Memory is a fun-loving and bubbly 21 year old with a slim figure and flowing brown hair. She stands at 5' 4" and has alluring chocolate brown eyes which you just seem to melt into. There is a mischievous sparkle in her eyes, a twinkle of life shining from her very soul, and a cheeky - and slightly flirtatious smile - on her face almost constantly, though it is mostly an act to bury down the loneliness she feels in her heart. Her skin has a healthy tan and seems to glow when she smiles. There is a scar down her left leg from the car crash that killed her mother when she was 16 and has a tattoo of the word Memory in Japanese on her left wrist.

Personality: Really flirtatious and feisty. Memory's strong willed nature and feisty attitude is what attracts people to her, and her cheerful flirting but that's not the point. Though, it must be admitted, it has come in handy in many situations. She's not even nearly trusting by nature. It's not that she will treat you differently because she doesn't trust you, she'll will just not share important information with you or she'll keep an eye on you when you are doing something shady. That sort of thing. Ok, yeah, she will treat you differently but still.

Since a young age, Memory was taught to think about every decision thoroughly before making a choice by her mother. However, she tries her best to defy this rule as much as possible. Even now she not entirely sure why, she just don't like following the rules that are dictated to her. Probably why she's pretty damn good at hacking, because of her need to be. Which brings us to the next part of her.

Memory's intelligence is astounding. These are not her words so she cannot be accused of being vain or anything. It was her personal tutor that told her after her exams when she got almost full marks for every exam except one which she got just over 4/5. Also, she can be a little cheeky at times and can be very criticising. But she always does it with a smile so that makes it all better, right? Plus she have fairly good acting skills so she can just fake an apology if needs be.

While Memory acts flirtatious, cheeky and just generally fun-loving, there is a painful loneliness deep within that she has been feeling since her mother's death.

Finally, her courage is something that Memory holds dear. Even though her family have been trained to think of the repercussions of their actions before doing anything, Memory has made very split second decisions that has saved one life already. She could have killed herself saving a girl who had fallen on to train tracks at a subway station not long before train was ready to arrive, but her life was greater than Memory's at that point in M's opinion. It was selfless but it is not something she expects to happen often, as much as she'd like it to.

Powers and Abilities: As her codename may suggest, Memory's abilities are based primarily on memories. Her main weaknesses are that she must have prolonged skin contact at the temples for most of her powers to work at this stage and that some abilities require a certain state or mind to do. If she does not have this then the power can be a little temperamental.

1. Memory Walking - Memory can not only see but also experience the memories of another. If she is in a place of calm and has skin contact at the temples (unless it is for her own memoires which require only a calm mind) she can let her mind travel into another's and wander around their memories, seeing the scene from every possible angle with every possible detail.

2. Memory altering - She cannot erase memories, but she can suppress and hide away memories in a way similar to her memory defences. This can be used as a last resort move where she will completely suppress every memory that she can within the target's mind temporarily in order to escape though it drains her considerably and she again requires skin contact at the temples. While she cannot erase memories, she can stop someone from ever remembering her if she concentrates very hard. Even if they know she is there, their brain will not want to remember seeing her there and will not look at her no matter what the cost (depends on strength of use with this ability).

3. Memory Implantation - Place a fake memory within someone's head for many reasons. For example, sending yourself into their memories as a loved one or friend to gain information and infiltrate their personal life or the like. Again, requires same kind of skin contact.

4. Memory Defences - Much like an ordinary telepath, Minerva can create mental defences on her own and another's memories, but not the mind itself. She envisions the mind like a never-ending labyrinth or corridors and room, each room containing a different memory. It is merely used as a tool to help her navigate through the mind. Using this same ability Memory could potentially seal off bad memories for another or herself if the situation called for it.

