Xavier’s goals are to promote the peaceful affirmation of mutant rights, to mediate the co-existence of mutants and humans, to protect mutants from militant humans and to protect society from antagonistic mutants, including his old friend, the militant Magneto. To achieve these aims, he founded Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters (later named the Xavier Institute) to teach mutants to explore and control their powers. Its first group of students were the original X-Men. Xavier's students consider him a visionary and often refer to their mission as "Xavier's dream". He is highly regarded by others in the Marvel universe, respected by various governments and trusted by several other superhero teams, including the Avengers and the Fantastic Four. However, he also has a manipulative streak which has resulted in several significant fallings-out with allies and students.

He often acts as a public advocate for mutant rights and is the authority most of the Marvel superhero community turns to for advice on mutants. Despite this, his status as a mutant himself and leader of the X-Men only became public during the 2001 story "E Is for Extinction".

Mutant Classification: Omega

Powers and Abilities:

Image

Professor Charles Xavier is an Omega Class Telepath,[8] and possesses vast psionic powers:

Telepathy: Able to read minds and project his own thoughts into the minds of others within a radius of 250 miles (on Earth). With extreme effort he can greatly extend that radius. When synched with Cerebro or Cerebra, he can connect to every mind on a planet. After he was thrown into the M'Kraan Crystal, it not only restored his mutation, but made his telepathy more powerful than it has been previously, thereby making him the world's most powerful telepath once again.

Image

 Telepathic Illusion: ability to create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring.

 Telepathic Cloak: can mask his presence from being detected by others. His abilities can at times go undetected or be counteracted by other more powerful telepaths depending on their level of skill in using their own psi abilities. He can extend these defenses to others around him as well.

 Psi Link: ability to develop a mental link with any person which remains as a connection to that individual.

 Telepathic Camouflage: ability to mask himself, and other peoples' presence from those around him. Can telepathically disguise himself, making his appearance to those around him quite different (changing the appearance of clothing, as well as more involved disguising).

 Mind Blast: ability to place large amounts of information in another's mind.

 Mind Control: ability to control the minds of others upon mere concentration. This power can allow him to completely shut down several people's minds, making it appear as if time has stopped.

 Mind Possession: ability to possess the mind of another, and use that being's body as his own.

 Mind Alteration: ability to alter the minds of others by force of will.

 Mental Amnesia: ability to cause loss of particular memories and amnesia in another person or even in a group of people.

 Psionic Shield: ability to erect a psychic shield for protection of himself and of other minds.

 Psionic Blasts: can project psionic force bolts which have no physical effects but which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness and can even kill an adversary.

 Astral Projection: ability to Astral Travel and communicate with others astrally through his own will, or through contact with the thoughts and memories of others. In the astral realm, he can use his powers to create "ectoplasmic" objects. He cannot engage in long range astral projection on the earthly plane.

 Mental Detection: can sense the presence of another superhuman mutant within a small but as yet undefined radius of himself by perceiving the distinctive mental radiations emitted by such a being.

 Mind Transferral: able to transfer both his mind and powers into other host bodies if his own physical body could be somehow killed.

 Absorb Information: ability to quickly process and store information, by mental transference.
Professor X formerly also possessed low-level telekinetic abilities, though these seem to no longer exist. They seem to be part of his genes however, as Cassandra Nova has telekinetic abilities and is basically a clone of Xavier.

Telekinesis: Possesses telekinetic abilities enabling him to manipulate matter on a low level with the energy of his thoughts.

Abilities
Genius-level Intellect: A natural genius, Xavier is a leading authority on genetics, mutation, and psionics. He possesses considerable expertise in other life sciences. He is highly talented in devising equipment for utilizing and enhancing psionic powers. Xavier is also quite the masterful tactician and strategist, effectively evaluating situations and devising swift responses;

Military Training: Charles served in the United States Military, secretly employing his abilities to specialize in search and rescue missions.

Expert Fighter: In his travels in the East, he became a proficient hand-to-hand combatant and gained knowledge of pressure points.

Knowledge of the body: As an extension of his studies of pressure points, Xavier's knowledge of the body and its energies/chakras has gained him the unofficial degree of a seasoned Zen master, allotting him the ability to keep in the prime of his physique. In spite of his age, he has maintained an impressive olympic chassis long since before he founded the X-Men and X-Corp, and has kept himself in perfect condition ever since.
Strength level
Strength of a normal man his age and size who engages in moderate regular exercise, mostly in his upper body.

Jennifer Harolds
Jennifer let out one of her screams and managed to cause people to drop their phones and the soldiers to let go of their guns for a second, she watched as everyone scrambled to gather their things and she turned to run but the other guy wasn't going to. "That was a perfect chance to escape!" She shouted at him, suddenly another woman was behind them, she was wearing a clay mask and it slightly freaked Jennifer out but she had no time to resist as she was pulled into a shadow and then appeared at the Xavier mansion, she was lying on grass.
"What the hell just happened?" She managed to cough, the shadow travel gave her a bit of vertigo as she tried to stand. "This is Xavier's mansion isn't it?" She asked the woman in the clay mask, Jennifer's british accent came through very strong and she knew that being here, she was at risk of Annabelle seeing her.

Annabelle Greyson
Annabelle sat under a tree and just closed her eyes, taking in deep breaths as she focused on setting up mental barriers around Aurora, although Aurora was fighting back and trying to destroy the barriers with her own telepathy, if they weren't on the same power level Annabelle would be having a hard time containing Aurora but she managed it, all she needed was for Xavier to help her set up more powerful barriers.
Annabelle suddenly sensed a familiar person, someone from England. She quickly got up and went to investigate, she turned a corner of the mansion and saw Ace and Ryan, he was in his true form and it slightly frightened Annabelle but then she saw a familiar head of blond and pink hair and immediately knew who it was.
'Jennifer!' She called and ran over to her, hugging her.

Jennifer willingly hugged her baby sister back and then released her and turned back to Ace, Annabelle then smiled to Ace and Ryan.
'Hi guys, this is my sister, Jennifer.' she introduced them using her telepathy. 'Jennifer, this is Ace, in the clay mask, and Ryan, in his true form.'

Name: Alex Minho [alias: DJ Flow]

Ethnicity: Korean

Gender: Male

Mutant Power:

Telepath with the ability to produce psionic sound waves used to create music. This sound is not made from vibrations in the air but occurs in the mind. The psionic sounds can be produced at any frequency to create pleasant sounds or harsh screeching noises capable of driving the target into disorientation. Currently he is unable to read minds with his telepathy but he can block another from probing his thoughts by musically drowning out their telepathic probe.

Philip Klein, Hideki Matsuzaka, Kyle Jean-Claude, Vincent Xavier, Peter Rasputin

The club was in an uproar due to the disturbance at the front door of the establishment. Several swat members rushed into the club to apprehend DJ Flow. “It seems that whoever held them off at the front of the building is gone.” Vincent commented.

The swat members knocked people aside in the crowd and DJ Flow attempted to escape. Philip tossed a handful of marble sized time-bombs at the feet of the swat team. The glowing orbs caught their attention and exploded at their feet. They fell to the ground and the DJ ran past them toward the exit. Vincent, Colossus, Philip, Hideki and Kyle all followed behind.

One of the club goers that was an Anti-Mutant sympathizer realized what was happening and quickly took action. He turned to the crowd and shouted, “Hey they’re running from the HMR, they’ve got to be mutants!! Come on guys don’t let those freaks escape!! The man rallied several others into joining his cause and the group blocked the DJ and the X-men’s path.

Vincent and the group stopped. “Hey don’t hate on us guys. Jealousy never got anyone anywhere good.” Kyle said as clutched his fists and began to float a bit off of the ground, ready to attack.

Hideki smirked and flipped his pink vintage 90’s shades over his eyes, “Yeah bro, it’s time for some crowd control…” His hands began to generate sparkles as he prepared to fire at the opposition.

Vincent was appalled. “Have you two lost your minds? We’re X-men! We will not harm human civilians! Is that clear?” Vincent fussed at Hideki and Kyle.

Colossus shrugged his shoulders in confusion. “I agree Mr. Xavier, but how are we to be getting past our not so friendly friends?” Colossus asked.

DJ Flow looked back at the X-men, halfway turned but still keeping an eye on the angry mob before them. “You guys are the X-men huh? I’ve heard of you, I thought about joining your school once. You guys can’t hurt them, but I’m no X-man so your ideal little rule doesn’t apply to me.” DJ Flow commented and then touched his temples. He created sharp high pitched noises in the minds of those in their way. The other could not hear what those under DJ Flow’s telepathy could hear. The victims of DJ Flow’s psionic assault fell to the floor in pain and mental agony.

“I can’t hear anything.” Kyle commented.

Vincent replied, “Nor do you want to hear what they hear. Let’s go now. The Swat soldiers are getting up and it’s past time we leave.” The group, including DJ Flow, bolted past the staggering people and left the club. They all hopped in the X-van and sped off toward the mansion.

Once the group reached the mansion they all entered. Philip realized he hadn’t even asked the DJ if he wanted to come to the X-mansion or not. “I’m Sorry DJ Flow, I didn’t ask if you wanted me to drop you off somewhere before we returned here. I can drive you home if you want.” Philip said.

DJ Flow replied, “Please call me Alex, my name is Alex Minho. It’s late and I don’t much feel safe going back to my apartment while the government is after me. I mean, the bartender told me that those guys had a tip off that I was a mutant. Who knows if they know where I live?”

At that moment Professor Xavier approached the group. “You may stay here if you like Alex. I’m Professor Charles Xavier and this is my school for gifted students. I have been picking up a heightened level of mutant activity using Cerebro tonight. You also showed up in its files. You have a very unique gift Alex, with the right training, you needn’t fear for your safety. The X-men and I can help you.” Charles explained.

Alex felt at ease when he met the professor. “I think I’ll stick around for a while, at least until it’s safe. Until then I guess I can help out if you need it.” Alex replied.

Soon the group ran into Ryan, Annabelle and Jenifer. Alex (DJ Flow) was surprised to see Jenifer at the X-mansion. “Jenifer you’re here too?” He smiled, it was good to see a familiar face.

The professor had shook Jenifer’s hand. “It’s good to see Jenifer. I hope you feel we’ve taken good care of Annabelle.” After a few moments the professor explained what Fuyumi, Stinger, and Joanna had reported to him regarding the incident at the mall. “It seems that there has been increased discrimination against mutants by the government and the HMR. I want everyone to vigilant and try not to draw attention to your powers. I expect that we will also begin to see an increase of violence from both mutants and humans alike. We must remember that the X-men will strive to be a voice of reason in such times of chaos.” The professor explained to the group.

Magneto

“Where is the Professor, I would like to tell him of my arrival. As well as what has happened while I was gone.” Emily’s words came out a bit slurred

I believe Charles said he wanted to scan about using Cerebro tonight since he had some free time. He’s is most likely there. Earlier I had hoped that he and I could go out and get a bite to eat together but he’s a bit more of a workaholic than I am. We can go see him if you like. I’m sure he’d love to speak with you again.”

As Eric and Emily spoke casually he noticed Ace quietly approach the two. “Eric (giving him a brief nod then turned towards Emily) well it’s good to see you’re back Emily. And right on time too a lot of people are high-strung due to recent events so do bless us with that music of yours.” Patting Emily on her shoulder who smiled at Ace.

Emily smiled at the woman but then looked over towards Eric. “Who was that? I don’t think I know that woman. But would it be alright for me to play tonight is there anything you and the Professor think I should play?” she signed as well as spoke though not very loudly.

Eric chuckled a bit. “That’s Ace. I don’t know why she insists on wearing that clay mask about. Even Charles has trouble figuring her out.” Magneto joked. To most in the mansion, it was nice to see Magneto smiling and at ease. “It’s always very much a pleasure to her you play my dear. As for what to play… anything you like would be suitable. However if I had to choose, I’d say my personal favorite Sonata, Op. 72.” Eric smiled brightly, he was a true gentleman. When he wasn’t acting as a mutant dictator any woman could see his classy and gentlemanly appeal.

Logan, Sabertooth, David North, Pietro

Agent Six’s arm suddenly swung outwards one small finger pointed at Victors face. “Hush mutt, I can see” were her only words and they held no emotion to them.

Victor began to chuckle in a most sinister manner. “Who does that little bitch think she’s talking to?” He fought to speak through his laughter. Victor was surprised at the tiny mutant’s boldness as well insulted that she felt brave enough to threaten him.

David patted Victor on the shoulder. “Now now, watch your language. We’re in a school remember. Besides we have fun awaiting us. Take your frustration out through the right outlet.” He said with a smug smile as his hand slid from victor’s shoulder to his chest, formed a fist and gave him a light playful punch there. As they walked away he spoke to Canaan, “Later Tiger.”

A few moments later they arrived in the War room where Logan sat watching TV and drinking. “Logan… just who we wanted to see.” David said while smoothly striding over toward Logan. He playfully sat down on Logan’s lap and Logan quickly punched David in the kidney causing him to fall off to the floor. “AH!! FUCK Logan!! Ahhh…. Can’t you take a goddamn joke?! Oww… an adamantium fist to the fucking kidney….” David complained as he slowly stood to his feet. Had he not had a mutant healing factor he’d been seriously injured.

Logan replied with a playful smirk, “Well North, I can take a joke but given your track record I can never be too careful.” Logan winked at David and took another drink as he stood from the chair. “Alright you two, what do you want?”

Victor took a drink from one of the bottles Logan hadn’t yet touched. “We want to train in the danger room. We need you to open it for us.”

“Not without supervision you two don’t.” Logan replied taking another drink.

“Oh of course Logan. We want you to have a little sparring match with us. Gym equipment don’t fight back, and we’d ask someone else but David and I are afraid that we’d kill anyone else in a sparring match except you that is.” Victor replied with a grin.

Logan’s face lit up. “Well listen to you, ‘David and I’, you two have been around each other for waaay too long bub. Hahaha… Look I’ll do it but only because I’ve been itching for a chance to kick the shit out of you two lovebirds. Let’s go.” Logan replied and headed toward the Danger Room.

On the way there they ran into Pietro. “Hey what are you boys up to? It’s kinda weird seeing you three all chummy with one another. Really stop it.” Pietro joked, now walking with the group. After Logan explained the situation Pietro replied, “Oh… I’ve got to see this! I’ll operate the system from the control room. No worries my father taught me how to operate it all, of course we argued the whole time but whatever. However, won’t Cyclops flip a fat bitch over if he finds out?”

“You might be afraid of Scott I ain’t. I do, what I wanna do.” Logan replied and moved forward. They four entered the danger room and the fight between Logan, Victor and David was on.

Scott Summers and Jean Grey

Scott and Jean had went out on a quiet date. The two had seen a movie earlier and now they were finishing up dinner at their favorite restaurant. A member of the HMR had entered the restaurant and began to survey the patrons regarding their status. The owners could do nothing to prevent the survey due to government blocks on business countermeasures. “Jean this looks like trouble.” Scott said as he watched the representative approach their table.

Jean replied, “Scott I know exactly what that is and I’m not signing it.” She placed her cell phone into her purse in preparation to leave. Scott placed money down for the check.

“Excuse me may I have a bit of your time?” The HMR rep asked but continued on talking before Scott and Jean could respond. “I am performing a government issued survey regarding mutant status and registration. I’m going to ask if you would take a few moments to feel this out.”

“Umm… sure but I don’t have a pen on me. Honey do you have a pen in your purse?” Scott asked.

“Nope not at all.” Jean replied as she flipped open her small pocketbook to check superficially.

“Oh that’s alright I’ve come equipped with one.” The rep said with a big fake smile.

“It’s great to be prepared.” Jean replied in a snarky tone. She took the pen and clipboard and began to use her telekinesis to keep the ink from leaving the pen thus not appearing not to work. “It’s not writing. Uh oh…” Jean tried to hold back her smirk.

Scott looked down at his watch impatiently, “You know we really gotta go. Can you please hurry this up?”

