Welcome to the Caribbean a land of gold, rum and Johnny Depp look a likes. It is the year 1789 and piracy is at its highest with hundreds of scurvy devils prowling the waters searching for stolen treasures. The Spanish, Dutch, French and British navies are powerless to stop theses pirates and buccaneers. In fact a few governors are making a tidy profit from their privateers who loot other ports. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of these heroic adventures?

Well not you … at least not yet anyway and no this isn’t a role-play where it just so happens a famous pirate captain makes a trip to a tavern and whisks you away for an action packed and well organised adventure. Not by a long shot however this adventure does start in a tavern in the little port town of Esperanza.
Enter our protagonist James Barret a young fisher men from the town. Who currently is drinking in said tavern the Desgraciado. James is a rather solitary lad who tries to keep out of trouble so when a gang of pirates across the tavern begins a brawl James does the rational thing and hides under the table.

After much shouting and swearing James struggles to his feet to sneak away from the ensuing fight only to be shoved aside by a brawler and hit in the chest with a ball of black smoke. James falls to the floor in agony as the smoke worms its way through his body pooling on the palm of his right hand. Forming a perfect black spot.

James is now a marked man and must leave Esperanza least he is killed by a vengeful pirate. But he will not be safe for long if a pirate will not kill him the curse will for pirate magic is arcane and fool hardy. Of course there is a way to reverse the spell but it’s not simple or this would be a very boring role play.

Determined to survive James musters a 6 man crew from the…colourful people of Esperanza to accompany him in finding those who can end the curse. Of course the odds are against you and you’re woefully unprepared but a dragon was defeated this way so it can’t be that difficult.

So here you are 6 adventures about to embark on an epic journey to save your captain and find your treasure. Presuming of course you make it out of the port after all James’ ship the fat friar isn’t exactly the bloody Mary but she is nimble if old and battered and barely big enough for 6 people. She’s loaded with three months of food and a year’s supply of lemsip (lemon syrup for scurvy) and has been fitted with the lowest range cannons at James’s expense so of you go me hearties adventure awaits.