History: Memory Ashcroft, the only child of Olivia Moore and David Ashcroft and half brother to Jonathan Moore whom she is closer to that any other person alive. She actually changed her first name to suit her ability from Minerva to Memory when she was old enough to do so. Up until she was 16, Memory did not even know that Jonathan existed. She had never known her father as he had left them not long after Memory was born. She always learned to fend for herself, becoming quite independent and strong willed, but she had no male figure to look up to. It was only after the car crash that injured Memory and killed her mother that she ever learned of Jonathan. When they finally met, it was not the instant brother-sister bond that she was hoping for. The second she saw him her distrusting nature kicked in her first reaction was to push him away while his was to try and welcome her into his side of the family. It continued like this for just over a year, with the two arguing and fighting constantly. One time Memory actually pushed him out of a first floor window. It was an accident that he went trough the window but she doesn't feel bad.

What really brought them together, as surprising as it might sound, was high school. They had both awakened to their powers by now. Memory had awakened to her own power during the car crash when she tried to check on her mother's condition, as weak as M was. She had touched her mother's head, her fingertips touching the temple, and the fear of her being dead awakened her to her powers. M just managed to catch the last few memories in her mother's mind slip away before her eyes as she fell into the dark abyss that is death. Jonathan had never really been liked for his rather blunt personality at times so he had quite a number of people wanting to deal some serious damage. This he could have handled. The rumour that he, and by association M, were mutants they could not handle.

They were looked down on and treated like scum by the teens, even with no proof. The mere possibility of them being mutants was enough to have them hated and feared by most, even some teachers. They would be abused every single day, treated like scum and assaulted on multiple occasions because of what these people believed.

The turning point in the relationship between these half siblings was shortly after Jonathan had graduated from school and had moved onto university. A bunch of guys from his years had also graduated and seen him one day, taking it as the opportunity it was. They dragged him into a secluded alleyway and started beating him senseless, each taking their turn holding or hitting him. He fought back at first but then he just accepted that there was nothing he could do to save him. M thankfully had been meeting him near there. When she heard his cries of pain, Memory rushed to him only to see the leader of the group drop to the ground. He had tried to cut Jonathan with a switch-blade but had only managed to slice down his hand, which is why he has the scar, and in a moment of panic Jonathan and grabbed the attackers wrist. He died hours later in hospital. Memory had comforted him through this for months, the memory of the killing tormenting his mind. She even tried to suppress the memory for him but only ended up making it worse for him by sending herself into the nightmare. Due to her abilities, she was able to protect herself from the bad memories and fears, becoming immune to his ability when she returned to the waking world - so far the only one who can touch Jonathan's skin without dying.

When rumours spread of them being mutants spread again, they left their home state of Texas and moved up the country. When they heard rumours of a school designed for people like them that wouldn't judge them but help the siblings develop their abilities they jumped at the chance, though tried not to get their hopes up. As it happens, their decision was the right one. They've been there ever since.

Other information: Memory has an unusual fear of Leprechauns. There is no real explanation for it but ever since she was young, Minerva has never been able to look at a Leprechaun without being terrified.

So begins...

A great flash to the side caught both of the siblings' attention, distracting them fully from the fight and earning Jonathan a small cut along his cheek as he dodged an incoming blade too late. Being only an inch long and barely even deep, he disregarded it before denting the pole he had claimed as his weapon yet again from the force of his attack. They stopped for a second, looking from each other to the wreck of metallic bodies and back before shrugging and returning to the fight.

“Hey there Mates!! Mind if I jump in on the wonder twins party?”

The mixed-accent voice was only slightly familiar to them, just a student they had heard in the classroom or in the corridors. It was only really Memory who remembered the pleasantly cheerful boy who had saved their ass as Matsuzaka Hideki and that was mainly because his power fascinated her.

It was a few seconds later that what he had called them registered in their minds. They turned to each other with puzzled expressions and simultaneously spoke the words "wonder twins" with great confusion.

