For as long as he can remember,Nathan has been tormented for a multitude of different reasons, from his slight frame and physical weakness to the fact that he once had a crush on a male football player at his school. Older students would constantly pick on him, initially by way of insults and name-calling and escalating later to physically beatings and death threats. For a while he tried telling his parents, but after having them tell him to ignore them the first few times, he finally gave up and decided to let them do what they wanted.
In retrospect, Nathan isn't entirely sure why he brought a knife to school that day. When lunch came around, though, the usual bullies came around to taunt him. After the first verbal jabs, though, all the pent-up hurt and rage finally came up to the surface and Nathan slashed the leader of the group across the face. After that, his parents could no longer ignore that their son had a serious problem, and sent him to BPI where they hoped he could get help.[/center]
