intervene at once.”

Aidan smirked “Oh Charles what would you do without my help? I’ll lend you a capable hand if I must.” He said with his usual haughty disposition.

Erik rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed by Aidan’s disposition. After obtaining a commitment from some of those that weren’t X-men Magneto announced the team formations and leaders. “The six teams are as follows. Team one shall consist of Memory, Canaan, Logan, Quicksilver, Agent Six, Annabelle, Philip Klein, Hideki Matsuzaka, Jean Grey and Myself. Team leaders of this group shall be Memory and Philip.” Erik took a moment to give the Memory and Philip a reassuring smile as he knew they were surprised by their positions as leaders.

Erik continued, “Team two shall consist of Johnathan, Cara, Aidan O'Doherty, Kent Van-Pelt, and Frenzy. Jonathan you are the team leader of team two. You are more than a capable leader Jonathan.” Magneto encouraged Jonathan. He then turned to Aidan and spoke, “O’Doherty, I expect you to give Jonathan your full support and cooperation.”

Aidan flashed a sharp smile, “But of course. Don’t let me down Jonathan.” Aidan replied. He and Magneto never ceased to butt heads.

Erik announced team three. “Team three will consist of Terra, Ryan, David North/ Agent Zero, Vincent Xavier, and Colossus. The team leaders are Terra and Ryan. I expect you two to work in synch. You should do well.” Magneto gave a look of confidence to Terra and Ryan. He was fully aware of the group dynamics and was eager to test them.

David looked on with a smug expression. “What a motley crew we make, eh Xavier?” David said to Vincent with an amused disposition.

Vincent smiled just the same, “Indeed, I still haven’t gotten over your trying to shoot me that time. Not to mention you kidnapping me.” Vincent said jokingly.

David snickered, “Yeah
I haven’t gotten over the fact that you survived my shooting at you. Yet alone escaping Weapon-X. Then again, that part wasn’t on me.” David and Vincent began to laugh with one another, an odd scene to those who hadn’t seen darker side of Vincent’s humor.

Magneto continued with the team assignments,” Cain, Fuyumi, Ace, Mutt Ant, and Kyle, shall comprise team five. Cain shall lead this team.” Magneto simply gave Cain a proud nod and continued to announce the final team. “Team six shall consist of Jennifer, Stinger, Scott, Sabertooth, and Storm, with Scott as the leader.”

Sabertooth turned to Jenifer with his usual smug disposition, “I guess our little chat is really going to have to wait, unless we take it on the road seeing as how we are in the same team.”

Magneto spoke to Robert, "You are more than welcome to join any team Mr. Ashdown, if you so choose to assist us. We could use your talents.” Magneto said in a friendly manner. The groups departed the mansion in smaller jets, one per team, bound for the attack sites. Professor X remained behind to monitor the situation using Cerebro and to give advice.

Terra, Ryan, David North/ Agent Zero, Vincent Xavier, Colossus

As Ryan spoke, he illustrated what he meant by sliding the tip of his finger across the map along the side of the building. "The more we can keep the mutants contained within this building the better. I'd hate to see innocent people get involved, but that location is just full of exits and entrances. To maintain control in such a situation will take all our focus, there won't be many opportunities to correct any accidents or mistakes, so stay sharp. Our first priority will be to evacuate any innocent civilians. I'd like it if Piotr and Vincent would facilitate that. Vincent really is the best suited to find whoever might be trapped or unable to escape, that being said, I don't want anyone trying to do anything solo, getting caught off guard and picked off is the last thing I want. Therefore, with Piotr there to help and to protect you, Vince, you should be able to evacuate any bystanders without getting caught in any possible crossfire. My next priority was to try and keep damage to the HMR building to a minimum, to prevent media backlash, but I don't think we're gonna have much choice, whatever happens is gonna happen." Ryan finished.

Vincent smiled proudly. He was really excited to see Ryan step up to the plate as a leader. He was practically a natural. Terra seemed to be growing more comfortable as well and with time he too would definitely be more confident a leader. Vince tried not to smile too widely. He didn’t want to embarrass Ryan like some overbearing parent at their child’s recital. With a calm and controlled voice he replied, “Sounds like a solid evacuation plan to me. Piotr and I will make sure not to let you down Ryan.” Piotr nodded in agreement with a simple “Agreed.”

Ryan then continued, "This leads me to the next stage in our plan," preparing to let Terra take the floor, his explanation was almost finished.

Terra interjected briefly in regards to containing the mutants. "I could make a wall to keep them in. Of course we'd have to let the civilians out before I can do that but it might be the best way to keep the mutants inside."

"That being said, Terra thought up most of it, so I can't take credit for all of this." Ryan said, smiling at Terra.