A force on Memory's back pushed her forwards and off of her feet slightly into Jonathan's arms. With some effort he stepped back as she fell into him, gripping under her arms firmly, and swung her around as hard as he could before releasing her in the direction of the bot that had attacked her. Her heels connected pushing it back, Memory hitting it at an angle and riding the robot down to the ground before jumping of into a handstand which she got out of by dropping one leg at a time like Lara Croft and swung her torso up.

“Although
you two seem to have things handled.”

M grabbed her "sword" and rushed to Hideki's side, brandishing it threateningly as the dwindling group of Silver men circled them yet again causing J to step back defensively towards her. She turned with a smile to her brother. He had always admired how she could stay smiling through all the difficult times no matter what, though knew it was just an act for the majority of the time.

"Alright Nightmare..." The use of his codename making him grin widely. "...show me what you've got."

He gripped the staff harder.
"Love to, Mnemosyne."

Just then the "hunk" as Memory had described him - which was fairly accurate - from before drooped casually into the group at J's side making him jump and nearly swing the dented piece of metal he had claimed as his weapon in the direction of the boy. J glanced quickly at him then smiled, though was slightly confused why he had chosen to land beside him.

“Sorry guys and lovely lady, I got a little held down a moment ago."

'If anything that just makes it harder to tell. That just doesn't explain-'

"Miss me?” His eyes seemed to tell Jonathan that it was intended for him and his cheeks burned warm again slightly. Thankfully Jonathan didn't blush very noticeably.

'Oh.'

Flashing his teeth once again in a small, but very friendly, smile J answered the boy being a flirt himself which was generally Memory's department though J was known to do it on occasion with guys and girls.

"Always..." He swung the staff around and fixed his eyes on the mechanical monsters, his focus directed at one in particular that he thought had been taken care of already. The robotic man with the damaged neck which Jonathan had dented his weapon against just after he acquired it stepped forwards and J pointed with the end in its direction.

"You're mine..."

Memory charged into the fight with a huge smile on her face, the blade of the arm slicing into the metallic bodies, though taking some considerable damage itself.
"C' mon! You can all do better than that!" She began to taunt. "I've been in pillow fights that were harder than this!"

Big mistake.

One of the silver men stepped back and gripped with its left hand the right wrist as the palm of the right hand faced Memory. Taking a hard hit to the side of her face she stumbled back before dropping to her knees and thrusting the sword forwards into the chest of another, brining it up the chest and into the head as she returned quickly to her feet. It didn't destroy it however, but she wasn't caring at this point. Some damage is better than no damage. Swinging the arm she knocked it over the head with the blunt metal and spun in a circle looking for another opponent, her eyes falling on the creature gripping it's wrist. Tilting her head slightly with a bemused face, she gazed at it before her eyes went wide. A grey cord shot from the palm of the defence bot and she just managed to dodge out of the way gaining a small red mark on her exposed shoulder where it grazed her skin.

Returning to her feet the cord retracted into the being before firing yet again. This time she was ready and swung the arm up to deflect the cord. Instead of it retracting however, the cord simply moved as if it had a mind of its own after the knock to the side. The serpentine metal slithered this way and that through the air, lunging every now and then when there was a better chance in reaching its target and every time Memory tried her hardest to block it. The end suddenly open like a mouth, the four claws like venomous fangs.

This didn't bother her much. What bothered her was when a second robot joined the first but it could use two cords and not one.

Memory stepped back in fear.

'I may be in over my head...'

She threw the arm up as a distraction, turned a full 180 and charged in her brother's direction.
"JON-A-THAN!!!!!"

J and the metal bot, which he had named Archie after the goldfish he had as a pet when he was seven (don't ask...), had been standing staring at each other for over a minute, both trying to find a weakness in the other. This was when he heard his sister's voice screaming his name in terror. He chanced a glance back at her sprinting form, which he found rather impressive considering the heels she was wearing, then returned his hazel eyes to the silver of the robot's.

"I'll be back for you." He promised before running after his sister.

He didn't get far.