“Funny this pen was just working. Well… let me ask a waiter for one, it’ll just be a moment folks.” The rep said nervously and hurried off to ask for a pen. Scott and Jean quickly left the restaurant and drove off in Scotts car.

“Gosh darn it. Why can’t we have one night out without hassle. I didn’t want to get caught up in any mutant human politics. I just wanted it to be me and you, watching movies, dining out, and making love. Mood killed…” Scott fussed in frustration as he drove them toward the mansion.

Jean giggled. “You really are more uptight since I left, Logan was right.” Jean replied.

Scott frowned up, “Logan said what? I knew I shouldn’t have encouraged you to skype with him while you were away. What else did the jerk say?” Scott was not very happy and he was embarrassed.

“Well he said you really missed me and that he could tell you needed to be close with someone you cared about a lot to make you feel better. And since I wasn’t able to be there, Logan was your next best friend although you’d hate to admit that.” Jean explained knowing Scott would get even fussier.

“What!? I did not!” Scott replied loudly.

Jean laughed aloud. “Your mind just said ‘oh shit… he picked up on that?’ so yes you did Scott. Look Logan told me you had even him worried with how much you started hanging about with him. You needed a friend, and Logan didn’t give you a hard time about it because he’s your friend too. I think your little bromance is cute.” Jean giggled.

Scott’s face turned red as he drove home. “Alright… alright It’s true okay. I missed you so much and It felt better to be around someone who… who understood exactly home much it felt to miss every second of Jean Grey when she’s not around. I hate to admit this but Logan is the only guy who knows how that feels.” Scott said in a calmer tone.

Jean grew silent as she was taken aback by Scott’s words. Logan’s affections for Jean were most always a taboo subject around Scott. Yet he was openly and honestly talking about it. This also made Jean fight to suppress her feelings for Logan. Jean loved Scott hands down, but Logan was a forbidden love for Jean, one she could never have. “I’m sorry for teasing you Scott. I understand. Logan didn’t mean any harm in what he said you know.”

Scott sighed, “I know. Looking back on it I should thank him for putting up with me huh.” Scott began to smile.

Jean replied just before she was about to get out of the now parked convertible, “Yeah I think Logan would greatly and silently appreciate that.” The two laughed and hugged as they walked into the mansion.

Annabelle Greyson and Jennifer Harolds

Jennifer smiled at Ryan when Annabelle introduced them. “Don’t worry, I near deafened you, you’re allowed to be pissed.” Jennifer shrugged with a light-hearted smile before turning to see Alex. “Oh my god!” she pulled him into a hug and let out a sigh of relief. “Thank god, you got out.” she looked over her shoulder to see if Ace was within earshot. “I got teleported her by someone called Ace, I think. She doesn’t seem to like me or Annabelle.” she said with a shrug. Jennifer looked to the other behind Alex and smiled to them. “Thanks for helping him out of there.” She thanked them and then turned to the Professor, shaking his hand. “I never doubted you, Charles, this is as much a surprise to you as it is to me. I didn’t plan to come here for awhile anyway.” She smiled to the man that saved her sister.
Xavier then told them what he had heard from around the city, from what it seemed. “So wait, this is happening all over the city?” Jennifer asked stepping forward. “There’s still people out there, mutants who’ll be detained and arrested just for being who they are. We can’t just let that happen.” She spoke up, not wanting anymore people to get hurt, human or mutant.

Annabelle smiled at Ryan when he reverted back to his human form, it was hard to believe someone so cute could turn into something so ferocious, she then noticed Xavier and the others approaching, there was a man with them she didn’t recognize. Annabelle stepped up to introduce Xavier to Jennifer but they seemed to already know each other and it confused her, until he asked whether Jennifer thought they were taking good enough care of Annabelle and immediately knew it was her that applied for Annabelle. He then informed them of what was happening around the city. “They’ll all be okay, won’t they? she asked, telepathically. “There’s other schools and safe places, like with Miss Frost and the Morlocks.” Annabelle had no clue as to where they actually based themselves and assumed they based themselves within the city due to their history with the X-men. She grabbed Jennifer’s arm and used her empathy to calm her down a bit, her empathy was used during the last few seconds of her telepathic broadcast and caused a slight absorption of everyone’s personalities, a few more blond strands appeared within her brunette hair.

After Annabelle had introduced them, Jennifer spoke to Ryan. “Don’t worry, I near deafened you, you’re allowed to be pissed.” Jennifer shrugged with a lighthearted smile. Ryan laughed it off. "How could you have known my ears were highly sensitive? Just remember for next time, ok?" Ryan asked nicely, he smiled playfully.

Turning to Ryan, Ms. Ace lightly hit the back of his head. It didn't hurt too much, but she definitely let Ryan know what was on her mind. He pretended to rub it, as if it had actually hurt, and made an overly aggrieved face, his bottom lip hanging out as if she'd hit a puppy. “How many times do I have to tell you not to call me 'Ms.' in public. I’m not your teacher outside of the classroom; you make me feel old Tonto.” Despite her irritated words a slight smile formed on her face, glad that Ryan was alright. Ryan smiled, and laughed sheepishly. "Heh heh heh, Sorry, I won't do it again." He laughed. “I’d say sorry for the ride but I’m not that sentimental. Your teeth don’t bother me I’ve seen worse.” Ryan nodded. His apologetic attitude irritated some at the mansion, and endeared him to others.

One such mutant, Annabelle, smiled at Ryan when he reverted back to his human form. As she turned to look at something Ryan followed her gaze. It was Vincent and the others! Immediately a giant grin took over what was left of his face, Ryan bounded over to the group and tackled them, pulling them into a great big hug. "I'm so glad to see you! A lot happened today and I really wanted to be with you guys, and then..." Ryan said stopping himself and letting them go. He shyly took a step backwards. "I'm sorry about what happened down at the club you were at. They were going to arrest somebody inside just for being a mutant. It made me so angry... I... I just couldn't contain it any longer. I don't think I hurt anybody, but I'm sure I scared the crap out of at least one person." He chuckled sheepishly. "I didn't make too much trouble for you, did I?" he asked, looking to Vincent.

Just before anyone could explain the situation from their end to Ryan, Professor Xavier spoke up, warning them all of the incidents happening around town. He informed them of what was happening around the city, and it made Ryan angry. It was that same unreasonable anger that Ryan experienced down at the club. He shut his eyes and ground his teeth together. He balled his hands into fists. As much as he tried not to think about how stupid the HMR was, or what might happen to other mutants, he couldn't help himself. His ears began to lengthen and his eyes became slits. Scales began forming around his temples, and little nubby horns began to sprout there. His fingers slowly sharpened into claws and his canine teeth became longer. His eyes turned gold and then he noticed that several people had their eyes on him. He smiled shyly before reverting the process on his own. He slid his hands through his hair, which had returned to its not-so-shaggy state. "Sorry about that, I'm under control, it's ok." Ryan said reassuringly. Though he played it cool, Ryan was very worried. What about Memory and Jonathan, where were they on a night like tonight? What about Scott and Jean? They'd gone out together as well. Ryan hoped they were alright. As if to voice his concerns, Annabelle made herself known. “They’ll all be okay, won’t they?" she asked, telepathically. “There’s other schools and safe places, like with Miss Frost and the Morlocks.” Someone else spoke up, and alleviated Ryan's fears. Hopefully, no one else would have to suffer tonight.

Vincent, Philip, Hideki, Kyle, and Peter approached the group not long before Xavier informed everyone of the happenings around town. They saw the other congregated about and were relieved to see who was present. It seemed that anything was bound to happen tonight with out on the town and it was simply not safe for mutants. Vincent greeted everyone. “Evening all. I’m glad to see you all are safe and sound here. It’s a mad house out there.”

Ryan bounded over to the group and tackled them, pulling them into a great big hug. "I'm so glad to see you! A lot happened today and I really wanted to be with you guys, and then..." Kyle was glad to see Ryan but he was also vainly concerned about not messing up his model-esque hair style. Hideki was happy that Ryan was his jovial self yet sad that he couldn’t dance with them at the club like he wanted. Peter chuckled in happiness he liked Ryan’s vigor. Peter was a pretty positive guy and enjoyed being around those that were similar.

Ryan said stopping himself and letting them go.

DJ Flow replied, “The one under arrest was me. Thanks for saving me. You really helped me big time. I was freaking out back there.” He was grateful to Ryan for his aide.

After Charles’ explanation regarding the HMR’s activities, Ryan seemed to become quite upset. Vincent felt bad about all of this. He knew how he wished he could deal with the situation, with violence, but that way was the wrong way. He needed to remember to keep his feelings under control. Bad things were happening to mutants but the best way to overcome is to put your best foot forward and show the other side fairness and rightness. Once they open their eyes change will come. Vincent wished it was as simple as knocking a few bullies around and getting them to back off but this was far more complex and volatile a situation than that.

"Sorry about that, I'm under control, it's ok." Ryan said reassuringly. Vincent smiled at Ryan and placed a reassuring hand on Ryan’s shoulder.

Philip looked quite frustrated as well. He let out a rough sigh. “AHHH…. This is just so wrong! It’s things like this that make me wish I had not come to this country. Germany was bad but this is a completely different level.” Philip’s hand began to glow as he held on of his marble sized time bombs. He calmed himself and reabsorbed the energy before it detonated. He didn’t want to harm anyone nearby.

Charles then recommended that everyone try to take it easy in the mansion for the evening and avoid going out until he was able to do a probe of the city’s activities with Cerebro. Eric scanned the group with his eyes trying to get a check on who was there and who wasn’t. Scott, Jean, Logan, Pietro, Victor, David, Jonathan, Memory, Cain, Cara, Fuyumi, Wendy, Joanna, and Kent were all still not around. Charles reassured Eric. “Logan, Victor, David and Pietro are in the Danger Room although I am not the biggest fans of that particular combination of mutants being gathered there of all places. Fuyumi, Joanna, and Wendy are headed back from the mall. They should be back shortly. Scott and Jean just pulled up and are entering the mansion gates.

Just as Scott and Jean got out of the car, they encountered Cain and Cara. Scott turned to acknowledge the duo. “Ah Cain, Cara, It’s good to see you’re alright. You didn’t happen to have a run in with-” Scott was cut off by Cain.

“The Humans? Yes we fought a whole bar full of those monster homo-sapiens.” Cain replied trying to remain calm. He didn’t mean to put Scott and Jean off but tonight’s incident really angered him.

Scot arched an eyebrow, “Actually the term I was going to use was the House of Mutant Registration. However I see you have. We should inform the professor. It seems things are growing out of control about town tonight.”

Cain replied in a kinder manner, “He already knows so no worries. I’m glad that you and Jean are alright as well.” Cain gave a smile. He also once more grabbed hold of Cara’s hand, exchanging a glance with her. “You two should take it easy. Aren’t you still supposed to be on your date night?” Cain smirked.

Scott was quite surprised that he remembered from their earlier conversation. He seemed to notice Cain’s closeness with Cara. It was unusual for Cara to act so… submissive of sorts. Jean commented with a smile, “Indeed we are Mr. Lehnsherr. And it looks like we’re not the only ones.” Jean gave Cain and Cara a playful wink. “We should double date sometime.” Jean added.

Scott looked a bit nervous. He remembered the times when Cara flirted with him in a rather provocative manner. He was pretty sure she wasn’t serious and was trying to get a rise out of him, and she succeeded. Scott pretty vividly remembered the shadow mutant’s seductive touch on his body and how he almost gave into her wiles. Jean wasn’t blind to Scott’s experience and struggle with looking at Cara without being terrorized by that memory. However she was confident that Scott wouldn’t actually cross the line with Cara. They simply weren’t compatible. However if Cara was Emma Frost, Jean would worry some, but that was a different matter altogether. The Four entered the mansion and met with the professor and the others. Fuyumi, Wendy, and Joanna also returned to the mansion.

Meanwhile, in the Danger Room, things got quite heated in the fight between Logan, Sabertooth and David. Logan and Victor slashed at one another viciously, fists pounding each other into submission, bodies ready and raring to take such punishment, and keep going. David was almost untouchable taking pop-shots off of Logan, from the ground, walls, and ceiling, as he dealt with Victor’s brutal full frontal assault. “WHY YOU EGG SUCKING PIECE OF GUTTER TRASH!! You can’t have it out with me without your little boyfriend to hold your blood ridden hand huh? Fine by me bub!!” Logan retorted.

Victor replied in a sarcastic chuckle, “Well playtime is much more fun when you invite friends over Logan. You’d know that if you actually had any real friends.”

At that moment Pietro activated the Danger Room’s highest level of training exercises. The protocol however was altered to attack Sabertooth and David. An energy beam fired and connected with Victors back. Pietro taunted the duo from the control room. “Did I forget to mention that I was on Logan’s team? Oops~! HAHAHAHa…..”

“You little hyperactive traitor! What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” David replied angrily.

Pietro laughed maniacally, “Choosing the better side silly!! And I thought you were smart… I guess love really is blind huh North?”

David responded by pulling out a mini rocket and fired it at the control room window. The impact caused a huge explosion that made a boom that could be heard all over the mansion. The glass was nearly indestructible so fortunately for Pietro, he wasn’t hurt. Scott heard the noise and wiped around. “What the hell was that?” Scott asked.

“It came from the danger room.” Jean replied.

“Gosh can’t Wolverine ever stay out of trouble?” Kyle commented in a snarky manner.

“Look who’s talking Marvel…” Eric replied with a raised eyebrow. Kyle wasn’t the best for keeping out of trouble himself and everyone knew it.

The group raced to the danger room. Scott had everyone grab hold of each other as he placed a hand on Fuyumi’s shoulder. She proceeded to phase everyone through the locked Danger Room doorway. “It’s a war zone in here! Logan what the hell were you thinking?!” Scott yelled.

Ryan smiled as he felt Vincent's hand on his shoulder. "Thanks Vince." Ryan smiled. "You don't have to say it. I know. Bullies like these require a different kind of response." Ryan smiled. "That's what you and Professor X always say. I did take your ethics class." Ryan explained, smiling impishly. As he finished, a man Ryan didn't recognize spoke up. “The one under arrest was me. Thanks for saving me. You really helped me big time. I was freaking out back there.” He was genuinely grateful. Ryan smiled. "Glad I could be of use. My scaly hide isn't good for much else." Ryan smirked playfully. "Ryan." He said, extending his hand to shake. "Nice to meet you Mr?..." Ryan asked, introducing himself, waiting for this new friend to offer his name as well. The man introduced himself and Ryan smiled. "It's very nice to meet you." Ryan then switched his attention to Professor Xavier, who spoke, addressing the group.

Professor Xavier recommended that everyone try to take it easy in the mansion for the evening and avoid going out until he was able to do a probe of the city’s activities with Cerebro. Meanwhile, Professor Lensherr scanned the group with his eyes trying to get a check on who was there and who wasn’t. “Logan, Victor, David and Pietro are in the Danger Room although I am not the biggest fans of that particular combination of mutants being gathered there of all places. Fuyumi, Joanna, and Wendy are headed back from the mall. They should be back shortly. Scott and Jean just pulled up and are entering the mansion.". Ryan smiled wide when he heard Jean was back. He was excited to see her again. As she walked up to the group with Scott, Ryan ran up to her, threw his arms around her waist, and smiled. "I'm glad you're home safely." Ryan said, his smile massively wide. "I'm glad you're home too Scott." Ryan said, addressing Cyclops. He shyly stepped away from Jean and addressed Scott. "It's getting more than a little scary out there. I'd hate to be a mutant without somewhere safe to call home." At that exact moment, Ryan's ears perked up and Scott's head whipped around. Something had just exploded in the Danger Room, the force of it shook the mansion. Ryan sighed. He sniffed hard. "It's Professor Logan and that predator, Sabertooth. North might be with them, I smell the gunpowder on him, but he has no smell himself." Ryan stated the facts nonchalantly, as if everyone might know them.