"Terra, David, and myself will then remain in our position between both groups. We chose to have us work together on this because Terra and myself are very capable of protecting our own bodies, at the very least. Further, even without Vincent to relay what's on the minds of all who are present, North is an expert in defusing armed negotiations, whether through force or otherwise. His intuition, coupled with my senses, and Terra's control of our surroundings will be some of our best weapons against hostility.” Ryan said.

David’s facial expression displayed a mixture of surprise and pride as Ryan spoke of his ‘expertise’. “Why, I’m flettered.” He replied proudly. However his proud disposition would soon drop slightly as Ryan continued.

“Although the plan is to try and defuse the situation without violence, I do admit that it is unlikely that everything go entirely peacefully today. If any fighting ensues, I would like all present to attempt to incapacitate their attackers first. You are not to kill unless your own life is in danger." Ryan said, his eyes flashing, and he pounded, though somewhat lightly, on the table for emphasis. Although he knew he wouldn't have to worry about it from Piotr and Vincent, he wanted to be perfectly clear with Terra and David. As much as he wanted to trust them, part of him was still wary of them. He still didn't know what they were capable. "Killing without necessity will not be tolerated. That being said, you are, however, free to use your best judgement and preserve your own life and the lives of the innocent with deadly force, but only if there is no other way around it.”

David’s compliment driven proud smile quickly dropped into a smug smirk. It was a rare sight to see David lacking composure. “Not to worry, I’ll simply opt to aim for their kneecaps instead of their heads and hearts.” David replied while holding his hands up fingers crossed. “Scouts honor.” He added.

“Lastly, be wary of your exits and entrances. Obviously we don't want to trap ourselves with the HMR agents, our targets nowhere to be found, and our backs against the wall. However, if we take any fighting outside, there's simply too great a chance we might get separated from one another or our targets, and that's how good plans go sour real quick. Our aim here is to decisively break up any fighting and resolve the situation as quickly and peacefully as possible." Ryan finished.

"Well we're about to face two mutants. From the information gathered from Cerebro, one of them is Niles Cranston. His mutant ability revolves around creating explosive diamonds. On the other hand this Keith fellow seems to be able to absorb energy and create a sort of amour out of it. We'll probably have to be careful around him." With all that being said it seemed they had finally arrived at their destination.

Piotr commented, “What an interesting duo, by the sound of it.”

Stepping away from the table, Terra wondered how they'd be arriving. Turning to Ryan and the others Terra voiced his concern, "So how exactly are we going to land without brining attention to ourselves?"

Vincent stepped forward slightly, his hands clasped behind his back. “This jet has a cloaking device so we can land on a nearby rooftop and I can levitate us down to the ground without much effort or attention drawn. Is that an acceptable course of action?” Vincent wanted to make sure he refrained from taking the reins. This was Terra and Ryan’s duty to lead him and the others.

Upon investigating the area Vincent saw the massive damage already done to the building. “I never imagined them to have already done so much damage! Look at it all
”

David’s eyes zeroed in on the damage. He spotted Keith through the massive hole in the roof and immediately assembled a sniper rifle remarkably fast. He struck the button to open the hatch of the hovering jet and took aim. Keith was well in his sights.

Vincent grew nervous at the sight of the marksman taking precise aim, looking as if shooting to kill. “We are NOT to kill NORTH!!” Vincent called out through the sound of the jets engines.

David never shifted his focus, not in the slightest. He replied, “I am not shooting to kill. I don’t have the memory of a goldfish Xavier, I know what Ryan said. However, I AM allowed to stop him without killing him and that’s what I intend to do. So shut up and watch.”

Vincent quickly retorted, “We should attempt to reason with them before we attack. We’ll never get them to cooperate with us if you-“

David quickly interrupted, finally breaking his aim on Keith. “You’re not blind to all the damage they are causing! Do they still give the impression that they are open to holding a world peace conference with you?! I sure don’t goddamn think so. Therefore let me neutralize him while we still have the element of surprise.” David rolled his eyes and quickly repositioned for the shot. Vincent was speechless. And before anything else could be said, North fired off a cleanly aimed shot. However Keith’s armor was simply too thick for the bullet to penetrate.

Niles Cranston

Niles turned around quickly at the sound of the sniper shot. He looked up to see the jet floating quietly about the building. “They’ve got reinforcements! I’m going to take that plane down!” Niles said as he stretched his hands out wide and large diamond shards appeared in the air all around him. There were about 20 in number. With a wave of his arms in front of him the diamond charged at the flying jet. The diamonds hit with a loud explosion. Part of the jet’s body was moderately damaged, however fortunately it didn’t hinder it’s ability fly too much.

Vincent took the controls and successfully landed the jet on the neighboring roof.

#, as written by Damioa
Keith grew quickly bored with the screams and fear of the people who were around him. He was sure they would have a mutant attack procedure. Shrugging his shoulders he looked off into the distance, hearing a giant fan or something.

“They've got reinforcements! I’m going to take that plane down!”