A hand gripped his shoulder and pulled him back, the hold strong and a potent smell of metal coming from it. He tried to wriggle free but there was no hope for it. Every time he swung the staff around and it connected with the body of the creature grabbing him from behind the grip only tightened. His frantic eyes searched the surroundings for his sister only to find her drop to the ground, a grey metal cord around her ankle, and get dragged along the ground kicking and screaming as two more cords trapped her body like tentacles.

A burning protective rage grew in Jonathan's heart at sight of his sister being dragged away, then a feeling of helplessness. He closed his eyes hard as the tight grip only started to close even more sending flurries of pain through his body and bringing him onto one knee.

'Guess you're going to loose another one, huh?' A voice in his mind asked derisively. Then something happened that even Jonathan couldn't explain. A new feeling within him cleared all thoughts like this away, the thoughts and negative emotions being cleared away almost instantly.

"Not... this... time!"

He reached up and gripped the head of the robot with his free arm and pulled forwards with all his might lifting the metal man over his back and off its feet. No longer caring about the pain in his body, J charged at her. He had already lost one sister and he refused to let it happen again.

He dodged Kyle and Flare while they fought the remaining bots and zoned in on only those two holding Memory. He jumped to the side avoiding one bot, then jumped forwards into a roll between two laser blasts. Evading the metal this way and that before he jumped onto the back of one which was crouching slightly, kicking off of it to gain a higher jumped which turned into an almost disastrous somersault over the last one between him an his sister's captors.

'I'm gonna make it. I'm gonna make it. I'm gonna-'

A blur of silver wad the last thing he saw before his back hit the ground. His vision was blurred form the hit but he could still just make out the figure of the robot as it raised the bladed arm.

"Memory..."

~Vila & Aaiyah Ippolita~

Vila moved with out making a sound she keep close to the students to make sure they where safe. Now and than she would step in to help them out but left them handle the fighting. She would almost seem useless in a fight with how she was going about things. For her the less fighting she did the better. It gave them less to know about her and what she could really do. For her she feared to no end the idea of losing control scared her to no end. Scott, Logan, Vincent, Erik and Xavier knew this to be one of her fears.

Vilas mask was rather strange with the white porcelain under neath and the wire elegant mask on top. It came across as slight less but was far from it. For Vila this helped her keep control and in many ways feel safe when it came to using her skills. Vila moved to look at something... even with this being a level three round she knew there was something more to it. What something seemed it was not, and what it was not it was. She moved studying something closely her finger tips running over the ground...."mmmmm" she tapped the ground as if looking for something.

The students where to cocky and to quick to think they got everything. Once fully standing she looked over to try and spot someone to bust a whole in to the ground. She sighed not spotting anyone that was to close. She slowly took a deep breath clearing her mind She drew a circle scarring the floor before she slammed her staff hard on the ground causing the ground to shake. Focusing her energy in to the located area where the staff was sticking. With one swift movement she got the area she was standing in to cave in letting the cement slab she was standing on fall to a hidden area.

They took out only part of the factory not the other part. she moved looking around at was down there. The main part of the robots where taken down but not to put it simple the brain. The brain was more vital than anything else. With out it the robots where pointless. She walked over to the computer area knowing the base of how computers worked pulled a thumb drive out that would get need information that would be use full. This would only take a short amount of time. Once that was done she started to take out the machines. Causing plants to take over and chock the machines.

Vila moved back to the whole where a few vines had grown up wards giving her away back out of the whole. Once out she went to find the others. She let the vines go letting the grow out of the whole and taking over what they wished. She new they would take over the building in time reclaiming it as theirs.

~Aaiyah~

Aaiyah smirked once she looked over everything. It seemed fine and that was a good thing however she was going to have to post rules in the danger room so this would not happen again and the out come of what would happen. She closed the computer up pleased it did not need to be fixed.