Scott ordered everyone to hold hands and Professor Fuyumi phased them through the floor to the door in front of the Danger Room. Ryan smelled gunpowder and sweat. It was like a war zone in there. He was walking through the door when he heard the ding behind him. Someone had used the elevator. Ryan's ear perked, and his nostrils widened. He smelled acrylic paint and a sort of river-y kind of smell. Not like dead fish, but like flowing water and green grass. He whipped his head around and saw a familiar sight. It was Jonathan! Ryan smiled wide. Ryan wanted to call out to him, but the elevator door closed before Ryan could.

Ryan squeezed Jean's hand, he'd been holding onto her when Professor Fuyumi had phased them through the floor. Ryan had maintained a gentle grip on his surrogate mother's hand while the group walked into the Danger Room control booth. Ryan smiled. "For once, I don't want in on this Danger Room session." Ryan smirked. He turned around and walked right back out the Danger Room door. Ryan lowered to all fours and let himself go. His skin became dark and scaly. His ears and teeth lengthened and became pointed. Horns sprouted from his temples and his eyes turned golden and slitted. The best way to get to where Jonathan was, was through a window after taking some stairs. So that's exactly what he did. Ryan followed his nose to Jonathan's scent, taking some stairs, jumping through a window, running around the Mansion, and climbing a tree to peek through the window in the room Jonathan was in. As he looked, Ryan noticed the song he was hearing for the first time. There were two people playing. It was a piano and a cello, twining their sounds together in perfect harmony. It was beautiful. Ryan couldn't help himself, he started to hum along with the song. It was one he remembered. It was often played at the mansion, being the favorite of several students and teachers. When the song was finished, Ryan poked his head through the window. "That was so beautiful. Thank you." Turning to Jonathan, Ryan spoke up. "Hi! I'm glad you're back safely. It's a nightmare out there for mutants, what with the HMR surveying us and basically rounding us up. Also, I think I left my backpack with you a while ago. I want my backpack and my painting back." Ryan said to Jonathan, smirking. "Did you perchance take it to your room."

Kent Van-Pelt

Kent had finished the evenings broadcast and exited the set of the news room. He noticed the faces of some of his co-workers. They seemed quite nervous for him after having stood up to the HMR on national television. Kent packed his things and went home to his condo however it was broken into and vandalized horribly. On the large glass window that had a view of the city was spray painted “MUTANT LOVER GO TO HELL!!” Kent knew that it was no longer safe for him to be there. He packed up a few things and drove to the X-mansion where he knew there was always a place for him.

[At the X-mansion]

Logan replied in a snarky manner, “What does it look like ruby red, I’m letting out a little frustration on thing one and thing two over here. Now BUT OUT!”

Professor Charles cut in, “I want this brawl to stop now! Logan you know better than this. I do not permit stand offs against other students you know that.”

Logan let out a heavy sigh. Victor chuckled under his breath. However Charles not only reprimanded Logan but Victor and David as well. “Victor and David, I expect better from you both as well. Victor you especially could learn to control your rages.”

Victor’s laughing came to s quick halt. “Look wimp, I ain’t one of your puny little students! So you can take your cheap psychiatric advice and chuck it.” Victor snarled.

Logan shouted, “You’re outta line Bub!” He pointed his claws at Victor in warning.

Kyle crossed his arms and took a couple of steps forward, smirking. He was in line next to the professor now. “I could take a little steam out of old tiger eyes, just to cool him off a bit if you want professor.”

Victor smiled devilishly, “Oh your pretty little dead carcass would need some cooling time in the morgue once I’m done with you.”

Hideki stepped forward beside Kyle, “BACK OFF!! I’m warning you…” Hideki said as bright flashes and flares crackled and popped around his hands.

David stepped forward, “Ah ah ah… you’d better play nice.” He threatened as he pointed a pistol at Hideki.

Scott immediately took action. He would never allow such a blatant threat on a student’s life to pass. He shot an optic blast at the gun however David ducked and dodged out of the way rather effortlessly, hand still steady and now aimed at Scott. David took two steps closer and fired a shot at Scott. The bullet was stopped by Jean telekinetically.

Eric frowned strongly. He levitated the weapon out of North’s hand and crumpled it into a little ball of metal. “Charles said enough! If you cannot obey then you shall be forced into submission!!” Eric said angrily. He dropped the crumpled mass of metal to the ground and it made a loud clunk.

Cain levitated the metal ball and shaped it into a sharp spearhead. He made it shoot past David’s head and it launched into a wall behind him. “We mutants should not be fighting each other. It’s bad enough that the humans are out for our blood but you’re acting no better.”

David simply rolled his eyes and headed for the door of the danger room. He placed a hand on Hideki’s shoulder, “Sorry Matsuzaka. I guess I lost my cool there.” David turned to the Professor and Eric, “My apologies, I’ve been a rude guest. You should have a problem out of me any further.”

Scott frowned, “Aren’t you forgetting somebody?” He said in an annoyed manner.

“Oh yeah, my bad Cyclops.” David said with a smirk and a wink.

Joanna was quite annoyed. “Really North? Ugh… this is ridiculous. You four (Logan, Pietro, Victor, and David.) should really grow up.” She said as she rolled her eyes and opened the danger room door. She heard the sweet music rushing into the danger room and was captivated. “What in the world…?” she said in confusion.

Fuyumi turned around as well, “That music… where is it coming from? It’s so beautiful.” She said with a smile on her face.

Eric smiled as well. That would be Emily’s doing.”, he replied.

Everyone followed the sound of the music towards Dr. Coleridge. The negative energy simply melted away and everyone felt pretty harmonious. Cain smiled peacefully. “If only this could be played for the world to hear. They would all lay down their hatred and reason with one another peacefully.” He said calmly.

Vincent replied. “As lovely as that sounds, it could be taken as mind control once someone realizes the true nature behind the music.”

Philip stepped closely toward Vincent and said quietly, “Speaking of love and peace… let’s go to bed and make a little love~ Xavier…” Philip smirked devilishly.

Vincent blushed redly. “Well, everyone with that I’m off to bed now. Night all! And Lovely solo Dr. Coleridge!” Vincent said as he pulled Philip by the hand and out of the room.

Kent had arrived at the mansion with his suitcase. He easily found Charles as he simply followed the music. Once he found Charles and the others he told them what happened. “I hope I can take shelter here once more.”

Charles hugged Kent. “Of course you can! You will always have a home here. You know that Kent.” He said.

“Thank you Professor.” Kent replied with a relieved smile.

Logan pated Kent on the back reassuringly, “Good to have you home buddy.” He smiled. Logan always had a fondness for Kent. Logan never warmed up to anyone easily but it took him absolutely no time with Kent. Perhaps it was Kent’s easy going nature. Kent never pushed things too hard or was overbearing in any way. Logan liked that about him. Honestly there was a time Logan pushed for Charles to make Kent the X-men Team Leader instead of Scott. However Kent declined and Charles had firmly decided that Scott was the ideal candidate, much to Logan’s dismay.

Most everyone began to retreat to their quarters. David headed down the hall Victor at his side. They were headed to nearly the same place as their rooms were right next to one another. David saw Memory, Ryan and Jonathan. He smiled at the sight of her. He approached her from behind and placed a peck on her cheek. “Hi there beautiful.” He said with a cute smile.

Victor sighed and shook his head tiredly. He didn’t stop but kept walking. “Why don’t you flirt with chicks remotely closer to your age range North?”

“Don’t wait up for me Victory honey.” David replied to Victor sarcastically. David glanced at Ryan and Jonathan with a smile. “Hi ho fellas.” David didn’t mean to put anyone off, he had done his share of that tonight. He genuinely wanted to be friendly to the three, especially Memory.

Down the hallway a bit further walked Logan and Hideki. Their conversation could be heard a bit off from where they were. Hideki pulled at Logan’s arm beggingly. “Logan…com’on!! I’m creeped out by the HMR!! They know this place if full of mutants! Who knows whether or not they would raid this place. Please… let me crash with you tonight!!” Hideki begged.

Logan frowned in annoyance. He knew that Hideki was being overly clingy for the reason that he usually was, because Hideki had a crush on him. “How old are you again Matsuzaka?”

Hideki replied, “Please Logan! If anyone would sense a soldier sneaking up on him, it would be you. Rooming with the Professor is out of the question, Vincent is getting a leg over with Phillip so that’s a no go. I don’t really know Cain all that well and it would be… more than awkward. I’m not so sure about Annabelle’s telepathic skills yet and we don’t really know one another. Jean’s with Scott and three’s a crowd anyway. There’s nobody left but you!”

Logan chuckled, “You forgot Victor over there. His sense of smell is just as keen as mine. Go ask him if he doesn’t mind you snuggling up to him tonight for safety.” Logan couldn’t contain the laughter.

“Are you Nuts!!?? That’s not funny Logan… You’re like one on my best friends…” Hedeki pouted.

Kyle passed the two up, “Logan please do it so Hideki will shut the hell up…” Kyle said in a tired way.

Logan looked at Hideki with squinted eyes and let out a heavy sigh. “Alright then. Grab your stuff. But you try something and I’ll punch you in the gut. You know I mean it Kiddo.” Logan said with a smile. He thought about it a bit more and he figured he could use the company. After the bout that he had with Sabertooth and North it made him think a lot about his past and his own rages. It put him in a foul mindset that wasn’t a good place for Logan to be while alone.

“Yosh!!!” Hideki replied in excitement.

Kyle commented in a snarky manner, “Looks like Hideki can die happily tonight. His dreams are partially coming true.”

Hideki frowned up in embarrassment. He quickly fired a blast toward Kyle. “SHUT-UP!! Or else I won’t miss next time!!”

Logan simply shook his head and sighed. ‘Maybe this was a mistake…’ he thought as he proceeded toward his room.

Annabelle sat up in her bed, she had to warn the professor about Aurora but she could put more people at risk if she did, Aurora may act out to avoid Xavier from detaining her but she had to do something.
Annabelle slid out from under the sheets and made her way into her private bathroom, quickly showering and using the bathroom facility, Annabelle rubbed the condensation lf the mirror and looked at the blond hair that clinged to her skin amongst all the brown. Annabelle could hear someone laughing in her head, there was definitely more blond on her head than at the start. Annabelle sighed and left the bathroom, her clothes covering her body and her hair put up in a messy bun before making her way to find the professor. She made her way down the hall as quickly as possible, rapping on the Professor's door and hoping he would be in there, even this early in the morning
"I'm in your head, just remember that." Annabelle spun around to see if anyone was behind her but she was alone in the corridor, Annabelle looked back to the Professor's door and softly hit her head off it, silently praying he'd be able to stop Aurora.

The kitchen

It seemed as if uneasiness was thick in the kitchen of the X-mansion. Hideki flashed a polite smile at Agent Six as she entered the room. Hideki didn’t quite know how to feel about her as she didn’t seem to interact much with anyone. She always seemed stoic and emotionless. Then he remembered that she was actually without emotion, supposedly. “It must be great not to have emotions in the heat of an argument like this.” He thought to himself.

Logan retuned Ace’s nod with a quiet,”Mornin’”. Logan stood watching the happening in the kitchen when Ace turned to Logan with a questioning look on her face. “So what seems to be the problem here?”

Logan let out a labored sigh. “Scott and Cara are at odds with how we should be spending this fine morning. Not all of us do good at folding our hands and sitting quietly until being told to move.” Logan explained.

Cain tried to calm Cara as it was becoming more apparent that some of the mansion’s residents were not so comfortable with the state of mutant-kind in today’s society. Just then Emily entered the kitchen and seemed to be a breath of fresh air with her cheerful disposition.

“Good Morning Doctor.” Kent replied. Several other in the room as well greeted Emily as well.

Emily approached Cain “Hello and you are?” as she extended her hand. “I wonder if he’s a telepath, that would make things so much easier” Cain could her Emily think.

Cain replied as he extended his hand, “Hello Dr. Coleridge. Fortunately I am a telepath. My name is Cain Lensherrr. You could say that I am the brother of Vincent Xavier. But Technically I am Vincent’s other half. It’s a pleasure to meet you Doctor.” Cain greeted Emily warmly. “I must say your chipper disposition is much needed on days like this, where everyone is fearful and confused. Mutant kind could learn from mutants of your inner strength.” Cain gave the doctor a connecting contact of the eyes.
Scott gave a labored sigh. He glanced up at Jean who stood near Jonathan. Scott saw the young man smile honestly at him. It made Scott feel much less burdened. Scott returned Jonathan’s smile with one of his own, a smile of relief. Jonathan’s smile was a tiny reminder of the students that Scott promised to look after and safeguard, the people he protected as if they were his brothers and sisters. Scott couldn’t allow himself to forget Xavier’s dream, one now shared by Magneto and the students of the institute.

The bickering continued, “None of us will be free until the human race is put in its place! Any one of us has more than enough power to prove that they cannot do this to us! Scott, you and Jean are still here so you yourselves have proven that. There are mutants out there scared for their lives because we’re just sitting here waiting for an old man to say that it’s ok because mutants and humans can get along and we must sit back and let them to show that we’ll roll over to whatever they fucking want! We are better than they are and it is far beyond time that someone took Magneto’s place to show them that!” Cara retorted with a burst of anger.

Hideki watched on with a racing heart. His thoughts bounced back and forth on where he stood in the battle for action against humans or for Xavier’s vision of equality. Hideki lightly bit his lip as he was in thought. He wanted to say something but he didn’t know what. When Cara said that any one of them could prove themselves a big threat to the humans it made Hideki re-evaluate his power and level of strength. The professor had once told Hideki that he was a class seven in energy projection, however Hideki never believed it for himself. He never really consider himself as strong a mutant as Scott or Cara. But he now began to ponder that perhaps he actually was a force to be reckoned with. “Why should I be afraid of those humans?” He thought to himself.

Jean noticed Jonathan turn slowly, trying badly to contain the sudden release of anger at her words.

"We are better than them? Did you seriously just say that?!" He snapped his mouth closed and drew in a quick breath, releasing it sharply. "Please, by all means, explain to me what exactly this will prove. If we take violent actions, what will we gain? Freedom?" Jonathan nodded, looking away. "Maybe." His eyes snapped back to her. "But at what cost? Countless lives will be lost in your act to prove your misplaced superiority. On both sides. And then what? How far will it go? You think it'll end with mutants just gaining their freedom?" He shook his head slowly. "Role reversal. That's it. Mutants ruling over humans. Even genocide, if the views of some were to ever be followed." Jonathan shrugged questioningly, his anger building, but surprisingly being contained. "How will that be any different than humans are now? Charles' method is the only way to ensure equal rights on both sides. To ensure that we will be treated with respect, not feared. I can see why you are pissed Cara, I truly can. I want to help those mutants as much as you. But starting talk of resorting to the kind of means Magneto would be willing to go to is helping no one right now. We need solidarity within the mutant community if we are to get through this."

Hideki was snapped out of his internal conflict at Jonathan’s response to Cara’s burst of anger. Hideki agreed with Jonathan whole heartedly. However knowing that there were so many mutants out there that thought as Cara did and as strongly as she or even stronger, how would mutants that share Xavier’s prospective stand a chance? Hideki simply wanted nothing more to do with the whole fiasco. Hideki began to speak. “I can’t do this. I can’t live in a place so torn apart by such prejudice. Things were bad before but at the rate things are going now, I can’t see the professor’s way carrying us far. Not with so many that already disagree on both sides.” Hideki lowered his head in shame. “I believe that what Jonathan said was right. However I don’t think I have the strength to stand in the middle of all of the chaos anymore. I came from a country where mutant power isn’t a thing to be ashamed of. I’m a pop star back in Japan and everyone knows I’m a mutant and is fine with that. But not here, people are filled with hatred in this country. Maybe it would be best if I went back to Japan. I’d hate to leave the Institute but I’d also hate to be a prisoner to it if it means that it’s not safe to go outside.” Hideki sighed heavily and his eyes filled with tears.

Fuyumi quickly embraced Hideki in her arms. “Please Matsuzawa-san. Don’t go. Everything will work out for the good I know it.” She said softly.

Logan frowned immediately. “Listen kiddo, I ain’t gonna have you going anywhere. Not if it means you’re running away from those HMR slime balls. I made you a promise that I’d look after you didn’t I? And if you don’t trust your partner’s promise, you should at least trust and believe in yourself. You will be fine right here because this is your home. The X-men need Flare. I need you.” Logan said the last part after clearing his throat shyly.

