Family Ties

Hyeon is actually son to Saburo of the Cuòjué Clan therefore was to also be the heir. Noble blood still runs through his veins even though he was casted out.

In his travels and yearn for learning magic, Hyeon came across and befriended a Sage of various magics. The sage's name is Koga Raigo, interestingly this lead him to become friends with the Moshu clan. Who've allowed the Ninja to train in the art of magic.

To those that meet him, Hyeon is many things. He's witty, he's charming, he's polite, he's intelligent, he's inviting, he's friendly, he's flirty. He talks quickly but eloquently while speeding the conversation straight to the point. He carries with him a air of mystery and wonder and excitement wherever he goes. He's that talk of the town, the big show stopper who has something everyone just has to come and see. He knows what you want, when you want it, before even you know you want it and can get it into your hands before you even knew you needed it. Yes he shows himself to be a great many things. However there something that he is, a marvelous thing, that most people will only learn long after he's gone. Because while he shows is all of the previously stated and more...

It's only afterwards that everyone realizes that he's also a thief, a cheat and a liar.

That magic mirror that Make you ten years younger under the light of the full moon? A sham, the demonstration was faked. That miracle tonic that will allow you to see the spirit world? River water with ground hallucinogenics thrown in. Those new robes that are all the rage down south? Complete reject that the tailors were struggling to get rid of for months. That prime real estate he sold you for cheep so he could 'pay off gambling debts'? It either doesn't exist or wasn't even his to sell off in the first place.

Hyeon doesn't always come to town with dud goods, but it would be a bit of a lie to say that he hasn't made a sizable profit from less than honest business practices. And practically every time he's gotten away with it. In fact he seems to find a bit of a pride to win his way through life with that silver tongue of his. Putting on a persona that entices and enraptures the crowd while out smarting and out talking competitors then making off with the goods before everything blows up is his specialty after all.

However why he does it is not something born out of malice, but necessity. For you see, Hyeon doesn't have a lot of constructive skills. All his education went into developing other talents that he found himself unsuited for, but a personal code of 'never owe anyone anything' kept him from simply buckling down and asking for help. And that fact is also partially from the belief that no one ever will aid him. It's a cruel world that everyone struggles to survive in, with people more concerned with themselves and their kin than what goes one with some disowned outcast. It is a matter of personal pride then, that he be able to use his wits keep afloat when his other talents are forced to be to be discarded. He must be self-sufficient, and if that means taking advantage of someone else's lapse of attention so be it.

It is not without precedent then that some might consider Hyeon to be a little selfish, greedy, stubborn, and maybe a bit of a loner. However he's not the kind of person that you could call slimy. He does have his ethics and hates been associated with common crooks, choosing to only scam people that actually have spare money to loose.