Looking out at was going on she was not overly impressed with Vila she seemed useless as a fighter. "That ginger better be a better healer than fighter, the red head seems rather useless to bring out on a mission." Aaiyah being the big mouth she was and not one to care if she pissed people off spoke her mind on this. However she keep it clean witch was something she did not do that often. The others seemed more useful in a fight and less of something to worry about.

Aaiyah watched her and just shock her head at this however ended up eating her words when Vila took action. Her jaw almost dropped when Vila found the hidden room. This surprised her even more so with how Vila go down to the room and took everything out....not only that but took the time to get information.

Charles Felt caught up in feelings of despair and sorry. He let his son down. He let his students and family down. The faces of each one of them flashed in his overwhelmed mind. He placed his face in his hands and wept. He then felt the gentle embrace of one that he could only be Mia. She was one of a sweet heart and she knew how to make one feel better, she didn’t have to say a word. Charles began to feel centered once again. He placed his hand over Mia’s and said, “Thank you Mia. I needed that.”, softly to her.

Fuyumi felt horrible. She thought back to earlier in the day when Vincent, Vila, and her were formulating their plan of action. They were to protect the students. But once they found out that the students weren’t the actual target she should have switched modes. She wished she had not have allowed the steady flow of things to sweep her into quick brash decisions. She racked her brain for ways to help make this right. Then it hit her, Cerebro. Fuyumi sprinted over to the professor who was crouched on the ground next to Mia, Erik and Pietro who all stood. “Professor you must use Cerebro! I’m sure you’ll get a location on where Vincent is if you search for him that way.” Fuyumi sounded flustered. She was usually very calm in disposition but today’s events proved to be a bit much for even her.

Charles looked up with a sense of hope. He was so grief stricken that he had forgotten all about Cerebro. Charles replied, “Yes
Fuyumi you’re right! I must go to Cerebro immediately. Erik will you see to the students? I also received another communication from Hideki in the danger room just now. It seems they managed to subdue a rather dangerous mutant who’s abilities seem to mirror Logan’s. I can trust only you to safely handle someone of that caliber Erik.” Charles said swiftly.

Erik stopped him before he could continue. “Charles, it’s alright. I’ll handle things here. Please find our son, I know you will. We need your calm disposition more than ever right now. Vincent will be fine and you will find him. Don’t you worry.” Erik gave Charles a gentle smile and helped him to his feet. Charles nodded in response and headed off to the danger room swiftly.

Erik then levitated off of the ground high enough for all to see him. He then spoke calm and authoritatively to the group outside the mansion. “Listen well everyone. I know today’s incident was indeed difficult. Today we were attacked by people who are afraid, afraid of you for your strength, afraid of you for what you have been blessed with. Fear stems from misunderstanding. They don’t understand us and thus out of fear they tried to harm and destroy us. But we mustn’t harden our hearts and close our minds off to the mission we all believe in. Vincent, my son
, has been taken from us. However, we WILL find him. We won’t let Weapon-X claim a member of our family, as X-men, and as a Mutant family! Charles is using Cerebro to locate Vincent now. The best thing for us to do is to be strong, be proud, and carry onward believing that our future will be better than our pasts! You all have made me very proud today. Charles is proud of you. You stood up for each other and fought hard not to kill even though they tried to kill us. I know how hard it is to come from a place of killing humans without a thought, to protecting those very humans that would rather see me dead. It’s difficult to love someone who hates you. But love suffers long for its cause and so shall we until our desired end is met, harmony. Rest now, tend to your wounds, continue to support one another. Know that all is well.” With that, Erik lowered himself down to the ground and headed into the mansion.

