Once, a long time ago, the earth was full of people and they all took care of their home but over time they forgot and the earth became angered. She took her anger out on the people creating storms that wiped out most of the population, now only a few cities survive scattered across their Earth.
In between these cities are vast areas of green fields and wildlife, untouched by man. In one of these cities, Velare, whose towering spires stretch into the clouds that hang over the population. Every one of them seems as glum and uniform as the weather and buildings surrounding them, a near constant rain drizzles down on this place.
The city is not very large but the buildings are close together and most every one scrapes the sky, in this city there are two classes of people, the first is the working class, who are called Rays. They work hard everyday to keep building the city upwards.
The second class are slaves, also known as Rain, they are forced to work in the mines below the city retrieving the materials needed for the Rays to keep building up. The rest of society disapproves of the slave labor but turn their cheeks to it, out of sight out of mind.

But mother earth has not forgotten about her children and she takes care of them by sending the ones in need gifts in the form of life given to an otherwise inanimate item. This object will change into a human form with inhuman abilities in order to help the human stay clear of danger and have come to be known as Umbrellas. These Umbrellas cannot be seen by others except the one they are protecting and others who are being protected, and are more often then not found near Rain rather than Rays.

Umbrellas were sent to protect their human, therefore, if that human dies that Umbrella returns to its original form, humans are also the owner of their Umbrella, allowing them to give their Umbrellas commands, which if not obeyed, can result in serious consequences. Cracks have been known to form on the skin of disobedient Umbrellas, if it continued the Umbrella would crumble and die. But there has been only one case of this happening, mostly Umbrellas will get along with their humans it's when they get too close that things becomes dangerous.

Needless to say there are risks with having a guardian angel but the benefits out weight them and a person is lucky to have such a companion by their side. It is seen as a sign of good fortune if you come to receive an Umbrella, it means that before you were in danger but now you are protected by the earth, but the odd thing about these beings is that most of them are received just after the exam.

โท Literacy, because yes, apparently this needs to be specified that people need to be literate when joining a roleplay so yeah, these are going to be longer posts at least two hundred words minimum.
โธ Reservations are not first come first serve and there will be competing for roles, if many people are interested in this roleplay then I will create more positions.
โน The passwords for this roleplay is your favorite type of weather be as specific as you like and also please include the faceclaim, gif, and role. Also faceclaims should be anime no real faces will be accepted.
โบ Please keep gore and sexual content to a minimum as this is not that type of roleplay and each person will get three warnings for each of these, although swearing is allowed and encouraged as I will be doing quite a bit of it.
โป The role and characters are flexible and can be moved around so if you would like to change the gender, abilities or anything about a certain character all you need to do it ask.
โผ I would like to see commitment so if you think that you cannot handle the pressure please take a second to think before you join.
โฝ Reservations will be held for seventy two hours when a work in progress should be submitted if they are not I will give the role up to someone else.