Hideki smiled at Logan and Fuyumi. “Thanks, and I’m sorry for freaking out there. I won’t go anywhere I promise.”

Cain added, “Besides Hideki, there is only a matter of time before that acceptance from the Japanese people becomes jealousy, or fear of your strength. What people feel is cute now they will realize is a deadly force. Hideki you’re powerful and it’s time humans recognize that. Firstly you should recognize that. All of us should embrace who and what we are. Never run from that.”

Aidan O’Doherty

“Mr O’Doherty!” Mutt answered with a smile placing his laptop to one side and jumping to his feet. “Of course but you and I both know that you don’t need me for that!” He smiled, happily shaking his hand vigorously. “Sorry, where are my manners. My name’s Mutt, Mutt Ant, I’m a mutants rights activist!” He said proudly, showing his many pins and patches of pro mutant groups across his jacket. “And a mutant expert in my free-time.” He said tapping the side of his nose, with a slight wink.

“Oh right! The professor, of course! Right this way!” the slightly mad man said before heading towards the mansion, leading slightly befuddled mutant in his wake.

Aidan was quite pleasantly surprised by the curious mutant. Aidan had lived long enough to somewhat have a sense of when he was in the presence of another mutant or not. Although it seemed that Mutt was not aware of his status as a mutant himself. Aidan was flattered that Mutt knew him. He loved to be recognized and respected. As the two entered the mansion and made their way down the halls Aidan spoke. “I’m quite impressed that you knew who I was. I must say your research must be quite impressive as well. It’s good to have talented people of your caliber on our side.” Aidan noticed a gathering in the kitchen and found it most irresistible. ”Might we have a look there. I can speak with Charles later. I think it would be much to our advantage to join this little chat they’re having in the kitchen.” Aidan said with a clever grin and soon Mutt found himself being led by Aidan to the kitchen.

As they entered the Kitchen Aidan held a rather curious grin. “Good morning all. My my doesn’t it appear that you all could use a bit of ‘The Author’s’ touch. All it takes is for me to say the words ‘and they all lived happily ever after.’ And you’ll be set and carefree.” Aidan said with a smirk.

“No thanks bub. I’d rather you not send me off into candy land with your kooky power.” Logan replied.

Kent smiled after taking a sip of his coffee. “So what brings you to the mansion Aidan?” Kent asked politely.

“The very thing that is seems you all have been violently discussing. I wanted to know Charles and Eric’s plan of action before I start taking matters into my own capable hands. I don’t want to be scolded for being too hasty now do I?”

Professor Charles Xavier

Charles woke up earlier than most everyone he spent the dawn hours scanning the world overusing Cerebro. He was wearing himself out and the day hadn’t truly begun yet. Eric awoke from slumber and he couldn’t shake the urge to check up on Charles. He knew the man better than anyone. His gut was telling him that Xavier was busy working on a solution to the current issues plaguing everyone. Eric loosely wrapped his robe around himself and started down the hall. As he was approaching Charles’ office he say Annabelle leaned up against the door. She seemed troubled.

“Annabelle, good morning. You seem to be troubled, are you alright?” Eric’s stood next to the young woman. His eyes were kind and concerned. It was times like this when he wished he had telepathy like Charles. It would make helping students easier. But he was there to supply a different sort of support than Charles. However he was to do whatever he could to help their students.

Hideki couldn’t help but notice the aura of colors emanating off of Jenifer as she danced to her music. “Well at least she hasn’t missed a beat.” He said quietly. He began to create small sparkles of light that like flickered around his hands.

Victor smiled at Annabelle when she entered the kitchen, looking a bit more put together than she did the night before. Before he could give it a second thought, he walked over to her and quietly asked her, “You alright little lady? You didn’t look so hot last night and I was wondering if you might need some help. I’m no Charles Xavier so don’t expect much though.” Victor said to Annabelle.

David grinned as Memory and Ryan entered the Kitchen coupled up like two train coaches. He walked over to the refrigerator and grabbed the note pad designated for memos and scribbled down “So M I guess Beast Boy was the better man. I respect that and I agree. We had a good run, Cheers. David North” he wrote in very precise and neat penmanship. David then folded the little note into a paper airplane and shot it towards Memory. David had keen aim and could send a projectile exactly where he wanted when he wanted. The plane landed right at M’s hand.

Jean hugged Ryan back as he embraced her. He helped her feel a lot more relaxed in the tense atmosphere. She quickly noticed his closeness with Memory and her smile widened. She prepared the two plates and whispered to Ryan “Way to go Mr. Stud.” She winked.

Cain couldn’t help but smile brightly when he saw Ryan with Memory. He was so proud to see a confident Ryan. Cain thought of Ryan as his little brother, exactly as Vincent did. “Ryan I didn’t realize you had such pretty girlfriend? I’d ask you to introduce me to her but I believe we already met.” Cain said cheerfully with one of the most lighthearted expressions he’d given all morning.

Vincent and Philip awoke as together in a carefree manner. They were glad to have found a moment to relax after the tension brewing with the HMR the night before. “Good morning Professor Xavier…” Philip said in a sultry voice, he couldn’t keep from giggling in his silliness.

Vincent playfully shoved Philip, “Oh please… you just put a bad image in my head of my father in,” Vincent stopped abruptly. “You know what? I’m not even going to finish that statement. I’d say you German boys are quite crafty aren’t you.” The two of them chuckled.

Vincent seemed to flinch for a moment. Philip noticed immediately and his smile quickly faded. “What’s wrong Vincent? Are you alright?” Philip asked, holding Vincent close.

“Nothing much, I just have a little bit of a headache. I guess I’m telepathically picking up in the mounting tension in the kitchen. It seems there’s a debate on about the current situation with the HMR. I’d better break this up…” Vincent began to get out of bed while he let out a tired sigh.

Philip responded with a devilish smirk. “Let me fix things with a little prank Herr Xavier” Philip’s German accent only increased his charm.

“Oh… Why not? It’ll be way better than me lecturing everyone on father’s methodology.” Vincent replied.

The made there way outside of the mansion after getting dressed and crept along the side of the building in order to sneak up to the kitchen window. Philip produced two handfuls of marble sized time-bombs and tossed them on the ground outside of the Kitchen window creating a popping sound akin to rapid gunfire. The people in the kitchen were all startled by the prank, some thought the HMR were really there. Cain created a protective magnetic barrier, Kent also generated a large domed force field to protect the group. However a few of them such as Logan and Victor knew full well who and what was coming, given their keen senses.

Philip and Vincent appeared in the window laughing loudly “Got ya!!” Philip chuckled.

“Mind giving us a hand inside Fuyumi?” Vincent asked her. Fuyumi pulled the two through the window via phasing. Her face looked somewhat annoyed. “Oh really you two! As if there weren’t enough tension brewing this morning!” she fussed.

Philip’s smile never faded, “Relax… See there are no guns from the HMR. So why are we pointing them at each other in here? We should all be enjoying this nice morning.” Philip replied with his German accent ever present.

Vincent chuckled, “Well at least you all are on your toes and ready for action.”

Cerebro chamber

Charles sat in the cerebro chamber scanning the city for mutant activity. With the HMR making such brash moves mutants were being pushed into acts of desperation. He could feel the emotions of fear and anger spiking in mutants across the nation. The X-men would be needed soon.

Moments later Eric entered the Cerebro chamber and addressed Charles. “What do you see Charles? Is it as bad as I feared?” He said as he approached Charles.

“Worse Eric, it’s worse than we both imagined. People are in a serious state of panic. The HMR has no clue what they unleashed upon us all. I must think of some way to help, there must be a way to convince them of the danger of their actions…” Charles said in a stressed manner.

Eric grew even more concerned. “Charles this situation is indeed dire but your state worries me most of all. You must no strain yourself. We can’t save the world, but we can help a little bit at a time.” Eric placed his hands gently on Charles’ shoulders in an attempt to guide him away from the cerebro headset.

Just then Charles got a sharp transmission of images. There were several attacks on HMR facilities by Mutants and it seems that the Morlocks have followed the lead of the main aggressors. Charles explained the happening to Eric, whom held Charles as he had almost collapsed under the strain of the Cerebro transmission. “Charles you need to rest. Allow me to handle it from here.”

Immediately after exiting the kitchen in a calm, dignified manner, Ryan walked around the corner. He maintained an even, walking gait until he was sure he was out of sight and out of earshot. Once he was sure no one was listening or watching, Ryan took off running. His bare feet padded over the wooden and tiled floors in an increasing rapidity, that wouldn't have been too unusual for Ryan, but the look on his face most certainly was. Ryan had been worried before. He had never been this... terrified. He bolted through the mansion, over the furniture, around his classmates and peers, and into more than a few walls. Ryan's pupils were constricted and beady, his eyes darted about from place to place, as if trying to catch some invisible assailant. His body was bathed in a cold sweat, and he felt as if he might vomit. Halfway to his room, Ryan stopped, slumped against the railing of the stairs that lead to his floor. His stomach pressed against the side, his head hung over the railing, his hands gripping the wood so tightly his fingertips dug into the soft wood. Fingertips... Fingertips? Slowly, Ryan's world stopped spinning. His vision swam, and his skin crawled, but he felt his heartbeat slow. Shaking, and breathing heavily, Ryan held his hand in front of his face. Scales had begun to spring up on his white skin, patches of darkness that tried to rip him away from his own sanity. Claws had also begun to form on his fingertips, explaining the marks he left on the railings. Reaching up, Ryan felt little nubs at his temples, the beginnings of his horns. His ears were similarly pointed, and his teeth were beginning to sharpen. What was this... fear? Ryan was a monster, Ryan was the king of his territory, why was he afraid?

Crying out with fear, Ryan ran to his room, pounding on the door as if to entreat someone to let him in, someone who wasn't there. Then he remembered, just this morning, with Memory, the trick to his door. Ryan jiggled the handle, then slammed his fist on the door, leaving a mark where his scales bit into the wood. The door opened. Slamming it behind him, Ryan threw himself onto his bed, and dove under the covers. "What's wrong with me?" Ryan sobbed. His clawed fingers found a pillow, and Ryan grasped it tightly, pulling it to his chest, and hugging it. In anguish, he cried out. "What's wrong with me? What's wrong with me? What's..." Ryan trailed off, sobbing. Having hidden beneath his covers, and having found a pillow to cry into, Ryan wept bitterly.

He remembered the reactions to his little fight from the kitchen, the looks on his family's faces. Like a sick, plague-inducing mantra they repeated over and over in his mind, bringing on shuddering sobs that racked Ryan's whole body. Vincent had tried to calm him down, but it hadn't done anything. If anything, his brother's words only made him angrier. Calm down? I am calm? Don't you see him? He's a threat. How dare he... Ryan had been furious with Vincent. Then there was Hideki. His face contorted with fear, cringing away from him. Canaan and Jonathan had given him that look too. Why? What was this ache in his heart? It was still him, it was the Ryan they'd known all those years? What was so different now? Ryan hated them. He hated them for being afraid of him, and yet, he was afraid of them as well. He feared their disapproval, their rejection of him. Jean and Fuyumi had moved behind him, trying to detain him, keep him from ripping Terra to pieces. The two women who had raised him were planning on locking him away like some... Ryan didn't want to think about it. Then there was Logan... Logan had been so stern with him, so cross. That was pretty normal for Logan, but the way he'd looked at Ryan, as if he were a rabid beast. It broke Ryan's heart to see his family look upon him with such contempt. The visions played over and over again in his mind, driving him deeper into the darkness of his blankets. He didn't ever want to leave. Here it was safe, warm, and dark. Here, Ryan could melt away into nothing. Just as he felt his eyes close, his tears stop, and his mind begin to drift into sleep...

Ryan's breathing stopped, he sat bolt upright, throwing the covers off of him and scanning the room. Something had spoken to him. The voice in his head; the one from earlier. In the kitchen it had been crooning in his ear. It had growled.

"You..." Ryan whispered. The growling continued. "What do you want from me?" Ryan asked, fear in his voice. "Who are you?"

The growling quieted, and harsh tones filled his ears. "Leviathan... smell... prey..." The voice said, it hissed and growled, it's vocal range was indeterminant, it could have been male of female, it could have been any number of combinations of animals that existed on this planet, but one thing was certain. It was power, plain and simple. As Ryan felt the touch of another entity come into his mind, he shuddered, it wasn't like Memory's of Professor X's. It was cold and cruel, as if it sucked all light and happiness into itself and feasted on them. Ryan was afraid of it. It terrified him.

"Prey..." Ryan breathed. The Leviathan... he was the one who fought Terra, the one who nearly killed Canaan, the one who, for a moment, fought evenly with The Juggernaut's physical strength. Ryan felt his heart skip a beat. "I am not prey." Ryan asserted, growling lightly. Though he sounded brave, the voice knew better, it laughed. A deep rumbling filled his ears. Ryan scowled.

"You... prey." The voice said, assuring him. "Only prey... fears... You prey..." Ryan felt another twinge of fear race through his body. It was right. Ryan felt his transformation deepen. Strength flooded into his body. His hearing and smell sharpened, and scales covered his body. Though he was nearly gone, his eyes remained green.

"No." Ryan said, gaining a little confidence. "All things fear. Fear is what ensures survival. Even you fear."

"Yes..." The voice admitted, it paused for a moment, as if studying Ryan, whose mind held firmly, pushing back the Leviathan's transformative grasp. Slowly, Ryan's transformation halted, and reversed. Though scale still covered his body, Ryan's claws shortened, and his tail slunk away. His ears and teeth became less pointed, and his eyes remained green. "However..." The Leviathan continued. "Not all fear... good... You... You fear... everything..."

Ryan gasped, he couldn't help it. The thing was right. Ryan had lived his life like a door mouse, shunning everything that might hurt him. It had only recently become different due to his ability to change the transformation, but had Ryan really become better? "You're right..." Ryan admitted, and he felt his transformation begin to hasten itself upon him. Just as it was about to reach his eyes, it stopped. Ryan growled, forcing the scales back with sheer willpower. "I'm still the king." Ryan asserted. He growled, causing the Leviathan's scale to retreat. "This is my body, not yours. I am the one who controls it. Not you. You are my power. You are mine, not the other way around. I call on you to protect people, not kill them. I call on you to defend what is good and bright, not send it spiraling into darkness. You are my power. Now get out of here." Slowly at first, the scales began to recede, but just before they faded away entirely, Ryan heard the voice whisper once more in his ear. "You are... my alpha... Beware... any... weakness... will be punished..." Ryan only growled, keeping his thoughts clear until he felt the cold presence of the Leviathan slither away.

Once he was sure it was gone, Ryan jumped out of bed, dropping his pillow in the process. He had accidentally shredded the damn thing. Stupid claws... Sighing, Ryan plucked the feathers off of his body and ripped his shredded clothes off of himself. He threw on some new ones. Ryan donned a pair jeans, a graphic t-shirt, and new converse sneakers. Once he was dressed, Ryan left his room, shutting the door behind him, heading back down to the kitchen. Though he appeared fine, Ryan's hands were shaking and his slitted pupils were constricted, showing nearly all of his golden pupils. His body was caked in a cold sweat, and he felt as if he might be sick. In his fevered mind, there was only one plan of action. He was too flustered to think of something rational. He didn't even know where to begin with this kind of issue. In order to calm himself down, there was only one thing Ryan could do. He needed to see Memory. After their little debacle on the staircase, she was the only one who could understand him without waking up... whatever it was that was in his head. She would know what to do. Ryan needed to see his girlfriend, and for that, he needed to go back down to the kitchen.

Piotr Rasputin

Cara’s smile receded back to a small upturn on one side but she did not seem to shift from her good mood. “Perhaps but it has not made me the most popular girl in the mansion.” She said gesturing at the others in the kitchen. “I have fought with almost all of the people in this room at some point in my life and those I haven’t are those that are either too young to have seen the battles between Magneto and Xavier or didn’t join until after I came here.” She took a sip of her coffee before continuing. “I am not welcome here Piotr and as every day goes past there are times when I wish I wasn’t rescued that day.” She had turned more solemn now, her coffee once more occupying her thoughts. “I was not meant to be one of the X-men.”