Fuyumi felt relieved after Erik’s speech. He was so charismatic and a natural leader. Fuyumi noticed some of the other’s dispositions improving slightly. However one person’s disposition showed they needed a little tending to. Fuyumi calmly walked over to Ryan and sat down beside him. She placed a hand on Ryan’s shoulder. “Ryan, don’t you worry. You were so brave today. I’m sure Adria will greatly appreciate saving her. Vincent looked proud to see you all work so well together in the middle of danger. You did what was best for the team and I know for sure he’d be proud of that. I believe that for myself as well. I wish I could have stayed by his side, but there were others that needed me too. I believe he’ll return to us, in one piece.” Fuyumi then gave Ryan a gentle hug. She liked Ryan for his gentleness and strong spirit. He took things so seriously and tried his best. She was very much the same way when she was younger.
Kyle stood next to Scott who looked as upset about today’s event’s as he did. He noticed Scott’s face cringe when he heard that Vincent was taken. Scott was definitely silently dealing with a great deal of anger and disappointment. Kyle looked on as Jonathan tried to console Memory, who seemed to be breaking down. Jonathan was most likely hurting heavily as well, but he needed to be strong for Memory and he was doing a very good job. Kyle wondered how his best friend was doing. Hideki was there when Vincent was captured. Kyle was sure Hideki wasn’t in the best head space. Kyle wasn’t in the best head space. He felt kind of useless. He wished he had been more helpful than he was. He wasn’t exactly sure of what would happen to Vincent but he prayed silently to on the spot that Vincent would be okay.

Kyle didn’t cry or look angry. He simply stood silently next to Scott and watched everyone else. He did however look disappointed. Kyle was a very interesting individual. He was very personable and quite the people person. However he had a very existent lonely side to him. He developed that way of being during the time when he couldn’t control his absorption abilities thus he couldn’t touch anyone. This problem had persisted for nearly two and a half years before he was able to be helped. He was used to being the charming guy you could see but never really get close to. Even now that people could get close to him, it was hard for him to take down those inner barriers that he placed up long ago. Vincent was a good friend to Kyle. Kyle could only imagine how hard Philip was taking the situation. Kyle thought to himself, “Whe the professor locates Vincent, I’ll fly as far as I need to so that I can meet up with him and make sure he gets home safely. I promise.”

Hideki plopped down on the floor of the danger room. He was tired and upset. He was relieved that X-23 had finally been subdued but Vincent was gone. He felt terrible having to tell the Professor that he failed to help his son. As much as Hideki beat himself up on the inside he tried to keep a slightly upbeat disposition on the outside. He never liked to look down and sad if he could help it. “Today was not a very good day
” He commented.

Philip looked on at the pile of rock and vines X-23 was constricted in. He stood looking on as if he were in a trance. His breathing was broken and winded. His eyes began to tear at the thought of his lover being snatched away from him and he couldn’t protect him. He began to weep heavily and didn’t wipe away a single tear. “Why
 why
 wasn’t I strong enough? I couldn’t save him
what kind of boyfriend am I?” Philip criticized himself.

Logan walked over to Philip and placed a hand on Philip’s shoulder. “Look kid, the guys we were facing were nothing easy to overcome. They aren’t just strong but as tricky as they come. There was no way we could have planned for this. You did what you could. This doesn’t mean you can’t protect who you love or that he ain’t comin’ back. We’ll get him and we’ll make Trask pay big time for this I swear.” Logan knew that Trask was to blame for all of this. It fit his M.O. perfectly. Philip seemed to take well to Logan’s encouragement and slowed in his weeping. Logan then turned to Vila, “Thanks Vila. You did an excellent job at keeping little miss assassin under wraps.” Vila didn’t say anything, but nodded as she left out of the danger room. Logan knew that Vila was taking this as hard as Charles, Erik, and Philip did.

Erik shortly afterward entered the danger room. His face was stern looking. He walked over to Hideki and helped him to his feet. “Thank you, all of you for helping my son as best you could. I do not take that lightly.” Erik the turned to Philip. “Philip my boy, I know
 I know
but continue to be strong enough to believe that Vincent will be fine. Charles is looking for him right now with Cerebro. A mutant of Vincent’s strength will not be hard to spot with Cerebro.”

