“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure.
I make mistakes, I am out of control and
at times hard to handle.
But if you can't handle me at my worst,
then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

~ Marilyn Monroe

{Physical Appearance}
Rather petite with her five feet and two inches, Jessica has grown to become a very beautiful and curvy young woman. No longer as plump like in her youth, she has grown into an hourglass figure with slim and very lightly toned arms and legs. Her skin, smooth and blemish-free is very light; her fair complexion hardly - if ever - tanning beneath the California sun's hot rays. Contrasting against this soft and creamy complexion is a full head of silky and naturally wavy jet-black hair, which falls down her back effortlessly. On her face sits two almond-shaped, expressive green eyes; they are a very clear and dark green shade, near hypnotizing in the darkness and are framed by long black lashes. She also has very high cheekbones on her rounded face, a button nose, and a short chin.

{Scars/Marks/Tattoos}
Other than her soul mate mark, Jess also has a few faded scars on her wrists that she never speaks of and it is never a good idea to ask her about that. Her ears are pierced. Nobody knows about it as she rarely wears two-piece bathing suits or cropped tops, but she has a tattoo on her lower back.

{Clothing Description}
A fan of simplicity with a dash of sensuality, Jessica never really explored many options growing up. She spent the first part of her life in a catholic all girls' school with monotonous uniforms and girls who never made her feel anything less than pathetic. So, she never really found a particular style that would capture the outgoing persona she lets on in the eyes of the public. So, she contends herself to a rather simple style with jeans and skirts with solid shirts, especially button downs with the first few buttons released not to show cleavage, but to elicit enough attention to see that she is too classy for you to even consider a one-night stand with her. She likes pairing dresses with denim jackets and she has a thing for seemingly antique and understated jewelry. Make-up is used minimally and you will only see her showing off during big events.

{Personality}
After years of perfecting it, Jessica has somehow managed to maintain a level of control in every aspect of her life. As a girl who lost both of her parents in different ways young, had to take care of her younger sister, and deal with constant mental and emotional abuse from peers, Jess has erected a wall around her true self, often coming across as unaffected and cool. She is generally in good spirits once she is outside and the public sees her as a very private person; you rarely hear about her personal life. The paparazzi have yet to discover that she actually has a father. Jessica likes to maintain this image of herself that appears to be one who could get along with everyone, who has a ton of connections, and who works very efficiently.

What she does not tell often is her ability to shut people out the second things become more intimate or they try to become closer than what she is willing to allow them to be. While her fans and the elite think she is this newly rich girl who surprisingly knows how to handle her money and dates accomplished young men, she really isn't dating them. It is simply a part of a contract her manager and theirs drew up so that no one would see the dirty details involved in their relationships. Jessica has never had a genuine romantic relationship. Despite the playfulness and confidence she exudes with the occasional sensual tease, a past filled with thinking that she was never good enough has led her to fear the idea of being closer than something sexual. The idea of giving herself away so easily for someone who could hurt is illogical. Jessica's fast brain cannot think about slowing down and not analyzing every little thing. Instead of pursuing this want for true affection and a deep relationship, she hides behind relationships - or contracts - with men she knows for a fact that she cannot love. It is hard for her to relinquish control over herself and her feelings, and she knows that if she ever met her soul mate, he'd find a way to break her.

Jess is a rather simple woman when it comes down to it. She has all of this money and doesn't know what to do with it or - to be completely honest - just doesn't want to deal with it. She doesn't need every designer brands or expensive bath oils. It doesn't take much to please her; no amount of jewels will make her fall for you. In fact, she hates being bought. She has worked hard to get where she is; she has drawn up mostly every contract she has and has had only one person look them over, she has not asked for a cent from her father, and she does not spend large quantities of money unless it is absolutely necessary. She hates the idea of playing like she's happy on these dates or even that she's always on the go when all she wants to do is find a way to be happy - truly happy, and not burdened by the past.

{History}
When you think of the background Jessica gave to the public, you would think that she had it pretty well. She attended an all girls' Catholic school from five all the way to high school. She came from an upper middle class family, living in a very nice home in Providence, Rhode Island. Not much happened there, right? She had a lot of family support when it came to writing. The picture she painted would have made you think that she was simply groomed to become a part of the rich and elite of America.

In reality, a part of that truth has been smudged. She did have a pretty decent family life when it came to support and finances. But school had never been that great. As a child, Jessica was definitely on the thicker side - she hates the words chubby or fat; they bring up too many unwanted memories. While the teachers were strict the majority of the time, the true conflict in her youth came from the girls she studied with. While most would think that the uniform left little for anyone to tease anyone else about, there was always this one group of girls - Grace, Laurel and Annabeth. Annabeth and Jess used to be best friends, but when Jess turned ten and started developing early, it left room for taunting.

And taunt, they did. Every day they picked at her for her weight. They put extra servings on her plate at meals because "she was going to sneak the food anyway." They knocked her books on the ground and would sometimes screw with her desk for the hell of it. And it wasn't like her mom didn't try to do anything. While Oliver Sawyer would have loved to do something for his daughter, his position as an employee of Grace's father left him unable to make a move lest he lost his job. Marie didn't have that kind of patience. She even got into an altercation with Grace's mother, her husband's job be damned. But it was no use. The more Jess talked, the worse the girls got. So, she buried herself in books and writing.

And it helped. But she was damaged. She began cutting her wrists because she had become so numb to the taunting and abuse. By the time she turned thirteen, she had become a shell of the happy girl her mother knew. Marie tried everything; she even wanted to take Jessica out of the school and put her elsewhere. But they paid big money for their daughter's education; Jess had always been rather smart. And Jess promised that she was fine and painted a smile on her face. Then tragedy struck. It was a car accident, on a rainy night - how cliché! Jess could tell you exactly where she was when the incident occurred, but the one thing that will always be on her mind is the day one of the police officers - a friend of Oliver's - came and broke the news. She was fourteen.

From that day on, her family was destroyed. Her father spiraled into an alcoholic depression, disappearing at nights because he was too ashamed for his daughters to see how much of a failure he was to them. Jessica was tasked with taking care of Tibby. You'd think that the girls at school would cut her some slack; they didn't. She had simply become so numb that they grew bored with her and only fucked with her every now and then. And Jess? She hardened herself; she learned to bottle all of her emotions, never exactly showing how hurt she truly is. But it speaks through her writing, which is how she got her first publication and commercial success with her first book, which spanned a series. Years later and Jess was in California, far from home with only one real friend. And sure, she knows her mother would probably be disappointed with how she has managed her life, but it is what it is. She doesn't know how to be what her mom would have wanted. She just knows how to be what everyone else would want.

So begins...