Niles seemed a little too quick on the gun for Keith. Though the boy thought maybe he was just nervous, seeing as he didn't seem like the type of guy to partake in destruction of public property, much less a building. Though the next sight in Keiths eyes made them open so wide, you would've thought the boys face would have gotten stuck.

Keith went up to Niles and patted him on the shoulder. "Good job man. Not everyone can say they took down a jet on their first go round. Though next time, make sure it goes boom. Here, I'll show you." Feeling generous, Keith punched the floor with his pawed hand and set off in the air, while also putting a whole in the ground. Almost as if riding a roller coaster, the boy stuck out his tongue out catching wind as he rose and began his decent. The fact that he couldn't hold in his laughter at times like these made him seem like some sort of imp. Though it wasn't like he cared. All he wanted to do was land on the Jet and watch it go boom.

It was right in his sight and at any moment he was sure that he'd be immersed in the fiery blunder of it all. Though when it disappeared from his sight, he wasn't sure what to make of it. Instead was a lower building ledge, but not the one he had thought he'd aim for. In fact, he was sure he aimed at the right building. Keith didn't know what was going on, but he thought that if he just paid attention to the smell, he'd be able to hit the right spot. Once again, he hit his way into the air. Though, this time it seemed he didn't have enough force to reach the building.

Once he knew there was no way to stop, he narrowed his body, diving into the side of the building. Getting his composure, Keith sighed, figuring this was too much work to do for an explosion, hit the ground, and busted through the remaining floors until he was on the roof. It took him a few times and was a literal pain in the back, but once he made it, the sense of triumph he felt. Well, it made him feel generous to say the least.

"Hey!!!" he yelled. "You better get off that plane!!! I'm about to blow it sky high!!!"

To his surprise someone even bothered to step in front of the thing. He stuck his arm out and laughed. Laughed so long he began hacking from the lack of air.

Focusing on going all in to the jet, one of the cartridges on his back disappeared and he was sent flying at the man. He was going so fast, the wind was burning to his eyes. However, those eyes were trained to keep focused on the target and nothing was going to to stop him from reaching it, not even a metal man.

"Wait... Meta, ugh...."

It seemed Keith was halted, only inching forward for a while until the jet on his back ceased discharging energy. He couldn't believe it. There were people who could take on the blunt force of his attack and stop it. He smirked at his halter, and pulled himself back.

"Wow man. That's neat. Wow. For a second my friend thought you were working with these people. I don't really know much, but I heard they don't like mutants, so yeah. Anyway, you guys wanna have the rest of the building. There's plenty to blow up, but I'm kinda bored of that now."

Keiths eyes were inching towards the jet, even though he was sincere. He thought that since they were mutants they'd want to take part in it, or at least watch. It hadn't occurred to him who the people he was around might not be so friendly towards him.

Terra

Terra glanced to Vincent who stepped forwards, hands clasped behind his back. “This jet has a cloaking device so we can land on a nearby rooftop and I can levitate us down to the ground without much effort or attention drawn. Is that an acceptable course of action?” For a moment Terra seemed to be at a loss of words, trying to figure out how to reply to Vincent’s question.

He glanced at Ryan in hopes the mutant would help but he only stared back, making it all the more awkward. “Ah yeah it’s fine, unless we have some other way to get down?” He looked around at the others to see if they caught the hint. Terra looked down at the building, a bit surprised by the amount of damage just a pair of mutants could cause. His thoughts quickly shifted to himself and the damage he was capable of causing. Yeah but I’m not like them.

Suddenly an argument erupted between Vincent and the other guy North. “Be careful North. Once you shoot they’ll know we’re here.” He sent an apologetic look at Vincent but he didn’t really care much. If shooting the guy and immobilizing him prevented any further harm to those around them, then that was the path to go. It seemed his words of caution proved right. Shortly after North fired about 20 large shards of diamond, he guessed, were fired at the jet. Thankfully it didn’t hinder their ability to stay in the sky since Vincent was able to land them safely to the ground.

Checking to see the mutants in the building, they all saw a figure jump out of the building or rather they seemed to have been launched out by something. His vision wasn’t like Canaan’s so he couldn’t tell who it was exactly but it was definitely one of the mutants they were sent to capture. Now that the landing was cleared, Piotr quickly stepped outside to deal with the fellow who screamed at them to get out. Terra didn’t like the idea of being blasted sky high.

The Piotr was actually able to hold off the mutant who wore armor, so it was obviously the Keith fellow. Terra stepped out of the plane with the rest of the group. He made sure to be cautious but he knew there wasn’t really much he could do so high up from the ground. "Wow man. That's neat. Wow. For a second my friend thought you were working with these people. I don't really know much, but I heard they don't like mutants, so yeah. Anyway, you guys wanna have the rest of the building. There's plenty to blow up, but I'm kinda bored of that now.”