Piotr listened, his smile fading into a sadder expression. He was a little pained to know that the X-men had not shown Cara the sort of kindness that he had received. He had a realization that it is difficult for even the noble X-men to break bread and forgive their once enemies. It was a testament that guests such as Victor, David, Stinger, Frenzy, Agent Six, and Pietro weren’t hitting many bumps in the road when it came to being around the X-men.

Piotr replied with a gentle smile, “You and I have fought before and I have no ill feeling towards you Cara. You are my friend. You fought us because it was the right thing for you to do at the time. I fought you because fate put us at odds. I never considered you my enemy though, it was the cause that I fought. We may not always agree on causes but I think we can agree that you and I can be friends no matter what divides us. You will always be a part of the X-men. I believe some of the others would feel an emptiness somewhere in their hearts if you left. I would.” Piotr spoke sincerely.

Piotr knew that Cara knew how it felt to be on her own. He knew how that felt as well. He had his sister who lived back in Russia. He lived to provide for her, but now that she is a young woman able to look after herself, he was free to look solely after himself. He joined with the X-men full time to fill that void, to help others as his nature spurred him to do. However Piotr feared that Cara’s isolation came for reasons entirely different from his. Cara could use someone to hold onto her, someone to let her know that she was at home, at peace. Piotr placed his hand gently on Cara’s shoulder.

The Kitchen

Scott listened as the guest replied. "The names Robert Ashdown, nice to meet ya Scott, and it's no problem, all folks argue after a bit. After all i'm British, we enjoy taking the mickey out of each-other. Anyways, i'm here to meet with the professor, Charles Xavier. I'm just nosy tourist is all,and proud mutant like the rest of you bunch! Just hoping to just, well, talk about how to get through everyday life round stranger that hate you."

He looked into the distance for a few moments before snapping out of it and asking; "So which X-man are you, eh? Let me guess, the fella with the lazer eyes?"

Scott looked a bit surprised. “Why uh… yes. I am. I didn’t know that I was known publicly.” Jean snickered nearby at Scott’s reaction. He was displaying a shyness that was rare to see on him.

Logan stepped forward and flashed a casual smile as he introduced himself. “Welcome, I’m Logan. So you’re English huh? You should enjoy chatting with the ‘Novelist’ over there. He’s from around your neck of the woods.” Logan said as he nodded toward Aiden O’doherty.

Aidan replied in an annoyed fashion. “It’s ‘The Author…’ and you should be nicer to be lest I bring 1,000 tons of gravity down on that spectacular adamantium skeleton of yours.” Aidan wasn’t the one to be mocked without consequence.

Victor stood in the kitchen and picked up a fresh apple that sat on the counter in a pile. There were several of them. He took a clean bite from it as he scanned the room. He noticed Logan had not ceased to watch him the whole time as if Victor was going to spontaneously attack someone. He snickered to himself at the fact that Logan couldn’t get over his trained inclination to ever be on watch when Victor was around. Victor looked over to David who seemed to be watching Ryan and Memory. It seemed that Ryan was definitely not North’s biggest fan. Victor subdued his own grin as he watched North pick up on Ryan’s unspoken tension toward him. North hadn’t uttered a word since his spat with Wendy but Victor knew him more than well enough to know when that man was deep in his thought processes.

Victor stepped closer behind North and whispered casually into his ear. “He’s only a kid. Besides you were trying to do the ‘noble’ thing and not fuck around with the little hottie. Don’t go back on your word now. I might think less of you.” Victor then took another bite of the green apple.

David turned partially with a rather sarcastic smirk. “I do Not go back on my word.” David replied his voice slick and cold as black ice. His disposition lightened just as quickly as it was darkened. “Don’t worry your handsome mug about it.”

Soon Jenifer tapped Victor on the shoulder to which he turned around slowly. He saw the young lady had caught the attention of the tourist. "I need to talk to you, by the way." She said as she turned back to him.

Victor smirked a little. “Sure blondie. I’m here when you’re free.” Victor figured that she wanted to discuss her little sister. He wasn’t sure exactly what she was going to say. He wasn’t really worried though. He supposed that he would tell her that Annabelle was simply in good hands.

Niles Cranston

Looking towards Niles as the dust cleared up, he yelled over the now apparent screams of those around them. "So what's next? Are we going to just destroy the building, or are these people fair game as well?" He rose his hand curling it into a fist and aimed it towards a random nobody who was hugging the corner while breathing heavily.

Niles looked around at the damage the one attack caused. “Wow… he really is a wrecking ball huh?” Niles thought to himself. “Only attack people if they are hostile. If they’re not, don’t hurt them. I just want to send a message not become a mass murderer. The building is our target.” Niles said to Keith. He formed several large floating and sharp crystals that launched into the walls and soon exploded causing the wall to be destroyed and part of the building structure collapsed.

Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto

Charles received a almost panicked transmission from cerebro. There were several mutant attacks about the city. The general public was in danger. Six sites were urgently in need of interference from the X-men. Charles turned to Magneto who stood behind him. “Erik… we must assemble the X-men at once! Mutants become so panicked that they have begun to attack several of the HMR sites. It seems the government’s recent moves have caused serious uproar.” Charles carried a look of worry as he knew that this was only the beginning of a long and difficult path for everyone.

Before Erik could respond, Vincent and Philip entered the Cerebro chamber. “Ah, there you two are! I knew you would have locked yourself away in here… Philip was worried. He’s such an awesome in law don’t you think? Oh, and Ororo has returned home! I was so surprised to see her! It’s always so tricky to telepathically sense her presence.” Vincent said in an obliviously upbeat manner as he entered the chamber with Philip. But he could feel the tension immediately afterward. “Wait, what’s the matter?” he asked. Erik turned around slowly with a heavy disposition. He was quite frustrated with the constant struggle for peace with mankind. So much effort only to hit so many setbacks. Erik explained the situation to Vincent and Philip.

Frenzy knocked on the Cerebro Chamber’s doors and entered upon their opening. “Good Morning Professor Xavier, Mr. Lehnsherr, Vincent, Philip. I hope I’m not interrupting anything important. This morning Wendy and I met a mutant from out of town. He wanted to meet you Professor, so we brought him here. I hope it’s not too much of an inconvenience.” Frenzy spoke politely. She wanted to give Charles and Erik a good impression of her. She took joining the X-men seriously and wanted to let them know that she respected them honestly and was appreciative for being accepted.

“Actually it seems my meeting with our guest will be brief and under unfortunate circumstances this time. There is trouble that needs the X-men’s assistance in quelling. I will have to assemble as many of us that are able and willing to assist. I am most grateful that Ororo has returned when she did. Joanna can I count on you as well? The X-men would greatly benefit from your strength and wisdom.” Charles replied.

Frenzy was pleasantly surprised that he asked her personally to help the X-men. “You and the X-men will always have my assistance. You need not ask in the future Professor X.” Frenzy replied with a proud smile.

Erik placed a hand on Vincent’s shoulder, “We must make haste. Things are getting worse with every passing moment.” They all headed toward the kitchen.

Professor X, Magneto, Vincent, Philip, and Frenzy entered the kitchen where most of the X-men and guests were gathered. Charles walked over to Robert and with a pleasant smile. “Welcome Mr. Ashdown. I am Charles Xavier, and this is Erik Lehnsherr. Welcome to the Xavier School for the Gifted. I would like to continue our meeting at length however my attention is needed elsewhere at the moment. You are welcome to remain here, or if you wouldn’t mind lending a hand in the matter that would be greatly appreciated.”

Xavier turned toward storm and greeted her with a bright smile, “Welcome back Ororo. We’ve missed you.” Charles wanted to say more but it would have to wait.

Erik spoke for all in the kitchen to hear, Charles telepathically transmitted Erik’s message to the minds of all that were in the mansion and not present in the kitchen. “X-men, friends, and guests, we are in great need of assistance. There are currently six attacks on HMR sites across the city. We shall intervene at once.”

Aidan smirked “Oh Charles what would you do without my help? I’ll lend you a capable hand if I must.” He said with his usual haughty disposition.

Erik rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed by Aidan’s disposition. After obtaining a commitment from some of those that weren’t X-men Magneto announced the team formations and leaders. “The six teams are as follows. Team one shall consist of Memory, Canaan, Logan, Quicksilver, Agent Six, Annabelle, Philip Klein, Hideki Matsuzaka, Jean Grey and Myself. Team leaders of this group shall be Memory and Philip.” Erik took a moment to give the Memory and Philip a reassuring smile as he knew they were surprised by their positions as leaders.

Erik continued, “Team two shall consist of Johnathan, Cara, Aidan O'Doherty, Kent Van-Pelt, and Frenzy. Jonathan you are the team leader of team two. You are more than a capable leader Jonathan.” Magneto encouraged Jonathan. He then turned to Aidan and spoke, “O’Doherty, I expect you to give Jonathan your full support and cooperation.”

Aidan flashed a sharp smile, “But of course. Don’t let me down Jonathan.” Aidan replied. He and Magneto never ceased to butt heads.

Erik announced team three. “Team three will consist of Terra, Ryan, David North/ Agent Zero, Vincent Xavier, and Colossus. The team leaders are Terra and Ryan. I expect you two to work in synch. You should do well.” Magneto gave a look of confidence to Terra and Ryan. He was fully aware of the group dynamics and was eager to test them.

David looked on with a smug expression. “What a motley crew we make, eh Xavier?” David said to Vincent with an amused disposition.

Vincent smiled just the same, “Indeed, I still haven’t gotten over your trying to shoot me that time. Not to mention you kidnapping me.” Vincent said jokingly.

David snickered, “Yeah… I haven’t gotten over the fact that you survived my shooting at you. Yet alone escaping Weapon-X. Then again, that part wasn’t on me.” David and Vincent began to laugh with one another, an odd scene to those who hadn’t seen darker side of Vincent’s humor.

Magneto continued with the team assignments,” Cain, Fuyumi, Ace, Mutt Ant, and Kyle, shall comprise team five. Cain shall lead this team.” Magneto simply gave Cain a proud nod and continued to announce the final team. “Team six shall consist of Jennifer, Stinger, Scott, Sabertooth, and Storm, with Scott as the leader.”

Sabertooth turned to Jenifer with his usual smug disposition, “I guess our little chat is really going to have to wait, unless we take it on the road seeing as how we are in the same team.”

Magneto spoke to Robert, "You are more than welcome to join any team Mr. Ashdown, if you so choose to assist us. We could use your talents.” Magneto said in a friendly manner. The groups departed the mansion in smaller jets, one per team, bound for the attack sites. Professor X remained behind to monitor the situation using Cerebro and to give advice.

Robert Ashdown smirked along with Jean at Scott's surprise of his lucky guess, replying; "Don't worry pal, it ain't all that public, just since i'm apparently hanging round the x-men, and your the only one that's got sunglasses indoors I took a wild stab in the dark, pal."
He then turned his attention to Logan, the man he was completely oblivious to also being the x-man wolverine, giving him a casual grin in return to his own and perking up at him pointing out Aidan, who's temperament left him a little weary but nonetheless said; "Well what do ya know, another good old Brit about! where you from mate? Down near London too?"
The English mutant tourist was obviously enjoying the whole scenario, grinning from ear to ear. After-all, what kind of peaceful mutant wouldn't be cheery about meeting the x-men?

Things only got better when Charles Xavier came in with a group of other mutants, or so he assumed, and greeted him warmly to his institute of learning, though apologized they had business at hand.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Xavier, as well as you too Mr. Lehnsherr! It sounds like the X-men are in work hours then, I don't mind giving a helping hand but I ain't exactly wolverine ya know!" He replied ecstatically, obviously excited at the prospect of working along side the x-men. He held his peace as he giddily watched Erik split them all into six teams; their mission; to prevent the sudden attacks on HMR sites. Wait, what?! This was a surprise to Robert, why would a group of mutant superheroes be saving buildings owned by a group of pewman racists? He shrugged and guessed the x-men really meant protecting all of mutant and man kind.
He then suddenly froze in shock as Erik asked if he wanted to join one of the teams to which managed to stammer out; "Bloody hell, of-course i'd f***ing love to! I'll go with, umm, errr, ah bugger I haven't got a clue who to join! How the heck do I pick? Ahhh, one of you lot pick for me, i'm too happy to think straight!"
He then spent the next couple of seconds gurning goofily and looking round in sheer joy at the six teams of mutants.

As Vincent, Philip, Frenzy, and Professors Eric and Xavier entered the kitchen once more, Ryan couldn't help but feel slightly ashamed. He had behaved so horribly to his big brother Vincent. Ryan wanted nothing more than to apologize and make everything right, but he was too scared. How could he so flippantly apologize for something he said not five minutes ago? Even worse, and to Ryan's horror, Ryan wondered, just for a moment, if it was even worth his time to apologize anyway. Vincent hadn't been there for Ryan when he needed him. Vincent had betrayed him. By not taking Ryan's side in the matter, it was like Vincent had, or so it felt to Ryan, publicly denounced his little brother in front of everyone. A dark desire to let Vincent squirm and fester over his wrongdoings boiled up within Ryan, and it surprised him. His eyes opened wide as he realized just what he was thinking. Vincent loved him. He always had, and he always would. Ryan shook his hea, as if to physically dislodge the heinous thoughts. However, before Ryan could step forward to get Vincent's attention, Professor Erik spoke for all in the kitchen to hear. “X-men, friends, and guests, we are in great need of assistance. There are currently six attacks on HMR sites across the city. We shall intervene at once.” Ryan gasped from the shock of it. He knew people might be angry with the HMR, but this kind of response was just playing right into the HMR's hands. Even Ryan knew that.

At that, Professor Erik began announcing the teams. "Team one shall consist of Memory, Canaan, Logan, Quicksilver, Agent Six, Annabelle, Philip Klein, Hideki Matsuzaka, Jean Grey and Myself." Ryan's face whitened, and he felt all the warmth leave his body. Neither he, nor Jonathan, would be accompanying Memory. Ryan wanted to speak up, to protest, and to volunteer to switch places with someone so that he could accompany his girlfriend, but Professor Erik's orders were absolute. If he thought those people would have the best chance of working together and achieving victory, then Ryan had to accept it. After all, Magneto and Jean would be with her. They would make sure she was safe. "Team leaders of this group shall be Memory and Philip.” Ryan, who had unwittingly mirrored Jonathan's actions, looked to Memory, whose face had went a few shades whiter. Ryan felt his heartbeat stop altogether for a moment. Memory took a deep breath and smiled slightly back at Erik. As much as Ryan didn't want to agree, didn't want to let her go on her own, and didn't want her in harm's way, Ryan knew that she was a capable leader. As Ryan had so frequently reminded himself, she was a big girl. She could take care of herself.

Team two shall consist of Johnathan, Cara, Aidan O'Doherty, Kent Van-Pelt, and Frenzy. Jonathan you are the team leader of team two. You are more than a capable leader Jonathan.” If Memory's election to leadership had made Ryan sweat, Jonathan's almost caused him to faint, and his eyes burned holes in the floor. To put both of the siblings in separate roles, away from each other and away from him, was almost physically painful to Ryan. He felt himself begin to shake, and he felt cold, as if a bullet had pierced his heart and left him dead. Ryan felt as if the world had turned black, and there was no joy left in it at all. Despite the powerful mutants who were accompanying them, despite their potential as leaders, and despite their own natural, practiced abilities, Ryan couldn't allow himself to be separated from them. Jonathan and Memory were, respectively, his best friend and his girlfriend. How could he just let them run off without him? He needed to be there with them, to protect them. They were the most important people in his entire world.