Erik then looked at the pile of stone and vines that held X-23 captive. He scowled at the pile angrily. With a wave of the hand he brushed the heavy stones aside using his power and levitated X-23 in the air. She was just like Logan indeed, with an Adamantium coated skeleton. X-23 was stuck in one position, as if she were standing at attention with floating in the air. “When will Trask learn that coating things in such an alloy is simply a heavy handicap? I’ll bring her to the holding cell myself. You all should tend to your wounds and get rest as best you can. Things from this point forward will not be easy.” With that Erik turned and walked out of the danger room taking X-23 with him.

He brought her to the confinement cell that was actually tested to be able to hold a mutant even as strong as Logan and stronger. He hurled the assassin into the cell using his power. He had very little remorse for the deadly mutant. Erik knew a stone cold killer when he saw one. He grew up suppressed and threatened by them every day in his youth. He said only one thing to X-23 before leaving her in the containment area alone and secure. “You, young one, are very fortunate that I am a changed man. Charles’ rubbing off on me has saved your miserable life more than you know
the old me would have ripped your bones apart and beat the remains with them but I have learned to suppress such uncontrolled and vicious urges. Do know that I can smell your bones miles away. So if you did manage to escape, you won’t be getting far before you feel your head begin to snap from your body. Just a bit of encouragement for you to be a good girl and behave.” Erik’s tone was composed but very serious. He meant every word and could more than back it all up.

Erik left the holding area and met with Charles. The room that contained Cerebro was enormous. The large spherical room had one extended platform from the room’s entrance. At the end of the platform sat Charles at the station that carried the helmet that the user would use to operate the machine. Only telepaths could operate Cerebro and not just any telepath could effectively use it the way Charles or Vincent could. It amplifies the telepathic strengths of the user. Erik slowly approached Charles. “How’s the search. Have you found him?” Erik asked, sounding like a worried parent whose child hasn’t returned home after curfew.

Charles was about to reply that he had not yet located Vincent but he, just then, picked up on Vincent. “I’ve just located him Erik!! He was miles away in an underground base. He and several others have escaped it seems and the base has been destroyed. But something puzzles me and concerns me. It appears that I am sensing double signatures on Vincent’s X-gene. There is another present with him that shares Vincent’s reading. This is much different than clones like the young lady in captivity right now. She has a different signature than Logan. But it is as if there is two of our son.” Charles explained. He had communicated with Vincent and instructed him that he would be sending Scott in the blackbird to go pick him and his companions up soon. They would be back at the mansion in a couple of days.

Charles then proceeded to inform everyone else telepathically that Vincent was alright. “Everyone there is good news. I have located Vincent and he is alright it seems. I will have Scott and Logan fly to his location to pick him and his companions up. Rest easy and thank you all for your bravery and strength today. To all of our guests please make yourselves at home. I will have repairs initiated as soon as possible. I will aim to keep you all posted on the status of things.” With that Charles ended his telepathic communication with the others.

The next day had arrived and things were busy at the mansion. Repairs were underway and everyone was given the day off from all meetings and classes. They were encouraged to take it easy. Scott, Logan, and Philip set out to pick up Vincent. The trip would take a little while. They weren’t aware that David, Sabertooth, Agent Six, as well as Cain were the extra people that would be accompanying them back to the mansion. They were in for a deadly reunion

As the pair left Ryan's room, heading down to breakfast, Ryan couldn't help but notice the odd looks he garnered from his classmates. As the other students made their separate ways to he dining room and kitchen, some of them smirked at Ryan and Memory. While she seemed largely unphased by this development, Ryan couldn't help but feel... embarrassed? No, he loved Memory. Even if she was wearing a jacket made out of puppy leather, Ryan would stand by her and defend her until the end of days. So what was this feeling? The feeling of dread, the feeling of... shame, that permeated his entire being and made him sick to his stomach. Even as they approached the kitchen, smelling the wondrous aroma of pancakes and syrup, Ryan only felt nauseated. Was it that he was afraid to approach Jonathan, whose smell accompanied those of his friends and teachers in the kitchen? Was he afraid of what those people would say if he walked in following Memory like a puppy? Was he ashamed of himself, for allowing these kinds of thoughts to even occur to him? Ryan didn't know, but he was scared. He shivered, not out of cold, but fear, fear of the unknown.