The young man certainly was surprised. He hadn’t expected this sort of response from the kid. Glancing at Ryan and then at Vincent, Terra stepped forwards, passing Piotr to get to the kid. As he walked towards Keith a sort of anger began to rise up inside of him. The kid said he was bored, he even had the nerve to say they could have the rest of the building as if it were all just a game. Finally Terra stood right in front of the kid, a bit too close probably but it was so his height could be used for intimidation. “You think this is a game? Do you know how many lives you’ve put in danger?”

Grabbing the front of Keith’s shirt, Terra glared down at him, losing his usual calm façade. “We didn’t come here to help you idiot. We came here to stop you. All you’re doing is making the rest of us look bad and you wonder why they all want us restricted!” His tone reached a rather threatening level and upon realization, Terra let Keith go. He turned to Vincent, “Can you take us down there?” He wasn’t sure what they’d do with Keith now that they had him, well sort of.

Ryan was, for the most part, relatively pleased with himself. He had presented his plan without incident, and even though there were some rough parts, Ryan felt pretty good about everything. The ship's cloaking device would make for an easy, and better yet, surreptitious landing and all that was left would be for Ryan and his squad to snap into action. Then, as it always seemed to do, everything went sour. As they approached the building, it seemed their targets had wasted no time in trying their very best to reduce everything within a three block radius to rubble. The building was slowly crumbling, and Ryan had to keep himself from growling with anger. Diplomacy, it seemed, would not be their strongest weapon.

While Ryan was still planning on avoiding any and all fighting, he begrudgingly prepared himself to do battle. A low growl rumbled in his chest, and Ryan felt his tail swish impatiently. He stretched lightly as their jet circled the building during their descent, and Ryan allowed his scales to grow just a little bit thicker. The Leviathan within him seemed to be itching for battle, thirsty for blood, and ready to erupt from Ryan's maw like a mighty roar. It was only by witnessing the carnage before him that Ryan seemed to calm down, and remember their purpose. They were here to save lives. Ryan wouldn't allow the Leviathen within him to do as he pleased. That being said, Ryan couldn't help but scowl as he witnessed the destruction wrought before him. "Damn..." Ryan whispered to himself.

However, Ryan's introspection was cut short. As they approached, Ryan watched in silence as David quickly and skillfully assembled a sniper rifle and scouted the situation. As David's finger carefully began to squeeze the trigger, Ryan growled unconsciously; a warning. Ryan knew that if David was going to aim at something, he wouldn't miss, that being said, it was still somewhat unnerving to watch. Even the slightest misstep on David's part would lead to the death of that mutant, and Ryan knew it. That being said, Ryan wanted to trust David, and he was, at the very least, confident in North's abilities. Vincent, however, wasn't impressed. He and David got into a spat that slowly became more about ethics than the mission at hand. Strangely, Ryan felt somewhat aloof to the whole thing, as if he weren't even watching it happen. It was only after the deafening crack of sniper fire that Ryan seemed to snap out of his reverie. His golden eyes focused in on North. Calmly, Ryan stepped between David and Vincent, placing a scaly hand on his brother's shoulder. He squeezed gently, reassuring. As Ryan spoke, his tone was stern. He didn't mean to be harsh, but there was a certain amount of resignation to his words. Ryan didn't want to just bust in there, guns blazing, however, he didn't want to just lie down and take it with a smile while two unknown mutants hurt his family, friends, and innocent civilians.

"Unfortunately, David is right." Ryan started. After a brief sigh, he continued. "Look at what they've done, Vincent. In their anger and hate, they blew up a building before we even got here. We can't expect that they won't attempt to kill us. Further, they need to make amends for what they've done, and I'm guessing that they won't be too keen on kowtowing to the HMR. After all, they've gone this far. We can't afford to believe that they share the professor's vision. Not in this situation anyway. Don't get me wrong, I still think that we can work this out where everyone goes home after this, so let's try our best to make that happen." Ryan finished with a smile. Ryan leaned forward, putting his forehead on Vincent's. In a hushed tone, with words just for Vincent, Ryan whispered, "I can do this. Let me handle it." When he finished, Ryan looked up at Vincent and smiled warmly. With that smile, Ryan tried his best to tell Vincent that he wasn't trying to belittle his opinion or usurp his seniority. Ryan was the leader though, and he trusted his teammates to perform to the best of their abilities. With that, Ryan sighed, and closed his eyes for a brief moment. As he opened his eyes again, Ryan made sure to look David directly in his own. "It's like Terra says North. With that shot, we've just declared war. I don't think we're going to be much well liked after that. I am not saying that your idea wasn't a good one. You're the veteran here, not me. If you think that our targets are going to resist diplomacy, I'll take your word for it. I'm expecting you to exercise your best judgement. All I ask is that you do me two favors: be damn sure, and don't miss."