Shaking, Ryan raised his hand, and made to speak up and protest, but Professor Erik must not have noticed him, as he steamrolled right through Ryan's stuttering acknowledgements into the next team assignment. “Team three will consist of Terra, Ryan, David North/Agent Zero, Vincent Xavier, and Colossus. The team leaders are Terra and Ryan.” Magneto gave a look of confidence to Terra and Ryan. He was fully aware of the group dynamics and was eager to test them. Whatever moodiness, sadness, and heartbreak had existed in Ryan before was completely washed away by anger, and a fierce sort of pride. He was glad that he was, at the very least, being considered for leadership, but to put him with Terra and David? Professor Erik must have been going mad! "Now wait just a minute!" Ryan said, raising his voice to challenge the statement, as he was literally up in arms, but Professor Erik cut him off. "I expect you two to work in synch. You should do well." Stymied, Ryan quieted himself, and let his raised arms drop back to his sides. One of them was immediately scooped up by Memory, and given a thoughtful squeeze. Smiling, Ryan turned to Memory, threw his arms around her neck, and pulled her close to him. "You make sure you come home to me." He whispered softly, before letting her go. Pleased with himself, Ryan turned to leave, and mentally prepare himself for what was about to happen. As he made his way out of the kitchen door, Ryan turned and almost shouted back to Memory, so she, and probably the rest of the kitchen, would hear him. "I'm gonna hold you to that!" He said simply.

Once that was taken care of, Ryan made his way to a locker room, located down by the Danger Room, to grab his X-suit, which was really just a pair of shorts with a red, X-shaped clasp on the belt. There had been a previous incarnation of the suit, that covered more of Ryan's body, but the idea had been scrapped after it's first use, as Ryan's horns, tail, spines, and other scaly protrusions, were just not conducive to wearing much of anything. Once he'd located his Locker, Ryan quickly and silently disrobed and pulled on a pair of under armor shorts and his X-Shorts. There was a large, somewhat embarrassing flap on the back, but soon enough, Ryan's tail would be occupying that space, and he needn't concern himself with mooning everyone behind him. Taking a deep breath, Ryan sat on the cold, concrete floor of the locker room and began the process of covering himself with scales, the real, "suiting up," was only now taking place.

Slowly at first, Ryan began by concentrating on his breathing. He focused on the gentle rhythm of inhalation and exhalation. Once his heartbeat had slowed, and his mind was calm, Ryan focused on his scales, and allowed them to cover his body. As he called upon the power of the Leviathan, Ryan felt himself begin to change. His teeth and ears elongated, ending in sharp points. His hair grew long and ragged, and his body turned black. Next, his skin became covered with scales, and sturdy spines began growing out of his back along the path traced by his spine. Next were the smaller protrusions, his claws and arm blades. The scale congealed and sharpened along his forearms and fingertips, creating wicked, barbed weapons. His tail snaked out from his pants, soon filling the hole in his shorts, and the end of it sprouted a wicked hook. Next, Ryan's horns erupted from his temples, sweeping back towards his neck, then along his jawline before jutting out in front of his face, protecting the sides of his head, as well as providing his new form with weapons. Lastly, Ryan felt his skeleton begin to change. Joints shifted and bones condensed and became thicker, sturdier. When Ryan opened his eyes, they were golden, and slitted. The Leviathan had returned, but in form only.

Once he had finished, Ryan stood, his body balanced on the balls of his feet, and flexed his muscles and joints. He felt powerful, even more so than usual. Though the thought of it made him sick to his stomach, he guessed it was, perhaps, due to his subdual of the Leviathan, even if only temporary. Now that he was finished, it was time he took care of business. After all, he and Terra were supposed to lead this thing. Even if he hated Terra, and no matter how much he hated David, Ryan would comport himself with decorum and intelligence. This was his first time as a leader. This was his big opportunity to show that he had what it took to be a real X-Man. He couldn't just let it go to waste. Making his way out of the basement, Ryan followed his nose and ears to the one place where there was no scent of anyone present, but the sounds of movement defied such observations. In short, Ryan went to where David was. In the raspy tones of the Leviathan, Ryan spoke. "North, I'd like a word with you in private please, before we begin our mission. Would you come with me for a moment?”

David North turned slowly, as he was a bit thrown by the strange, raspy voice. He had, of course, heard someone approaching him, however, the voice was completely unfamiliar. David was actually a bit startled to see that such a strange voice originated from Ryan. David held his shiny pistol in a neutral position, but he didn’t put it down. “You want a word with me? Isn’t this a curious happening? Sure I’ll tag along.” David replied with a casual smile. He holstered his weapon and followed followed Ryan to a place where the two could speak privately. Tilting his head to the side, Ryan listened and sniffed for any eavesdroppers, and when Ryan was sure they were alone, he spoke. "Look, David, I'm not gonna sugar coat this, and I don't expect any such sympathy from you either. I don't like you. I don't like how you messed around with Memory, and I don't like that you threatened and kidnapped my brother Vincent when you followed that scumbag Trask during the attack on my home." Pausing, Ryan calmed himself down, as the subject at hand had made him quite upset. When he had regained his composure, he continued to speak. "However, Magneto put us on this team together. We can go right back to hating each other afterwards, but on the mission, I expect to see nothing but your much touted professionalism. As much as I hate to admit it, you are, after all, a professional killer. A little sortie like this should be nothing to someone as experienced and skilled as you. So, can I count on you to, at the very least, not shoot me in the back when I'm not looking?" At that, Ryan extended a hand to shake, momentarily retracting the scales on his right forearm so as to facilitate a peaceful exchange.

David listened and shook Ryan’s hand upon Ryan’s offering. He then replied, “Firstly, I’ll assure you that you’ll have my cooperation. I’m your gun, but be warned, put a deadly weapon in the wrong hands and it could be very bad. You should be more concerned with yourself team leader.” David said finally releasing Ryan’s hand. Ryan suppressed a scowl. He couldn’t help but think, “Just where do you get off lecturing me, North?” Unfortunately, and much to Ryan’s chagrin, David continued. However, his smile dropped and a sharp seriousness engulfed his gaze. “Secondly, I should clear up or at least give you another perspective on the events you have taken so personally. My previous interaction with Memory, that’s hers and my business, don’t you continue to get yourself all paranoid about it. I know you two have had about 2 seconds worth of a relationship but you won’t reach second 3 if you spend half your energy cutting your eyes at me. I told her that you’re the better man, if knowing that makes you feel better. So don’t make me regret my opinion of you.”. This time, instead of scowling, Ryan just let his mouth hang open for a brief moment. He wasn’t sure if he was angry, embarrassed, flattered, or all three at once. However, since he couldn’t think of anything particularly nice to say, that wouldn’t sound like utter garbage, he kept his mouth shut. As much as Ryan hated to admit it, David had a point. Ryan wouldn’t get anywhere with Memory if he spent all his time worrying about David. “I suppose you’re right. Thank you.” Ryan grumbled, turning his face away from David’s. Just because David had a point didn’t mean Ryan had to like it.

David let out a small sigh, “Lastly, you’re correct, I am a professional killer. It’s my profession, not what I do for fun. I’m not some comic book villain, I have a conscience too. Breaking into the X-mansion, kidnapping Vincent, shooting Logan in the head, well no… that was personal, however the kidnapping of your ‘family member’ was a job, not much more, not much less. I wouldn’t have wasted my time had I not been paid well to do it. So it may not change things but it wasn’t personal. Now if you have the same beef with Victor, you’d get a different more disturbing answer perhaps. So I don’t dislike you, however, I do dislike your fragility. I used to be something like that, worried about everything, but I learned that collapsing to pieces wasn’t going to lead me anywhere good. In fact, it lead me to a very bad and painful place, with a lot of life changing results. I guess I’m saying, be confident, it makes a difference. I guess I’ve said enough. I’ve got your back, no need for worry.” David concluded.

At the end of David’s speech, Ryan just nodded curtly. “You… I…” Ryan sighed, pausing for a moment to pinch the bridge of his nose between two sharp claws. Continuing on, Ryan spoke. “My fragility, as you called it, is none of your concern. I only came here to get what I’ve been feeling off of my chest so that I can interact with you professionally during our mission. You’re right about Memory. She’s her own person, and your business with her is your business. If you’re telling me that I won’t need to worry about it anymore, then I won’t. I trust her completely. As for Vincent, it would taste a lie to tell you that I didn’t take that personally, or that I won’t continue to do so. This is my home, North. It has been since I was six years old. For almost eleven years, I've grown up here. Professor Xavier is just as much a father to me as my real dad. Vincent, his son, is my brother. He has been since the day I met him. When you kidnapped Vincent, no matter how impersonally you meant it, no matter how much money you did it for, it shattered our hearts. I’m not the only one you and the others hurt that day. Even if I can manage to forgive you someday, that doesn’t mean the others will.” Ryan quipped, turning the rest of his body away from David. Ryan knew that if he stayed there any longer, he’d probably end up yelling, and that was no way to prove how capable of a leader he was. As he began to walk away, Ryan turned his head over his shoulder and spoke again, grinning devilishly. “As for you and me, this Leviathan is still growing,” Ryan said, smirking. “The next time you see me, I’ll be a real monster. The only one you’ll have to worry about being fragile, is yourself.” Pleased with himself, Ryan left David to his preparations. He still had one more loose end to tighten up.

Having spoken with David, and feeling slightly better about that front, Ryan perked up his nose, and followed it to here he could smell Terra's damp, earthy scent. Ryan wasn't shocked to observe that Canaan's predatory scent was mixed with his, as the brother-sister pair did seem very close. Ryan would have been jealous of them, were he not so opposed to the pair of them even being in the mansion. This was Ryan's home. Even if Cain had invited them, it didn't make sense that Ryan's enemy should just be invited to live here on a whim. However, Cain was Vincent's other half, and Ryan loved Cain as much as he did Vincent. For now, Ryan would just have to trust that their impressions of Terra were right, and his own intuition was wrong. Finally approaching the source of the smell, Ryan once more knocked on the door frame of a room that housed someone he wasn't particularly fond of. The Leviathan's voice, raspy and cruel, sounded out, breaking the silence. "Terra, may I have a word?" Glancing at Canaan, Ryan added. "In private if you don't mind."

Terra looked up upon hearing the sound of knocking on their door. The siblings had retreated to a room a short distance from the kitchen soon after hearing those two old guys speak. The boy or rather creature that they called Ryan entered the room. Almost immediately Canaan stood up in a protective manner and bared her teeth at the other boy. Ryan suppressed the urge to return the gesture, but, instead, he lowered his tail between his legs, a gesture of submission. Ryan wasn't here to fight. He just wanted to talk. Simultaneously, Terra gave Canaan a pointed look and she seemed to calm down. “Whatever you want to say to me, you can say in front of Canaan.” Terra said simply, refuting all possibility of an argument about the subject. Ryan only scowled. He should have known Terra would say that. Undeterred, Ryan spoke. "Look, Terra," Ryan began, but then paused, sighing. "I know we're not equally thrilled about working together so soon after our last two... arguments. Believe me, no one was more surprised than I was when you walked in through the kitchen door. That being said, I don't actually hate you. I thought I might, but really, I suppose I was just biased. The last time we'd met, before our little tiff in the kitchen, both you and I were just blindly following orders. Our respective leaders, friends, and family were opposed in that once instance, but we don't have to be any more. We don't have to be enemies forever, this one instance of cooperation doesn't have to be the last. Do you think that you and I can work together, and see to it that we complete our assigned mission? Do you think that, someday, we might even be friends?"

Listening to Ryan’s short little speech Terra wasn't really all that moved by it. Nor did he really care about what the other wanted not much anyway. Tilting his head slightly to the side, Terra looked at Ryan through his messy hair. “Oh really? I’ll correct you a bit on what you said earlier. I wasn't really following any orders, neither was Canaan. We simply saw you guys attacking and I've seen people in uniforms before, we both have and it was never a good thing. So in some ways it was my fault plus Canaan has a thing for rushing in blindly.” He spoke in a lighter tone of voice then he had previously, almost as if he was trying to lighten the mood. Ryan only scowled, his tail lashing wildly at his feet. He'd poured his heart out for them, and this was the response he got? Ryan suppressed the urge to shout at the stupid, black-haired boy, but he held his tongue. Proper debating procedure dictated that you allowed your opponent to finish first.

However, when he spoke again, Terra's whole demeanor took on a colder and more serious side. “However if you hadn't attacked Canaan we wouldn't have needed this conversation. I don’t really trust you but then again I've never really trusted anyone so it’s not anything new. As I said before, hurt Canaan and we’ll have another fight on our hands. I don’t care what you do otherwise, but the moment it involves her I’m all in. I think we could be friends, just don’t expect it to happen out of nowhere.

When the boy finished, Ryan spoke once more, with a noticeable edge in his voice. As he spoke, the tip of his tail twitched, as if irritated. "I'm afraid I must correct YOU, Terra. The X-Men were only in the city to detain the Juggernaut. From what Vincent and the others told me, they hadn't expected Callisto to order the Morlocks to attack them, or the innocent civilians, either. As for Canaan, if memory serves, she tackled me because I was fighting with you, and I had only joined the fray to keep my family safe. Therefore, the same could be said of you, Terra. As long as you play nice with my friends and my family, I see no reason that we can't get along. That being said, I think we've had more than enough hostility for one day, wouldn't you agree? For now, at least, we're partners. Let's just get this thing done so we can move on with our lives." When he had finished, Ryan took a step forward, and momentarily retracted the scales on his right arm, to facilitate a hand shake between himself and Terra.

Terra glanced over at Canaan who was visibly upset, as shown by her thrashing tail. Terra simply put his arm up slightly so she knew to stand down. He understood where Ryan was coming from and from the looks of it they both had similar mind sets. "Alright. There has, indeed, been too much hostility for my liking. I'm sure you know that we both came off on the wrong foot..." Ryan simply nodded in agreement. While it hadn't been the nicest of first meetings, at least now they were finally beginning to move on. Glancing down, Terra watched as Ryan raised his hand, but there were no scales. Immediately Terra began to frown, "I'm not going to shake hands. I've accepted a truce with you, the real you. Not some piece of pale flesh that has never brought arms against me and my family." Red eyes narrowing, Terra stood up a bit straighter, folding his arms across his chest as if to further justify his disagreement to shaking hands.

Ryan sighed, a scowl on his face as he lowered his hand. "Fine then. Have it your way," he quipped curtly, allowing the black scales to once more turn his arm into a weapon of war. "I suppose that's it for now. I'll be meeting you, along with the rest of our team, at our assigned jet in the hangar. There will, most likely, be a short briefing during our flight. I expect it would be much better to go in AFTER learning as much as we can about our objective. No use going in blind, after all. Bye for now, Terra." With that, Ryan lowered down to all fours and scampered off to the hangars, following his nose to the smell of Magneto and the Professor. Once he got there, Ryan would have to learn as much as he could about the mutants that his team would be going after. If they knew what they were up against, a better plan of action could be formed to take out the threat with as little potential for bloodshed as possible After that, it was just a matter of seeing whether or not his team would fall to pieces in his own hands. However, as he ran down to the hanger, Ryan growled to himself, in a voice softer than a whisper, "I won't let that happen."

Jennifer Harolds

Sure blondie. I’m here when you’re free.” Jennifer looked at him out of the corner of her eye,
"My name's Jennifer, not Blondie." She told him, rubbing her her left temple as she suppressed her frustration at the nickname, her left eye flashed solid blue whilst the other flashed solid pink.

Before having a chance to speak to Robert, Magneto and Xavier entered the room, Magneto had started into a speech, which occasionally got interrupted by a bit of banter but nonetheless. “X-men, friends, and guests, we are in great need of assistance. There are currently six attacks on HMR sites across the city. We shall intervene at once.”

“The six teams are as follows. Team one shall consist of Memory, Canaan, Logan, Quicksilver, Agent Six, Annabelle, Philip Klein, Hideki Matsuzaka, Jean Grey and Myself. Team leaders of this group shall be Memory and Philip.”

"Cain, Fuyumi, Ace, Mutt Ant, and Kyle, shall comprise team five. Cain shall lead this team. Team six shall consist of Jennifer, Stinger, Scott, Sabertooth, and Storm, with Scott as the leader.