As Memory led Ryan down the stairs to the kitchen, the final stretch before breakfast, she spoke. "You look good without any clothes on," Memory murmured, acting as if it meant nothing, but then looked over her shoulder slyly to him. Immediately Ryan blushed, his cheeks burning bright red. However, instead of being embarrassed, or acting scared, Ryan just stopped walking, his eyes turned to the floor. It had all become sickeningly clear to him. The sleep over, the careful flirting, and the casual attitude she had with him, all of it made sense to Ryan now. It was a ploy, all of it. She was just messing around with him. He stood there for a moment, saddened beyond all hope of recovery. His shoulders quivered, and he heard himself sigh. Finally, after a moment of nothingness, Ryan looked up to Memory, tears beginning to form in the corners of his eyes. Despite his sadness, and despite the heartbreak he was obviously feeling, Ryan smiled. He took a step forward, still holding her hand and cupping Memory's cheek with his other hand. He threw his arms around her, embracing her for just a quick moment. When he was finished, only a moment later, he took a step back, sniffled a bit, and looked directly into Memory's eyes. "I'm so glad." Ryan began. "I'm so glad I know now. I know what I am to you." He laughed, bittersweet, and continued speaking, the tears now flowing freely down his face. "I was scared, you know? I didn't want to get in the way, I didn't want to be a hindrance, and I didn't want to make anyone upset. I don't have to worry about that anymore. I'm not a real option to you. I get it. I'm like... a pleasant distraction, something to keep you busy. You didn't have to beat around the bush with me. You didn't need to play the flirting game, you didn't need to pretend anything to get close to me. I'm sixteen, not stupid. If this is just a game, then you win, let's not play anymore. I liked you, I really did, I still do." Ryan finished, sniffling.

Ryan's eyes were now red, and though he was dying, slowly on the inside, he felt better. "Here, come see how silly I was being." Ryan said, grabbing Memory's hand, and placing it to his forehead. "You can do that, right? You're a telepath, you can see what I'm thinking?" Ryan asked. "Go ahead. Take a look at how stupid I felt in the hallway on the way to my room. I want you to look, go ahead, see how good you got me. Do it. Please." Ryan said. He began to recall his thoughts from the hallway, all the angst ridden questions he puzzled over in an attempt to define their relationship, hoping it might help speed up the process. However, though he tried to be finished when the memory of the hallway was over, he couldn't. Thoughts of Memory came flooding into the light of his conscious thoughts and he couldn't hold them back. If Memory was still with him, she would see everything. He remembered all the nights he spent wide awake, staring at the ceiling, trying to find ways to impress her, get her to notice him, or start up normal conversation. He recalled the fluttering of his heartbeat whenever she walked by, smiled at him, said his name. He relived the night he spent with her, the kiss he gave to the sleeping Memory. He remembered every feeling he'd ever had for Memory, every moment of joy, and confusion, and love. It was as if his soul had been poured out for her to see. Though he didn't want to, didn't think it was a good idea, Ryan tried to, wanted to, say everything he'd ever meant to, but never could. Not that it mattered anymore. He would never fulfill those dreams. He was just a foolish little boy who'd been caught playing pretend. Even though he was heartbroken, Ryan smiled. "Wasn't I foolish? I'm sorry I was such an idiot. You're obviously not interested in that kind of thing. Not with me anyway, not with someone like David around. I wouldn't pick me either. I'm sorry. I was so... so..." However, whatever Ryan was, we wouldn't ever know. At that moment, his calm faded. He removed Memory's hand from his head and sat on the step. Silently, Ryan began to sob, crying like a child.