Returning his attention to Vincent, Ryan was just about to address Terra's point about how they were planning to land. However, the forecast suddenly called for hail of the explosive and diamond variety, interrupting Ryan. The scaled boy's keen ears picked up the whistling of projectiles heading for the plane, and his eyes snapped towards the direction of the deadly volley headed their way. "Take cover!" Ryan yelled, simultaneously wrapping his arms and tail around Vincent, thickening the scales on his back, and throwing the both of them to the floor, shielding Vincent from harm. Some glass had shattered, but it only bounced off of Ryan's scaly hide. As he stood, helping Vincent up, Ryan's eyes careened wildly around the jet, taking in everyone's status. No injuries, a miracle. That being said, their ride had some new windows blown into it, disabling the auto-pilot in the process. Luckily, however, Vincent then snapped into action, landing the jet safely.

It seemed Ryan's day was going to be full of carefully laid plans being blown entirely asunder. Ryan was the first off of the jet, his ears perked and his nose furiously working to detect even the slightest hint of their enemies, which he found right away. Someone was waiting for them. Someone who had blown a ventilation shaft through a building to get to them. Ryan held back a defensive growl. Rather swiftly after landing, it seemed their welcoming party was planning on destroying what remained of their jet. Ryan didn't exactly feel like taking a taxi home, but as he stepped forward to address Kieth, he rocketed towards them, accompanied by the sound of a small explosion. It almost happened too fast for Ryan, but just as he was moving to intercept the blow, Piotr stepped in, and blocked the assault. Ryan was in a daze, he was just about to murmur a cliched, "whoa..." when he felt Terra's eyes on him. Clearly, he hadn’t expected this sort of response from the kid. Terra stepped forwards, passing Piotr to get to the kid. Ryan went with him, stopping just a few feet before Kieth. Terra seemed furious as he shouted at Kieth. “You think this is a game? Do you know how many lives you’ve put in danger?” Ryan said nothing, only nodding in agreement. Grabbing the front of Keith’s shirt, Terra glared down at him, “We didn’t come here to help you, idiot. We came here to stop you. All you’re doing is making the rest of us look bad and you wonder why they all want us restricted!” His tone reached a rather threatening level and upon realization, Terra let Keith go.

As Terra turned to Vincent, Ryan stepped forward, pressing the advantage of the momentary ceasefire. He spoke. "I can understand your frustration." Ryan said calmly, directing his words at Kieth, "but think about what Terra said for a moment. If you do things like this, blowing up buildings, hurting people, and being a general menace, it only becomes easier for the HMR to pass counter-mutant legislature. Forget all the innocent mutants who don't want to fight with the HMR, you're only making things harder on yourself by doing this. As much as I want to punch those slimy, ignorant jerks in their dumb faces, it makes it real hard for them to turn around and smile at us in return. Our best bet is to kill them with kindness. We represent Professor Charles Xavier, over at the School for Gifted Youngsters. I'm sure you've heard of him. He's made some real headway for mutants like us. If you just calm down and let him help you, we won't even have to deal with those jerks in the HMR. If the Professor gets his way, everyone can live together in peace." Ryan explained. When he'd finished, Ryan addressed the matter of Kieth's partner. "So, Kieth, we know you aren't acting alone. You're here with a guy named Niles. Do us, and yourself a favor. Call your friend over here and we can all make sure that everyone makes it home safe tonight." With that, Ryan reverted his transformation until he appeared human once more, and after zipping the hole in his shorts with his left hand, Ryan held out his right for Kieth to shake, smiling.

It didn't take long for Keith's friendly smile to turn into one of disappointment. Hundreds of thoughts were going through the boys mind as he looked up towards the taller individual and deciphered the best way of punishing him. He could just to what he did to the last person who grabbed him violently and crush his arm. With the gauntlet, one easy squeeze would do. However, he was more involved in his other goal. His current job. Even though he wasn't getting paid, there was still a matter of favor, Keith swore he would give the man. In the end, it couldn't even amount to how much MONEY there would be at the end of the day. So instead he let out a sigh as he grabbed his leg instead, Squeezing with only his claws, in an attempt to calm himself down. Through the outer side of his left leg, he could feel the blood slowly oozing down, reminding him that he was more human than anything.

“You think this is a game? Do you know how many lives you've put in danger?”

Keith only grinned, knowing that what the man said could have been true, if only he wasn't ordered not to hurt anyone.

“We didn’t come here to help you, idiot. We came here to stop you. All you’re doing is making the rest of us look bad and you wonder why they all want us restricted!”

Once the stranger let him go, Keith eased his grip on his leg, not exactly wanting to take the gauntlets claws out of it. He looked down for a second, just to see how deep he had actually gone, not that it really mattered, and became quickly aware, that if he yanked them out pieces of his leg would surely follow. Letting loose another sigh, he decided to pull slowly, so that the holes wouldn't spread more than they'd have to. Upon focusing on his leg, another person from the landed jet went to him. Though the lad stayed focused on his leg, he was able to listen to what was being said.