Jennifer nodded in acceptance, Annabelle may not have been a fighter but she was sent here for a reason, to learn about her powers and there was no other way than first hand experience, even more precious in combat. She then heard Sabertooth's smug disposition, “I guess our little chat is really going to have to wait, unless we take it on the road seeing as how we are in the same team.” Jennifer twisted her neck slight, looking over her shoulder at Victor, she smirked.
"I suggest you pack some earplugs, unless you think you could handle my screams." She teased, using voice as the medium, she formed three butterflies which danced around her. "I'll meet you in the Hangar when you've finished with your make up." She then left the kitchen, heading for her accommodation and pulled out her gear before quickly throwing it on and pulling her hair back into a ponytail.

Annabelle Greyson and Aurora

Annabelle sat in the corner reading the book she had lifted, Aurora sat opposite her, she had grown strong enough to form an illusion of her blond self, however, she was only visible to Annabelle, even another psychic couldn't see her due to her telepathic invisibility.
"You know we could be having so much more fun, but instead you're sitting in here, reading." Aurora scoffed at her twin, before should come up with something else to complain about, Magneto's voice was broadcasted to them telepathically.

"X-men, friends, and guests, we are in great need of assistance.

Aurora jumped up, giddy with excitement. "Oh Annabelle! Please let them knock you unconscious!" Annabelle sighed, before clamping her hands on her temples and focusing on Aurora, launching a full psionic attack on her. It caused the illusion to grab her hair and bend over, screaming in pain before fading away.

Annabelle hoisted herself up and placed the book back where she got it from and made her way to Jennifer's room, Annabelle knocked but there was no response, she must have still been in the kitchen. Opening the door herself, she searched the room for some clothes, finding a pair of black lycra leggings and leather boots, she grabbed one of the cropped leather jackets and quickly left, returning to her room.

She grabbed a lilac turtleneck from her drawers and threw it on, accompanied by the leggings, boots and jacket. She looked in the mirror and silently nodded in approval, she then looked to her hair and grabbed it before she put her hair into pigtails. Ready to leave, she made her way to the hanger.

As a number of X-men and fellow mutant guests wandered off to prepare themselves, Robert was busy trying to figure out which team to tag along with, mumbling feverishly under his breath as he lifted his hat to scratch at his scalp in puzzlement, before blurting decisively; "I got, Team 2! I'll follow them about for a bit! If it's alright with you Mr. Xavier, and Mr. Lehnsherr! Though I warn you lot, like i said before I ain't an athlete, too much sitting around on my bum recently. Well more than recent, but ya get what I'm blabbing."
He then shut his trap an wandered over towards them members of the second team deciding if he was going to get an answer he might as well stand next to the group he chose, after-all, the professor did ask if he could help out with the situation. I'd be a first where he actually gave his powers a proper workout, so understandably, Rob was a bit on edge.
He noticed that the young man named Johnathan had returned in a new outfit, along with the girl called Memory.
"Nice outfits ya both changed to, very practical, loving the jumper there Johnathan. Better make sure that coat doesn't get snagged though mate, could end up being a pretty situation.", he commented cheerfully, trying in vain to calm his nerves and get brownie points with the team leader.
Rob then turned to Joanna, who he now knew was Frenzy and gave a friendly grin, happy to have a somewhat familiar face on the team, even if that face was only familiar from the last half hour or so. "Well, looks like your stuck with me for a bit longer then huh? Who knows, we might end being the best partnership since Del-boy and Rodney!", he jokingly said with giving a chuckle, obviously seeming quite nervous about being sent on a mission, though had his feelings mixed with a sense of excitement too.
Rob gave quick gruff nod with a smile to Aidan, giving a curt; "Alright there, Author!" before turning to Kent and Cara; adding; "Guess your Cara then love, and this posh fella is Kent! Hmmmm hang on a minute, you look familiar mate. Have you been on telly or something?"
He ended his sentence with yet another puzzled expression, pondering on why Kent seemed so familiar.

The Kitchen

"Well what do ya know, another good old Brit about! where you from mate? Down near London too?" Robert asked Aidan.
Aidan grinned, “I’m actually from Ireland. However my hometown is barely recognizable today as it was simply centuries ago since it was called what its name once was. But to air on the side of being less complicated, yes I have spent a rather lengthy amount of time in London.” Aidan was referencing his having been born in the late 1800s. “It is nice to have another Englishmen about.” Aidan smiled, a bit more genuinely this time.

Well more than recent, but ya get what I'm blabbing."

Magneto smiled, he was thrilled with Roberts eagerness to help them. “We are most grateful for any assistance you’d be willing to provide us Mr. Ashdown.” He extended his hand and shook Roberts.

Charles added, “A wise choice you have made Robert. They will indeed look after you, as well as put their trust in you as they are also in your hands.”

Rob then turned to Joanna, who he now knew was Frenzy and gave a friendly grin, happy to have a somewhat familiar face on the team, even if that face was only familiar from the last half hour or so. "Well, looks like you’re stuck with me for a bit longer then huh? Who knows, we might end being the best partnership since Del-boy and Rodney!", he jokingly said with giving a chuckle.

Joanna giggled a little. She didn’t quite understand the Del-boy and Rodney reference but Robert’s jovial nature was enough to lift anyone’s spirits. “I am rather glad that we will get a chance to work together Robert. Perhaps I’ll learn a thing or two from you?” Joanna replied with a tickled smile.

Rob gave quick gruff nod with a smile to Aidan, giving a curt; "Alright there, Author!", to which Aidan responded with a flinch of a smile, before turning to Kent and Cara; adding; "Guess your Cara then love, and this posh fella is Kent! Hmmmm hang on a minute, you look familiar mate. Have you been on telly or something?"
He ended his sentence with yet another puzzled expression, pondering on why Kent seemed so familiar.

Kent gave a slightly embarrassed smile and ran his hand across the back of his head. “I’m a journalist and newscaster so you might have seen me on CNN. I cover a lot of international stories as well. It’s a pleasure to be working with you Robert. It’s alright if I call you Robert right?” Kent replied.

Hideki cut in, “May have seen me he says… He’s practically a celebrity. Not to mention who could not help but stare at those eyes?” Hideki blabbed on. His comments caused Kent to blush shyly and thus he chuckled nervously. He was as humble as one could be.

Logan yanked Hideki’s shirt to get his attention, “Alright Matsuzaka, enough fan-girling over Kent here. Go get changed will ya?” Logan let out a heavy sigh. “One track mind I tell ya.” He uttered.

“Alright Wolvie.” Hideki responded in a annoyed and embarrassed manner for having been stifled.

Jonathan looked to Kyle. "Guess we'll have to take that walk another time," he said with a smile.

Kyle mustered a smile through his disappointment. “Indeed, another time Mon ami. Be careful.” Kyle said quietly. Jonathan then excused himself to get ready and left for his room. Kyle then joined his team after changing.

The others departed the kitchen one by one to prepare for transport and battle. Straightening up, Ace put away her mug into the sink and walked over to Cain. Nodding her acknowledgment to her fellow shadow manipulator, Cara, Ace turned to the man she wished to talk to. "Looks like you'll be leading us Vincent's double, I suggest you call everyone to get ready and meet up wherever it is you please. Just tell me know, I really hate it when telepaths such as yourself try to talk to me. Any how I have a way that'll get us that much quicker to our destination but that'll have to wait when I come back from getting ready." With that being said, Ace turned around and walked right into the shadow between the door and the wall.

Cain listened to Ace a slight smirk crossed his face. He didn’t get to opportunity to respond to Ace before she disappeared into the shadows. He thought on her calling him Vincent’s double, and it somewhat bothered him. Perhaps he was only a mere shadow of Vincent Xavier, however in truth so was Vincent a shadow of Charles and Erik. It would be a long road before he would gain the trust of his allies. This mission would help him prove his worth and his differences from Vincent.

Ace took a step forwards only to step out of someone's shadow. As she did so, Ace threw on her coat with a dramatic flare and stood before her team. Looking to Cain she spoke, "So as you may know, like Cara I can travel about via shadow. We can get to the HMR building faster if we go via shadow but you'll need to make sure your in physical contact with my body. Otherwise I can't take you with and you'll look like an idiot trying to get through a shadow. So once you guys give the hey ho, I'll just take us to the Shadow dimension a d we can talk plans there. Mind you times different down there so no need to worry about having to hurry to be a bunch of lives."

Cain replied, “Thank you Ace. It will be quite helpful. Just make sure you’re not too injured so that you can take us home when this is all said and done.” He said with a playful chuckle. Cain then gathered the team consisting of Fuyumi, Ace, Mutt Ant, and Kyle together to discuss strategy. “Alright team, if we coordinate we’ll overcome any obstacle set before us. I would like for Mutt and Fuyumi to run evacuation duty. Help as many innocents escape harm as possible. Once you’ve cleared all that you can, Report back and assist the rest of the team as you see fit. Meanwhile, Ace, Kyle and I will keep the attackers busy and attempt to subdue them. The Professor has telepathically informed me that we are dealing with two mutants, one with the ability to disintegrate things upon touch and another with high resistance and force field generative abilities. We must be careful. Let’s move out.” With that Ace transported the team.

Philip a bit surprised by being chosen as a team leader. However it filled him with a sort of excitement at the same time. He looked forward to looking after the team. Vincent hugged Philip goodbye, “Don’t rush into things and be careful Philip. I won’t be a jolly man if something were to happen to you out there.” Vincent said. It wasn’t often he had to work a mission without Philip at his side. Perhaps Magneto wanted the two to work apart for a change of pace.

Philip relied with a whimsical smile on his face, “I’ve got Memory to look after me, I’ll be fine. You jus be sure to follow orders. Don’t forget Ryan and Terra are your team leaders. You’re not the boss this time Vince.” The two chuckled and then grew silent as the smiles faded. They embraced once more and with a quiet peck on one another’s cheek they departed for their teams.

Philip approached Memory. “Hey M, are you ready to lead the best team around? No need for worries, we’ve got Magneto, Logan and Jean on our team. What could go wrong that they couldn’t overcome?” Philip joked to lighten the burden Memory and he carried upon their shoulders.

Scott gathered Sabertooth, Stinger, Jennifer and Storm together for a team meeting. Scott wasn’t at all thrilled to be working with Sabertooth but orders were orders and he intended to follow them. Scott also expected Sabertooth to follow his orders as well. It wouldn’t be an easy, not to mention having Stinger on the team as well. Scott had never worked with Jennifer before so he could only hope that she was a level team player, not a wild card like Sabertooth and Stinger were. Storm was the second anchor of the team, Scott was much relieved to have her to assist them.

“Alright team, we’ve got a situation to neutralize. Expect the HMR to be hostile as well. Our first priority is to clear the area of innocents, and to neutralize the HMR opposition so that we can calmly talk the mutants in question into a ceasefire. I expect us to work as a solid team, do not over do things and try not to harm the HMR soldiers. Our goal is a peaceful resolution not increased chaos. Is that clear?” Scott spoke to his team.

Stinger slinked up to Scott and ran her index finger down Scott’s uniform covered chest flirtatiously. “Anything you want soldier boy….” She said with a wink.

Scott frowned and promptly moved Stingers hand away from him. “Stop goofing around Wendy.” He turned toward Sabertooth, “I didn’t hear a reply from you Victor.”

Sabertooth grinned in an icy manner., the look of a killer teasing prey. “Well of course I’m clear on the goal. However doesn’t mean that’s where I’m headed no does it?”

Scott’s anger showed through gritted teeth. “I swear if you do anything to jeopardize innocent lives or this mission, so help me God…” Scott retorted.

“Don’t make promises you can’t keep Summers. Relax, I’ll play nice today.” Sabertooth said calmly and patted Scott lightly on the shoulder.

Storm rubbed Scott’s back a little in an effort to calm him down. “Don’t you let him get under your skin. He likes to cause a trouble remember? Everything will be fine.” Storm said gently. Scott let out a sigh of relief.

“Thanks Storm… I needed that. I hope you’re right.” Scott replied with a gentle smile.

Storm gave Jennifer a friendly nudge, “Hey you ready to save the world?” She smiled with an adventurous look in her eyes. Soon afterward they headed off to their destination.

As Robert had became an odd mix of excitement and nervousness as time went on, he gave Magneto and Professor Xavier a curt nod, having shook the later's hand which he stared at for a few moments, as well as giving a friendly short grin to Aidan before deciding on the team, thinking it was always nice to meet a fellow Brit abroad.
Replying to Joanna, Rob returned the smile and replied; "Well, probably you lot gonna teach me much more about being an x-men, even if I am the substitute today!" before turning round in shock as he realized who Kent was, with help from the man himself and Hideki; exclaiming; "Bloody hell, your that huge news big shot fella! Man,Kent Van Pelt! Huh, your mate over there's right your a giant in the news world! Man, my sis ain't gonna believe a word of what i say when I get home. Makes me wish I had a camera on me. Brilliant to meet ya pal, and sure, you can call me Robert if ya want. Heck, you can call me Nancy if ya want!", shaking the journalists had vigorously, gushing over his celebrity status, while giving a quick chuckle to Logan dragging the fella called Hideki away.
He then turned his attention, just like the others in the team, towards Jonathan. He nodded carefully and focused on the team leaders words, trying his best to remember each rule and not shake around in giddiness and worry too much, though puzzled with the looks he shot at Aidan and Cara, but seemed excited nonetheless, bellowing a cheerfully; "Yes Mr. Jonathan sir!" as he finished his talk, and followed after the team, with Jonathan moving along besides him. The team captain asked him what powers he possessed, and turned to the man with a smile that showed he'd be hopping to be asked soon.
"Great, glad you asked mate! I'll show ya!", he eagerly blurted, before, without warning, a pair of dagger-like blades popped out of Robert's forearms, and changed the blade his left arm to shape like a sickle.
"You see, like that Wolverine chap on the news, I bring blades out, but only two of them, and in my arms, and much, much bigger! Don't think there as tough though, his stuff can cut through steel, while mine, well, they are steel! Oh, and i got some metal floating about in my blood a lot so i'm a bit slower than some fellas.", he half explained excitedly, making the blades retract back in his arms with a smug smile plastering his face.

Finally having reached the hangar, Ryan abandoned his four legged running posture, and stood on two legs. He slowed his paced as he jogged his way over to the jet his team was to take to their HMR Office, before stopping right in front of the their transportation of the day. Catching his breath, Ryan placed his hands on his hips and looked up at the thing. It was jet black and huge, one of those blackbirds that he'd heard about. The thing was crazy fast, could even hover in place, and was equipped with cloaking and radar capabilities. It was, most certainly, an impressive feat of engineering that such a sleek and powerful machine could contain all it did. With eyes wide, like a child, Ryan marveled at the mechanical behemoth before him. Finally finished gawking, Ryan looked around. It seemed he was one of the first to arrive. There were some others there, but no one else from his team had arrived. It was a mark of personal pride for the scaled boy, having arrived before everyone else from his team. "After all," Ryan mumbled to himself. "A leader should be the first to arrive and the last to leave." Resigning himself to wait, Ryan walked over to, and sat on, the stairs that led into the belly of their jet.

It was good for him to have arrived early, being the leader and all. That being said, Ryan was beginning to get impatient. He had, in truth, arrived much earlier than he had anticipated, and waiting for the others to show up was becoming quite the nuisance. He placed his elbows on his knees, his cheeks in the palms of his hands, and pouted. "Man, leaders sure have it rough. When's everyone gonna get here..." Each time someone entered the hangar, his ears pricked up, and he looked over to the door, only to find that it wasn't someone from his team. With each such disappointment, Ryan began to become rather uneasy, and was becoming increasingly testy. Fortunately, however, his tantrum would be put on hold. After some time, Vincent walked through the doors to the hangar, with Philip in tow. Apparently having already said their goodbyes, they headed towards their own respective teams. Ryan's heart soared. He'd forgotten the his big brother Vincent was on his team. That, at least, was some good news. As Ryan got up, and bounded over to where his brother was, he remembered the fight they'd had. He had lied to Vincent. Ryan's pace immediately slowed to a halt. His eyes found the floor, his ears drooped, and his tail hung between his legs, twitching restlessly. Ryan felt so ashamed, he never lied to anyone, and he'd been so horrible to Vincent. Ryan wished he could take it all back and make it like it never happened. Vincent had only ever loved him, and Ryan had trampled all over those feelings.