If the Professor gets his way, everyone can live together in peace."

"So, Kieth, we know you aren't acting alone. You're here with a guy named Niles. Do us, and yourself a favor. Call your friend over here and we can all make sure that everyone makes it home safe tonight."

Finally getting free from his own claws, Keith proceeded to smile, a most vile smile in his current form, and licked the blood and meat off of his finger tips. Once he looked around and saw who was talking to him so adult like, he began to laugh, as if he was at a comedic concert.

"So let me get this straight? In no particular order, because I wasn't really listening to you guys. I get the feeling you guys are like the cops, but for mutants? Yeah. You may have POWER, you may have the stance, but your knowledge sucks. I don't know who you guys are, but you need to study more when it comes to me."

Keith placed his hand on his chin, stocking it as if a beard was there. "Innocent lives? Well, to me no ones innocent. I would have killed them all and be headed on my way back home by the time you guys were even half way here. A half hour? Seriously? Idiots. You harass me and call me out on things I didn't even do. All for a building? You grab me after I show you my friendly side, all for a building. Oh yeah...." Keith began to tremble. He could feel himself getting angrier and angrier. Yes. He was starting to feel excited. "Not to mention you say I'm giving you a bad name. Wow. All those things said by you lot and you don't even know what you say also makes you look bad. Let's review. You hear people screaming? I do. It's been thirty god damn minutes, but I can still here them. So they're alive and you think I put them at risk. Hehe. I wish I could show you how fast people like that would be underground. Though that's okay. What's next..... Oh right. Tell me. How does one give mutants a bad name. Well, I think it'd be smart to look at minorities of the present. In the past, when buildings were attacked, humans would die. There own people would kill them in numerous ways. We live in a country that is good for that. Yet, I attack a building, which is useless really since everyone's alive. Note, these people make SERUMS against mutants, and I still let them live."

Keith looked over his shoulders, wondering if what Niles would say if they talked to him. Keith being a mutant and alone most of his life had known the difference between right and wrong. He knew that killing people wasn't right, so he only did it on jobs. Still, he was the embarrassment to mutants? He couldn't get it out of his head. He tried to talk calmly, but he felt this shaking feeling was going to be the end of him.

"Tell me, who is the ones who should be shamed here? A mutant who destroys a building, spares the lives of his enemies and helps out his own kind, or those who can't control their own powers, so they can't do what this mutant can do, or their afraid they might kill people in the meantime. Well let me tell you something. On top of that, you try to stop me. Such cowardice behavior. Letting me do the job of ridding the area of people so you can fight me. To think..... Never mind. I'll just show you what I meant by spared lives."

Keith knew the second cartridge was all it would take. Punching the ground, creating a hole where he once stood, and flying into the air, Keith called for the second round to be fired, Propelling him towards the building. The only thing one could hear before the bang was the whooshing sound of the jet on his back. Once through the whole, he finally met the cheap floor work that belonged to the second to top floor and all the ones that followed, each one making the sound of a huge bang, but Keith wasn't aiming for just some floor destruction. He wanted a more serious path. He had guessed that everyone would have evacuated besides the cops, and even they should know to stay away from explosion. It was time for the demolition team to come and Keith was a one man wrecking ball. At least with the arm alone. He'd be more like a bomb with the second cartridge used, and he was pretty sure, he'd be atomic if he used the third.

Needless to say, Keith finally made it to the bottom, breaking all the walls in site of the floor and even managed to crack the ground. It wasn't much, but he was sure by the constant dust particles flying about that the building was going to cave soon. It would at least give those blue collar mutants something else to do, but preach to him like they know him. Keith looked around smiling. "See," he told himself. "Not a dead body in sight, just some uncle toms resting on the about to be sunken titanic. Ah well. At least it was fun before they started talking. Shoulda just tried alter the metal man. I wonder is that possible? Maybe."

Through his state of talking to himself, Keith punched the ground once again, headed towards the building Niles was in. Once there, he could tell the man had heard his latest masterpiece.

"Yo. Yeah so we should probably bail. I never fought more than two mutants at a time before and I knew one of their powers before doing so and there are about four to five resting on that building. It's gonna collapse soon by the way. Seems that even in New York, building are made of some hollow areas, whether it be the walls or floors. You should have heard them though. They said that we were making them look bad. Phew... If they knew how angry I was back then. Swear to god, once I'm done working for you, I'ma find them and rip off all of their limbs and organs with the gauntlet of mine. Until then though, what do you want to do, stay here or leave while we can?"

Terra, Ryan, David North/ Agent Zero, Vincent Xavier, Colossus, Keith, and Niles

Colossus was quite surprised by the young man’s strength. It honestly took quite a bit of effort to stop Keith while he had built up such momentum. “Whoa now young one
you are quite strong! What is the matter?” Piotr said in a rather friendly tone. He was honestly quite intrigued by Keith.

"Wow man. That's neat. Wow. For a second my friend thought you were working with these people. I don't really know much, but I heard they don't like mutants, so yeah. Anyway, you guys wanna have the rest of the building. There's plenty to blow up, but I'm kinda bored of that now.” Keith replied.

Colossus stepped backward, retaining his metal form, and watched as Terra and Ryan spoke to the young man. He wasn’t too big a fan of Terra grabbing Ryan by the shirt but he was to trust the team leaders to handle the situation. Piotr was always a fan of diplomacy in the simplest of manners but understood that it was not always possible.

David noticed Keith clutch his leg while being lectured by Ryan and Terra, the blood ran down the boys leg. David watched silently, his eyes squinted in analysis. He leaned in close to Vincent and whispered, “This guy is quite a few bricks short of a sanitarium. We need to be careful. That bullet I fired at him should had seriously taken him down, but here he is without much of a scratch. Literally, I can see where the bullet grazed his armor. He’s a tough contender.”

Vincent nodded. “Agreed and noted. But I think he’s more misguided than anything else. I sense there is hope for him yet.” Vincent smiled a little as he monitored the conversation between Ryan, Terra and Keith.

David replied in a slightly annoyed tone. “You X-men are always looking to convert someone. You’re worse than televangelists. Look some people aren’t salvageable. I’ve been living in the mansion for roughly a few weeks and I’m just as vile as before. I’d put a bullet through your skull with little hesitation for the right price.” David spoke while continuing to look forward.

Vincent’s smile only grew as he turned to face David. “See, you wouldn’t have hesitated at all before. Now you would. You are indeed salvageable David North.”

David looked at Vincent, his face with a minor blush due to embarrassment. “Is that the line you used to pick up your current boyfriend? God you are a smooth one Xavier.” David said smugly. He knew how to end this conversation quickly. He didn’t like having the rug pulled from beneath him.

Vincent frowned up immediately, “H-hey now! Don’t you twist this into knots. I’m happily spoken for and don’t flirt
”

David interrupted, “Hey Xavier you should probably pay more attention to what’s going on. The kid just bolted. And if we aren’t careful this rook is gonna give way due to the whole he left behind
.”

While Keith had launched in the air, the whole he left behind grew larger as more of the roof caved in causing the group to fall into the top landing of the building. Piotr stood rather quickly, “Is everyone alright? Given what the young one has responded, I don’t think talking is much of an option with him.”

Vincent added, “Perhaps the other is more prone to listening to reason?” Vincent levitated the group to the street level so they could meet Niles.

While Keith was on the roof, Niles found a panicked computer analyst cowering in a corner. He walked over to him and created a mask of diamond to conceal his identity. Forming a spear like weapon of diamond he threatened the frightened man for information on the HMR database. The analyst quickly coughed up the requested information and Niles allowed him to leave. Niles found the database he needed to destroy, located in a locked room. “Once this terminal is blown into history the HMR will have no back up files left. They will have no info on me now.” After blowing up the terminal Niles soon saw Keith quickly approach him.

Niles grew nervous with the mention of the other mutants. He had a pretty good guess as to who it was that Keith spotted. The X-men were tough customers or so he had heard from Emma Frost. Emma had a training simulation program similar to the X-mansion’s danger room. There Niles fought simulated versions of the original X-men team so he had a small idea of what it would be like to take on multiple mutants at once. However he was well aware that the real McCoy would be quite different.

“I say we make a run for it.” Niles replied.

As the two exited the building, it was an odd occurrence to see all of the cops and soldiers clear out. Something was quite off. Niles slowed in his pace when he heard heavy thuds. The ground shook as if a giant were approaching. “Wait! Something is not right!” Niles called out to Keith.

Then a large sentinel appeared towering over the two. “I guess I figured out why they all cleared out so fast. We knock down most of a building and they send in the big iron giant to stop us.” Niles said to Keith. Three more sentinels landed from the sky surrounding the two. “I think we could use your friends’ help
” Niles added.

Magneto, Logan, Quicksilver, Philip Klein, Hideki Matsuzaka, Jean Grey

The wreckage and rubble from the collapsed building surrounded the X-men team. They were saved Alice the once monstrously sized mutant now reverted to her original form. Logan was the first to come out of his slumber. Covered in debris he sat up and looked around. This was a disaster zone and there were siren sounds for miles. He began looking about frantically for the others after he shot to his feet. He may have been able to survive a building dropping on him but the others couldn’t.

He found Hideki partially exposed from the rubble and pulled him complete to freedom. “Hey kiddo you alright? Stay with me Matsuzaka
” Logan said as he held the young man.

Hideki groaned and then opened his eyes to see Logan’s concerned face. Hideki smiled through a couple of coughs. “I guess I’m alive after all. I knew you’d save me Logan.” Hideki said in a exhausted voice.