As Vincent approached him, Ryan looked up, his golden eyes finding Vince's. He opened his mouth to speak, but his voice caught in his throat, and he couldn't say anything. Ryan's eyes returned to the floor, dangerously threatening to water. Directing his voice at Vincent, Ryan spoke, but softly. Vince may not have even heard it. "I'm sorry..." Ryan said, trailing off. Gaining some courage, Ryan spoke up again, this time looking into his brother's eyes. "I'm so sorry Vincent," Ryan said, now freely crying. His voice held strong, and his nose remained dry, but he cried bitterly as he spoke to his brother, feeling deep shame within his heart. "I felt so betrayed." Ryan began. "I didn't know that Terra and Canaan had been invited here, and when they showed up, all I remembered was fighting them. I thought that they were my enemies!" Ryan was beginning to shout, so he took a deep breath, and calmed himself before beginning again. "When... When my mother and father dropped me off here, I was so scared. I thought I would never ever see them again. I felt like I had been abandoned; like no one would ever love me again. Then I met everyone here, and they were all so kind to me. No one was scared of me, no one made fun of me. Everyone here became my new family, and they loved me. It took a little while for me at first, but I can say it with pride now. I love all of you. I love you all so much that my heart feels like it might burst; it's simply too full. So when... when I moved to protect you... all of you... and... and you just... you ran away from me... I was so... I felt so... angry." Ryan paused, wiping his eyes. "'It's still me!' I thought, and I was furious. 'I'm still your Ryan, so why? Why are you all looking at me like... like I'm some kind of monster.' That's what I thought." Ryan said, taking another moment to regain some composure. "I can see now that I was wrong, and that I should have tried to talk things out first, but then Canaan goaded me, and all I could see was red and..." Ryan felt his heart thump painfully. He paused for a moment, his right hand coming up to clutch at his chest. The memories were too much for him to take. The frightened faces of his friends and family taunted him, jeering at him. "And I'm sorry." Ryan said, sadness creeping into his voice. His tears had stopped falling, but the sadness had not yet left his heart. "I'm under control now, Vincent, I won't be running off... killing innocent people. You... You don't have to be afraid of me, I'll be good and do as I'm told. So, We... We can still be brothers, like we were before. Right? You still love me, and I still love you, and we can be a family again, can't we? Can't we?" Ryan finished desperately, sniffing hard. His eyes found Vince's and though they threatened to water once again, his gaze remained firm. He needed to know.

Annabelle Greyson and Jennifer Harolds

Jennifer having gotten distracted, forgot to randez-vous with her designated team and cursed herself for her idiocy, she knew the X-men could handle themselves but no doubt every hand was necessary, she quickly grabbed her leather jacket and made her way to the garage, no one would mind her borrowing a motorbike, it's not like she wouldn't replace it. On her way through the halls, she bumped into Annabelle, who seemed a bit dazed.
"Belle? Are you okay?" Annabelle nodded and looked at Jennifer in confusion.
"Where is everyone?" Annabelle's voice was loud due to no one being present in the area, Jennifer's eyebrow raised quizzically.
"They've already left, we better hurry." Jennifer picked up her pace and made her way down the hall. "I need you to reach out to one of the Xaviers and ask where we are needed most. I'll get us wherever we need to be."
'Vincent? Professor? Is there anywhere you need me and Jennifer to be? I'm sorry we've fallen behind.' Annabelle broadcasted telepathically, hoping one of the Xaviers would respond and the sisters could provide the best help they could.

Professor Charles Xavier

Professor Xavier sat in the Cerebro chamber monitoring the different crisis sitiations that the x-men were dispatched to. He heard Annabelle’s telepathic call.

'Vincent? Professor? Is there anywhere you need me and Jennifer to be? I'm sorry we've fallen behind.' Annabelle broadcasted telepathically,

Charles responded telepathically “I hear you Annabelle. This is Professor Xavier. Please report to the hangar. The remaining X-men teams have met there and are preparing for departure. Your teams will be heading out soon. I appreciate any help you’d be willing to give. I regret having to ask such a favor of you. If you decide against it, I will certainly understand.”

Magneto, Logan, Quicksilver, Philip Klein, Hideki Matsuzaka, Jean Grey

As teams one and four gathered in the X-mansion’s hangar they all wondered how the mission before them would unfold. They were the only team comprised of two teams. Philip checked to make sure that each member was present and accounted for. With Annabelle’s arrival, the team had fully formed. Philip smiled pleased with everyone’s willingness to help out. Philip got everyone’s attention and addressed the team.

“Guten tag everyone! Thank you all for assisting the X-men team with this crisis. Given what the professor has shared, it seems we have a delicate situation on our hands. Cerebro has picked up mutant activity at North Park street. The HMR building is being ripped apart by massive plant growth. A mutant by the name of Oliver Cassidy is most likely responsible for the plant phenomenon. He is a student of Emma Frost so it is quite likely that he is no novice with his abilities. Be very careful with him. We have very little information on the second aggressor. We know her name is Erika and she has displayed some form of psionic ability that allows her to control others. How advanced her ability has yet to be known nor if she has other abilities. Exercise extreme caution. At present I have not an initial plan but we’ll play it by ear and act accordingly. As your team leaders, Memory and I will give direction as we see fit. We trust in your judgment and ask that you trust ours in the event that we give a command.” After the conclusion of Philip and Memory’s address to the team the team departed.

Once the jet carrying the team landed stealthily on a nearby building top, Philip and Memory assessed the situation. “It’s nice to have a bird’s eye view of the situation.” Philip said with a light grin.

Hideki looked on in amazement at the neighboring building being ravaged by the massive plant growth. “Man… that is one big geranium… anybody think to bring weed killer?”

Quicksilver crossed his arms and chuckled. “Why don’t we just torch that building? That’ll get rid of the plants, force any hostiles out, and take down a pesky HMR building all at once.”

Logan replied in an annoyed tone, “I’ll give you a good reason why not. You see all of those civilians hanging out of the windows trapped and calling out for help? Each one of them is a damn good reason not to go with you crazy plan zippo. Besides, we aren’t arsonists.”

Magneto nodded in agreement. “Logan is absolutely right. I thought I taught you better than that Pietro.” Magneto’s tone was unmistakably one of a parent scolding a child.

Quicksilver retorted in a quick and aggressive tone, “You didn’t teach me at all FATHER…”

Magneto frowned, “An argument for another day.” He then addressed Philip and Memory, “Our apologies for the distraction. Do you have a plan team leaders?”

“I know that the trapped people need our attention ASAP.” Philip nodded in response. “Quicksilver, Magneto, and Jean will assist people trapped in the building. Agent Six your task is to remain here and keep a monitor on what’s happening in and around the building. You can be our eyes and ears where we have none. Everyone is to keep their com links open so we can communicate. Canaan, Logan, Hideki, Annabelle, Memory and I will confront the hostiles. Once the Civilians are all safe we will join together and continue to sort the hostile situation. Any questions or comments?” Philip concluded.

Jean lowered her hand from her head having telepathically scoped out the situation. “There are hostages being held on the ground floor. The telepath and the plant manipulator are somehow working together to bring them under their control. Please be careful.”

As Oliver and Erika were about to make their way out of the building they were cut off by Canaan, Logan, Hideki, Annabelle, Memory and Philip. Logan extended his claws and took a fighting stance. “End of the line bub.” He said with a confident smirk on his face. He didn’t think chopping down a few plants would be too difficult for him.

Hideki added with a silly smile trying to contain his laughter, “Yeah Wolverines gardening sheers are pretty sharp so you may want to surrender green thumb.”

Oliver was startled at the sight of them. He recognized the X-men emblem instantly. “X-men… not good.” He said to Erika. He then stepped forward. “I’m being mocked. I’ll have you know that I was going to attempt to talk it out with you lot but now you’ve gone and pissed me off. I’ll show you weed wacked!” Oliver extended his hands a huge stalk of plants rose from the ground with snapping plant heads at the ends. The plant had many vines that whipped at the group.

One large Flytrap head quickly snapped Wolverine, the vicious bite nabbed him in the torso. Wolverine shouted in pain as the plant head lifted him from the ground and tightened its vice grip. Philip tossed an explosive time bomb toward the joint of the stem. The explosion dislodged the stem from the main body of the plant causing it and Wolverine to come crashing to the ground. Hideki blasted at the plant head with his plasmoid light to free Wolverine from it. The bite from the plant left large gashes in Wolverine that were rapidly healing.

“Note to self, don’t make fun of plant man here.” Hideki said to himself as he looked at the damage done to Logan.

Oliver turned to Erika, “You should command those under your control to attack. It’ll distract them.”

Hideki looked around as more of the structure seemed to crumble around the X-men team. Hunks of the above floors were piece by piece crashing down. The foundations of the building trembled. “We should really get outta here…” Hideki suggested with a seriously anxious tone.

Logan looked back toward Hideki and placed a hand on his shoulder. “I’m not leaving here without Jean. You go on and make it to safety kiddo. Steer clear of the Feds and the HMR when you get out there. They may try to ambush you.” Logan warned. He wasn’t too keen on the idea of the others being left on their own during such chaos but he had little choice. There was no way he was going to leave Jean in such a situation. Scott would never let him live it down nor would Logan himself if something were to happen to Jean.

“Wolvie I don’t want to leave you…ARRGH I’M STAYING TOO THEN! I sure hope Jean can reach that girl in time.” Hideki replied.

“I’ll call the professor. Perhaps he can use cerebro to reach her. It’s the most powerful telepathic tool we have.” Philip said and as soon as his statement concluded he was on the radio device calling for Professor Xavier. “Professor! Professor! We need your help and Cerebro!”

In a brief moment the Professor replied telepathically, “Yes Philip I hear you. I am aware of the situation and I’m using Cerebro to gain access to the young Mutant’s mind now. There is a force that is dark and attempting to swallow Alice’s consciousness whole. I’ve broken through enough for her to regain control. She will help you survive the building collapse. You don’t have much time.”

Oliver looked even more freaked out when Philip relayed the news.”You’re professor wants us to WHAT?! Is he daft? That thing is supposed to protect us now? Oh I’VE HEARD IT ALL NOW…” He exclaimed in annoyance.

As the group bolted towards Alice the building began to make the loudest rumble it had made yet. This was the sound of all the top floors crashing down on top of one another. The building was finally about to drop completely on top of the team. “Quick, under Alice!” Logan shouted.

The wreckage and rubble from the collapsed building surrounded the X-men team. They were saved Alice the once monstrously sized mutant now reverted to her original form. Logan was the first to come out of his slumber. Covered in debris he sat up and looked around. This was a disaster zone and there were siren sounds for miles. He began looking about frantically for the others after he shot to his feet. He may have been able to survive a building dropping on him but the others couldn’t.

He found Hideki partially exposed from the rubble and pulled him complete to freedom. “Hey kiddo you alright? Stay with me Matsuzaka…” Logan said as he held the young man.

Hideki groaned and then opened his eyes to see Logan’s concerned face. Hideki smiled through a couple of coughs. “I guess I’m alive after all. I knew you’d save me Logan.” Hideki said in a exhausted voice.

Quicksilver and magneto approached the group and Logan quickly filled them in on what happened since they separated. “Magneto I thought you were injured. You should be back at the jet.” Logan inquired.

Magneto narrowed his brow and replied, “I’m FINE. I’m of better use here than sitting in that jet waiting for you all to get yourselves killed. Now allow me to free the others so we can leave.” Magneto fussed. Logan didn’t complain however Quicksilver was annoyed that his father refused to take it easy. Magneto lifted the rubble off of the others and they were freed. Everyone seemed to be fairly alright. Quicksilver rushed back to the X-jet and piloted it so that he could pick the team up from the wreckage and take them back to the X-mansion.

Once Magneto, Logan, Jean, Alice, Hideki, Phillip, Oliver, and Memory were onboard the jet Quicksilver piloted the jet into the sky. Logan, using the com link, contacted team two. “Team 2, come in. This is Logan, are you ready for extraction? We’re headed over.”

Aidan, Frenzy, Kent, Evan, and Vernon

Kent listened, pressed the com link and replied to Logan’s beckon, “This is Kent of team two reporting in. Yes Logan we are more than ready to go home. Our jet is still intact so we will head back on our own. Thanks and see you at home.”

Logan replied with a grin, “Copy that Kent. Oh and it’s good to hear you consider the mansion home again bub. It’s great to have you back. You’ll keep the rest of us sane.” Logan was honestly glad to hear Kent’s voice. It seemed like everyone was generally alright. At least someone had a success today, he thought. After a few minutes of travel the speedy jet arrived at the X-mansion.

All of the other teams returned around roughly the same time. As the team members de-boarded the jets they all looked like they had been through hell. They all faced considerable danger today. Professor Xavier greeted the group and saw a few new faces. He had seen them while he used Cerebro to monitor the various situations however this was a first meeting between him and the newcomers. “Welcome to some and welcome back to others. I am proud of your bravery and decision making today. You all as individuals did exceptionally well in such distressing situations. For those of you who do not know me, I am professor Charles Xavier and I welcome you to the Xavier and Lensherr School for Gifted Students. You must all be tired. Feel free to utilize this place as a safe haven for as long as you require. I will soon hold a briefing meeting once everyone has had a day to rest and revitalize. I will update you all tomorrow.”

Cain was still quiet and brooding since Andy’s death. Vincent saw Cain standing there in silence as if the world was sitting atop his brain. He gave Ryan a proud smile for his valiant leadership ethic out and the field and a pat on the shoulder before approaching Cain. ”Hey… I know what happened out there and I wanted you to know that if you need me for anything I’m here for you. You did the best you could out there and there was nothing more that you could have done.”

Cain looked up toward Vincent and embraced him in his arms. “Brother…” He said as if exhaling for the first time in an hour. Vincent returned the embrace. It was nice to bond with Cain. The two hadn’t interacted much since their meeting. Cain stepped back from Vincent and replied, “Unfortunately there was something else I could have done to make sure that young man survived, yet I was weak and couldn’t bring myself to do it before it was too late. I won’t make the same mistake twice.” He said he reassuringly place his hand on Vincent’s cheek. Vincent was concerned with the state of mind his brother was in.

Scott and Jean hugged each other and kissed, simply being glad to be reunited. Scott hated being split up from Jean on their first mission since her return, however orders were orders. Logan stood not too far away watching the two of them. His face displayed a somber expression. Hideki walked up behind Logan and wrapped his arms around him. “Hey Wolverine, it’ll be alright. I’m here for you. We’re a mess let’s hit the shower.” Hideki couldn’t help by attempt to flirt with Logan.

Logan, smirking, slowly peeled Hideki’s arms from around him and turned to face him. “Yeah let’s Shower… in our own separate rooms.” Logan chuckled. He began to take a few steps away. “That imagination of yours seems to be working pretty vividly so feel free to imagine I’m there. That should do the trick Kid.” With that Logan exited the hangar. Hideki huffed at his failed attempt at Logan.

Everyone filed away to their quarters and the guests were shown to rooms so they could rest for the night. Xavier decided to stay awake and monitor the mansion for activity over night in the event that one of the guests weren’t so honest about being neutral. Erik wanted to watch in Charles’ stead but Charles refused. He knew Erik pushed himself very far today and needed rest.

(OOC: Hey sorry for the lazy post. I had a lot of ground to cover and instead of hitting all of the individual teams situations and characters with personal references which would have taken a lot of time, I met half way on it. So you can assume all teams are back at the mansion. The guests would be Robert, Vernon, Evan, Alice, Aidan and Niles. (Maybe Keith is Daimoa is still with us.) So it’s still night time that same day, Feel free to have your characters interact and mingle as everyone ponders where to go from here. Cain will soon start openly speaking to others about starting his own team. If anyone has any special ideas post them in the OOC. I’d welcome them.)