Quicksilver and magneto approached the group and Logan quickly filled them in on what happened since they separated. “Magneto I thought you were injured. You should be back at the jet.” Logan inquired.

Magneto narrowed his brow and replied, “I’m FINE. I’m of better use here than sitting in that jet waiting for you all to get yourselves killed. Now allow me to free the others so we can leave.” Magneto fussed. Logan didn’t complain however Quicksilver was annoyed that his father refused to take it easy. Magneto lifted the rubble off of the others and they were freed. Everyone seemed to be fairly alright. Quicksilver rushed back to the X-jet and piloted it so that he could pick the team up from the wreckage and take them back to the X-mansion.

Once Magneto, Logan, Jean, Alice, Hideki, Phillip, Oliver, and Memory were onboard the jet Quicksilver piloted the jet into the sky. Logan, using the com link, contacted team two. “Team 2, come in. This is Logan, are you ready for extraction? We’re headed over.”

Aidan, Frenzy, Kent, Evan, and Vernon

Kent listened, pressed the com link and replied to Logan’s beckon, “This is Kent of team two reporting in. Yes Logan we are more than ready to go home. Our jet is still intact so we will head back on our own. Thanks and see you at home.”

Logan replied with a grin, “Copy that Kent. Oh and it’s good to hear you consider the mansion home again bub. It’s great to have you back. You’ll keep the rest of us sane.” Logan was honestly glad to hear Kent’s voice. It seemed like everyone was generally alright. At least someone had a success today, he thought. After a few minutes of travel the speedy jet arrived at the X-mansion.

All of the other teams returned around roughly the same time. As the team members de-boarded the jets they all looked like they had been through hell. They all faced considerable danger today. Professor Xavier greeted the group and saw a few new faces. He had seen them while he used Cerebro to monitor the various situations however this was a first meeting between him and the newcomers. “Welcome to some and welcome back to others. I am proud of your bravery and decision making today. You all as individuals did exceptionally well in such distressing situations. For those of you who do not know me, I am professor Charles Xavier and I welcome you to the Xavier and Lensherr School for Gifted Students. You must all be tired. Feel free to utilize this place as a safe haven for as long as you require. I will soon hold a briefing meeting once everyone has had a day to rest and revitalize. I will update you all tomorrow.”

Cain was still quiet and brooding since Andy’s death. Vincent saw Cain standing there in silence as if the world was sitting atop his brain. He gave Ryan a proud smile for his valiant leadership ethic out and the field and a pat on the shoulder before approaching Cain. ”Hey
I know what happened out there and I wanted you to know that if you need me for anything I’m here for you. You did the best you could out there and there was nothing more that you could have done.”

Cain looked up toward Vincent and embraced him in his arms. “Brother
” He said as if exhaling for the first time in an hour. Vincent returned the embrace. It was nice to bond with Cain. The two hadn’t interacted much since their meeting. Cain stepped back from Vincent and replied, “Unfortunately there was something else I could have done to make sure that young man survived, yet I was weak and couldn’t bring myself to do it before it was too late. I won’t make the same mistake twice.” He said he reassuringly place his hand on Vincent’s cheek. Vincent was concerned with the state of mind his brother was in.

Scott and Jean hugged each other and kissed, simply being glad to be reunited. Scott hated being split up from Jean on their first mission since her return, however orders were orders. Logan stood not too far away watching the two of them. His face displayed a somber expression. Hideki walked up behind Logan and wrapped his arms around him. “Hey Wolverine, it’ll be alright. I’m here for you. We’re a mess let’s hit the shower.” Hideki couldn’t help by attempt to flirt with Logan.

Logan, smirking, slowly peeled Hideki’s arms from around him and turned to face him. “Yeah let’s Shower
in our own separate rooms.” Logan chuckled. He began to take a few steps away. “That imagination of yours seems to be working pretty vividly so feel free to imagine I’m there. That should do the trick Kid.” With that Logan exited the hangar. Hideki huffed at his failed attempt at Logan.

Everyone filed away to their quarters and the guests were shown to rooms so they could rest for the night. Xavier decided to stay awake and monitor the mansion for activity over night in the event that one of the guests weren’t so honest about being neutral. Erik wanted to watch in Charles’ stead but Charles refused. He knew Erik pushed himself very far today and needed rest.

(OOC: Hey sorry for the lazy post. I had a lot of ground to cover and instead of hitting all of the individual teams situations and characters with personal references which would have taken a lot of time, I met half way on it. So you can assume all teams are back at the mansion. The guests would be Robert, Vernon, Evan, Alice, Aidan and Niles. (Maybe Keith is Daimoa is still with us.) So it’s still night time that same day, Feel free to have your characters interact and mingle as everyone ponders where to go from here. Cain will soon start openly speaking to others about starting his own team. If anyone has any special ideas post them in the OOC. I’d welcome them.)
